Speaker 1 (00:00):
Benjamin al Bright Lane everards a special edition of Broncos
Country tonight and coming up in this hour, your chance,
one lucky listener is gonna win a pair of preseason
tickets to the Broncos Packers game next Friday and a
pair of Broncos Vikings tickets at a power field at
Mahai from the official home of the Broncos, Kawa.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
We'll be giving that cute call coming up this hour,
so we'll be listening.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
All right, you get a cute call here in just
a matter moments, could happen in the next five minutes.
All right, we are until noon. You know, you gotta
be on a high alert on these kinds of things.
Boni's fortunately able to complete the pass we're doing. I
don't This is not move the ball, So this is
we're just still running some drills out here.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's supposed to be kind of a scrimmage like deal,
but some of that got changed after yesterday.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
So their original plan was to do scrimmage and now
that that kind of got wiped after her phone call yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
So I have cracked open the third monster, oh boy,
because I leave it all on the line for the craft.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Is that what you're doing well.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
I just I mean, look, as a as a good teammate,
I do what it takes to make sure that I'm
that I'm up.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Bringing the energy every week better late than ever.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
And and be honest, you know after last week, you
actually owe us one. So the third monster were the
one that picture Like that picture's hilarious, like the differing energy.
It was quite literally a I'm doing this against my will,
like you'll go see it on Susie's Instagram. Everybody else smiling, happy,
(01:37):
loving life. It's football season. I can't believe we get
to do this as a job like that.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
How cool is this?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
And then there's been like I'm being held against my will.
Please send ransom money so I can go home to
my family. That's what you look like.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, it was a ninja's killed my family. I need
money for kung fu lessons, Like.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Look on there, I don't know that now I won't
be able to not see that.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Look I guess, uh so we got are we good
second team here?
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Oh? Oh yeah, we have a second team that's City now,
so that not a lot to report there from the
first team offense.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
It's it's just a relaxed sort of practice here.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
It's not really I mean they're in pads a scrimmage, yeah,
but I mean you could tell, like the energy is
a lot more relaxed.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
There's not popping going on. You know. As far as
that goes. Somebody's asking what color monster?
Speaker 4 (02:24):
You got the strawberry one?
Speaker 3 (02:26):
I got the ultra strawberry. So these are Monster zeros.
I'm doing no sugar, no cards here. Uh, but we
are on Monster three. I'm about a third of the
way through it.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
By the way, what Bona Ben's favorite things is?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
What is it? The dragon fruits?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
The dragon fruit, mango refresher from from Startey's from what
Starby's Starbucks?
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Then I know, yeah, I know Starbucks. Why do you
call Starby's?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
People call it that.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Nobody calls it that.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
They will call it that now.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
They absolutely will not.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Don't try to start something new that that doesn't exist.
I try to fetch happened, Ryan, That is exactly what
you're trying to do. Michael Bandy still catches everything, so
except for that one ball, except well, but that was
over his head. Like if you throw it to Keen
Butler and it goes over his head, well that is
something impressive.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Throw you over if you're a good enough receiver. Nothing's
over your head. That that is that makes no sense
at all. Sixty percent of the time. It works every time.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Idiot.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Uh, let's see here five six six nine zero.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Ben is right.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
That's good correction. No, keep going, it's uh, we were
all thinking it.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I even think Sean was embarrassed because he talked to
sid him up. He talks to him up before the game.
I know that's his job, but he seemed confident in City. Oh.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
He was doing it like he was pulling people aside,
even people he disliked that week to talk up Jared
City Cherisy City.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I I mean, I think you kind of had to though, right,
I mean, in all fairness, what else is he supposed
to do in that moment other than throw all his
support behind the quarterback. They're in the AFC Championship game,
they're hosting the game. I mean it's a beyond gut punch.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
I mean, I mean I.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Got at the moment, I go the other way with it.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
I pull aside the other members of the team, like, look,
I need you guys to step up this week, Like
we gotta get that too, We gotta get him.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
But like going out there in front of the media, Yeah,
it was you know, and then and then that got
the was it the stitty season stuff rolled around you?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
You had changed your Twitter.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
At guitar that was fun. Yeah, yeah, I put City
in a flannel. That was That was a lot of fund.
I was bought into the hype.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I was.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
I was having fun with that. I mean, why not.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
It's like life's too short to like overthink those kinds
of things and be like, well, this could really blow
up in my face.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I think, who cares?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
You know?
Speaker 1 (04:43):
You you you know, are you a fan or not?
Like and I am, so I'm okay with it. You,
on the other hands, sound like you're trying to convince yourself.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
No.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
You like to.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Pretend like you're you're just objective and you're just a
reporter and all those things that making from a place
of objectivity. Yeah, yeah, you that's what everybody perfect. Everybody
says that about you, Especially why I.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Don't even wear the blue and orange at here. I
wear a you know, I wear a black and a
slate so that you know, I don't give any indication
of the black DV.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
That's the reason I do it. This is the definition
of objectives.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
A black deep Beast medium shirt knocking the Raiders colors
out here sixty percent of the time were everytimes and
he likes you to your text on that. Why are
we giving Ben so much love today?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Why are you so jealous? Pre te preteens called Starby's.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Oh yes, yes, Look, they wanted me to appeal to
a younger audience.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
There you go, pre teen, I wanted to They wanted
to bring.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
In the utes on to Ka.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
I want to bring a younger demo ko.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
A pre seen you're a new fans. How I'm roping
them in by calling it Starby's. You are my new
favorite texture. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I might even call you after the show to tell
you how much I appreciate you, especially after all these
Ben is right text.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Look, the people have spoken, Ryan, I don't uh, you know,
I don't claim that kind of credit for myself. I'll
come down off the cross for a minute. I don't
claim that kind of credit for myself.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
But the people who've spoken, all right, Maybe we'll go
back to Ben only saying two or three words sounding
half awake.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I mean, maybe that Ben was maybe a little bit
better than this. You guys wanted this, now you got it? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
You brought the sun yourself? Yes.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
The nickname is Starby's Victor in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
There you go see Victor and Seattle knows and Seattle
the birthplace of Starby's.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
How come with sugar?
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Goes down my spine every time you say it, because it's.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Too close to Arby's and you start thinking about those
sandwiches and you're like, then that goes to your stomach
and you're like, I don't know it is Arby's a sponsor.
They have the meat if that's If that's the.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Case, they're amazing, I know, eating the saucy nugs. Ryan, Yeah,
remember how well that worked out for you.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Every time you did it.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
They're eating them.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
But then but then you just up doubling and tripling
down on it.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Anyways, No, I just it feels like the whole fetch,
you know, tough.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Stop trying to make that work.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Ben and Ryan back together is a piece is a
piece of the world we need back. I will always
remember fondly you guys. Streaming from Studio C in the
spring of twenty twenty, You guys were a bright spot
and a tough.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Time for everybody.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
That means a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeah, that was. That was great. That was a lot
of fun.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
We were streaming from Ryan's couch, Ryan couch and streaming
from Ryan's couch and doing the COVID coverage, doing doing radio.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
That was God, that was. That was a lot of fun. Well,
I mean, somebody tried to convince this they had a
tea cure for remember that.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
No, I don't remember that, like some kind of tea
and it was the cure for COVID or whatever. Yeah,
it was great radio. It was certainly wild.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
I mean at the time, I mean, we weren't allowed
to go back to the studio, so we we had
to do the show from there. But what I do
remember about that, and that was very kind of you
to say that is like how much we needed normalcy,
Like how much sports like when you you don't have
it anymore, like any sports whatsoever, or any relationship to sports,
(08:05):
and it's all just the heaviness of life.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Well, because you and I.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Were talking like is this tone deft to be doing
this show right now kind of thing, And we got
so many texts and emails from people like thanks for
giving us a sense of normalcy and ringing that back.
So that really meant a lot when you guys you know,
reached out and said how much you were appreciating it,
because we were there was there was self doubt from
from my end about you know, whether it was tone
deaf to even be doing it.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, because of.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
All the things that were going on.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
But but you're right, and it ultimately led to some
fascinating things. I mean, we like the Broncos Country Tonight
podcast from that kind of really exploded because now you've
driven it back into the ground. I wrote that thing
into the dirt. Yeah, because you just don't really have
work ethic. But but for talent time, I mean, it
(08:48):
goes without saying, but I'd just say, like like at
the time the podcast, because people just wanted something to
kind of escape from all of it, and you know,
they would would hit us up and ask us to
give I think we just got an interception.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Pop would drop from number Thirtyckem Butler. I think they
were wrestling for that on the ball hit him in
the hands, it went up into the air, and the
defenders Parker robertson safety.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
So but but I'm just saying, like, just for a moment.
It just we were, like Parker robbed him son, we
were in the midst of all of that. And and
I needed the escapism too, like I needed to think
about preparing for shows in a way of talking sports
and finding something else to be excited about and happy about,
(09:33):
and and look forward to when we were eventually going
to get back to these things. And again, you don't
you don't know how much you're going to miss it
until you don't have it. So and it was it
was really ultimately the listeners. So this is also to you, uh,
the reason we got to go do that because we
were actually kind of taking off the air at the
time because again the world was in a pandemic and
there was no sports. Oh, Keen Butler almost had that one.
(09:54):
Oh it was so close. Yes, story of his career anyways,
thank you. It's the title of his book, career.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
I almost had it. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
The texture, I mean, that meant a lot, and it
certainly was something that I'm glad we can look back
on that portion somewhat. Finally, the kids kind of bouncing
around the living room. They got a dog at.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
The time, and the dog liked you a lot. The
dog did like me. The dog had good taste. You're
so weird. Hated me. You would hiss at me every
time I walk by. I think this cat was feral.
Cats can usually judge character.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
I don't think that's the saying. I think it's dogs
judge character. Nice John, Anthony Ryde.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Once you get that, you'd be slamming the monster or whatever. Yeah.
And the face you're making, Oh, the wins, Yeah, it
goes down so smooth. Yeah. I can hear my heartbeat
right now.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
By the way that passed the keen Butler, that that
was out in front.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
It wasn't as accurate as it could have been. Oh
my god. Now you're gonna blame the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
If there's anybody in the tank for a player more
than Ryan Edwards is for Hakeem Butler. I've never seen it,
and I wanted them to build a statue of Drew
Lock that was half centaur out front.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Somebody says it sounds like an interception Bills fans, we're
talking about. That's great, cal Lee Man, well done. I
love our Texters man strung.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
They get it. Yeah, good good job, Anthony.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Wait to capture that grimacing facial expression as I started
on this third monster.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Why do you make so many weird faces? Let's have
a weird face. I have a whole like catalog of
weird bin faces in my phone. That's what he uses
the screens for.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Like when I call, it's like the picture of me
when I got somehow railroaded to sitting in the middle
seat on that airline flight.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Between you and b K even made that face? How
did that happen? Yeah? I know, because I was like,
how did I get stuck? How did this happen?
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I'm usually savvier than to allow myself to be put
in this position.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, m BK kind of got the window seat and
I naturally should be in the aisle.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Like that makes sense for everybody. So a little weavil.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
All right, we're gonna do a little special teams and
live here from Broncos Park Power by Comma Spirit, Ryan Everge,
Benjamin all Bright. Your chance to win some Broncos tickets
coming up here in just a little bit. So today's practices,
Like I said, you're right, even though we're in pads,
you know, we've had some some pretty intense practices over
the course of the week. This is uh, this has
(12:19):
felt pretty light and maybe to a point you made
earlier in the show. Ben hates to give you credit
for things, but the point you made earlier in the show,
maybe that is part of the response to some of
the injuries you've been dealing with.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Yeah, I think you know, I in any end, I
think it's it's actually gonna be like a good thing here.
You know, you get an extended look at some other
guys and and get a chance to do that. But
today is I mean, this is very obviously, very relaxed
for a padded practice day.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Text line, Ryan, what I noticed about the picture of
you guys at camp last week was Ben's legs looked
like they couldn't support.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
A package of saltines.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I I did skip leg day for my whole life
here for forty five years.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
I well, so that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Like when I had the weight, because I I've lost
like forty pounds. I when I had the weight, I
looked like a potato with toothpicks sticking out of it.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Now I just look like a pasty ironing board.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Is that just tiger love?
Speaker 1 (13:20):
I love all the different like ways you try to
justify the toothpicks that are your ankles.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I mean there are they are paper thin.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Yeah, it's weird. It's weird. I mean, LOOKU mana runner's legs.
That's what they're called. That's the real thing. I feel
like you should get implants.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
There's no chance happening. We should get an endorsement. No,
I am not getting leg implants. Ankle implants. No, absolutely,
not to beef those up a little bit. No. And
then you who will never wear shorts.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Yeah, but that's that's it is ninety.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Seven point three degrees and you're in long pants.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Don't turn this around.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
I'm saying, easy there, Senior Pantalonis.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
I'm saying for you, like I could hear the adorsement.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I've always been self conscious of my ankles, and people said,
I have not been self.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Conscious of my ankles. They're just thin.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Like, what am I gonna do about it? A package
of saltines? Been self conscious about the thinning hair?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah, we all are.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
And you know, I'm like, I trying to book a
flight to Turkey as we speak. I gotta reside the turf.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
But it's football season, man, you gotta be here. How's that?
How's that third monster treating you? I mean I'm a
little full right now.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
You know, we've didn't here the whole time, so I'm
kind of sloshy drinking.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
It is not the problem.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
It's the the capacity to hold liquid at this point
that is becoming the problem.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Yeah, you just gotta got lock in.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Oh oh my god, I forgot.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Wait, I forgot.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
We had all those sound effects and like the horrible
noises that I make.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Grant has like a compilation, Yeah he does. Yeah, Grant
has a compilation of like those kind of noises and yeah,
Anthony used to play the maniacal laugh. Yeah, ended up
kicking that. John Jonas, oh no brand, Yeah, okay, sorry,
thank you got Johnas.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
I mean, you know more you can do, and then
you got you got cross shout there holding actually kind
of dig this. I mean you're at a point in
training camp where it's just for fun.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Now.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
By the way he's lining up, it looks like the
fifteen yard line here like that. That's what they're snapping
at the fifteen, So he's he's actually kicking at the
twenty two.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Look at this dang rightwn Main Street. Look at that
law leg drive there. I bet his ankles are proportionate.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
I love you yourself conscious. You just don't want to
admit it. I don't know what you're talking about. I
could never.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
I do love like I do love our boss's joyous
expression as I'm cracking open this thing, like as I'm
putting my health on.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
The line, He's like, this is great for the brand.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
It is great for the brand.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Somebody says, I bet his ankles are better than Bo's.
Oh oh was that a bow shot there?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Yeah, but Bow's ankles are fine surgically repair In fact,
both said he's even better than he was.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Well there you go. Yeah, he said that after the
second surgery.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Are are from what you understand, leaf sourcing it otherwise.
Is there legitimate concern out there about Bow's ankles.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, I mean, you know, as they say, career archetype thing.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Uh, just because there's been you know, three instances, but
four well you know, three prior instances plus and we
don't know what the recovery is on this one yet.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
So yes, that that that is a thing.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
But uh, internally here it's not like you know, they're
like we're we're we're pursued, we're you know, proceeding as
if this is just you know, uh a one off
and going from there.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
So man another one and he is and then they're
moving him back five yards each time. He just keeps
and and by the way, Brandon Jones is making this
with room to spare.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, he was like he's he's actually like right down
the middle and he's got you know, ten fifteen yards
of spare here.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
So and by the way, leave it to VJ to
go with the defensive player, you know, of course. I
mean Vj's out here running practice. I think gonna have
an offensive player.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Look at look at him. See you can't help himself.
It's all offense.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
I'm gonna have an offensive player. Show up anybody, all right,
So it looks like we're gonna get maybe a red
zone period. I haven't had a lot of red zone periods.
Like early early in camp we did. The acclamation period
was all red zone. Yeah, and then in early in
camp we had some red zone. But I gotta be honest,
I hadn't thought about it much. But we have not
(17:34):
had a lot of red zone periods out here during camp.
But yeah, we're back out there in red zone here
with the first team offense and defense. Yeah, Brandon Jones
just sunk a forty one yarder.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Three or four on his field goal attempts on the day.
Sounds pretty good, not bad for for Brandon Chills.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
All let you go. You got get cat holding like that?
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yeah? Is that right?
Speaker 3 (17:55):
You think Riley got defensive holding in a game?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Two hands?
Speaker 1 (18:00):
I thought you're Nick, Yeah, two fistfuls of jersey. I
thought you're playing the Nick Ferguson role. Nick would say
that that was good. I was just clean defense right there. Actually, Ryan, uh,
you know, yeah, the Nick Ferguson role would be like, actually,
Riley Moss was interfering with him, or the other way around.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
He was interfering with Do you need a monster? I might,
but we're about halfway done with this one.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
All right, second down here, little red zone Modex kind
of had to throw that off his back foot.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Man.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Then, tell you what, even even playing backups on the
defensive line, they get there in a hurry.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Oh my god, again, that.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Was That is one thing I would say, if you're
looking for a consistent theme that you know, kind of
raised the eyebrow a little bit, is that the defensive
lines have dominated all of the offensive lines, you know,
as far as the stuff goes, Which of course you
expect when you got a you know, a Zach Allen
and and all that kind of stuff. Although they're you know,
got a veteran rest day. I see my my chauffeur
(18:56):
for pizza has arrived.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah, Ross Kamensky coming out here.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Check out practice another text here, Ben is a shade
is shaved head away from being cast as Grew in
the live action despicableed me moving.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Actually, I tell you what, because because Grew is just
built a little thick, what I really look like when
I shaved my head is Gollum from Lord of the
Rings Like.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
It is not a good look. I need hair.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
It is not a good look. Oh, come on, r J.
Bhe extent of pressure though. I had to dump it
off there to RJ and you couldn't couldn't secure it.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Not uh not great, Bob.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Not the greatest day for the offense and the the
you you all can tell from the dejected, slash crestfallen
tone of one Ryan Pumpkins Spice Latte Edwards.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
By the way, we're only two weeks away from that. Yeah,
I know, I hate life. Why why do you have
to hate other people's happiness? There's nothing Pumpkin about Pumpkin Spy.
We've been through this, We've already done this bit. But
it makes me happy.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Why doesn't Why does that have to make you miserable
because it makes you happy.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
I don't know if I'm Mathow or Lemon, but we
all know the dynamic here.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
You're definitely Mathow.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
That probably am Yeah, yeah, you make that face. That's
a thirty years from now. They even have the jowls.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Ye're just you have the math Ow face, right, It's
a wet blanket face.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Yeah, that's fair. I'll go with it.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Are we I mean concerned about the offense? Yeah, I
mean I don't know, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
And and honestly, there's not a takeaway from this practice.
This is very obviously, very relaxed for a pad's day.
This is you know, I mean, you get Rizzy and
and fans out here running the show, and this is
this is there's no there's no takeaways here today as
far as that goes. Okay, yeah, I mean I'm trying
to veteran rest days all over the place. This is
you know, you know, this is a Saturday. Hopefully the
(20:44):
fans get a.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Little show here with a couple of touchdowns. We're about
five out second down.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I don't know if they're being like completely accurate with
the marketing because the vicinity, Yeah, we're just trying to
like estimate.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Here, get through the script and do all that.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
So for Davis, you know, who's probably running this thing,
I wonder, you know, a little bit of I want
to show something.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Oh man, nice PBu there. Who was that?
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (21:12):
No?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I think that was all Oh my god, yeah that
is it.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yeah, yeah, somebody has photoshopped me with a bald head
and it is horrible.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Oh that's not great. By the way, it's an.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Injury plagued day around the league. Today's eight Flowers Luther
Burden both went down today. Josh Downs went down today.
So injury injury plagued uh day around the league for
for wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
All right, so terrible, look at that. Horrible. That is
not a good. Look. That is really not good, dude.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
I'm trying to tell you like that. You know, I
wouldn't say gollum though I've had my head shaved for
the military before. I know what I looked like.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
That was a heave. But oh, did Pat Bryant get
that much good? Got it.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
He got cat Pat.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Bryant, and I want to re cycle by PB thirteen line,
but whatever, what a catch by Pat bry double coverage,
both kind of side arm. Heaved it up there for
the corner and he toe tapped that got the feet
down and made the kid.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
What a catch by.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Pat Bryant that had a completion probability in the single digits.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
I gotta be honest, like Bowt Nicks was falling away.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
It was like an It was like an underhanded submarine,
like Dennis Eckersley style throw.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Throwing into the corner down zone like like no chance,
double coverage.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Yeah, then, and Pat Bryant was just like mine.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
That was one of those where the defense did everything
right except for somehow get it away from Pat Bryant.
But he said that yesterday. He said, when the balls
up in the air, it's my ball. Well he plays
like it.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Clifford Franklin, that you know, I mean, that's the football's
a one man calls for Pat bryan.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
He's the only one catching it. He's the only one
coming down with it. That was outstanding.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
That hey, that that is I mean, I know Jaylen
Waddle's your wide receiver one, but I'd say by next year,
Pat Bryan, it's gonna be a he's gonna be a force.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Out Today, I was like trying to figure that out there.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
It's kind of a goal line.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Yeah, and you know we haven't seen that's another weird thing.
You have the pads on today. You haven't seen a
lot of running, you know, yeah, like yesterday.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
They That's I'm saying, it's just so this is a
this is a weird sort of relaxed practice. But I
think they're doing some some crowd work right there, getting
the fans, you know, getting the fans a couple of
touchdowns so they can cheer.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Some somebody asked me if Pumpkin Spice aft starts after
the labor r Nope, Nope, it's in August.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Pumpkin Spice season should start after Halloween and it should
end on December thirty.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
First.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
I may not completely opposed to that, but I'm okay
with it starting when it does, because then I get
excited about fall.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
It's like the tip into fall. You know, you're into August.
We got football for that. Well, I know, but I'm saying,
like you got football, you got pumpkins spices.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Wow. I just looked at Ben's photo.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Man, I've seen toothpicks that look more sturdy than men's legs.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Runners. That's what I'm calling it. Let me say whatever
you want, My mama says.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
All right, we gotta take a quick break. We're live
from Broncos Park powered by Commas Spirit. Final segment coming up,
and just on the other side, your opportunity to win
a pair of preseason tickets to the Broncos Packers game
and a pair of Broncos Vikings tickets.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
On Powerfield of Mile High.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
So the next two preseason games, not this Friday beause
they're obviously in Atlanta, but the two Fridays after that,
they're both home games, your home for the Broncos Ka.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
It's the only place you can win these.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
One listener is gonna win both pairs of tickets, and
we'll give that way. Coming up in just a matter
of moments, as you're listening to our coverage of Day
eight of Broncos Training Camp Live for Broncos Park powered
by Commic Spirit on Kway.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
Away at Broncos Training Camp, there we go. This is
Broncos Country Tonight Camp Edition on the official home of
Broncos Away.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
All right final segment here live for Broncos Park Power
by Common Spirit, Bryan Edwards, Benjamin Old bry a special
edition of Broncos Country Tonight. Jerse did him getting a
couple of touchdown passes, one of Michael Bandy won to
a little Jordan Humphrey. Nice to see Jonah Coleman had
a couple of nice rushing touchdown was receiving one of
the I believe as well. So the red zone period
burying a little more fruit for the Broncos offense.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Who's you know, kind of a I always say a
rough day, but just not a very consistent day that passed.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Little Jordan has had some zip on it. You know
the news lately they said we're running out of missiles.
But Dan, I don't know with that one.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Are you so weird?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
But again, the play of practice, no question is Pat
Bryant and sort of that circus play with double coverage
joining us right now. Ross Komenski who decided to grace
this out here with this president?
Speaker 4 (25:50):
What's up? Man? Well, I get to come out here
to training camp a few times, but now that I'm
on the Early Show, I never get to see them
do anything. And so when I get to come out
and hang on with you guys on Saturda for a
little while, actually see the practice. So which one is
the player that he wants to statue of thirty thirty?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Okay, yeah, you can say he's just like he's a
big guy for his position, kind of bulky guy for
his position.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
There a little bit of like an Adonis thing going
on for you.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah, Ryan, so salivating.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
It's weird, MA get weird?
Speaker 2 (26:19):
You know yet you know a statue made out of
cheese and that you know, I don't know. He was
music video of the back.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
He was a draft crush. He was a guy that
I wanted the Broncos to draft.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
He went on Day two and then then he ended
up not really working out in the NFL, went to
the UFL. Was the offensive player of the Year last
year and he averages twenty two yards per catch. I mean,
he's a monster, So it'd be it'd be cool if
it worked out. Plus, you know, again, fether of my
cap because he was one of my guys.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
So is it is it overly optimistic for me to
think that, you know, we've had really special defenses for
year after year after year, and in camp year after
year after year, the offense starts slow and then you
talk about him maybe in the last week you camp,
but not this year. So is it okay for me
to be optimistic about our offense? Absolutely, yeah, I would
say so.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
I mean I I've been more of an optimistic leaning
person anyways.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
Man, of course, yeah, y y yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
But but the point, yeah, i'd say so. I'd say
the additional Jaalen Waddle. I mean, you're you're seeing the
offense for what it's worth operating without Marvin Mims. Cortland
Sutton is back, but without Marvin Mims, without uh, some
players in the offensive line were getting vet rest days,
and of course without Jalen Wattle. So yeah, naturally it's
gonna you want to see what that ultimately looks like.
(27:30):
But to see guys like Pat Bryant really jump out
and and and be great, uh, other players like Jonah Coleman,
the rookie, you know, having some moments.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
There with the first team offense.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I mean that those are reasons because you have a
lot of depth, and so you have a belief that, hey,
if you do lose a couple of guys, you'll be
able to sustain it.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
I apologize for my rookie questions. Like I always say,
you guys have forgotten more about football than I will
ever know.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
You're all good. Just make sure you grab our pads
and take those with water.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
Boy, Is it too early or way too early or
way freaking too early to have a sense of what
play calling is going to be like this year with
the new regime a little bit?
Speaker 3 (28:08):
I mean, we know what the base offense is, you know,
and that's that's sort of the Sean Payton thing. But
Davis Webbs, it looks like he's updating things. I mean,
you're seeing a lot more motion pre snap, You're seeing
him play a little bit more tempo.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Both things that they needed to do.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
So I think he's he's sort of updating the archaic,
you know, portions of the offense.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
And then we're seeing it having Ingram a lot more involved.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
I'm kind of hoping that that's that's a thing that
continues into these games, because we saw him involved a
little bit last year and then all of a sudden
in the games it just wasn't there.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
So I'm kind of hoping that that's a thing that
they continue is here.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
So I was gonna ask that was my next question
for you with Ingram is do you think if they
try to make him a bigger part of the game.
Like last year he didn't have very many opportunities, but
he also didn't seem to make the most of them
when he had him. Do you think he's got the
skill set to make the most of more opportunities if
he gets them.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Sure, I mean we see it out here, you know,
we see it out here in practice.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
I mean he's he's a little too fast for linebackers,
a little too big for corners, And if you can
find the way to, you know, continue to facilitate those mismatches,
you could probably have something there.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
And the point of what the league has become is
finding the mismatches. Certainly, I mean it's kind of all
been that. It's always been that way, but especially now,
and that's why you see so many receiving tight ends.
And what that can do to impact defense is if
you can get guys with that kind of speed on
players that aren't used to playing that kind of speed,
well that's just a natural mismatch.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
But once again, you know, with tight oh my.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
God, come on now, look at that guy you phone
and you didn't it didn't even happen.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I know if I don't see it didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
You saw it the right.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
It's just so refreshing to do a show with somebody
that's actually watching practice.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
It's allowed to have a man crush. It's fine, yeah,
you know versus man problem who I think the monsters
have gone to his head a little bit too. Yeah,
number three right, two and a half down so far
to two point five and we're on the third one,
and you guys are gonna share a pizza after this.
He's gonna do something. Well, I heard something I was
listening to you guys earlier, and and he was talking
about pizza with hot honey on it, and I know
(30:10):
the best one, and it's right near where he lives,
so he can go straight home to the video games.
So it's perfect. It's perfect. And I haven't eaten yet.
So there you go. There we are.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Yeah, you're you're gonna to take care of that. You
might even have to wheel him out of here, I
don't know.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Well, we'll get extra cheese to kind of bulk up
his ankles a little bit.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Nice extra grease to soak up there. These ankles are
getting bulked like the bolt comes here.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
By the way, I don't know you, but you're looking
pretty spell lost a little bit of weight, you know,
try to tighten it up a little bit.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
What what are they doing now?
Speaker 2 (30:44):
That is that it period?
Speaker 4 (30:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (30:47):
We might get another special teams period in here. So
the time has been out here. What what are some
things that that popped out to you?
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Ross? Well, like I said, I need to see a
lot during my time. I'm just I'm obviously concerned about
the Jalen Waddle injury. I don't know what it is.
As a guy who tried to play wide receiver in college,
that's the position that I love looking at the most,
and I always you know, when when Waddle was at Miami,
(31:15):
I just enjoyed watching him so much. Even though I
don't give a rats behind about the Dolphins, but that
guy is just an incredible player. I'm so excited he's here,
and I hope he's Okay.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
I don't even know if I want to read this text,
but I feel like if I don't read this text,
Dave will find out about it somehow that I didn't
read this text. Okay, Ross, do you have any thoughts
on Ryan having communistic tendencies in our great capitalistic nation.
Dave oftentimes says that though I am not a communist,
he thinks I have communistic.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Well, well, I mean you are a vegetarian. Yeah, that's true.
So that way our vegetarians and communists is there, Like
there's some significant Venn diagram, Okay, going.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
On in a position as hard as the hammer and
as sharp as the sickle that crosses it.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
I'll just say we're a big tent at the moment,
and weren't a small tent, but Kaway and Colorado and
America are a big tent. And there's even room for you, Okay, comrade,
a comrade, thanks. I have found I haven't talked a
lot of politics and stuff with Ryan but a little,
and I find him quite reasonable most of the time.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
We don't.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
We don't perfectly agree on everything, but he's a very thunderfan. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
And then there's a.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Drop of me saying I'm not a communist, Zach.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
We're not playing that.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Just saying it also exists out there as Yeah, we
we have we have off Mike.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
I like you talked about and we'll say sometimes about
your view of a football, like I would say it's
not that.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
I don't have opinions on politics. I certainly do.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
But what I tend to focus my attention and energy on,
especially as a professional, is this. That's why you're much
less bitter person than I am, or than this guy is.
You think about politics less, which is better for your
mental health. It does itselves red coats.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
Wow, I forgot about that one. Wow, I forgot about
that one.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
You know who didn't forget about that one?
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Nice?
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Very good, it's good.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
But anyways, and obviously you you know, you cover all
that you know really well. I love what you guys
are doing on the morning show. It's always really really
entertaining with you and Gina and and again I like
that you try to to welcome in a lot of
you know, topics that people can can kind of absorb
from all walks of life.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
Yeah, that's that's the goal. We want everybody listening.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
But you guys have like a natural chemistry from the
get go. Its like a Molder Scully kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
You got to give that to Tepper, right Temper and
whoever was talking about all that stuff before putting the
show together. You know, they picked the team. You know,
he got to pick the scout you got to give
credit to the scout when it's due, and you.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Know it doesn't hurt to butter him up when's standing
right behind you. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Now, I have a lot of fun with Gina. Is
a lot of fun and she's a good sport. Like
the way you guys make fun of each other and
then you still hang out and that's it's like brothers.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
You know, you got to you know, you gotta have
the banter and the roast stuff and all that. It's
you know, it's it's fun. He's being serious.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
I'm not well, Ryan, was that you?
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yes, that was you talking about coach Peyton making a
bee line for you? Yes, I actually you were in
studio they were talking about that, right, I actually uh
texted Logan about that when you guys were talking about it.
There are people you don't meet, very many of them
who are naturally intimidating, yes, even if they're not necessarily
(34:46):
physically huge, and I do. I've never spoken to Sean Payton,
and I'm not entirely sure I want to. It's so intense.
Like I think Logan is a certain degree of intimidating
at least to people, but Peyton is like so I
was kind of feeling your I appreciate your spilkus there
when when he was walking at you. I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Yeah, And he teased me about it, like I don't
know why, and even the text line was like why
would why would that be upsetting? It's like it's just
I just sat down and he just looked right at
me and then full pace. But you my direction, like
it's never happened before, So like if it happens all
the time, then that would be oh well, hey, listen,
he he tends to walk like that all the time
(35:29):
towards me. Never happened before. So in that moment, I'm
thinking what did I do wrong?
Speaker 3 (35:34):
But you also sort of have that nervous disposition like
what am I doing wrong? Whereas I do not have
that filter at all.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
That's actually so you're like, what am I doing right?
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Too?
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Well?
Speaker 2 (35:42):
I mean, like you know, I ask forgive. It's not
provision right, all right?
Speaker 1 (35:45):
So now we are doing some move the ball one
twenty two ball in the thirty eight down four, Bonix.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Jumped it down to uh, I can't see the number there,
that's how hardy.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Yeah, we can't really do play by play, but we'll
just try to give you a little bit.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Of any other bozos were doing it.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Your chance to win tickets here in just a matter
of moments. I just want to give you a little
bit of what's going on with the first team offense.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
RJ did get out of bound, so he's able to
stop the clock.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
D Lion is giving the lot all they want today.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
By the way, is that what happens when clowns are
calling the Denver Broncos they're Bozo's.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead and say, yes, that's good,
more that we need more of that, absolutely like a
dad joke, and yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Yeah, I know he can do jokes for five English
majors across the country. Yeah, I can do one dad joke.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
That's what I'm saying. Let's you know this is my niche.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
All right, So now we're looking at a third down niche.
How much we got left here? Oh yeah, all right?
Third down here, third down in four fourteen minutes for
the Broncos first.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Team offense, US first team defense. Fifty six seconds left.
I tell you what, they were nails yesterday in this drill.
So when bo gets it out fast, look at Pat Bryant's.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
That guy.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
He hat so money igges you almost like run out
of things to say about how important he is to
this offense.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Especially if some of these other guys might be injured
or injury prone. He's gonna get even more and more
chances he will. Yeah, and he you know, his role
grew yet last year.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
I mean, the reason why they moved on from Devon
Valley they were able to trade Devon Valley because Pat.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Bryant came into camp and was undeniable.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
And so at that point with the jump that Troy
Franklin had seemingly made, Pat Bryant as a rookie coming
into camp and just being great right away.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
You know, when bo releases it early, oh my, oh,
couldn't hang on.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
But when Bou releases it early, like when he is
in rhythm, he's just a different player. When he has
to think for just a moment, you see his feet
start to kind of look jittery, and then he you
just don't know what he's gonna do next. And sometimes
it can lead to some great things, but I'd say
more often than not, you know you're you're thinking, like.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Okay, well, this play is basically dead.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
We let's just try to survive this one and move on,
all right, as promised, you guys have been listening to us, and.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
We're going on for another thirteen minutes. We'll give you
the update.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
But right now, caller number ten, three oh three seven
one three eighty five eighty five. Caller number ten, three
oh three seven one three eighty five eighty five, you're
gonna win a pair of preseason tickets to the Broncos
Packers Friday, August twenty first game and a pair of
Broncos Vikings August twenty eighth game at in Power Field at.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Mile High from the official home of the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Kaway Caller ten three oh three seven one three eighty
five eighty five. We're sending one lucky listener to both games.
Good luck, and I hope you enjoy him. I mean,
certainly the preseason, Uh, with this team, there's there's quite
a bit to learn. So now we're looking at thirty
one seconds again, down by four, they're at.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
The thirty four yard line plus thirty four here.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
For the offense. Probably need a chunk play here. You're
not desperate yet, but it's it's it's it's getting there.
Second and long.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
So have you guys seen anything that would make you
think there might be real competition for number two quarterback?
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Talks about that a little bit earlier.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
And while Sean is denying that that's a thing, I
mean it, our eyes are telling us something different.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Here.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Was that Tillman with the pressure?
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
Yeah, Tillman is so good. He's been having a great camp.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
He gets Ah, he's lost in the wash because you
got Q and Joan Ellis and you know, in that
backup wash a little bit. But he's been productive when
he's been given the opportunity. You know, we talked about
people trade. You would probably have somebody from that room
that you'd showcase for trade, except for you've got, you know,
Cooper's looming suspension and Benito a little danged up, so
it's probably want to keep those bodies way.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Michael Lis says, Mikayla Schiffern is here. So got all
sorts of stars here, he said, somebody from Love Island one.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Of those real He shows you there's a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Been per sources, Okay, all right, per Per Reality TV sources.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
Third and ten, did we get it off sides? Bo
was clapping or maybe he was clapping because we got
a false start. It's not great. So now you're third
and forever twenty eight, twenty eight or twenty six seconds,
I can't really see. And uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
So yesterday in this drill, offense, march right down the field,
score a touchdown, plenty of time to spare. We're looking
at a bit of a last gasp, but of course
you're going to go for a fourth down since we're
in the fourth quarter on this. I love these drills.
I'll tell you Ross, this is my favorite drill that.
Oh my good Troy Franklin put some respect on that
man's name and on to it. Put some respect on
(40:45):
his name.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
Ben Catch goes to the ground.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
I'm not going to call it the fall of Troy
because it was deliberate. I haven't even broken out an
after double day joke yet.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
So I you know, wow, hey man, this is why
I don't.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
Think they'll trade Troy Franklin, like a multiple reasons, whether
it's it's because of the health stuff of the rest
of the receiver room. But they believe in this guy,
and he's got the connection in organ I mean, there's
something to that.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
They believe in him.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Yes, they do because they went out and traded a
first and a third round to go get a guy
to replace him.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
Text line Pat Bryan is such a monster that Ben
wants to chuck him.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Well done, sir, Well done, sir. Yes, this is the
content we're here for. That's what this show is all about.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
How many wide receivers you think they'll keep on the
final roster? Five?
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Now you'll have two or three of the practice squad
as well that they'll rotate call up, you know, but
they'll keep five or six on the on the fifty
three incomplete.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Now we're only going to third and ten because they
had to spike the ball to stop the clock.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
So third and ten with six seconds seconds.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
And they're fifteen yards out, you ever take sixteen?
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Maybe they are at the yeah, fifteen fifteen yard line.
All right, it's a big moment here for all the marble.
Last year, Ross felt pretty good about the Broncos in
these situations.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
They came up clutch many times. It was an insane year,
it was. It was really in.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Everything about that year was insane. Yeah, and that's that's
why you just want the offense. Like Ben's been teasing
me all throughout the course, of the show. But that's
why you need the offense to kind of go to
that next level.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
Oh you got it? Did he get it?
Speaker 2 (42:26):
Got it?
Speaker 4 (42:27):
No?
Speaker 2 (42:28):
I dropped it sudden.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
Oh yeah, he had it on the left pylon, front
pylon there, couldn't hang out on So.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
Fourth and ten with one second left?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
All right, Well this is uh there, and that the
clock operators being generous for the offense, right, yeah, second
left after that should should it was not time.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Left after that play.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
That should have been significantly more than six seconds have
operated there.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Yeah, I mean you had to throw it quick, but
even then, al right, so.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
You got three guys with their feet on the line here,
Pat Brian in there.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
I think I saw Franklin on the other side. You
get what trips left?
Speaker 3 (43:14):
All right?
Speaker 2 (43:14):
Oh he false started there and they didn't call that.
They didn't call it. Oh pick oh dropped the interception
it was I mean, threw it a quadruple coverage there.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Coverage there wasn't, I mean there was any all right.
So the offense falls short of scoring, but there are
some nice moments in there. If the Pat Ryan catch
to get a first down, big Troy Franklin catch.
Speaker 4 (43:35):
On third and long, third and fifteen. Yep, so yeah,
some positives, but you know, ultimately you just lost the game.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Monster update. I did finish the third monster. So for
those of you who are wondering, there you go.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
How you feeling fantastic? You used to eat a lot
of pineapple at these things, which seems a little healthier
than three monsters.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Yeah, I just didn't have any. I didn't have any
pineapple sit around the house to do that, right. I
used to bring a big bowl. YEA, love me some pineapple.
It's delicious, good, good good. Uh, it's an amazing fruit.
Speaker 4 (44:02):
Good callback. Yeah, eat a giant thing of pineapple in
front of us.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
I've been on Kiwis lately.
Speaker 4 (44:10):
Yeah, that's a it's a good one for you. God
him and see good pretty digestive health.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
That's what the listing audience is tuned in for my
fruit consumption habits.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
I mean, you've had weirder conversations in the air today,
that's fair, all right. So now we have some second
team Actually, well, so this is interesting. Yesterday Sticky got
a chance to go move the ball and Ellinger did not.
(44:38):
Today it's Ellinger that gets a chance to go move
the ball and not stitty, probably because I'm guessing, you know,
because they only usually do two of these.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
So they got the first team in offense, first team defense.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
Now you're going second team, but you're learning Sam Ellinger
run the second team in similar move the ball and
a nice catch there by camera Ross, but still short gains.
Speaker 4 (45:02):
So now we're looking at about third and three. It's
about one oh four. Oh that they ruled him in bounds. Yuck.
That's brutal.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
You throw, you throw to the boundary and you stay
in bounce. Come on camera Ross, Yeah, get out. Uh oh,
there you go. Katsus Okay, Katsus gets the first down,
gets out of bounced.
Speaker 4 (45:24):
It was like third or fourth of the option.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
I thought he was kind of throwing that away, to
be honest, like the way that looked initially is I
was like, I don't even know what he because he
had he was just surrounded by orange.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
All right.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
So now we're looking at fifty one seconds left first
and ten on the plus thirty six.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
For Allnger. Allinger has had a good camp, Ben.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Yes he has.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Uh And like I said, he's positioning himself for that
that backup qb roll. I think pushing, pushing, stead of
still it was a high dollar guy at eight million.
Speaker 4 (45:56):
It's uh.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
That eighty six and six.
Speaker 4 (46:04):
Okay, uh yeah, eighty six is man Jack?
Speaker 2 (46:09):
What a name, Joseph man Jack? What a name goes
down with the red Murdock name is that?
Speaker 1 (46:17):
That was Parker Gabriel that said any left, Okay? It
was arik yoh yeah, okay, Yeah. Unfortunately from the view
of the tents sometimes it's tough.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
To tell what's going on in some of these moments
of practice.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Got just a few months left here before we're done,
and practice will wrap around noon anyways, so you'll you
won't miss very much. Appreciate you guys wrong with us
though certainly, oh man free runner did dirt dart that one?
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeap?
Speaker 1 (46:43):
That was Reecee Taylor. Reecee Taylor was a free runner. Yeah,
you know vanced Joseph isn't uh, he's.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
He's going to win the day today. Yeah. They knew
what was going on, all right. So now second or
it should be third, No, I guess you got out
of ount.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
So the second in seven, that's weird, all right because
that was an incompletion. I'm not exactly Yeah, they're not
being oh second seven because we're second goal.
Speaker 4 (47:09):
That's why. Okay, sorry leaving the scoreboard.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
All right, So yeah, final moments here as we're watching
a little move the ball here with the second team, Ross.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
Kaminski, Ben Wallbright, Ryan Edwards. I love this stuff. Yeah, man,
this is fun. That was definitely.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
Yeah, you're not gonna a lot of pressure, all right,
So now we're going the third and seven.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
Yeah, the D line is and.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
The pressure has definitely got better of the offensive line
on all units today.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Yes, I completely agree with that, and I'd say that's
that's a pretty generic takeaway from most of camp. Honestly,
the D line is really kind of beating up the
offensive line a bit in the trenches. And that's not
a panic. I feel like we get to this point
every year in camp where we're talking about the D
line and how dominant they are on the trenches. It's
like offensive salt line is still gonna be very good.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
I don't think there's anything to panic about.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Just cats us in an interesting spot here. Watch for
the bender route.
Speaker 3 (48:05):
Okay, see what he's got him and man outside of
man Jack there sort of stacked there. Yep, yep, there's
the better they're still going to the corner though, so
we're trying to get there. We're trying to get cant
Us on that whip row up by using man jack
to set the natural pick and then have him come
back out but eat the over three to the corner.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
So well, you didn't have time. There's not a free
runner at him.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
How many free runners you're gonna throw at this guy?
Speaker 3 (48:29):
Well, I mean it's fast, Jose. If you want the
defense to to win the day, you know, you're looking
for a looking for your guys. You know, as you're
as you're out there running the show, you want to
get your guys in a good position, especially because a
head coach is notoriously offensive minded.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Yeah, all right, fourth down, fourth and seven here for
the second team offens.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
This will be probably the final play of practice today.
See what, see what Ellen You're could do? Could this
win the backup job for him?
Speaker 4 (48:56):
Not really, because you've got to play the preseason that's
gonna matter most for him.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
And he sacked yep, yep, yep, And that's the end
of priv There we go there all right in the books.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
That does it for us? Thanks for having me, Yeah, man,
it was great, It was great. To swing by.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Glad we got a chance to ask you about Dave
saying I'm a communist, and then you were able to
you know, refuse some of that.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
I needed that.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Maybe the listener, I'm not sure you refuted it so
much as he said he was accepting of it.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Thank you to Anthony Rodriguez, tremendous work as always with
our social media, putting up a lot of really cool
stuff today and out throughout camp. Thank you Dave Tepper
out here engineering for us, and for of course doing
a wonderful job at Kaway.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
Running our programs.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Thank you to Zack Seeger, Shannon Scott back in the
studio and you know, certainly appreciate all their work running
the board out there. Practice is wrapped here on day eight.
Final thoughts really quick here Ben on what we saw.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
Out here, you know, is a relaxed pads day.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
The defense got the better of the offense, specifically the
defensive line getting the better of the old line out there,
and you know, look forward to seeing the next pad
of practice.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
I think the intensity will ratchet backup where Sean Payton's back.
Speaker 4 (50:10):
They're off tomorrow, back at practice on Monday. Of course,
our show's.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
Back on Monday as well, so for Benjamin all Bright
Ryan Everts. Also thank you Susie Warden for sling by
earlier and Ross Naminski we'll talk to you on Monday.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
Have a great weekend everybody. Thanks for listening to Kaaway
