all right, now, tell me where did you guys come
up with the Cuckoo Birds? The name the Cuckoo Birds.

Actually, none of us in the band came up with it.
It was some guy that was a guitar player in
the original formission of the band really didn't really last
that long, okay, Yeah, but everybody.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Loves the names. It's a cuckoo sound. People go cuckoo
when we play, so as everything.

It's good that none of us name did.

How long has the band been together?

We've been together almost two years now, I guess. Our
first gig was January of twenty twelve. Really yeah, Kat
and I are playing at a strip joint and then
the Swang came to the strip joint and he chatted
with us, joined the band and that was it.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
What girl was dancing on the stage when you guys
were playing.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Oh we can't talk about that.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Oh okay, we're talking with the Cuckoo Birds are going
to be in the valley for the next couple of weeks.
In fact, one of the big events is going to
be coming up as a summer Solstice festival over at
Sophie's Saloon, and we'll talk about that in just a

So yeah, we're throwing a party It's an outdoor festival,
no cover charge. It's gonna be at Sophie Saloon and
South McCallen. It's this Friday, June twenty. First, you got
eight awesome local bands. What are we gonna be playing?

What do we got going?

We got some blues, we got some reggaez, funk, surf,
and of course we got rocking roll.

Wellus we're gonna do outdoor barbecue, fijitas, bikini contest, from
our people's stilettos, body painting, arts, crafts, tattoos, motorcycles, dude
and limousines, limousine everything. We're just gonna be a great time.

nights Saturday nights, it's an all day thing. So come
out around noon, get your hitas, get your beers, get
