Speaker 1 (00:00):
Stay tuned as top of the bottom of the hour
news updates and KWE is continuing coverage of the airline
fire out there in the d I A Tony Matiss said,
hold the latest updates and you can stay tuned here
to KA Colorado.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
If anything else any other news.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Is breaking five six six nine zeros A text line.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
We're talking a little bit about that Michael Parsons.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Tweet dust up, which, by the ways, now just take
it off on the Twitter there.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
And how uh.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
That's just interesting to me because you know, Lawrence obviously
has gone on to Seattle now and him just just
saying the quiet part out loud on camera, Hey, I
wasn't gonna win a championship down there in Dallas, And
then you know, Parsons comes out as defend the brand
and he's like, I'm not lying, you know which I mean.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Marsons doesn't technically dispute that.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Are there places where you just can't win?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Is Dallas, Cleveland or there?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Are there? Is it?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Is it an ownership thing that is an impediment to
winning in places like that?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yes, it is because it goes back to a culture.
What's the culture that's been established and you get some
guys who come from collegiate programs where and even high
school where all they did was win, and then all
of a sudden they get to the pros and now
it's nothing but losing, losing, losing. Just think about it.
If you played in the SEC and you went to
(01:21):
Alabama and you were so used to winning, and then
you go to Cleveland, You're like, Uh, what is this?
I don't even recognize this. So that's kind of the situation.
And when you think about the whole Cowboys' issue, Like
I give Jerry credit for helping move the league alaw
as far as television deals and a branding.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
And all that, the entertainment component of a Jerry Jones
is the master of the entertainment.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Okay, So that is the operative word, right, And I
think we need to break it down like he is
right up there with entertainment except for when it comes
to his own team. Right, It's like entertainment for the
league overall, but not a team, because there's such a
thing as being having too much interference, right when you
(02:04):
can't allow your coaches to coach, or you can't allow
the people you hired as far as the scouts to
do their job because Jerry is the facto GM. What
other owner that you that you know over the past
fifteen years other than Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones that
had pre and postgame shows?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Ooh, I can't think of one.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
I mean ers did some shows for a while, but
that wasn't it wasn't on that scale.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
And I'm just running around in my head right now.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Not really, I don't think there is any right because
those two guys had weekly shows and they were in Dallas,
because I think the whole idea of everything is bigger
in Dallas, That's right. Got it got to that. So
that is one of the problems. And as long as
Jerry is unwilling to relinquish the rains to someone else,
they're gonna still be in this hamster will And all
(02:56):
you have is two guys who were former teammates. Maybe
they had some beef, you know at the time his teammates.
Now Lawrence is on another team. You get a chance
to expand upon your you know, the fact of not
agreeing with everything that was going on.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
There's also I mean, there is also a tendency for
guys going to a new team to kind of take
a shot at the old team sometimes when we saw it.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
We saw it here when remember when Shellby got traded
and you know, and it was.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Doing the less ride stuff with when Russ and in
that game, that kind of stuff, Like there's a tendency
for that kind of stuff. I'm not I get it.
I mean, you know, I don't. I don't think there's
anything wrong with it. I don't think there's anything wrong
with Lawrence saying, you know, saying that. I don't think
there's anything wrong with Parsons having his opinion, even if
I disagree with it. I don't think there's anything wrong
with Parsons doing his rebuttal thing there. But Lawrence kind
(03:40):
of kind of really set the quiet part out loud
twice when he said that Dallas was was you know,
implied that Dallas was the place you couldn't win in
the implication of toxic culture. And then he turns around
and calls Parsons out directly and says, quick tweeting and
have a championship mentality.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I don't think the fact that Parson's doesn't have a
championship mentality. You can tell when that dude is out
there every single play when the ball is snapped how
they move him around. He has a championship mentality. The
only thing is that not everyone on his team has
the same type of attitude. Because Lawrence only had, if
I'm not mistaken, maybe three sacks on the season, while
(04:18):
Parson had twelve. I mean, Parson has the ability to
kind of go in that direction and I'm sure things
would escalate to that point where stats are tossed out.
But it takes a team to win a championship. But
I believe every time watching Michael Parson, he is trying
to win a championship. I can't say the same for
everyone on the team, and I definitely can't say the
(04:39):
same for management.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, I mean, and that's the thing, but I mean
Lawrence talking to him about that tweet, because that's sort
of the thing. Don't you think that the right general
manager and the right owner will be like, hey, look, Michael,
we respect the brand and what you're doing, love your
hustle on the field, but there's room for improvement and
that room for proofs. All this time you're spending out
here tweeting and working on the brand, you could be
working on the products on the field.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well, for me, Parsons is always working Yeah, he is
definitely one of those guys, because once again, you can
see it in his work ethic. You can see it
when he gets angry. You can see it when somehow
he gets dinged up and he can't go back all
out there on the field. That becomes somewhat of a
problem and the issue for him. But each one of
(05:21):
these guys has a point. Laws is with a new team,
and obviously, like you said, when you go to a
new team, you take potsasts of Joe.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Team take seat stields him.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, that's I think that that's yeah, and I think
that's a fairly common occurrence. You're gonna listen to Brooks
Country Night here on KOA again if you're tuning in
for anymore on the airplane fire out there at the
IA Marketing Airlines airline fire. We'll have an update with
Tony manis here at the bottom of the hour. Well
talked a little bit about see you. You know, we
(05:50):
love all this the cultural stuff that the coach Prime's
down out there keeps putting see you on the map.
They keep getting great guests to come out there and
talk to the team.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
And who better than Dazazel Washington.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Then go ahead and talk to the sea busts.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
When you pray for rain.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
You gotta deal with the mud too, But eventually good
things grow out of that mud.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
All fame ain't all that's made up to be power
and privilege and fame and well, hopefully you'll see but
it's not off.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
It's all made up to be.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
So yeah, you can pray that it rains on you,
but you gotta deal with the mud.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
You be looking up and.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Look down and realize you're seven feet deep in mud.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
It's thick.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
People don't like it, people don't like to see, and
you do well. We are in the world, but don't
be of it.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Don't rely on.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
It for your happiness. Rely on the almighty.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Do not rely on this world for.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Your happiness, because it'll tell you Tuesday that they loved
it and Wednesday that.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
They ate you.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
They probably said that about you know, it's not consistent.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Hey, remember this fellas.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Today is an opportunity to be the best you that
you can be. Whatever comes your way, whatever obstacles come
your way, What an opportunity to overcome them and do better?
C student, What an opportunity you have to be a
B student?
Speaker 6 (07:28):
A student?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
What an opportunity. You have to help that c student,
help each other, protect each other.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
That's why they call it a team. You're a unit.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Now, I'm not a prophet, but I'm gonna say this now.
If y'all don't send me a ticket to the National
Championship when you get there, then don't ever act like
you don't ever go to none of my movies ever.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
I don't knowne to know you because I know you
an idea.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
And now you remember that David Dallas oppun said you
are going into the national championship. Now some of you
may not go with this team, but you're going to
the national championship in life anyway. God bless you, I
love you, Good luck to you.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
We will not go quietly into the night, no Independence
Day with remember yeah I love it. Yeah, we'll get
you got hyped up like Denzel Washington though, And that's
pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
That would have been crazy if because someone in the
room pity or something like that. I was doing the
speech from Glory. But you know what, that's that's dope.
And that's another thing that I call the coach prime effect,
having someone just walk walking into the room. Because remember,
there's no Travis there's no Shador, So you got a
(08:46):
lot of young players who stepping into the world or
to see you Buff Boulder kind of mixed for the
first time. And then you walk in the room and
then all of a sudden, it's Denzel Washington there on
a zoom call. It's just like, are you not blown
out of your mind? There was a part I cut
out of that audio and.
Speaker 7 (09:02):
It was very low, but it was Deon Sanders kind
of being starstruck and that he had Denzel Washington speaking
to his team.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yes, that's that's pretty cool. I mean, what are the
what is the expectation for this team? Now? You don't
have Travis and Chador there anymore.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
They're going to be selected in the NFL Draft coming
up here next month. This is a team that probably
underachieved its first season bringing even if it was even
if you are bringing a dead program back, it's still
probably considered underachievement at the four wins or whatever everybody thought.
You get to year two, you start to have some
more success, you get over the five hundred mark, but
(09:37):
you know, you lose your Heisman player, you lose your
starting quarterback. And now we're at the point where this
is not I'm Deon Sanders and I'm coaching my son
at the quarterback position. This is now Colorado Buff's football.
You know, this isn't Travis Hunter two way player Heisman campaign.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
This is c U Buff's football.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Is what is the expectation for this team this year?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
The expectation is, hey man, we got to go to
a bowl game. And it's not just go to a
bowl game. We now have to win because just think
about it, the progress that has taken place since the
first year the Buffs came out, they got four wins,
and then the second year it's like, well, you know what,
(10:18):
people were devaluing the teams didn't think they were going
to win over five games and let long get to
a bowl game. But they were able to do that.
So now the next step, the next evolution and bus
football on the coach prime is get to a bowl
game and win the bowl game. So looking at the
guys that they have, they have about seventeen twenty two transfers.
(10:39):
They still got some freshman guys where the biggest question comes, well,
what's gonna happen at the quarterback position. You got Cadence
Salter who transfers in from liberty. You got to juju
come in as a freshman. I love that battle and
it's going to sharpen every single player and it's going
to make the team better. But the expectations, you know,
how this work's been. It's the same philosophy as I
(11:00):
was when I played for the Denver Broncos. You don't
lower the bar? What what? What you know those high jumpers,
that's why lower there, not lowering the standard. And that's
what I see for the bus to season.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Denzel Washington not the only guy passing out advice these days,
Josh Allen the m v P.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
When you start getting these fairly big numbers throughout the
entire league, you know, it's weird to say this, but
what's what's five we're going to do for my life
that I can't already do right now?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Right?
Speaker 8 (11:29):
So, like it's not that crazy to me, right, Like,
I live a pretty good life, got a house, got
a car, We're good. But I wasn't looking to absolutely
kill them in every every chance that I could. And
I told my agent that I was like, hey, this
this has.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Any impact on the pack.
Speaker 8 (11:51):
Or impact on the cap, I should say let's figure
out a way to not do that. So again, we're
both sides were willing to move, move and change different things,
and it was a pretty pretty calm mannered and negotiation
is what I can what I can say, at least
what I can hear on both sides.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
So Josh, I mean, we knew that the extension was
going to land a couple hours out, and it was
one of those things where they they're for the team's sake,
they're they're playing with the numbers a little bit in
an effort to make it more Manue.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
We see a lot of that these days.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
But you know, he's kind of saying something that I
think is big and talking about you know what what
matters in this situation? Does it matter to get that
extra five mil? What is that five meal costing you?
You know you're not just getting five million dollars that
costs you some What is that extra five mili on
a deal?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
What does that cost you?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Does that cost you the ability to get other player
to complete a team, to make a road at the
Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Like what what does that? What does that do?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
And what sacrifices are you willing to make to be
able to h to make sure that everybody gets there's
they're piece of the pie, but you're still able to
feel the team that's ready to go win a super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
See that tells me that Josh Allen gets it. He
understands it. And you can say, well, maybe the pressure
of playing in Buffalo playing I guess in the shadow
of Jim Kelly known as though Kelly took that Buffalo
team that organization to for super Bowls regardless of the
fact that they didn't win. That's a lot of pressure
that Josh is living with. But he understands that he
(13:16):
can lick frog everything that Jim Kelly did by doing
one thing, getting the Buffalo Bills to a Super Bowl
and winning their entire thing. So you can't do that
by your own individual standards. And he understands that as
great as he is athletically, he can't get them across
the finish line by himself. So look, he could have
(13:36):
asked the Buffalo Bills. He could have demanded it, I
am the m v P, give me more money, but
he said, no, team is still more important. But let's
kind of keep it real. He still got paid.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
That's what I was just gonna say. He said, he.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Still get paid, and it's as a part of But
you know, even Superman's got a Justice League, you know,
he can't handle everything saying.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Very true, and that's why the Justice League table, it's round.
Were equals here, we're all equal positioning. It's all for
this seat over here.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
That's a little bit more equals than the other side.
It's a little bit higher up.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
You know what, Ben, Really quickly, here's what Grant and
I realized when you went to you and Ryan went
to the to the combine and Grant was hosting with me.
What we noticed was that the chair that you are
currently sitting in now, somehow when I look around in
the room, it is elevated a little higher. Yes than
everyone else. Absolutely, I make no secret of that. Absolutely
(14:36):
look down. Oh yeah, I was doublished. I think you
were off that. But Steve was in here one night.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
We're talking about that because Steve likes the low rider chairs. Yes,
that dude. I'm like, bro, your chin is on the
on the counter here. Yeah, I've always done that. I
always done that, the Hower dynamic chair.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
At first, I thought, and I know Dave sits in
that chair right before, but I'm like, I don't I
don't think. I don't think that's days. He's already tall.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yes, right now, I'm you know, I'm five ten, I'm
the average height. But no, I absolutely do the jacked
up seat looking down on people in the power dynamic thing.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
It was funny about that. One time when I decided
to go back to college, I had to go back
to Mike Shanahan and ask him, well, better yet I
told him what I was going to do. I didn't
even give me a chance to talk. Yeah, I just
kind of laid out the plan to him. But I
didn't notice when I when I sat down in the
seat that the chair looked like he was level, right,
it looked like it was level. But when I sat down,
(15:28):
I just noticed that I just kept sinking, and I
was like, why is this desk so high above my face?
My eyeline just kind of like like like more yeah,
and I found myself kind of looking at I was like,
wait a minute, it's not supposed to be this way.
He's got an elevated desk. Chap, he's got a trick chat.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Absolutely always be in the position of.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Power now, yeah, so it's poweredise some power dynamics.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Speaking of power dynamics, grant, you're gonna Cook be able
to stick pack.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
We come back Rocks Country tonight. You can't wait.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Newsroom has been following obviously the American Airlines and Demver
inter national airplane fire out there. Tony name has spent
updating top and bottom of the hour, So stay tuned
for that. If we have any breaking news on that,
we will continue to bring that to you right here
on Kowa it is. We're going to get back to
Broncos Country tonight here with the NFL six.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
It's time for the NFL six pad.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
I'm gonna take a lot of beer guy insight and.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
Inside information you can't find anywhere else.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
No.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Six the top six NFL headline on this one made
me laugh.
Speaker 7 (16:33):
Earlier today, Bill Belichick asked North Carolina to copy his
girlfriend on emails.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (16:42):
Enter former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who took the job
at North Carolina in large part, we believe because no
one'm planning to pursue him for another NFL job and
is asking his girlfriend of twenty four years old to
be copied on his business emails at North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
What is going on with Bill Belichick? Well, thank you
know what's going on. He got twenty four year old girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Yeah, I did you know this, Bill Belichick even though
how to operate an email at this point?
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Oh, maybe she's just she's sifting through the stuff for him.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Yeah, he's using her as a filter.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Nick can probably attest to this.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Are there are players who had their wives sip through
the text and emails and acts as a screener for
some of their stuff?
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Is they get harangued and harassed? That'll be a no
capitol in capitol? Oh no, no, no, I know some
players that do that. Well, I know some players who don't,
players who definitely I know what you're talking about there too.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
But I'm saying, you know some players that do with
their wives with the side checks say, there's no, they're
not letting their girlfriends do that.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
The wives?
Speaker 7 (17:49):
Well, is it?
Speaker 2 (17:50):
I'm thinking? Because Bill Belichick is up there in years,
he's got a lot of responsibilities from a coaching standpoint,
does he really know how to operate? You know, email?
We've seen those videos preparent where kids are doing zoom
calls with their parents and one parent is blocking the
camera and he's like, no, no, hit this button, No honey,
(18:10):
what's going on? I can't hear him anymore? See that's
how he avoids it allows this twenty.
Speaker 7 (18:14):
Four your gofriend, Like when an NFL game is only
on an app like Peacock and you're trying to tell
your parents on the phone how to download the Peacock app.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
And it's exhausted where you just want to hang up.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Like, guys, it's not this hot.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Two.
Speaker 7 (18:31):
A little more serious story here for number two. Xavier
Worthy is considering his legal options against Tia Jones, chiefs receiver.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Xavier Worthy was arrested nearly.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
A week ago based on allegations of violence by his
former Beyonce Tia Jones. Worthy, through his lawyers, has proclaimed
his innocence and he has insisted that Jones is the wrongdoer.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Ben, you have any more info on this story?
Speaker 2 (18:57):
I mean, I'll put it this way.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
There's been some recantation and some things that were said
that said. Everybody says they're going to pursue their legal
options even if they're guilty. Justin Tucker said he was
going to pursue his legal options and that dude is
guiltier then I don't know what. So somebody can say,
anybody can say anything they want.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
It's free.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
When when he actually files something let me know on
that on that as far as that goes, I'm glad
that they are trying to resolve whatever it is and
get get a resolved to get to the bottom of it.
I'm glad that there's no more violence being perpetrated. But
at the end of the day, I mean there's some recantation,
but not all on what he did.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
And I would.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Suggest that you don't want to get out over your
skis trying to preserve your own image where you would
wind up messing yourself up after you've got you know,
I don't want to say gotten away with.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
It, but you you've put it behind you sort of.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
You don't want to get out over your skis reintroducing it. Well,
these situations are always tough because they're perceived by police
officers as domestic violence situations. And I can tell you
any i'm a cops called out, whether it is by
you or it's by a neighbor or innocent bystander, somebody's
going to jail, right, just make a difference what the
details are. Someone is going to jail. But I think
(20:10):
when you think about this story, there there's a tide
wind it that I think about. It's former fiance right
in a lot of these cases. And trust me, I've
seen him. I've been through a couple myself. I leave
it right there. But you want to make sure that
you are cleaning, you have the right people around you.
So there's more to this story than meets the eye.
(20:31):
But if I'm exiber was worthy parents, I'm going to
make sure that my son stays away from certain people.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
Well, the story I heard him, you can tell me
benef there's any truth to this is that he found
out that his former fiance was cheating on him and
asked her to leave the house, and then she would
not leave the house for up to two weeks, and
then things got physical, and that's when she ripped out
his dreads or whatever hairstyle he had, and then he
(20:59):
allegedly choked her.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
That is close to the version of events that I
am aware of. I would not I mean allegedly the
cheating thing that sort of came out after.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
But she was asked to leave and she did stay.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Another couple of weeks, although there was no official paperwork
file to remove her.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
And then she came at him.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
I don't know if she pulled out a dread, but
she did something she did pull on his hair and
then he had.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
His hand around her throat. Those are those are the
details that I'm aware of.
Speaker 6 (21:24):
Free Joey Flacco, the Fountain Flaco, Joey Buttaflacco visited with
the Giants on Thursday.
Speaker 7 (21:35):
The Giants are set to meet with Russell Wilson mister
Unlimited on Friday. But I think he is not the
only only quarterback Theredering considering for their twenty twenty five roster.
The Old Yates of ESPN reports that they had Joe
Flacco and for a visit today. Flaco spent last season
with the Colts, not nearly as magical as his twenty
twenty three season with the Browns. But is this just
(21:56):
a backup option for the Giants if they don't get
Rogers Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, I tested all the avenue was on that they're
waiting on the Aaron Rodgers things. It's them and the
Steelers waiting on Aaron Rodgers, and they're looking at all
background options, whether it's Joe Flacco or Russell Wilson. Is
gonna be visiting with him. Russell visiting with him last
time too, So I don't know what he did. He
had found like he had a ten minute stop in
Cleveland today. I already saw that he got there like
they got there that you know, eight or nine this morning.
He was out by like, you know, by noon, So
(22:21):
he was not there very long in Cleveland today.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
I don't know what that's about.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
But anyway, Russell's making the rounds as far as that
kind of stuff goes, while everybody's just waiting on Aaron Rodgerson.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Well Jay Z once said touchdown and take off the
same night as guests. Essentially what Russell Wilson.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
He got Cleveland and said, where in the hell am I?
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yes, exactly. But when you think about it, Russ was
in this situation a couple of years ago when he
was leaving Seattle and it was well with the Broncos.
Take Aaron Rodgers, and when that didn't work out, they
opted for Russell Wilson. So he's got to be saying
to himself, not this again, not this guy again. Ye
(23:00):
can I find a way to separate from him? But
for me, I think it's better if Russell ends up
with the Giants. That's great. Joey by the fly go
to vacuum up the skill set of both quarterbacks don't match.
For Brian Dave was in his offense.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
The real question is where does this put Drew Locke?
Where are we going to have Drew Simber?
Speaker 2 (23:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
He's a free agents so once all the dust sattles,
we'll see.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Maybe he winds up in Tennessee. Who knows.
Speaker 7 (23:23):
Four Speaking of quarterbacks, my one of my favorites because
of his facial hair gardner the mustache. Minshee moving on
to another team in the AFC West. According to multiple reports,
Minshew has agreed to a one year deal with the
Chiefs on Thursday. Minshee still on the right side of thirty.
Shout out to our partner in crime. Zach Seegers, twenty
(23:47):
eight years old, was officially released by the Raiders on
Wednesday at the start of the new league year. He
appeared in ten games with nine starts for Las Vegas
last season, of course, turned the Broncos season around with
that interception the pick six d yard to Pat Sarte
in the second He completed sixty six point three percent
of his passes for twenty thirteen yards with nine touchdowns
(24:08):
and ten interceptions.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Do you like this move?
Speaker 7 (24:10):
For the Kansas City Chiefs as a backup to Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Well, I mean Andy Reid has a way of recycling quarterbacks.
He's certainly when he was in Philly used tournam into
draft picks, remember like A. J.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Feeley and Kevin Calm and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Now I've been caled.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
I forgot about him.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Now with the compensitory formula, they keep doing it. Carson
Wentzell wind up signed somewhere and they'll end up getting
a compensatory pick for it.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
That's another way to keep your eye on with Tennessee
in New York. As for the rest.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
As for the rest, I mean, you know whatever, it's
a backup quarterback. If Pat it's just what the what's
the old quote from Bruce Arians about Peyton Manning. Peyton
Manning goes down, we're screwed, and then we don't practice
screwed except slightly less eloquently.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Well, i'll tell you what. This works out great for
a gardener mentioned because there have been several backup quarterbacks,
Blaine Gabard being one of those guys to win a
Super Bowl just pulling the clipboard and cheering on Patrick Mahomes,
So it kind of fits from in an athletic since
when you think about what Patrick Mahomes can do on
the ground, and Gardner mentioned how he just came into
(25:13):
folklore being able to move around in the pocket. But
he's gonna get coached up under Andy Reid and could
prove to be a better opportunity for him being in
that system, so he learns how to better play the
quarterback position.
Speaker 7 (25:25):
Five well, speaking of the Athletic, Diana Rossini of The
Athletic in New York Times on Wednesday said that the
Vikings decision makers, which we still don't really know who
those people are, are still evaluating options at quarterback, including
the possibility of signing Aaron Rodgers, even though he is
posting pictures of him on the beach and a large
(25:47):
blanket slash towel and maybe going on another silent retreat.
I heard yesterday Ryan Edwards told me that it may
take up to four weeks for Aaron Rodgers to make
his decision. Is there any truth that we could see
Aaron Rodgers continue the Brett far tour and end up
in Minnesota this.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Year, Brian Garrett Rodgers would like that.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Everything I've been told from the Minnesota side of the
House is that it is not even an option. I
understand people reporting stuff, but there's been a lot of
bad reports out there, including some that it came out today,
not just about Rodgers Cup, people staying the Broncos Broncos
aren't in on Cooper Cup like they're just not.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Diana Versini confirming that too. So as far as the.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Rest of it goes, I think Aaron Rodgers would love
to go to Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
It's the best option of the three, right, you know, the.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Division, it's a software NFC than AFC. You know, yeah,
I think you get a better offensive coordinator. With all
due respect, you have a better offensive coordinator with Kevin
O'Connell than you do with Brian Dable or Arthur Smith.
I think, you know, I think Aaron Rodgers plus a
better supporting cast.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Me. Look what they've got over there. Look at the
receivers they've got.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Already you know in Minnesota out there. Look the defense
that they've got. I think Aaron Rodgers would love to
do that.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
But I from what I understand from Minnesota side of
the House, that's not even a consideration.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
He gets New York and Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
And the reason that Aaron's drawing this out is hoping
Minnesota might change their mind.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
This was interesting about this the situation. Remember when the
Green Bay Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers and you had to
sit behind Brett Fahr, and Brett Fahr was just like,
it's not my job to coach him up and kind
of teach him the game. But it just seem as
though Aaron Rodgers is following the blueprint of one Brett Faughk.
You leave the Packers to go to the Jets, and
the possibility of going to the Minnesota Vikings. His part,
(27:21):
not their part. I just think that's very a very
interesting story. It just adds to I guess everything we've
come to know about one Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 7 (27:29):
Yeah, and speaking of what you mentioned earlier, Ben Diana
Rassini did also report that the team still interested in
Cooper Cup the Seahawks, Saints, Vikings, and Packers, not the Broncos.
So maybe we can squash that and keep Courtland Sutton.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Hopefully six.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Well, we talked about it earlier.
Speaker 7 (27:51):
DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parson's going at it on Twitter.
If you missed it earlier, here is what DeMarcus Lawrence
had to say about leaving Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
You know, Dallas is my home made my home there.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
You know, my family lives there.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
You know I'm ever going to be there, but you know,
I know for sure.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
I'm not gonna win a Super Bowl there.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
So yeah, here, and Michael Parsons responded, this is what
rejection and envy look like. Yeah, it seems like some
bad blood down there with former teammates. My question I'm
gonna pose to Nick first, did you have any bad
blood with any former teammates that ended up going public?
Speaker 2 (28:34):
No, because the idea is that if there was any beef,
it was handled in house, man to men, and it
was one of those things like manlaw, I mean, you
don't let anything get outside to the public, and if
you do, you have a problem internally with the group
within itself. But this whole thing is very comical. It's rich.
(28:54):
The only thing that could have been made better if
the league had both Seattle and Dallas playing in the
righting season.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Are they on each other schedule?
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Nope, they're blue, so no, they're not. Okay.
Speaker 7 (29:06):
There you go, and Nick, Ben, we know that you
have dealt with plenty of drama in your life.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I mean, honestly, the the you and I beef, I
think was probably we kept that in house, you.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Know, never made it past behind the scenes.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I maintained that you sucker pushed me, but it's it's
whatever you deserved it.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
I still think they did, you know, only on days
any And why can't.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
You guys reenact that we're.
Speaker 7 (29:28):
Good at anybody actually believing that were fighting.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
He's is probably a no. I mean.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Most of my stuff though, it is just an act
on Twitter, you know, I think it's I think it's
the funniest thing because like I was talking to somebody
and I can't remember what it was, and they were like, yeah,
I talked to somebody who worked with you, and they
were like, yeah, here's nothing like his Twitter.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
That was probably me because I was explaining to that
someone literally last weekend. You know, he's playing a character
to get your reaction.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Right, drama up to.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Don't went up to you know, cause we get that's
what you get paid.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
All the views.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
I said, Now, I get these people spamming the replies
and they oh I got the zinger in on all
Brady said, you know, they don't understand that and the
reality is is like when it comes to the show,
the show is a much closer version of me than
you know than than Twitter, Twitter's social weisth social media
stuff's all fake.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Anyway, you turn off social media and know those people exist.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
I still can't get on Twitter or x don't.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
It's horribly toxic, horribly toxic.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
But it was something like I went from I went
from taking that.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Stuff too seriously to just not even slightly.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Caring at all over the last few years. And that's
the thing about social media.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
You gotta it's it's it's not real life, Like think
about it like this, like here's somebody and I think
I told great, I've talked about this before. I was like,
if if if you put out a post and it
doesn't get a hundred likes, and then you're sitting there like, man,
what do I just underperform? But if you walk down
the street in any given day and get one hundred
people saying hi to you, I hope you have a
great day, you would be overwhelmed.
Speaker 7 (30:59):
I have to read myself of that whenever I do
anything with my podcast, the taking it for granted podcasts.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
If you want to take a lest his career for granted,
that's right.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
See I've got you saved, saving saying it a couple
of times.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Marketing, marketing, the work here, but that, But I mean,
that's the thing at the end of the day, man,
like the person that is me, that is the real man.
I'm sure I've never know one who has ever worked
with me, has ever complained about me in any way.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
You know.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
It's like, it's so funny.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
It's so funny the visceral reactions you get on social
media versus you know, the people who actually know and anyway.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
I mean, I've been around you at the stadiums do
the games, and fans would say, oh, man, you're not
you know what I thought you were?
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Rights every single time You're like, you are not what
I thought you were. And I'm like, ahead, I'm just
I'm just a regular guy trying to have and I
got a quirky sense of here where I'm trying to
have fun.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
So hopefully you guys are having fun too.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Rocos Country back of I've told I sound somewhere in
between the smoking ants from the Simpsons and and very White.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
What the fun is Benjamin Albright or Benjamin all Right,
