Chadore Sanders was sacked on nine point seven nine or
nine point eight percent of his snaps. Joe Flacco, who
has significantly less mobility than Shodoor Sanders, was sacked on
what percentage of of snaps? I don't know, five point three.

Joe Flacco, who charitably has the mobility of a statue,
was sacked at half the rate.

for instance, interception percentages. Schidwick Sanders was intercepted on four
point seven percent of his passage high Joe Flack three
point eight percent of his passes, Dylan Gabriel one point
one percent of his passes. Well, but this goes back
to play colleague. Although I'm building something here, I'm going

had to play called Dylan Gabriel had a bunch of
short passes.

that they had, because that's not realistic judging seven on

at the Chicago Shoedwish Sanders gets to play his game
at home against the Buffalo Bills. Who has the worst

still have to prove that you still have the goods,

Would say there's a little more pressure for him because
you're playing in front of the home crowd and known
as though how people have looked at him and evaluate
him coming into this situation, understanding what happened with him
in Kevia Stefanski and Keva Sefanski not giving him an opportunity.
I mean, there were games last season where the Browns

were in scoring position they took shador out.

That makes no sense to me, right, So it would
give the impression that, well, we don't know, we don't
have faith in our young quarterback to put the ball
in the end zone. We got to bring in the
running back and it's okay to do it once ben,
not twice. And it's a lot of those narratives that
were carried forward and made people come to the conclusion

that this kid cannot play, this kid can play? Is
he a young player and there's still some growth and
maturity that he needs and as he developed. Absolutely, But
to themiss to dismiss this kid, Shador Sanders will say
that he is not an NFL quarterback.

To me, I think that's ridiculous.

Well, I don't know that he is or is that
I don't like at that point, And I'm not making
that statement. I'm just saying, like, this quarterback competition is
simultaneous and simultaneously hilarious and weird and it's fun. I mean,
you've got video of Watson with that whatever that throw
was that late. It looked like that, Like I said,
Zach texted to me and he's in case sent me
a little meme. He's like another t bow throws hit

the timeline on the Watson thing, and I like, it's
it's just interesting to me because he's getting the first
shot out there. But that's a game that's on the road.
You know, you're having a quarterback competition where one guy's
at home guys on the road. Now, granted, Watson gets
to go up against ostensibly a weaker defense than the
Bears where she is gonna be it's a tougher defense
although he's at home against the Bills. It's just it's
just an interesting quarterback competition because all the other ones

have basically been decided. I don't think there's any other
competition out there. Maybe Arizona, and that's not really a competition.
It's just like where does the carousel land.

But if you're Todd Monken, I mean, you don't have
to make that decision right now. You can wait till
the final preseason game to make that decision.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah, I mean he's gonna wait till at least after
the second preseason game. I don't think he's I don't
think that's it. I just think the interesting part to
me is like this is one of the only quarterback
competitions out there that's an act competition that's going on.
And obviously there's a Colorado connection with Shit or Sanders,
so that's what we're talking about. But I don't like,
none of these guys have been good over the last
little bit. Is there a chance or grew over the
off season got better? Absolutely? Is there a chance he's

a better fit for this offense. Absolutely? Is there a
chance that that Watson suddenly puts it all together? You
know again in the post, Bill O'Brien are sure, But
the clips I've seen coming out of camp don't look
like that, at least not so far. And then you've
got two other guys and Dylan Gabriel and Taylor Green
who probably aren't going to be there.

ladies and gentlemen, it is God during practice.

This is where you want to make your mistakes.

Because there's not a quarterback that I know of that
I played against or played with, or I've been in
the presence of as a coach that had a perfect
day every single day from training camp or in the
regular season.

Well no, not exactly, And that's the point. But everyone's
making a big deal out of well, the guy threw
side arm into an interception. Here's an interception there, But
everyone is picking and choosing who they throw out there
for the audience to scorch because it's not fair. Like
Josh Allen he threw four interceptions to open up practice.

from practice that's focused in on the defender and I'm
watching him the whole play and then watching him make
the pick. I'm featuring him, not saying I'm featuring him.
And then he's in there for one second, you know,

and you get one second of the defender's play.

has significantly less mobility than Shodoor Sanders, was sacked on

that this kid cannot play, this kid can play? Is
he a young player and there's still some growth and
maturity that he needs and as he developed. Absolutely, But
to themiss to dismiss this kid, Shador Sanders will say
that he is not an NFL quarterback.

shot out there. But that's a game that's on the road.

Bears where she is gonna be it's a tougher defense
although he's at home against the Bills. It's just it's
just an interesting quarterback competition because all the other ones

have basically been decided. I don't think there's any other
competition out there. Maybe Arizona, and that's not really a competition.
It's just like where does the carousel land.

But if you're Todd Monken, I mean, you don't have
to make that decision right now. You can wait till
the final preseason game to make that decision.

Yeah, I mean he's gonna wait till at least after

me is like this is one of the only quarterback
competitions out there that's an act competition that's going on.

none of these guys have been good over the last
little bit. Is there a chance or grew over the
off season got better? Absolutely? Is there a chance he's

And some quarterbacks are more criticized than others.

But let me be frank about this to our listeners,
when it comes to practice and it's like, oh, well,
who won the day, or this quarterback threw an interception,
or this was a bad throw. You know what it is,
ladies and gentlemen, it is God during practice.

This is where you want to make your mistakes.

Because there's not a quarterback that I know of that
I played against or played with, or I've been in
the presence of as a coach that had a perfect
day every single day from training camp or in the
regular season.

Not a one.

Well no, not exactly, And that's the point. But everyone's
making a big deal out of well, the guy threw
side arm into an interception. Here's an interception there, But
everyone is picking and choosing who they throw out there
for the audience to scorch because it's not fair. Like
Josh Allen he threw four interceptions to open up practice.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Woun't know what's there anything about it. It's not a
big deal. Well it's not that.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I don't think that DIDC interceptions are a big deal.
That's not what I'm focusing when I'm focusing on is
the weird social media team that's focusing on the quarterback
throwing a pick.

But it wasn't just with the jail and hurts situation.
It wasn't that the idea of focusing on him. Right
the video, the way that it's set up, it looks
like it is primarily focused on him. But quinnin Minchell
was the guy that made the play, right.

But he's only in the video for like a second.

Because once again, that's all you need at that moment.
So okay, Well, here's where Jalen Hurst was going with
the ball. Here's where Hollywood Brown was supposed to be
when the ball was thrown. But here is a defender
using anticipation the ball is coming in in a certain trajectory.
The defense stepped in because everyone keeps talking about the quarterback.

And we went through this here in Denver.

Where it wasn't an equal upliftment of the defense as
it was to the offense.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
So I look at that play as highlighting an.

Offense, a defensive play upon to just say, with all
these great throws.

But offense, well see, I wish they had done that,
but they didn't. They sat there focused on the quarterback
instead of like they've hidden me. And I'm on that
social media team for the Eagles. I'm finding the angle
from practice that's focused in on the defender and I'm
watching him the whole play and then watching him make
the pick. I'm featuring him, not saying I'm featuring him.
And then he's in there for one second, you know,

and really it's just comically bad throw by the quarterback
and you get one second of the defender's play.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
See listen, and you one thing that you would hear
this coming from me, be a defensive player, but for me,
you he used to say that was a bad throw.
Josh Allen throws were in fact bad throat, right, you
want that to happen.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
But they didn't show the throws to Josh Allen.

They don't and that goes back to.

The Buffalo Bill's looking out for Josh Allen not wanting
to put a video out there like that, even though
big ups on the four defensive players that made plays
on the ball, but they don't want to put Josh
out there because they know that's been the conversation for
the past couple of years about can't Josh actually win

That's the overlooking of it because it says right on Q,
and it gives that goes both ways, but he gives
those who have a negative viewpoint of Jalen Hurts is
saying right on Q, meaning.

Q with you know it was making that play.

I want to have the highest scoring offense ever, which
happens to be the twenty thirteen Denver Broncos. I know
how many points per game they scored, and I want
to surpass them. I want shutouts, I want blowouts. What
do you make of that quote from Ben Johnson? And
which NFL offense would you say is most likely to
top the twenty thirteen Broncos record this season. I think
we can all agree it's probably fairly unlikely.

I would suggest that that feels incredibly unlikely, especially since
nobody in the league's playing cover three anymore. Everybody's playing
cover four. Everything's you know, you know, a quarters match, whatever,
everything's in front of you. Games are and scoring has
slowed down from those those years when single high I
was ruling the league. At least for everybody, S could
have played two high or for high whatever see six

know they can put up points. They got two good

by the way, in order for the Rams to do
what I'm saying that they're gonna do, their defense has

that defense, you bet your backside the Rams have an

opportunity to do with Bin Johnson said that he wanted
the Bears to do.

The Rams, by the way, last year were by far
the leading scorer, leading scoring team in the NFL and
would have been a touchdown per game short of the
Denver Brougos. The touchdown plus per game short.

Of that offense was so epic it doesn't get the
love it it deserves.

Historically, it feels like when team were.

When immedia people reference great offenses, it's like the seven

just kind of get lost in the shuffle.

forty one points last year, which would have been good
for second in their own division, but just guys, and still.

Not taking advantage of the idea of the Rams defense.

I will say, really the Bears, do you think you
both kind of highlighted liking that hardcore mentality, that edge
that Ben Jonson brings with aggressive statements like this. Do
you think there's some carry over there between him and
either Sean Payton or Vance Joseph When you hear Zach
Allen and I think it was DJ Jones was the
other one talking about, Hey, we want that sack record

I here's something to I mean, Sean Payton has certainly
painted a target on the team's back at times. Now,
sometimes that's backfired and losing to the Nathaniel Hackett led Jets.
Sometimes it has succeeded when they made the playoffs in
a year nobody expected him to make it. I think
there's something too setting the standard higher than people think
because it gives you something to strive forward. I'm sure
Nick agrees with.

Yeah, of course I believe he wants to remain with
the Minnesota Vikings because he wants to correct all the

pick and we watch other quarterbacks come in and play,
and they went out and grabbed another guy who was
a former first round pick that did not hit the
mark in Arizona. Then he comes in and he assumes

your role. So, yes, you want to have an opportunity,
if you are a competitor, to find a way to
beat him out. The easiest pad pathway out to get
from underneath the situation is bowing out.

Always saying a lot of this in college football, where
guys don't want to compete, they bring someone.

So I like the idea that McCarthy wants to stand
and fight and has an opportunity to win back the
confidence for himself and those in an organization.

You're not dividing a locker room like that. I mean

I don't know if Kyler is the future in Minnesota,
but you've got to figure that out. If you don't
think JJ is the future, because he certainly isn't the present,
then you better find a guy who is.

a toe injury. Do you think the Buccaneers are well
positioned to replace Mike Evans this season after the star

engulfed in flame. First of all, Buka is not replacing
Mike Evans and me, he plays a little bit of
a different position. He is a receiver, but he plays
a different type of position than than Mike Evans, don't
I don't know if they're well positioned. They're receiving corps
a little weird. It used to be a strength of
the team. Now, I mean you got Chris Godwin and

Buka and Jayla McMillan, and after that it's a bunch
of nobody's. Ted Hurst, Tess Johnson, who you know, I mean,
Cameron Johnson, David Sills, Remember David Sills when he was here.
He's on that roster. I mean that's I don't know.
Their receiving corus is what it is. And look, I
like Todd Bowles, I mean, the man you know did

did work in the Super Bowl against have homes. But
that one feels like it's just run its course. And
you know, I've been hearing things there that the pole
reason they're not paying Baker is because they don't want to,
you know, saddle the next head coach for the quarterback,
he may or may not want so take that how.

replace the production of Mike Evans. But if there's a

Rogers also bemoans joint practices, saying, quote, the first year
we were doing them, it was fun because you got
to play a team that wasn't going to UH or
that we weren't going to play how they played in
the preseason. They were going to show you a lot
of different things they were working on. It was like
a real day at camp. But as that got on,
it just stopped being like that. It just turned into
fights and nobody showed anything. I think those are a

waste of a day. What do you make of rogers
remarks and what do you think about preseason football in
joint practices?
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Well, rogersonsited to his opinion, and yes, the joint practices,
there's a lot of fisticuffs that breaks breakout because you're
playing against a guy in a different jersey, and when
that happens, you're competing tippers player.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Is how to practice? You try to earn a job.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Someone puts their hand in your face, hands to the faith.
It's going down, and it's going down right now. But
I would say, listen, I love the joint practices. That
I wasn't all on the train before, but I like
joint practices because as coaches you can script things and
joint practices and get that film out there that you
can't really get in a lot of games situations.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
And yes, you're gonna have.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Your fights, but this is where coaches go out and
they control their guys by telling them, hey, listen, we're
not going to engage in some of that todd foolery
that takes place because we.

Don't want anyone to get injured. But I like the
joint practices. I mean, I don't think Aaron Rodgers cares.
He's spent in the league forever. I don't think he
I don't think he cares about it. I don't think
you know.

So, I think these are probably as far as that
part a real quote from him, enjoy practices, Nick and
I've talked about it. I agree, And I as far
as Rogers goes, I tune out anything he says anymore.
It's always just something stupid, and I just, you know,
I just basically tune out what he says.

Devon Witherspoon explain to the media he isn't holding in
as he awaits a new contract because he's quote focusing
on trying to win games. What do you make of
Witherspoon's response, and do you like the way he's handling
these contract negotiations.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
I mean, yeah, do it in a way. I think
it's the best way to do things. There's there's some
guys need to hold in. I don't think he necessarily
needs to do that, and I think he's saying the
right things in terms of culture and trying to win
games and being a good teammate and that kind of stuff.
There's some guys that need to hold in, right, There's
some guys that are gonna get absurdly large contracts that

they got to put their foot on the you know,
put their foot on the organization a little bit in
order to make that happen. I don't think Spooney's one
of those guys, and I think he's doing it well.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I mean, in this case, what he's trying to do
is show that he is fully committed to the team.

Yes, he would like to hold.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
In, but obviously he's not doing that, and he's hoping
that him showing his level of commitment will turn into
extra commas and zeros for him.

But for me, I'm all for all the.

Lot all these players that we've seen and we've seen
runner backs do it and they got they got paid.
Recently as far as holding in, because it was viewed
by a black eye.

The ownership wherever that player was playing, that he was
holding out for more money. And I'm like, is this
not a money game? So I like the idea that
he is not holding in and he's trying to go
and show the organization that he deserves the money. Now
it's gonna still big a gamble, see a bigger pay
it off.

I think if you're a coach or ownership, you love it.
But if I'm another cornerback out there, I'm going, man,
it's not a hold in. Man played some hard ball.

Raiders, Giants, and Dolphins tight end, amongst some other teams.
Darren Waller will be joining the Carolina Panthers on a
one year deal.

It was announced today.

What do you make of that signing and what do
you think Waller's role will be on the Panthers if
he makes the final roster.

Well, this is a former Georgia take yellow jacket, so
I'm wishing the best form and the fact that he's
going inside a one year deal, it's kind of like
one of those proven deals. Let us let us see
that you can actually get some things done, and this
could prove to be very good for Bryce Young moving forward.

So this test of waters has kick the tize on it.

If Darren Waller show us that he can be anything
of what he was when he was in the league earlier,
then now he could play himself until a much bigger
deal in a much larger role.

you go, I don't know. Uh, I don't know what
you you classify him as here. I think he has
a better chance of making the roster as a air

got Tommy Tremble, who's the starter, mixed guys, you Tavian
Sanders is in that. In that tight end room, You've
got the former Arkansas quarterback turned tight end Felipe Franks.

You've got former Broncocade and Price corn in there. It's
it's a it's an interesting tight end room that doesn't
really have a lot of standouts. So I think he
has a better than averagehot and maybe making the roster
for Carolina, who's still trying to, you know, figure out
what they've got over there, as Dave Canalis. Uh and
and that unit managed to sort of backdoor their way
into winning the division last year, and uh what a

build on that?

Well, here's what I know. There's a lot of versatility,
you know with Waller.

I mean, and he made the Pro Bowl with the Raiders,
So hopefully if he can get back to that same ass,
