What happens when a workplace grudge turns into a career-ending mistake? One listener confessed that after a new coworker rubbed everyone the wrong way, she took advantage of an unexpected opportunity when her boss started investigating a major error at work. The problem? She was actually the one who made the mistake. Instead of coming clean, she blamed the unpopular coworker, and the boss believed her without question. The coworker was fired, the office celebrated, and years later she still isn't sure whether she should feel guilty or justified. Was it karma, betrayal, or simply the perfect storm? Billy, Candice, and Producer Pooh break down one of the most shocking Dirty Little Secrets we've heard in a long time.

Think she did the office a favor or crossed a line she'll eventually have to answer for? Listen now, join the conversation, and don't forget to subscribe, leave a review, and share this episode with a friend. You never know what secret will be revealed next on Billy The Kidd In The Morning!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
Morning on Mix 102.9.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Brought to you by Mint Dentistry. That's right, Dirty Little Secret. Also,
Usher and Chris Brown tickets. We've got them all day,
so I want to make sure you listen and win
another shot at like 10-10. But we do it on
the 10s pretty much every hour all day. And a
chance to get on that VIP riser with them, too.
And some things go down on that riser. Oh, man.
I know. You make it sound so sketch. I mean,
it's not sketch. It's just you get up close and personal.

(00:25):
There's a chance you can get up close and personal
with Chris Brown or Usher. Oh, cool. It's caused divorces.
It's caused breakups. It's caused pregnancies.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Stop. Yes, it has. All right. Dirty Little Secret is on.
Confess if you got some. 833-787-1029. Hey.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Good morning. I have a dirty little secret for you.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
So what is happening? Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So I've been at my job for a really long time.
I'm established there. People trust me. I know everybody. My
boss trusts me. I have a really good reputation. And
about a year ago, this girl started working with us
and nobody liked her. She was one of those like
people who never came out with us, never went to
the things. And it was like, She had a weird personality,
you know, she just, the chemistry was off.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
And before people say we were bullying the new girl,
I wasn't like that. Nobody was like that. Nobody was
bullying her.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Okay. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
She was just weird.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
So she didn't fit into the crew is what it
sounds like. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
She didn't talk to anybody. Okay. You know, like she
wasn't a team player. We're all working together. She's like,
I'll do it by myself. She only worried about herself. And, um,
I dunno, it was just like weird. Cause she had
this attitude and people just didn't like her, you know,
like she thought she was better than us. She was like,
I'm hotter than everyone. I, you don't deserve to be
in my presence. You know, that kind of, okay. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
So we don't, you, you don't like that. You don't
want that vibe. No, no.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
So not too long ago, something happened at work. Somebody
made a huge mistake. So my boss was furious. He
was venting. He didn't know who did it. I knew
because it was me and I messed up.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Oh, you're the one who messed up.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
So when my boss called me and he was like,
he was like asking questions, I panicked. And I remember
I looked him dead in the eye and I was
saying something like, you've known me for years. You can
trust me and I can tell you who did it.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
And then I gave her a name. No. You threw
the newest girl under the bus?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yes, I gave her a name because I was angry
at her and I was like, I'm just going to
throw it at her. I'm just going to say it
was her.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Did he believe you? He did believe me.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
And I completely threw her under the bus and he
believed me without even questioning it because I've been there
for so long. And the next week she was fired.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh, dang.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
No.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
What? No way. Okay. Wow. So you have you basically
set her up to take the fall to your mistake.
She gets fired. Now, I know you didn't like her,
but at the same time, was she a bad worker?
Because if you don't like some, that's one thing you're like, OK,
but if she genuinely just sucks at her job, then

(03:10):
you're like, now she's a liability team down. Right. But
it sounds like you know, she was.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah she was actually pretty good at the job she
just nobody liked working with her and had a bad
attitude i don't feel bad about it at all at.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
All at nothing at all remorse because nobody liked working
with her and she was a miserable person and we
were all miserable in her presence and she clearly hated
being there anyway so i feel like i kind of
did her a favor because like I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
This just fell into my lap. It was the perfect equation.
And I took the chance and I, I think it
was a good decision actually.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Okay. I mean, that's one way to put it. But
when you did now do other people, do the other
girls or other people in the office know that what
you did? No. Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
But when everyone found out she was fired, they were like,
thank God. And they were like, Oh my gosh, it's, it's, it's,
This is such a blessing. I'm so glad that this happened.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Okay. So you feel like you did everyone a favor. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I mean, I was agreeing with everybody and nobody knew
it was me and I'm the reason she's gone. And
even my boss doesn't know to this day. And I'm like,
I don't know. Like, wow. At least I get to
tell you guys.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, I mean, you told us and. Yikes. I don't know.
I get it, but I would feel so bad in
a weird way. Yeah, I'd feel like I'm going to
have bad karma forever. Yeah, but then again, she feels
like this is this girl's karma. She's a bad person,
and she just got what was coming to her.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, yeah, I feel like I feel like it is karma.
And I think that like, I don't know, maybe I
shouldn't have blamed her for something I did. But but
she wasn't happy there, like I said, and nobody wanted
to work with her. And in the long run, maybe
her getting fired just pushed her in the right direction
so she can find her path and fit in with
wherever she needs to fit in.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
But it wasn't with us. You can't sit with us.
You can't sit with us. Oh, mean girls. All right.
You did it. At least the office is hopefully calm now.
And and you made everybody happy. You did. I mean,
you're kind of a hero, according to the office. It
sounds like you're the unsung hero that nobody knows. You
just saved the office of this awful person. So good

(05:21):
for you.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Well, yeah, that's what I keep telling myself.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Okay, well, I'm glad you feel better getting it off
your chest.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Yeah, I actually do feel better. Thank you, guys.
