Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please deeper in the din with dangerous day. Good news
for your brain. Just because you're getting older doesn't mean
your brain has to get slower. New research shows that
you can train your brain well into your eighties and nineties.
Researchers tracked four thousand adults between the age of nineteen
and ninety four for three years. All the participants had
to do is spend a few minutes each day on

(00:22):
brain training activities. The results showed serious improvement for thinking skills,
emotional well being, in a sense of purpose across all
age groups, biggest gains from people who started with the
lowest brain health scores. This means there's plenty of room
for improvement for those that may already be experiencing some challenges.
The best part is age gender education did not predict success,

(00:45):
just engagement did. So if it's not too late to
train your brain, I asked my brain, are you ready
for some training? Realized it already checked out deeper in
the tea. Imagine if you were recreating yourself in a
video game or something, you could give yourself an option
of boosting one aspect of your life, like be five
percent funnier, fifteen percent better at avoiding mosquitos or something

(01:07):
like that. A hypothetical online question has four thousand people
what percentage based bonus would you rather choose? The options
were you could become ten percent happier, twenty percent luckier, age,
thirty percent slower, forty percent prettier or hotter, fifty percent
more money at your job, or sixty percent better at
any sport. The results most popular, thirty seven percent would

(01:29):
rather have more money at their job, Twenty three percent
said twenty percent luckier, seventeen percent forty percent prettier or hotter,
fifteen percent, thirty percent slower, for aging five percent happier.
Only three percent said they would be sixty percent better
at any sport, which I think means every sport if
that makes any difference. My question is that how good

(01:51):
I am at sports now or at my peak? Because
that might change things for me? And fifty percent more
money at work? Wow? Are we talking four dollars an hour?
