were really I thought, a really good win against Mechanicsburg guy.

After the two week layoffs last week. Yeah, you know,
you always got worried a little bit with a layoff,
a week, a bye week, just coming back and get
back in the groove of things. But you know, we
had a three and half on defense, got the ball
back and we had a long drive and scored on
the first series, which was a very good sign. I

thought we played very well. I have to clean up
a couple of the penalties. Uh you know, we had
three unsportsmanlike. One of them was actually a penalty. The
other two weren't very good calls. I mean, when somebody
when the defenders are grabbing your by your ankle and
you're just trying to get your ankle free so you
get back to the huddle and they call you for

unsportsmanlike is crazy. The other one was not over him,
you know. I mean, you're allowed to celebrate, just can't
celebrate it over the guy you just tackled and he didn't.
He was not over him. So but it is what
it is. I thought, other than the block punt. We
played well in all three phases. Defense played really well

offense other than the penalties, and the other reason we
had to punt the ball at all was because one
of those penalties I think it was, you know, with
guy having his arm hands on his ankle, because that
put us in a third and twenty four. So you know,
they're very good defensive line and to run the ball.
(01:34):
The way we ran the ball was very good. I
thought we passed proke pretty well. You know, we missed
a few things that we could have hit. You know,
as you brought up earlier, is Aden grow to forty
two yard field goals, which was big. I thought, you know,
without the type of field goal kicker we have, I

probably would have just ran the clock out with thirty
five seconds left than the half. But you know, Aiden
was actually hitting field goals for sixty yards in pre games,
so that same direction. So we were just trying to
get the ball down to their forty and we did
a good job. Got the ball down, actually got a
little bit more. You know, we had one time out left,

we had eight seconds left, so we ran the ball
and you know, I think we got down to like
the twenty something and called the time out. One of
the nice things is we got a little bit move
to the center instead of the hash, which a little
easier for him to kick. So, oh, no, I think
it was a good win.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, as I talked with you a little bit before
we went on the area, choked with you about the
two forty two yard field goals. Over the years, I've
joked with you, how people come to me on the side,
is he going to retire?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Is going to retire?

Ten years ago I said, well, the night somebody kicks
two forty two yard field goals, he'll retire. But you're
still here, so.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
That's a good dame. So yeah, all right, So.

At the end of the game and he did a
really really nice thing, just talk a little bit about that.

Yeah, you know, we made it was a tough week
for all of us, but obviously for Shaheed and Swoops
was a real tough week, you know. So we made
Shaheeda captain and Swoops was a captain also, And and
a big shout out to Austin Matt because you know,

he's normally our starting corner and he was nice enough
to let she he'd start, and she he played well.
I mean he's played well all year. But he played
well and then uh, when we got the ball, when
they went forward the fourth downs even their territory, we
got it back and we're gonna put the backups in.
You know, my running back coach, my brother, Dave Warkter,
came up to me and said, hey, if we get

down to five yard Lincoln we get you know, we
call him shy, you know, shy a touchdown. I'm like, yeah,
and you know, you know, I'll admit it now, but
normally I don't like only especially celebration penalties, and we
could have. Our guys did a pretty good job of
staying on the sideline. But you know, I've said if
(04:08):
if our old team runs out in the field to celebrate,
I'll take the fifteen yard penalty. I mean, he deserved it,
and he made a nice run and he made a
nice move, and you know, and that wasn't against their jvs.
That was their starting defense. So really happy for him.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
It was nice to all of a sudden and I
didn't pick up.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I thought about before.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
The game, you know, what would you do that if
it happens and I didn't pick up and all of
a sudden, the entire team was down at that end,
you know, cheering. I thought they were just quote cheering
on the younger guys. But yeah, now that was great. Okay,
So tonight, Oh, did you come away pretty much injury free?
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I don't mine remember too many guys. Yeah, you know,
we got some guys back, which was great. It was
the first time really since the first game that we
had everybody back. We had won. That might be a
game time decision tonight, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
So you got Exeter District championship last year down at Elco.
Another two thousand yard running back, second year in a row,
a different, different guy from last year.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
So what do they look like? What are you expecting tonight?
You know, they're big upfront on both sides of the ball.
Their physical. The running back, you know, he's got a
lot of speed. He's a track kid, you know, and
if we give him a crease, you know, he's probably
gonna be gone. So we we really have to do
well there. But they also have a wide receivers pretty
(05:30):
fast and he had too long touchdown passes against Council
Valley last week. Quarterback played against US last year. He's
thrown for a lot of yards down there, you know,
he's a senior. So defense has to play real well offensively.
You know, we again, they're good defense, but we just
(05:51):
have to continue doing what we've been doing, you know,
we you know, as you guys know that watch mcdeal
football for a while and remain is you know, we
like to throw the football and we still do. But
you know, we did that the first game and then
to do so well, I mean, we had a chance
to beet Harrisburg. We're on a nine game winning streak,
and you know, we've truly become a run first offense
(06:14):
right now, and we're gradually, hopefully getting a little better
in the past game. And I mean we've got good receivers.
Sebastian's playing better, you know, so if they give us
a lot of man, we're gonna throw the ball. So
you know, we'll see how it goes. But I like
how the offense is playing, especially the offensive line is
playing real well. Running backs are running really really well. Interesting.

I'm thinking of the Eagles on Monday night and I
watch a lot of this stuff the next day on
the Philly stations, and my goodness, you thought they lost,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
And people, if you know Eric Wector. You know that's
what you like to do.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
But at the same time, the bottom line is not
how much you throw, how much you runs what what
they're going to give you is always say, and winning
is the bottom line. And you were winning this year
running the ball a little bit more.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Than as normal. Yeah, you know, it's opened up play
action passing, which is a little bit more you don't get.
You get a little more simple, simpler coverage, which is
good for a first year quarterback. You know, the the
you know, but you know, and you're right, wins win.
But in the same token, what I was saying earlier
(07:27):
is if they start loading the box and playing your man,
you've got to throw the football because and you know
that's what they've been doing to the Eagles a lot,
and especially in that second half, is they start bringing
those safeties down and making plays in the backfield, you know,
you got to Now you've got to throw the ball. So, uh,
I think we're ready for it if people do it.
I mean they did it a little bit to us
(07:48):
last year. You know, they they went and played what
we call zero coverage with no help and uh, you know,
put eight men in the box to try to stop
our running and you know, they they you know, I mean,
they may even start coming to do that at the
beginning of the game. But we've been we we we
saw it earlier in the year against Chambersburg a little bit.
(08:09):
We saw it a lot against Al Tuona and you
know that was one of our best throwing games is
against Al Tuna. Uh So we're ready for it. If
they do do that, I think we're ready.
