if you're running the ball, you are eating up clock.
You're keeping your defense, i mean offense off the field.

when he was here with the Denver Broncos. So you
can get more stops, more opportunities offensively. So we're gonna

see a different type of Cowboys team this year.

Well, office courting at Clayton Adams wants to be a
run first offense. That's what they want to do. It's
so having Javonte and Jaydens a one two punch, I
think helps, and it'll open things up because defense is
just gonna start bike down on that run game. And
then when they bike down that run game you mentioned
seconds lamb on the outside you get the one on
ones with them. They added Marquez Valdez Scantley to get
a little speed out there as well. I mean, you know,
I think the Cowboys gonna be a pretty decent team

I think they are too, And I love the Caleb
Downs draft pick. I mean, like, what what Mark could
you ask for for a safety coming into the league

them last year and they were better than a lot
of people thought they were going to be. I think
they're a legit contender out of the NFC this year.

and you can also help out with the play calling
being more dynamic and creative with the play calling. So
for this team to elevate their status to being a
top ten offense, they need to run the ball at
a high level, be efficient at it right, and just

that Cam Jordan's return to the team is huge for
team culture. Did the Broncos miss out by not signing Jordan?
And will Jordan's presence be valuable for the the Saints
this year?

I think it will.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think Jordan's leveraged that thing beautifully because he got
that deal done right as the John Cooper stuff was
going down, and you know, if the Saints were worried
that the Broncos we're gonna we're gonna scoop him up
real quick, which you know, there have been conversations, you know,
I think that could have been good for the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
I think at the end it'll be good for the Saints.
At Saints probably gonna be a good football team this year.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
If Todder Shuck improves on what he did year want,
it probably be a decent football team this year.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
So don't sleep on the New Orleans Saints. I think
this uh.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Bows where for the New Orleans Saints because here's a
guy who's familiar with everything that thing too. And I
know Cameron Jordan was a guy based on his ties
with the Saints and Sean Payton for after John Franklin
Myers decided to sign where the Tennessee Titans or bring
this guy in. Maybe he helped out. No, you know what,
it worked out the way that it did. He's now
(05:52):
staying with New Woleans. He's gonna be beneficial for him
because he knows that organization. He knows what screws to
turn walking into the Denver Locker role. Yeah yeah, could
he have helped the team out in some particular ways,
but it would not have made amazing a massive impact
the way that it would make with him returning to
the Saints. No one is though. They're trying to turn
the corner. They're trying to turn things around organization wise.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
The playoffs were the Saints this here?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I mean, they've got the right division to be competitive
for it.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
You Atlanta, right, you know? I mean who knows? So
they're in the right division. I almost have said that
last year. Yeah, so say four.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers shared this week that he's picking
up Mike McCarthy's offense quickly because.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
He already knows it. That's stuff we used to run.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Should Steelers fans feel more optimistic about the pre existing
familiarity with the attack or worried about the potentially stale
or dated elements leading to that familiarity.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
I mean, it can't be worse than it was last year. Right.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Familiarity breeds uh I success in a lot of ways.
I think it takes a lot of the thinking out
of it, you know, and for a quarterback that's a
good thing. You don't want to overthink it and slow
yourself down. You want to be reactive and kind of
know where things are. So I think it's a good thing.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
I think he's always great when you're able to be
in an offense or defense that you're quite familiar with
and the fact of saying, hey man, I'm picking it up.
Think about it. He hasn't been in that offense for
a while. He spent some time with the New York Jets,
even though they think you hack it was there that
never bloss him to anything.

And then he.

Spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where you know, their
offensive coordinator Arthur Smith ran some different concepts. So for
him selling back into the offense, I like to hear this.
So this means as though we should see a more
motivated Aaron Rodgers, but the two wide receivers that he
has outside the numbers, Pittman and that other guy, DK Metcalf,

just that other guy, we should see.

Some big numbers over under eight and a half wins
for the Steelers this year.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Under I'm gonna say the over. Oh, I agree with you.
A Baltimore team, it looks like it's gonna be something.

Maybe you know Grant team wins a few games, they
get the Browns twice, But we don't know.

What Baltimore is gonna be. We don't know what Cleveland's
gonna be.

They're gonna be bad.

We know Cleveland's gonna be bad, and we know her
probably be pretty decent.

So it's for Pittsburgh under I one with the over
as well. I think Baltimore is gonna be good, Wills.

I think you have three playoff teams out of the
AFC North this year.

Five. Titans defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons admitted that he felt
jealous seen as former head coach Mike Rabel lead the
New England Patriots to the Super Bowl. Really thought that
sentence was going somewhere else for I pause, I really
thought that was going somewhere else for a minute, like.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Wow, because of his affair? No, just kidding.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Was the Titans' decision to fire variable the worst coach
firing and recent and NFL history? And do you think
Robert Salah can right the ship in Tennessee?
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:05):
I think Roberts sala is a great coach.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I think he was in an ugly situation there in
New York and you know and all that, but I
think he's got the right staff with him. I think
he's a great coach, and I think he will absolutely
turn Tennessee around.

As far as.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Everything else goes. I mean, you know Rabel. I mean,
Rabel's a good coach too. It was a dumb mistake
to fire him, and they made a series of dumb
mistakes after that.

But I think they get the right guy. I think
Bob Sal'll be good there. I can speak truth.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
The power because I've been around Robert Salad. There's gonna
be a little different toll when we see the Tennessee Titans.
And also you got Brian Dable there with the young
quarterback who's going into his second year, so it's gonna
look a lot different.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
And yeah, I did it. Jeffers Simmons should.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Be jealous, he said, Okay, but I was playing for
this guy. Now he is coaching for another team. They
go to the super Bowl, because every player wants.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
To go to the Super Bowl.

Played for a super Bowl winning organization and hit coach.
But now he gets a chance to kind of duplicate
that himself and maybe get a little upset and may
be a little motivated to go out there and do
his job at a high level. Even though he did
at a high level and he got paid handsomely.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
For it one hundred million guarantees, put the money into
the hard work. Do you think there's a step back
for the Patriots this year? I mean, in your mind
once again, I think they're I think they're a playoff team.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I mean, as possible, you could be a better football
team and have a worse record. I think Broncos could
be in that category, you know, I mean just the
way things shake out. I don't know about step back.
I think they'll take a step forward as a team.
I don't know if the record's going to be better,
it might be worse.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
I think they're gonna take a step forward because think
about where they were as far as how bad their
offensive line was said to be, and look at where
they were able to get to and their defense wasn't
considered to be one of the top defensive units in
the NFL, but they were still able to get turnovers
and stops in a timely fashion.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
But they also get to play the offensive Jets twice.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
I mean, that's four free wins that you know, so
it kind.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Of helps you out a little bit.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Even with that first place schedule, you got four freebies
in there.
Speaker 4 (11:09):

who's in front of you. That's all you do, right,

Six Cowboys second year running back Jayden Blue told The
Athletic he's changed his practice habits thankfully and feels ready
to pop in twenty twenty six. Could the Cowboys have
the league's best offense this season and how important of
a role will Blue play in that attack?
Speaker 4 (11:36):
I think the fact that the Cowboys could get back
to running the ball. We saw what Javonte Williams was
able to do. Yeah, absolutely, because when we think about
the Cowboys, what are two of the things that they
hadn't done well over the years? Run the ball, play defense,
and part of playing defense is stop in explosive play. Now,
(11:56):
if you're running the ball, you are eating up clock.
You're keeping your defense, i mean offense off the field.
So yeah, I'd expect things will look a lot different
with the Cowboys because you gotta expect that.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
I mean, there's a lot of pressure on Jerry Jones, Dak.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Prescott, but also thinking about Ceedee Lamb and they got
George Pickens back. So this was an offense last year
that surprised a lot of people. With the addition of
George Pickens, so in the second year in this offense.
And don't forget they got a new defensive coordinator who
I really like. I really liked him. I liked him
when he was here with the Denver Broncos. So you
can get more stops, more opportunities offensively. So we're gonna
(12:31):
see a different type of Cowboys team this year.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Well, office courting at Clayton Adams wants to be a
run first offense. That's what they want to do. It's
so having Javonte and Jaydens a one two punch, I
think helps, and it'll open things up because defense is
just gonna start bike down on that run game. And
then when they bike down that run game you mentioned
seconds lamb on the outside you get the one on
ones with them. They added Marquez Valdez Scantley to get
a little speed out there as well. I mean, you know,
I think the Cowboys gonna be a pretty decent team
(12:54):
this year.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
I think they are too, And I love the Caleb
Downs draft pick. I mean, like, what what Mark could
you ask for for a safety coming into the league
than him and what he proved at Alabama and Ohio State.
I think the Cowboys are going to be a legit
team this year. I know a lot of people say
that nationally every year. Ben was on the train for
them last year and they were better than a lot
of people thought they were going to be. I think
they're a legit contender out of the NFC this year.
(13:17):
Where do you think the Broncos offense will end up
being ranked by the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
You think they're a top ten offense. I mean that's
the question. Can they stay healthy? Is Jayla Wattle going
to be what you thought he was going to be?
This has potential to be a top ten offense for sure.
The question is at the end of the day, does
bow take that next step forward?
Speaker 4 (13:32):
It?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Does everybody stay healthy?
Speaker 2 (13:34):
I mean Bowhead the most dropbacks in the league couldn't
hit four thousand yards or thirty touchdowns last year.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
That was saying something they had to do with the
cast around him dropping balls.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Oh yeah, not just that, but being able to run
the ball. Because when the team can't run the ball,
the fingers automatically get pointed at oh's the running backs
fall he can't run the ball. I just mentioned Javonte Williams.
That was what people were saying, well, the Broncos was
successful running the ball because Javonte is coming off injury,
he wasn't the same person.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
He lost the step. But then what do we see happen?
Speaker 4 (14:03):
He goes to the Cowboys and all of a sudden
things change for him, right, So come.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
On, man, yeah, I look, I when it comes to
when it comes to bow I think there's there's a
lot to love, but there's still a lot to prove.
He hasn't shown he's a guy who can hit that
deep ball perfect just yet. He hasn't shown that he's
hitting over the middle of the field. He has shown him.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Get rid of it, won't take negative plays.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
But there's the difference between being Alex Smith and being
you know, and being what they want Boonix to be.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
And I would say at this point, you know.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
That bow Is sort of has been in his Alex
Smith era, right, not a lot of turnovers, not taking
any sacks, but most of the passes we're hitting or
underneath type stuff.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
With the act stuff going on, you're going to.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Have to be able to start to get these vertical, uh,
these vertical situations going and that's you know, that's where
it's at.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
I understand that there's a lot of things that both
needs to do to fine tune his overall passing game
to become or send to elite status, if you will.
But the other part of being able to create balance
on a consistent basis by running the ball, and that
doesn't necessarily mean just turn around and hand it to
the running back and just let him do all the work. No,
(15:20):
the guys up front need to do their part as well,
and you can also help out with the play calling
being more dynamic and creative with the play calling. So
for this team to elevate their status to being a
top ten offense, they need to run the ball at
a high level, be efficient at it right, and just
don't run away from it when it doesn't go the
(15:42):
way that you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, I think we're all looking forward to seeing what
this new look offense is going to be. That kind
of thing, and so I think, you know, at the
end of the day, we all want to know, like
what is Davis web bringing to the table, How does
this change things?
Speaker 1 (15:55):
How does Jayla Wonnell change things?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
And I think we're excited about both taking that next step,
but he does need to take that next step, like
it's not just the cast.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Bo's got to do some things too well.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
I mean, we look at any sport, we always especial
in the NFL, everything kind of flows back to the quarterback.
Everything is on his shoulders, and it's just like, well,
if he does well, the team is going to do
well well. Once again, it is the ultimate team sport.
So why is one player being the quarterback and bow
(16:26):
knicks once again, a couple of things that he can
work on, But I'll tell you he's one of the
better young quarterbacks at throwing the ball outside the pocket.
They just need to bring the offense along by running
the ball and being efficient that we do.
