Speaker 1 (00:02):
Carry the g Radio, coming to you live on a
Tuesday afternoon, as we do each and every Tuesday, myself
Aaron n Agler coming to you live from New York City,
while Bill Schmid and Arman throw it down there in Milwaukee.
I gotta be honest, guys, you know, the two of you, both,
Bill Armon, both of you radio professionals. You know, real

(00:23):
true grizzled veterans of these radio waves. Man. I don't know, man,
these these you know, late playoff games and then you know,
maybe some celebratory moments afterwards that stretch into the evening,
late into the boys. I got home at like three
last year. I was out in the village watching the Brewers,

(00:46):
got home late. I gotta be on. I'm a little
slow today. I'm dragging a little bit.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You're feeling it a little bit.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
You feel just a little bit. You can't run like
I used to feel it, can't run like.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Us we chose.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
I think that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, And guys, I'll be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
It was the realization that your boy bought the twenty
ouncers yesterday. And then all of a sudden, I'm sitting
there like, why have you two beers? Am I starting
to feel like I maybe shouldn't hold off on having
a third or mixing a water before the third. Then
I realized that you're actually probably like four in more
than anything. And then yeah, they had to mix in
the water, had to grab the liquid. IV you start

(01:24):
learning some of these tricks of the trade, but eight
to eight first pitches are not for the faint of heart.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh it's why, Nags.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
I've discussed it a lot of different times, and you
and I have had this conversation and we've laughed a
number of ways about it. Is like we build and
America crafts the schedule around you guys over in the
Eastern time zone, right, you could really call Eastern Standard
Time American time because all the you know, stocks open

(01:51):
and clothes on that time. Anything you see on any
television station, the time is set at Eastern time. But
that's gotta be the worst time to be watching sports.
When kickoff for Monday Night football is past nine o'clock,
your boy's not seeing any of those second halfs, let
alone the second quarter. And I give you massive props
for not only hanging through every bit of that game.

(02:13):
When the Brewers retired last fifteen guys, but then also
having a couple of celebratory cold ones that I can
only imagine were maybe thicker than the ones when you
were enjoying the first inning.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
They were flowing. Let's say that they were flowing. And
my buddy Legit, who I was out with last night,
texting me right before we got on the errands, and
the only text was the shots. Why did I do
the shots? And you know, it's like, it's a home run,
you do Shit, HiT's a home run, you do the shots.
That's what we were doing. You know, don't expect the
Brewers to hit so many home runs. But hey, I'm

(02:47):
happy for it.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I guess, yeah, it's good that they did, right.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
I'm very happy about it. I'm very happy about it.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
It really is Nags the one time though that like
I've felt it, and I don't know if you felt
it as well. On the Twitter sphere and our YouTube
chet could probably validate some of it, Like the amount
of people that I've gotten to know online and you know,
been able to read and get tweets for and then
start following so many more, like strictly cheeseheads, strictly packers backers.

(03:17):
I thought we're all Brewers last night, like it felt
like there's a bunch that are kind of jumping on
the bandwagon.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I'm like, this is fun.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm gonna I'm gonna be a fan of this.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I want that to happen because it feels like then
we're all winning at that point.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I mean, especially when you're going against the Cubs, right,
you can just it's easy.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
It's easy if.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
You're a Packers fan to get into the mode of, oh,
is that a professional sports franchise that represents the Chicago area. Well, yeah,
screw them, go Brewers must It's pretty simple.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And playoff baseball with the ebbs and flows and the
momentum shifts. The closest that baseball ever gets to the
necessity of every play, every down, every pitch like the
NFL does with the scarcity of it.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Man and spayh like, you know, we know, we know
this is a carry the g program. We were talking
about the Packers. We will talk about the Packers, of course.
And you talk about being excited, Billy, I'm excited that
Christian Watson is out there practicing. That was the big
headline coming out of yesterday's endeavors there in the Green
Bay area. Where not only is Christian Watson opening up
that twenty one day window where he can now you know,

(04:23):
get out there and actually practice. You saw him all
throughout training camp doing the post practice workout stuff, but
now he's actually practicing with the team and they have
twenty one days to activate him to the fifty three
man roster. I'm excited, Billy. And it's not just because oh,
he go fast, right, I know everyone talks about his
speed or whatever, but it's the way he plays the

(04:43):
game and the way the offense operates when he's out
there that gets me so excited. Because he doesn't necessarily
need to get the football. His gravitational pull changes how
defenses play the Packers offense, and it does open up
things in a lot of different ways. So, man, just
the idea of getting him out there is really exciting.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Niggs and I also think one of the other massive
parts of it, and when the news kind of first
came down, Armin and I discussed it yesterday, I think
he's their best outside blocker right, like outside of outside
of Tucker Craft and you know, Ben Simms guy still
hanging in there and active for a couple of games.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Let's give some credit to eighty nine.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
But like he is their best outside blocker, and I
would anticipate the run game picks up a little bit
more with nine in the mix, because you definitely do
have to pull safeties back a tick.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
That's a that's a part of it.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
But also his ability to crack back on linebackers, stick
on nickelbacks on the outside, and then climb to safeties.
It's one of the reasons why the Packers liked them
coming out, why he was probably more targeted by teams
of the Lafleur Shanahan McVeigh now Collen and have the
league bilk right that three in that style of play,

(05:59):
because how much they count on players on the outside
being able to block for everything to look the same
and have a lot of mirrored concepts. He's big time
for them to have. And also I think culture wise
gets missed on how important he is to the fifty
three that you were just.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Explaining with the glue. Yeah. And the thing too is
think about anybody in this league who plays the wide
receiver position and what happens when they go through a
stretch kind of like Christian did at the start of
last season, where a lot of excitement, right, new season,
and then you get through like the first I think
it was for it got hurt in the Vikings game, right,
so that's like week four, whatever it was. But he

(06:37):
goes to that first kind of stretch of the season
where he's not getting a ton of targets, he's not
getting a ton of opportunities. Not one time did he grouse,
Not one time did he complain. Not one time did
he even like, no cryptic social media posts, no veiled
stuff in the locker room. It was all just I'm
gonna do my job week in and week out. I'm

(06:58):
my kick ass on the perimeter in the block and game.
If the ball comes my way, great, I'm gonna catch it.
But man, just a consummate professional, and I do think
as frustrating as the injuries have certainly been, that's a
part of the reason the Packers gave him that one
year extension. Yep, they're very excited about the idea of Okay,
let's get him on the field for the remainder of

(07:20):
this season and let him ball out.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
You know, the original I was talking a billy about this,
the original illusion of complexity stuff that if you remember
that Lafleur was talking about years ago. It seemed like
he was really the first to make that, to manifest
that in the field in terms of what they could
do with holding linebackers in safety's eyes, with motions, with
fake jet sweeps. Obviously the one I remember, he was

(07:43):
like the first guy, you know, that one that came
open against Chicago's in Chicago, the one that scored. He
was the original illusion of complexity guy. And we always
see this reams of data that will show that the
Packers offense as a hole is markedly better EPA and
all these things.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
When he's on the field, they score five points more
a game.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
It's crazy to think about that's just numbers. So we
foc his numbers. We focus so much on counting stats,
and it's like it's easy to forget a receiver if
he doesn't have ten catches a game, you know, and say.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
What has he done?

Speaker 4 (08:12):
But you see those those different level of analytics that
really show you, well, this is the type of impact
he can have in the field.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
And I can't wait you talk about impact. I cannot wait.
And I've done this, sir, as a coach there in
the old Madden Sphere online against the opponents. You start
getting Watson and Golden on the field.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Together, yeah, dangerous.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Oh my goodness, you can really start cooking with gas.
I mean, I've torched some fools with this stuff, and
I can't wait to see what La Flora dreams up.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Especially if Golden is going to be a gotta have
it down possession guy that I didn't anticipate he would be.
We talked about it before the bye after the Dallas game.
Nags of like him having the fourth down reception in
the primary target that was also a spot where Watson was. Yes,
he's the burner down the field guy, but he with

(09:00):
that frame became one of their layup throws when you
need a third and six.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
We believe that we can get him the football.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
It also makes for a very very interesting run for
Romeo Dobbs, right, like I mean, and Dontavian Wicks. We've
it was glorified the night that they were all drafted together,
Him and Dobbs and Jordan's gonna start And I remember,
you know, Demosque was one of them that I remember
asking the question, but like fifteen other guys asked the

(09:28):
same question of like just in a different right in
a different way of saying it, but Rob's was the
first one of Like, is this part of it so
they can all grow together and become, you know, the
best versions of themselves together. Yeah, but it also then
needs to be replenished and socked up with. We'll know
who the number one player is and number one wide
receiver is by who gets a second contract and Watson

(09:48):
gets a version of it, But it's more of a
it's a more of a fifty year option than a
second contract. And I still think it's a battle for
both of those guys, and right now kind of a
dead he.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Keep him hungry, keep him hungry, man, as much as
you do like the way they push each other, the
way they grow together, what have you? It is you know,
competition reading competition in that room, and you draft two
guys this year, Man, they're just ain't enough for everybody,
So keep them hungry and keep them competing. That's to me.
I get that wanting to make sure that no one

(10:21):
gets comfortable in that room. And so far you know that.
I would admit, especially last year, man, things were hit
and miss. But you mentioned Dontavian Wicks. That's a guy
who doesn't get a lot of run, a lot of talk,
what have you. But he's looked really good this year
and he's come up with some significant you know, plays, gains, yards,

(10:42):
what have you. And the drops across the board seemingly
have gone away, and that, I mean, that's all you
can really ask. As far as I need this group
to clean this stuff up, well it looks like they have.
And I'm just like I said, I'm excited to see
you get Watson out there, throw him in this mix.
You're really gonna be able to start cooking.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
And you're also going to see more levels to Jordan's game,
I firmly believe. And if you're able to protect him
more and more like you did into the second half
of the Dallas game, I think you just see different
levels to it and more opportunities to try to push
the ball down the field and just be explosive because
you got too many explosive weapons out there to not.
I also am excited. I'd like to see a side

(11:24):
by side with Christian Watson weren't a Guardian Cat because
him and Save me On Williams like the size and.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
Bids, two big dudes, two big heads, and the strides
that they could be running alongside with like that is,
those are stallions right there that could be streaking down
the field.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Some great video possibilities when you think of a bouncing head,
like if they're going together like two horses down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Did you ever play? Did you ever know?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
You did?

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Nagler the NBA Jam, the arcade?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Well, of course, little code, the little code for big heads,
the big.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Heads seing it done. I did not. I did not
use it myself.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
You're a cheat code guy, Well, well he didn't help
you win.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
It just helped me play. It gave the guy's big heads.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Oh okay, so this was This wasn't in like the
fourteen ninety nine paperback book that you could get with
all the different cheat codes for every GTA in every
NBA jam.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
But you're talking about Nintendo Power. You had that subscription
Nintendo Power and yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Come on now, that was the only way that I
could win any Super Smash Bass contests.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Oh oh, where's the breaking new sound, breaking sound, breaking
new sound. Let's go, yeah, breaking new here that radio
breaking news.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I wasn't ready for this. Oh arman, arman, here we go,
here we go, here we go.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Hmm, could the Green Bay Packers face Joe Flacco for
the second time this season. Feels like a quick turnaround.
But the Bengals are indeed trading for the Cleveland Browns
quarterback Joe Flacco on his way to become a Cincinnati Bengal.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
So Dylan Gabriel was good enough, I guess.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
And it didn't look too big for him. I'll say that, Yeah,
watching that game, it didn't look too big for him.
And that's not a shot at his stature.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
No, But the sixty three college starts snags.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
You could tell, like, this guy's seen a lot of football,
it's gonna be okay for him. And when that Brown's
team has a lot of really really good young players.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
So a rookie class on both sides.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
The rookie class is feeling what was that twenty sixteen
Saints like where it's the Holy Cow? You might have
real difference makers on both sides of the ball big time,
And I make it makes a ton of sense why they.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Would want to go young. It also makes a lot.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Of sense why the Bengals don't want to be as
futrid as they looked with Jake Brown in the last
couple of weeks. I mean, like you want to talk
about lifeless efforts. When you have more penalties than first
downs on Monday night football, a change is probably gonna
be necessary. And they they aren't gonna fire the coach,
right like, I don't believe they're firing the head coach.
I don't believe they're firing the GM. So they had

(14:05):
to do something to say, wait, Stefan, we got Jamar Chase,
who can still light up anybody if you throw the
ball down the field, and T Higgins can catch any
contested ball over the middle. We need somebody to bring
a little bit of confidence. And it is a quick turnaround.
I'd be surprised if he's not starting on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, that's the thing too, Like given what we've seen
in recent kind of vintage here with what Baker Mayfield
showed up the Rams on a two days Wednesday and
a couple days later on a Thursday night, was starting
so possibility, right, especially if possibility Niggs.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
He's a forty one year old, right, like, I mean,
Flacco has seen everything. He knows all of it, and
just give him a little bit of the understanding of
what the concepts are. And hey, one in five when
they're open, throw it to them. Sweet sounds good. I'll
do that as many times as possible.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
I'll tell you what though, this puts the onus back
on that defensive front. It was already there obviously, but
was really hoping they could feast on some Browning interceptions
the way the last couple teams have that have faced
the Bengals. But it's not like Joe Flacco hasn't been
known to give you a few.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yes, he's going to give you opportunities. He's going to
give you a chance.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
So that you got to catch him. They're going to
get thrown to you at some point. You've got to
make sure you hold onto the ball and those opportunities
are going to be there.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Yeah, Instead Naggs, the one time that he gave you
an opportunity in the Cleveland should have.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Batted it down.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
So for a team that is desperately needing turnovers, I
was with you. It felt like Browning was going to
give you multiple opportunities. Flacco will throw you a couple.
He'll throw you a couple of opportunities. But that offensive
line there in Cincinnati also bad.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Like I mean, Ted carri is a good.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Players as a center for them, but otherwise they are
very gettable and one that out of the by, and
I know we're going to talk a lot about it
throughout the show. Out of the by finding more ways
to yes, bringing pressure with four is how you consistently
win in this game. But when Jeff Haffley made so
much of his bacon a year ago on bringing exotic

(16:09):
blitzes and bringing some interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Heat pressures too, like not bringing huge numbers. Yeah, just
given the quarterback lots to think about. At the snap
of the ball.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
I anticipate you see a number of those coming up
out of the by, and I think you see a
little bit more of that being unleashed as we continue
to roll into October.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
I want to give a shout out to uh Josh
on the chi said TV YouTube chat who asks second
time ever going to Lambeau. I live in Maryland, going
with my best friend who is a Bengals fan. Ugh,
so do we just post up at lot one? It's
not a bad not a bad approach, not a bad
approach at all. Lot one. You will find a party,

(16:46):
You will find people that you can hang out with.
They'll have food, there will be beer because the area
got definitely shot. Skis involved in the Lot one proceedings,
no question about it. It's my favorite pregame. So there's
no doubt that if you go post up at Lot one,
you will find a party.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
The true DNA, the true DNA though Lambeau like is
you could be anywhere like that's that's kind of like,
yea do post a Lot one.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
I'm like may although I will say though they've started,
the packers themselves have kind of started divvying up the
kind of I don't know, the A and the B side,
Like they want you over by Title Town. They want
you over by you know, the brewery and the big
hill and all the stuff that's on off or over there.
I've spoken to a couple of folks on the other side,

(17:35):
you know, some of the bar owners and what have you,
hotel people, and they're like, you know, Packers, remember when
they used to have their kickoff, the big kickoff concert
ods right by O Night the street, And now they
hold it on the other sides because they want everyone
over there. So I'm old school. I love Lot one.
You can't go wrong.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
And also I would just suggest getting one of like
the styrofoam coolers at your local ivy or shop, go
and just walk around with that, because that's knowing you're
there to party. I think that's that's signaling I'm not
bringing any of these in, so we're finishing this in the.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Park, finishing before.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yes, but that's that's a statement.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
I think you're also just as likely to have a
great time though, parking on somebody's lawn, you know, randomly,
and getting into their garage and then all of a
sudden there's like fifty people there having a party. There
are so many moments like that in my experience at
Lambeo that that kind of is my point. It's like,
that sounds like a great idea, but I think you're
just as likely to have a great time wherever you

(18:36):
end up parking and walking and hanging out.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Dude, there's a house down from Corey's on Shadow Lane
that legit. Every Packers game, they have a sign that
says fifty dollars parking party included. They like, it's like legit.
You just roll up park and then start drinking their beer.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
It's always good when they say, hey, you can use
our grill, right, Like the grill is going to be on.
We know you brought meat. You don't have a place
to cook the sausages. We got a chance for you.
We come right over here. We gotta fired up. It's
on a medium heat, so don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Don't don't.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Don't cook them too long, flip them over every couple
of minutes, but I do. You're gonna get a very
good communal experience, and one that frankly, as I was
able to walk around just a tick before the night game,
the Washington game place was up, the parking lots were
up for grabs. I got a feeling after a month away,
Oh my gosh, and what could be another picture perfect

(19:27):
afternoon in Green Bay. I think the tailgate scene is
gonna be dangerously fun coming.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Up on Sunday. No no issues on this Sunday. People
so excited to get back to Lambeau. I can't wait
to be in the area because I'm gonna be there, Buddy,
I'm gonna be in Green Bay this weekend.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Right, You're coming to the city.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
That's right, man. Now, wait, don't forget Haggingmeister Park in
downtown Green Bay on Saturday for the Cheese at TV
meet up at five pm. That's gonna be a ball.
We're gonna be drinking, carry the g We're gonna be
talking a ball talking Packers and look now this game.
I mean, poor Jeff Hafley spent the whole bye week
getting ready gin and up stuff for Browning, and now

(20:08):
he gets to go back into the notebook and go, okay, well,
we're all the flack liut tendencies. We wanted to go
back and look at those notes. Keep it interesting. I
like it.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
We got one text that's already saying all I want
to know. All I want to say is Billy stops
saying the Packers are going to beat the brakes off
of a certain team because then they end up losing
or tying. All right, there will be no lock certain
guarantees on a blowout victory this week.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
See, yes, that's fine, that's fine. No yet, right, Yeah,
I'm dude, fine to be confident champions, fear no one.
I got no issue. All I care about is going
want to know this week that's okay, how it happens.
I don't care if it's a blowout. I don't care
it's the last second field goal. I do not care.
Get the W.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
I want to get the W.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I also like it to look a certain way but
I also want to I want to get a W
this week because then we can be eating in w
in Arizona, and I don't know, maybe getting their head
coach would be punching players again, like like you.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Got Holy cow.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
We gotta get the frustration on the opposing sideline to
be at that level.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Every single week, we're gonna talk about everything that went
on around the NFL while the Packers are on the
bye because my goodness, there's a lot to talk about,
including your reference there. What the hell is happening in Arizona?
Oh my goodness, But I do hear the music, and
I do know we gotta go pay some bills, so
we will continue the conversation on the flip. That's Billy

(21:31):
and Orman. I'm Aaron. I Carry the G Radio on
ninety seven point three the game. Carry the G Radio
coming at you live this Tuesday afternoon. And Carry the
G is brought to you by Luigi's Frozen Pizza. Bring
back the best memories of Game Day and pizza with
one of the great Wisconsin originals. Luigi's Original Pizza is crispy,

(21:54):
thin and packed with the unforgettable flavors you know and
love made right there in Wisconsin since nineteen sixty eight.
Bring back the memories and savor the taste of game day.
Find Luigi's original in the freezer isle at your local grocer.
Luigi's Pizza. Taste the tradition. Taste it. Boys. Now I'm
hungry again.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Yeah, I need to say something, you know, fire up
one of those Luigi's pizzas here in the building, because
you just get hungry and I'm just waiting and salivating
for some Packers football. That's the one part of the
bye week that always sucks. Like there's it's good time
to be able to you know, do the family stuff
and go to the pumpkin patch and take some fall
pictures and have some apple cider donuts. And then all

(22:38):
of a sudden you're like, damn, it's fun watching the
rest of the National Football League on the couch, but
nothing like watching Packers football.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Again, it's not even close. It's not even close. And
it's I'm glad you brought up the family stuff because
let me tell you something. Let me tell you what
happened to Shane Nagler over here. So yes, Packers bye week,
perfect opportunity. By the way, schedule comes out in April. Hey,
what's Aaron doing? Where's Aaron? Gonna be great idea to
have the schedule on your phone. What my girlfriend does

(23:07):
has she knows exactly what every game is gonna hapen.
Blah blah blah. My kids not a clue, no pe
care less about the packer, no idea. So I get
all excited. I'm like, oh, it's packers by week. Let's
go upstate. We'll go to Terry Town, we'll do sleep Hollow,
We'll do the whole kind of thing. Get ready for Halloween. Tip.
The colors are starting to change up there. It's gonna
be so much fun. Dad, I have a concert on

(23:29):
Saturday night. On Sunday, we're going to this film on
the interactive thing and Matt and we don't have time,
no time, zero time for Dad. Like, oh, you're always
busy with the packers the one time I'm not one
bye week? What's a busy I'm sorry you're busy? Okay,
all right, I see how it is. One, I see

(23:49):
how it is.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah it is, there's only one by week.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
And our guy and our guy arm in here suffered
the bye week issue, where you know, you do put
together plans and sometimes you put plans out so far
in advance that like maybe maybe a Brewers playoff game
with the opportunity to be in the house. It's like
these plans have been in established for a long time.
These plans have been established for a long time. So
you're gonna you're gonna do this.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
You're gonna do the plans. Yes, you're not getting out
of it.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
Absolutely, we've been planning this because what Lauren knows the
Biewek schedule, so she she knows the schedule.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
She planned for that well, and it's good.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
It's good arming that you just run the offense right
like you're not here, you're not here just seeing seeing
the call and just changing and running your own play
at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
You believe that.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Called son Love it, absolutely love it. So yeah. The
the Joe Flacco news really interesting wrinkle here, interesting wrinkle
for a game that, no doubt, if Browning plays, I
do not doubt for a moment that the Packers kind
of dearth of turnovers suddenly changes. They say they come
in bunches, and certainly they've been coming in bunches against Browning.

(24:59):
The Flacco thing is interesting. Obviously, the Bengals offensive line.
I mean, the Cleveland offensive line wasn't anything to write
home about, but the Bengals offensive line might be worse.
And the idea that they could potentially take the same
approach that they, you know, we saw the Cowboys take
as far as get the ball out of Flaco's hands quickly.
That's a great idea and it is probably the best

(25:21):
way to approach this Packers defense. But color me dubious
that a quarterback in the building for four days is
going to be able to play at the level we
saw Dak play at two Sunday nights ago with a
couple of receivers, a bunch of skill position players that
he's got absolutely no bank reps with. That, to me,

(25:45):
is going to be hopefully an opportunity for these defensive
backs to you know, play on front foot a little bit,
break on some of these balls, get in front of
these wide receivers on some of these attempted short game
kind of shenanigans. Because if you're if you're the Bengals
at all, you have to play the short game. You

(26:05):
can't be sitting back there with statuesque Joe Flacco with
this offensive line saying, oh yeah, I want these great
wide receivers to work deep that that is just not
gonna play against his Packers defense.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
No, it probably won't.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
And the amount of opportunity that you should have to
be able to get after them, and just know that
there's only there's a limited amount of the playbook that
you're gonna be able to run, Like there's only gonna
be so much that you're gonna be able to have
in with this guy, and a little bit of familiarity
with the guys that he's throwing the football to. Now
he's a professional, right like he's been in the game
for so long. And also Flaco's one of those sneaky

(26:41):
guys that, like people love the Russell Wilson Hall of
Famer conversation, Joe Flacco's got more Hall of Fame credentials
than Russell Wilson, Like for a guy that had maybe
more to do with winning the Super Bowl than he
did a couple other different there pelts on the wall
and getting there right like at one point he was
the hottest player at the position. So there's there's a

(27:04):
reason to say, like, Okay, this gives you more of
an opportunity than Jake Brown, because I believe any opportunity,
anybody under center was going to give you a better
chance than right now.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Pulse optional, somebody, we'll see. I mean, the thing to
me is they got to get the proverbial taste out
of their mouth from some two sundays ago in Dallas.
That's what worries me.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
And I don't want to say also Cleveland with Flackel,
because he really wasn't the reason that the Packers loss
of the Browns, obviously by no wretch. It is something
that like, okay, there's something to be said for, like,
all right, here we go. Here, we've seen the same
guy that just did this to us a couple of
weeks ago, that that shouldn't have done it, and now.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
We have to go beat them.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
But what did he do? He didn't do anything, you
know what I mean, Yeah, he didn't. He didn't. I mean,
Jordan Loved threw an interception and special teams couldn't block.
That's what happened in that game, and that's the two
major reasons they lost. So I ain't worried about Joe
Flackle coming into Lambow and lighting up the Packers, but
they do have to play. I would suspect a little
bit more again on the front foot, on the defensive

(28:15):
side of the ball, rather than waiting for everything to
come to them. I don't think for a moment that
you know they're gonna just forget that Chase Higgins, all
these guys you know, can work in open space and
can really make Hay after the catch, and they're gonna
just play too deep, soft zone, et cetera. They're gonna
have to come up, they're gonna have to tackle, and
they're gonna have to disrupt and in all the things

(28:37):
we saw a you know, frustrating lack of against the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Mm hm amen, like and and to see guys that
are better at it, then I'll do it. Cavante Turpin right, like,
they're gonna be able to take advantage against you, even
Like the issue is a good player, right, Like they
have multiple dues the.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Life last week. Dude, He's yeah, he's a player. Absolutely.
I doubt.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
I'm interested to see what the ground game looks like
for Cincinnati as well, because like they tried to get
something established against Detroit this past weekend, right and I
think at one point Chase Brown had six catches for
fifteen yards, so like they were doing anything they couldn't
get him the football, but it just really wasn't working
Munch at all.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yeah, that was a That game was frustrating, I will
say though, it's also illuminating because Trey Hendrickson, he did
everything he could to try and keep the Bengals in
that game. I mean, you talk about a one man
wrecking crew. Now you talk about the Packers on offense
getting a couple guys, right, we didn't talk about that
at the top of the hour, you know, getting Aaron
Banks and Zach tomback hopefully out there on the field.

(29:42):
I know they're back at practice, but that doesn't necessarily
mean they're going to play on Sunday. Whoever's out there.
I mean, Hendrickson's a game wrecord that kid is did
I mean, that's he's a problem. He's a major problem.
And it might behoove Masters Lafleur and company to get
to their own quick game against that cat because again,

(30:02):
man one on one, I don't care if it's Walker,
I don't care if it's that Tom. He can give
you hell. And we saw it against Detroit. He created
a couple of chances for his offense. You know that
they weren't able to take advantage of. But he's a
guy who will be able to, you know, wreck the Packers' plans.
If they're not you know, completely dialed in on where
he is every down and have a plan for him

(30:24):
every down.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
They'll find a way to make his life miserable. And
I just there's a reason why the Packers were trying
to trade for Trey Hendrickson too, right, Like, I mean,
how about that news from from week one on the
pregame show, Like, very quickly it'll change, and very quickly
you'll have guys that are open and that are somewhat available,
and he's one of the three to five players at

(30:46):
that position. That changes all and you have to account
for every single snap that he's on the field, and
he's on the field pretty much every single snap.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Well, what's interesting, though, is you look at what happened
in the Cleveland game, right, and they were so worried
about Miles Garrett for good reason, But you do wonder
that they was a little overkill. I mean, they were
the very funny, if you're an impartial observer, shots of
you know, three Packers waiting for Miles Garrett while somebody

(31:15):
else gets through the line and is hitting Jordan Love.
You know, there does come a point where, Okay, yes
he is a problem, you have to focus on him.
I do think they found a good balance when they
were playing the Lions in Week one. You know that
obviously they have their own very talented at Rusher, who
the Packers did a pretty good job of negating. I'm
not gonna say they completely shut him down, but you know,

(31:36):
they had a good plan there. I just think in
Cleveland they may have they have taken for granted how
talented everybody else was on that line. Yeah, and I
do think Cincinnati's got some other parts. But yeah, he's
obviously Hendrickson being the a number one headliner that you
got to worry about.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
The other parts of the deal or the stories are
now coming out. Diana Rossini, adding some context to the
deal for Flacco go into the Bengals, reporting that the
Bengals never called the Giants about Russell Wilson or Jamis
Winston's availability. So again, I would probably have Flacco over
Russ right now. Anyway, I'm talking about right away and

(32:14):
like getting an opportunity to play right away, So like
I'm not super surprised. I just like Jameis Winston from
the Electric Factory. Yes, and I want to get rid
of him. And I don't know that I want to
get rid of him in the locker room.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
No, absolutely not. I mean he's look, he's a fun player,
right and no doubt about it. Wherever he goes that
you get heat and juice and whatever other words you
want to use. But I'm not surprised that they went
to flack O route. It's going to be fascinating to
see what the playbook looks like for the Bengals. As
far as you know, what, how much can you really

(32:46):
quote unquote install with a guy who's been in the
room for three days.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
If there will be anything that they know and anything
that you can fully get involved into and change up
in Micah Parson's finding it out on a video that
he now has another chance to get Joe Flacco on
the ground at lambeau Field.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
I like that outstanding, Like this this modern age we
live in, people just finding stuff out live in front
of our eyes.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
What a world we're living?

Speaker 1 (33:12):
What a world? What a word a world we got?
We didn't even talk about it. We got coaches punching
guys because they dropped the ball. I will say this. Okay,
I will say this about the thing that happened in Arizona.
Real quickly, kids, what are we doing with the dropping
of the football before you cross the goal line? What
is this world? How do we arrive at a spot

(33:34):
where humans are doing this on purpose? I don't get it. Now.
Should the young man be punched on the sideline? No,
of course not. But kids, what are we doing? Get
in the end zone? Then do your thing, your dance,
your spike, whatever you gotta do across the goal line.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah, I don't care if.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
I don't care if you score a touchdown of a
ten minute tea party. But get into the back of
the end zone with the football. And we're now getting
to the point where you might want to push hit
the ball on the wall outside with your hand, and
that's the only way you signify the you end up scoring.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
It's just it's mine numbing, man, It is mind numbing.
Like what, I don't I guess I'm old. I'm an
old man at this point. I guess.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Sean Jackson.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Truly, very truly, Hey, Shaun Jackson forever a shout out
for helping the Packers get in the playoffs so they
can go on and running with. That's what I'm talking about,
all right. I hear the music. I know it's time
we got a flip. So we'll talk more Packers, more
NFL everything here on Carry the G Radio. That's Billy
and armand I'm Aaron on ninety seven point three The game, man.

(34:39):
I mean, look at the Chiefs last night. Look at
the Chiefs overall this season. Season's over, it's done, they lost,
it's it's over there there, shell of themselves. And I
will say, the most interesting play of that entire game,
and not Trevor Lawrence falling down then getting back up
and running in for a touchdown, is the you know,

(35:00):
game changing play, that was the interception by your superstar quarterback. Oh,
I was told once that happened with quarterback? Does that
he's trash, like he's horrible, like you can't trust him,
and he's done, you know, clearly, just to point out that, yes,
even the greats make bad throws, sometimes bad reads, have
bad outcomes. Doesn't mean he's a terrible quarterback. No.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
And I also nags.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
I think that there's so much that gets made of
like the immediate result. And all right, now we have
to go with some kind of massive shock value as
to how this is going to damn the organization and
the team forever, right, we have to have a final
damnation on the situation at that exact moment. But they're
so good, like I mean that that you've got guys

(35:45):
who there's good teams all over the place. The NFL
is such a week to week league that you got
to bring your absolute best every single week. And I
said it a couple of weeks ago when I was joking,
not joking about it. Then I'm not joking about it now.
I'm buying all of the chief stock. So if you
want to sell it, bring it over here, because they
still might end up winning that division with what's going
on in LA with all their injuries. Denver, I still

(36:08):
think is a mixed bag. You don't know exactly what
to count of game there. That was a big character
win in Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
That's no question.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Yeah, that's absolutely true.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Billy and and and Aaron and you know, you don't
know what's going to happen, but it's it is a
good reminder that results are not promised, right even though
you have you know, you have your process in place,
you have the guys you think are made men. That
doesn't mean results are promised and that and that that
results aren't always going to be nonlinear. I think that's
a good way to look at it as well.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
One hundred percent, and that's what you should look at.
You should look at process, right because that's what it's about.
I mean, it is just funny to me to watch
everything play out over the course of the bye week,
and man, as you guys said, Billy said before the break,
it's hard. You get into that zone and that groove
of watching the Packers every week for a month, and
then they're not there and you're watching all these other

(36:59):
teams and every game I'm thinking the Packers could beat
this team. Packers have beat this team. Packers definitely beat
this team. Like I don't see a juggernaut. I don't
see a team that anyone should be afraid of. Now,
there are talented teams, there're certainly teams playing better than others.
But man, in this NFL that Roger Goodell has created

(37:20):
or helped create, man, there is no way you can
look at any given game and think, oh, that's a
cake walk. That's what we're gonna drop forty. We're gonna
like blow them out, and even when you do initially,
almost always there's that tide that kind of comes back,
and all of a sudden, there's a twenty point swing
the other way, and all of a sudden, it's a
tight game. Wait a second, I just thought it was

(37:40):
like it was seventeen nothing when I looked away, and
now it's twenty one to seventeen, And how did that happen?
Like every week, these things occur, and that's why when
everyone's talking about all the packers and these the loss
and a tie and what have you, it's like, man,
I don't care what the results are so much as
get as many wins as you can. Yes, but I
want you playing your best ball in December. I don't

(38:04):
care how it looks. And that's why I say, like,
I don't care if they win by a field goal
against the Bengals or if they blow them out, but
get the win and keep getting better from one week
to the next. And I know it's cliche, and I
know people probably roll their eyes or whatever, but it's
one billion percent the truth when it comes to the
teams that do get better throughout the season and are

(38:24):
playing their best ball in December, as opposed to September
are the ones that have a shot at winning a championship.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Yeah, you're gonna be concerned if you're playing your best
ball now, Like, if this is the best you're gonna
be playing, that's a bad thing. And I think you
see Mike McCarthy, one of his favorite cliches was he
got stack some success. So one to oh, this week
allows you to get to the next week with good
film and you know, probably some missteps there as well,
obviously some mistakes, but then you're able to correct with

(38:51):
a victory. Is a whole lot better than correcting with
a tie or a loss. And now think about it,
this stacks up to forty two days. Was the run
of time that they didn't have a win and that
they went without winning a game in twenty twenty three,
coming up on three weeks. Since you've had a victory Monday,
that's a good that's a big benchmark to be able
to get back.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
To Man, the last time they won a game, it
was September eleventh. M We need we need to start
stacking crazier. Man, I need another Believe Monday. It's crazy, right,
but it's true. That's where we're living. Right now, and
God knows, the schedule plays out in a way that
allows the Packers to hopefully stack some successes. To quote Mike,
you know these are winnable games, you know, these next

(39:33):
few in particular. But man, this news with Flacco, it's
so interesting to see, how, you know, even online already
people are turping like, oh, you know, his last win
was against the Packers and now he's playing Like Man,
I a beg you to go watch that game, first
of all, and second of all, it is going to
be I would suspect, as you were saying earlier, Billy

(39:55):
a bit of a curve from Halfley facing a quarterback
that yes, he's already faced once before, definitely has better
weapons available to him, especially at the wide receiver positions.
But you know, to me, I just think with Halfley,
he's gonna probably throwing a lot more wrinkles than we've

(40:16):
seen so far throughout the first month of the season.
And I don't mean to say he's going to start
exotics on every third down, he's going to being heavy
pressure or anything like that, but I do think we're
going to see, you know, a corner blitz here or there,
maybe a safety pressure, maybe actually utilizing and this is
something that I think really kind of not burned them,
but they could have helped them in Dallas utilizing Edrin

(40:38):
Cooper as a pass rusher a little bit more, you
know what I mean, Get him after the quarterback. He
is so explosive and so fast, the way he's able
to cover ground in an instant, like make that quarterback
worried just for a second that is he coming? Is
he not coming? And if he does, how quickly is
he going to be in the backfield. That's a wrinkle
that I would suspect we'll see, especially against statuesque Joe

(41:02):
Flacco on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yeah, And I also wonder if that gets Coop into
the game a little bit more, Not like like obviously
he was around the football, just wasn't able to get
the ball carrier to the ground enough in Dallas. But
I wonder if you get that rolling, if that gets
him into the game a little bit kind of like
a great wide receiver, get him a touch, get him
an opportunity to rush the passer and make a big
splash play nags. If that gets you rolling a little

(41:23):
bit more and more into the flow as to how
you want to be playing.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I hope so. I love it. I love the idea
of again just just a little wrinkle. This is a
little curveball. I'm excited for it. I'm excited to talk Packers, NFL,
hell Brewers with both Billy and Armin for another hour
here and carry the G radio another hours, flown by
ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Nothing on this earth

(41:50):
moves faster than when I'm talking ball with my guys.
This is amazing. I love it each and every week.
Appreciate you both, Billy, Armin Aaron here at ninety seven
point three the game
