Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Check with Chip, brought to you by Operation
Blue Dot Red. Turning the Blue Dot Red one podcast
at a time. The three thousand year old civilization of
Persia known to day as Iran, still exists, at least
for two more weeks. No nukes have been dropped on Iran.
World War III has not broken out. These were some
(00:22):
of the hysterical predictions of the left. Instead, what we
have is an opportunity to turn blue dots red. President
Trump had the left screaming genocide and war crimes based
on his declaration that Iranian civilization would be ended, chiefly
by the destruction of civilian infrastructure in one night. If
(00:45):
Iran continued to refuse the terms of surrender demanded by
the u S New Age or Stone Age, that was
the choice. A new age of peace and healthy interaction
with the West starting with the free flow of common
through the Strait of Hormus, or a trip back in
time to a primitive standard of living without bridges, power plants,
(01:08):
and other elements of modern civilization. Whoever is calling the
shots in Iran signaled acceptance of a truce. Trump calls
a double sighted cease fire. The President says hostilities will
be suspended for two weeks while negotiators try to finalize
a peace plan. Now the left is sneering Taco. Taco,
(01:33):
which stands for Trump always chickens out. The Iranian leaders
and facilities that have been destroyed over the last five
weeks probably would not view Trump as a chicken who
always backs down. When you hear lefties chirping Taco, you
know Trump has prevailed. It's what Trump critics resort to
(01:54):
when Trump notches a policy win. By not being the reckless,
foaming at the mouth, dictatorial madman the left claims he is.
Trump pulls back the reins and accomplishes what he set
out to accomplish, and it drives his critics crazy. They
might calm down, or at least not be repeatedly surprised
(02:16):
and frustrated, if they would read Trump's book The Art
of the Deal, or study his career in business as
well as politics. He's a master at the positioning and
tug of war inherent in high stakes negotiations. The same
thing happened with tariffs. One of the first things Trump
did in his current presidential term was announced Liberation Day
(02:39):
in April of twenty twenty five. He meant liberation from
the dysfunctional trade relations of the last several decades. Trump's
beef was with allies as well as adversaries. He said
correctly that America was getting bullied, gouged, and ripped off
by terribly lopsided trade deals. America charges minimal tariffs on
(03:02):
imports into the American market, while American exporters face massive
tariff and regulatory barriers to the markets of trading partners.
Global elites who can live anywhere and locate businesses anywhere
were happy with the arrangement, but it was damaging to
American jobs and manufacturing and economic health. It was damaging
(03:24):
to regular Americans who need and deserve political leadership that
puts America first. America the trade wimp, who was being
beaten up and having his lunch money stolen, went to
the gym and came out brandishing muscular tariffs against all comers.
Trump produced for the Cameras a giant chart of countries
(03:47):
and tariff rates, the rates they charged the US and
the new rates the US would charge them twenty percent,
fifty percent, eighty percent, one hundred percent. It depended on
how the target country had treated America and whether America
needed the target country to change its position on some
other issue. You're a NATO country who won't let America
(04:10):
use your air bases. Let's add another twenty five percent
to your tariff. The global elites erupted, the foreign policy
establishment erupted, leftist economists and business leaders, and some on
the right erupted. This is outrageous, this is insane. This
will destroy trade, the economy, on the financial markets. What
(04:32):
happened was that other nations beat a path to the
White House to negotiate new trade deals more favorable to
the US. There has been a burst of increased revenue
from tariffs and a burst of investment and manufacturing in America,
and the financial markets are doing just fine. Thank you.
(04:52):
When Trump lowered tariff rates on nations that rework their tariffs,
the left cried, Taco Trump always chickens Trump chickened out again.
He was not chickening out or backing down. He was
accomplishing what he set out to accomplish. He was establishing
a proper trade in tariff equilibrium with trading partners and
(05:13):
generating significant economic and financial benefits for America. Trump is
not chickening out or backing down. In dealing with Iran.
He has all the cards, all the leverage. He never
wanted to end Iranian civilization. He wants a new day
to dawn in Iran and knows there's a better chance
(05:35):
of that happening if the country is not bombed back
to the Stone Age. The blue dot red angle is.
As the trendy expression goes, let Trump cook, let him work,
let him do his thing, don't fall for the knee
jerk orange man bad response. That does not mean Trump's
(05:55):
Iran gambit is guaranteed to succeed. It still could turn
out to be a disaster for America. In a previous podcast,
I said, I worry about the Iranian civil war that
will follow the withdrawal of American power. We just got
a fleeting glimpse of what could follow in Iran. When
Trump said Iranian civilization would end, he meant the infrastructure,
(06:19):
not the people. He was not talking about genocide. He
was not going to wipe out ninety million Iranians. But
did you notice that the guys with the guns in Iran,
the Islamic extremist regime remnants, made women and children stand
next to bridges and power plants as human shields. The
(06:40):
guys with guns don't care if the women and children
die if those targets are bombed. They want to film
it and exploit the dead for anti Trump, anti America
propaganda value. I don't see those hardcore regime loyalists giving
up without a fight to the death, everybody else's death
as well as their own. But I'll practice what I'm
(07:03):
preaching and let Trump cook a little more on this.
If he pulls it off, it will be a magnificent
breakthrough for Iran, for America, for Israel, for the Middle East,
for the world. This could rank with defanging Nazi Germany
and Imperial Japan and helping them reinvent themselves as friendly
(07:24):
and prosperous members of the Family of Nations. Come on,
Blue daughters, your Blue Dot boys. Obama and Biden tried
to buy off and appease Iran. It just made Iran
richer and more emboldened in pursuing nuclear weapons to take
its sponsorship of regional and global terror to new levels.
(07:45):
If you want what's good for America and the world,
you should be rooting for Trump to succeed in Iran.
If Trump pulls this off, that has to make some
blue dots at least purple, if not fully red. That's
a start. We have a few more months to bring
them all the way to that scarlet shade of red
(08:06):
we love in Nebraska. That's check with Chip. I'm Chip Maxwell.
Thank you for listening.
