I got scammed out of thousands of dollars for a
fake meeting, greet and tailgate packages.

So they thought that.

They were going to go meet and green hand. There's
tailgate packages. They spend thousands of dollars and over six
hundred people. So if you're going to a show, make
sure that you're confirming that these things are actually happening.

Something like that should have been stopped before you know
you actually got them. But it sounds to be like
six hundred people showed up, like hey, excuse me, excuse me,
excuse me.

So somebody said he was a complete jerk when I

at the meet and greet, they were off by themselves,
and I could see as a fan, like I work here,

it's weird because it's just like you have two seconds

as big, but when I saw him and I yelled

know we don't play a child sport, but that dude.

So I just say, every now and then, everybody just
has a bad day and they just don't feel like
me and nothing, not even famous. All right, what do

Johnny's house. Now, so yesterday I went home. I said, okay,
I gotta deal with this, this car with this kid,
and I said, I get in the car.

He goes where we're going. We got to figure it out,
and we got in it. Then this and then turned
started right out, starting it right up like nothing.

I'm like, oh, okay, maybe because it was parked for
a year and some months that they needed a day
to season.

Like a stake season it all up there. Why, the
batteries probably needed to get recharged. And when you drive,
you know, the alternator gets some juice to the battery.

So yeah, so we rode around the neighborhood a couple
of times. Then today we're gonna take it to the
street and then take it there for more streets and
until you know, August eleventh, when he'll start driving to school.
So as of yesterday, and Brian tell you, boy Corey,
thank you, But I said, something magical happened. Lord answer
my prayers, because I'm like, this is gonna be a headache.
Either it's gonna be fixed or we just gonna have to,
you know, train it in for something. Yesterday I found

out that my my high school track coach died. Listen,
this is the man that you know I told you
With track, I just wanted to get through it. I
thought it was fun to do. I knew us fast,
but you know, and he told me said, look, you
work hard. I guarantee that you'll get a scholarship. The
scholarships what because my thing was the land factory of
the military. I say that all the time on the air.

So he made me believe that I and I did
work hard, and I did get a scholarship, and in
college I fell in love radio. And here I am
so trying to get all the guys together. He was
an amazing track coach. I mean we won state championship
in track for like fifteen years. I mean, he was
that good. So I'm hitting all the boys up and saying,
I think he They're having a memorial at the high
school on the on the fifteenth of August, so I

think I'm gonna go home.

And are you going to go to it?

I mean really he was like and he called me Johnny,
and I hated that cause, like my name is john
he's that ketch. Yeah, he's like Johnny, I need you
to run that four about one coach. You do know
my name is Yeah. So did that and I talked
to my mom and that was about it, Miss Ray
about you.

I was good.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, just like one of
those virtual ones go over blood work and stuff.

Uh, I'm still in a flare.

I guess I just can't get my thyroid under control,
which is wild to me.

But yeah, so I had to do that. And then
what else said?

Oh, I made it stuffed peppers yesterday, okay.

And then I did like a workout.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
That stuff peppers got the ground beef in it, right, yeah? Yeah?

And rice and yeah right.

I never can get it the hole together. Really tried
it twice.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
And the way that you cut them, because I cut
them twice, like so mine are like laying flat.

Instead just like yeah, yeah, okay.

So like I'll cut it in half and then cut
that like I'll.

Put on trying to make that cone you can build up.

I've used.

I used to do that, but like I don't want
a whole pepper anymore, and so yeah, okay, I cut
it in half and let it lay flat.

I guess the the juice and the meat just did something.

And he was tipped over. Yeah, it did not look
like the photo in the.

Menu before, but they came out pretty good.

I was cool, did a whole bunch of stuff around here,
and then my son's afternoon show on the sports station
doesn't start until three, so I got some work done
and then we ate lunch together while we show prepped, okay,
and then I did his afternoon sports show with him
on the ninety six to nine in the game.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
It was fun, man, Yeah, yeah, no, it was cool.
The host hit me up and you know, he listened
because he's on vacation, but he listened for a minute
to make sure the show wasn't getting yeah yeah, and
so he had some good things to say. And I
was so impressed with my son, like he he killed it. Yeah,
Like I was concerned right up until the second that
he started, and I'm like, you know what, he's good.

Speaker 8 (08:47):
I feel like I would be so nervous.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yeah, yeah, I know, he killed it. I was I
was so impresed, and we had fun and we just
talked sports and talked junk and it was cool. It
was a good time.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
It seems like that when he was sitting in there,
he paid attention lot, you know, so he knew all right.
And I tell any young person in this industry be
prepared because you don't know when you're gonna get your shot. Yeah,
and if you get your shot, take it, you know,
and there's somebody here. Unfortunately, he took a shot and
he didn't do well, and I'm trying to get his
confidence back up.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
But I'm like, dude, it happens.

Speaker 8 (09:17):
Yeah, you make mistakes.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
And from that, I'm telling you my first month here,
we did I say, six months here, we had a
target where I mentioned it before, Yeah, and I had
one hundred and six keys and not once did I
put pushed the clutch down. Yeah, and can you I
just I'm gonna be fired. I'm gonna be firing there today.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
The whole program director called me in the middle of
night when I was doing overnights and he was like,
what was that?

Speaker 8 (09:40):
What was that? Break?

Speaker 1 (09:41):
My son wasn't perfect yesterday, but yeah, but I was like, wow,
because he's still producing the show, but he's also hosting
the show, and that's a whole nother animal. You don't
you're not used to for sure. Yeah, he did a
great job. We had a lot of fun. It was cool.
I'm back today and tomorrow as well. We did have
some listeners that were texting in. They said I sound
different over there. I'm like, well, like the way I
talk and they're like, no, like your voice sounds different,

But it's because the mics, Yeah, the compression and stuff.

Does it called your dad on air?

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah? I love that.

Yeah.

I mean we don't we don't really address each other
by name, but yeah, but he mentions I'm his dad.

Yeah, not calling my boy.

When did yeah, when I become briand to you you

Real parent come across from if we did that.

They had a segment where you do you bet it
or forget it or whatever, and I said on this one,
I'll bet the house and he said, oh, don't bet
the house. Where am I going to live? I was like,
that's true, you still live.

At my house. But it was fun. It was a
good time.

So I'll do it again today and again and again
on Friday.

And adding on that we come back, we will talk
about what are the proud moments that you've had so far,
and I'm sure there'll be many more proud moments you
had as a parent in your Like Brian said that
had a very proud moment when he saw his son's like,
he's doing what he's he's doing what he's doing the
damn thing.

That first ninety seconds. I was like, Okay, here we go.
Am I gonna have to jump in and take over
because that's my mindset because I've been doing this twenty
five years.

Yeah, yeah, no, man, he was spent back and driving

I got some of the teachers saying, well, we can't

go because you know some people that my kid has
meet the teacher that day. We're starting at six Yeah,

We didn't want to do it at night because we

your time on your way to work at least it's

Yesterday Brian had a very proud moment. He was doing
the sports show on our sister station with his son.
His son already produces that show, and it was two
of you. He said, it was you got you had
that moment.

Yeah, the first ninety seconds when he played the intro
and then he jumped in like the host. I was like, oh,
excuse me, okay, And it was cool. Really, it kind
of relaxed me because I was concerned that, you know,
because he's never hosted. Before he's done. He does shifts
on on like you know, music stations, that's totally different.
It's a totally different animal. Oh yeah, talk radio, Oh

it's different.

Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
But he carried himself, had a good cadence. He didn't
rush through things. He hid every point. I was like wow.
So like in the first minute, I'm like, man, this
is this is good. He's good. And I mean I
was proud of him, you know, a senior night for football,
when we walked out, and when he graduated high school.
But I feel like those are things that you know,
no offense, everybody does, but like this is not like

he worked for this, Like he learned the ropes and
started putting up tents like I did, and you know,
outworked other people like I did, and now he's doing it.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
And I was like, wow, look at you.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Proud moments you sit back and you sit there and
go as a parent, I did something right because you
have that moment.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Now, you know, in about three weeks, they're gonna do
something to get on your nerves. But for this moment
in life, it's not gonna be three weeks. I'm talking
about my household and three days I'm gonna see the
e pass bills something. But for that moment, for that moment,
it was all that for me, my kid, you know.
I it's him and I and we talk all the time,

I mean more than I want to talk.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
But he likes to talk.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
So I'm always telling him life lessons and and you know,
work harder, do more, don't expect just to be you know. Okay,
So he did extremely well on his SATs. I think
he is sixty points from having a perfect perfect SAT.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
And he said, Daddy, miund if I take it twice,
I think three times this year.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
I think I can get it. Son.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Every school you want to get in your past what
they want? He goes, yeah, but I take it as
a personal challenge. You mean you want to work harder,
you want to do more? Yes, sign up, now pay
for all of it. Yes, yes, yes. And then two
hours later, I'm like, so you're just gonna wash the dishes,
just sit down to say, just look at it.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
You're gonna watch himself. This is an essay. He question,
you figure it out.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
I worked all day, cook dinner and all you Oh
my bad.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
But yeah, for that moment, I'm like, good son.

I'm like you keep and I'm like to keep that
attitude through life, son, through life, don't just keep going higher.
He's like, all right, so I can do it. Sign up,
let's make it happen. Man, Ray, how about you for.

Your twins Honestly, I think it would just be kind
of like going out on the softball baseball field, Yeah,
just because it's like it is very nerve wrecking to
be a part of a team. And like, you know,
I think the first couple of games when they were young, young,
they would like always leave the dugout. All the kids
were like leaving the dugouts some see their parents like.

But like when there was a full game where I
didn't hear from Sienna at all, like she was dougout
is cheering. She was focused on the game. Like I
was like, Wow, I'm like proud.

Of her because she's just like tuned in on like
a hobby.

Yeah you know.

Speaker 8 (15:50):
Yeah, so I loved that.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
I look back on my sports days and every game
I was always nervous, and I wish I had just
had more fun with it. Yeah, you know, but I
was always nervous. Every track meeting, I was like, man,
I got butterflies, and you.

Know, i'na tell I was too. But that's what I
always tell them, like, you guys have to have fun.

I have too, yeah, you know. And then the thing
is it's in you, So whatever's in you gonna come out.

Being nervous at that moment, ain't gonna do dance.

It's funny. Yesterday when we walked we walked into separate
studios because there's the setup like ours used to be. Okay,
there's glass between us. Oh so he's on one side of
your yeah, oh okay. So when I walked out of
his and in the mind, I said, hey, man, you
know what, just have fun. That's what I told him,
because like, what are you stressing about?

Yeah, and I think I think a lot of times
we hear that, but you have to really have fun
with it, man. But yeah, all right, So we want
to find out from you when did you have a
proud parent moment? As parents, you do all you can,
but that one moment happens and he goes, I did
something right.

And again, like I said, for me, it was only
twelve three hours later, it's all changed. But for that moment,

just Brian and his kid, and he sat back and said,

And that's a very proud moment, and that's what we

So, my daughter went to school for journalism and sports media.
She took an internship with an NFL team.

As a photographer.

Within a year she was full time and within four
seasons she is now head photographers.

and she's living the dream.

she's always been very fortunate to do very well in school,

They're like, Okay, here's here's an area of music that
is growing. Yes, and they need to be highlighted now

The CEO basically came out and said that they're sad
and obviously by their decision, but adding the new category

because so the BTS's of the world, they'll they'll win
a Grammy in the regular genre. And his thing was,

and maybe eventually move into the BTS stratosphere.
