What up?

Speaker 2 (00:00):
What up? What up?

Speaker 3 (00:01):
Zack?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Seeger's back there behind the glass.

Speaker 4 (00:03):
You could call hall of shame, but I didn't want
to do it to him.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
The guy's glowering. He's glowering at me right now. This
is because I called you old last night.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
This it is absolutely because you will call me old
last night. I got a birthday this week.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I'm extra sensitive about it, Max Line. Zack is proving
how young he is. He has he didn't have a
spect of hair on his face, and I look at that.
It's clean fit. We'll head up top.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Though, like where's Whereas for me, it's started to migrate down.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You know, you know, you get older, it starts to
migrate down the back.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Of your neck or whatever. Yeah, I got that going
on right now. I have to, you know, get to
get the clippers out, shave off the neck. I gotta
fro but it's all back here.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
You gotta throw your back.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
I got you.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I got right here at the base of my neck
and I get get get, get trimmed up.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Your hair just you know, it just starts migrating. Just
everything starts sagging.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Eat, your hair starts creeping down, just making the journey
down the hill for the.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Sense of expression cover. It's all going downhill. It'shere the
expression comes from. Now where the expression comes.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, it's gonna be like there's no way yeah, five
six six zero is the text loot. I'm just like
giving Zach guff because I'm and I use words like
guff because I'm an old I I give him a
little bit ofguff because i'mjealous of that hair. And uh,
you know, I used to have a thick coaff up here,
and it's it's time to res out the turf.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Might have to go to one of these places and
you know, reach out of the field. There are tons
of people that do that, and nobody knows.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Hey, well everybody will know because it's gotten thin up here,
ight up to the point where everybody will know.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
But I don't care you Maybe you could get your
sposorship too. Maybe's right.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Look, you got one of those sweet sweet hair restoration
places out there, and uh, you want to put some
you want to help me reso out the turf.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I mean I'm all the way in. Yeah, man, hook
you up, get them a little working.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Ready, I'll take your money that whatever else you got
out there too.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
You net some some men's regenitive stuff. I'm here to.
I'm here to. Is that pretty expensive home? Apparently?

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yes, apparently it's like really expensive. The hair d the
hair thing. Yeah, it's I gets like twenty thousand dollars.
I think, Oh dang, they may be like maybe maybe
not all places are that way, but the one place
that I was recommended to, yeah, it was like twenty grand.
I'm like, I'm not spending twenty grand on this, Like,
all right, I'm vain, but I'm.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Not that fag.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
We used to do as for us for a year
and we're not paying you anything. We're just going to
do your I would totally do that.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Damn. We don't bring a deal right now?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Dark Yeah yeah, yeah, dang, it's like no, I'm just
saying like I would totally take but.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
To get that back right there. Yeah, but that's thick,
it's lustrous product in their dat. I feel like I
might get jumped after this show.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Later ripped it, glue it on in patches go from there, Steve.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
But it's a bye week and we're coming off the
bye week to colts are coming off the bye week
as well, and what he's probably the biggest game for
the Denver Broncos since the run up to Super Bowl fifty.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I know, Sports talk guy with the microphone always has hyperbole.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
All THETTCH games most way, but just what.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
It really is, and more so than the others, because hey,
you win this one, you get the two game lead
on the Colts instead of the one game lead. Be
you'll have the tiebreaker against them, Whereas if you lose
this game, there are one.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Game behind you. You you are.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
You don't have the tiebreaker against any other wildcard team
if you want to make the playoffs this year.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
This is a big game. This is a big game,
and I think we talked about this last week.

Speaker 6 (03:16):
We can speculate, but the players can't focus on it.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know. They got to just do it just like
any other You can't eminem it.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
You one moment, one shot, mom spaghetti, you can't now
you got it?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, I mean you.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Guys States, Because as big as this game.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Is, you got a Fursday night turn around out in
Los Angeles. Just that's gonna be a game there, boy.
So in order for that game, in the big Game,
we got to win this one, right, you know, intically
still make the playoffs if they lose the Colts.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
But it starts to get dicey at that point with
you know, need some help here, need some help there,
making sure because the Colts remaining schedule is against the
Titans at home, out to the New York Giants, and
the Jags at home, and that is about as the
easiest schedule is you can't possibly get. Meanwhile, the Denver
Broncos have a Thursday night game against the Chargers. They
are trying to go to Cincinnati and follow that up

(04:08):
with Kansas City at home.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Now, Kansasity might.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Be resting people by that point, and you know, if not,
that is a brutal schedule.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Go in the other direction. It is.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
But I think that the really good teams have to
be able to be in those games and step up
to the plate and make it happen, you know, regardless
of who the opponent is, regardless of where it is,
either at.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Home or at their place. This is a cluch time now.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
Yeah, and this team has already proven that they're much
better than everyone thought they were going to be.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Oh definitely, that's for darn shir Like.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Whatever whatever else happens the rest of the season, this
team certainly outperformed expectation.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Right now. But now you've got a chance to do something,
specially what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
The expectation though, has changed because the expectation.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
From the outsiders now go back.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
It was funny I was going back and listening to
my insider taking with Dave Logan in the first month
of the season. One of the things that we're talking
about was that the internal expectations for this team was
the playoffs. The coaches in the player leaeve they would
make the playoffs, and outside expectation was not that sports
books had them at five and a half wins.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
All that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
But the external expectation has changed, and now that you
know they've gotten to this point, it would be a
disappointment if this team doesn't make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
You told me before the season.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
This team's make the playoffs, and a lot of people
have said, you're out of your minds Now, it would
be a disappointment if they don't make it.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
Yeah, because they've been really consistent. And I would say, really,
since that Chiefs game, it's it's been it's been lights
off football they've played written that was after Baltimore Raang, Yes, Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Than Kansas City.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
Yeah, Yeah, it's been solid and as not it up
until that point. But really, I think that Kansas City
Chiefs game showed them that they can play with anybody
and gave them that confidence when they step on the
field they can make plays. Yeah, both sides of the
ball too, I mean all three areas, because kicking game
has been soiled all.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Year, right right, Yeah, And the Broncos have outscored their
last three opponents bigly. It has been. It has been
very very it's what one hundred and eight what is it,
fifty eight, one hundred eight to fifty eight over the
last three games. I guess the Falcons, Raiders, and Browns.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Now.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
It's not exactly a murderer's row of teams, but certainly
that is that is coming out and performing very very well.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
On any given Sunday, anything can happen. So every game
that you win, it builds your character. It says something
about who you are as a team and how your coast,
how you're motivated.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
The whole nine yards. Since the Panthers win.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
That game, the Broncos have gone over four hundred total
yards of offense three times. They've been over three hundred
yards of offense, and every game except the Kansas City
game where they had two hundred and sixty.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
The offense has been much improved worse.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
You know, it's not like it was in the first
quarter of the season where they were struggling to get
to uh, well, they didn't evenet to two hundred yards
the Jets game. They were struggling to get to two
fifty in a lot of games. Uh. And and they've
just gotten better and better as the season has gone along.
Uh And we're still seeing it. But the run game
is something that has been very hit or miss. And
we're in the part of the season where uh you
need to run more.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah, you need the run game.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
In late December, you want that run game in that defense,
especially if you've got to travel, and you do have
to travel. You've got a Thursday night game against the Chargers,
and you got a tough game December twenty ninth against
the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, and that run game, especially on the.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
Road these last games, like you said, and I'm going
to say, once we get into the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Is going to be crucial.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
You get you gotta get that run game going, and
you got it, you gotta stick with it.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Yeah, And I think that I think I want to
see time is they come back. Yeah, well yeah, I
mean yeah, he gets.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Game. Yeah, maybe they need to have a second tight
ends day or started moving up, uh, you know to
January fifth against Kansasity. I'm just saying, but to me,
the run game, they've got to find a way to
get consistent with it because over the last four games,
two of those games they haven't even gotten to eighty yards.
And they've been over one hundred on the ground for

(08:25):
seven straight games, including two twenty five against the Saints.
But they've been over one hundred on the grounds every
game since the Pittsburgh game when they had sixty four.
Then he had seventy eight against Kansas City, sixty three
against the Raiders, and you apparently got over one hundred
against the Falcons the Browns with six. The run game
has been deteriorating since that Panthers game, and that's something

(08:45):
that scares me a little bit as.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
We head into the last quarter of the season.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
Yeah, and I would imagine coach Payton knows that it's
going to be vital down the stretch and that's something
that they're going to be working on and to make
sure that.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
They can.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Keep the defense off the field, they can have some
sustained drives, and we have sustained drives as the last
game against the Cleveland Browns. Don't don't get me wrong,
but it's going to be even more vital as we
get deeper into the season.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
I think the last four games Kansas City, Atlanta, the Raiders, Browns,
it's showed me a little something On offense. The defense
has looked pretty good ever since the Baltimore schlacking.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
It is the playoffs start to round into form.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
If the Broncos can pull this off and get into
the playoffs, I think we're starting to eyeball potential first
round matchups a little bit, and you know, you don't
want to jump out too far ahead, but you kind
of know in the AFC who the teams are. You know,
there's gonna be one odd man out here somewhere. It
could be the Broncos, but we basically know that the
Chargers and Ravens are probably going to be in it
as wild cards and if the Broncos get the other one,

(09:51):
so we kind of know who the teams are going
to be here.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
And as we look at this, I think.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
There's some teams at match up pretty well, and I
think there's some teams you don't want to see in
the first round. I don't think the Broncos on any
part of Buffalo and Baltimore in the opening round having
to go there. I do think that playing a Pittsburgh
or a Kansas City, I think they match up well
with them.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
And of course the Texans the Giants step back this year. Yeah, yeah,
they no, right, I agree with you.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
I think we do match up well, and I know
the team has confidence against the Chiefs because.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
We had basically had them how to beat at home.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Now, if you're going to Kansas City, I'm sorry. When
when Kansas City comes here for the last game of
the season, and if they're playing their players, now, I think, well,
which I think it's a small, small chance, but yeah,
I doubt.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
That they will be.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
But if they are playing their players, and if they're
for real, I think that they're going to be much
tougher in that game.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Well, yeah, I mean I know as well, I do too, Yeah,
I mean play the more you play a team, the
more you get to know a team.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
And uh, and that's sort of the thing.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
You notice that scores tend to come down the more
times you play somebody because you kind of got to
figured out what they're going to do and how to.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Defend that and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Does that play in the Broncos hands at all, having
ostensibly a superior defense.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
I think so. But but the kid City's they got
a great defense too. Yeah. The death isn't no slouch.
I'm just saying it's to me, it's.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
One of those things where I'm like, Okay, you know,
if we if we can kind of uh as we
get closer and closer.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
In Kansas City keeps winning on the luckiest man, I
was out of the chargers. I was out of chargers
and then Boyd Kim said They're like, oh but you can't. Yeah,
and you gotta be getting win in Yeah, how many
times that happen.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
But Broncos fans should kind of know what that feels
like because in the rounds of Super Bowl fifty, a
lot of the ball bouncing our way.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I remember we were in the Super Bowl. I thought
it was a flag that the referee through a flag.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
I thought it was on Ray Crockett and magically he
picked the flag up.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
No, no penalty. Yeah, like oh man, Like bro, this
is ourday. Uh huh, you're get ready, you're getting ready
to do the yelling and things. Oh no, no, no,
no no. I mean, you know, quarterbacks have a tough job.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
So you know, speaking of tough jobs, Riley Moss, we
saw how valuable he is this team watching the watching
that Cleveland game, and hats off to Jerry Judy. I
had a chance to really talk to you about that.
It took my hatch off to Jerry Judy. I mean
he came in and walked and walked the walk after
talking that mess. He had to carry that l a
on the way home. But but you know, at the
same time, I mean he did talk, talk that noise.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
He backed it up.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Riley Moss probably out for this game against the colt
as a matter of fact, probably not back toil Cincinnati
as we look at this, probably gonna be Chris Abrams
drain out there.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Mass Joseph has a reluctance to to star rookies.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
But uh, it's the next man up, and he's the
next man up, and uh is he ready to step
into that role?

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Hey? You you pretty much got to be.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
And uh, you never really know until you put a
guy in in those tough situations where everybody knows he's
the starter going into the game. And I gotta be honest,
I was totally surprised by, you know, Jerry Junie's production
against Levi Wallace.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I thought, I thought, I still think by Wallace is
a good cornerback. He's done have long speed anymore.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Like if you're down in the red zone or you
play a zone, Levi Wallace is all right, But between
the twenties, man, that's like asking him right edwards and
you to get in a foot race again, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
It'd it close until it started exactly.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
You know, I'm with all due respect to Levi who's
had a great career, he just does not have the
long speed to be able. And it looked like but
the thing is, as you get older in your.

Speaker 6 (13:43):
Career, you don't have to be as sad because you're
smarter in most cases.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
But in this particular case, I caught him making mistakes.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
I mean, you can't have the trail technique mentality if
you don't have the ketchup speed to play trail technique.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I think he was he was
doing a little squatting thinking that he was going to
run a short route or ross and row wooding.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
On the brain. He was peeking back at the quarterback
to watching. Jerry was like, see you it was, Yeah,
it was. It happens. It happens, you know. I mean
some you have bad games, man, that's the part of it.
But I hope he can pick it back up because
we're going to still need him. Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
And and some of the things that that he either
were on him in a musing air quotes in the
studio weren't necessarily all the I mean, Levi Wallace was
the you know, it was the punching bag for that game,
but not everything was uh not everything was on Levi Wallace.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Uh, that was in that game.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
And there were there were a couple of blowing coverages
where the safety help over the top.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Was supposed to be there wasn't there. It was somewhere else.
You know. There were there were some there was.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Some news communications there and uh, those are some things
that they need to get worked out. Whoever's over there,
whether it's Riley Waws or Abrams Train or Levy Wallace
or whomever. You know, Wallace Wallace is going to bear
the brunt of people's dissatisfaction because he was lined up
on Jerry Judy's things were happening. But there were a
lot of times there, I say a lot of There
were several plays that were not necessarily his totally his.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Yeah, I mean, no game is when players fought, I
mean seldom every time. Then god, man that one played. Man,
you got us with that one.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Yeah, I mean if I was out there then it
would you know, it would definitely be my fault. But
otherwise it's you know, it's a team game. So that's
man five six, sixth Texas line. You guys want to
get in uh.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
In the conversation, the seven five seven says the past
of the super Bowl requires being the sixth seed, So
I guess instead of the seventh maybe says past to
the super Bowl requids being the sixth seed sweep the
rest of the season and we are super Bowl bound.
That's certainly some optimism. Sixth seed would would put you
up against either Pittsburgh. Yeah, put you up against Pittsburgh.

(15:44):
I do believe if the season were to end today,
which I do believe is a better matchup for the Broncos.
And honestly, I think the NFL is kind of rooting
for that, finally getting the Russell Wilson revenge game after
Russ has come in and played the way he's played
in Pittsburgh this year, They've been good. Russell Wilson has
played well in Pittsburgh this year. He's got twelve touchdowns,

(16:04):
only three interceptions.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
The sack percentage, while still high, is down from what
it was last year.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Uh, he's six and one as a starter.

Speaker 6 (16:12):
They're playing well, and they got they got the run
game one, which almost any team if you could get
the run game going, your quarterback usually can play halfway
decent because it's not so much pressure on him.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Right They've they've brought justin fields in for some rushing
packages and stuff like that, but largely it's uh, they
turned that thing back over to to Russ and and
kind of let him do his thing. And Yeah, he's
six and one as a starter. I mean, he's he's
bawling right now. It looks it's interesting because you watch
you watch his body language out there on the field,
and he's a totally different guy than he was here,

(16:47):
whether that's him, whether that's him and coaching, whatever that
is he is.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
If he's he's got his confidence. Bay, he's got comms back,
he's rejuvenated to play.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
And it's tough to have your confidence when you're losing
and you know people are blaming you for the law,
you know, some of the blame for for some of
the losses in that. So you know, he's in a
good spot. Yeah, And you know, I think I think
most people are happy for I'm happy for him. Yeah,
I'm hapy for him too. I don't have I don't
have any animosity for Russell Wilson.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
There are some fans out there that are mad and
all that kind of stuff that it didn't work out
here and everything. But I don't understand how you could
be mad at it not working out if you're happy
that bo Nix is working out, because one can't happen
without the other.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, and right now bo Nix is a lot less expensive. Yeah, well,
I mean you're paying both, but I.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
I mean, yes, he's expensive, sus which you know, the
back half of that deal come off the books next year.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
You have that coming on next year that they will
come off the books.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Then you'd be good to go, and you'll you'll get
two years of uh super cost control Bonnix and then
you'll get another year of semi cost control Bonnicks on
a fifth year option before you really got to pay
him and all that kind of stuff. So Broccles have
a little window here, but just looks like, you know, this,
this this this last four games of this season, starting
with a Colts game that I think is tougher than
we than we think it looks like.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
It could be. So this is this is kind of
a chance for Sean Payton to.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Really make a legacy move here and in getting a
team to the playoffs that nobody thought was gonna get
there with a quarterback. They laughed at him when they
when he drafted him. Oh man, it was it was
social media was was ruthless. The next thing is like
it's like when you look at film, he did it
in college. I mean, but there's there's a lot of

(18:33):
guys that did stuff in college into anything the proms mean,
case Canum did.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
It in college and who knows if you did me God,
you obviously have a chance to write and I'm with
you on that. You know, you can't just say this
guy is going to be terrible without.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
I'm with you on that, and that that part of it,
like you know, I kind of knew they were taking bow,
you know that that part of it, but I was like,
I don't know what he's going to be, but there's
something to be said for. And we can get into
this on the other side here at a minute. It's
interesting because the pendulum has swung back.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
The other way.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
For a while there it was you wanted a senior,
You wanted a quarterback who've been there and done that,
you know, so you drafted somebody like that.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Then it was, oh, we want these young guys who
are twenty twenty one, twenty.

Speaker 6 (19:12):
Two, but most of the US don't have the patients
to develop as exactly it because the pendulum swum back
the other way now and now they want these guys
who have been in school for a long.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Time, gotten their reps, gotten the snaps and all that
kind of stuff, and then they can come in and teach.
And so it's it's fascinating how the pendulum has swung
back the other way. Might have played in a Bonus's favor.
We'll get into that when we come back. This Isle, Broncos,
Country Night, Ring Around.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Getaway, Hall of Fame, Hairzact Seekerspector. I'll take it. I'm
a jealous mare we go where we go?

Speaker 4 (19:43):
But fair five six, six, nine zeros in texts, I
did get a text in here that I wanted to
read for the seven one four He says, I'm beating
a dead horse from yesterday.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Nick Ferguson saying.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
Rushing touchdowns should not count toward a quarterbacks Heisman candidacy
is like saying interceptions shouldn't count for pass rushers. So Nick,
then needo six six shouldn't account ard his potential defensive
player of the year.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Then, right, what does Steve say?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Well, I think to catch you up on this, we
had a little the Heisman finalist were announced and to
nobody surprised, Travis Hunter, nation genty, we're in that foursome,
Dylan Gabriel cam Ward though to me, like, I don't know,
Like we're just putting quarterbacks in there just to put
him in there. At this point, my guy Brice a
day the quarterback and Army did not get Heisman finalis
despite the fact that he's got as many as many
rushing touchdowns as Antie Ashton Janty, despite playing two fewer games.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
How many yards as yeah yards wise, he's got fifteen
hundred rushing or chance. He's got twenty two, but he's
two less games, so he would probably.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Be at like eighteen hundred nineteen hundred free of the
same amount of games, So he'd be about.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Three hundred off if he might as a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Also has eight passing touchdowns uh and uh and only
one interception. Those numbers would be better than Eric Crouch's
numbers when he won.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
The Heisman back in two thousand and point. Wait wait,
so he had. He has more passing yards than crowdbly
talking about over.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Total yards, he's than the Crouch. Yeah, Daily has doesn't
have to go back and look at the exact numbers,
but he's got one more passing touchdown and nine fewer
interceptions than Crouch had.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
He also has ten twelve more rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
Oh no, no, no, I'm talking about how many passing
Where is he able passing yards?

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Well, he's got nine hundred on the season, so much
that come on, man, He's a flexbone quarterback.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
That's gonna call them flex myone quarterback he's hardly been
in the Heisman is a flexbone quarterback.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Apparently those quarterbacks the man taking no respect the quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
If you can't pass that ball. I don't even want
to see you, bro. He can't pass the ball like
two for eight hundred yards he's did in high school.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
They just didn't what two games, but they like they
didn't ask him to pass away get eight touchdowns to
one point.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
What that costs, That's what that was gonna cost him.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
I'm just saying, like Crouch had seven touchdowns, ten interceptions.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
The year that he won the Heisman, he was an
option quarterback. Down he had seven touchdowns, ten picks. That's
what year he won the highs Now he had eighteen
rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
You know, but Bryce knew twenty nine rushing touchdowns twenty
nine Bison Daily led the n CUAA and rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
That's a lot as a quarterback, that's a lot.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
But in two fewer games and danty quarterbacks as a quarterback,
especially in today's day, today's time, when nobody, I ain't
gonna say you nobody, man, that's a lot of people
don't care about the runt.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's a bull then you know it. People want to
see the show. They want to see the d pass.
They want to every time. They want to see all
the boat makes the marvel Man, that's what they want
to see. Man, get out of here.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
This guy had fourteen hundred and eighty yards. He's gonna
he's gonna play the Nations. He's gona pass fifte hundred
rushing yards. He average on hundred and thirty five rushing
yards a.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Game as a quarterback. Yeah, the quarterback here was one
hundred and.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Twenty five rushing yards a game, twenty nine rushing We're
going to do that NFL wherever they where.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Do they want to go?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Put him in and running back in the NFL. I'm
just saying, you think he'd be as good a wold be.
He will, probably wouldn't be a he'd be a totally
different guy.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Has a him back. Sean Paygon loved that takes some
hill stuff. That's a good point. Hey, I'm just saying, hey,
he's still playing, still play right now?

Speaker 4 (23:07):
He say, like, you know, I mean, you know he
had u he had nine hundred yards last year and
he one hundred and seventyeven passing yards this year. We'll
get over nine hundred after the after the Army Navy game,
eight touchdowns to.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
One pick, Like, it don't get much better than that.
Come on, man, they asked him to throw seventy eight
times on the season. Come on, man, come on, I'm
just saying.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
Ashton Chanty gets it for twenty nine touchdowns. Why cam'p
rice and Daily be in the conversation for twenty nine touchdowns?
Because everybody knows as gents is getting the ball. He's
a running back, he's a target. Telling me that people
play our team and don't know quarterback is getting the ball.
Come on, it's this a quarterback in the fallback. I know,

(23:50):
I know, but come on, man, I'm just saying like
it's saying like it's I don't even you guys are
killing me with this.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
How big of a guys is in what was the size?
Six foot two twenty Yeah, I'm saying in case you know,
that's what he is.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
He's a running back and sometimes throws the ball. Yeah,
he's a hybrid. I'm just saying sixty twenty many it's
it's gonna sat for a running back. Yeah, I'm just
trut for running back. Right, that's two twenties. Is the
is Sean Payton's size too? You know, I'm just saying
so it's like it's it's funny because it's a. It's
a two man show.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
He got him and Kanye Youdo. It was a running back.
It was the running back. I say running back, he's
a fullback. Uh, they're at They're at Army, and.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
It's it's a two man show. And he's bigger than
the fallback. The fall back six foot two fifteen. But
let's keep it eye, let's keep it real. Don't dam
keep it real. Just keep you real. The man had
twenty nine. Well that's before we get to the schedule.
It was just as you are biased.

Speaker 4 (24:50):
No, you are biased. I would say the same if
it was Navy's quarterback. I would say the same if
it was Nebraska's quarterback. I would say the same thing.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
You wouldn't because I said, you.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
Basically put your life on the line, and the same
thing happened happens with those guys from Army.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Yeah, but it's I mean he's doing man, you have
a deeper connection with them. I want them to win.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
I know you do.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
I think of the playoffs. You want him to win.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
I want him to the Heisman on accomplishment though like
it's not it's not it's not me making off up here.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
The n C double A.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
I didn't rushing touchdown, ditch, He's going to be the guy.
He's gonna lead when it all said and done.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
He's gonna have more rushing touchdowns than anybody in college football.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
And didn't even get on the on the ballot. Do
you think you get drafted?

Speaker 4 (25:42):
There a good chance Day three picks somebody takes him
as a you know, a as a hybrid joker running back, receiver,
quarter you know, emergency goal line quarterback kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Or running back. Yeah, that's what saying. Running back. What
kind of speed does that?

Speaker 4 (25:55):
I mean enough that he scored twenty nine washing touchdown.
No no, no, no, no, no, no no, I mean
he's what I'm talking about. Yeah, I mean, look that's
your speed.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Answer.

Speaker 8 (26:07):
By the way, oh my god, forty No no no, no, no,
no no no, he's.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Fashion than that. Fashion.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
No, I'm sorry, I'm mean to for eight. I mean
he's like he's like, legit, four six, Okay, that's what
I want. So I'm just saying, like, that's what he is, Like,
he's for six. I think, uh, the junior day or
whatever he did, uh thirty two inch vertical four six
forty you know, I don't remember what the bench presses
were but yeah, okay, a matter of fact, it is. Okay, Yeah,

(26:43):
at his high school when he was doing the high
school combine before he went to Army, he did four
six five thirty two inch vertical bench to eighty five
and four forty five.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
On the squad. Okay, all right, yeah, that's it. It's
not right. It's not like running back though, full bag.
So break up to make him. You can make him
the Taysom Hill type guy. Yeah, you know in the NFL. Yeah,
and he a little bit. Let's him say it.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
He's got a little bit of he got a little
bit of all that kind of stuff. You know, you
can you can keep keep bowing up.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Speaking of t Bow Anthony Richardson, who the Broncos had
taken on with the Colts as well. Yeah, got a
completion percentage rival in Tim Tebow. There have you seen this?
Oh no, he's passing like forty He's in the NFL
and he's passing forty seven percent on the season. But at.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Okay, so he's not doing as well as some of
the other younger I thought he was doing well.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Now he got benched for Flacco for a minute. That
was because he tapped out. Well that too, but like dude,
he can't tap out again. I still never saw anything
that hilarious. Richard said, by the way, sixty four two
forty four. But uh yeah, he's in a basketball again.
I ain't come get me.

Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yeah, Richardson, Richardson, he's played a lot better since he
got mentioned and came back, just like Bryce Young.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Well, this guy got mentioned, came back and just started
to be said for that.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Maybe maybe he putting the pause button on some of
these young kids them collect themselves where we put him
BA out there. But Anthony Richardson through nine games has
a forty seven point four completion percentage this year, uh
seven touchdowns to nine interceptions, but he leads the NFL
and yards per completion. So basically he had hit anything
the deep ball. Yeah, yeah, boy, you know anything the

(28:20):
deep balls. He just hit leap shots all game. And
to be fair, they've got the receiving core that you
could do that with. You know, you got Alex Pearce,
who's's fast. You got Josh Downs, Michael Pipman, you got
guys that can do that. But to me, I mean
it's just it's it's the funniest thing looking at this
because you're like, well, wait a minute, this guy can't
hit the broad. He couldn't have water if he fell
out of a boat. He's got what, won two games

(28:41):
above fifty percent passing this year, one of which was
the three of four for seventy one yards a game.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
He went three or four for seventy one yards and
they won.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Well, that molds well for us. So that's what I'm saying, Like,
it's he's not He's not exactly U light in the
world on fire with his with his as now he
runs the ball a little bit.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
He's good for about forty fifty game. But that's what
they do. It's a two bad game. What's that? Yeah,
he's six four two forty four. I mean he's like
Diet Cam. You know, Oh that's a big boy.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yeah, I mean he's with Cam was what sixty six
two sixty He's like die Cam six six five?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Who Cam?

Speaker 4 (29:17):
He's six six? He claimed six six. He might have
been six y five. Okay, the goofy hat he might
be sixty six. I'm talking about the goofy hats he
was MC Cam's stopped. Look, I'm just saying I hit
the player at the game. But yeah, you got it's
a it's a two man run game with him and
Jonathan Taylor, who's uh oh yeah, you know, it's real deal.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, it's real deal. And so that's what they do.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
They ball control it. They do like that, and then
they'll they'll try to pick their their poison in terms
of where it is that they uh that they throw
the ball. Josh Downs is arguably their most efficient weapon.
H Michael Pittman has been uh uh has been another
guy who's who's kind of been there, uh, the most
part of the receiving game. And then the deep shot
to Alec Pierce, who leads the NFL in yards per reception.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Alex peers twenty two point two yards per exception in
this NFL. That's crazy. How many catches.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Uh, he's got fifty four targets on the season for
twenty nine catches.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Ye, that's that's a lot. Twenty two point two is wow.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
Ridiculous as rich, Yeah, that's his average, twenty two point two.
In the eighties, when you were throwing go balls, you know,
like that would have been that would that still would
have been high.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, But it's.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Today game where you got guys numbing diamond down the field,
and you got a guy who's not just gaveraging a
first down every time he touches the ball.

Speaker 9 (30:30):
Squad on him, dude, that's quad on Piers. He said, Yeah,
he's six three to eleven and he can fly. Dang,
he can fly three to eleven. That's pretty big too,
especially for his speed. Yeah, he's a fast white dude.
I'm just saying, wow, he is a he's a fast dude.
I'm trying to remember what his forty time was off

(30:52):
the combine. I remember it's like.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Four four one. I think.

Speaker 6 (30:54):
I'm telling you, man, anybody has play sports knows that
you can't say somebody is slower fast based on your race.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Well, no, but that's what we do.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
That whether when you do the Riley Boss jokes on
this on the show all the time. I really Pierce
the cold ass is a cold ass white dude. You
just say, I'm like, bro, I'm playing with some guys
over there.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
I'm like, man, sure, yeah, it was fast, talking about
like yeah four three far fast. Yeah, it's it's and
that's hot. And that's a whole other level of speed too.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
When you see like a being on the field and
you see four three four four speed in real life?
Actory that is a whole other because you got the dudes,
oh it's four four hu now you were you know,
it's like like a high school you know, I was
four six, there's four eight, there's four six, you know
what I mean in high school were we were in
a little on the Stopwatch, but it was the thirty
eight yard dash, you know what I mean. Yeah, it's
you know, you see legit four four four three speeded

(31:41):
on the field with you and you're like, oh that
that's that is a whole other world.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
You can tail too.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
It is.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
And it's like you wouldn't think.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
It's that it's fractions of a second the forty yard dash,
but that half a second between uh four three and
four eight is all the difference in the world.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Heard of it? Yes, So, but Pierces is the guy
you got to you gotta be careful. That's their deep
shot guy, and that's the guy you gotta gotta be careful.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Man.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
My high school team won the championship this year.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Man.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
We go that our colors were purple and white and
our mascot was the jack rabbit.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
HM.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
So we had a bunny on the side of them.
Here's some ferocious, vicious Steve. We got the Colts in
the town. Yeah we got Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
We tried to draw a more aggressive rabbit too, because
like they was. The one they had was like just
like a cute little bunny. We tried to draw and
they're like, we're not putting it on the hell.

Speaker 10 (32:35):
I'm like, man, come on, yeah, we got a buddy
on the side of it. Come on, a cute Yeah,
they've been not fierce at all. I was just yeah, anyway,
we got Colts coming to town.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
Uh, this week's Sunday, and what you know, I know again,
I know everybody says must wing game, but this is
a must win game. How do you get a team
you're coming back off the by you got this in
front of you, but it's a young football team. How
do you get that message of lost to young guys
who don't maybe don't understand the gravity of it because
they haven't been around the league so long and been
thirsty for those those late season playoff pushes.

Speaker 11 (33:10):
Yeah, well, I'm sure some of the veterans in the room,
the Courland Suddens Bowles, the Garrett Bowles, those guys know
the importance of the moment and how quickly the moment
can be gone, and every opportunity you have you have
to take advantage of because you never know when you're
going to be back here again, right, I mean, yeah, hopefully.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
I mean, guys expect that though the league getting that
you probably come from a successful college program.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
When the veteran shares the experiences with I thought, you know,
the first year I got here, we did good, and
then we haven't really gotten back to that point.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Now we're here, we.

Speaker 6 (33:51):
Got to make sure because we don't know that this
made me their last season. You know, you never know,
I mean for each guy, you never know how long
your career is going to be. So you got to
take every moment super seriously and and and just know
that you got to give it your all, man, and
you got to be all in, uh in terms of

(34:12):
knowing your responsibilities and effort and taking care of your body.
You know, you got to be on point now this
and now you you should have been on point all
season long, but now it's super important.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah, you gotta turning out all the distractions, be dialed in.
This is this is what you're here for.

Speaker 6 (34:28):
And again the events are going to have to get
that point across, like I said, because you know a
lot of those guys and the like, Yeah, I got
my first year.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
I probably gonna play ten years in the league, and uh,
I'm get it this year. I'll get it. You know,
you can't have them in, you can have them in
out it because you may not get back Steve before.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
I get you out of here. Looking at one of
our listeners, got some trivia here. Who your first and
who your last interceptions?

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Word? Man, you never have no idea.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Your first one someone that I remember was against the Raiders.
All right, your last interception against the it was a
Hall of fame quarterback. Oh man, Dan Marino.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
No way, Yeah, your last interception was apparently against Dan
one time. That's when we played them, played them were here.
I guess this is one of our people of the
we're here in Denver.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
He had such a quick release, and I never every
time he throwed the bob put my hands up.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
And it's like that.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
It's well, he said, Yeah, you had the interceptions against
Warren Moon, Jim Kelly Troy, remember that far, But Dan
Marino was the final final interception of your career.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
So yeah, that was some cool trivia.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
I appreciate you coming in here, Steve, looking for this
victory against the Colts.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
I'll see we move down at the stadium on Sunday one.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
I love seeing you and nickup on the big screen
to one of these days, I'm gonna sneak down there
a photobo and both of you. I'm just gonna get
in there and there make the three of them get
down there. We'll make it fun. Brother, Broncos Country Night
back after this
