Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Raiders are going to try a field goal. Huh,
well you're ten points down, so this field goal will
be spotted near hash at the thirty six and attempt
by Daniel Carlson, a forty six yard snap placement kick
on the way, and it is good with no time left. Interesting,

(00:21):
there'll be a lot of people that will actually care
very much about.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
That kick, especially here in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
But it's over at Allegiance Stadium, and the Broncos have
won their tenth consecutive game, fifth straight win on the
road because they've come to Las Vegas and defeated the
Las Vegas Raiders by a final score of twenty four
to seventeen.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Broncos win again victory Monday. Dave Logan doing his best
Al Michael's there on the call. I know, right that
field goal did care for some people. I tried one
people in the opening line, Hey buy that thing under
the touchdown, you know, and that was one of the uh,
it was one of those things this games. I mean,
the Raiders weren't trying to just mess up the line
or whatever. They were actually trying to kick the field

(01:04):
goal and see if they could get an on side
kick and a Hail Mary, and of course there wasn't
enough time left to do that, but they were trying
for it, and there's nothing says you can't go out
there and get the points. So I don't you know,
I don't want people to be mad at mad at
that pretty suspect to me, did it? Well, I about
to line down six and a half, So I don't care,
just saying, you know, you guys, it's it's just fascinating

(01:27):
to sort of see some of that stuff out there.
Broncos get the win. As everybody I think expected to
get the win over the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
They got the help last night.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
And I say help, it didn't really need it, but
help last night from the Houston Texans defeating the kidsas
city chiefs. That was one I definitely expected. I was
wrong on quite a few of the early slate games yesterday,
but that was when I Houston's defense is something else man,
and I think Broncos fans should be very thankful that
we played Houston when we did, because they were just
getting ramped up to where they are right now, and

(01:58):
that's a dangerous team coming down the stretch. The Texans,
of course, have to do battle with the Jags and
the Colts for their division, the suddenly foundering Colts, who.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Have called Philip Rivers Philip Rivers high school season is over.
He's a high school football coach.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
His high school season is over. Philip Rivers, of course
now a grandfather today, turns forty four years old. Turns
forty four years old. Not quite the forty six that
Steve de Berg was when he came back to sub
in for the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Back in the day, but forty four years old.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
And he only needs like like a thousand yards. I
think I have to go back and look exactly what
it is. I think it's a thousand yards. I have
to go back and look whatever it is to pass
Ben Roethlisberger to move back into sixth place all time
on the list.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I think it's like seven hundred yards.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Actually, yeah, Philip Rivers sixty three, four hundred and forty
Ben Roethlisberger sixty four thousand and eighty eight. Okay, so
he needs like seven hundred plus yards in four games
or I guess three games. So he's probably not gonna play.
He probably play this week because Riley Leonard would be
the guy battling a little injury though, Riley Leonard.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Yeah, but I mean you could Philip Rivers in three games.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
The shell of Philip Rivers could come up with seven
hundred yards to out petty Ben Roethlisberger, who played one
year longer than Philip Rivers.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And that's how he managed to pass him.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I think he's just coming back for the paycheck. You know,
he's got like twelve kids, he's got mouse defeed. Well,
he's got grandkids now, I mean, you know it's Philip
Rivers is my age. How awesome would it be if
he somehow gets them into the playoffs and goes on
a run.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
With the Colts.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh great, and wins some playoff games with Cement that
Hall of Fame Lakers.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
He should be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
People don't realize that Philip Rivers is seventh old time.
I'm in passing yardage, and I believe the same in
passing touchdowns, I'd have to go back and look six
all the time. In passing touchdowns, he's won ahead of
Dan Marino. Now he's not going to get to the fifth.
Brett Farve is what eighty eighty something passing touchdowns ahead
of him, something like that he's not going to pass

(04:19):
far and move into the top five all time and
then move into the top five all time in passing touchdowns,
the passing yardage. Roethlisberger's six and seven hundred yards ahead
of him. And then you've got Aaron Rodgers at fifth.
Who is he's like? Was he two thousand yards ahead
of him?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Give or take.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
I'd have to add in the last last week's SAT,
this week's stats and all kind of stuff. I don't know,
Yeah about two thousand, So I don't think he's getting there,
but he could move back into sixth place and get
back ahead of Ben Roethlisberger on the old time yardage deal.
And I'm so here for it. And forty four years
though Phil Rivers is I mean? And today's birthday, by

(04:59):
the way, he turned forty four today getting that call, Yeah,
that would be The game was better when Phil Rivers
was dead.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Phil Rivers was the all time, uh clean trash.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Talk guy, Like he would trash talk anybody, but it
was always like super clean trash talk. I'm here for
the bolo tize and the press call. You're here for
the bulletize to bring that back. But I I just yeah,
Philip Rivers. I mean, I am so here for him
to for him to do it. He's uh, Phil is

(05:35):
one year younger than I am. That's insane, That's insanity.
But I am absolutely here for it. I And what
how cool would it be for all the kids.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
That played for him, playing high school ball for him.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
You get a chance to go root for root for
coach out there trying to will a team to the
to the to the super Bowl. Now, granted we don't
want the Cols to beat us, but how cool would
that be?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
And like Dave Logan jumping back in and I mean,
you know, thirty years ago, but jumping back in and
you know, and helping to will a team to a
super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I think it's a great story.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
And there's no better time in the NFL history for
an old quarterback that stands in the pocket. You know
you're protected more than ever, So why not go out
there and slinging it around for a couple of games?

Speaker 2 (06:19):
What do you got to lose? Yeah? Yeah, I'm so
here for We got a big show, said night.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Cody Rourke going to join seve o'clock rom me being
seven thirty five, Nick cosmid Or eight o five Broncos
beat the Raiders, and now you've got the top test
down the stretch. No more gon Be games. Everything is
basically a playoff game from here. And I say that
with respect to winning the number one overall seed, maintaining.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Your lead on the division.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
You got the Eagles and Chargers playing tonight, and I
think the Charge is gonna win that one. I know
everybody's I don't rooting for the Eagles, but I think
Charge are gonna win this one.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You see the glove on Justin Herbert's left hand.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah. Ryan Edwards had a great line earlier on KOs
said it off air actually, so I'll give him credit
for it now, said it looks like the Hamburger helper logo.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
And I couldn't agree more.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
That thing is huge, Yeah, I mean, and it's like
Joel padding in there and all this kind of stuff
like it's it's designed. Yeah, it's it's it's fun. We'll see,
you know, we'll see what what they're able to do.
I expect them to run the football lot tonight, but
I do expect them money. That's what That's the way
you beat a Fangio defense. So we know about the
Fangio defense. We had it here, you Nicola Diamond in

(07:29):
the flats and you and you you hammer him with
the power run game.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Who's going to be the first to hit justin Herbert's hand?
My votes is Jalen Carter.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah. I was Is Chauncey Gardner Johnson back on the
Eagles yet?

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I don't think so?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
I was like, he would be the guy like I'm
looking for all you know, those guys, you know who
I'm talking about, who's their chain snatcher? Who's there to
leave Carter is probably the best answer. If if Chauncey
Gardner Johnson is back there, I would say that I
would say he would be.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
In line for for that too. He's that dude. Absolutely
do something like that.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Five six six nine zero is the text line people
already chiming in on Phil Rivers.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Does Dennis Quaid play play him as the quarterback in
the movie Guaranteed the five four to one?

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Did he?

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Didn't he do that with like the Baseball movie where
he was the old guy coming back?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Wasn't that Dennis Quaid the rookie? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Great?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
And then of course he was cap in any given Sunday. Yeah,
but yeah, the rookie man. I forgot about that movie.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
H five four to one and Phil Rivers comes back.
I'm rooting for the Colt to win the Super Bowl.
Dude deserves a ring.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Well, I'm not going to root for him over the Broncos,
but otherwise I'd be rooting for it. Four ones.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I'd just call Ryan Oscar always hating on nicknames. According
to AI Oscar the Grout's personality, he is described as
habitually irritable, enjoys negativity, and finds joy in the opposite
of whether there's do aka a hater of fun. Personally
believe he's like that due to a diet derived of
protein and not derived from each and a build up
of toxins from PSLs that sounds like science to me.

(09:03):
For one seven, I am a hater of fun, sounds
like absolute science.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Two one four. I have to ask when is the
play over on a made field goal? Because there was
still time on the clock when it went through.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
In my head, of course, you kick the field goal
on the off chance you have one.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Second left for another possession.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
It was alay called Yeah, that's exactly what it was,
and that's that's what they were doing. Is Devin Carter
out tonight, by the way, is he I don't know,
he might be, Yeah, I mean the Raiders were just
trying to I mean they were trying to win a game.
They were trying to do their best to win the
football game. To kick a field goal and trying to
get a Hail Mary atwn and is improbable as it
may seem. I mean, you know, I can't fault them

(09:43):
for that should have been in a position to make the
field goal to begin with.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Jayden Carter is out tonight. There you got week to
week with a shoulder entry six o five chiming in
on that one. Now, I don't know who to pick, yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
I mean if Chauncey was with the Eagles, that would
be the app salute stone cold, mortal Locke of all time.
I don't know who's gonna be the first Eagles player
to get dirty with with justin Herbert's hand.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Nick Ferguson said he'd absolutely go for a head on
the hand.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah, and I believe in all private safety to look
for like red blanket ship to do something like that.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I mean, who else because like none of those other
guys really that dude.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I mean, maybe like if Ja Cory and Bennett gets
in there is it? Dory Jackson ate the dude? I
remember Dory Jackson. I had to interviewed him on the
Red Carpeak for the draft a year and we were trying.
We were trying to pull a ran Edward Steve Atwater
and see if I could beat him while he was
in dress shoes.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
How'd that go? He was like, I'm not running against you.
He's like, I've got nothing to gain. Yeah, it's like.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
If I slip and fall or if I lose, like
you're forever the guy who beat at Dory Jackson.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
He's like, talk to me after the draft.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's like a right smart move, That's what I'm saying.
We got Madden, We got to get this guy's awareness
up to at ninety nine. And I absolutely would have
got the brake speed off me by Dorriy Jackson. Who
I do is fast fast, But it was it was
funny the way that he did that five six six
nine zeros text line. I thought R. J. Harvey took

(11:25):
a big step in that game. Now I get I
get it. It's the Raiders. Their defense isn't exactly what
you would call good. But I thought that I thought
he had I don't want to say his best game
as a pro, but kind of, like, you know, he

(11:46):
started to start to see it a little bit better.
He was running with authority. He started seeing a little
bit better, and part of that was Sean sticking with
him a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Mean, he got seventeen carries in that game.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
You know, they used to cut jk off at like
thirteen carries, but they stuck with him a little bit.
They didn't have the weird old rotations as much. It
was still there sometimes, but they stuck with him, and
I think he finally, you know, found the way to
kind of sort of get into a rhythm. I thought

(12:18):
this play was the most impactful play and kind of
showed why Sean Payton and George Peyton fell in love
with him.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
And it wasn't a run. It was a short catch.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Knicks takes the snap, looks left, throws the ball to Harvey,
who catches it, doesn't get knocked down, keeps his feet
and will have a first down With terrific second effort.
Devin White and Isaiah Paulamou make the tackle. Jamal Adams missed,
and Jamal Adams, one of the big tacklers in the league.
I mean he went shoulder high on RJ. Harvey, who

(12:51):
kept his balance with his left hand on a third
and two, a catch and run of three yards first
down Denver.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, Harvey did all the work on that too. I
mean that was considered a pass and you know whatever,
but it.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Was it was a run.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
It was it was basically a lateral uh and and
r J may and yeah he made uh some.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Of the Raiders players. The tackling was just poor in
that game. That's why they are two and eleven teen.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Yeah, you just saw there was a lot of bad
tackling for for you know, and Patrick Graham was a
good defensive coordinator. You gotta you gotta be frustrated at
the at the testim of the tackling that we saw
on that Broncos science Sincere McCormick today, he bring him
on to the practice squad. This is another guy who
just fits the same mold as these other guys. Though,

(13:39):
although my boy had apprenticed to get some.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Plays, man, he I love. I was like, yeah, you
have the big ball. The ball.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
He got some plays. I was happy about it. I've
been screaming to you know, give him a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
You want to hear that call. Yeah, I go for it.
We need like five touches and targets out of him.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
A game pull back in the game and he gets
the carry inside of twenty five, inside of twenty This
is Prentis.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
He's got a first down as he's rolled to the
turf at the fifteen yard line by Isaiah Polam out
eighteen yards on a run by Adam Prentiss. He came
in to the game this year with twenty yards rushing total,
longest run of the game and who would have thought
it would go to Adam Prentiss.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Yeah, Prente is a guy remind you little of Peyton
Hillis is not you know, he's not as athletic as
Hillis was.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Hillis was a was an unbelievable athlete for his size.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
He was a little bigger than than Adam Pretti too,
which is you know, Hillis was like a four to
four guy that at that side the unbelievable athlete. Not
that Predie isn't, but Prendis is like a four to seven,
four eight guy. Do you think he will stay in
the I guess game plan. When you're productive.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Like that, you got you kind of gotta I think
I think Mike Burton is gone, gone for good. You know,
he'll get capture.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
The fullback gets used in the Sean Payton offense occasionally,
so you you gotta be ready for it. But it
looked like Pretis was ready to step up and for me,
you know, let him dot the I a little bit.
You get Adkins back in there, put Adkins at the
h back and let let let the big fellow get
behind him and run.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
See what happens.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
What a short yardage duo right there, That's what I'm saying.
And you can't because both of them are pass catching threats.
Predis had a catch in the game too, nice catch
and run. I you know, at the end of the day,
I just I thought it was a good game. I mean,
it's it's the Raiders, you know, so I'm not I'm
not sitting there doing it, you know, doing cart wheels
over any of that kind of stuff. I'm not sitting here,

(15:33):
you know, trying to take too much out of it.
You beat the Raiders. I don't care about the people
in the final score stuff. I don't care about that.
You get the dub. It was essentially a two score win,
even though you know the field goal. If you're a
better you know, listen to the opening line. I told
you by that down six and a half, I thought
my biggest takeaway was it was a boring game, and

(15:54):
I was hoping it was going to be a boring
which is what, Yeah, what you wanted. Now the real
test comes up. You've got the Green Bay Packers come
into town. You got the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to town.
Jackson Jackson quietly put together a real good offense and
they don't have Travis Hunter anymore. Yeah, they're putting up
they're putting up points. That offense is starting to click
with with with what Liam Cohen has done. And I'll
tell you what, man, their defense is is not a

(16:14):
joke like it used to be. It's not great, but
it's not a joke like it used to be. Anthony
Capanelli's doing a good job down there. How about Tim
Patrick finding the home there as well. Yeah, getting a
couple of touchdown catches this year, and I think the
underrated signing of the year Jakobe Myers from the Raiders
out into that offense night with him, Parker Washington. I mean,
these guys they've got they've got some threats. When Travis
Hunter comes back.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
They've got something.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
I think they need to make Travis a full time
corner though, you know, give him a couple of plays
on offense here or there, but he really needs to
be like a full time corner. Yeah, I agree, he was.
He's just such a shutdown corner. And they've got enough
weapons on offense, like now, all the names we just mentioned,
So saying you got reivers, you can find receivers corners
is everybody's always looking for corners. And then let's be

(16:55):
what I do and give them a couple of packages
on offense here there, you got enough that you can,
you know, you can run a couple plays for had
some fun when they didn't do all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
But they're you know, Jacksonville's no slous but you.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Got you got games coming up the next the next
four games, the rest of the schedule here, it's a
legit schedule. You got the Packers coming to town are
no slouch. You've got the the the Jaguars who are
no slouch. You've got uh Kansas City game in Arrowhead
on a short week on a Thursday on Christmas, and
you know they're gonna be looking for revenge.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, but it might be the end for Travis Kelsey.
I mean you might.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
These might these next couple of games, you might have
a pretty feral Kansas City team. Even if they went out,
they're still only what sixteen percent to make.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah, put the nail on the coffin.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
If they win, If they win their next couple of games,
we could be the team to finally end this version,
I'll say, this version of the Chiefs diners. And they
need to reset. They need they need a new right tackle.
They need to get rid of Matt Naggie as offensive coordinator.
They I mean, that's been the boat anchor on what's
happening there. They stayed invested in some guys too long.
They've got some offensive line pieces that aren't good. And

(18:00):
then you've got, you know, and then you've got the
the Matt Naggie factor here. And Aggie was was clearly
a problem in Chicago. You could see what Ben Johnson's
doing there and and Naggie's getting consideration for this Tennessee job.
If I'm a Broncos fan, I'm like, no, keep him.
I hope it goes to somebody else, because you know,
as much as I have criticized heavily, uh, some of

(18:23):
the coverage surrounding Eric the enemy. I feel like he
was a missing piece in that room in terms of
the standard that he said and holding people accountable or whatever.
The enemy of course the running backs coach for Ben
Johnson in Chicago now, but but you know, the media
coverage that he deserved, you know, a head coach job
and OC job and all this kind of stuff. I'm like,
he wasn't the magic there, but he was a key
piece in terms of, you know, being that dog on

(18:45):
the coaching staff that kept people accountable. It just doesn't
feel like Kansas City has that right now because they
have certainly taken a step back, and it's not all
on just you know, Patrick, you know, on on on
Travis Kelsey declining, you know or whatever. Kelsey still got
enough in the tank that he's serviceable. That drop was
bad last night, though it was gross.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
It was gross, but you.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Were also up against arguably the best defense in football
in the Houston Texans.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
I mean, it's a really good deal.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
I had some some some guy and this guy's he's
like from the five o five. Yeah, he's constantly texting
in here, you know, he's the last guy fooled by
those articles about me five years ago, Like the last
dude still duped by that.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
He calls in with or texting with all his nonsense
every once in a while.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
He's mad at me for saying the Texans were probably
the best defense in the league or whatever, like I
think they are though, if it's not Seattle or Houston
in Denver, it's one of those three. They're fast and Houston,
but Houston is like, the way they play defense is
so disrespectful. And the reason I say that is they
don't blitz, they don't disguise. They just run the same

(19:47):
thing with their front four coming at you and just
execute at such an incredibly high level. It's to me,
that's just I mean, you don't blitz, you don't disguise it.
You're just like, here's what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Beat us. That's something else. We gotta hit a break.
Broks cutry night back after.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
This driving kick mimes on a gallop from the forty eight.
Marvin in trouble, steps out of a tackle, and here
we go.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Marvin's loose plays draw a Raider down the sideline twenty
fifteen ten five touchdown.

Speaker 6 (20:23):
Marvin Mims a punt return of forty eight yards. He
looked like he was tackled by a sea of black jerseys,
then got out pointed to the lone Raider with a
couple of blockers in front and j. L. Skinner a
really nice block on the punter that freed Mimes to

(20:44):
saunter down the Broncos sideline into the Raider end zone.

Speaker 7 (20:48):
Jail Skinner, I love him the death. Been with me
for three years, man, dude. It's incredible, always making the
key box for me. But uh, we're good retiring a
good call and uh, you know, at a little bit
of a bunch right there, and I find my way
out of it. It is clear day, you know. Jay
I picked up the punter and it was I mean
it was a walk in. So he was played for
us in this team and it was. It was great.
My first career one. So always remember this one.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
That return touchdown versus of Men's career. I believe.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
I can't believe it was his first one. No, he's
how explosive he is.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Return game.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Had some great returns but never found the the end zone.
It's the last return touchdown by a Bronco since Deontay
Spencer got his first and only NFL touchdown, returning one
for the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Spencer of course had a fun it's a moment on Twitter.

Speaker 8 (21:41):
Where he he's very religious and so he was Spencer
was putting a you know, his Hashtager's things god speed,
but he used the lightning bolt e moji for the
s and it just like it just looked like God
lightning bolt Emji pede.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
And it was, oh my god, it was the funniest,
Like three hours on Twitter, people were like and they
were they were doing memes of him, like playing in
the rain and using the hat.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
It was.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
It was pretty funny. This is a long time ago,
but it was pretty funny.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Little moment there for Deantay Spencer, who was who was
briefly a Bronco in a return down.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I got pretty good return.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Guy, but yeah, Martin Mimms getting the tuddy there and
that was fun.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
That was fun.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
I had the we were down, Nick and I were
down to burn down. We had the whole bar was
was kind of jumping at that point. That was just
a just a fun moment. And you know, I think
it's a dimension to what Denver does. You gotta get
Mims going. I just my my My only frustration is
it feels like we don't use him enough, especially in

(22:46):
the vertical game. Is Sean Payton saving that his He's
been running all these these bump passes and screen stuff
and everything. Is he's saving the the Marvin Mims deep shot.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
I don't know what he's waiting for.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Well, maybe maybe they want these next four games because
this is you know, That's the one thing that bothers me.
I'm like, if you've got a fly or a post,
why would you not put Mimes on that. You don't
have to be the most to draw route runner of
all time.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
He could do that.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
By the way, you were talking about nicknames for Marvin
Mims at the end of KOA Sports. He said in
a postgame interview. I think Zach Stevens posted it that
the wide receiver room calls him mile High Marv, which
I think is a beautiful nickname. I don't think we
need to go reaching like Nick mcgui or defense. I
think mile High Marv is what it needs to be.

(23:40):
Did the mile high salute at the end of that
punt return touchdown?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
That's simple, sweet, That's simple. I guess I don't.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
I mean, I guess you kind of want something with
a little more something to it, you know, like Casa
Benito is like gold, that's like the gold standard. My
ex Moss three sixty didn't catch on because we had
PS two over there, and you know the X Moss
x Mass three six Cossa Bonito is everywhere now though, Yeah,

(24:06):
I know there's other's people out there merchandise and that put.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
It on T shirts. I'm like kids royalties just saying
we had Broncos.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Country Night had that nickname on him back in March
before too much before he was drafted by the Broncos.
By the way, you were talking about Sean Payton not
using Marvin mems in more ways. He said this today
in his press conference.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
It's been embedded in me. The quickest way to improve
a team is, you know, the kicking game and get
the offensive line squared away. And and we didn't have
a returner. And I remember when we were watching his film,
we knew he was a captain at Oklahoma. We knew
he was an accomplished receiver, but he was also we

(24:49):
felt one of the better returners, if not the best
returner in the draft. And so when you when you
check those vision boxes the way we were able to
with him, and then I would say he's exceeded our
expectation as to what type of guy he is, how
he works, what kind of team made he is, And honestly,

(25:11):
just coming out of a staff meeting, you know we've
got to continue to find more touches for him on
the offensive side of the ball. And we'll do that.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Okay, Well, I you know, and this is I don't
want this to be a stretch or a surprise or
a shock to anyone, but someone and I see everyone
looking at me, should tell Sean Payton that.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
As the play caller, he can personally make that happen.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
I love how he was, like, we just came out
of a meeting and then became pretty apparent that we
need to get him more touches.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Yeah, I'm like, I don't know how to put this.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Coach, you are the head coach and decision maker on offense.
It's literally the ball is literally at your court.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
You can do that whenever, whenever you want to.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
You could use Marvin Mims even more or more just
in general, since you don't use him very much.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Just saying remember at the end of last year.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
We you suddenly remembered you had him, and the guy
kept going off.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
That Cincinnati game. I know, let's just.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Watch him like he's just running by people, and I'm like,
why have we not been doing this? And if you
tell me we're saving him for returns, like no, stop, Yeah,
that's like four plays a game.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah, especially with our defense, right.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Well, with our defense, we're forcing them to punt more,
so it would be more places. Yeah, but yes, this
is self defeating. But yes, I'm just taking kickoff or
as we head down to the final you know, we're
in the final quarter of the season. I know it's
not sixteen games anymore, so it's difficult say that, but
we are. And you know, we have the final final
couple of games here, and you look at this thing

(26:54):
and I'm like, all right, we.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Just we need some more explosives. In the past game,
why all you ye have we ignored our most explosive guy.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
You remember all those overthrows down the sideline, like Troy
frankl I bet Marvin Mims catches.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Up to those. Damn.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
He's proved last year that he can make contested catches,
which is something that Troy Franklin really struggles with Yeah, yeah,
that's a good one. Seven one nine says Marvin Hims.
I don't hate that. I don't hate that, except that
hymns has become synonymous with something else, like he is,
hyms is a thing, But hyms is a brand of

(27:31):
Uh that's what a brand you use, right, shampoo, It's
a it's a brand for it's a brand for middle
aged men looking for the rogaine or the Viagara effect.
They sell those types of products. So, yeah, way to
roll that one out there. Grant appreciate it. So I

(27:51):
I sort of get where you're going there, but that
that's one that that's one that I don't know. Yeah,
so when I we just played the clip where he
said that need to get more involved in the offense
trains in me. He always says that, he said, we
need to do this more, and then they just don't
do it. We need to have fewer penalties, and then
they just don't have fewer penalties. Like it's anyway five

(28:12):
six six nine zeros text line. Somebody asked to advance
Jose would be a good fit in Cleveland. Many want
a good fit in Cleveland. Well, I say this man
shud Or, all the Shed haters. I'm gonna get to
see Brian, all the Stepdor haters. They got to kind
of be quiet for a little bit. Like whatever else
you think of Shador Sanders, He's proved he can at.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Least play at this level. I don't know how long
this thing works.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
I don't know what level he can play at, but
you watch that game, he at least he proved he
belongs at the NFL level. What what what level of
involvement that is, whether that's a starter or a backup whatever.
I mean, the guy keeps going out there and you
see the people hating on him. You see people say
he can't do certain things, and I'm like, man, yeah,

(28:57):
I don't know. Yeah, he has some problems. He certainly
takes that he absolutely should not take. He does try
to bail out the back door pockets and extend plays
when and he's got to learn to let it go.
You have only three hundred yards passing, three passing touchdowns,
and a rushing touchdown in the game. He definitely has
a head coach that hates him taking him out on
the two point on two point conversions and try you know,

(29:18):
it's like it's so obvious that Kevin Stefanski hates him.
I will give him credit, though, Shador saying all the
right things, all Prescott, like the reporters there in Cleveland
are trying to set him up for a sound bite
that's going to create the rift even more.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah between him and Stefanski.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yeah, hero, Yeah, he's he's like, he's grown up a
little bit as far as that kind of stuff goes.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
At the beginning of the year, I.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Had some talk to some Browns players, and you know,
we get I get some text messages and guys saying.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
You know, I don't know this guy maturity, I.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Don't know, And those guys are like, man, he's grown
up over the course of this year a little bit.
Maybe time away from Dad did him a world of good.
You know, maybe maybe not having that helicopter dad right there.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Is doing him a world of good in terms of
growing up. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
We got Cody Rourke and romy Bean coming up here
in the next hour. Good a chance to talk to
both them and figure out where they're at with this thing.
I was just glad it wasn't another Oh my god,
we need a fourth quarter comeback me too, man, Like
I said in the first segment, boring game and the

(30:26):
best way possible. Like, I know the final score is
twenty four to seventeen, but he never felt like the
Broncos were gonna lose control of that game. And point
twenty one to seven, you're like, this this is completely over. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you go halfway through the third quarter, yeah you felt
like yeah, you felt like it. In the third quarter,
you felt like this thing was over and you're just
you know, you're just grinding out the clock now. And

(30:46):
that's the way you want to feel at a game
like that, because the touchdoff's coming up. You got a
you got a Packers team. It's creative on defense and
you can get after the quarterback. It looks like their
offense has figured it out to start to figure it out.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
It looks like it.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
You got a team that's very good on offense, and
you know their defense isn't a joke like it's been
in previous years. You've got a Kansas City team in
Arrowhead on Christmas on a short week, on a Thursday night,
after having played the Jags, and most likely a very
desperate to Kansas City team.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Feels like it. You've got a Chargers team.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
And you know, Coach Harball that Sean Payton's been unable
to beat Peyton for his career, has one win against
Jim Harbaugh and that was way back when he was
at the New Orleans a last second field goal.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
They got to get that. He's got to get that
off his back at some point. This is the year.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, maybe it might be. I mean, it sort of feels.
I mean, I'm not one of those team of Destiny
kind of people.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
I'm not superstitious. I'm not even a little stitious.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
But I'm doing the reverse Jinks thing for you guys
because you like it, but I like, I don't.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
I don't know. This just feels different.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Maybe they get a loss in these next four games
or whatever and that that, you know, that kind of
shakes me out of it a little bit.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
But right now, it just feels different, you know.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
And I don't know how to I don't know how
to quantify that or qualify that in any other way
other than to say it just feels different.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Cody Roark, when we come back, it might just be
one of those years, folks. It might just be
