else to say about that. I heard radio app. There's
nothing else worth except Broncos Country Well.

Speaker 3 (00:17):

Granted podcast you can listen to with Nick Ferguson, Rick Lewis,

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Literally everyone from KAA Wow.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Massive, massive resume list of guests. Man, congrats, thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yes, it is a incredible roster that every k A
host was included.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
There didn't a single one, not one oh five, six,
six nine zero is the text line. Somebody asked if
you remember the Cindy Crawford Pepsi commercials from nineteen and one.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I remember those vaguely. Do you remember the License to Kill?

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Wait? Wait, what do you mean vaguely? I mean that
was a commercial.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I remember remember her, idiot, but I don't like remember
the lines in it or anything.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
I mean, you remember the lie the dialogue you missed
the whole point of the commercial. Bit is like, uh,
when is she going to speak? It's like, no, that
wasn't the design.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I'm here for her intellection.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Fergus, Well, that wasn't designed. Ben of the commercial. I
remember it was like a bred car going up to
the machine. She had some denim shorts, a white tank
top right and she pressed the button, got a pepsi
out of her.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Pi versions like you know. The the radio station of
the car was.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
He had his binoculars after the.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
There was a friend missing out of one of the
socks on the left side.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Oh my goodness, ridiculous. He Chargers added David and Joku today.
Now obviously they got right against the junior. They already
had a Charlie Kuhers blocking tight end. They were one
of the teams that went to twelve and thirteen personnel
the least last year with Greg Roman run of the show.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Now you got Mike McDaniel in.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
There, and you figure they're gonna rerun a twelve thirteen
personnel quite a bit. First of all, the the you
know what do we think of the David Joku's signing
to the Chargers, and then number two. Are the Chargers
the real existential threat for the Broncos in the AFC West.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
I'm going to say answer the last question first, Yes
they are. They've always been that of a threat to
the Denver Broncos. We don't even have to go into
Harborough's record against of Sean Payton. But just the addition
of David and Joku that changes things, you know, for them.

(02:42):
Like even last year when Trey Lance was their starting quarterback,
when they were trying to rest up. You know, the
game was a little tight there for a second, right,
and it was like, well, the game shouldn't be this
particular way. That tells you they have a decent roster.
And now they've added Mike McDaniels, who I've had the
pleasure of working with before and I know a little

(03:03):
how his brain works as he tries to come up
with creative plays to get guys in position. And oh,
by the way, if I'm not mistaken, and I know
him not, George Kittle was out there in San Francisco
when Mike mcdanie was there. So you have a guy
who can threaten outside the hashes and down the middle
of the field. Now you have two of those guys,

(03:25):
and you know Gaston. I mean, you raved about Gaston
last year. I raed I wanted the Broncos to take
him in that draft, right, So now you add another
guide to that mix. And I know, and I was
watching as some Broncos fans were kind of reacting to that, like,
oh no, it's not a big deal. I'm gonna tell
you what if you have two tight ends that can

(03:46):
stretch the feel. And we know David Nijok who likes
to futch his muscles, come out when the weather is
cold and show people, you know, what he's been working
on in an off season. To me, now you have
two athletic tight ends that can stretch the field and
could potentially, I say potentially create matchup threats for the
Broncos and every other offense that is out I mean

(04:08):
every other defense that's out there.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, and it's gonna be I mean, you've got obviously
we mentioned Mike McDaniel's gonna be in there now as well.
I mean, man, it's mc gaston had more receiving yards
in the Broncos Titan room combined last year.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
You know, it is rookie year.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
You know the Chargers last year that offensive line was
hot garbage because they they had so many injuries this year.
That offensive line looks just as good, if not. I
mean it's up there with the Broncos, maybe better. Well
Rayshaw's later Joe al to the tackles. They added Cole
Strange and Tyler Biadich at the center, right guard. They
drafted Jake Slaughter of the second round to be the
left guard.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
That that offensive line looks good.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Well, this is not charges radio but real recognized real
and if they like it, well, you said, what do
you want to grant? But I'm just calling what I see.
This is if every talented team within the division, those
injuries on the office of on derail them. And obviously
it's always the same talk, not just with the Charges,
but whatever team, if they stay halty what they can

(05:08):
actually present, So that that's gonna be very interesting to see.
And if you were if you if you had to
guess and say, well, looking at the AFC or even
around the league, which teams would you looking say well
they had the best tight end tandem? What do you
think right off the bet?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I think you're going with the Chargers, I mean Gaston
and Joku right, Nope, Well, you brought Bowers and whoever
the other Raiders guy is, or I'll.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Give you Okay, I'll give you a couple of teams
and some players' names and you tell me. All right,
let's play that game. So let's look at he's got
Njoku and the Ronde Gaston good to add them. Yes,
so you have the Colts that have the West, Yes,
a whole as a whole, right, Moley Cox and Tyler

(05:55):
Warm with the Colts.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
It's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Although boy Cox is Molly Cox is more of a
full h back, you know, but he's good. Take away
from it.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Listen, that counts when you're talking about blocking for and
opening holes for Jonathan Taylor. Right, that that's that's that's important.
Now let's go co commit, right, and that's a pretty
good tabdam Okay, Now I know that they're not in AFC,
but I'm just I'm looking Lee Wine, Lee Wine, this

(06:24):
is what I'm doing. Then what about Dawson.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Knock and Kin Well, if they ever stay healthy at
the same time.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
So right, so we were to look at the different Broncos.
Look at you got Ingram, you have Troutman, right, you
have Joeye, and you have Bentley right now, those two
younger players that I mentioned, they have the potential to
develop into something. But here's the other thing. When you're
looking at those teams with those tight ends that I name,

(06:55):
and it plays a role in how efficient your offense
can be, look at the running back because if the
running backs for those teams that I just named start
to get off, I mean with the Bears, you got
swift right and a nun guy and then you think
about James Cook and Tyy Johnson. So if you if
you can pick up on this theme and this is

(07:15):
what things can change for the Denver Broncos very rapidly.
Getting the run game on track helps that tight end group.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, you know, if they can get
the run game on track helps everybody out. If if
you look at the Denver Broncos, that's gonna give you
opportunity to buy you time to be able to get
those deep shots off to Jalen Wandler, Marvin Mims'll it'll
allow you time to to get things off over the
middle to these tight ends because they'll be sucked up.
You know, the linebacker will come forward in the run game,

(07:44):
so you can get just beyond that either run, get
going helps everybody.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
You know what, I don't know exactly what Davis web
scheme is gonna look like. No one really knows, right
Parker Gabe Will said, Well, we didn't know if it
was gonna be Davis Web running his scheme or Davis
We're running a version of Sean Payton's scheme. But here's
part of the scheme that I hope that he runs.
I want him to run that Oprah Winfrey's scheme. And

(08:09):
what I mean. You get a target, You get a target.
You get a target to spread the ball all around
and make sure that it's hard to focus on one
particular guy one area of the field from an offensive standpoint,
and now you're putting the stress on opposing defenses weekend
and week out. Give me the Oprah Winfrey's scheme.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Well, Davis Webb comes from the air raid.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
He comes from from Cliff Kingsbury and Sunnydykes.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
He comes from the air raid. Right.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
So uh, that's a little fast up temple, office up tempo,
spread out targets everywhere.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Things that it has in it.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
That that Sean Payton has not really used. Why stick
and why cross? You see those those are staples of
the air raid. So you know, if it's Davis Webb's offense,
you're probably gonna see a lot more of that, uh
then than we previously have with Sean Payton.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
I want it, I just for me defensively, man, I
just look at it as what would give a defensive
unit just headaches and stress them the hell out. It's
just like you run up tempo because it plays into
the altitude you have here. It gets everyone moving really

(09:23):
rapidly and forcing everyone to get in and out of
their breaks for his quick decisions about the quarterbacks. So
now you can both knicks getting the ball out of
his hands, getting in the hands of his playmakers they're
able to catch, and now we get those jackyards right.
And then defensively, man, you're trying to figure things out.
You can't get guys on the field, the right personnel

(09:44):
on and off the field because the team's going with
a faster tempo than you are prepared for. And I
know when Chip Kelly was in the league, everyone would saying, Okay,
well it is not chip Kelly could not do what
he did at Oregon because you don't have enough players.
But I believe that isn't this what the offseason is for.
You can start to condition your players for this fast tempo.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yeah, but I mean you eventually run the risk of
I mean, if you're running eighty plays in a game,
you know that it's going to get Your defense on
the other side is gonna wind up run an eighty play,
you know what I mean, Like the sixties normally the
magic number. If you start to get higher than that,
you do run out of gas. You do have to
have a second defensive line ready to go, like you
just you just have to plan for that.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Well, what a minute, isn't that what having idea of depth, like,
let's call it what it is. The team did not
make as many changes to the roster because they were
like we locked the guys that we had.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Yeah, I'm just saying, if you're gonna run that cut offense,
you've got to have defensive depth to be able to
be able to work with it. I don't know, like
I'm hoping that we do see the Davis Webb you know,
kind of air ring because it is I mean, anybody
who's ever familiar with the area.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Now, I'm not saying that we're.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Gonna see I mentioned why cross by stick you know,
mesh is huge in the in the air raid. Some
of the other concepts, I mean, I don't know if
we're going to see a whole lot of four verts
they're all hitching it, are any that kind of stuff?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Like they run in the air raid quite a bit?

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Why not? Because the way that offenses run of the scheme,
They run one play to set up another play. Yeah,
so so why not at this point? Why not throw
everything in the pot like gumbo?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
But I'd like this.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
There's some other things I'd like to see that are
big staples that you know the air raid, and that
is shallow cross put. The ball runs shallow cross put
ball Marvin Min's hands. Let him create after this, just
like a power return at that point. Let him create
after the catch, you know what I mean, Except he
doesn't have everybody running downhill after him. And if you're
running shallow if you run shallow cross, the defensive linemen
are all behind you, so you only got you know,
instead of having eleven guys to beat, now you've only

(11:39):
got seven guys.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
So yeah, and then with the shallow cross, you can
run the delay shallow cross, right, and then you can
run the shallow cross with the return like he's looking
at the first time he's racing.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Across, or a motion returns. You can run a deeper.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Dig in the ground and come back at the opposite way. Right.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Some other things that they run smash the run, smash
in the air raid, which is you know, hitch hook
by the outside receiver and then it's a corner wrap
by the inside receiver.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
And so it gives you some some opportunity. And then
the wheel. We haven't seen the wheel route for running backs.
And now you've got guys that could, can't You brought in.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Joe to Coleman, Right, Joe Coleman started off as a
wide receiver, so you can run you know what it
was they that were running the r at night ninety
three each wheel and you can get the slot receiver
running back.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
It starts vertically, it breaks.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Towards the sideline and then then kicks it back upfield,
especially on the back side of the play if you
run a quarter boot to one side and that backside wheel.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
That was the Gus mals On money play.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Okay, so I'm sitting here thinking we'll call this play
Trojan based on the disguise. So pitch of this so
we have wide receiver to the left and the cut split.
He's a minus split. We got we got bowling a
shotgun back offset left. Okay, we have a bunch to
the right side. So if we know, based on what
the Broncos used to do last season, a lot of
those bunch formations where they would just kind of cross

(12:52):
in the middle.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Sometimes our trip's bunch through to the right side and
the backs offset left.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Where's our other? Who's our other?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
When we had a tight end or receiver oside, we
got trips to the right, trips, bunch to the right,
back offset left, and then we got we got a
minus split to our left.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Gotcha?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Okay, all right, so we got we're going to start
with running in a ference with everyone running like what
they're thinking, well, yes, right, right, So now ball, if
he's in trouble, he could think, okay, well going through progressions.
If I need to, I can go right over the ball.
But that's not what I want to do. I want
to use those picks and rubs, whether the team is
a man or's own, because we're going to take the

(13:29):
back and get him from the left to the right
and wheel him out to what the trip side.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Is I'm totally here for it. I'm totally here for it.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Now with that, if you're running mesh like that, you
probably want to it's probably a triangle read and so
the wheel would be the third part of that, I guess,
you know. But anyway, we're getting two deep at the
weeds on some of this stuff. But that is that
is an idea. I'd love to see some of those
concepts integrated into the Broncos offense.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
And I think.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
That's something that if Web does indeed put some kind
of an air raid thumb print on it, something we
could potentially look forward to.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
And here's the other thing too. I mean we talked
about trying to speed this thing up. The great thing
about an offense and making sure that every guy knows
their assignment and this versatility. The guy can play the X,
you play in a slot right, you can play the Z.
Is the fact that you can slow this baby down
too well.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
You could put your foot on the gas.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
You don't have to snap the ball with fifteen seconds
left on the clock. Just get up to the line
and give your quarterback all the time in the world
to read it.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Get guys, get.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Get those defensive the big heavies up there gas so
that they you know, it's multifaceted. Just put your foot
on the gas a little bit doesn't necessarily mean you
got to snap it right away. No, it just means
you getting up to the line. Now, you've got all
day to read what's going on. You know they're gonna
tip their head eventually. You can't say static for fifteen
seconds like that and not tip your hand.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Because I can tell you as a defensive player, when
you're tired and you watch them get up to the
line of scrimmage, you're thinking they're getting ready to snap
the ball, and you're trying to process information. You see
things happening in front of view. But when you're tired,
you're not sure what you just saw right.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Your decision making matrix gets get slowed down, and you're
not as in control of things. You'll start cheating your
hip one way, and I can see which way you know.
I can see what you're doing in coverage based on
which way you're you know, you inside or outside lever.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I can see what you're doing when you lie.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Just little things like that, little subtle nuances like that,
allowing yourself to get up to the line of scrimmage faster.
It gives you a gives your quarterback the opportunity to
diagnose and dissects.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Especially when you have those big guys up front instead
of getting down in three point stands. They're trying, They're
trying to lean until a little those office of line
and trying to reach them and cut them off makes
it easier.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
That makes it super easy on them. You know, l
takes a super easy what's that an NFL six pack?
We don't know those next Pam's back out in front
three two. McKinnon took that shot to the face earlier.
With that puck, I thought he was going to be done.
Of course he came right back out to start the
third period. See this is what I would tell you, guys.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Players are built different.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
A punk to the face, man, that's something.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I am not prepared to take a hockey puck to
the facebook.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Like I said earlier, that's why hockey players are the
toughest pro athletes.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Yes, that beg the.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Differen but that they are a different breed and mentality
from taking the I'm just saying different breed, yes, So
maybe try that with Avante's berthet come across the middle. Yeah,
I'm good on that. I asked Antonio Brown. I messed
you up for life, Vontas bro NFL six pack, It's
time for the NFL six pad. I'm gonna take a

(16:34):
lot year insight and insight information you can't find anywhere else. No.
Six the top six NFL headline What.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
The NFL announced that the Cowboys will host the Eagles
on Thanksgiving Day and Week twelve, with kickoffs set for
two thirty pm Mountain time. The Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game
annually is the highest rated regular season game of the
NFL season, and last year against the Chiefs, they said
a new regular season ratings record with fifty seven point

(17:07):
three million viewers. Now we'll know the entire NFL schedule
on Thursday. But what do you think about the Broncos
possibly getting a Thanksgiving Day game this year?

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Well, they're doing the Black Friday game, too, aren't they.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yes, so I would suggest that I think that the
Broncos will probably be more likely to get that game.
We'll see. You have no guarantee on either one. I
don't I don't know, man, I mean, I don't care.
I don't honestly care. When they are the only thing
about it is having to cover them having to work.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
So if that's why I care thanks these holiday games.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
This last year, you know, like for me, it's a
you know, I don't know, working the.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Work in Thanksgiving. I think that would suck. But you know,
maybe we could have our own Thanksgiving feasts.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Around here, but he can bring some some food in
oh good old fashioned pot luck.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Huh. How about this? How about not working on Thanksgiving
so we can actually sit home and watch some of
those games. And I'm speaking from experience for a guy
who has played all things given in Dallas, who's played
on like what New Year's Eve or wasn't home for
New Year's Eve? Listen, man, it sounds great for everyone

(18:17):
else who's not playing, but man, you want to spend
that time a run your family? Dude?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yeah, I think you know, for us that work the game,
this is seriously first world problems. But it's downfall, the
only downfall of the Broncos being good again as they're
playing all these primetime games. They're playing on holidays and wait,
you know previously the first seven years I worked Broncos
games because like you knew we were gonna kick off
at like eleven am or two pm, and it never changed.

(18:43):
But now we have all these different schedules because the
Broncos are relevant again.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
That's what happens. You get good and then everybody wants
a piece, and then you get Monday.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Night Football, Thursday Night Football, and you know, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
and let's stick to.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Monday Night, Sunday Night and Thursday Night football. Save all
those stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
True.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Well, speaking of Thursday Night Football, the Bills will open
their new stadium on Thursday Night Football in Week two.
They are going to be playing the Lions on September seventeenth.
It will be the first game played at high Mark Stadium.
Prime Video, of course, will broadcast the game as part
of its Thursday Night Football package. The Bills replacing their
longtime home, which opened as Rich Stadium back in nineteen

(19:24):
seventy three, with a new two billion dollar facility across
Abbot Road. The Bills have won their past four home
openers dating back to twenty twenty two, averaging thirty eight
and a half points.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Per game and those openers. Is it a kind of a.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Bittersweet feeling for the Bills to be moving to a
new stadium And what have you heard about the new
stadium point.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Well, I will say this, the Broncos have looked into
what the Bills have done out of their new stadium.
The want to incorporate some of those elements so they
can maintain an outdoor field while still covering the NFL's
rules on retractable roof and indoor proof get you know,
in those kinds of things. So I would say keep
an eye out on that because that may be something

(20:05):
going with that. Also, the Bills that opening that Week two,
they might be the Broncos Week one opponent. The Bills
had to play the Denver Broncos. The Bills will have
an away game to start the season the Broncos. The
Bills had to play the Broncos away, so it is
entirely possible this Broncos could open the season with Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
As a guy that spent my first year, eight weeks
of my NFL career in Buffalo, I mean, this is
great for all those fans. And if you look at
the side by side of the two stadiums, the old
stadiums is dwarf by the new stadium and the esthetics
of the new stadiums it's freaking amazing. So it's gonna

(20:43):
be great to see, but yeah, you want that Rufflobio's
team here at in power Field Week one.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
How excited are you guys for the Broncos in new stadium?
Not just for football fans, but what else it could
bring to the city.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Well, I'm excited for all the peripheral stuff it could bring,
the draft, you know those kinds of things, which final
four maybe, yeah, those.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
I'm thinking about the food, A new stadium, new menu right, Well, yeah,
I mean see, have you already got down to see
I'm thinking about the most important things.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I don't know what you guys thinking about at water
bar and grill, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Which which we still have.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
From that day. I know we need to talk to
steel well holding out.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
On us three, Well, someone else who was holding out.
Aaron Rodgers may have been in Pittsburgh over the weekend,
but this visit didn't include a meeting with the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
A report from.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Ninety three point seven The Fan in Pittsburgh late last
week said that Rogers would be at the team's facility
and that he was expected to sign with the team
before the weekend was over. Subsequent subsequent reports cast doubt
on the eminent signing. Whether the Steelers had any idea
that Rogers was going to be in the city and
that any meeting was in the works. Saturday brought word

(21:55):
that Rogers and the Steelers had not met, and Adam
Schefter of ESPN said on the Pat macv Show earlier
today that the weekend passed without any interaction between the
quarterback and the team. What do you make of this
story about Aaron Rodgers not meeting with the Steelers even
though he was in Pittsburgh and will he be a
Pittsburgh Steeler by week one?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Look at Aaron Rodgers making some story all about him
and creating drama where there doesn't need to be one
shocking shock her. I don't think it's really that big
a deal. He either is or isn't going to play
for him. He either is or isn't gonna do that
aren't thing? And the Steelers are at the point now
where it's like, Okay, well we're gonna move on. As
you know, we got these two young guys. We're gonna
prep as though they would be the guys. And you know,

(22:33):
if Aaron Rodgers shows up, he already knows the offense
with Mike McCarthy's the terminology and we'll we'll go back
to that.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Well, I'll say this, if there's one guy who knows
how to promote himself and keep the narratives focused on
him to expand his brand, it is one Aaron Rodgers.
And listen, even though he was in Pittsburg, he meet
me the team who cares if I'm thinking that they've
had some conversations over this time and knows kind of

(23:00):
basically what he wants to do, and he's just trying
to stall them off debo because he's probably gonna end
up signing backwards tools.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Is there any other team interested in Aaron Rodgers besides
the Steelers?

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Now, no, not even a little bit.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Four Well, wide receiver Michael Woods has a team interested
in him, and that is our Denver Broncos. For Tom
Pelasero of NFL Media, he reported that the Broncos will
sign Woods to their ninety man roster. Woods took part
in the team's rookie mini camp over the weekend as
a tryout player. Woods was a Brown sixth round pick

(23:36):
in twenty twenty two. Played ten games as a rookie,
but missed all of twenty twenty three with a torn
achilles The returned for five games in twenty twenty four
and finished his time in Cleveland but twelve catches for
one hundred and ten yards. Woods spent time on the
Packers practice squad after being cut by the Browns last year.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Now we've got Michael.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Woods, Courtland Sutton, Jaalen Wattle, Marvin Mems, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant,
and Lil Jordan Humphrey.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Who is the odd man out in the Broncos wide
receiver room.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Well, we'll see who all that is.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Michael Woods was a four to three seven forty guy
back in the day.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
He can he can fly.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
I spent pre seasons at Arkansas, were transferred to Oklahoma.
He he had he had some issues point he started.
He had a he had a d we I think
d w I when he was a freshman there. He's
you know, it's been that. He also got suspended. The
Browns suspended him for the final six games for violating
the Personal Conduct Policy, stemming from an incident over the

(24:31):
summer back in what twenty twenty three.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Uh, And it's gonna be tough to crack the roster here, obviously,
but we'll see as as far as the rest of
it goes.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
I think the odd man out to me would be
trying trade Troy Franklin, Marvin Mihims. Seems a little redundant
with with Waddell, But you need a return guy. So
if one of the other guy steps up of a
return guy, then those two guys will Jordan Humphrey's gonna
be here until you know, Sean Payton embalms him or whatever,
because that's that's his dude.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
What is the mummies last he passes away?

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I guess I'm saying, oh, here until he dies and
the shot and while I'm.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
T batack out there, it's not the same statistical production
as in a bald mummy as he does now Listen, I.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Don't think this whole idea with Michael Woods changes anything
as far as who the Broncos are going to keep,
all of that would be determined and training camp when
guys get pass on and we see him move around
against some of the starters. But I will say, I
mean just having him in the building, it gives some
guys paws and reason for them to look over their shoulders.

(25:31):
And once again you know Wilson's had an a kid
his injured as he fully recovered from them, and if
he gets back to the old speed he has, maybe
therefore he becomes a threat. But right now I don't
think he is a real threat for any of the
guys in the row five.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Adrian Peterson had an eventful trip to the Vikings facility
last week. He thought he was in town to speak
to the team's rookies ahead of their mini camp, but
the Vikings had something to share with him. Peterson was
filming content for the team's website and former Viking John
Randall entered the room and showed Peterson a display that
revealed he has been elected to the franchise's Ring of Honor.

(26:09):
Peterson was the seventh pick of the two thousand and
seven draft, and he spent ten years with the Vikings.
Peterson led the league in rushing three times during that stint,
including his two thousand yard season in twenty twelve that
ranks as the second best single season effort in NFL history.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
He was named the League MVP that year.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
And is the last non quarterback to win the award.
Back in twenty twelve. The last non quarterback, Peterson, who
is the Vikings all time leading rusher and rushing touchdowns
leader also set the NFL record for single game rushing
yards by busting loose for two hundred and ninety six
yards in a two thousand and seven game. To also
be eligible for election into the Pro Football Hall of

(26:47):
Fame for the first time in twenty twenty seven, So
there could be back to back honors for Peterson in
the near future. He's got to be a first ballot
Hall of Famer, right, And where would you rank him.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Among all time running backs? Yeah, he's he's got to
be up there, meaning almost fifteen thousand yards hunting and
twenty touchdowns. He's got to be up there in terms of,
you know, in terms of where you put the Alzheimers.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Does he crack the top five Alzheim running backs? Probably not? Uh,
top ten?

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Maybe you would be wrong, my friend. I'm going to
speak from experience. I played against his dude. This dude
was cut from a different cloth. After he came out
the assembly line, they blew up the factory because he
was a different dude. And for a guy to shred
his knee, come back the year after and rush for

(27:41):
as many yards as he.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Did like eight months later, that.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
That is freaking unreal. And if you're looking for rushing
leaders as far as yards are concerned.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
I think he was fourth or fifth when.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
He Nope, well he is fifth. Yes, to be correct,
he is fifth. He's right above my flow, my teammate
to Curtis Martin.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
So yeah, he's a Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
But I mean, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, you're putting. I mean,
if you're taking a top five all time running backs,
you're just taking.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Thomlinson. He's in Walter Payton, Eric Dickerson.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Wait, wait a minute. If I'm not mistaken, ap came
close to Dickerson's single season rushing record.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
You do not close close.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
Yeah, okay, he's in the boat, my dude. If you're
talking about the top four running backs of all time
as it's stand right now, he's in that group.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
I don't know, man, he has seventeen hundred He had
seventeen hundred more yards career than Eric Dickerson, but he
also played like five more seasons.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
So who are you taking off the mount rushmore? If
Adrian Peterson is on, that'sort of saying, because you got
to have Barry and Emmett on their.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Fran Barry Sanders, Ladanton Thomains and Walter Payton.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
That's what DA doesn't even have as many yards as.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
The receiving on top of it, though he La Dadim
was a different animal.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
I'm gonna tell you both of those dudes were dogs
and not played against both of them. Right for Ladanian,
you had to worry about the jump cut from AP
you had to worry about the jump cut getting run
over and run by.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
So Toyp's ahead of LT. Yes in my book, okay.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Absolutely nine.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
I'll respected six. Well.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
We mentioned the Steelers not settling anything with quarterback Aaron
Rodgers yet for the twenty twenty sixth season, but they
got a deal done with their kicker, Chris Boswell. Adam
Schefter of ESPN reported that Boswell has agreed to a
four year extension with the team and put him under
contract in Pittsburgh through the twenty thirty season, and Boswell's
deal is worth twenty eight million dollars a seven million

(29:44):
dollar average annual salary on the extension.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
That's equal to Brandon Aubrey, who.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Signed with the Cowboys earlier this offseason, making him tied
for the highest paid kicker and NFL history. Boswell heading
into his twelfth season with the Steelers. He's two hundred
and ninety nine of three hundred and forty one on
field goals through his career, and he was a first
team All Pro in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
How much is too much to pay a kicker?

Speaker 1 (30:12):
It seems like we're reaching that, Rennix.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
I think it's dependents.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
I mean, these days, with kickers having the legs that
they do, you can take the ball, you can fair
catch the kick, take the ball and you get two
first downs.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
You're in field goal rage, you know.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
So if you got somebody who can consistently hit from
those out of reaches like Aubrey, it changes the dynamic
of the game. If you're able to you know, if
all you got to get is twenty five yards to
get a score, changes the dynamic of the game.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
But man, as a guy that played the ball in
my career, especially team that, I could say this, kickers
are undervalue.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Until kickers are people too, yes, and so you.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Really need one of those guys to kind of come
through with you in the clutch. They realize how important
they are, and that's the weapon. Like Ben said, I mean,
if you have to just get to midfield and a
guy can get you points. That is a sheer weapon.
And they're saying, listen, how can we can get highst
paid office of lineman, highs paid quarterback where we can't

(31:07):
get highst paid kicker? Yeah? Can I kick it? Yes,
I can.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Nothing like a tribe called quest reference.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
To there you go.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Yeah, I mean yeah, there are some under it. Now.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
There are teams that have been struggling.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
I mean the commander has been through what like fifteen
kickers in the last three years. Yeah, because they can't
find a guy. I mean it's when you when you
are on the other side of that coin and you
can't you can't find a guy, and you you you
realize how valuable it is to have that late game close.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
It's like having a closing pitcher in baseball, right. Yeah,
they might only work one inning, but man, is that
inning valuable.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
We're also thinking about it like this, if you're in
a fantasy team, having a guy like that that can
get you like a championship last year saying you know,
I'm just saying we gotta look at the game different yep,
and people too, and it does.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I mean again, if it changes, it changes that I
ynamics where you're not punting and you're getting points instead
of punting. You know that changes the entire dynamic of
a game. If you're reducing two punts to two field goals,
that's a touch that's an extra touchdown every game.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
We just need you to make them how to get
him blocked.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
He just needs to make them.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
