The question is will the Niners, like, is this situation
so petty that the Niners are going to be petty
and not release and force him not to play at all,
versus letting him go to the Commanders where they want him.

He wants to be there, and you know, well, how
would that benefit to Niners?

One of the things that general managers and coaches have
to decide on these joint practices with other teams.

Bronco's not doing that this year. Four team's not doing
it this year. I think that's a mistake personally.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
I don't know how you guys feel about it, but
I think having another team in there to come let
out some of the frustration, break up the monotony, so
you're not just playing the same guy you've been playing
the whole time, and you start, you know, you get
used to that. I think it's a good thing. I
don't know why they're not doing it this year. We
haven't gotten an exact reason as to why they're not
doing it, but I think it's a mistake.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Yeah, well, I think that if they would have had
it on the schedule. Yeah, it's great to do, but man,
I mean most of the time teams don't do it,
and most of the teams.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Are fine front.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
I don't think it's one of those things that's mandatory
in order to get your guys, you know, to play well.
But it does give the guys a little bit of
a break of beating up on their own teammates and
you get a chance to go at it with with
with some new people and give you a new competition,
new offense, new defense that you hadn't played against.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Really, and.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Yeah, I like it, but I don't think we're gonna
miss it that much.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I make the difference because at first I was one
of these former players that didn't like joint practices. But well,
I mean because you have to travel, like we had
to go to New Orleans, right, and I don't like
New Orleans because it was just hiding buggy in New Orleans.
But other than that, I mean, you get quality work
out of joint practices. And considering that, hey, listen, Broncos
(21:33):
have some new pieces on the office side of the ball,
and oh, by the way, you have a new play call.
I'm giving you air quotes here with Davis Webb. You
want to see what that looks like because we.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Know pas anyway exactly.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
I mean so, but you're able to get that level
of push pull competition against someone else and you can
evaluate the practice because let's be totally honest, when we
see preseason games, teams are not running their best stuff anyway, right,
some of the starters are not really playing even though
they reduce the games from four to three games. So
this is where you can get quality evaluation of younger
(22:08):
players because a lot of those younger players, even when
they playing a lot and in these preseason games, usually
they're playing more reps.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Than they practice with.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
So you can't really evaluate it because those dudes a blow,
they're tired, and some of those guys get fired because
of that.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
And joint practices, right, let them do it that that
particular way.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
I also think there's there's an inherent value to breaking up,
you know, breaking up patterns. I think in shaking people
out of I don't want to call it apathy, but
but out of a complacency.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Uh, And those joint practices do that, you know, we
still have the games on the weekend. Yeah, but you're
not getting the same quality of competition.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Your number ones are running out there for a handful
of snaps of those things, and those guys plays all year.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
And then when you when you talk about joint practices,
you can talk with the opposing coach and say, okay.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Well, what do you want to work on day coach, Well,
we want to work inside the red zone.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
We want to work on third down two, we want
to work on the backed up situation of football.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
So you get a chance to do that with live
reps that you get evaluate as they are.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
You listen, I remember when the Cowboys came here, or
every I mean the Rams came here. The Cowboys came here.
And when you see those guys in practice, you know
you was live when they blow to whistle Steve, no, no, no,
but but you you get that once again, that push
(23:35):
pull with your offensive line versus opposing defensive line.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
And what's the one thing that yes, those guys, but
that's where the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Needed the most, because what's been the biggest issue for
the Broncos over the past couple of years the inability
to run the ball. They got three capable running backs
right now, and the offensive line. I mean, you want
those guys to get used to people off the ball
be what you want, Yeah, I mean I had to
(24:06):
warm up to it.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
I had to warm up to it. Fight.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
There's other things too, like if you're a corner though,
and you've been going to gainst the same receiver, you
start playing the man instead of the technique, right, And
I think there's something to getting.

Back to that my having new blood come through there,
you know.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
As far as that goes, come on, come on, see No, No,
those practices that I've seen have been intense because guys
are getting after it. The only one that that kind
of quiets the temperatures off the coaches like, well, you know,
we don't really want to get into it. But no,
those joint practices, I mean those in the squad practices.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
I know when I played with the Jets and don't
be a flight. Yeah, but sometimes I like to see that.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
I like to see which player is in the mix,
Like if someone goes after you, who's coming to help you?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
I'm coming hell. Bands are becoming to health. Actually I
started to fight to begin with.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
I used to gage before you hit him, you know,
highest to get in the fight to begin with.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Actually, as a coach, you want to see you don't
want to see fights, but you want to see guys.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Who are going to come together, who's gonna mix it up,
and you know you can depend on sex secrets back
there behind the glass, you guys saw uh Benzakora. I
don't know if you guys know who that is.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
He's six foot nine, two hundred and sixty eight pound
Australian rugby player has quit rugby to pursue his dream
of playing.

In the NFL. Okay, how big is it? Six nine
to sixty eight? Maybe a tight end?

He's I think he's an offensive tackle or a defensive
tackle with I do believe.

Six how's hoall is Caleb Lohoner? He's Cale Blohner is

this guy benccrey is gonna try out as he in
an offensive tackle.

rugby player you got kind of got to so I
wonder if he can catch. Though, If he can catch,
he'd be one hell of a tight end.

Though the tackle thing worked out pretty well for my

You don't have a quarterback throws the running back runs
a swing rop, but the quarterback throws it late and
a little bit behind them where he's got to turn
it shoulders right, and the defenders already got the beat
on him so as he turned around.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Yeah, for me, like if you ever played flex boone,
you know, you played option football, you sort of get
a taste, a little bit into the taste because sort
of what how rugby works, you know, with the with
the laterals and the pitching and all that. It's it's
it's interesting, it's fun, it's fun game to play, and
the ball is bigger ball, a little bigger you're not
wearing pads and all that, so everybody's i mean everybody's

cognitive safety right like you're not.

I think I think the pads actually make you more
reckless because you put a lot of faith in and
all that protective gear, whereas in rugby, like you're not
wearing all that.

Those tongue in teams New Zealand. Yeah, those dudes with
thighs looking like Barry words. Yeah, yeah, you know what
