Speaker 1 (00:00):
Buy from higher top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids.
We're talking about what matters most to you in West Michigan.
Join the conversation now at six one six seven seven
four twenty four twenty four. At six one six seven
seven four twenty four twenty four, it's West Michigan Live
with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Oh, good morning, Good Friday, folks, and a big weekend
up ahead, as we've got lots of celebrations under way.
But there's news happening each and every day. It's funny,
it never stops. And every day there's something that's massive,
news that audits own would be like on prior years,

(00:41):
the biggest thing going. But we deal with that like
on a multiple basis, teaching every day. Now it's wild
and of course it keeps the markets moving, it keeps
us on our toes. We'll make sure that we keep
you up to day for it all. During our big today,
Who's weather and traffic, His stories of the day, we

(01:04):
are talking about what matters most in West Michigan and beyond.
This is the Big Three Now, lots going down at
the White House, big shakeups, lots going down in Iran,
right now. In fact, we've got the the latest on
the operation there and a story out of Grand Rapids

(01:26):
right here in our own backyard. We'll have the updated
details out of the Prosecutor's office coming up in just moments.
How are good friends at Heartlett Home Mortgage. Yes, Dave
Gatil and the team wanted to help you. They've helped
us save thousands. If you reach out to them today,
they can help you do the same thing at h
H and Linden dot Com Bridges next, and then power plants, folks.

(01:51):
That's what the president is saying. He's urging Iran and
the regime to make a deal. Facts that that is
not just a threat, that's a promise. They've already taken
out one big beautiful bridge, so to speak. He says, Look,
you got to get to the table before it's too

(02:13):
late and there's nothing left to come of what still
could become a great country. I think these messages not
only to negotiators now, but to the world and also
to the people on the ground and are on so
that they understand. I guess in this way that he's
he's got he's got their back. Speaking of which Pam

(02:36):
Bondi is out as Attorney General. Now this is a clarification.
I'm not going to use the word fired. Kind of
like Christy Um has a similar communication coming out of
the White House and the President on Truth Social particularly
for this move. She will assume a role in the
private sector, he writes over on Truth Social praising Bondi,

(03:01):
saying she'll take a new role, calling her a long
time ally quote great American patriot and loyal friend who
did a tremendous job cracking down on crime. Well, there
were lots of folks who were frustrated with BONDI wanted
to see more there, maybe even some members the President
wanted to see more action those arrests you've been talking about.

(03:22):
In the meantime, Todd blanche is in that role, he
was the Deputy ag Some suggesting that folks could step
in one of them. Leez Eldon is an EPA right now,
would be a fantastic far as everything we've heard, could
be a fantastic replacement in that role. Of course, you
remember LESE. Eldon from the State.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Of New York.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
And yes, there is so much still yet to come, folks,
But out of grand rapids, you wonder what the whether
that the way it's been. If we'll really see any
protests or anything big happening here, No charges with that
big news story of the announcement made no charges in
the death of the queen Johnson, Kent County Prosecutor Chris

(04:08):
Becker making that announcement just the other day, and of
course that's the right way to go. I've been following
that story now as closely as some of the others.
But family, as you can imagine, not happier than the
usual suspects as well. Those attorneys ven Johnson and Cramb
and the rest of them that liked it, well, they
liked it sort of make their way in, don't they,
and crowbar themselves in the situations. We'll see how that flies.

(04:32):
You know, we don't have time for massive protests and
movements right now all across the board, you know, Soros
and those guys, they can only fund one at a
time really, so they've all gone out and bought their
around flags right now. So you go to tell the
rest of these folks, you know, Venezuela and the Cube
and now too right Mexico. But boy, I really feel

(04:58):
bad for is Ukraine, those people just and the flag
sales just not like what they used to be for Ukraine,
and it's it's tough, but not if you're in the flag
sales business, you know, because of constantly having a new
protest each and every day and what just makes those
things fly off the shelves. Used to be you'd sell

(05:18):
a lot of American flags. Maybe you'd sell some. I know,
the Tiger's getting ready to have opening day to day,
maybe you sell Tiger flag. But nowadays those folks in
the flag business, boy, I mean, they got to keep
them international. You never know which country could be next.
It really does keep you on your toes. Speaking of which,
let's keep him on the on his toes this morning.

(05:40):
Kyle Olson in the Midwestern The Midwestern or Dot News.
It's a free for all Friday. We'll hear from you
here in a moment. But first up Kyle on the line.
Good morning, sir, welcome.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
In, Good morning, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I think we're in the wrong business. I think we
should be selling flags. You and I we could make
a killing man. I mean, but you've got it.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
You have to be able to anticipate what their next
cause is going.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
To be tough. How how do you do that? I mean,
you know, it's like you just never know where they're going,
and it could spend at a moment's notice. Well, I
understand there there, maybe there's a little more planning goes
on to it. Then we then we realize, Kyle, because
you know, they come in with the poster boards and
the T shirts and everything and all that takes time
to brent. So maybe they get a little more uh,

(06:22):
a little more heads up than we do. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Well, yeah, and it's I mean, go back to the
end of Bramadan and how many governors and senators did
we see we're wearing hijabs and supposedly, you know, celebrating that.
It's it's very strange because there's got to be some
memo that goes out and says this is how, this

(06:46):
is what we're going to talk about. This is how
we're going to talk about it, so then they're all
on the same page.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
It really is something, it really is speaking of which
never a dull moment, never a shortage of things for
us to talk about here today. If we shift our
eyes back to Michigan particularly, we've seen some wild things
in the last week, and one of them was Senate
candidate uh coming out and well, I guess the video

(07:17):
audio was leaked of him in in a meeting saying
I'm not you know, I'm not going to get a
statement out on our end because you're a lot of
people on deerboard who are sad that the Ayatola is dead. Today. Boy,
it's been a wild week for that. We saw that.
We'll get your reaction to that here in just a moment.
And then on top of it, proving even more so
that elections have consequences if you don't don't doubt me here, folks,

(07:40):
because if if you don't realize and take a strong
focus on what's happening here, we're going to get another
Slockin' in the in the in the in one of
those seats, slockin is added again talking about oh we
might see is polling places. Why is that a worry?

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Isn't that strange? This is She's not the only Democrat
that is saying this as some sort of warning, I guess,
and I think most people would listen to that, would
they would hear that statement because she's she's, you know,
worried that ice may be at polling locations. And I
think to myself, Well, what would that indicate? It indicates

(08:22):
what citizen would worry about Ice being at polling locations.
If you're a citizen who is registered to vote, and
you have the right to vote, what do you have
to be worried about? And I think what she's sort
of indicating is, I mean, maybe there's illegal aliens that
are voting and there she's concerned that they won't show

(08:44):
up to vote. I'm not really sure what she is
so concerned about.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, it does bring that It's a really great question.
Why why are you worried, madam about this? Unless unless
there's something more than means the eye there, and you know,
you know, it's interesting. It also, I think puts a
spotlight on maybe they should be Maybe they should be
it's polling places, maybe there's some other places they should be.

(09:09):
In fact, you saw how well it worked when Ice
went to the airports. Boy, they cleaned thing up. They
were handing out water bottles, Kyle, they were handing telling people, hey,
we'll stand in line for you if you want to
while you go to the bathroom. As the Democrats shut
down and wouldn't pay TSA and of course it was
a nightmare for people trying to fly and get across
the country. It absolutely was incredible, and so you you wonder,

(09:34):
in the situation like that, maybe maybe there's some other
places we should be. He should be sitting the ICE
while we're at it.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
You know.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
It's it was interesting to see how quickly the TSA
issues were rectified because Ice was there. But then also
there's Democrats coming out and saying that it's illegal to
pay them. When Trump said he wanted to pay TSA agents,
they said it's illegal to do that. So but it's

(10:07):
what Slackin is doing is she's one of these democrats
I think that Trump can do no right, and she's
going to just be She's going to be putting out
endless videos. I saw she's got another video where she
called on wartime generals to save to protect democracy, which
I'm not really sure what that means, but you know,
there's I'm sort of wondering if she's putting these things

(10:30):
out because she knows it's going to get a reaction
and it's going to get her coverage and attention, because
she clearly is up to something. And she was on
Bill maher and she was talking about why she no
longer is taking APEC donations and Bill Maher and Stephen A.
Smith weren't really buying what she was saying. But and

(10:52):
she loves to In case you didn't know, she was
a CIA agent incite that, Yes, but the takeaway from
that was that she was in the CIA, and she
knows how to craft these provocative arguments, she knows how

(11:13):
to message, she knows exactly what she's doing, and she
clearly is up to something.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeah, Kyle Olson at the Midwester of the Midwestern or
dot News, this story, if that was kind of interesting
today shared on Acts by Dotte Detroit Now. He says
Michigan's population grew one point four percent in the last
ten years, the number of state employees grew seventeen percent,
total stage spending grew forty three percent. Do you feel

(11:41):
forty three percent better than you did ten years ago?
By the way, he saying, California isn't the only state
with a Democrat problem, sharing that with the nation, and
you know, those stats are interesting. I just I think
it breaks a good point. Do you feel like you're
getting your money's worth? And of what they're doing in
Lansing Democrats and of course Whitmer who's been in charge

(12:04):
nearly the last decade. It's it's kind of absurd.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Are your roads forty three percent better? I was, I
drove I'd live in the Skiing County and I drove
to Grand Rapids last night, and I mean, there's a
section of potholes that if you don't see it, you
your car is going to be destroyed. And I was
on ninety six again this morning and it was daylight
so I could see them. But the roads are not

(12:31):
forty three percent better. I don't think anybody can say
how their life is better because of all of this spending.
And Whitmer, I mean she again this year proposed an
eighty eight billion dollar budget. She proposed again a record budget,
eighty eight point one billion dollars, And what are we

(12:52):
getting for that money? And accept more growth, more employees.
The House Republicans are saying that there's still more of
these ghost employees that they need to eliminate, while Whitmer
is trying to add more employees. So it is a
it's an endless task to try and rain all of

(13:14):
this in. And that's why if if there's a Republican
governor in the next you know, next year, It is
a tall order to try and get all of this
under control.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Kyle Olson is the founder at the Midwestern or the
Midwesterner dot news And now you're working on stories obviously,
trying to keep up with everything happening across the the
Mitten and and beyond. It's a it's an everyday, full
time job. What are you working on coming up that
folks ought to keep on?

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Well?

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Look out.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yeah, these these statewide races are in a way are
sort of coming to a head because petitions are due
later in April, which I guess it is April, isn't it?
And uh so, petitions are doing about three weeks and
that is going to then determine who makes the ballot.

(14:03):
It's going to be interesting to see obviously there's been
a lot of coverage of what happened in twenty twenty two,
and it's going to be interesting to see who you know,
collects ballid signatures to make it on the ballot. So
we're following that and then these just and then obviously
the the Democrat primary on the Senate. In the Senate

(14:23):
race is wild and it's getting wilder and it's going
to there's a long time between now and the August primaries.
So it's going to be interesting to see how it
all plays out.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Hey, what did you make before I let you go?
You know, what did you make of the convention with
the Republicans last week? And it looks like there's some
unity behind some interesting candidates.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah, it's interesting there. The two candidates that were nominated,
Tony Ferlini and Doug Lloyd, bring a lot of experience
to the table. It looks to me like they're solid
conservatives and but they have you know, they have experience
uh you know, uh doing elections and prosecuting crime. So

(15:14):
I think that they are are you know, solid candidates
that the Democrats are going to have to respond to.
The Democrats have their nominating convention later this month in April,
and and there's some they have some candidates that have
significant baggage and it will we'll see what direction they

(15:35):
decide to go.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Yeah, something we'll keep an eye on for you, as
the folks at the Midwesterner always do. Uh. By the way,
always a pleasure with the latest Kyle Olsen. Please not
only bookmark the sign but sign up, get the email
updates and you can stay up to date. What did
these stories and more. Kyle, always a pleasure, my friend,
have a great, fantastic Easter weekend and we appreciate you

(15:57):
as always. Thank you, you got it. God bless back.
With more folks watching the market this morning, let's see
it reacts to all this wild news. It's been like
a roller coaster lately. Right, we'll keep an eye on
that and more coming up here in just moments. But

(16:19):
the big news, right, it's got to be the latest
in the job numbers, massive massive jump. They call it
a rebound. We'll hear about that after this. Right here
on West Michigan Live. It's good Friday, breaking down the story.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on News Radio
Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine a FM.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Here are your headlines from the Midwestern or this Friday,
April third. I'm Robin Hoffmann. It's a Midwesterner dot new
original story.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Want to flag an issue that I think is going
to become into greater and greater focus here between now
and November, and that is the potential role of the
Department of Homeland Security and ICE, specifically at our polls
in November.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
You're listening to Michigan Senator Democrat Elissa Slock and complaining
on our X page that ICE agents may be at
polling locations come November.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
The administering of elections is left to the states in
the US Constitution. Our founding fathers thought it was important
that no one president could become like a king and
run the elections that would or would not elect him.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
And Pam Bondy out as Attorney General, the President praising
her work as he makes this critical change. Deputy ag
Todd Blanche is now acting Attorney General. For these stories
and more, visit the Midwesterner at The Midwesterner dot.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
News, Big News and more of it. Market's close today,
but again some of the futures reacting already, and it's
it's going to have an impact. The question as how
much is it's big Dad, there's a massive news Monday.
How will they responding? Who knows what else happens between

(19:13):
now and Monday. If you get some good news out
or I ran, that thing might skyrocket up. Along with
this job's report number five.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
Thousand, we are significantly stronger one hundred and seventy eight thousand. However,
there's a pretty big revision in the rear view mirror.
If we look at the minus ninety two thousand, it
becomes minus one hundred and thirty three thousand, So the
two month revision ends up. Actually, if you look at

(19:40):
the previous month, only minus seven thousand, so not as bad.
One hundred and seventy eight thousand. When was the last
time we had a number that strong? We have to
go on the way back machine all the way to
May of twenty three, when we excuse me, June of
twenty three, where are two hundred and twenty five thousand.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
This is a big number. Excuse me, excuse me.

Speaker 7 (20:01):
We have to go back to d Some of twenty four, Joe,
two hundred and thirty seven thousand. So it's still a
very solid number going in the way back machine. Now
let's get into the internals here.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
So I just because remember, the economy's supposed to be
shut down, The economy's supposed to be, you know, and
off the rails, and it just doesn't seem to be
the case here. Now you can argue about the numbers
and whether you believe it or anything else, and that's fine.
I'll leave you at it. You can do all of that,
argue about the moon and whether you're a S flat

(20:33):
or not, I don't care all. I'm telling you those
are big numbers. Market's probably gonna move, and depending upon
what happens in and over the weekend, you may see
an even bigger jump. But I just it's just one
of those things up and down. You never know where
it's gonna go. And I've been telling you about the

(20:54):
folks carding your nest egg dot com talent wealth. Whether
you want to reach today, tomorrow, ten twenty years down
the road, they can help you do it and feel
confident about it. It is hell. It's never fun, especially
when you're close to right in the middle of it,
watching the market do the roller coaster thing. But if
you have taken that holistic approach like Mike Lester and

(21:16):
the team at Talon do, then you can feel a
lot better about it as you're in that process right
find out more about how they can help you six
one six sixty six one one thousand go online to
guarding your nest egg dot com. Gotta hear from you
today too, coming up on the program. If you want
to weigh in, you can do it at any time.
Hit the phone with the talkback feature. I have something

(21:37):
to say.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Say it yours o people.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
I think he's America.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
It's free for all Friday.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Talk to Justin now six one six seven seven four
twenty four twenty four. That's six one six seven seven
four twenty four to twenty four West Michigan Live with
Justin Barklay on Wood Radio.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Yeah. Oh, CNN just can't handle it. They can't believe it.
They're beside themselves this morning. I mean, it is it's
a big number. So that's you know, that's understandable. It's
a it's a massive number. Uh. And they didn't expect it.

(22:19):
Now that because they didn't expect it doesn't mean it
shouldn't have been expected. But if you've been paying attention,
maybe this makes sense to you. But here it is
CNN losing their minds about the big job numbers that
just came out. And again, what does that do with
the market. You're watching a ran this weekend. Who knows
what happens on Monday.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
I mean the expectation was, what sixty thousand jobs and
it's one seventy eight?

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (22:45):
Yeah, Look, the job market bounced back in a big
way in March, and that is good news, really blowing
away expectations.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I mean, the unemployment four point four percent, big, big,
big month. Part of the reason for this is, and
we tried to tell you last month when when the
numbers were great. Part of the reason is the jobs
numbers last month were due to healthcare strikes. So there

(23:13):
were healthcare strikes that made that number look much bigger
than what it actually was. And then everybody chicken, little
black pill, sky falling, Pannicans and folks in the left
and in the media ran around telling everybody how to
see end. If this is the end, Trump's crashing and burning.
And now we got the rent and the guests and everything.
And I understand you're paying more to Pump right now

(23:34):
than you were recently when he brought the prices down.
I get that. And it's not fun, right, but it
is Trump. He's got a plan. The prices will come
down if things go according to his plan. That I
don't know what's going to happen. All I know is
that no matter what the headlines say, the good news
is God is still on the throne. And by the way,
that brings our focus back to where we should be.

(23:57):
On a good Friday, our good friend Pastor Joe Beavloqua
at Newchapel in UH in the Compstock Park area. I
appreciate you taking the time to be here with us
a pastor. There's so much happening in the world today.
I am floored by it. I have been watching ever
since Charlie Kirk we saw unfortunate assassination. We've seen a

(24:19):
really kind of a revival happening with the youth UH
in America. We've seen people coming back to church, and
these youth numbers are probably the biggest. When I say church,
it's the church churches all across. Bible sales are up,
more people are listening to you know, faith, UH, podcast radio,

(24:39):
all of that type of thing, and I'm sure it
has something to do with the way things are shaken
in the world, the way things are, but it is
an encouraging sign, especially on a big weekend like this weekend,
and I thought it'd be a good time to get
your take on it. Welcome in, my friend.

Speaker 8 (24:54):
Well, so good to be with you, Justin, And yeah,
I mean you're you're totally right. I think a lot
of people in America, especially young people, especially those that
are in gen X, they have soul fatigue and they
have access and technology and entertainment convenient, and yet they're anxious, isolated,

(25:15):
their numb And we've upgraded so many things, but we
haven't done that to the human soul. And people still
need interaction and there's a hunger there to have a
relationship with God. And so we're seeing many of them
be drawn into churchy yes, since Charlie Kirk and what
a man of God. And what we're seeing is a
lot of people see that what they've been told it's

(25:37):
just not real, it's plastic, and they want the real thing.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Yeah, I think you're right, especially when you say that,
like you want the real thing. It makes me think
about everything right now in the world that we're in.
You can question anything and everything because you don't know
what's real and what is and AI is out there
right now that I think has the ability to deceive
us in ways that we've we've never even imagined. You

(26:05):
don't know what you're watching, and we talked about earlier
this week. But you got an astronaut and a mission
to the moon. And there are people and I think
rightfully so they go a lot them are we really going?
Did we ever really go? It's because people been lied
to about so many things before. You can't blame him.
As you mentioned, it's like a fatigue. We're in this
constant spiritual warfare. I know that may sound wacky to

(26:29):
a lot of people, but at the end of the day,
these these these these deceptions, the delusion that we're seeing.
I think it's it's gonna get worse, not better in
the coming days. And you know what, that's why we
need to find that foundation. And maybe that's why the
young people and so many people are rushing to find it.

Speaker 8 (26:48):
For sure. You know when all the shutdowns happened and
the governor tried to shut down all the churches, maybe
before then people would have questioned about spiritual warfare. But
I think even people that don't have a faith background
are now looking at things and trying to say, is
there any fidelity to this? Is anything real? And it's

(27:09):
showing that there's something else at play. And really it's
been the only thing that has it's the scratch, if
you will, throughout the last two thousand years, and that
is the reality that there is a God that sits
on high and especially on Good Friday, we remember that.
I mean, our church is doing services tonight at seven
like so many others, and we're remembering the Cross, we're

(27:33):
remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made and ultimately leading on
to Sunday, because Friday is one thing, but Sunday is coming, Amen,
And it's a Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of our God.
And here's the cool thing Christ in you, the hope
of glory. People can experience a real relationship with Jesus,

(27:54):
and so yeah, there's a lot of fake in this world.
I don't know whether we've ever been to the moon.
I've never been there myself, but I can tell you
that my life was changed. I was one person before Jesus,
and I'm changed. I'm different. And this is the beginning
of hope and joy and having any resolve in this world.
It's found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that matters.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Yeah, I think you're absolutely right when it comes to
very similarly, you know what you and I think both
went through during the craziness of that year, during twenty
twenty and subsequently some of the years following, and what
we're seeing play out now as we've seen so much
of a shaking to our core that we're rushing looking

(28:38):
for what's real and there's only one real place to
find that truth and that is something. So what is left?
What does the church and I'm not talking about Newchapel,
but what does the churches and churches the body of Christ?
What do Christians need to do right now? I mean

(28:59):
we're watching as we're seeing all this play out here.
These are first world problems that we you know, we're
dealing with ai. I mean in Nigeria, Christians are getting
slaughtered as we speak, and just this last week we
had this another horrible story, and it's happening in the
Middle East as well. But also we are encouraging stories
out of Iran where we hear that there's a massive

(29:20):
church movement there, there are Christians rising up and are
on What do we need to do as we deal
with these things together as a family.

Speaker 8 (29:31):
Yeah, well, justin what you're seeing is the dark becoming
a lot darker and you're seeing the light shine a
light brighter. And you're going to see a lot more
of that as we get into these end of days.
And so yes, I mean there is incredible persecution in Africa.
I was there last month and I was in a
country where Christianity is flourishing right next to a country

(29:53):
where there's an intense persecution. And so what do we
need to do. We need to pray, for sure, the
Body of Christ needs to But I'll also just say
this because there are a lot of conservative people who
are now seeing their grandchildren, their children begin to go
to church find a relationship with God. And I know
this is like this in many churches in the Metro,
but in Newchapel in Grand Rapids, we've had several young

(30:17):
people come to church and eventually, maybe even a month later,
their parents and then their grandparents come. I can think
of three families right now that just come to mind.
And so it's not enough for us just to agree
with Jesus. I think a lot of us I believe
in Jesus. He's the way I agree things need to change.
I think that our tribe and our generation and the

(30:40):
generations even before us, we need to get back to church.
And if you've been out of church for a long time,
I want to invite you to a New Chapel or
whatever church you used to belong to. It's not about us,
it's about the Kingdom. But get back to church. Go
to church on Easter Sunday worship the Risen Jesus on
Sunday morning. Here's the big idea. Don't just make it

(31:01):
a weekend, make it a change because the next generation
is looking for that heritage of faith I think Western
Michigan is known for, and we need to not just
agree that things need to change. We need to be
a part of that change. And the simple way we
can do it is what Charlie Kirk says, and now
you have said every Sunday it's a great day to
go to church. Be a part of the change that's happening,

(31:24):
the life that's shining brighter. Be a part of everything
God is doing in America today.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, ay Man, definitely get back and to it. And
what a great weekend to do that. If you haven't,
or maybe you're looking for a place to go. New
Chapel on Newchapel dot com. Great great place and you'll
be able to meet Pastor Joe Bevlocka and the family there.
Pastor Joe always appreciated. Again, I think I heard you

(31:49):
say that you also have services tonight for folks that
would like to come in and enjoy.

Speaker 8 (31:55):
Yeah, come in seven o'clock. I'm going to be preaching
about Jesus on the Cross, and hell, I think it's
gonna be a great topic. And then on to Sunday
we're gonna maybe give him a little bit of heaven.
We're gonna talk about a risen Jesus and the power
that he can have in your life, the promise that
he brings to all of us who believe it's it's
gonna be a good weekend at Newchapel.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Amen. All right, well, thank you. I appreciate that. And yes,
Charlene says, don't just come on Christmas and Easter in
the chat absolutely, but take a step back. If you haven't,
this is a good time to do it. I guarantee
you'll be welcome with open arms and no judgment.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
That's so true. And uh and I'm looking forward for
all the churches and Grand Rapids to swell this weekend.
And I'll bless you justin thanks for all that you.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Do for us.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
You too, Thank you. Pastor Joe Bevelock with New Chapel
dot com. If you'd like to, uh, ifd like to
attend New Chapels there on a four mile right off
the Alpine right where that uh that the show place
used to be remember the where they used to do
the gun on NI show. So they're there in that
higher complex now. And great weekend to get out and

(33:04):
enjoy it. All right, quick break, got some more good
news and the good news coming out after this and
the fastest hour in radio full lion by back right
after this on West Michigan Live, Don't Go Anywhere, breaking
down the story.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on News Radio
Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine AF area.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Your headlines from the Midwestern or this Friday, April.

Speaker 8 (33:33):
Third, I'm Robin Hoffman.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
It's a Midwesterner dot News original story.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
The administering of elections is left to the states in
the US Constitution.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
Here she goes again. Michigan Senator Slokin busy posting a
video complaining about the possibility ICE agents will be posted
at polling places as folks here in our state go
to Vogue come November. The Democrat posting this on our
X page.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
And we have not had to have uniform military or
federal law enforcement like ICE at our polls in some
of our most sensitive time periods.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
And a loss for Governor Whitmer is the Supreme Court
rejects an appeal by her administration in its long effort
to shut down Enbridge Energy's Line five oil and gas pipeline.
The case is one of several in Michigan, n Wisconsin
involving the seventy year old pipeline that Whitmer and Michigan
Attorney General Dana Nessel have worked to shut down since
twenty nineteen. For these stories and more, visit The Midwesterner

(34:27):
at the Midwesterner dot news.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Yeah, we're probably going to be running around the yard
doing an Easter egg on at some point at the
weather cooperating this weekend. As as the kids have been,
we've been doing it inside and we actually get these
really cool things, these resurrection acts, which I thought are
kind of interesting, but their grandma bought them these really
cool eggs that have pieces of the story of Easter,

(34:53):
which is really neat inside of them, Like there's a chalnice,
there's a cup, there's praying hands, there's a little coins
for the thirty pieces of silver, there's a whip cat
of nine tails in there, there's a crown of thorns.
It really is and then one of the eggs is empty.
It is fascinating. That was cool and the girls got

(35:16):
it absolutely immediately. So has this one empty girls because
Jesus wasn't in the tomb. Oh that's cool. So whether
we're doing it inside or outside, probably will have to
do one of those outside this weekend just to keep
in with the trade. It's gonna be nice on Sunday,
so maybe that's a day to do it where things
kind of clear up and not as warm, but definitely clear.

(35:38):
Whether you're on your feet doing Easter egg guns or
you're on the toes like me trying to keep up
with my girls or the news. The Good Feed Store
can help you a couple of different locations right there
on twenty eighth Street, right in front of Costco or
in Portage on Westage in front of Coals with those
personalized art support systems, so you can get back to
everything that you want to do in comfort and with

(36:00):
confidence at the Good Feed Store. Well, it's become a
bit of a Good Friday tradition, and I thought we
gotta do it again this year. It is a fantastic
rendition and the recitation of the classic It's Friday, but

(36:23):
Sunday is coming.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
It's Friday, Jesus is praying. Peter's are sleeping. Judas is betrayed.
But Sunday's coming. It's Friday. Pilot's struggling. The council is conspiring,
the crowd is vilified. They don't even know that Sunday's coming.

(36:55):
It's Friday. The disciple of the running Light sheep without
a show. Mary's crime. Peter is denying, but they don't
know that Sundays are coming. It's Friday. The Romans beat
my Jesus, they rob him in scar they crown him

(37:20):
with thorn, but they don't know that Sunday's coming. It's Friday.
See Jesus walking to Calvin, his blood dripping, his bodies stumbling,
and his spirits burden. But you see, it's only Friday.

(37:42):
Sunday's coming. It's Friday. The world's winning people are sinning
and evils gritted.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
It's Friday.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
The soldiers nailed my saviors hands to the cross. They
nailed my Savior's feet to the cross, and then they
raised him up next to criminals. It's fried But let
me tell you something. Sunday's come. It's Fride. The disciples

(38:23):
are questioning what has happened to their king, and the
Pharisees are celebrated that their scheming has been achieved, but
they don't know it's only pride. Sunday's come. It's Pride.

(38:44):
He's hanging on the cross, feeling forsaken by his father,
left alone and die. Can nobody save him? Oh, it's
fried but Sunday's coming. It's Friday. The earth trimmles, the

(39:09):
sky grows dark. My king yields his spirit. It's Friday.
Hope is lost, death has won, Sin has conquered, and
Satan's just a laughing.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
It's Friday.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Jesus is buried, a soldier stands God and a rock
is rolled into place.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
But it's Friday.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
It is only Friday. Sunday is a coming.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
That's right. It is Friday, but Sunday is coming. And
what a reminder it is. No matter what you're facing,
no matter what the focus is each and every day,
no matter what you're going through, Sunday Sunday is coming.

(40:22):
I mean that covers what we face as a nation.
That classic the timeless, and Pastor Lockridge needs to betrayal
its denial. It's suffering. Whatever you're in the darkness, the grave.
Our world right now feels like a Long Friday. That's

(40:42):
a moral chaos, attacks on the faith, families under siege,
culture that celebrates the opposite of what God loves. But listen,
this story doesn't end here, nailed to the cross laid
in that tomb, but death couldn't hold him, and it

(41:03):
won't hold his people either. Whatever you're facing today, whatever
the battle our nation is in, take heart, because the
same God will roll that stone away is still on
the throne. Today it's Friday, but Sunday's coming. God bless
