think that this is a it's a fun day for
these guys because Vj's in charge, And I was thinking,

like when you're growing up and you have the two
parents and you have the one that's the disciplinarian, and
then when they're gone, you get like a little more
you know. I mean at my house was like my dad.

about VJ being in charge.

you did you bring our breakfast to bed or pre
clean so you could get the ice cream when you
knew dad was gone?

about it yesterday when he was on the podium, and
then Jake Kuaman was on the podium as well, talking
about the respect he has for Vans, and I just
think it's gonna it's a cool opportunity for him, and
Sean's good about that too. It was kind of like

let letting Davis call the plays last year in preseason,
where Sean understands as much as you know, all we
read about him in that long SI article about you know,
how crazy controlling he can be, he also knows that,
you know, we're not around forever, and he knows that
he's got to figure out how to get people, you know,
the succession plan and whatnot and helping people that are

worth getting the chance get the chance.

Were surprised Aske didn't get a head coaching was the
last cycle. I was too, because I know they really
want They liked the idea of bringing it back there
in Arizona, and then that sort of fell apart when
fans got wind of it. And you know, the fans
were so fortunate. Well, I thought it was funny because
the fans revolted when Vance was coming back here, and
there was like a symmetry to that. I'm like, guys,
get it, let it happen, give it time. And sure enough,

I think the fans that were revolting at the time
are now, you know, a lot more happy.

But honestly, is it I mean sometimes things like that
may be a blessing in disguise. Was Arizona really the
place that he'd want to go to? And and honestly,
I mean, you look at some of these guys were like,
I want to go to a place where actually have
a chance to win. You don't just walk into something
where you're destined to fail because everybody else has failed
before and they just don't have I mean, they've got
Trey McBride, And.

Yes, I mean theoretically Marvin Harrison. But do you see
the practice video.

I just thought, okay, yeah, so I was. I was
quite surprised. So I'm excited that he gets to run

respond to him and love him. So I think it'll

the game after the six week juggernaut, right, So now
they have the Thursday night game against Seattle here and
then it's at Arizona the week after, the week after
got ten days off. Yea, see, Susie, we're debating it.

thinks the over under the game is going to be
really spread.

So I don't want to say, I want to see

I would say it have to even though we are
on the road. I mean, it'll probably be like a
three and a half, but I'd like to say it's
a seven and a half.

I would say it's completely telling on the season because
then you know what the second half, like they have
by whatever metric you want to use drangth the schedule.

The first six weeks is.

The hardest in the season in the league, right, I mean,
the first six week is the hardest rate of the schedule,
but then the back half is the why During the
schedule of the weekends, it's it's wide open up until
you get to that like Buffalo Chargers Chiefs, you know,
kind of sort of.

But you also get into a lot of games that
could have weather definitely play a factor into. I mean,
Pittsburgh on Black Friday. We have got New York on
the road, and I'm all, we're also I'm also we're
also in New England, and so there's just like these
games that.

Are like so we also get a lot of the
bottom teams in the Arizona. We do Miami, Tennessee, the
Raiders twice Carolina. Carolina's could be better, I think the
people say, but if we get the Raiders twice, they're
not gonna be good. I mean, you have Kirk Cousins
and Max Crosby fighting fighting pro.

still on the air when we come home from a
road game, you have been on the air for way
too long time. And that that's I mean, it's potential
that it can happen after like a KC game or
a Raiders game or something, because.

Yeah, we do a six hour post game on on
the eleven.

Marvin Mims is out here walking around, looks good, which
is great. Jalen Waddle looks better so far, Susie, it.

was not what I was looking for right off the top.

I was just thinking about that, Yeah, because that was
really weird. Yesterday We're just Marvin leaves and then all
of a sudden, Nate's walking with him, like do they
What's what's happening? And he never came back either.

So astickins right there. He's also not racticing, okay, yeah,
but he's standing, he's observing, he's out here. So even
though it's the theme of like this early portion of
training camps, Susie, it feels like we've been getting relatively
good news.

Oh I think so.

Yeah.

I mean you said you're gonna get you know, it's
a whole different gig. No matter how many OTAs you
do or mini camp you know, little mini camp should
do in June, you are always going to have something
that comes up when you start practicing every single day
like this, So let's get these little things out of
the way. We do have. I mean, I'm convinced some
of the best as far as the training room goes

and strength and conditioning and getting guys healthy again. And
they're constantly I think, you know, working and checking out
new things and what else can we do with this
new facility. I mean, my goodness, they've got everything they
could possibly need in there because they've spared no expense,
and so it's, you know, whatever happens, we still have
a long time until that first game, so it gives

them a long time to get healthy, get better, get
these little things out of the way.

Right now, it's not concerning for you, right, I mean,
I think fans because it's been happening every day. Yeah,
and you get you get this kind of like I
acquated this with Dave the other day because there's like
that shoe, the other shoe's gonna drop. Like it's been
a really tough run for a decade. Things are finally
turning around. We're starting to feel good about the Broncos

in the direction they're headed. And you just had this
sense like doom is on the horizon. I don't believe
doom is on the horizon.

I think that's a really deep emotional thing for you.

That's not an emotional I'm telling you what what Broncos
fans have been.

Yeah, they've been saying they've been.

So you don't feel that.

I don't feel that. Oh, I'm saying right, they've been
hit you guys once in a while. Will listen, I'm
saying they they have been hitting me up and saying like,
are you worried because we have all these injuries. We've
had good injury luck up to this point, yes, but
now I feel like it's about time for us to
not have that good luck.

But we've had good luck and the fact that there
hasn't been lots of devastating injuries aside from Bow's ankle,
you know, Matt henningson yesterday. I mean devastating, but yes,
that was Your key people have had little things here
and there. They've missed a few games. We've had concussions,
We've had you know, so things like that did happen
last year. Pat Bryant's out for a while because of
his concussion. You have a few games here and there

that some of your key players missed, and yet look
at how we finished up. So I think that you
have little things in here. They are manageable there you
can come back from them. There's nothing that hasn't been
horribly devastating, aside from Matt Yea.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I also think that that's a testament to the depth
of the roster now because that it's not devastating because
you have capable next guys up and you get a
lot of these cases.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
So I was talking with Nick about this the other day.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
It was like, if Bow goes down, that's devastating, right, yes,
but as you look around, I mean even we've had
Certan out like for in small stretches for and it's
been okay.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
And I think I think if yeah, I think if
sach Allen goes down, that's a problem. Bo Dix goes down,
that's a problem.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
But otherwise we've got a pretty good next man up,
you know. At credit to George Peyton for putting this
roster together, agreed.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
And last year we saw Alex out for a little
while because of his to testicular cancer and then you
just see you know, different pieces and that I mean,
he's your your captain of the defense. He's the one
calling you know, the plays and whatnot, and they're able
to you know, throw in and and and figure out
who's going to be in there. So they do have
the depth which is huge and so knock on wood

that that the key key key guys that Ben just mentioned,
they stay healthy.

We are a conversation verstar. I want to ask you
about it.

Who could represent a featured guy in the preseason, like
an Albert o'kawabanam who.

You're featuring for a potential trade?

mean a lot of people probably think, well, maybe a
little Jordan Humphrey maybe, but but I think Sean likes
him way too much. Oh that's a good question. I
need I need to think more on that, because I
just I don't know who'd.

You guys tie t Franklin to the defense? You got
Riley Moss, maybe a Brandon Jones for a.

Trade if you're if you're showcase, I'm just looking at
depth you because you've got John Ay.

There, you've got Chris Aden's strain like.

Maybe, but I mean you got right like I say,
you've got if you're looking at areas where you've got
a surplus, now you would say the edge rushroom, but
with Coop's you know, potential looming suspension and then you know,
getting a little thinged up. Maybe you don't want to
dip in there and trade off and Elis or a
Q or Andrea Tillman, you know.

Bit just based on that absolutely, Lucas Crowl was another
name that popped up.

I would say the tight end room would be a
room where if you're going to showcase somebody. Maybe that's
a tradable.

Maybe you kind of run out of you kind of
run out of real estate for him on the roster,
So maybe that's one.

Yeah, although teams might be pretty like hip to that,
knowing like what the room looks like.

I mean, because you've got three guys that.

Are like wow, but but then you feature them, you
give them twenty carries, hoping to fill us for a buck,
you know, in two touchdowns, and then you say, look,
trade us for him or else you're going to be
competing to sign him.

That's because we're worried about Julia making it what about
uh Tyler Bade.

Coleman started as a receiver before. He's a running back
back in high school. He's okay, you know, he's a
guy who can catch a little bit. You also get
that kid they brought in from Northern Arizona. The receiver
he's not. You know, he's at the most natural returner
at least catching the ball out of the air.

But they've been trying him back there. So yeah, they've
been trying cats this a lot. Well mane, Well, you
know that's a good question. Maybe today when they do
some of those drills, we'll kind of see.

out here. So the hope now is that he's available
