Speaker 1 (00:01):
Remember when it was impossible to misplace the TV remote
because you were the TV remote. Remember when music sounded
like this? You remember when social media was truly social?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hey John, how's it going today?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Good?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Well, this show is all about you only. This is
fifty plus with Doug Pike. Helpful information on your finances,
good health, and what to do for fun. Fifty plus
brought to you by the UT Health Houston Institute on
Aging Informed Decisions for a healthier, happier life, and now

(00:43):
fifty plus with Doug Pike.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
All right, we go. Welcome to yet another glorious day outside,
one that started on the cool side. Really it was.
It's pretty chilly this morning when I walked out. I
think it was forty two maybe at the house something
like that. Nearly ideal conditions really for our little corner
of the world, and we've just got more of it
coming up. It's gonna change. If you liked last night's cool,

(01:08):
you didn't have to. Maybe you turned on the heat
or maybe you didn't, but if you did, you didn't
have to leave it on for long. Wasn't that cold
or wasn't that cool? I correct myself. I'd try to
reserve the word cold for temperatures below freezing, which I
don't think we're gonna see anymore this year. There was
something I saw online earlier this morning, and I talked

(01:29):
about it over the weekend, actually about when the latest
actual freeze in Houston has ever been, and that was
April tenth in nineteen and seventy three. According to what
I saw on TV and what I talked about over
the weekend, I think we're done with freezes. I really do.
We might get a few more chili spells, but nothing.

(01:50):
Nothing to worry about having to cover plants and all
those dreadful things you have to do drip pipes or
cover the spigots outside or all of that stuff that
I absolutely hate doing, and I tend to when I
see something like that coming, I tend to go ahead
and get it done early, when the temperature is still
seventy seventy five degrees in the afternoon, knowing that the

(02:12):
next night it's going to be twenty one. Something crazy
like that around here. Not going to be crazy for
four or five days, though, we're actually going to threaten
record high temperatures for the next five or six days
mid to high eighties for about a week Hey, as
the adage goes, if you don't like Houston weather, hang
around a few hours. It's changed. The market indicators that

(02:35):
I watch all were green all morning long and remain
that way. At this point. Gold here we go again.
Gold was more than fifty one hundred dollars an ounce.
Fifty one hundred dollars an ounce, so like bread and
I have bread. Schwie from Houston Gold Exchange said, Man,

(02:56):
you're gonna get some guys. Somebody's gonna want to talk
to you when the number to where they want that
number to be. And this these are historic prices. This
has got to be it. Just look him up, Houston
Gold Exchange. Great guy, known him a long time. Good
fishermen too. Oil was a penny shy of sixty six dollars,
which is a couple of bucks north of what I prefer,

(03:18):
but still very reasonable considering the state of the world
right now, and considering what people in other states like California,
I think there's still like four point fifty a gallons
something insane like that, most of which is taxes, that's
all it is. You can you can tell which which
states tax highest on gasoline, buy their oil or their

(03:39):
their gas prices. It's very simple. Florida's hard. No, Florida's good.
We're good. Louisiana's good. Pretty much anywhere along the Gulf
coast is real good. There's so much refining going on
around here. And then you go way out west where
they actually do produce some oil, but the refinery capacity
isn't quite the same, and up up go the prices. Well,

(04:01):
that and a very tax hungry economy they have out there.
Gad about Gavin is just he's he's making one mistake
after another. He made a really big mistake a couple
of nights ago. I don't want to get into it,
but you can look it up and see he said
some really really dumb things right to a man's face. Overall,

(04:23):
our economy pushing strongly forward. I'm very very happy to
report that interest rates down a little bit. We may
even see another drop pretty soon. I'd love to see
that all thanks to the President and what he's doing. Frankly,
that man has regained worldwide respect for our country in waste.
Biden never dreamed. I could not possibly have dreamed, and

(04:45):
he's done with dreaming now. When I'm not speaking ill
of the man, I hate to see somebody. I hate
to see anybody in any state of cognitive decline. I
feel sorry for the man in that regard, because his
ability to really be part of the part of the
good in whatever way he sees it, it's kind of

(05:07):
come to an end. He just he doesn't realize what's
going on around him as much, and that's that's tough.
I'm really glad. I saw a story the other day.
By the way, I think we're going to have an
interview on Thursday, maybe Thursday or Friday, it might even
be as early as tomorrow on some really promising news
about Alzheimer's disease, and in that there is a potential

(05:31):
it's gonna be a ways down the line. You know,
it always takes a year or two, three, five, whatever
to get these things put to bed. But there is
some sort of procedure, some sort of medication that is
believed potentially, I got to be as vague as I
can believe potentially to be either able to stop the

(05:55):
advance of Alzheimer's or even reverse it. And if you
can get into that reversal thing. Now we're in really
really good shape, leading off with powerfully good economic news,
specifically the specifically the narrowing of our formerly massive trade deficit.
Thank the President Trump's broadbrush tariffs, the US trade deficit

(06:17):
has dropped from one hundred thirty six billion dollars a
while back, like a few years back, not that many,
but a few currently since at twenty nine billion one
hundred thirty six billion to twenty nine billion, the lowest
since two thousand and nine, and half of what the

(06:39):
left predicted all along, that it would be based on
what they were seeing going on and coming out of
the White House, and they were wrong. I don't know
how many poker players I have in this audience. I
raise my hand. I don't get to play as much
as I used to, but I used to play a lot.
And I saw a statistic that I'd never seen before

(06:59):
or herd before. In Texas, hold them, if you're familiar,
will do you know the game? Okay? In Texas hold them.
The probability of having no pairs in your hand, and
it makes sense when you think about it, is less
than the probability of a one pair or two pair hand.
You got better odds of having two pairs than having

(07:23):
no pairs, And it does make sense mathematically obviously, or
they wouldn't have put this in here, in this fine
source of information I have here. Well it's not the
best actually, but it's good. It's interesting. I don't doubt it.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
All.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Right, let's tee it up for the first break. Ut
Health Institute on Aging is the organization. It's not a place,
it's a it's a collaborative really of thousands literally, of
providers in this region who have all they It covers
every medical discipline if you can name it. And it's
part of the medical community. Well, then there's somebody who

(08:00):
has done what all of these people have done, which
is go back and get additional training so that they
can apply the knowledge they gained going through school for
however many years it took them to get that diploma
and then use that knowledge specifically, target it specifically to
seniors because we are different. We don't work like juniors,

(08:22):
we don't work like middle aged people. Senior bodies have
their issues. Okay, we got more miles on the tires,
We got all kinds. Just the carburetor fell out and
you got to get a new one. Well, they don't
even have carburetors anymore, do they. They're showing my age.
Most of these people are in the med center but
also working at least a couple of days a week

(08:43):
out in outlying community. So if you don't want to
go to the med center, you don't have to to
see one of these specially trained people. Go to the website,
look at all the free resources you can put your
hands on. And then if you still need some help
finding a provider who can help you with a very
specific or very generic issue with your health and you

(09:03):
want somebody who knows you, better start that search right there.
Utch dot edu slash aging, utch dot edu slash aging.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
What's life without a net? I suggest you go to bed,
leave it off, just wait until the show's over. Sleepy.
Back to Doug Pike as fifty plus continues.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Come back to fifty plus. We are going to talk
in this segment as we come into the final week
of February about self checkups, because among other things, it's
National Self Checkup Month. Feel free sometime today, maybe this evening,
just strip down, stand in front of the mirror, hook
and prod and squeeze yourself to discover little health issues,

(09:46):
hopefully before they become big ones. And with that, I'm
going to welcome in doctor Carmen Whiting, Board certified physician
and Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern
Medical School and Medical director at UT physician seeing a
village multi specialty clinic. Welcome aboard, Doc, Thank.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
You, I'm glad to be here. How are you today?

Speaker 4 (10:08):
I'm glad you picked up the phone because I've been
lost without you. Oh I'm doing fine.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
As a guest, what percentage of adults in this country
would you think actually do self check regularly and know
what to look for when they do it.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I would say probably about forty to maybe sixty percent
of Americans know what it means to do a self check.
That leaves a great number who do not know what
to do as it relates to self checks.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Well that's more than I thought we would get on
that one. So what's a let's talk about this. What
is a good checklist of things to take a look
at and look for when we do that and standing
there embarrassingly in front of the mirror, thinking we used
to be younger and look a whole lot better. But
here's what we've.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Got now, Yeah, tell me about it. So the so
the main thing really, and in particular since we're focusing
on adults over the age of fifty. There are probably
three things we need to think about. One cancer prevention.
You know, what can we do to identify possible issues

(11:17):
with cancer? One of them. If we're just looking at
our own bodies, we want to check our skin, look
for lumps, bumps, rashes, anything that that's unusual that you've
not seen before or has changed in appearance. So that's
one second. You know, women should definitely be looking at
their breast looking for skin changes, anything that does not

(11:38):
feel or look normal to them. It's a good idea
to get it checked. And then men, of course the
testicular exams if they feel or see anything in that
area that doesn't look normal. And then of course, how
are you feeling physically and emotionally, So if you're having headaches,

(11:59):
chest pains, anything that seems out of the ordinary, pay
attention to how you're feeling. And if you're not feeling right,
then something may be going on. It's a good time
to see your doctor. And of course I'll always plug
your annual wellness checks. We should be doing those anyway,
regardless of how we feel. It's a good opportunity to

(12:19):
pick up you know undiagnosed conditions, conditions that have no
real symptoms until you feel bad and it's maybe too
late to do anything about it, like high blood pressure, diabetes,
heart disease. We can't find those things early if we
are looking for them.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I had one question. The next question I had here
I had written in a certain way, but I'm going
to rephrase it. Is there ever a bad time? Or
are there ever too many self examinations?

Speaker 3 (12:50):
You know?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
I think you know. We live in our bodies and
we know it better than any physician will know it.
So if you're in tune and paying attention, very likely
to pick up things that maybe your doctor wouldn't even notice.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Is it a good This is something that just came
to me this morning, And I've never done this before.
I wish I could say I've been doing it for years.
But when we do one of these self exams at
the house, wouldn't it be nice to have a little
notebook next to the mirror, a notebook and a pen
and say, okay, today on February the twenty first, whatever
it is, I found this on my that and so

(13:26):
that you could then't present that later.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, yes, absolutely. I always encourage my patients to bring
in notes to their visits. I mean, it's important for
me not to miss anything. And also it helps them
remember the things that need to mention well.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
And that's the truth. My wife is great about that
and me not so much. I'll go in there and
I'll tell her, Okay, I know the three things that
you told me to tell the doctor about. And I'll
come out and she'll say, did you get them all? Say, yeah,
I got both of them.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
I forgot one.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Yeah. Also, you mentioned a little while ago about the
importance of monitoring our own mental health for things like
mood swings or short bouts of the prep, maybe chronic fatigue.
They're like, it's like your mind is handing you a
letter written in a foreign language. How do we accurately
assess our own mental health?

Speaker 3 (14:21):
You know, that's a very good question. And oftentimes people
feel sad. They feel sad, they don't know why they
feel tired. They can't explain it. They're getting enough rest
that night, you know, or maybe perhaps they're not getting
enough rest that night and it's affecting their mood. And
oftentimes we just don't pay attention to how we're feeling emotionally.

(14:41):
You know, there are some good screening tools that we
use here in a doctor's office, but even at home.
If you start to think about, Okay, in the last
few weeks, how have I been feeling. Have I been
feeling sad? Have I been engaged with my family? Have
I been isolating? These are all signs that you know,
maybe something's not right emotionally, and it's not a bad
idea to see the doctor. Sometimes it's mental, but sometimes

(15:04):
it could be a physical problem. So it's always good
to talk about these things. And I hope that we
are making it easier for patients to have conversations with
us about their mental and emotional health.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, going to going to the doctor really really works.
It's very true and especially true that two heads are
better than one when one of those heads is on
a doctor, doctor Carmon, Doctor Carmon whiteing here that yeah,
I'll bet uh, Doc Carman Whiting here on fifty plus.
So if something new comes up in a self check,

(15:38):
what level of concern warrants watching it for a little
while versus just immediately grabbing the phone before you even
put your clothes back on and calling your doctor.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
You know, I think probably the number one cause of
death in this country is heart disease. So if you're
having chest pains and feeling short of breath, that is
an emergency. Do not ignore. Don't wait a few days.
You know, you need to pick up the phone if
you if you're probably best to call nine one one.
But if you're unsure and you you should definitely call

(16:09):
your doctor's office. I would say that would be the
number one thing that would be urgent. If you feel
a lump in your breast, you know, definitely call your doctor.
Schedule and appointment. Make sure you're getting your annual mammograms.
If you see an ugly skin lesion, don't ignore those either.
Come in, let us take a look at possets.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
That's so important, the skin thing, especially in this region
of the world we're in right here, where we're always
outside and the skin is just getting pounded all the time.
I'm okay on sunscreen, but go ahead and an issue
a warning to people who aren't wearing sunscreen about what
they ought to be looking for.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah. Absolutely, you know, typically what you see, probably people
who don't wear sunscreen spend a lot of time in
the sun. They get sunburned and you get sunburned over
the years, well, it takes a tall long your skin.
What you might notice initially are some dry, slaky spots
that just looks like dry skin, but those can be
early pre cancer lesions, especially on your arms, nack your nose,

(17:12):
behind your ears, all these things, all these areas are
pretty common for skin cancers to occur.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
I'm afraid we're out of time, I guess it's fair
to say. And then I'm gonna have to kind of
wrap it up. Our bodies have alarm systems from head
to toe. But if we're not looking for those red
flags or listening to those alarms, we're gonna end up
sickred We needed to be doctor Carmen Whiteing. Thank you
so very much, my pleasure.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
You most welcome. Have a good day.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
By wow. Okay. I don't like looking at myself in
the mirror much anymore. Never really was just addicted to it,
but I didn't dislike what I saw when I was
young and fit and going to the gym a lot
and playing sports and doing all that stuff. Time is
so cruel. Berry Hill not cruel there for sure. Family

(18:02):
run restaurant on fifty nine in sugar Land at the
Sugar Creek Boulevard exit on the inbound side by the
way been around thirty something years, has some of well,
I would say, the best fish tacos. I haven't eaten
them around the world, but I've eaten them in a
lot of states in these United States of ours, in
about maybe four or five different countries, and I still

(18:22):
like berry Hill's best. I really truly do. My wife
and I've been eating there for several decades now, just
about as long as they've been around. We've been in
sugar Land that long, and always can find something on
the menu to please us. I am partial to the
fish tacos and the seafood enchiladas. That's just from being
raised and eating a ton of seafood when I was
little and loving it still to this day. They also

(18:45):
have the traditional tex Mex fair that is cooked by
the way by two people in the kitchen who have
been in there each more than ten years. They have
the traditional recipes down, and then after ten years of
doing it, they've found little subtle touches that they do
to distinguish theirs from everybody else's. They are happy to

(19:05):
come and cater an event if you have one that
you need to take care of ten people or one
hundred people. They can bring enough food to feed everybody,
and have done that right here at our offices for
quite some time. Burryhillsugarland dot com is the website Burryhillsugarland
dot com.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Now they sure don't make them like they used to.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
That's why every few months we wash him, check his fluids,
and spring on a fresh coat of wax. This is
fifty plus with Doug Pike.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Welcome back to fifty plus. Thank you for listening. I
certainly do appreciate it. I saw this and just had
to write it down and have to share it with you.
Have to share it. What is I don't know what
he's talking about? According to Vogue, I guess to presume

(19:56):
the magazine twenty twenty six is the year of the
and that's not the drug it says here, it's backside cleavage.
Have you heard of that? Will? Nor have I? Nor
did I even really need to know that. I don't
know why a magazine of its history, of its reputation

(20:21):
would choose something like that. That's just it's almost juvenile.
It's almost like something a bunch of seven year olds
would get around and just laugh about if somebody reached
over to pick something up off the floor, A bunch
of little kids in a room would laugh about that.
I really don't understand why our society is kind of

(20:45):
moving in that direction, At least part of the society
is moving in that direction, just little juvenile, potty humor.
There's no rhyme or reason for that. It makes no
sense to me. In any event, Let's move forward, shall we.
I really can't believe how many Democrats, by the way,
are not going to attend President Trump's State of the
Union address this evening about I don't know, it's several

(21:08):
dozens now a recent count. They're so divisive, so determined
to split this country apart, that they're actually just showing
a side of themselves that I don't think is going
to sit well with voters. I really don't aside. That's
just entirely disrespectful of our whole political system. I saw
something yesterday about a bunch of them who claimed that, well,

(21:31):
they say they will, and I'm sure they will be
attending what they are going to call let me see
where it went here. They're going to call this the
well it's going to be where's the name of it,
the People's State of the Union Rally. There it is,
it was buried a little bit lower. Oh, they're doing
this playing Follow the Leader to Turning Point USA show

(21:52):
that aired as an alternative to Bad Bunnies super Bowl
halftime show. And I can tell you why. Oh, by
the way, that people State of the Union Rally, that's
the first lie that's going to be told tonight on
that side, because it's only going to represent maybe I
don't know fewer well certainly fewer than half of the people,
but it won't be the last one that's told during

(22:13):
that broadcast. And I'll tell you exactly why they're doing that.
Instead of just turning their backs while they're while the
address is being given, or staying home or anything else,
they've concocted this alternative message opportunity, something that they hope
all their followers followers will will follow and watch and hear,

(22:35):
which will be it'll be one hundred percent anti Trump,
you know that. And they're doing it in hopes that
their core members will not watch President Trump's address, because
if those people do from the comfort of their own
homes without anybody yelling through a bullhorn telling them otherwise,

(22:56):
a whole lot of voters, I think who are currently
in their camp are going to realize that things are
going pretty well in our country right now, going to
realize they're being played on a lot of these issues
when they hear it explained as he and only he
can explain things like this. It's just only going to
keep getting better.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Too.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Is We've got a new manufacturing returning here. We got
our president, a very strong president, handling the issues most
important to Americans as best as he can do. And
I don't know that anybody could do it better. He's
already done things in his first year that nobody thought
were going to be possibly done. He's got tons of

(23:38):
money pouring back into this country, money that fled under
the past administration just they couldn't they couldn't operate, they
were so choked with all the regulations and rules that
were put on them. One by one, all of these
people are coming back, and we're getting some big investments
from from people and countries that wouldn't do't invest here

(24:01):
on a bet only four or three four years ago. Uh,
even the well a couple of big names seeing in
now are starting to turn against the way Democrats are
running big cities in America. They can't ignore what their
eyes are seeing any longer. They can't ignore what they're
hearing and from people who live in these cities. And
they're finally finally laying the blame where it belongs, which

(24:25):
is on the Democratic Socialists who take it over their
party and are just whittling away It's it's a very
a very concerted effort, a very well orchestrated effort. And
if we don't do something about it, and if we
don't turn this thing around, it it's not going to

(24:46):
be pretty. I think that the next three years are
going to be solid because the man in charge is
going to make sure that that he gets as much
done as he can to help us feel better about
what's going on. But if the Left gets in in
the midterms and start flaying their little powdy games about

(25:09):
we're not going to give you this and unless you
capitulate and give us a million times what you're asking for,
that's that's gonna be pretty rough. I'm going to share
this news from late this past week of yet another
American being killed by an illegal sorry illegal immigrant from India.
Guy ran a red light, caused a multi vehicle trash

(25:31):
that killed another American. This guy somehow got his CDL.
It identifies him as a non domiciled holder of that license,
which designates its status as temporary and shows an expiration
date in nineteen or twenty twenty nine. November sixteenth of

(25:52):
twenty twenty nine. That guy was going to be allowed
to just drive all over our country. Has no clue
what he's doing. I presume. Indiana Governor Mike Brawn said
he's ordered law enforcement there to ramp up checks of
CDLs on his states roads, and already those checks are
turning up a lot of people who have licenses to

(26:12):
drive commercial vehicles up to an including eighteen wheelers, but
shouldn't beat licensed to drive eighteen wheelers. It's remarkable. All right,
we gotta take a break, don't we will? They come
up so fast, they really do. Treaty Oak Developers has
a place in Central Texas. If you missed the one

(26:32):
day only sale on Saturday, that's okay. You still have
a great chance to get in on the grand opening specials.
You can get at least twenty thousand dollars off all
the lots, pay no closing costs. And we're talking about
home sites. It's a gated acreage community home sites start.

(26:53):
The smallest ones you can get are an acre and
a half. That's a lot of running around room. That's
a lot of elbow room between neighbors. You can get
them also up to four acres. We got concrete roads
up there. There's no mud taxes, beautiful amenities, just a
Texas ranch theme that you know you're gonna love.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Right.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
It's about ten miles west of Coldspring and that puts
it right in just the guts of the hill country.
It's just nice, beautiful rolling hills, beautiful scenery from every vantage.
And all you gotta do is go up there and
pick the one you want. You can buy now and
build later. You can hang on to your land as

(27:32):
a smart investment. You make the call, You do it
the way you want to do it. Experience a country
lifestyle that is designed to last. Whitetail ranch dot Com
is the name of the place. Go check it out online.
Whitetailranch dot Com.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Aged to perfection. This is fifty plus with Dougpike. All right,
welcome back to fifty plus. Fourth and final segment starts now.
I heard from the man who owns medical aesthetics by
Angel like that. Somehow Someway and I found out what
it was. It was some switch that we had to
make to satellite, So that Will knows more about it

(28:08):
than me, But I won't bother him with that. He's
doing all kinds of stuff. So here's the deal.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
He said that his commercial, my read of his commercial
went out after I talked about going and getting a
simple blood test to see what the right path for
you or anybody else you want to bring with you is.
And that's what they do. They after that blood test,
they'll decide whether you need hormone stuff, maybe some peptides,

(28:34):
maybe GLP one. I don't know what all those tides are.
I just know high and low tide because I fish
metabolic change it. You might need some clinical options that
will boost your body a little bit, maybe just a
vitamin deficiency, who knows, but that blood work will show that.
And then, over a sixteen week period of getting just
the right amounts of just what you need so that

(28:54):
you don't overdo it or underdo it, all of a
sudden you come out feeling better, looking better, got energy,
you got confidence again. You're probably sleeping better it's a
really it's a really simple thing, but it does so
much for you, and it doesn't sixteen weeks to retrain
your brain and retrain your body to be on a

(29:16):
better path. That's not a lot. They've got locations in
Sugarland and Cyprus. You can call now get an appointment.
They also do some some procedures in there to get
rid of things or make things look different faster. But
either way, you're gonna get professional attention from people who
know what they're doing and will help you get back

(29:37):
on that path to feeling better, looking better. Little pep
in your step, got that confident swagger going. That's what
you're gonna get out of Medical Aesthetics by Angelica Calling
for appointments eight three to two nine three nine nine
three three zero eight three two nine three nine nine
three three zero. All right, let's move on. I've got

(30:00):
two pages of stuff here, and I've got about what
maybe a half a page of time? Will three four five,
I got five three nineteen six. Oh, this is awesome.
We've got lots of time to talk about good stuff.
All right. I took care of that. I took care
of that, and now I'm gonna go to this as
if anybody could be surprised about this. Really, The Department

(30:22):
of Justice has joined a federal lawsuit that accuses the
Unified Let's see the Los Angeles Unified School District, second
largest in the nation, of anti white discrimination within a
program that illegally sorts students by race to determine funding
and school admissions. Attorney General Pambondi said, and I quote,

(30:46):
treating Americans equally is not a suggestion, it's a core
constitutional guarantee that educational institutions must follow.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
I tell that to the LAUSD. They weren't following it,
but they will be soon. I bet they will be soon.
They'll put on a big show and have some somebody
in front of a camera to say that they just
want everything to go right for the students. But that's
not really what's going on. And I'll give you another
example of that right now. It is going to do

(31:17):
something else, but I'll go straight to this. Up in
New York, high school Spanish teacher been placed on administratively
for helping her students form a Club America chapter, which
is the Young People's version of Turning Point USA, founded
by Charlie Kirk and the late Charlie Kirk assassinated conservative icon.

(31:38):
She wasn't pulled out of the classroom just for that,
you know, she wasn't. She got yanked for daring to
encourage students to be independent thinkers and share their ideas.
Heaven forbid, share their conservative ideas with students who aren't
fully indoctrinated yet. That's why she was yanked as usual.

(31:58):
The district said she's on the sidelines while they investigate
the matter, and that everything they do, everything they do,
and I'll quote them here, they do to quote, provide
a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for every individual end quote.
What about individuals who are conservative? What about individuals who

(32:21):
are not progressive or far left? Where's their safe welcoming environment?
Seems to me somebody who had that on their minds
just got booted out of your classrooms. That doesn't make
sense to me. In New York City, here's something else
that doesn't make sense. Mayor Mayor mcdanny donnie and his
anti police rhetoric got policemen that just pelted with snowballs.

(32:46):
I mean, these people were having a snowball fight. Okay,
there's big blizzard up there. The young people are out
having their fun and throwing snowballs at each other in
Washington Square Park wherever that is. I think it's in
not sure, I think it's in Manhattan. Anyway, several officers
ended up getting hit in their faces by these snowballs.

(33:07):
And part of why, to a young audience is because
mom Donnie has called the NYPD racist, anti queer, a
threat to the public safety, and more than once he's
just recommended the defunding and dismantling of NYBPD and just
replacing them all with social workers. How would you like

(33:27):
to be a social worker and try to take that
job and go respond to some guy who's holding a
knife to somebody's throat. That doesn't work. That doesn't work.
The state many of the state officials, through their thank goodness,
took the saane approach and called for the arrest of
anybody who goes after police officers, whether it's with hands
or fists or snowballs or whatever. And I hope they

(33:50):
can use whatever technology they have left in that town,
in that city to find some of these people and
arrest them and make examples of them so that others
don't try to do the same thing. It's just nuts
by the way, speaking to Mom, Donnie, he wanted to
hire hundreds of people. And you've probably heard this story
all already because it's gone around pretty fast. He wanted

(34:11):
to hire a bunch of people to shovel that snow.
I think he was paying thirty one dollars an hour
or something like that. And he insisted that anybody who
applies has to bring two valid forms of ID, including
a photo ID, along with the application. But if you
want to vote in New York, if you want to
go do that, just walk up, demand a ballot vote,
and then I don't know what, go to the end

(34:31):
of the line and do it again until they run
out of ballots. That's how some elections go in these
in these parts, in these times. I've got one will
or two one and a half? Now, okay, I yeah,
I'm gonna go to this. Robert de Niro used to
be really well. I guess he's probably still a pretty

(34:52):
good actor if he's working anymore. I haven't seen anything
he's done in a very long time.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
But he got on. He got in front of a
camera somewhere and whined and just went on and on.
He'd exhibited his lack of knowledge really about President Trump
when a very whiny message throughout which he criticizes our
president accuses him of doing exactly what the left's been
doing for the past ten or fifteen years. It's just

(35:17):
it's so it's deflection, it's gaslighting. It's all they're doing
is saying that we're doing what they are doing. And
because what they're doing, they know is horrible and if
they try to defend it, it'll just look worse for him.
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
No.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Two, Robert de Niro, in case he's listening, or you know,
if he if you know him, call him and have
him listen to this. Here's what I'm gonna tell you.
Nobody cares what you think. Bob maybe they call him Bob,
or they call him Bob will or do you know,
We'll just go with mister de Niro. I'll be respectful, Okay,
nobody cares what you think, and nobody's going to change
their vote one way or the other based on what

(35:57):
some actor, some retired zmy retired whatever it is actor
it is telling them, well, I take that back. Actually,
after hearing you, some of the Democrats who listen to
what you say might come over to the Republican team.
I'm just saying, all right, we're out of here. Thanks
for listening, I'll see tomorrow. Audios.
