a play designer, I think he's a genius. I think
he's a good coach. I think he gets a little

overrated on some things sometimes. And that's that's really where
that is. The rest of it's me hamming it up
for entertainment, you know, because it's it's sort of enjoyable
for me to and troll Ryan a little bit, especially
at the end of the show and he's on his
way home. I know, he's white knucklet on the way home,
mad at me. He's still shaking his head. I know
it's right now. He's like that my know. And so
you know that's Ryan and I have that uh brothers

from another mother relationship. We've had that the whole time.
And and you know, he and I like to uh

have way to this, but the Buffalo Bills have rolled
out their new stadium to absolutely disastrous reviews. I mean

just abject disaster. In fact, they had to put a
statement out a little bit ago. This says thank you
to Bills Mafia for setting into a tennanis record. We're
fifty thousand fans. Saturday's practice is a great opportunity to
test the new stadium. We're currently addressing internal and external
feedback regarding the facilities operation following the first event. Will
utilize the next six weeks to refine any details as

we prepare for the home opener on Thursday, September seventeen.
Now what those issues are is that they've heard from
less than one percent of PSL holders regarding the stadium,
but a lot of them are complaining about sightline issues.
There are some photos that are circulating showing view from
seats that are not for sale for football events. The
team is planning on holding a variety of events at

the stadium, concerts, things like that, but the site lines
from a football perspective on some of these seats are horrible.
Like there's columns in the way, staircases blocking you know,
forty percent of the view from some of these seats.
The team announced that fifty one thousand fans were in
attense for the practice capacities a little over sixty thousand
and they've got two preseason games at the venue, so

they can they can take a look at at that.
For the record, the Broncos are not using the same
design firm for their stadium that Buffalo did. Now there
are concepts of what Buffalo did that they want to
incorporate with the roof and that sort of thing, but
I will say the never Bronxs are using a different
design firm than this firm. So that's something that Broncos.

(03:34):
I think the Broncos ownership has a very keen eye on.
Is this disaster of a rollout for the new bill
Stadium that is has got a lot of traction on
social media with its its inhibited sidelines. It looks terrible.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
And I will say this makes me honestly more optimistic
about the Broncos stadium. It's like that old saying, like
the saftest day to fly is the day after, you know,
some sort of air disaster or air tragedy. You know,
I think this it's time to be built in a
new stadium, or start you know, formulating those designs for
the new stadium. Rather is probably right when you have

this super public spectacle. That's an embarrassment for this one franchise. Now,
like you can see how something like this would be overlooked,
but it's also going to be a tremendous problem for
the lifespan of that stadium. Now, that's something that is
absolutely not going to be overlooked. When the Broncos finish
their designs, when the Chiefs finished theirs, the Bears as well,
all these teams you know, putting together blueprints right now,

I think are going to benefit from the Bill stubbing
their toes on this.

Yeah, and this is I mean again, some of those
seats can be pulled out. I don't think you could
really do much to like reduce the columns or the staircases,
but you could pull some of those rails and all
that stuff. It's tricky, It's there's some of that's just
just I don't know. But anyway, disaster of a rollout
for the Bills. And I know the Broncos have sort
of developed a pseudo rivalry with Buffalo over the last

couple of years due to the you know, playoff loss,
playoff win, the the uh, the interception that was definitely
interception and not a catch, but Bill's fans are still
mad about. So I think there's I think there's a
lot too, you know that that was interesting. But yes,
I happen to know that Broncos ownership is keenly aware

of the disaster that has been the new Bills stadium
roll out and uh, and you know, wanted to stress
to the public that they're using a different design firm.
They you know, they are aware of it. Uh. They
do not plan on having reduced sitelines in the new
Broncos Stadium, but it unveils which, by the way, I
think they got the last hurdle over with today, got
that big piece of land, got that last piece of

land that they needed out of that thing, I think,
And so I think they got the last big hurdle
out of the way on that. What the main hurdles
are there. I know they've obviously obviously been talking with
the neighborhood and trying to make everyone feel happy about
whatever direction their head. Yah stuff in the city that
they've got to they got to work out. I don't
think it's going to be an issue.

Really, is that just like a rubber stamping like I
think there's pretty much right now with you know, anytime
you do have taxpayer funds involved, which again the stadium
itself is going to be privately funded, but the improvements
to the surrounding area will be taxpayer funded. Anytime you
have taxpayer funded stuff, politicians want to make sure that
they're uh, they're positioning themselves not to look like an

idiot on something. And I think that's that's a part
of what's what's going on there. Five six six nine
zero is the text line. I don't know if you
guys they have seen this, guess see the Kolababby thing.
Multiple former NFL players and several others are continuing to
try to recoup their.

Losses, in some cases more than a million dollars after
the death of a man they say defrauded them in
a complicated, multi layered financial transaction that's now under investigation
by federal authorities. Three uh NFL x NFL players have
already come forward, as well as some non athletes that
have lost money they invested with Motion Venture, which is

a company run by New Jersey resident Mohammed Khlababi, who
is Kulibali sorry twenty three, who was found found dead
in a pool July thirty. First. Some of the individual investors'
cases exceeded a million dollars. Take Crowder, who was a
former Giants linebacker who played the UFL as well last
season told He told ESPN he lost at least five

hundred thousand dollars, effectively wiping him out, and provided corroborating
evidence of wire payments he made to the company. Now
the part of this that's interesting, I guess the financial
allegations were laid out back in February complaint to the
SEC and these war complaint was fired by Barry Minkow,
who served Peers in time for fraud and now works
to uncover financial crimes. He was hired by three of

the investors and according to complaint, which refers to the
company as vent Motion LLC. Cool Bali offered investors to
put their money into e commerce stores on Shopify. Once
they received their initial investments back, they were encouraged to
pool the money into more Shopify stores in the hopes
of building the company's value at least one hundred million,
at which time a group of Middle Eastern venture partners
would them for a huge pete and if all the

conditions were met. The complaint alleges Coulabally would supposedly divide
the profits between himself and the investors, but the listed
venture partner group from the Middle East says that it
had never heard of Kulibali. The allegations were first reported
back on July fifteenth by Barons and it's a great
piece if you want to read that. Coulibali subsequently told

(08:24):
The New York Post he would strongly dispute a number
of the factual assertions and characterizations contained in the article,
and that in close implies that he would not strongly
dispute some of the other ones. About two weeks later,
officers went to the home in Harrison Township, New Jersey
after Koulabali's family requested a welfare check. Found it dead
in a swimming pool, and so with Koolba's death, it's

unclear whether those who say they were scammed have any
avenue for reclaiming their investments. Crowder's attorneys said that although
Kulabali's dead, claims could be filed against his estate eight
former NFL running back Matt Braida Crowder, a third ex
NFL player a crowd would be take router Matt Brada,

(09:11):
another player, said they initially invested in these Shopify stores
and released and received at least some returns that they
had invested. They all say that they invested in the
Escro deal. Brada put in a quarter million, Crowder put
a half million, third player put in six hundred and
seventy five thousand dollars. According to the SEC complaints and
contracts VID, none received money back despite contractual language guaranteeing payment. Now,

the part way this starts to get interesting is that
in the pitch deck for this company, the only person
listed besides Mohammed Kulabali is ex Arizona Cardinals general manager
Steve Kaime. Kime is listed as the chief financial and
Growth officer and the person responsible for growing the entire company.

(09:54):
In this pitch deck and so Kime who has a
myriad of his own problems in the in his past
and being shady. This is this is where this starts
to get a little bit interesting. And then you saw
some of you guys wouldn't have access to it, but
some of the private, uh stuff that I see for
some of the player groups I'm in about the you know,

(10:16):
calling him, you know, Scamkime and all that kind of stuff.
And uh, I think one of UH, I think DeAndre
Hopkins posted something that would have been public talking about
how crime messed up his EU analysis test and an
effort not to pay him. Time of course, uh was
alleged or is alleged I guess, to have had an

(10:38):
issue with a woman down in Mexico and blaming it
on a former offensive line coach because they looked alike,
they were both had bold heads. That person won their
case against the Arizona Cardinals. That that offensive line coach,
Coogler won their one his case against the Arizona Cardinals.
Time of course had a DUI tried to circumvent league
rules when he was suspended by getting a cell phone
and being able to call down different things during the game,

(11:04):
but this, this situation is interent. Kim after he left
the Cardinals, was with Clutched Sports for a minute, managing
their football division. He left earlier this year, but he
is alleged to be the the other mastermind behind this colivally,
for his part, was somebody that was heavily involved with uh,

(11:26):
some Eagles, a lot of Eagles players for whatever reason.
I don't know why that particularly is, but he had
connections with some Eagles players when he was When his
body was found, there were some well wishes from a
lot of NFL players publicly, but then privately people were
wondering if they were going to get their money back
for whatever it was. This motion ventures deal he was running,

which appears to be a Ponzi scheme.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Well, and the death seems very suspicious fully coincidental. Yeah,
that the moment all this stuff starts bubbling up him
owing a lot of people a lot of money, he's
found dead in his pool, Like that is just it's
one heck of a coincidence. If it's a coincidence, and
I don't even know which way it would be, Like
I could see you didn't mention the cause of death,

(12:09):
but you know that could be a the suicide situation.
It could be a hominicide situation. It seems very Uh yeah.

I don't want to I talked to somebody off the
record on this. I'm trying to like tap dance a
little bit here. I don't want to list the cause
of death, but I will say that I don't think
that I think you're going to find it wasn't him
doing anything to himself and just just leave it at that. Coolibali,
for his part, young guy, he was twenty four years old,

but he had found a way to work his way
in with with some of these players. And the only
thing I could say is just like, we've really got
to get something together that helps protect players from these
just ripoff scams.

Aren't there Isn't that part of like the Rookie Symposium
or whatever whatever the NFL calls it. How can they
I guess upgrade that make it a more serious thing.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah, I mean that's a checkbox type item. I don't
think it's as big a deal as they need to
make it to be. So. The other players that were
and people that were scammed by Coolibali include a Rapper
yg Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Nakobe Dean, Philadelphia Eagles defensive
lineman Jalen Carter, US soccer player Mark McKenzie. Yeah, this

is this is a fairly wide reaching sort of deal,
and there's there's further investigation going on with This is
a fascinating story and I'll have more on this story
on Friday in the Insider segment with Dave Logan before
the before the Broncos game. Some details I'm kind of
hanging on to right now until I can can release those.
But this is a fascinating story. I don't know if

(13:44):
you guys had seen it, and I want to do
one to bring that to people's attention as well as
far as the rest of the stuff goes. Today, we
had a decent day of practice out there at a
good day at practice, Cording to vest Joseph at Uh
at Broadcos Camp, I thought the offense looked a little
better than it had. I mean, it's had some some
weird moments, but looked a little uh, looked a little
bit better than it had over the last couple of days,

where the defense was clearly getting the better of the offense.
US some nice catches from Pat Bryant. Troy Franklin had
a nice catch on a great throw from bow Nicks.
It was nice to see because Troy, you know, you know,
it is it's it's it's kind of up and down
with him. Uh. We had a lot of players going
off today with with various different things, and and certainly
Sean Payton seemed to be visibly annoyed by the fact

that that there were quite a few injuries. That said,
most of the injuries don't look serious at all. You know,
certainly we've we've seen most of the guys coming back
from their various bumps and bruises. The guys that went
out today, I mean, he went on to reassure that
that JK. Dobbin's issue, all soft tissue, was not serious

and that looks to be, you know, again, them operating
out of an abundance of caution. I don't think that
this is it's it's interesting. Uh, it's interesting that we're
having what seems like a sudden spate of them. But
there hasn't really been a season ender here outside of
Matt Henningson, who, while we value hims a rotational guy,

was certainly not a starter on this roster.

Yeah, I mean, you're losing some players here and there.
I think like the Wata one is the only one
you're concerned about, because you want to build that chemistry
and you know, get some you know, build that relationship
between him and bow Nick so you can hit the
ground running and have that great offensive success early that
this team, in this the city has been so hungry
for the others don't seem like they should be too problematic.

And I think in some ways, you know, if you
wanted to anticipit it positive, you could by arguing, you know,
Baron isn't getting a lot of first team reps right,
just the nature of how loaded the cornerback room as well,
when you have days like today where Certa Haan's on
the side field like that becomes more realistic for him.
Troy Franklin's kind of gotten buried as a result of
this Wattle addition.

He's just kind of the odd man out. He's suddenly
at the bottom of you know that five, that group
of five receivers that's likely to make the roster. You know,
how do you get him some more reps with the
ones so it doesn't just become an afterthought or he
gets cold or loses some rhythm. This is one way again,
it's not ideal, but it seems like everything's minor. I
think they're being close to the vest or close to

the chest, in part because of the whole bow Knicks
thing this offseason.

I think Sean Payton remembers that blowing up in his face,
and he's like, all right, every injury question the rest
of the way, I'm being as vague as humanly possible.

So I think that's part of the reason for the vagaries.
But right now, there's no real reason to be concerned
except for I guess both centers being down. But everyone
seems to quickly be trending in the right direction. It
doesn't seem like they're covering up some serious injury or anything. Oh.
I mean, the Courtland being out multiple days thing was
a little like eyebrow raised. But beyond that, I mean.

I think, God, but that doesn't even seem like it
was a serious thing. It seems like maybe something that
didn't clear the bar for like an injury report, but
it was odd but not.

as joined the Brewers. The other three moves did not

the Marlins and the White Sox trading the twenty three

longer blessed with an average hitting tool. It seems it
was a little bit more surprising. It's not gonna hurt
the Rockies. I don't think in all trades the Rockies
added to farm and depth Nick Frasso, acquired from the Dodgers,
the only one added to the major league roster. Rockies,

of course, are headed to Arizona take on the Diamondbacks
after losing two and one against Cardinals in Saint Louis.
Took five from the d Backs last season four the
year before, so we'll see if they can improve on that. Currently,
Arizona wins the season series five to two, and we
already said the pitching tonight is going to be fairly

interesting with Soroco on the bump four Arizona and Hughes,
who is zero and three on the season for the
Colorado Rockies. An altered NFL rule coming down the pipe,
but it's going to allow the head coach to select
a staff member to initiate challenge calls on their behalf.

(21:02):
A new change the NFL rule book will allow head
coaches to designate a member of the sideline staff to
throw down challenges on the team's behalf. In the past,
only the head coach was given the red challenge flag.
Now they will be able to select somebody else ahead
of the game to throw the flag for them. Is
this instead of her? An addition two. In addition two,

this is Rule fifteen, Section one, Article one. I think,
which would be the way the rule book now reads,
is the head coach or head coach's pregame challenge designee
can initiate a challenge by throwing a red flag on
the field before the next legal snap or kick. So
the new rule is just changing the verbiage from head

coaches pregame chout to challenge designee so he like he
can degregate that job. There's only one person with that power,
whether it is the head coach or the designe. There
is one person with that power. Yes, I suspect Sean
Payton will retain.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
That power, especially now that he's not calling plays. There'd
be if you want to zoom out, be the CEO
of the team, focus on the bigger picture stuff. This
would fall in that bucket, you'd think.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, League officials have already confirmed that rule change, so
that that is a thing. All other rules around the
challenge will will still apply. Most NFL rule changes you know,
as you know, are announce during the NFL's annual meetings
in late March. This one obviously wasn't that league is
allowed to make some adjustments to the rule book that
don't need to be voted on by the owners. Having

(22:34):
coaches pick a proxy for throwing a challenge flag, I
guess could help stem some of the emotion involved in
making that call, but gives you a fall guy too. Yeah,
that's where I was gonna go with that. I was like,
I was waiting to see if anybody was picking that up.
I think that really goes the other direction is that
the head coaches that are bad at it now have
a fall guy. Well.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
And the thing is is, I guess we've known forever
that oftentimes there's someone in the head coaches you're saying,
challenge this, don't challenge this, but it all ultimately fell
at the head coach's feet. Now it feels like the
coaches can keep that same org structure ultimately, but make
it so it's more front facing who the public should
actually be mad at.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Right. Some other rules approved by the league ahead of
this season include allowing teams to declare an onsite kick
at any point in the game. Thankfully, God, I hated
how they've tried to do that. They still need to
fix it. I hate the whole idea of declaring it.
The recovery percentage is so low. I don't know how
you fix it, but they need to.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Like I still like the fourth and fifteen or fourth
and twenty idea, but they need to come up with something.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
I know you're not a fan of it. They need
to come up with something they do. I do agree
that it needs to change, but to me, you should
be able to do whatever you want on that play.
If it is a kick, you should be allowed to
kick it in whatever way you want to kick it,
and you don't shouldn't have to declare it ahead of time. Agreed.
The other rules include moving the dead ball spot for
a touchback after a kickoff from the fifty yard line

(23:56):
and changing alignment requirements for receiving a kickoff. It'll just change.
It changes the way. It's not really gona affect most
people's viewing, but the changes the way that you're lined
up for the kickoff. And league personnel are now also
able to step in and speak to on field officials
about potential disqualification even if they were not called. So
New York can buzz down and say they are or
are not disqualified, even if no one checked in with them.

(24:19):
I'm not sure Carter rule. Yeah, I'm not sure, I
like that, but you know, we'll see sort of how
that ultimately plays out. The Seattle Seahawks confirmed a tryout
for corner Terry and Arnold, who was cut by the
Lions amid kidnapping and armed robbery charges. The Lions cut

former first round pick Terry and Arnold back in June
following his arrest on felony kidnapping and armed robbery, and
that legal paral isn't really scaring other teams away. The
Seahawks confirmed today they hosted a tryout for Arnold. Head
coach Mike McDonald addressed the team's interest in the twenty
three er old corner until reporters at the meeting with
Arnold was quote a great visit, a great tryout, and
also acknowledged other things regarding Arnold's status, saying, quote, it

is enough right now that if we had him in
for a great visit, a great tryout. It's a situation
where there's other things that are surrounding it as well.
We're aware of that. We're working through that situation right now.
But it's a great visit. I really enjoyed meeting him.
I think he enjoyed being here. So we will see
where it goes. Other teams that have already worked out
Arnold and co include the Houston Texans, a trial schedule

with the Saints following his Sunday workout with the Seahawks.
Court testimony from Arnold's agent suggested that the Jets and
Colts had also been in touch with Terry and Arnold.
I got several questions about the Broncos, and I don't
believe the Broncos are involved in that at all. I
think their corner room is crowded, if anything, and I

(25:45):
don't believe they're taking on a legal situation like that,
especially with another player with legal issue hanging over his
head to that point though, and the Broncos corner room
is especially crowded. But it seems like a lot of
the teams kicking the tires on Arnold are the teams
that don't have such a glary need. It's not the
team like I don't know, the forty nine ers come
to mind, where it's like, man, this could be a

(26:06):
really high end competitor, but they have a huge glaring
hole at cornerback. You'd think those are the teams who,
for lack of a better word or term, are looking
to like sell their soul to add that former first
round talent. Instead, it's the guys like the Texans or
the Seahawks bringing back these elite defenses. They arguably don't
need the talent, but it, I mean, might make sense

(26:28):
because they have the luxury of slow playing it. But
I think that's an interesting question. I think it's a
rich get richer with the you know, option of playing
him on some sort of minimum deal for Arnold's For

They've got some pieces on that offense, but they just
couldn't put it together with Rahie Marris. The defense is
kind of in shambles, uh, And so it's it's kind

of it's kind of one of those things that the
Falcons are a team that's just kind of at a
state of flux right now as they try to continue
their rebuild.

I feel like it's gotten overlooked because everyone or most

depressing quarterback situation in the league outside of Cleveland right now,

to go all in in free agency at the position

and in the draft at the position, Like they took
two big swings and both of them were tremendous busts
at least how it looks right now. Maybe Pennix gets
healthy and things turn around, but right now it looks
like they spent you know, the biggest contract of that
free agency cycle and a top eight pick on no
semblance of an answer at the quarterback position.

to dig that out. They got the new coach and
