Speaker 1 (00:00):
First, let's get to Trent, our good friend from Affordable
Lize Store Lake Michigan Drive and stand down of course
Grand River Tech for the latest update and big most
and Trump on the AI data centers. You're gonna want
to hear the latest in tech and how it affects
you and your world. This is Tech Talk Tuesday on
Wood Radios, West Michigan Live. Welcome man, Trent.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Can it be?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
And yeah, you know, this is probably the biggest story
because I think it's the biggest story of the year,
the AI data centers in the fight what is coming.
On one hand, from the country's perspective, From Trump's perspective,
the president of LA is the national security reasons, we've
got to be ahead of the fight. We can't let
China win this this AI fight. And on the other hand,

(00:45):
citizens are concerned about AI and data centers in their backyard.
I totally get that, and there's a number of different reasons.
One of them is they're concerned about what's going to
happen to their electric bills, maybe in environmental issues. There
are all kinds of different things at play here, but
the President seems to have at least taken care of

(01:07):
the energy portion here. Listen to what he posts on
Trump truth, social under sleep, Jo Biden, the radical left Democrats,
the average American households monthly utility bills went up massively,
over thirty percent. I never want Americans to pay higher
electricity bills because of data centers. Therefore, my administration is
working with major American technology companies to secure their commitment

(01:28):
to the American people, and we will have much to
announce in the coming weeks. First up, as Microsoft, who
my team has been working with. Essentially, what he wants
to do is he wants to force these data center companies,
these AI companies, to produce their own energy, their own electricity,

(01:50):
and have their own power plants on site. Essentially, then
they would be also able to contribute to the grid,
which I've heard them talk about as well. Whether that
happens or not, I'm exactly sure. Interesting point. Trent, welcome in.
We appreciate this is a big story.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Ya, good morning, justin. Yes, it is definitely a big
story because everybody's been talking about this. Everybody knows this
is going to increase electricity rates, natural gas rates because
the quickest way for these AI plants to spool up
is to use the existing grid in.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Their systems when they can afford to, and they can
create their own power through nuclear through their own energy,
though it is difficult and the raise is the cost.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
But I want to say justin I'm not the biggest
fan of AI and all this stuff, but it is
helping us in some ways because the Trump administration is
obviously looking at online, real live public opinion that is
swirling everywhere in conversation and posts and everything, and they're

(02:53):
seeing this data come in real time through AI systems
and saying, hey, if we don't address this increase power.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Rates and things, people are going to be very upset.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
It's going to hurt the economy. So in one way,
AI is already working to combat the negativities of itself,
which I find pretty impressive.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Tran can it be affordableized yourlig Michigan drive and grander VerTech.
We just see that Facebook goes nuclear to power AI.
We've seen stories about this and some of the other
things that they've been using as well. But essentially what
he's saying is you'll have to have your own power
source on site and be able to power whatever it is,
whatever project you're working on. And we see a lot

(03:33):
moving in the AI world right now. This is only
going to heat up in the next year or so.
By the way, former Trump advisor named as a new
president of Facebook. Like I said, we're a little bit
short on time for our tech segment today because we
got to get to our next guest. But Dina Poal
McCormick joining meta the Facebook family as president and vice chairman.

(03:56):
That all sort of ties into what we're talking about.
Speaking of AI, I saw this story Apple, Apple's got
to deal with Google, and I've seen a lot about
AI lately and whether or not Chat Gypt's parent company,
Open Ai or Microsoft or whoever it might be, we'll
be controlling the AI world. But let's talk about Google lately.

(04:17):
And that just makes me wonder because Apple says that
Google apparently and their AI is going to help power Siri.
Now that may ask a lot of folks too, especially
that are looking at Google thinking about how that company works,
whether or not you want to use Siri or not
on your phone anymore. Do you have any concerns about this?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, justin obviously AI. You know the issue is a security, privacy,
you know, rights protections with this all I have no
way to vet that justin because this is so new
and cutting edge, but something along those lines.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I just saw an article that Pete Hegseth is going.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
To allow Grock as well as open AI to have
access to classified and unclassified information on a government level,
you know, information level. So if the government is trusting
this or supposedly trusting this, or if there is a
trust issue in the bigger picture, I think the government

(05:21):
should be concerned about that versus us as mere people's
conversations about you know whatever. But yes, I hope it
can be trusted. I don't see them giving us good
assurances understanding how we can trust it. I hope they
can release information to us as a public. I'm very
skeptical personally.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Trent, can that be a fertalized store lingmis can drive
and stand down on tech talk. Apparently monkeys are all
in the loose in Saint Louis. I don't know if
you saw the story, but it makes it really hard
for folks to find these monkeys. Apparently police and whatnot
as they're searching. Because AI is now adding to the
confusion people people are faking maybe AI, whether this is

(05:59):
a real sighting, are not of these monkeys to find
these monkeys they're blaming AI for now. I don't know
how legitimate this is, but it is kind of funny
because I told you we talked about this number of times.
You get to a time where you're not gonna be
able to believe anything you see because of AI? Is
that the case here?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Justin and I, like I mentioned before about the Trump
administration using common public opinion, there are systems that law
enforcement use or public services used to say, hey, what's
being posted out there? And obviously they're if they're scanning
for images of these these monkeys on the loose and
they're getting fake images, that's throwing them way off. So

(06:36):
AI has its own accountability there where it can fool
itself very easily.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Monkeys on the loose. AI involves what could go wrong? Trent,
always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you for taking the
time to be here with us drinking it. Be affordableized
store Lake Michigan Drive and stand down for your personal
needs or granted ver tech where they can help you
with all of those needs that you may have. From
a business perspective, if they do such a great job
and if you reach out, I'm sure they'd be more

(07:03):
than willing to help you with anything that you're dealing with.
Thank you, my friend,
