Speaker 1 (00:00):
Corpus Grizzy's Classic Kids A big ninety three to nine?
How's it going to Tipman with you? And I have
Denise and Lisa on the phone from Voluntech's dot org. Ladies.
How are you today?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
We're good, We're rocking and rolling. How are you, hit Man?

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I'm doing good.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
You guys have a special event coming up on February first.
That's coming up on Sunday, right, and it's over at
in the Game Fund Trackers. Tell me a little bit
about this event.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Absolutely, we are super excited to be hosting this event,
and we're basically kicking off February with Family Fun. We've
got a lot of stuff going on here. We got
family fun, we have family finances, and we have family giving.
So the event will be in the Game Fund Trackers
in Flower Bluff starting from noon to three. It will
be in the party rooms, but there will be a
table as soon as you enter in Fun Trackers to

(00:41):
just kind of check it out get some more information
on the event. But otherwise it will be in the
party rooms off the restaurant.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Now, this is a free event, right correct.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
It is a free community event. We will be partnering up.
We have some great partners that will be coming up,
so the party rooms are basically be transformed into an
opportunity to have a lot of resources you. We will
have a financial speaker that will be giving some literacy
to everybody. So it really is an event that we're
gearing it towards from my kids to grandparents. We want

(01:09):
the whole family to come out and friends and just
come out, hang out. We're having some snacks, We're going
to have some arts and crafts, but we also we
need Valentine's Day cards for our senior citizen population. So
if you want to come and make a really cool
hand crafted card for them, we would love that.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Oh that's kind of cool. So it should be a
great event. Now, why this event is needed right now, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Important to start off at the beginning of the year,
So we wanted to have something instead of focusing on
finances more towards like the end of the year, when
you know, we have when everyone's trying to save up
for Christmas and trying to get all their finances in order.
Plus also right now people are trying to save for
college and even grandparents, so it's really important about the
financial education of this is we're working with the their

(01:53):
local group, but it's the mccrak and Salazar and Backtub
group and they'll be actually leading the financial presentation. And
we have two different segments. So one segment will be
maybe more geared towards families that just are trying to
figure out how to save and how to kind of
move forward to our finances, and then another presentation will
be more geared towards the senior citizen population. So everything

(02:14):
is just kind of hitting everybody that needs these resources,
and it just gives an opportunity to kick off the
year with some fun, some giving, and some finances.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
That's cool. Now, if people want to find out more
information concerning this event that's coming up on Sunday, where
can they go to find out more info?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Absolutely everything right now is actually on the Facebook page,
so it's VOVN Texas dot org. And we also do
have an event page out there and it's listed under family, fun,
family giving, and family and finance.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All right, Well, is there any last things that you
want to talk about?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
One thing too that we'll be kicking off at this event,
particularly is we are working with the City of Corpus
Christy the Meals on Wheels program and we are trying
to help out five hundred senior citizens for the whole
month of February, and that's that's the one We're doing
this event on February first. So we'll be asking for
donations that the city will be passing out in March,

(03:09):
and so we're we'll also have that list on our
Facebook page. Then it will be like socks and you know,
hygiene products things like that that senior citizens really neat.
So we will be actually having donations at fun Trackers
for the whole month, so people will have pink trees
and so to kind of like the month of Giving
of Love basically, and they can come donate items for instance,

(03:29):
I get in the game fun Trackers and at this event,
it's like a pair of socks or whatever is on
that list and they will be distributed in March. That's
also where we want to have those cards made to
go along with the gift that they'll be getting in March.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Oh wow, that's really really cool. Okay, So it's happening
this Sunday. It's happening at in the game fun Trackers.
It's going to be going on from what noon to
three at the end of games fun tracktors and one
of the party rooms there, and of course it's all
with Voluntex's dot org and it's for a great cause
and it's a great way to get a little family
event together and it is free, so make sure you
make it on out. I appreciate you guys calling in

(04:03):
today to tell us a little bit about this. Again,
if they want to find out more, they can find
it out on their Facebook page, right on your Facebook.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Page, correct, yep. Valuntexasud org and in the Game Fund
Trackers is donating keepons for a free mini golf's go KRT.
So if you visit us in the party room, you
have to come to the party room otherwise they will
not hand you a keep on. If you come visit us,
we'll hand you a keep on for a free minigolf
or go cart ride. Oh cool. It's also great for
seniors to get a free round of minigolf for the day.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Oh that's cool. And you know they got a really
nice one there in the Game Fund Trackers. So yeah,
looking forward to that. All right, I appreciate you calling
in today. Okay, on the way, we got more music
coming up, just a little bit on Big ninety three, nine,
