were also at Corpus Christy Comicon. You guys were there, Yes,
and you guys are usually all over the place. Another
place that you're going to be starting June a through
the fourteenth, is that HB.

Yes, yeah, so that just started yesterday, right what I
read Tuesday. Yes, it's been a blue earth this summer.
So yes, we'll be there from many all the way
to the next Sunday. So we're really excited about that.
And you know, HIB is a huge partner for the
Blood Center, one of our biggest partner, you know, so
we're very grateful for this partnership, not only you know,
for the amount of monetary donations that they give the

Blood Center, but also for the opportunity to be able
to partner with them at their different locations, park our
Blood Mobiles there since it's high traffic all the time,
right and you know, hopefully again help us during these
summer months. So again, this is why we do always
have our HB drives during summer and then also during
December because holidays are really tough.

For us as well. So shout out to Achib, thank you.

And one more thing, Run for Blood. Now, tell me
a little bit about Now. I know they always have
all these like marathons and stuff like that, but what
is this one's particularly about.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Man, this has been so exciting to bring this back.
I had been wanting to bring this back for a
good while since I came on board of the Blood Center.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
It'll be nine years this July. Only next month, I'll
be there niney almost double digits. That's crazy. I love it.
It doesn't feel like that absolutely love It feels like
I've been there longer. I don't know, but I know, right,
You're like, you have to say that, No, I really do.
I really love it. It's an amazing organization.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
They treat us very well, and it's just something so
wonderful to be a part of, you know, which is
just a little small part of saving lives here in
our community.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
So I'm very grateful for that.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
But yes one for blood we had the last time
that we held it with the Blood Center was in
twenty fifteen. Wow, we brought it back last year. It
had been ten years. It was a ten year mark
right twenty twenty five. So it was a huge deal
and it's stipe. It is a huge deal because it's
so as our one and only fundraiser for the Blood Center.
Believe it or not, we don't have a fundraiser, which
is crazy, right, So this is something that is definitely needed,
(04:08):
especially as a nonprofit and especially because we don't have
a fundraiser. So we we you know, we thought, okay,
we're going to bring it back. It's been ten years,
and when it was brought in twenty twenty five, it
was more of like an awareness type of thing. It
wasn't really a fundraiser. Really wanted to bring it back
as a fundraiser and we need that right again as
a nonprofit. So we had the goal of three hundred
(04:32):
and twenty five runners and we surpassed that. We had
five hundred and one runners, so huge yes.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
We had a lot of.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Community members there, you know, media, a lot of support,
a lot of vendors of food trucks. It was a
really great perfect weather. It was in October. It was
just I couldn't have asked for a better day, a
better event, a better turnout.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
So got willing.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
We're hoping to stur passed at with six hundred plus
runners this year. It'll be held on ten ten, twenty
six October.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
The tenth camp.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
You know, it's gonna be hard to forget that, right
ten ten, same place, waters Edge Park and at seven
thirty in the morning. We're still seeking sponsors, so if
you're interested, please.

any of our blood mobiles, because we're out in the
community seven days a week, right again, being the sole
provider blood supply, we cannot we can never stop. So
we're out in the community seven days a week. Our
hospital service is open twenty four to seven. Again, we
service our community, you know, Coastal Main, eleven counties, twenty
four medical facilities, soul provider blood supply, so there's no

time to stop. But yes, you can you will probably
see us at some.

Our blood mobiles are always again out seven days a week.
But if you can't or we understand schedules, get you
know very you can always just come to our center,
Coastal Wind Blood Center. We're located at two zero nine
North Padre Island Drive, and walkins are always welcome at
our blood mobiles as well as at our center.
