Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, friends, welcome for the third hour. Appreciate you
joining us here on Thrustrial Radio or iHeartRadio, however you
find us. We're grateful, truly grateful. That is Jose running
the radio program in Studio one A. I am your host,
Preston Scott, and I am joined by the coach, US
senator and candidate for governor in the great state of Alabama,

(00:26):
Tommy Tubberville. Coach, how are you.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Good morning, Preston. I'm doing great. Thanks for asking.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I'm anxious to talk about your gubernatorial campaign, but I
have to ask you. It is topic de jure for
the last several weeks around here. What's going on with
the Save Act? Why can't this just let him fill
a buster, a talk and let's vote and get it done.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
One hundred percent agree. It is amazing up here. It
is a eighty something percent approval, not just Republicans but
also most of the Democrats. Is not quite as high
for the Democrats, but it's a super majority. So at
the end of the day, we got so many people
up here. There's word to death about getting re elected.

(01:13):
And that's what's wrong with this place. You know, you know,
I might hurt my voting and all this and instead
of doing what's best for the country. And I tell
people this that people ask me, what do you think
the biggest reason we need to pass this is from
first of all, we've got fifteen states in this country.
They're absolutely going to cheat the hell out of the

(01:34):
American people. And they're the Blue states and they do
everything they can, from the city government all the way
up to the federal government of stacking the boxes. That's
been proven. It's not just hearsay. We know what happens.
And so you've lost fifteen states right there. If we
don't get voter ID we've lost them. We have no
chance for the American people, you know, to save their country.

(01:58):
And so seventy seven million people, not Democrats or Republicans
Preston voted for Donald Trump. Seventy seven million. And they're
tired of this nonsense. They're tired of politics. They want
their country back, and they want fair elections. When I
go throughout Alabama, coach is, please tell me my vote's

(02:19):
going to count and for us in Alabama, and of
course a lot of the pan hele in Florida, you're
you're gonna have fair elections. But that's just one of
our two states out of fifty that I know we
can count on. We need fifty out of fifty.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Why is it so difficult for John Thune to understand?
I should say, the polling that you mentioned, We've talked
about it, seventy plus percent of Blacks, seventy plus percent
of Latinos, seventy three percent of Democrats, and the overall
numbers eighty three percent. You're gonna lose votes by not
voting this into place.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Yeah, he's trying to play Paul. You know, he's the
leader up here, and I didn't vote for him, and
he's John's a good guy, and he's Republican believes in
the country. But he's got five or six seven people
in our caucus that are Republicans. They're not really Republicans,
you know. Number one, they all hate Donald Trump, and
uh they want to more vote for the Democratic side,

(03:22):
and we know who they all are. And so uh,
in defense of him, if he brings it up just
a regular vote, we got no shot because we have
to have sixty votes. And so that's the reason I've
been pushing all along. There's no reason for us to
do the antiquated filibuster anymore because they're gonna they're gonna
bust it when they get control, which is gonna be

(03:43):
very soon if we don't go ahead and do the
Save Act. But it's just important that we understand that
we need to get things done, like the Save Act,
the budget. Uh if nothing but this situation we're in
right now. I went through some airports last year weeks. Preston.
TSA is a god awful mess. Yes, it all weights,

(04:04):
and it's all because the Democrats refused to fund DHS
that it's not really about TSA for them. They just
hate to lose their voting base, which is illegal. And
so we could do a fifty one vote bust to
philibuster vote it, clean that up, Save America Act, and
do so much for the American people. If we would

(04:27):
do the right thing and bust to Philibuster, forget about
They said, well, it's tradition in the Senate. We have sixty. Hey,
I don't work for the Senate. I work for the
American people and people of Alabama. Let's get this done
because this is a different world than what it was
Preston ten years ago. The Democrats have turned crazy on us,
absolutely nuts, a.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Few more minutes this morning with friend of the program
US Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama before we get to
the governor's race in your state, Coach, just your level
of comfort or discomfort with what's going on in the
Middle East.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Well, I feel good about it. I feel good about
why we did it. You hate to lose any of
our soldiers, and unfortunately we've lost a few, but precedents
to the point where we finally got a president that
would say enough's enough on building nuclear weapons or funding
terrorism all over the world. We've had one hundred and
eighty taxes in the last few years on American citizens

(05:30):
from terrorists that are funded by Iran. They hate this country,
they hate Americas, they hate Christianity, and it's time to
put them in their place. So he has now, do
we need to stay very long? No, we do not.
We need to get in, we need to get out,
and we need to turn this over to another regime.
Now it sounds like they're his son is going to

(05:50):
take over, but there has been regime change. We're making
sure that they have no uranium, no nuclear facilities, and
give our kids and grandkids a peace of mind that
if something happens in this world is not going to
be because of Iran in the Islamic.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Terrorist Let's switch over now to your run for governor.
Why'd you decide to make the decision to push away
from the US Senate and head to the Executive Office
of Alabama.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Well, the President is sending more power back to the states,
more money back to the states. You know, we're a
stand still up here. You're not going to get much done.
You know, President Trump, you have to have a White House,
and President Trump the most everything he's getting done is
by executive orders. Now, we did do the one big,
beautiful bill, but that took an arm and a leg

(06:45):
just to twist the arms of some of these rhinos
we got in the Senate to get this done with
fifty one votes, we didn't have to have sixty. So
it's time for to go back. I can do a
lot more good there because understanding and knowing and in
communicating with President Trump getting things done for the southeast
part of the country. We're going We're going to grow

(07:08):
manufacturing Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee. I'm looking forward to it.
I can build something, you know, it's kind of like
being a head football coach. You got to hire your
own staff and your cabinet, and you gotta have a
game plan and you put it to work. Up here,
there's no game plan, there's nothing other than you just
go over there and listen to a bunch of nonsense

(07:29):
every day and and just hopefully we help President Trump
as much as we possibly can.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
You talked about some of the things that are coming
to the region, but specifically in Alabama. I've noted just
in the news stories that come across my desk, Coach,
the the big changes that are coming into Alabama, Space
comm Fannie May, Coast Guard Training Center, talk about some
of that.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah, We've been fortunate to attract a lot of good
some obviously government jobs. Fanning May, I'm a job. President
Trump called me one night and said, Hey, we're moving
Fanny May out of California. Do you want it in Alabama?
Let said bring it on. And then Coast Guard route. Yeah,
we've worked on it for the Coast Guard for the

(08:14):
last year and we had a great opportunity and a
great place for them. It saved the country probably some
eight one hundred million dollars taken over old Birmingham Southern,
which is a two hundred acre campus which is going
to be perfect for own land, training, leadership and all
those things for Coastguard and then Space Command. It's a
no brainer. They played politics with this, but Hunt schools

(08:35):
of the Rocket city of the World, and everything we
do and space comes from there. Why not have Space
Command where they can communicate and do things we need
to do, you know, around all the infrastructure we have there.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
If you get the job as governor, what is job
one for you in Alabama?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah, growd the state. You know, it's kind of like
a mini United States. The only way we're going to
get out of this debt, the only way we're going
to help our young people. Number one is getting manufacturing
back to this country. Bill Clinton sold us out through NAFTA.
We have all over the state of Alabama buildings that

(09:15):
are empty where we used to make things. We don't
make things anymore. We've got to get back to making drugs,
making things that can help our country in the United States.
We found out during COVID you know how vulnerable we
were with no pharmaceuticals made in our country, all made
in China. Enough's enough. We finally got a president says,

(09:35):
we're going to start doing what we need to do
and take care of ourselves, First America, first agenda, and
I'm all in on it.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Coach, thanks for the time this morning. I know you're busy,
and I appreciate you wedging some loose best of success,
and I hope we talk soon.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Thanks Preston, God blessed, Thank.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
You, sir. Coach. Tommy Tubberville, US senator from Alabama and
running for governor. And you heard why you could here
in the beginning, just his disdain for how they do
things in the Beltway. It just explained right there. I
asked the question almost it was almost rhetorical. I mean,

(10:15):
I know why he's getting out of there and going
to Alabama, going back home, and good guy boy, he's
got his head screwed on straight and he shares our
values and I look forward to continuing, you know, a
relationship with him. I think he's going to win the

(10:35):
governor's seat and it'd be great to have him on
the show from time to time. It is our neighbor,
and we want the best for our neighbors because that's
the way we are. The cul de Sac here known
