was left legs first roll. Really yeah, I'm like, ay,
we ain't going.

So it brought in one hundred and forty five million
just this weekend. So what they're talking about is that
it's going to be around one point six billion global. Lovely,
So Christopher Nolan's Odyssey is actually doing pretty well.

I mean I haven't seen Spider Man, but Spider Man's
really good. You know. I like the way it was

Netflix is promoting its new thriller The Last House with
a billboard with a guy trapped inside of it.

starting today. It is six eighteen Johnny's house on the
first day of school. It's gonna be hot. It's gonna
feel like one hundred and five with the heat in
decks mostly Sunday, thirty percent chance of rain. It is
eighty right now. All right, first day school? How do
you feel about that? One man? All weekend long. I
had to go over to Olympia High School on Saturday
morning at six am to senior parking lot painting. Yep.

Now Brian told me about it. I said, hey man,
we're trying to paint this. Your suggestions say, hey, listen,
may you need to get there. They're gonna run out
of paint, and I'm thinking of myself, maint nobody gonna
runut of pat.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, you want to get some paint the color choice
you won't won't be a paid Oh big business.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I went in. I got a gallon and a quarter
gallon of two different paints, some rollers with the big
stick they're rolling on, some tape and what else, and
a couple of items I did even checked the price.
Went up to the register one hundred and seventy six dollars. Whoa, whoa,
And the lady saw me there because it was self checked,
and she goes, is he high school student? I said yeah,

and she said and she I don't know who she
was in her name, went through every item and found
any discounts that they had in any system anywhere. Nice
and I got it down like one hundred and twelve.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
That's nice. I was like, whoa, I remember the year
I went. The guy was very not happy. The paint guy.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Oh yeah, it was like, oh come on, it was.
They were lined up and I was trying to be
nice and said, I'm sure you're dealing with this all day.
I'm trying to paint a parking lot and I need
to know, and he goes, what colors? And he told me,
he said, you need a gallon us and it was simple.
I got my paint and got out of there. So
Saturday we got them started painting it and I didn't know,
I had no idea what I wasn't get into. It

was hundreds of hundreds of parents out there doing the
same thing, and I'm out there painting and I feel
like I got hit by a truck.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah, my girl wasn't feeling well. So I went over
to hang out with her and we were gonna watch
a movie. And at eight o'clock, I'm like, I swear,
I think I lasted three minutes the movie started, I
was gone. I slept twelve hours, woke up yesterday, hung
out with the kid, getting him ready for the first
day of school, getting the driving thing done and all
of this. I think he's really excited. They don't start
till tomorrow because it's only I don't know why Orange

and Polk decided to do it on Tuesday and everybody
else in the world did it today. So getting ready
for the first day of school. Did that yesterday. Did
a lot of talking about school and driving. And I
need to know where you are at all times, and
if you're somewhere you're not supposed to be and you
get a ticket or something, don't call me because I
ain't coming. He looked at me, Huh, if you're somewhere
you're not supposed to be, and you didn't tell me

where you were, and something happens, don't call me. He's like, Okay,
good to know, Ray, how are you?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
It was good. On Friday, I had to meet the teacher,
so I there and did that. I like their teachers.
I'm very excited for them.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
And then after that I went to the Cat Cafe. Yeah,
I did go, yep, Fables and fur. They came in
and brought some cats for our Dojia cat gave away,
and so I brought the twins there. They had so
much fun, really loved it. I saw Dilly dally and
so wow said. And then Saturday morning I woke up.
I had a remote over at Dick's Sporting Goods, which

was really cool because it was a grand.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Opening over in Lake Nona.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah, and they had some magic players, they had a DJ.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
It was really cool.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
It was a good turnout.

If you live in the Lake Nona area, it's amazing shopping.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
But that traffic, Oh yeah, that that plaza is gonna
be bum Can you imagine Christmas in that area?

Huh no. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
So and then after that we kind of just hung
out at the house, and then yesterday same thing, hung
out around the house.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
We had some friends over. That's pretty much it all.

It was cool.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Friday was a super long day for me, so I
didn't do anything Friday night, just kind of chilled, and
then Saturday we did resort pass. Do resort passes legit, Yeah,
the resort pools just about anywhere, and so we did
a resort pass with the cabana at Signia Hilton Bottom Creek,
which over by Disney Springs.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
And the weather turned out to be really really nice,
Like we did have to.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Get out of the pool once for a little bit
of thunder, but then like twenty minutes later everybody back
in didn't rain at all, which was really nice. So
we just spent the day just chilling, floating around the
Lazy River and food and stuff, and like you get
to go and you don't have to like spend the night,
so you can just drive home afterwards.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
They have like a room where you can change or
or how does that work? Well, you use all the
amenities that are there, like you could go.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Into there and change. They do a lot of times.
Some of the resort pass spots offer day rooms. Where
you can get a room for the day that you
keep until like seven pm, so you can go in
there if you wanted to.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
We didn't do that.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
We just did a cabana. You could do as simple
as just a like a you know, some of them
twenty dollars passed to spend in the pool.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
We didntana because they had a cabana available.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
But yeah, but it was cool, like, yeah, if you're
looking for a spot to hang out, but you don't
want to go crazy, resort passes legit. So we did
that and then we were gonna go out Saturday night.
We were like debating and then it started raining. We're like,
all right, well that made our decision for us. So yeah,
and we had.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Been out all day floating around the pool and stuff.
So the son is raining, man, Yeah, it really was.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
And then yesterday my wife decided she's back on the
health kick again. She gets on and gets off, and
gets on and gets off, and now she's really on.
So she's got this whole like someone developed a plan
specifically for her, Like she sent them all her information,
all of her vitals, all the like access to all
of her apps, so like the show her activity and
they sent back a literally start to finish.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Plan everything to do every day.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Even as far as like what to buy at the store,
how to make it, all that stuff. So she went
crazy at Costco yesterday and started the meal prep stuff. Well,
I played Xbox.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I love, you know, I love the excitement of doing
it and the food and everything is set up. But
the fact that in my mind I got to do it,
I don't want to do it. Yeah, you know what
I mean. She wants to be told exactly what you do.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
That's the only way I can.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Do well, she won't do it.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
So that's why she loves this because and they even
talk to her like it's a person that does it.
So it's not like a computer like like they're like, girl, please,
you don't get up at like off the off the
you know, from in front of the computer all day long.
What do you expect? Well, you're right, Yeah, I like it.
I mean I love the meals are hearty and everything.
But I'm like, damn one maunt a bag of chimp.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, cupcake especially, oh yeah, oh, we have no snacks
in our house. We have none. He'll tell you got
his snacks and up we got him. He just don't
know what they are. Maybe I'll put him now, I'll
put him out now that some yeah, right.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Now, by default I gotta be healthy, of course, of
course you DoD.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's how it works man, All right. Listen, being at
the first day of school, we got that simple question
what are you wearing? Or what are your kids wearing?
Thursday of school? We don't talk about it. Next on
Johnny's house, pretty six. It is Monday, first day of
school for everybody but orange and pull and as you
get ready, I think high schools are the first to
get ready. I mean mostly sunny with the heating decks
of one hundred and five. It is eighty right now.

(11:08):
Football Friday starts here in a couple of weeks, and
we are looking for high school cheer team, football players,
a band, all of them or just a couple of them,
come down to the studio. We've been doing it for
a year, for years, and we are now looking to
finalize schools. First come, first serve. So the first ones
to reach out to Ray and say our school would
like to come, you will be booked. And again, you
just can't be on the chest squad and say you

(11:29):
want to do it. You gotta have somebody that administrator.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
We had a couple at least see your administrator on it,
so I have their contacts.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
You know, this paperwork that has to be done and
you're off campus and be approved, approved and all that
good stuff. You know how it is. I want to
find out the first day of school, what are you wearing? Now?
For me? I remember the first day of school. I
didn't sleep the night before. I was I was always nervous.
I think even up until high school, you always have
those butterflies because you don't know what to expect. You know,

(11:55):
I know what teachers I have. I know I got
Miss so and so as my homeroom and Brian and
my home room. So at least I know somebody in there.
And we probably can't sit together because we're gonna probably
get in trouble kind of thing. But I would not
wear my new clothes until like the second or third day.
You know. I'd wear some summer clothes that wasn't wore out.
Now I would wear my new shoes. We always got
new sneakers before the first day of school. Now I

(12:17):
would wear a new kick. Now they weren't like Nikes
or anything like that was probably some some Chuck All
Stars or some pro kids. They don't make pro kids,
and I I used to wear all these They didn't
have these varieties back then, right.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
It's so funny. They used to wear the Chuck Taylors.
But they're expensive now. Back then they were Now they are,
oh for sure, So I would probably wait until then.
I'd probably wear like some old jeans and a nice
shirt and then you know, slowly like the day if
school started a Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Bang, there it is, I'm breaking it out right. How
was you? How were you? How were you on the
first day school?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
I was always nervous.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, you went to school? How many years you and
your sister apart?

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Two years?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
So like how many schools did you guys go to
at the same time?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Three?

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, so she was already there and you joined her. Yep, yep.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
So she was in eighth grade like when I was
in sixth grade. So yeah, so it was really cool
to have my sister there. But I was always still
very nervous because like I didn't know who was in
my classes. I would definitely wear new clothes on the
first day. Really, yeah, I remember just being excited for
my new backpack and being organized.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
No, we used to lay it. I used to lay
mine out. Oh yeah, man, this shirt with these pants
and these shoes and just just put it on the
band spread.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Yeah. I still do that to this day.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Ever, since I was in elementary school, I picked out
my clothes and I still do it out and back.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah. Yeah not let me changed this up right here. Yeah.
And always slept really hard the night of the first
day school because I was exhausted the night before. Bra.
How about you, Brian, we only got that.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I can remember new clothes one year ever, really like
we we just wore whatever.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah, the same stuff that I remember.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
One year my mom basically went into debt leavest back
then with layaway because our friends parents owned the store. Okay,
so they left pay stuff off over the summer. So
that year, I remember it was my sixth grade year,
I did wear new clothes.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
I was like, wow, this is crazy.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
And I got to order started off that day or
did you did you slow it in the first ding
first day I saw something I ever done it sixth grade,
first time I ever got like real new clothes before.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
So I was like you and I only had enough
for like three or four days.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
But back then, like I, you know, it was kind
of like I was skating into the skater stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
So it was, you know, like pinks and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
And then I had a pair of vans that we
ordered that had come in just in time, but my
mom got to pay it all off over the course
of like six months.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Now what was this sixth grade? Now, did you pick
it out or she picked it out for you? I did?

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Oh, she let We got to go to them, our
friends they had like a surf skate store. Yeah, we
got to go pick It's called Native casuals back in
the we got to go pick it out. Oh yeah,
and uh and everything. That was the first year that
I did that, and the and I still remember what
I wore the first day that year.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
My parents, my mom and dad would go to the
go to store and I beat up my brothers sisters,
and then one day they would shot for each kid.
And then when your day came, they gave you a
big kmart bag. This is your stuff. Oh nice, we
picked out nothing.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Oh yeah, wow.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Are you paying for it? You ain't paying for it.
I didn't have a backpack until high school. Really, Okay,
now I've been in school so long. I mean, I've
been at school so long. We had personal lockers, locker,
I had a locker.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Yeah, we had lockers in high school and then they
stopped it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
No, I was still in high school when they had them.
But when we go back to the high school, a
lot now.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
We had I had. The middle school and high school
had lockers. Really yeah, but I never had. I didn't
have a backpack until high school. Wow, I remember I
got I remember my first I just under my arm
until I could get to my locker in middle school
and steth and put them in. But in elementary school
you didn't change classes, so you had a desk for
your stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
So what did you do with your skateboard in your books?
You just heard it.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I had a teacher that would let me leave my
skateboard in her class all day.

Speaker 7 (16:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yeah, would drop it off first thing in the morning
and then come back and get it at the end
of the day.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
So you're kicking with one hand. And I didn't take
anything home me.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
I put it all my locks oh oh yeah, that's right,
came home and came back the next morning.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Man, kids, they don't understand having a locker was like
having your first apartment. This is my Yeah, put pictures.
You need to tell you and.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Listen, I'm gonna meet check your locker. And then you
get to your locker, they standing there. Yeah, you know
what I'm saying. And you know you got like two minutes,
all right, dad? And then once they leave, you run
off because late for class. But then when you break up,
you had to ask and you change lockers because you
don't want to live in the same neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Oh no, person you broke up with, so now I
need to change it.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
I just always hated having the bottom locker because I'd
be like, oh my gosh if I bend over and
I'm wearing a skirt, and I'm like, girls should never
have the bottom locker.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
We always had long ones, we had top and bottom. Yeah,
you knew when you were a relationship ray when it's like,
oh I got this combination. Yeah because math.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Your math class is by my locker, so you ain't
got to go home to your locker. You could come
by my locker, say what's hey, just throw your booking there,
girls in the locker.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
I never gave anybody my combinations.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
You already love then, right? You in love? You knew
you were in love. It's like giving somebody your apartment key. Hey,
here's here's my locker, here's my combinations.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Strange.

The locker environment and the bus environment is something that
like kids will never fully respect because you don't.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Know went on the stuff that went on during those
times you would get arrested and go to jail. We
got beat up on the bus. It was understood. They
had freshman Oil Love, which, man, if you're a freshman,
you got beat up on that day and everybody knew
he's new administrator knew. The pe teachers loved it.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
It's like you had freshman Friday too, and I swear
they put out more trash cans on Freshman Friday because
you would always put the freshman's in the trash can.
But I was like, the faculty is definitely backing this up.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Do that today.

Yeah today, I be in jail by third p oh, yeah,
all right, I.

Man, I'm going on twenty plus years.

Well, first, you know, everybody coming in with fresh new
pair of air Forces who you know, the jeans tied
up with the shoe strings. But uh, but the biggest
one I always remember ready to go to school was
the super donut.

What's the super donut?

Speaker 7 (19:37):
They used to give you these donuts, these warm donuts
and in plastic warm or two donut holes, and like
I used to always you know, trade or hey, you're
going to go to breakfast, let me get your donut. Man,
that donut was hold you down all days.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
So every kid got a donut.

Speaker 7 (19:57):
Well, I mean if you if you got there in
time for breakfast, oh yeah, you go through the lunch
line to get you that super donut with that chocolate
milk or that that white milk, and hey, it was
the best thing. I always remember that.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yeah. I think that that that the chocolate donut thing.
I think there was the way of you getting more
fiber and cleaning out your system because that chocolate don't
that chocolate milk goes through you.

Speaker 8 (20:18):
Yeah, hey it did. But it was one of the
best things.

You know, get there and.

Eat greatman out school for twenty some years. He still
remember the super donuts.

We were just talking about the few days ago, so
that when I heard it this morning, you guys talking about,

And then the financial aspects, like do save money with
them being in school because I'm not paying for camps

them stressing already over like school work, like they're already
in second grade is like a pivotal year and keep
hearing and so I just like I worried that they're
going to get so like stressed out over homework, and

I just don't remember. And again I've been to school
for a long time. I just don't remember being stressed
out like that until like middle school, I know, but like.

It's it started in kindergarten. To them, they had like
books of like homework every single week.

And our schools weren't graded back then though, Like you know,

The moment my window rolled off, the teacher told me

the school for me. So my window went up, my

So one of the emotions that he's growing up so fast,
like you can't protect him, you're gonna miss him. What
were you feeling?

Honestly, a mixture of all of it. He's my little buddy,
and he's just he's with us twenty four to seven
for the most part, and sending him off, you know,
to a school and with new teachers and people who
don't know him that well, it's a little nerve wracking
and just wondering how he's gonna do. I just I
hope he has such an amazing first day.
