Bishop McDevitt High School Football 2026 is on the air.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Sebastian Williams, back to pass. Pass time. Fires it down
the middle.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
And it's caught by John T.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Quick for a touchdown. This is the 100th season of
Bishop McDevitt Football.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
And the Crusaders are headed back to the state championship
for the fourth time in five years. Aiden Grella with
the billboard.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
It's now time for kickoff.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Crusader football is brought to you by Tim Decker of
Green Spring Advisors, Select Medical, and Steve Augello Strategies. Now
let's head out to the field with your game announcers,
Art Selby and Marty Bowman.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Rico's starting tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Thank you. All right, welcome back to George Speed Ebersole

(02:15):
Stadium where Atlanta's filled here. Art Selby, Marty Bowman, Rob Thugliese.
and Eli Fessler back in the Fox Sports 1460 studios.
A little bit of a delayed start here tonight, guys,
with the TV coverage, but we're getting close to football here.
Bishop McDevitt, obviously on the near side, is running the
visitor's side here at Landis Field. Crusaders with always the

(02:36):
gold helmets, the white jerseys with the gold numbers, and
the blue pants with the gold trim. A sharp-looking outfit
for the Central Dauphinese Panthers over on the far side.
The home side of Landis Field, The black jerseys, white numbers,
the white pants, and the black helmets, guys. About 80
degrees for a game-time temperature here tonight. And even warmer

(03:02):
up in the press box, I would say.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
It really is. It's probably 103. We were talking weather earlier.
I just want to say, you know, we really dodged
a bullet, like Marty said, and unfortunately out in the
western part of the state, In the WPIL, they had
those severe storms last night that were so bad that
there were multiple games. And these were league games that
couldn't be played. And from what I understand, just like

(03:27):
District 3, there's a shortage of officials. So my first
thought when I was seeing some of the games like
Moon and Bethel Park, I thought, well, they'll just play
Friday night or Saturday. But from what I was reading
online today, Those games were actually canceled. They're not going
to be made up, which, again, I find hard to
believe with them being league games, but that's the word

(03:50):
out there.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, some of that weather, I can say, woke me
up around midnight the other night, and I think the
thunderstorms never stopped until about 6 a.m. the next morning.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
This summer just continues, the summer of storms.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
C.D. East comes into that.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
Their starting quarterback, Deshaun Venable-Cooper, Unable to go tonight.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
And Amir Lamel will be taking the snaps for the Panthers.

Speaker 8 (04:16):
That's a big loss.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Caden Walker back deep for Bishop McDevin. Of course, he
had some great kick returns last week in the game
against Good Counsel. The Panthers will go left to right
from our perspective on the visitor side of Landis Field.
They will kick off towards the Union Deposit end of
the field. for that matter. Caden Walker standing back deep

(04:41):
at about his five-yard line, it looks like. We are
just about ready to roll here. Dylan Jimenez out there
to kick off for the Panthers. And we are just
about ready for football here and ready to roll here tonight.
Crusaders 1-0, Panthers 0-1 in the season as they lost

(05:01):
to Cedar Crest last week, 45-12. Bishop McDevitt, a 35-21
win over Good Counsel. We are ready to roll here.

Speaker 8 (05:14):
All right, Jimenez finally about ready to roll here.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Runs up to kick this one. And he kicks a
line drive down the middle of the field. It's fielded
by one of the up men for Bishop McDevitt. That's
Jaunte Quick. and he's tackled down at about the 29-yard line.
That's where the Crusaders will set up shop, as they
will go right to left from our perspective here at
Landis Field to start the game, guys.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
You actually have to look at that as a good start.
If a line drive kick's going downfield and it's going
to be an up man, you want one of your
best runners and hands guys to get the ball.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, that's always the difficulty for an opponent. Do you
kick it deep to the most dangerous, or do you
kick it to the next level up, which is still
really dangerous? Wynchante Quick's your option.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Crusaders with two wide outs on the near side. Sebastian
awaits the snap. Sebastian will hand this one off on
the near side out here, and the Crusaders pick up
about five on that one. That was number seven, Xavier McFarland,
on the carry.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
A little bit of a sprint-out draw there, which we've
seen a little bit. I haven't seen that much of
McDevitt over the years, but that was a nice sprint-out draw.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
It's got your running back already in gear when he
You know, when you put it in his belly.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah, he followed the strong side there with Andre Main
and Landon Colbert and really didn't meet any resistance there.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Got a six on that. It'll be second and four.
Sebastian fakes the handoff. Fires a quick pass to the
outside to Jonte Quick. Takes it all the way over
midfield down to the 49-yard line. A central dolphin. It's
a gain of about 16 and a first down for
Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Just an easy pitch and catch. Sebastian taking the snap.
two steps and just immediately firing it out to jontay
in open space and you know really again no resistance
he picked up 17 yards.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
Sebastian actually does a nice spin on that because he
actually turns his back to where he's going to throw
it to the right and uh jontay kind of throws
the defense they're wondering what's going on there jontay was
uh ready to ready to.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Roll creighton milch checked into the game there for bishop
david zayden smith out here is a wide receiver near
us here's a handoff up the middle And not much
there that time. The Central Dolphin defended that well against
Caden Walker's short run there.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, great penetration by number 22, Josiah Littlejohn, 5'7'' senior
linebacker who shot the gap and hit Caden right when
he got the ball.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
We'll give him a yard on that one, say second
down and nine according to the scoreboard here. Crusaders come
with two outs to each side of the field, one
back in the backfield. Sebastian looks over here to the
near side. Now Sebastian waits to snap in the shotgun.
He's back to pass. Fires one to the outside. And

(08:08):
this one is, I believe they're going to say complete
for a short game to about the 44-yard line. That
was Zayden Smith, I believe, on the catch.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah, tight coverage from number seven, Maurice Boswell, a returning
starter for Easton, the secondary junior who, Giving up a
lot of size, Marty, to Zayden, but came up and
hit him. Didn't give up anything extra there.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
No, because he really prevented no yards after catching on that.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
So it's third down for Bishop McDevitt, and it looks
to be about seven yards, I would say. Crusaders again
will go with two wideouts to each side of the field.
Jonte Quick and Zayden Smith are out on the far side,
one back in the backfield. I think that's McFarlane back there.
Sebastian back to pass. Here comes the pressure. He's going
to run. He's got the 45. He's got the 40.

(08:55):
He's got the first down and more. And knocked out
of bounds at around the 33-yard line or so. First down,
Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
Nice job there by Sebastian Williams. Good coverage in the
secondary by East. And Sebastian just looked up and, you know,
had a lot there, so he– able to get the first.

Speaker 6 (09:18):
Down and go out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
First down and 10, Bishop McDevitt. It's a 34-yard line,
9.15 left to play, just getting started here in the
first quarter. No score in the game. Three wideouts to
the near side for Bishop McDevitt, one back in the backfield.
Sebastian fakes the handoff. Here's a pass backwards out here
to Holton Jr., and he takes it down to about
the 34, maybe the 33-yard line.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
Always dangerous there, Rob, when you're throwing that ball backwards
in your backfield, you know, Because if it.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
Ends up loose, it's anybody's ball.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, timing was just a little bit off there, it
seemed like. Howard did a good job just to get
back to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
So they really give yeah no gain it'll be second
down and.

Speaker 7 (10:01):
10 for a second i thought they were going to
run a half a you know actually flanker.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Pad smith and quick go out on the far side
as wideouts for bishop mcdevitt and the crusaders will run
this one up the middle And again, good coverage that
time by the Panthers as Caden Walker really not much
there for him, maybe a yard at the most.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah, number 50 for Easton there. Eneshe Gephardt, 210-pound senior.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
That first carry for McDivitt, that left side of the line,
really opened up some territory. Right now, the last two times,
Easton's responded.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Walker in the backfield, lines up to the right of
Sebastian Williams. Three wideouts to the far side, one of
the near. Sebastian is back to pass. Here comes the pressure,
fires one down the middle of the field. And it's
caught for a Bishop McDevitt touchdown, I believe. And he's
trying to get... That was Jonte Quick on that one, guys.
The Crusaders go up 6-0, 7.52 left to play here

(11:04):
in the first quarter. 33 yards.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
As he did last week, Sebastian just stood tall there.
Saw the field.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
Jontae was just able to do a skinny post and
get wide open.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Perfect route.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Perfect pass.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Perfect route. He led him a couple steps, and Jontae
just extended and pulled it in the back of the
end zone.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Lulinda on the attempt, the extra point. The kick is
up and good. So with 7.52 left to play here
in the first quarter, Bishop McDevitt strikes first. The lead
CD East 7-0. You're listening to Bishop McDevitt Football here

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Electricity on a football field. This is Bishop McDevitt Football
on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here. Art Selby,
Marty Bowman, Rob Pugliese, and Eli Fessler back in the
Fox Sports studios. So Bishop McDevitt strikes first on a
33-yard touchdown pass from Sebastian Williams to John Tate Quick.
The Crusaders go up to 7-0. CD East did a

(12:43):
nice job defensively on that drive, but McDevitt's speed just
makes a big play, and the Crusaders go up 7-0
here now. The Crusaders will kick off going right to left.
Two men back deep for the Panthers. Here's the kickoff.
This one's a little short. It'll come down and bounce
on the ground. It's fielded at the 15, brought back
to the 20, taken outside for Central Dolphin East as

(13:06):
that's Bassett's. Bassett will go out of bounds at around
the 26-yard line or so.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
It pushed out of bounds by number 21, Xavier Powell,
a freshman wide receiver defensive back.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
So the Panthers take over now as they will drive
towards the Union deposit end of Landis Field here. They
have it spotted right on the 26-yard line. McDevitt up
now 7-0 on the 33-yard touchdown pass to Jaunte Quick
from Sebastian Williams. And coming out at quarterback is Amir
Lamel due to the injury of Deshaun Venable Cooper. He's

(13:47):
got one wide out here on the near side. They
bring him in in motion, and the ball goes through
his hands. Ball's on the ground. It's still out there.
And I think Bishop McDevitt came up with it after
all that, guys, inside the 10-yard line.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yep, Chance Holmes. Senior defensive end.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
The inexperienced quarterback. I don't know if Lamel didn't think
they were going to be snapping it to him or
what happened there, but it just went flying right by him.
They had many opportunities to field it, and McDevitt finally
got in there and took advantage and recovered it. The

(14:26):
Crusaders will have a first down and goal with an 8.
7.40 left to play first quarter. Already up 7-zip. Offense
back on the field here. Big break here for Bishop
McDevitt early in the game. They go up by two
scores here. Two wide receivers on the near side for

(14:47):
Bishop McDevitt. One to the far, one back in the backfield.
And they will hand this one off this time, Bishop McDevitt.
And they come outside and.
Knocked around a little bit. That was Walker on the
carry on the near side. Not much there. CeeDee East
did a nice job defending it as well.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Yeah, Xavier. Check that. Zayden Smith, number 11 for McDevitt
on the edge there. He needed to block Marty to
spring Caden, and he got beat on the outside, and
the defender just came in and dropped Caden for a loss.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Yeah, they'll spot it back at the 10-yard line, so
a loss of two. Crusaders have three wide outs on
the far side. and one in the near side. It's
like Ethan Miller is in there on the near side.
Sebastian back to pass. There's a screen pass on the
near side, this time to McFarland, and he will take
it into the end zone for a Bishop McDevitt touchdown,
and with 6.53 left to play in the first quarter,

(15:41):
it's Bishop McDevitt 13 and C.D. East nothing.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
There was a screen.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
We saw a lot of screens last week from McDevitt.
Coach Wechter decides to call it here on a second
and ten, and.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
It just was a wide open walk into the end
zone for McFarland.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
So Crusaders up 13-0 on the 10-yard screen pass from
Sebastian Williams to Xavier McFarland. Zalinda Ando attempts the extra point.
And penalty flags come flying out. Let's see what that is, guys.
I think East was offsides. Crusaders up 13-0 here. The

(16:26):
extra point pending. The Crusaders strike on the 33-yard touchdown pass.
Get the ball back immediately on the turnover. And the
kick is good, so the penalty will be.

Speaker 7 (16:42):
No, the kick did not count. I wonder where these
guys were going.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
Both teams were running off the field. He just needed to.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
I want Wechter to know whether he wanted to take
that half the distance on that five-yard penalty.

Speaker 6 (16:55):
These guys are all running off the field.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
And I love the way the ref just did sort
of a shush everybody back to kick it.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
All right. Linda on to attempt the extra point again
for Bishop McDevitt. High snap. Line drive kick is up,
and it is good. And the Crusaders go up 14-0 here.
6.53 left to play first quarter. Let's take another break.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
The game everyone circles on the schedule.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
This is Bishop McDevitt football on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here. Art Selby,
Marty Bowman, Rob Pugliese, Eli back in the studios. McDevitt
now at 14-0. I want to give some credit there.
That snap was high. Lalinda kicked it through the uprights,
but Ellis Cunturath, Did a great job of getting that down, guys,
for him to be able to kick that through as

(18:30):
it was a high snap on that one. Here's a
line drive kick down the field. This is caught at
the 10. They bring it back to the 15, to
the 20. That's Bassett. He brings this one up to
about the 31-yard line, and that's where the Panthers will
take over as they drive towards the Union deposit end
of the field here now. Sun's starting to set here

(18:52):
at Landis Field. Crusaders up 14-0. Creighton Milch in there
on the tackle for Bishop McDevitt, guys.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah, he had some help, too, from Brian Stewart and
Xavier Powell.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Nice 21-yard return for the Panthers. Put them in a
decent field position.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
So McDevitt up 14-0. Disaster on the one offensive play
of the game for the Panthers. And this time... They
will run it with Lamel. And Lamel does a nice
job of picking up about eight yards on the carry
that time for the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Number 13, Ethan Miller. Middle linebacker for McDevitt on the stop.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Panthers just going off the bread and butter there. Lamel
with some speed and just a great athlete able to
take that one down the field and pick up nine.
And here come the Panthers. Panthers offense again. Looks like
they have two wide outs on the far side and
two on the near. One in the backfield. Lamel waits
to snap. Bobbles the ball. Now he's running for his

(20:01):
life and he will be tackled down. He spins forward
and actually gets close to the first down. I think
he's going to be just a little shy.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Chance Holmes leading the way there for McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (20:19):
Did a nice job there for East Lamel to just
not lose yardage after the snap was bobbled.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
It's the third and short here. McDevitt sends in number 75.
Matt Winn at defensive tackle. Sophomore.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Spot it right at the 40-yard line on third down
and one. Lamel's got three wideouts on the far side now.
One of them goes in motion. That's Bassett. Now Lamel
will keep it himself. Comes to the outside, and he
is going to be tackled over here on the far side.
And I believe that was Smith on the tackle.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yes, it was. Zayden Smith with a big tackle for loss.
Linebacker walked up to a defensive end spot there.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Nowhere for Lamel to go on that one.

Speaker 7 (21:05):
Zayden Smith showed some of that good speed there. Lamel
just could not get to the corner. And once he
got a hold of him, he just held on to him.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
The bar chance back deep for Bishop McDevitt at around
the 30-yard line or so. The Panthers will punt. Panthers
have a fourth down and five as the clock ticks
down to about four and a half minutes left to
play here in the first quarter. McDevitt a 14-0. And
they do get this one off. And unfortunately, McDevitt's going

(21:36):
to get called for a rough in the kicker. He's
a Konama got in there and knocked him down. So
McDevitt returns the punt back to about the 48-yard line,
but it won't matter. Flag is down back at the
25-yard line.

Speaker 7 (21:55):
Actually, that guy, he had time to avoid that. He
came in trying to get the block. He wasn't that
close to getting it and really just needed to square
his feet up.

Speaker 6 (22:07):
And come almost to like a basketball jump.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Stop so they called running into the kicker not roughing
so so this is going to set up well we'll
see it looks like it's going to be really close
looking we're looking at where the sticks are.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:26):
They need the 41 mcdevitt's defense is on the field
So either way.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
They're moving the sticks.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
They are moving the sticks here.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Even if it was 4-5 inches, you would think with
Lamel they would just try and run him and get
the first down. But they do pick it up, and
the ball's at the 41-yard line. So the Panthers get
the first down as they continue to go left to
right towards the Union deposit. End of land is filled here.
Bishop McDevitt up 14-0. And here come the Panthers, two

(23:01):
wideouts to each side of the field. Now going in
motion is Bassett. And Lamel fakes the pass and now
tries to throw one to the outside, and it is
incomplete as he tried to hit his guy over on
the far side of the field over there.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
He was looking for Emilio Bassett, number one, who's one
of the best athletes for the Panthers, one of their playmakers.
He's a junior now. He's been getting a lot of
playing time for them. Was a starter last year. Played
a lot as a freshman.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
So it was incomplete. Second down and 10. 4-14 left
to play first quarter. McDevitt up 14-0. Panthers again. Two
wide outs over on the far side. One to the near.
And Lamel waits the snap. And they will hand this
one off. And Bishop McDevitt in the backfield on that

(23:51):
one to shut things down quickly. That was Spells, I believe.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yes, it was the big freshman, number 52, Ja'Cory Spell, 6'2, 255,
wearing that number 52 that Anthony Long, who's now one
of the D-line coaches, wore when he started as a
freshman here.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
So that makes it third down and 13 for the Panthers.
They're heading in the wrong direction here.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
Talked to Anthony the other week, guys, and he's very
excited to be on the staff here.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Three wideouts to the far side for the Panthers. One
to the near. LaMelo waits a snap. Falls on the
ground again. And this time he is able to fall
on it way back at the 30-yard line. But it'll
be fourth down and forever now for C.D.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
East.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
And they'll have to punt this thing again.

Speaker 7 (24:38):
These are the things you anticipate when you have a
new quarterback.

Speaker 6 (24:44):
But it's more than anticipated. It is just piling up.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Yeah, unfortunately you wonder, you know, not knowing... What East's
expectations were coming in. When did they know he was
going to be the guy? Because he's such a great athlete,
you would think if they would have worked on it
a little bit that he'd be a little bit better
off here than he is so far.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Chance back deep for Bishop McDevitt standing at the 33-yard line.
And here comes the punt. Some pressure. They do get
this one off. A high punt. Chance catches it at
the 34. He's got the 40, 45, 50.

Speaker 8 (25:18):
He read.

Speaker 6 (25:22):
He read the coverage by CeeDee East and just, you know,
went right when he needed to, left when he needed to.

Speaker 7 (25:27):
Next thing you know, about the 40-yard line, he's just
home free.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
234 left to play in the first quarter. McDevitt up 14-0.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
53 yards. Sorry, guys. 53 yards on the return.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
The Cedars in the red zone here now after the
chance punt return there. Three wideouts to the near side.
One back in the backfield for Bishop McDevitt. Sebastian Williams
awaits the snap, and he'll hand us off to Walker,
who comes around the corner on the far side, but
not a whole lot there for him. Got a yard
or two, and that's about it.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
This will be.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Second down and nine for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 8 (26:09):
Crusaders still in the huddle here. Play clock at 20.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
This time the Crusaders will have three wideouts to the
near side.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Walker, sorry, Walker really limped back to the huddle, and
he was looking over.

Speaker 6 (26:28):
Towards the sideline.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Sebastian Williams back to pass, has time. He comes to
the near side, and it's going to be sacked back
at the 20-yard line by number 50 of the Panthers.
That was Eneshe Gephardt. That's where the freshman has to
step up. So Sebastian takes a sack. Nice job there

(26:53):
defensively by the Panthers to get in there, and it
makes it third down and 18 for Bishop McDevitt. A
minute and a half left to play in the first quarter.
Crusaders still up 14-0. Three wideouts to the far side
for McDevitt. It's Thatcher Hansley out there for Bishop McDevitt.
One wide receiver to the near side. That's Holton Jr.
Sebastian back to pass. Fires one to the outside, and

(27:14):
this was an incomplete pass. He's tried to hit Ethan
Miller out here in the near side and just unable
to come up with it.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
It was actually Thatcher Hansley.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
You can tell by his reaction that that was right there.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, he has to catch that for sure.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
He needs to catch it.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Right in his hands.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
He knew it right away.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
That makes it fourth down and 18 for Bishop McDevitt.
A minute 10 left to play here in the first quarter.
Crusaders with three wideouts to the far side, one to
the near. Holton Jr., the receiver on the near side
by himself one back in the backfield with sebastian sebastian
back to pass has time fires one down the middle
of the field and this one is intercepted right around

(27:55):
the one yard line it looks like.

Speaker 7 (27:59):
Sebastian williams got hit in the elbows he released that
he signals that as he comes off here to the
side of it yeah he got hit and it just
the ball just kind of fluttered out there is.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
That leno on the interception guys.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Yes it was He did not a great job by
the offensive line on a lot of these plays early on,
giving up a lot of pressure on the right side
of the line there.

Speaker 6 (28:23):
Really seen a lot more pressure than what was called
last week at times. A surprise.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Which is, I was going to say, which is very
hard to believe.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
So the Panthers, deep into their own shadows, their own
end of the field here, as the ball is just
about the one-yard line, just outside the goal line. Devon
up 14-0. Three wideouts to the near side for the Panthers,
one to the far. Let's see if Lamel just takes
this one and runs forward. And they do exactly that,

(28:56):
and McDevitt gets in there. Is that going to be
a safety?

Speaker 1 (28:58):
It is!

Speaker 2 (28:59):
It's a safety for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
And that was actually Jaden Chase at quarterback number zero.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Crusaders go up 16-0 here now with 1-0-3 left to
play here in the first quarter. Jaden Chase just trying
to work forward and pick up yards, but the McDevitt
defense was not having any of it, guys, and it's
a 16-0 lead.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
It's his first snap in there, and I really think
in fairness, like I said, it's his first snap. He
tried to dance a little bit. You're in your own
end zone. You just got to go ahead and try
to at least get to the one-yard line.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
And it was Big 52. Ja'Cory Spells was the first
guy in. in there to make the initial hit, and
Chase kind of shook that off, and it was Creighton
Milch that ultimately tackled him in the end zone.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
So 16-0 Bishop McDevitt. Now the free kick from Central
Dolphin East back to Bishop McDevitt. So we await that.
They will kick off still from left to right on
the visitor side of things here at Landisfield. Not the

(30:14):
best plate first quarter for McDevitt. They still lead 16-0.

Speaker 8 (30:20):
Number 44, Dylan Jimenez.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
I think, guys, something that I find a little interesting
here is.

Speaker 7 (30:26):
East has been able to get rushed on Sebastian Williams.
And at the same time, you look in the secondary,
and there's a lot of good coverage.

Speaker 6 (30:34):
There are a lot of black shirts out there in
the secondary.

Speaker 7 (30:37):
So they're not rushing a ton of guys to break
down the front line, and they've been able to do it.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
So Jimenez will kick this one from the 20-yard line.
It's a nice kick. This one will go all the
way back to the 23-yard line where Bishop McDevitt will
pick that thing up there and bring it all the
way back to midfield. And that was, I think that
was Caden Walker, guys. Indeed it was as he gets
it back to midfield here. So again, great field position

(31:07):
for Bishop McDevitt. 55 seconds left to play in the
first quarter, and the Crusaders up 16-0 here at Landis Field.
Crusaders doing what they need to do, but need to
sharpen things up a little bit here in the second
quarter coming.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
Up here shortly.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Two wideouts to the near side for Bishop McDevitt. It's
Jonte Quick and Zayden Smith out here. It's like one
back in the backfield. I think that's McFarlane back there.
Sebastian Williams back to pass. Here comes the pressure, and
they look like they're great, Rob. Sebastian with a nice
job getting away from the defender there, but... holding on McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
That was just a flat-out monster rush there by Seed East.
I mean, they had two guys in there right away.
How Sebastian got away from that, he, you know, spun out,
and the East defender had a really good grip on it.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Ball goes all the way back to the about 39-yard
line or so of Bishop McDevitt, and the Crusaders with
a second down and 20, first down and 20.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Braden Wagner and Jake Minnick.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
Marty, though.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Two wideouts to the near side for Bishop McDevitt. One
to the far. Williams back to pass. A quick pass
to the outside to Smith. And he takes it down
the sideline. Stays inbounds and takes it to the house
for a Bishop McDevitt touchdown. 60 yards. And with 34
seconds left to play here in the first quarter, the
Crusaders are up 22-0.

Speaker 7 (32:40):
Good call on that because what McDevitt did there was...
They're not getting a lot of time to throw downfield.
They just did a quick out here.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
Smith makes the catch. There's only one. He just avoids
the one tackle. Interesting, guys, is he just ran away.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
He really showed an extra gear.

Speaker 7 (32:59):
I mean, he's at a dead stop. And he just, boom,
just ran away from him.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
And the stay-in bouncer, that was impressive, too, over on
the sideline there.

Speaker 8 (33:10):
Now.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
McDevitt getting ready to kick the extra point. I look
back over to the sideline and the late substitution issue
here for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (33:20):
That was an issue that.

Speaker 6 (33:24):
Was actually observed last week.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
That's one of the things that Coach Wechter and I
talked about, was making sure that everybody.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
Knows what's going on.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Lelinda with the extra point. It's up, and it is good.
So that makes it Bishop McDevitt 23-2. And Central Dolphin East,
nothing here with 34 seconds left to play here in
the first quarter. We'll keep things here. No one plans
to get sick or hurt. It just happens. And when
it does, Select Medical is here to help you heal,

(34:21):
it's been all Bish and McDevitt here in the first quarter.
And Central Dolph and East's defense has actually played somewhat
decent this first quarter. And McDevitt's just had some big
plays in these 23's in.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Well, I think it's pretty much as simple as the
fact of what we said earlier. And pregame, you know,
sometimes there's such a significant gap in personnel that even
if you have a good scheme and your guys are
playing hard and playing well, it's not always enough to
make up for that.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Crusaders will kick off towards the Colonial Park end of
the field here at Landis Field. Belinda out there ready
to kick off. Two men back deep for the Panthers.
And it's a line drive kick that will be fielded
around the 11 by the Panthers. They bring it back
to the 20. And McDevitt gets down there and defends

(35:15):
it well. That was number 11, Demir Wiley, on the
return for the Panthers. He'll get to the 19 where
he was tackled.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
And a great open field tackle by McDevitt's safety, Jaden Monkengill.
The starting strong safety who had a real nice game
in his first start last week with Six or seven
tackles off the top of my head, but he was
very active.

Speaker 6 (35:41):
Well, Gil showed some serious speed there, Rob.

Speaker 7 (35:44):
I mean, he was firing down the field and able to.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Return me and not to get wide at all.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
27 seconds left to play in the first quarter. McDevitt
up here, 23 to nothing. Panthers bring a man in motion,
and they will run this up the middle, and not
much there. A penalty flag comes flying in right in
the interior of the play there.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Chance Holmes on the stop for the Crusaders.

Speaker 6 (36:08):
It's got to be a hold or a face mask.

Speaker 8 (36:10):
I don't know what else it could be.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Holding against the defense. One of those odd calls.

Speaker 7 (36:20):
Well, I had holding, but I had the wrong team.
I mean, I was not assuming it was going to
be on McDevitt.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
You don't see that very often.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Not on a running play.

Speaker 8 (36:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
So holding on McDevitt's defense. And that will come up
to the 33-yard line. First and 10, Panthers at the
33-yard line as they try and work their way towards
the Union deposit end of the field here at Landis Field.

(36:52):
They have it up 23-zip. One wide out to each
side of the field. Actually, there's two wide outs over
on the far side for the Panthers. That is Chase
in there at quarterback. He bobbles the ball, is able
to pick it back up. And McDevitt stops him around
the 35-yard line or so. And that is how the

(37:14):
first quarter is going to end here at Landis Field here, guys.
Bishop McDevitt up 23-0 over Central Dolphin East. We'll switch
ends of the field when we return. You're listening to

Speaker 4 (38:02):
See you there!

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Harrisburg's elite high school football program. This is Bishop McDevitt
Football on Fox Sports 1460. All right, welcome.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Back to Landis Field here. Bishop McDevitt ahead of Central
Dolphin East, 23-0. Art Selby, Marty Bowman, Rob Pugliese, and
Eli Fessler back in the studios tonight.

Speaker 8 (38:53):
Donnie Bosco leads Roman to 14-0.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Panthers. Have it second down and eight as we begin
the second quarter here. Falls at the 35-yard line. Two
wideouts on the near side for the Panthers, one on
the far side. Chase in there at quarterback. They'll bring
a man in motion. That's Boyd. And they run this

(39:18):
one to the outside out here, and it's a good
run by the Panthers up and around midfield. That's number
22 for the Panthers, Littlejohn.

Speaker 6 (39:27):
Yeah, Littlejohn did a nice job coming off that left side, and.

Speaker 7 (39:30):
He avoided one shoestring tackle. And once he avoided that,
he's able to pick up some good solid yardage. Guys,
I looked at the McDevitt defense when they came off
the end of the first quarter. They looked like they
were walking off the end of the third quarter. That
humidity down there just must be Really.

Speaker 6 (39:49):
Stiff, I mean.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Yeah, it's definitely not pleasant to play in this.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
It's that first down and 10 for the Panthers ball
right at midfield. They drive towards the Colonial Park end
of the field. They'll bring a man in motion. Chase
will keep it himself. Comes to the near side. Stays
in bounds. Breaks free. 30, 25, 20. And knocked out
of bounds over in the far sideline down there.

Speaker 6 (40:16):
Chase on the quarterback keeper.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
I think that was, was that Milch on the tackle, guys?

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Creighton Milch.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
No, there's a flag down. And it is against the Panthers,
so this will come back.

Speaker 6 (40:34):
Kind of a tough break for CD East there. Good run.
Very close to just taking it to the house.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Give Creighton Milch a lot of credit. For running him
down and knocking him out of bounds. They're not giving
up on the play. Ball comes all the way back
to the 40-yard line.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
So they'll need 20 yards to pick up the first
down here.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Landed Moore as a wide out over in the far
side along with Bassett. A lamell on the near side
here with Has a wide receiver now. Chase awaits the snap.
He's got one back in the backfield. McDevitt threatens the blitz.
Here it comes. Chase is going to fire one down
the field. And this one is incomplete to Lamel. And

(41:30):
there is a penalty flag down.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
I think there's going to be defensive holding.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Yeah, definitely some contact down the field there. So that one,
as Rob said, probably against McDevitt there. The officials do
call holding against Bishop McDevitt's defense. 11-06 left to play.

(42:00):
First half, McDevitt up here 23-0. They'll spot this one
out at the 50-yard line.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
So now we're right back to first and ten.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
First and ten at midfield. Panthers driving towards the Colonial
Park end of the field here. Going right to left
from the visitor side of things here at Landisfield. Chase
going to keep it himself. Comes to the near side,
and McDevitt gets in there and hits him hard this time.
Several tacklers in there for Bishop McDevitt on that one, guys.

(42:31):
Never a penalty flag down, though.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
Chance Holmes in there, number 45, Chris Boyer. Also at
the point of attack, Elijah Sherman. Yeah, I have no
idea what this penalty is going to be.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Maybe a hold. I think it's going to be on McDevitt.
It is.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
I didn't see the signal of what it is, though.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Face mask against McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Face mask, but they marked off seven yards, though. They
marked it from the 50 to the 43. I'm not
quite sure.

Speaker 10 (43:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
So to bring a man in motion from the far
side to the near, that's Bassett. Line up two wideouts
on this side, one on the far side. Chase back
to pass, and his pass is tipped and incomplete as
he tried to throw it out to the far side.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
Chase's pass is going to be tipped by.

Speaker 8 (43:33):
Number five, Creighton Newell.

Speaker 6 (43:34):
The way that worked out was the penalties and everything.

Speaker 7 (43:36):
I think East had four straight first downs without a
first down.

Speaker 6 (43:41):
Four straight first down plays, I believe.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Milch tipped that one, guys. So that makes it second
and three, I believe.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
I think it should be third down, though.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
I felt so, too.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
I'm very confused about what's going on with the chain
crew again.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
So they have three wideouts on the far side. One
of them here. Chase under pressure, and he is. Back
at the 50-yard line, and I think that was Milch
in there again from McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (44:13):
Milch again. Not even, did not let go.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
Milch just turning into a dominating player here early on
in the.

Speaker 7 (44:23):
Season, guys.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
Yeah, I mean, I think I said to you guys,
just chatting, not on air, obviously, in one of our conversations,
that I said he could have a Lucas Lawler-type impact
on that pass rush and the plays he could make
this year. And early on, we're seeing that last week.
Nine tackles and two TFLs.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
So they will call it third and ten right at midfield.
Panthers with two wideouts on the near side, one to
the far. Bassett goes in motion again, and they will
hand this one off, and Bishop McDevitt gets in there
and shuts that thing down immediately.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Ja'Cory Spells swallowed him up. And Chance Holmes also in
the mix.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
I think that was little, John, on the carry there.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
Yes, it was.

Speaker 2 (45:12):
And he lost a yard. It'll be fourth down and 11.
It does appear they will punt. And John Tate quick
now back deep for Bishop McDevitt at around the 15-yard line.

Speaker 8 (45:22):
Number zero, John Tate quick back deep to receive.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
McDevitt up 23-zip, 9-12 left to play first half. And
another penalty flag comes flying out as this is a
booming high punt. Jonte Quick calls for a fair catch
and brings it down around the 20. And see what
that penalty flag is. Came out early there.

Speaker 8 (45:50):
Quick will make a fair catch right at the 20-yard line.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
31 yards on the punt with no return.

Speaker 8 (45:58):
Crusaders take over first and 10.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
Might be against CD East.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
We'll see.

Speaker 6 (46:02):
It is against East, and I think they're... going to
punt it again.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Yeah, I think Coach Wechter signaled he wanted them to
punt it again.

Speaker 7 (46:08):
This might be one of the most interesting possessions we've
ever seen. You probably have the number of plays, and
the ball is really just basically where they started at.

Speaker 6 (46:20):
Is it eight or nine?

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Nine plays.

Speaker 6 (46:21):
Nine plays. And like I said, they hit.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
It was something, Marty. I don't know if interesting is
the word I would use.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (46:33):
Did this start on there on 38? Am I right
on that? Closer to the 40.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
It did actually start at the 19, but there was
immediately that 10-yard penalty that put it out at the 33.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
It's fourth down and about 16 for the Panthers. And
here's the punt. Another high line draft kick. Jonte catches
it at the 20. Comes outside. He's got the 30.
And still on his feet. Finally tackled down at about
the 37-yard line. A nice return there for Bishop McDevitt.

(47:08):
And John Tate Quick does a nice job. Almost trips
over the chains over there on the near sideline.

Speaker 5 (47:15):
Out across the 35 to the 37.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
So Bishop McDevitt takes over leading this game 23-0 and
8.50 left to play in the first half. And they
will drive towards the Union deposit end of the field
here now at Landis Field.

Speaker 8 (47:28):
36 yards on the punt. 18 on the return.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
36-yard punt and 18 on the return officially, guys. Here
comes the Crusaders offense back onto the field. Feels like
it's been a while since we've seen them.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
Number 10, Leighton Black into the game at running back
here on this series.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Jontae Quick, Zayden Smith out on the far side as
receivers for Bishop McDevitt. That's Holton Jr. on the near side.
Sebastian fires one to the outside and Holton Jr. has
it at the 47-yard line, first down Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
Just perfect execution there. The offensive line did a really
nice job that time picking up the blitz. Sebastian able
to step in, and Howard Holton Jr., just such a
technician as a route runner, Marty. Perfect route. Pulls it in,
gets up field for another three yards or so across midfield.

Speaker 7 (48:27):
And Eli Culpepper and Kevin Devan on this right side.

Speaker 6 (48:32):
Tackle and guard.

Speaker 7 (48:33):
Getting some protection there for Sebastian Williams.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Smith and Quick out on the far side. And now
as the ball is snapped, the penalty flag comes flying in.
And we'll see what that one is. I think it's
going to be against them, against CD East. And it
is as though March is winning. So that'll bring it
down to the 43-yard line at Central Dolphin East. 8-18

(49:01):
left to play first quarter. McDevitt up 23-zip. Sebastian Williams
on the near side talking here of Coach Wechter. So
Crusaders look to drive down here and put some more
points on the board. And I think we're going to
have a timeout here, guys, by Bishop McDevitt. So we'll
take one. as well here. McDevitt up 23-0, 8.05 left

(49:22):
to play first half. You are listening to Bishop McDevitt

Speaker 1 (50:03):
The blue and gold play right here on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here where Bishop
McDevitt leads Central Dolphin East 23 to nothing. 8.05 left
to play here in the first half. Lucia McDevitt with
a first down and 10 at the 43-yard line of
Central Dolphin East. It's a drive from left to right
in front of us from the visitor's side of things
here at Landis Field. Crusaders go with two wideouts to

(50:33):
the far side. And one to the near side, one
back in the backfield. Sebastian Williams back to pass. Going
to go for one down the field. He's got his
man and just overthrew Jontae Quick over on the far
side and incomplete.

Speaker 8 (50:47):
Jontae Quick.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
Real close, guys, just a little bit off on the
timing there.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
Yeah, Quick had his man beat by a couple steps there. Again,
another nice job by the offensive line, so that's good
to see after some of their struggles early on here.

Speaker 7 (51:10):
Rob, Thomas Desjardins, Vaughn, the center snapping here, and as
I was thinking this through earlier, I don't recall a
bad snap last week.

Speaker 8 (51:19):
No.

Speaker 6 (51:20):
He's got a lot on those snaps, too.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Yes, he does, and he's a guy that the coaching
staff's very high on here as a junior now.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
Sebastian Williams fakes the handoff. Going to go for it
all on the near side, and he's got his man
for a Bishop McDevitt touchdown, Harold Holton Jr. The Crusaders
go up 29-0, 7.53 left to play here in the
first half. Call that a 43, I guess.

Speaker 11 (51:38):
I had 42, but 43, what a beautiful throw by
Sebastian Williams.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
And Holton Jr., H2, just had his man burned badly there.
And I want to give credit to Xavier McFarlane for
the blitz pickup, number seven, to make it all possible.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
Linda Ono attempt the extra point for Bishop McDevitt as
they lead now 29-0. 7.53 left to play here in
the first half. Going to raft the holder for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 8 (52:15):
On to the extra point attempt.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
And the kick is up, and it is good. So
the Crusaders go up 30-0, 7.53 left to play in
the first half. We'll take a break. You're listening to
Bishop McDevitt Football here on Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
Thanks for listening to Bishop McDevitt Football.

Speaker 4 (53:12):
Now, back to the field.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here where Bishop
McDevitt now leads CD East 30-0. Sebastian Williams with a
43-yard touchdown pass to Harold Holden Jr. And the Crusaders
now up 30-0. Art Selby, Marty Bowman, Rob Pugliese, and
Eli Fessler back in the studio here tonight. Lou Linda
will kick off here for Bishop McDevitt towards the Union

(53:37):
Deposit end of the field here at Landis Field.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
Sebastian Williams now 8 of 11 for 180 yards and
four touchdowns. And much like last week, guys, he's thrown
to six different Crusaders, really spreading the ball around.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
Kick is fielded. It's a 13-yard line by Bassett, and
Bassett will take it up to about the 21-yard line,
it looks like, before he's tackled down there in the
middle of the field.

Speaker 3 (54:06):
Number 13, Ethan Miller, the senior inside linebacker there on
the solo stop.

Speaker 2 (54:15):
So the Panthers take over now as they will drive
towards the Colonial Park end of the field here. Down
30 to nothing. 7.48 left to play first half. Coming
up at halftime, Eli Fessler will have some scores for
us back in the studio.

Speaker 7 (54:32):
Any Phillies fans out there not paying attention? Phillies were
down 3-1 until a minute ago. Alec Bone went yard.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
So it's 3-2 Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Getting a text from our buddy J.C.

Speaker 8 (54:43):
Floyd.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
I think he liked that last touchdown pass as he
just texted me sweet on that pass to Harold Holton Jr.
Chase will keep it himself and picks up a couple
yards for the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (54:58):
Chance Holmes, number four again, calling his name quite a
bit tonight.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
Spotted at the 24-yard line, second down and seven for
Central Dolphin. He's 7'20 left to play. And McDevitt up 30-0.
Panthers with one wide out on the near side. Looks
like they have two guys out on the far side
out there. One back in the backfield with Chase. He
awaits the snap. And he will hand this one off.

(55:27):
And Bishop McDevitt takes him down immediately in the backfield
for a loss. That was Little John on the carry, guys.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Great milch with another tackle for loss.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
Milt's just turning into a dominating player right in front
of us.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
Yep, and not to really pat myself on the back
too hard, but I called it in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Rob, we'll pat you on the back for that, Rob, yes.
Ball is at the 23-yard line. Third down and eight
for the Panthers. Clock ticks under six and a half
left in the first half. Panthers with two wideouts on
each side of the field, one back in the backfield.
Chase awaits a snap. He's going to keep it himself,

(56:11):
takes it to the middle, and not much there as
Bishop McDevitt defends that. Well, just a couple yards.

Speaker 7 (56:18):
Chance Holmes just would have none of that. He was
in there quick and able to just zero in.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
So it's fourth down and fourth. They're a seedy east,
and it does appear they will punt. And John Tate quick,
back deep for Bishop McDevitt. Standing around his 40. Crusaders

(56:47):
up 30-0 here now as that clock ticks. Low snap.
And they do get the punt off. It's a high
punt that Jontae will let this one bounce. And it
will finally roll dead about the 35-yard line or so,
maybe the 34. And that's where Bishop McDevitt will set
up shop here with 5.28 left to play. here in

(57:09):
the first half at Landis Field.

Speaker 6 (57:11):
Chante Quick, always looking for the advantage, guys.

Speaker 7 (57:14):
He was telling the ref that that ball hit a
CBE's guy at about the 37-yard line.

Speaker 6 (57:19):
He was trying to get those two yards.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
He was looking for it.

Speaker 8 (57:22):
He said not flame him.

Speaker 3 (57:24):
You've got to like that.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
It's a 38-yard punt for Central Dolphin East. No return
there for Bishop McDevitt. Ball's just shy of the 35,
and here comes the Crusaders' offense back onto the field.
With a 30-0 lead, Jaunte Quick, the wideout on the
near side here for Bishop McDevitt. Caden Walker in there.

(57:48):
That running back, Sebastian Williams, waits a snap. He'll give
this one to Walker, and Walker dives forward up to
about the 43-yard line. Hung the ball out there a
little bit for a second. I was holding my breath
out when the ball might pop out, but he was
able to hang on to it.

Speaker 7 (58:06):
I don't recall seeing Caden Walker for a little while
since he had that injury going the other way in
the first quarter when he really limped back to the huddle,
but certainly didn't show any.

Speaker 6 (58:17):
Ill effects there.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Second and three for Bishop McDevitt, and another handoff over
on the far side, and Walker tackled down shy of
the first down. Needed about two more there and it'll
be third down for Bishop McDevitt. Milch will check in
here for Bishop McDevitt. Zaden Smith checks out here on

(58:42):
the near side as does Caden Walker. Crusaders break huddle
here on third down and a long two. At the
43-yard line, Jaunte Quick out here in the near side
is a wide out, one wide out on the far side.
And the Crusaders are going to run this up the

(59:03):
middle for a first down as they take that one
up the field. And that was number 7 Xavier McFarland
on the carry for a first down for McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (59:13):
The line doing what they.

Speaker 7 (59:14):
Needed to do gave him a little bit of a
crease he did what he needed to do and pick
up 4 of 5 and secure the first.

Speaker 8 (59:21):
Down first and 10 McDevitt at the 48 yard line.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
They drive towards the Union deposit end of the field.

Speaker 3 (59:30):
Yeah, Creighton Milch was in there as a blocking back
on that play, Marty, and he followed him, and Thatcher
Hansley also leading the way.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
Sebastian waits to snap. He's got one wide out to
each side of the field now. Penalty flags come flying
in here as the ball is snapped. 3.42 left to
play first half. McDevitt's up 30-zip. False start, Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (59:59):
Kind of kicking out of that because the official turned
and faced towards CeeDee East and was getting ready to
walk it that way.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Ball comes back to the 43-yard line. First down and 15,
Bishop McDevitt. Holton Jr. out on the far side out
there for the Crusaders. And it's Jaunte Quick on the
near side. Sebastian Williams will hand this one off to McFarland.
And McFarland... With a powerful run pushing the ball forward,

(01:00:32):
they finally blow it dead at the 49-yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
And Xavier McFarlane's been the most effective back tonight. Three
carries for 17 yards.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Nice powerful run on that one.

Speaker 6 (01:00:47):
Yeah, he showed some of the work in the weight
room for over.

Speaker 8 (01:00:51):
The winter on that one.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
Ball's at the 49-yard line. It's second and nine for
Bishop McDevitt. Again, one wide out to each side of
the field for the Crusaders. And that McFarland in the
backfield back there. Sebastian has hit from behind. Ball's on
the ground. I think McDevitt recovered it.

Speaker 8 (01:01:16):
Yeah, Andre Mena recovered it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Just swatted that thing out of Sebastian Tan there on
that one. Fortunately, may not be able to recover it
for the Crusaders.

Speaker 7 (01:01:33):
He had Holton running the streak on the far side,
and I think he was cranking it up, getting ready
to put it out.

Speaker 6 (01:01:40):
There for him.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
Makes it third down and 19 for Bishop McDevitt. Two
minutes left to play in the first half. It's 30-zip McDevitt.
Crusaders with three wideouts to the near side this time.
One to the far. McFarland in the backfield with Sebastian Williams.
Williams back to pass. Has time. Here comes the pressure
and they get to him again. Back at around the

(01:02:03):
38 yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
That's three sacks now in the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
And Looks like CD East will take a timeout here
of a minute 35. Left to play in the first half,
and McDevitt up here 30-0. Bishop McDevitt football is brought

Speaker 8 (01:02:48):
We have a big round of applause for our youth cheerleaders.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
The team's slowly making their way back onto the field here.
As we're a minute 35 away from halftime, McDevitt up
30 to nothing.

Speaker 7 (01:03:02):
The offensive line guys, they just got invited to a
picnic tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (01:03:11):
And that was.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
As happy as Coach Wechter was when he talked to you, Marty,
about the effort of the team last week is probably
about how unhappy he is with the way.

Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
He was very unhappy there.

Speaker 7 (01:03:22):
He came and personally introduced himself.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
I don't think there's going to be a lot of
snacks at that picnic for anybody to eat.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
Yeah, this is not good.

Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
Another penalty flag over on the far side. Good news
is McDevitt up 30-0. And Crusaders in a fourth down
and forever. And now another. That's a false start call
on McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
And that's six penalties now for 45 yards. Speaking of
things that Coach Weck's not going to be happy about.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
You don't quite often see Bishop McDevitt with a fourth
down and 25. And the Crusaders will punt this one.
And this John Tate Quick is in there now. More
penalty flags.

Speaker 6 (01:04:12):
Illegal procedure, McDevitt.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
And the Crusaders moving backwards.

Speaker 7 (01:04:23):
Chalk this up to the heat and humidity maybe, guys?

Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
I mean, it's certainly not sharp. Let's put it that way.

Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
I don't know. I just, like I said pregame, mentally,
got to be mentally locked in. In a game like
this that's, you know, not supposed to be a big test,
but you can't develop bad habits.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
And again, another penalty flag thrown.

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
I don't know that I've ever seen this before.

Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
Jonte back to punch from McDevitt, and the flags just
keep flying. Another false start against Bishop McDevitt. Jonte all
the way back at the 10-yard line now. Crusaders with

(01:05:10):
the ball. Way back at their 23-yard line. Lamel back
deep for Central Dolphin East. Clock stops. A minute 29
left to play first half. McDevitt led 23-0 at the

(01:05:31):
end of the first quarter. And they would score on
the touchdown pass to Harold Holton Jr. from Sebastian Williams
this quarter to make it 30-zip. And that's where we're
just We still stand here.

Speaker 7 (01:05:43):
I wonder if there was a time issue here, because
the line judge on the far side called the head
ref over, and they went over to the CD's bench,
talked to somebody over there.

Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
Remember the last time McDevitt had a 4th and 35.
Jonte with a high, high punt that will come down
around the 47-yard line, takes a roll from McDevitt, still
rolling into the 40-yard line is where they will down this.

Speaker 7 (01:06:12):
And Jonte got 36 of those 35.

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
Yeah, nice job by Jonte there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
McFarlane downs it for Bishop McDevitt. So Central Dolph and
East now with the ball at their own 40 as
they will drive towards the Colonial Park end of the
field here. Trail and 30 zip. A minute 23 left
to play first half. Let's see if McDevitt's defense can
get one more stop here before the end of the half.

(01:06:42):
I believe each team has two timeouts left.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
Exactly right, Art, yes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Two wideouts to the near side for Central Dolphin East.
Little John comes in the backfield for the Panthers. And
Chase will hand this one off to Bassett over in
the far sideline. Bassett with a nice job gets up
to the 49-yard line. Got nine. And a second down

(01:07:12):
and one for the Panthers. Stays in bounds as the
clock ticks. Minute eight left to play.

Speaker 8 (01:07:18):
First half.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Two wide outs to the near side as Marty's over
here watching the Phillies game. And here's a run to
the far side by... Quarterback Chase picks up the first
down to the 48-yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Ethan Miller on the stop there for the Crusaders.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Two wideouts to the near side, one to the far
for the Panthers, and Chase just kind of bats that
thing down. I think they took a timeout.

Speaker 8 (01:07:55):
So 41 seconds left to play.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
In the first half here. Bishop McDevitt up 30-0. Ball
at the 49-yard line of Bishop McDevitt. Panthers looking over
on the far side over there. Trying to get some clarification.

(01:08:21):
Jaden Chase in there, quarterback. He's got two wideouts to
the near side. Bassett and Moore. And he will keep
it himself to the right side, and Bishop McDevitt immediately
shuts it down for a loss back at the 47-yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:08:36):
I think he wanted to possibly run an option there,
but he would not even be able to get rid.

Speaker 8 (01:08:41):
Of the ball.

Speaker 7 (01:08:42):
McDevitt had three defenders right there.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
Princeton Kanama, the linebacker, the junior, number 18, getting in
there for the TFL. Of course, he had a good
game last week with interception.

Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
36 seconds left to play. First half. Crusaders up 30-0.
No one plans to get sick or hurt. It just happens.
And when it does, Select Medical is here to help

(01:09:46):
making their way back on the field here. 36 seconds
left to play. First half, it's third down and 13
for Central Dolphin East as they look towards the Colonial
Park end of the field here at Landis Field. One
wide out on the far side, two in the near,
but now that's Bassett. He goes in motion, chased back
to pass, fires one down the field, and it looked

(01:10:08):
like Little John was in the vicinity and just tripped.

Speaker 7 (01:10:12):
Yeah, unfortunately for East, Little John just tripped over the
40-yard line, and he might have had a shot at it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
So it makes it four from 13, 31 seconds left
to play.

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
Marty, since you were watching, what is the Phillies' score
right now?

Speaker 8 (01:10:29):
3-2. 3-2 Braves.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
John T. Quick back deep for Bishop McDevitt at his
20-yard line. The Crusaders have 31 seconds left to work
with here. Let's see if John T. could break one here.
And here's the punt. Another high punt. Jontae will let
this bounce. And this one will roll all the way

(01:10:59):
inside the 5-yard line down to the 2-yard line. So
that'll probably do it for the first half. Only 19
seconds left in the first half. McDevitt takes over inside
their 5.

Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
I don't understand why Jontae didn't catch the ball there.
Just fair catch it.

Speaker 8 (01:11:16):
49 yards on the punt.

Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
So you'd think McDevitt would just run this out here
with 19 seconds left. And a 30-0 lead. The Crusaders
will kick off to start the second half. Crusaders offense
back onto the field here. 30-0.

Speaker 6 (01:11:40):
And we.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Will take.
Our halftime break, we'll have our halftime show for you
coming up next. Bishop McDevitt leads 30-0 over Central Dolphin East.
You're listening to Bishop McDevitt Football here on Fox Sports
1460 and iHeart Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
Crusading for another ring.

Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
This is Bishop McDevitt Football on Fox Sports 1460 and
iHeart Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here. We're Bisham
McDevitt leading Central Dolphin East 30-0 at the half. Both
teams back onto the field here. McDevitt in front of
us on the near sideline and the Panthers of CD
East warming up in the end zone to our left.
It's been all Bisham McDevitt here so far in the
first half as they lead 30-0. We had Sebastian hitting

(01:12:38):
Jonte Quick from 33 yards out for a touchdown, a
10-yard pass to Xavier McFarland for another touchdown. McDevitt had
the safety in there with Creighton Milch with the tackle
in the end zone. And then Zayden Smith, a 60-yard
touchdown reception, made it 23-0 McDevitt. And then Sebastian Williams
to Harold Holton Jr. from 43 yards to make it
30-0 Bishop McDevitt. Some thoughts here on the first half.

(01:13:02):
The Panthers have done a nice job of Caden Walker
slowing him down here tonight. Xavier McFarland has definitely been
the better of the two running backs or the three
running backs here tonight. for Bishop McDevitt. Creighton Milch all
over the field, guys, in the first half defensively, just
a dominating force, and he's going to be really something
by the end of the season here, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
Yeah, Creighton Milch and Chance Holmes both really having big
first halves at the end spot, and really like what
I saw from Ja'Cory Spells, the freshman defensive tackle was
really active and getting in the backfield in the first
half as well.

Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
The That's my train of thought.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
Marty's still here watching the Phillies game.

Speaker 6 (01:13:46):
No, no, it's not the Phillies this time.

Speaker 7 (01:13:49):
I had a thought while you guys were talking, and
I just, oh, I was just going to talk about Sebastian,
who I thought had a really good first half, and
the only, his interception, his arm was hit on that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
Right, that's correct.

Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Real interesting scene in front of us guys here. It's
something you really don't see. at halftime you usually see
this pregame coach wechter has gathered the entire team together
and we obviously have no idea what he's telling them
but my suspicion is you know marty what we were
talking about earlier is he was not happy with that
first half and he's letting everybody know what he's expecting

(01:14:27):
here from the second half.

Speaker 2 (01:14:30):
Yeah you want the crusaders to clean things up here
in the second half uh Put this into the mercy
roll and get out of here healthy and to clean
things up, as you guys were talking about, because State
College is a week away. One of the biggest two
games of the season for Bishop McDevitt next Friday night
over at Rocker Tenzio Stadium. We'll have that game for
you at 6.30. The pregame show, 7 o'clock kickoff on

(01:14:53):
Fox Sports 1460. Rob Pugliese will go back to the
PA over at Rocker Tenzio Stadium. Rob, you do a
fantastic job over there, by the way.

Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
Thank you, Art. I appreciate it. I really do appreciate that.
Just one thing I wanted to mention about some of
our alums. Last night, Thursday night football in college, Nevin
Hopkins playing for California PA had a 41-yard pick six
last night and also a fumble recovery that he took

(01:15:26):
back 25 yards. So he's off to a good start up.
Cade Werner was named a captain this year at Marist.
The linebacker, he had 11 tackles last Saturday, I think
two TFLs, so great starts for those guys. Obviously, tomorrow's
a big day. Riley Rebell starting at center for UCLA
on national TV tomorrow against Cal, and Stone Saunders out

(01:15:50):
with Matt Johnson. San Diego State comes into the year
as the number two quarterback, and I also want to
mention Rico Scott earned a starting spot with Alabama this year.
He'll be in the lineup tomorrow for the Crimson Tide.

Speaker 6 (01:16:01):
We appreciate those updates. That's some real good stuff, Rob.

Speaker 7 (01:16:04):
That is some really credit to this program from Bishop McDevitt. Oh,
and I did figure out on the meeting from Coach Wechter,
just reminded him not to be late for that picnic tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (01:16:16):
You do not be the one walking in at 9.01.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
All right, here's the kickoff from Lelinda. It's fumbled, but
CD East does pick it up. They bring it back
to the 15. That's Bassett. Bassett out here in the
near side. And McDowell knocks him down at around the
26-yard line or so. So the Panthers will start this
drive from their own 26-yard line as they will drive
towards the Colonial Park end of the field. Trail on

(01:16:42):
30-0 here as we start the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
And that was Princeton-Kanama, number 18, the linebacker. On kick
coverage for the Crusaders. So, guys, I want to point
out right now, number 16, Ellis Kunzerath, in their corner
to start the half, and we see DeVar Chance over
here walking with the trainer, Rochelle Blakely, with no helmet on.

(01:17:04):
So it appears that DeVar's out of the football game.

Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Jayden Chase still in there at quarterback for the Panthers.
They have two wideouts on the near side, one to
the far. Now they'll bring a man in motion. That's Madden.
And McDevitt gets in there and shuts that thing down
in the backfield with a big loss. Ethan Miller in
there on the tackle for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
And that was all Ja'Cory Spells with the initial hit.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
And a huge loss for the Panthers on the first
play there.

Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
And as you pointed out, Ethan Miller, the second man in.

Speaker 8 (01:17:42):
All the way back to the 21-yard line, second and
16 for Central Dolphin East's.

Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
Rob, you're pointing it out accurately. A lot of freshmen and.

Speaker 7 (01:17:56):
Sophomores, not only just being on the field, but being
involved in almost every play.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
Making plays.

Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
Madden goes in motion. It'll be Chase to keep it himself.
Takes it up the middle, and not much there. I
think Creighton Milch was in there on that tackle for McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
Milch and also... Chris Boyer, number 45, the senior defensive tackle.

Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
And it's third down and 13 for CD East.

Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
Chris Boyer, one of my St. Margaret Mary guys, Marty.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
So the Panthers break huddle here with two wideouts to
the near side, one to the far. Chase with one
back in the backfield. Now they'll go in motion with Bassett.
Chase rolls to the far side, fires one out. to Bassett,
and he has no shot of going anywhere as there's
like seven or eight defenders that take him down.

Speaker 8 (01:18:55):
Bassett was like, that's a no thank you. That was
another picnic I wouldn't want invited to on that.

Speaker 4 (01:18:59):
One, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
John Tate quick back at midfield here. We'll await this punt.
Clock ticks down to 9. 45 left to play in
the third. McDevitt up 30 to nothing. So we await
the punt. And they do get it off. Line drive kick.

(01:19:34):
John Tate catches it to 44. Comes to the near side.
He's got the 50. 45 turns the corner. He's got
the 30. And I think he stepped out of bounds
somewhere in there around the 30. Nice return by Jontae Quick.
Penalty flag is down. Way too many flags here tonight, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
The flag's at the end of the run, right?

Speaker 6 (01:20:06):
No, it actually came out real early at that end
of the field, yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:20:09):
Illegal formation against the Kiki team.

Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
And looks like a player down over on the far
side of the field.

Speaker 7 (01:20:23):
Good pursuit there by Seed East on Caden Walker, not
letting him get outside.

Speaker 6 (01:20:27):
And do damage.

Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
And again, there was another situation there where one of
the McDevitt receivers on the edge, guys, did not make
his block. And that's what cause that play to get
disrupted right away.

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
They spotted it at the 24-yard line. It's a yard
loss for Bishop McDevitt. 9-11 left to play in the third.
Crusaders up 30-0 here. They tend to the Panther player
over there. As we've mentioned several times tonight, next Friday night,
State College comes to Rockwell-Tenzio Stadium for the second straight year,

(01:21:03):
and Bishop McDevitt defeated them last year in the big
game in week three of the season this year. State
College looks to be, from the score I heard earlier,
it looks like they'll be 2-0 as they come to
Rockport Tenzio Stadium next week. And obviously it looks very
much like Bishop McDevitt will be 2-0 as well.

Speaker 3 (01:21:23):
State College with a lot coming back in all areas
of the team. Of course, Connor Kolka, quarterback who was
one of the better quarterbacks in the state last year,
is back. Along with A.J. Fry, big play guy Receiver
and D-back again in really, really big physical and mobile
offensive and defensive lines. We'll test McDevitt sternly next week.

Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
I think that was Robert Bendo that walked off the
field under his own power over there on the far side.

Speaker 8 (01:21:52):
For the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
Good news is he was able to walk off under
his own power. Two wideouts to the near side for McDevitt,
one to the far, one back in the backfield with Sebastian.
Back to pass. Here comes a pressure hit as he throws.
He's got a man wide open, but it's out of bounds.
And as I mentioned, Sebastian was hit as he released
that one. Tried to hit Zayden Smith in the corner

(01:22:17):
of the end zone. And makes it third and 11
for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (01:22:21):
Smith was almost wide open when he left the line
of scrimmage.

Speaker 7 (01:22:24):
I mean, I looked over there, he had seven, eight yards,
and I thought, well, this is a touchdown, but.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Crusaders break huddle. Third and 11. 8.53 left to play
in the third. Leading 30-0. Need one more score to
put this in the mercy roll situation. Three wide outs
to the near side. One to the far. Sebastian Williams
awaits the snap. Back to pass. Has time. Fires it
over the middle. He's got a man wide open. And

(01:22:51):
they will walk into the end zone for a Bishop
McDevitt touchdown. And that makes it 36-0. That's Jaunte Quick, guys.

Speaker 6 (01:22:58):
Jaunte Quick shook free. coming across the middle.

Speaker 7 (01:23:02):
Once again, no one really within 10 yards of him.
And Sebastian shoved the arm off a little bit on
that one.

Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
Yeah, he really put a lot on that ball.

Speaker 6 (01:23:10):
He put a cannon in there.

Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
His fifth touchdown pass two weeks in a row.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
So that's 24 yards to make it 36-0 Bishop McDevitt.
Belinda Ono attempt the extra point, come to raft the holder.
And here's the kick. It's a line drive kick that

(01:23:36):
does not go through the uprights. So McDevitt will keep
a 36-0 lead here with 8.47 left to play in
the third quarter. Let's take a break. You're listening to
Bishop McDevitt Football here on Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio.

Is this for your son's birthday again, Mr.

Speaker 8 (01:24:03):
Smith?

Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Um, yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:24:05):
And no dye packs this time?

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
Thanks.

Speaker 6 (01:24:07):
No dye packs. You got it.

This is Bishop McDevitt Football on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
Sebastian Williams with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jontae Quick.
The extra point was no good, but Bishop McDevitt now
up 36-0. 847 left to play in the third here
over CD East here at Landis Field, and the Crusaders
will kick off towards the Union Deposit end of the
field here, guys. Two men back deep for Central Dolphin East.

(01:24:58):
This is a short kick. This will be caught by
one of the up men, That's number four over there,
I believe. That's Moore, and he's tackled down by the
ankle in the middle of the field around the 30-yard line.

Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
It would almost appear, Art, that Wector wanted to get
that ball right back. You saw the way they came
lined up, kind of bunched up a little bit there
in the middle of the field with the kicker.

Speaker 6 (01:25:22):
And at high pooch, I think it's.

Speaker 7 (01:25:24):
One you experiment with to see if your speedsters up
there can outrun the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
The ball just shy of the 30-yard line. 8.40 left
to play, and now the clock ticks here with McDevitt
up by 36. 36 is it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
And guys, freshman defensive tackle, Pierre Corey, number 73. Big
freshman in there now at defensive tackle this series. One
of the freshmen that they're really high on.

Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Lamell and Bassett come out here on the near side
as wideouts for the Panthers. And now another stoppage of
play here.

Speaker 6 (01:26:09):
Timeout by East.

Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
And Matthew wins in there at the other defensive tackle.
So we're seeing the staff put some other guys in
here now.

Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
8-14 left to play in the third. Let's take our
second timeout of the third quarter. McDevitt up 36-0. You're

Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
Stronger together, unstoppable as one.

Speaker 1 (01:27:08):
This is Bishop McDevitt Football on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
As we return to Landis Field here, quarterback Jayden Chase
takes it up the field. And runs in to Zayden Smith,
who just pounds him into the ground on a hard
tackle there, guys.

Speaker 6 (01:27:26):
I have to say, he squared up on him.

Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
Oh, big time.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Textbook.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
And drove him through the turf.

Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
Gets to the 34-yard line. It'll be second down and
six for the Panthers. Two wideouts to each side of
the field. Chase awaits the snap. Fires one to the
outside and... Somehow that one is complete up to the
42-yard line to number five, Lamel. I thought that one

(01:27:56):
might be picked, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
Yeah, not a lot on that. Ellis Kunterath in coverage.
I thought he might be able to break on that
and make a play.

Speaker 7 (01:28:05):
I think pretty much up here with the coaches and
all three of us thinking the same thing, that he
was going to break on that.

Speaker 6 (01:28:12):
And pick it off.

Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
Ball's at the 43-yard line. First down and 10 for East.
Seven minutes left to play in the third. Dev it
up 36-0. They'll bring Bassett in motion from the near
side to the far, and they'll run this up the middle.
And Little John takes it up the field for a
nice gain of about four or five on that one, guys.

Speaker 8 (01:28:37):
Yeah, Ellis Kuntz are out there.

Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
On the stop.

Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
So they give him 4 on that one and spot
it at the 47 yard line as the Panthers drive
towards the Colonial Park end of the field here at
Landis Field.

Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
Two wide receivers on each side of the field for
a See the east one back in the backfield with
quarterback Chase. Chase back to pass. Fires one down the field,
and this one is incomplete. It's closer to an interception
than a completion.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
We keep calling out Ellis Kunterath, and again, he was
there in coverage. And as you point out, he was
closer to the football than the receiver, Amir Lamel, was.
Rotation continues. They brought Ja'Cory Spells and Chris Boyer In
on the D-line the last couple plays, and now Chance

(01:29:33):
Holmes comes back in. Brian Stewart in there.

Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
Panthers with one wide out on the near side, two
in the far. Now Chase is going to keep it himself,
tries to get to the near sideline, and he is
shut down immediately over here on the near side.

Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Princeton-Kanama. Very active again from his linebacker spot. And Ellis
Kunzerath again coming up and getting involved.

Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
No gain on the play. Makes it fourth down and
six for CD East.

Speaker 6 (01:30:09):
Tanama was going to make sure on that.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:30:11):
He had a chance to take a lick, and he did.
Take a lick, I should say. He was going to
make sure.

Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
It appears they're going to go for it here. Play
clock is down to ten. Chase awaits the snap here.
He's got three wide outs to the far side. Back
to pass. Fires one over the middle and tried to
hit Lamel. It's incomplete down the middle of the field.

(01:30:39):
And Bishop McDevitt will take over. 445 left to play
in the third. It's Bishop McDevitt, 36, CD East, nothing
as the Crusaders will take over on possession here.

Speaker 7 (01:30:58):
You know, on the lighter side, guys, this would be
a good night for an ice bucket challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Can't disagree.

Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Anything involving ice right now would be great, Marty.

Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Crusaders back onto the field here now. Harold Holton Jr.
out on the far side. Jonte Quick on the near side.

Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
Got Layden Black in there at tailback.

Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
Sebastian awaits a snap. And they give it to Black,
takes it up the middle with a nice run, gets
down to the 41-yard line, gain a six for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
Rob at left side did a nice job there for McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
Yeah, Andre Maynard at left tackle and Landon Colbert at
left guard. Clearly the strength of that O-line along Thomas
Desjardins Bonnet Center. Andre Maynard, guys, getting his ninth Division
I offer this week from the Purdue Boilermakers out of
the Big Ten.

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Nice. One wide out to each side of the field
for Bishop McDevitt here. Going in motion for the Crusaders
there is Hansley. And they will run this one up
the middle again to Black. Black takes it down to
the 36-yard line, maybe to 37. Should be a first
down for Bishop McDevitt. And it is.

Speaker 6 (01:32:19):
Here goes the sticks.

Speaker 7 (01:32:22):
Or another lighter side. I know you don't keep me
around for my knowledge here. I figure that's why you
had me here for 20 years. Should we get to
the West in the state semifinals this year to Altoona,
we're not going to have the pancake house to go
to in state college anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
Yeah, you hit me with that there tonight, Marty. The
IHOP up there, we always stop at after the Western
final there, closed back at the end of December. Here's
a handoff for Bishop McDevitt. down to the 31-yard line.
And it's Black again with three nice runs here for
Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:32:56):
And they've got something going this drive, guys, with Zayden
Smith and Thatcher Hansley both in there, kind of as wingbacks, compact,
and Thatcher coming in kind of in motion across the
formation and stopping and then leading through the hole. So
Smith and Hansley helping to key the run game, and
Layden Black with three consecutive carries of five yards.

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Marty, we went out on top with a victory over
Peters Township and got to celebrate that at the IHOP
last year.

Speaker 6 (01:33:27):
I just wish I'd known they were going out of business.

Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
Hansley goes in motion for McDevitt. Sebastian will hand this
one off to McFarland. McFarland up the middle. Inside the 10.
Inside the 5. And he is in for a Bishop
McDevitt touchdown. Run of the night there for Bishop McDevitt.
Xavier McFarland.

Speaker 6 (01:33:46):
What a cut.

Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
32 yards. And it's 42-0 McDevitt, guys.

Speaker 7 (01:33:50):
Start off that left side, the two guys out there
you just mentioned, Rob, and the cut right back there,
and then he just outran anybody in the secondary. I
thought that might have been the best burst I've seen
out of McFarlane.

Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
Oh, yeah. Four carries for 49 yards, and, of course,
he had a touchdown as a receiver earlier, so it's
the second time he's in the end zone tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
The Holder, Lulinda Anno, attempt the extra point. This time
the kick is up, and it is good. So Bishop
McDevitt up now 43-0 with 2.25 left to play in third.
And now the Crusaders rolling here a bit now here
with the lead. In this tough economy, businesses need an
edge to acquire more customers and drive more revenue. And

(01:34:38):
nonprofits need an angle to exponentially grow and acquire larger donations.

now leads 43-0, 225 left to play in the third quarter.
Xavier McFarland, a 42-yard run there. And McDevitt now up 43-0.

(01:35:21):
They've had two scores here in the third quarter so far.
The other, the 24-yard touchdown pass from Sebastian Williams to
Jonte Quick. And that's where we're at now here, 43-0
in the third quarter. Belinda will kick off for Bishop McDevitt.
Going left to right from the visitor side press box

(01:35:42):
here at Landis Field. Two men back deep for the Panthers.
And Linda, this one will come down at about the
15-yard line, fielded and brought back up to the 20-yard
line or so, just shy of the 20-yard line. That
was number 16, Boyd, on the kick return there for

(01:36:03):
the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (01:36:04):
Elijah Sherman, as we saw, he's always one of the
first guys down there in kick coverage, and he makes
the stop there.

Speaker 7 (01:36:13):
You know, very, very good coverage by the Suicide Squad.
You know, they do that high, sort of a short.

Speaker 6 (01:36:19):
Pooch kick to the 15, and what's the return? Out
to the 20.

Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
That's it.

Speaker 7 (01:36:23):
Yeah, I think most coaches will take that. The coverage
got down there in a hurry.

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
So it's 43-0, Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
Number 57, Hubert Hall in there at defensive tackle now.
Layden Black in there on defense at linebacker.

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
Quinteraf out here at corner, as we mentioned in that
last series.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
Yeah, DeVar Chance has not returned.

Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
Two wideouts on the near side. Here's Chase's pass, and
this one is deflected and incomplete over there on the
far side.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
Number six, Austin Mack. Nice break there to break that
pass up.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Minute 20 left to play in the third quarter as
the clock continues to run here. Bishop McDevitt up 43-0.
Crusaders well on their way to their second victory of
the season. They will go to 2-0 when the clock
runs out here tonight. And Central Dolphin East on its
way to its second loss of the year. Panthers have

(01:37:28):
two wideouts on the near side and two on the far.
Bassett goes in motion. And Chase will hand this one
off to the near side. And the Crusaders get in there.
Trying to get a number on that one, Rob.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
Elijah Sherman.

Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
Man, did he get in there.

Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
Flying from way across the field.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
That was an impressive tackle right there.

Speaker 6 (01:37:53):
Very much so. Art, if you remember, we talked about
it last week.

Speaker 7 (01:37:58):
We were constantly calling his name on the defensive side
of the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
22 seconds left to play in the third quarter. It's
third down and 10 for C.D.

Speaker 12 (01:38:11):
East.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
As they're now driving towards the Union, or the Colonial
Park end of the field here, you could say. Atlantis,
two wideouts to the near side, one to the far,
and Chase fumbles it, picks it back up, runs up
the middle to the 22, and that's all he will get.
Looks like Leighton Black was in there for McDevitt on

(01:38:33):
the hit, and that will end the third quarter. It's
all Bishop McDevitt here tonight at Landisfield. They lead CD
East 43-0. We'll switch ends of the field, have one
more quarter of play for you. You're listening to Bishop
McDevitt Football here on Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio. No

The 2022 and 2024 state champs play right here on
Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
Hi, welcome back to Landis Field here. It's time for
the fourth quarter. Art Selby, Marty Bowman, Rob Pugliese, and
Eli Fessler back in the studios. Bishop McDevitt up 43
to nothing. The Panthers are going to have to punt
towards the Union deposit end of the field. Balls back
at their 22-yard line. They start the clock. McDevitt gets

(01:40:30):
in there and gets some pressure on that punt. They
do get it off. Goes down the field. Takes a
good roll for Bishop McDevitt. CD East will down that
at the 42-yard line. Trying to get a number who
was in there and almost blocked that thing.

Speaker 6 (01:40:47):
We've been talking about Elijah Sherman here tonight.

Speaker 8 (01:40:49):
And Rob, over the last 10 years or.

Speaker 7 (01:40:52):
So, The free safety and strong safety positions here at McDevitt,
those two positions have really just shined for McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (01:41:06):
Very key important positions on that defense.

Speaker 7 (01:41:08):
I know you've got some names there that will juggle
on the top of your head.

Speaker 3 (01:41:13):
Well, start off with one of the guys we mentioned
at halftime, Nevin Hopkins, who's now at Cal PA. You know,
everybody thinks of that tandem of Nevin Hopkins and Chase Regan.
You will not find a better safety combination. in high
school football anywhere than what those two were together. Freshman
Colton Milchin, a quarterback here.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
He's got two wide outs to the near side, one
to the far, immediately a penalty flag.

Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
And, of course, more recently, Tyler Reinhart. Now, Monmouth, heck
of a free safety, you know, five interceptions last year.
I believe he had ten in his career. He was
pretty big-time safety. Keelan Smith did a real nice job
at safety the last couple years. So you're right, Marty.

(01:41:58):
They've had some good ones.

Speaker 7 (01:42:01):
And speaking of the secondary defense and everything, congrats to
Nate Monroe.

Speaker 3 (01:42:07):
Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:42:07):
Last Friday, his first victory as a coach at Northern Lebanon.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Colton Mitchell in there, quarterback. He will hand this one
off up the middle. And not much there for Bishop McDevitt.
I think that was number 34, Brody Hayde. on the
run there for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (01:42:29):
And I think anybody, Rob, you know, that's been around
this McDevitt program, when you talk about class guys, Nate
Monroe comes.

Speaker 8 (01:42:37):
Right up to the top.

Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
Absolutely. I mean, he's everybody's, one of everybody's favorites, I
should say.

Speaker 2 (01:42:46):
Second and 17 for Bishop McDevitt. Frankie Brescia out on
the far side is a wide out there for Bishop McDevitt.
And Milch is able to come down with that snap,
which was a little high in the air there. He
gives it to Brody Haight again for a very short gain.
Lamell on the tackle for the Panthers. So gain of

(01:43:11):
two for McDevitt, and they have a third down and 15.
So we tick down to about nine minutes left in
the game. McDevitt leading 43-0, guys. Freshman Xavier Powell's there.

Speaker 3 (01:43:26):
At receiver. Number 22, Javen Coggins, also in there at receiver.

Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Melcher waits the snap. And McDevitt will run the ball
to the near side of the field this time. A
hard hit in there. This time is, again, number 34,
Brody Haid with the run. Gets a couple, and McDevitt
will have a fourth down and about 12, it looks like. And, um,

(01:43:57):
Does appear McDevitt will punt as Jontae Quick is on
to the field here. Eight and a half minutes left
to play. One man back deep.

Speaker 3 (01:44:04):
Of course, Marty, if you want to go back a
little bit further, 2019 season, Ben Marsico, one of the
better safeties the Crusaders have had.

Speaker 2 (01:44:20):
Amir Lamel back deep at his 10-yard line for the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
Of course, all the Marsicos played safety. Connor And Alex,
both on staff now.

Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
Jontae Quick rolls to the right a little bit and
punts this one down the field. And it's a very
effective punt. He's out of bounds. Looks like they'll mark
it around the 12. Nice job there by Jontae. 7.53
left to play. And this one, and McDevitt leads 43-0

(01:44:50):
as the Panthers will take over. Going left to right
from the visitor's side here at Landis Field. Definitely a warm, muggy,
humid night here at Landisfield here. Early season high school
football here.

Speaker 3 (01:45:12):
Some new linebackers in the game. Number 30, senior Stavion Holmberg.
Freshman number 33, Jude Jamin in there. Junior number 31,
Henry Santos also in there at linebacker.

Speaker 2 (01:45:31):
Here come the Panthers. The new quarterback in there for
the Panthers and McDevitt gets in there and knocks him
back at the two yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:45:46):
Just another bad snap. That's three snaps that have cost
them over 30 yards.

Speaker 2 (01:45:55):
That's Dominic Payne who's a freshman for the Panthers. at quarterback.
They lose nine on that one.

Speaker 7 (01:46:06):
As I observed, it was very close to being the
second safety of an evening.

Speaker 6 (01:46:10):
You do not see that very often.

Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
Heen is going to keep it himself. And if he
got out, he didn't get out by much.

Speaker 8 (01:46:21):
And he was stopped there.

Speaker 3 (01:46:24):
By number 80 freshman Anthony Petro. Number 19 Zaire Howard
Shank was also in there.

Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
That makes it third and 19 for the Panthers. 43-0
under six minutes left to play inside its own one
yard line. And the Panthers will run this one straight
up the middle and there it is. Another safety for
Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:46:57):
That is going to be a safety.

Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
So that will make it 45-0, Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 7 (01:47:06):
You can kind of sense that those young guys wanted
to not let them get away without getting.

Speaker 6 (01:47:10):
That two points in there.

Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
So, Rob, the question for you is when was the
last time Bishop McDevitt had two safeties in one game?

Speaker 3 (01:47:17):
That one I don't think I'm going to be able
to come up with. That's a tough one.

Speaker 7 (01:47:24):
If you would come up with that, you're out of
here because you need to be on TV.

Speaker 6 (01:47:28):
Tomorrow and next Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:47:32):
Another safety, guys, and I think it was Anthony Petro,
the freshman.

Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
So that makes it 45. He's in McDevitt with 5.49
left to play in this one. And we'll get the
free kick coming up here from the Panthers. 45, Zip, Bishop, McDevitt,

(01:48:03):
549 left to play. And the Crusaders will send number 21,
Xavier Powell, back deep. And Caden, let's see, it's number 26,
I think, Kirkland.

Speaker 3 (01:48:21):
Colin Kirkland, yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:48:23):
Number 19 is back there.

Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
Another one of the freshmen, very talented freshmen.

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
Howard Shank back there for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (01:48:33):
Jarius Walton, number 32, is on there.

Speaker 8 (01:48:35):
Jimenez.

Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
Jimenez.

Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
Jarius Walton, son of former great... Crusader tailback Johnny Walton
in the 1990s. Part of that 95 state title team
and 96 district title team.

Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Jimenez with the kick. This will be caught at the
31-yard line. Return for Bishop McDevitt. Up the field they go.
And all the way down to the 33-yard line. That
was number 21. That was Xavier Powell for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
I mentioned him earlier. Very high on that freshman Xavier Powell.

Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
Yeah, you can see he's got some game right there.
Impressive return. Got some momentum and he rolled down the
field there. Thought for a second he might take it
to the house. But they bring him down at the 34.
5.06 left to play and the clock ticks with McDevitt
up here 45 to nothing. See if the Crusaders can

(01:49:36):
hit the magic number of 50 here tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
Speaking of Crusader legacies, Xavier LaManna, number 70, a freshman
in the O-line. His dad, Justin LaManna, played in the 90s,
a big-time defensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
CD East will take a timeout here. Might as well
get one as well here in the fourth quarter. McDevitt
up 45-0. Let's take a break. You're listening to Bishop
McDevitt Football here on Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio. Bishop

Speaker 1 (01:50:44):
The boys of fall play right here on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here. Bishop McDevitt
up 45-0 over CeeDee East. 4.45 left to play. Quarterback
for McDevitt is Colton Milch. One back in the backfield,
two wideouts to the far side. Going in motion is Haid.

(01:51:09):
Crusaders will run this one up the middle. That's number 33, Jamin.
And Jamin Powers inside the 25, down to the 23.
A nice run there. Gain of 11 should be a
first down for McDevitt.

Speaker 6 (01:51:22):
Very nice run.

Speaker 8 (01:51:22):
I'm assuming his first carry.

Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
What's our theme of the night? Another freshman. Jude Jamin
had a pick six, guys, in the scrimmage against downtown
Central Catholic when the twos were in there. The McDevitt
team against the Central Catholic second team. He had a
pick six. So Jude Jamin.
First varsity carry picking up 10.

Speaker 2 (01:51:45):
Milch in there, quarterback. He's got a back on each
side of him. Two wide outs to the far side,
one to the near. Four minutes left to play. And
the Crusaders will run this one up the middle again.
That's number 33, Jamin. Another nice run for Jamin. Gets
about four, it looks like, down to the 18-yard line.

(01:52:10):
Clock down to 3.40 left in this one. Crusaders huddling
up here. Jude Jamin will check out for Bishop McDevitt.
Xavier Powell in there for the Crusaders as a wide
out over in the far side. Again, two backs in

(01:52:31):
the backfield back there with freshman Colton Milch. Waiting a snap.
And Crusaders will run this one up the middle for
a short gain.

Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
It's a senior, Stavion Holmberg, a senior linebacker, getting a carry,
a tailback, his first ever career carry.

Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Clock under three minutes left. They'll say no gain on
that one. It'll be third down and six for Bishop McDevitt.
Crusaders in no hurry here.

Speaker 3 (01:53:13):
Number 88, freshman receiver Kahari Sanders in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
Crusaders break huddle here on third and six. Two and
a half minutes left to play. Two wideouts to the
far side. One to the near. Milch looks over to
the sideline now. And the penalty flags come flying in
for a delay game against Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 8 (01:53:37):
Delay game against the offense.

Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
So that'll cost them five yards here. Comes back to
the 24. And it'll be third and 11 for Bishop McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:53:52):
Guys, I think I always say this, but McDevitt has
the longest mercy rule games ever. I mean, it doesn't
even seem like the game moves any quicker at all tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
How's that feel to it as we're down to about
two minutes left? Crusaders with two wideouts, one to the far.
Military waits to snap. And he will hand this one
off to number 34. Takes it up the middle, Brody
Haidt again. And Haidt gets down to about the 17-yard line.
Gain of about 7 for Bishop McDevitt. So fourth down

(01:54:31):
and about 5 for the Crusaders. Minute and a half
left to play in this one. Debbitt with some late
substitutions here. Play clock at 14. One wide out again

(01:54:52):
to each side of the field. And actually two in
the far side as Powell lines up out there. Play
clock's at three. Crusaders snap it. Hand this one off
to the outside. And CD East does a nice job
of stringing it out. That was Kirkland, I think, on
the run, but there is a flag down at the
15-yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:55:11):
It was Colin Kirkland.

Speaker 2 (01:55:14):
Clock shows a minute left exactly.

Speaker 8 (01:55:16):
Flag on the play.

Speaker 5 (01:55:17):
Let's see if that's... On sportsmanlike conduct against the Panthers.

Speaker 8 (01:55:25):
After the play.

Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
So a minute left exactly in this one. McDevitt up 45, nothing.
So yeah, it's a post-possession foul, so CD East will
take over here. So McDevitt will not get that 50 tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:55:54):
My prediction did not come to fruition. I thought for
sure they'd get 50.

Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
Yeah, I was thinking 52. We were on our way,
but it It's come up a little bit short here.
So a minute left. They will come out and spot
this thing at the 8-yard line. Panthers offense out there.

(01:56:23):
Two more plays, maybe one, and this will be over.
And the Panthers will run this one to the opposite
side and Bishop McDevitt all over that as they shut
it down immediately. I think LaManna was in there on
the tackle from McDevitt.

Speaker 3 (01:56:42):
You were spot on there, Art. Xavier LaManna, freshman.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
30 seconds left, second and 12 for the Panthers. Play
clock's at 21, so they'll run one more play here.
Two wideouts to each side of the field. And they
wait to snap. They're going to throw one to the outside.

(01:57:09):
And this one will be incomplete as the clock continues
to run. And that should do it. Called for a
second there, Rob. We still had a shot to get
our 50 with a big six, but not to be.
As that will end this game. Bishop McDevitt in the
win column tonight. 45-0 over C.D. East. The Crusaders go

(01:57:29):
to 2-0. CD East falls to 0-2, and Bishop McDevitt
will take on State College next Friday night at Rockport
10-0 Stadium, who will also be 2-0 on the season.
Let's take a break. We'll have tonight's postgame show for

Speaker 2 (02:00:30):
All right, welcome back to Landis Field here where Bishop
McDevitt has defeated CD East tonight, 45-0. Give you a
quick scoring recap here for you. A 33-yard touchdown pass
from Sebastian Williams way back in the first quarter. 7.52
left to play, put McDevitt up 7-zip. They get a
turnover and then a 10-yard screen pass from Sebastian to
Xavier McFarland. Made it 14-0 Bishop McDevitt. They get the

(02:00:54):
safety on Jaden Chase in the end zone. Spells and
Milch ultimately with the tackle there to make it 16-zip.
And then you add the Zayden Smith 60-yard touchdown reception
from Sebastian. It was 23-zip McDevitt after one. Harold Holton Jr.,
a 43-yard touchdown reception from Sebastian Williams. Made it 30-0
at the half. Then in the third quarter, 847 left

(02:01:16):
to play. A 24-yard touchdown pass from Sebastian Williams to
Jonte Quick. Made it 36-0 McDevitt. Then we had a
42-yard run by Xavier McFarland. A real impressive run with
225 left to play in the third. It was 43s
at McDevitt. Crusaders with two more points on a safety.
And the tackle, we'll think Anthony Petro had the tackle

(02:01:37):
for the safety. And we'll give it to him for now.
And McDevitt was up 45-zip. That's how the final score ended.
We'll take a break. We'll be back with tonight's player
of the game. That's next. You're listening to Bishop McDevitt

Marty if you want to go ahead with our player
of the game tonight.

Speaker 7 (02:03:50):
I think it's three yeses as they do in one
of those shows. Yeah, Sebastian Williams, five touchdown passes again.
Had one pick, and that was because his arm got hit.
Was under a lot of pressure, especially in that first half.

Speaker 6 (02:04:07):
And so did a good job with it.

Speaker 7 (02:04:09):
And just, yeah, kind of unanimous here from the three
of us that Sebastian Williams, definitely the player of the game.

Speaker 3 (02:04:17):
9 for 13, 204 yards. Spread the ball around to
six different receivers again.

Speaker 2 (02:04:22):
Second straight week with five touchdown passes for Sebastian. And
Xavier McFarlane played a really good game for McDevitt as well.
Really impressive touchdown run of 42 yards there in the
third quarter to really put it out of hand at
that point. All right, we'll take one more break. You're

This is Bishop McDevitt Football 2026 on Fox Sports 1460.

Speaker 2 (02:06:28):
Hi, welcome back to Landis Field here for the final
time here tonight where Bishop McDevitt has defeated Central Dolphin
East 45-0. Bishop McDevitt took care of business. Sebastian Williams,
our player of the game tonight. Guys, any final thoughts
on this one tonight here?

Speaker 3 (02:06:45):
I mean, the defense really came to play as much
as we were talking about things not being sharp offensively
with the line and some mistakes some penalties but you
know you can only play who's in front of you
and i know cd east even if they would have
had their normal quarterback was not really going to be
a good matchup but that being said the defense did

(02:07:06):
what they were supposed to do they gave up a
grand total of four total yards for the entire football
game now granted East lost 34 yards on those three
bad snaps, but even if you take that away, you'd
be looking at 38 total yards for a whole football game.

Speaker 7 (02:07:23):
And I think one of the things, Art, that's really
just going to continue to stand out more each and
every week is listening to Rob Bugli saying, freshman, freshman, freshman, freshman.
I mean, there are so many freshmen on the squad
that are very, very active.

Speaker 6 (02:07:41):
I think there's 20 on the There's a lot.

Speaker 3 (02:07:43):
Well, yeah, I think some of those guys.

Speaker 6 (02:07:50):
So many freshmen that are.

Speaker 7 (02:07:51):
Involved and are going to be, as the year goes on,
really probably making some meaningful contributions.

Speaker 3 (02:07:58):
Well, yeah, I think some of those guys on the
line of scrimmage, we talked a lot about Ja'Cory Spells tonight,
and he really played the majority of the game. But
some of these other kids are going to come on
and get better as the year goes on. And, you know,
we'll see them on the field more and more.

Speaker 2 (02:08:12):
All right, guys, so McDevitt wins tonight, 45-0 here against
CD East. They go to 2-0. They'll take on State
College next Friday night at Rockford Tenzio Stadium, 6.30 airtime
on Fox Sports 1460, 7 o'clock kickoff. Should be a
dandy next week, guys.

Speaker 3 (02:08:28):
Yeah, I mean, the Devots are going to have to
bring their A game.

Speaker 11 (02:08:30):
One of those ones to look forward to, for sure, Rob.

Speaker 3 (02:08:32):
Big time.

Speaker 2 (02:08:33):
All right, we'll have that for you next Friday night,
6.30 right here, Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio. From Marty Bowman,
Rob Pugliese, Eli Fessler, back in the Fox Sports 1460 studios.
I want to thank Coach Wechter, as always, for his
pregame show interview. And I want to thank everyone for
listening to the broadcast here tonight. Crusaders in the win column.
They go to 2-0 on the young season. And you

(02:08:54):
heard it all right here on Fox Sports 1460 and iHeartRadio.
Good night, everyone.
