Speaker 1 (00:00):
Live from Higher Top Monroe Center in downtown Grand Rapids.
We're talking about what matters most to you when West
Michigan joined the conversation Now at six one six seven
seven four, twenty four twenty four. At six one six
seven seven four twenty four twenty four, it's West Michigan
Live with Justin Barklay on Wood Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
That's warm for January. It's not gonna stay that way
and certainly not as warm as it was earlier. According
to UH some of the reports earlier this morning. And man,
oh man, we we got some snow, lots of it
on the way today. That tomorrow, well tomorrow, that Sunday.
(00:43):
That's what I'm That's what I'm here, man oh man.
Let's get you wrapped up all of the latest stories
you won't hear anywhere else. We'll get into those and
more coming out this morning. Kyle Olsen joins us and
more from.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
The Midwestern News and Traffic his stories of the day.
We were talking about what matters most in West Michigan
and beyond. This is the Big three now see speak three.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, the story is a matter mons. We're talking about
these round waterco They didn't table no matter where you
are powering our good friends at Heartland Home Mortgage, Dave
Cataway and the team making it happen. And of course
they've saved us thousands each and every time we've used
them want to buy refly home equity line of credit.
Now's the time saving money. Things really start to shift,
and we even have big news. I think Trump the
(01:36):
other day mentioned bringing down those rates. He's made another
big move here just most recently trying to push to
bring lower rates. And a big announcement I gave who's
two hundred billion is what he wants to do, buy
a mortgage bonds to drive down those rates. Be interesting
(01:57):
to see how that plays out. But again, if he
can point you in the right direction, HHM lending dot
com number one, make sure that you get ahead of it. Now,
how big is that fraud right now? In the not
just Minnesota, but in America all the other way. We
now have a new department to find it. President Trump
(02:18):
established yesterday the new Department of Justice Division for National
Fraud Enforcement. And it's a doozy because we know it's
not just Minnesota. We know, folks, this stuff is everywhere,
even in red stacks. But the difference is how big
it is, how much more massive it is in the
(02:42):
Blue States because they tended to rely on this racket.
Even more so it is. It's deeper than just money flowing.
It's tied into elections and more on the very thing
that keeps Democrats in power. This is just the beginning,
as I told you earlier, Minnesota, just a tip of
the iceberg. The FEDS have shot two more allege trind
(03:06):
DERAGUA members, this time in Portland where it happened again folks,
a car being used as a weapon to ram an
ICE agent. And the story is, well, it's another real
sad situation because you get these guys out there putting
their lives on the line and they're being taught. Make
(03:28):
no mistake about this, it's not a coincidence that these
people are using their cars as weapons. We know now
that the woman in Dinneapolis had been trained and the
radicalization that's happening, and I think we call it what
it is, domestic terrorism. For these groups that are targeting
(03:49):
these individuals in law enforcement, all they're doing is out
there trying to enforce the law, and of course they're
getting that with resistance by these terrorist organizations. Got to
get down to the root of it. We'll have the latest.
By the way, these two left the scene after they
used the car as a weapon, drove down the road
called nine to one one. And well now they're in.
(04:11):
They're in custody soon. I probably those are the best
and brightest move for them, canceled. President Trump previously canceled
that he previously expected, as he said, attack the latest
second round targeting there in Venezuela, the second wave, he
called it. And here's why Caracas is now, he says, cooperating,
(04:35):
including releasing political prisoners, working with the US on rebuilding
oil and gas infrastructure. There's a massive deal underway. He's
also said that US naval ships will stand in placed
there for safety and security, and he claimed big oil
could invest one hundred billion. As he meets with executives
at the White House stats ahead of today and that
meeting on the way. So we'll keep an eye on
(04:58):
it all for you folks. Don't go anywhere. We're just
getting just getting started as a restaurant here locally. That
is not not welcoming ice anymore. And boy, they got
it online yesterday for that big announcement. I won't say
their name because I don't want to give them any
(05:19):
more attention. You've been seeing it floating around online. It's
stupid things like this that tend to lead to businesses
and eventually being shuttered because you fool around and you
find out.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Call Justin now at six one six seven seven four
four twenty four at six one, six seven seven four
twenty four twenty four, West Michigan Live with Justin Barclay
on News Radio would thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine af as.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Look, I'm not saying it would ever happen. I'm not
saying that the federal government would ever go on the
target businesses that they found were, you know, cheering on
terrorists operations and organizations, certainly when they would never do
that to.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
The right.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Lowist learner in the IRS BAC during the Barack Obama days.
But you know, just telling you stuff like this, do
you think you're doing something? You think you're being cute?
Jimmy Kimmel on ABC another great example last night or
the night before, introducing some T shirts saying and Donald
Trump wants to kill people and things like that. At
this point, I'm calling on the Trump administration to revoke
(06:25):
and remove the license from ABC because it's no longer
serving the public good, and any of those local affiliates
may want to reach out and make their voices heard
to the big networks. It's time to get Kimmel off
the air. I'm not for silencing free speech, but i
am when we see reckless things done in a situation.
You can't go into a crowded theater and yell fire
(06:46):
if there is no fire, particularly, and in this case,
you shouldn't be able to add fuel on top of
the fire that's already raging in this country. By the way,
we've got a woman dead because of this, because of
the insane radicalization that's happening at every level, including on
the media, the mainstream media, big fuel adding fuel to
all of this. And we now know that this woman
(07:08):
was indoctrinated because of the school, the charter school that
her child went to. They were calling on people to
become part of this sort like ICE resistance brigade that
they had going on. Instead of a PTA meeting and
a bank cell, they were out fooling around and finding
out with ICE agents. This is absolutely insane and that's
(07:30):
exactly what it is. It's mental health. Well, the opposite
illness gone awry and we're seeing all of it come
into play right now. Just my two cents, But why
don't we hear from Kyle Olsen at the Midwestern or
the Midwestern or News. Good morning, Kyle, appreciate you taking
the time to be here with us today. How are you.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Then, I'm doing great?
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Good morning.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
And your point about the people being arrested, there's a
site called deported dot news and they published this morning
some of the background and some of the individuals that
were arrested in Minneapolis, and it's a registered sex offender,
is DUI, drug possession, murders, assault, cocaine distribution, drug trafficking,
(08:20):
domestic violence, shoplifting, attemptant sexual assault. These are the people
that the individuals in Minneapolis are attempting to keep in
the country.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Yeah, they're the ones that are defending. They're the ones
they're fighting for. Imagine being a mother. I mean this
is insane to me, but imagine being a mother and
taking time away from your children to go run out
on the street and do this type of thing. It
just when you really put it into that sort of
perspective and you understand what the media and what the
(08:54):
left and really it's just kind of neo Marxist communist
way of thinking in these organizations have done on it
really makes a big difference. In fact, they posted something
I'll put it in the stack today, but there's a
story about where this is. None of this is a coincidence,
where the funding essentially is coming from to do all
of this, and they are calling on and I would
(09:15):
agree this particular piece calling on the IRS to get
involved and cracked down. Previously, they have not done that.
Obviously under the Biden administration they never would, right, But
under the Trump administration, this is a way you cut
the head off of the snake. You gotta do it,
(09:35):
and I'd love to see that happen because these people,
you know, they're billionaires, silent dark money from George Soris
and the rest of them that are funding the destruction
of the country. Unfortunately.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Yeah, the singular group is Indivisible. That's ultimately where it leads.
And I saw yesterday that the Department of Justice is
naming an new Assistant Attorney General for these to to
investigate these sorts of left wing groups, and apparently it's
going to include Indivisible and Act Blue, which is the
(10:12):
payment processor that allegedly, you know, funnels money to campaigns,
and so then you know these campaigns can have millions
and millions of dollars to try and win elections. But
this is this is serious stuff. And you know the
Peggy Flanagan, who is the lieutenant governor in Minnesota and
(10:32):
she's now running for US Senate, she said, put your
body on the line. And so there is there is
just this over the top rhetoric where people are pay
for whatever reason, are defending and want to keep horrible,
horrible dirt bags in the country, and they're willing to
put their bodies on the line in order to do that.
(10:54):
And so we're seeing that in Minneapolis. We're going to
see that probably wherever else ICE and Homeland Security goes.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
It's happening in Portland. As we mentioned the other day.
If this is none of this is anything, I've got more.
They've got a no go zone kind of like they
had chopped for a while. Now they got a no
go zone in Minneapolis set up. I got some more
details on that. I want to focus on the state
here in Michigan because we've got a couple other big
stories that are coming down. Jocelyn Benson the Democrat who
(11:25):
is running for governor Secretary of State. She wants to
oversee her own election proposing healthcare plan that requires mandatory bias.
You canna hear a lot about her health care plan.
That's that's again another example of opportunity for fraud and
issues all over the place. But she also packed neatly
(11:45):
down inside of it, has this really interesting idea that
she wants to She wants to require mandatory bias training
for everyone.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yes, and this is sort of an extension of what
Gretchen Whitmer did after the pandemic was a disparity of deaths,
and she said, well, naturally there's a disparity because people
are racist, and in particular people that work in healthcare
are racist, and therefore we need to have this mandatory
(12:14):
bias training. There was there has been a lot of
objections from a lot of people who provide health care
to Americans that we're not that's not what's going on
the House that the Michigan House passed or repeal of
those requirements, But apparently Jocelyn Benson wants to expand that.
(12:35):
She's also talk talking about home health care credits, which
of course there's a lot of concern in Minneapolis that
home health care funding was being abused, so she apparently
wants to expand that. But this is this is the
direction that she wants to take health care in Michigan.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, it's no surprise. As radical as she as and
who she's funded by, this is the type of thing
you're going to see even more of in some of
the crazy ideas that she has. And she's more than
willing to push Michigan further down that road into Minnesota territory. Uh,
speaking of some of the craziness and the radical radical
(13:18):
is she running for Senate? What did mcmaarrow say about
ice and what is she up to lately?
Speaker 3 (13:26):
So after this woman in Minnesota appeared to try to
ram an ICE agent and she lost her life, Mallory
mcmaroe came out and called these ice operations political theater,
of course, And so that's how that's how she's viewing
apparently getting criminal, illegal aliens out of America. It's it's
(13:49):
nothing more than political theater. And what's interesting is the
Midwesterner has published numerous stories about the the people trendy
Aragua members MS thirteen members, etc. Who have been captured
and arrested and are in the process of deportation from Detroit,
(14:13):
from SIUs Saint Marie, all over Michigan. Yeah, and so
the Democrats will just ignore that and just dismissed that
as political theater.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Well, you know, this is a real problem for them.
Let's be honest. This is getting in the way of
their grift. This is how they hold power. This is
how and we know because we've watched a lot of
this behind the scenes take place. It's tied in all
the fraud we're going to see tight end to elections.
You don't think any of that money that they skim
(14:45):
from the American people, the taxpayers, you don't think that
money doesn't make an end to back into Democratic coffers,
does it? Of course it does. That's what the whole
scam is about. That's why they are absolutely in sheer
panic right now that it's being unveiled. And uh and
folks who are getting a chance to see it for
what it is. Kyle, One one more thing. I see
(15:06):
a note here, and I'm not sure what this is about. Oh,
I did see this the Whitehall pothole. Is this the
bridge that you can see right on through?
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Yes? Is that not hey, by the way, So these.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Are the people who can't even can't even do this
right that they want to take care of your healthcare.
Can you imagine this pothole ought to be a great
illustration for that, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
So?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Yeah, So there's a bridge on White Lake Drive that
goes over US thirty one in Muskegon County and this
pothole opened up, and it is so big you can
see the rebar and you can look right through it
and see the highway and so and so this this
became news or a couple of days ago, and it's
(15:57):
this massive hole and well it's yes, it looks bad,
but because three bars there, it's not as bad.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
As it looks.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Okay, well it seems a little terrifying. But I think
what it's so galling about all of this is that
Gretchen Whitmer, she ran on fixing the roads eight years ago,
and this had this is a good example of how
she hasn't done that. And what's worse is you go
back to twenty twenty three and the Democrats had nine
(16:26):
billion dollars that they wanted to spend, and they spent
it on pools and all sorts of personal projects and
not fixing the roads splash, the sorts of things could
have been fixed and they chose not to.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, and there's coffee makers for their for their big
donor friends. Gosh, you gotta love it keeping up with
all of this and more. And by the way, holden
folks accountable. We need it now more than ever. Our
good friend Kyle Olson, the folks at the Midwestern or
the Midwesterner News always a pleasure, my friend. Thank you
for staying on top of it. We know you got
a full time job just doing this and making sure
(16:58):
that folks know the truth about what's happening here in
Michigan and be on you got it. God bless the
Midwestern and Midwesterner dot news. Don't just bookmarket, definitely do that,
but you want to make sure you put your name
in so you've got all of the information coming to you,
get updates all the time. All right back with more.
It's a free for all Friday too. We'll give you
(17:20):
a chance at joining the phone lines on the way
on West Miskin Live, It's what Radio.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Informative Engigee. It's West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay on
News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six nine
a FM.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
Here are your headlines from The Midwesterner this Friday, January ninth.
I'm Robin Hoffman. It's a Midwesterner dot news original story.
Jocelyn Benson's proposed healthcare plan requires mandatory bias training. The
Democrat gubernatorial candidate released a twenty twenty six affordability plan
that would require mandatory bias training for healthcare providers, provide
(19:11):
five thousand dollars caregiver tax credits, and at other measures
for families and seniors. State Senator Mallory mcmarrow blasting efforts
to remove criminal illegal aliens as security theater following the
shooting in Minneapolis. She of course, is ignoring the fact
that numerous Michigan residents needlessly lost their lives to criminals
(19:32):
living in our country illegally. For these stories and more,
visit The Midwesterner at Themidwesterner dot news.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
I've got as writers. He's a Senate Minority leader and
Eric desmid running for governor. He's called on the state
to do some auditing here. So we've seen some of
the issues in Minnesota. Says it's time to make sure
that we we don't have those same problems here. Well,
we know we do, right, it's just a matter of time.
But let's dig into a to get ahead of it
(20:00):
before the federal government comes knock, and let's clean house.
As he's mentioned, we'll talk to him about that and more,
all coming up after our bomb the hour. Right here
on West Michigan Line, we are witnessing history. American Hockey
League records aren't falling. The goods just shared with folks
off the air. What's happening in Iran right now? Lots
(20:21):
of blackout when it comes to internet, phone calls, things
like that. But protests in their thirteenth day, I think
now picking up steam. And there's a lot of a
lot of chaos happening throughout the world right now, and
some of that as we just talked about Venezuela, Cuba
(20:43):
could fall, President Trump mentioned we'll talk maybe a little
bit more about that in moments, But these are things
happening in the world stage a little bit closer to home,
as we see the fraud that's been uncovered in particularly
Minneapolis and Minnesota and what's been going on there. The question,
shu it is where else is this happening? And I
think it's fair to probably the DOCE that if it
(21:05):
can happen there, it is happening there, it's probably happening
here too, particularly in states that are blue are run
by Democrats at least anyway, I wouldn't call Michigan necessarily
a completely blue stay, and I think we've seen it.
Obviously went for Trump in twenty twenty four, and we
have that ability to go that way, and this next
(21:26):
guest is betting on that and making a run for
governor as well. The Senate Minority later join us right now,
Republican Eric Desbitt, appreciate you taking the time to be
here with us today.
Speaker 6 (21:37):
Hey, justin thanks for having me on, and you're exactly right.
Governor Whitmer has a disastrous track record when it comes
to protecting Michigan tax dollars against fraud wasting views. Just
look at the billions loss on fraud going on employment
payments during the pandemic, eight and a half billion dollars
of your tax payer money gone. We must make sure
that what happened or the watch of her friend, her
(21:59):
buddy over in Minnesota, Tim Waltz, isn't happening in Michigan.
And we can't wait until the money's gone before we
start asking these questions.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
So you've asked, and in fact you're calling for this
ought it to take place, particularly the childcare program. But
let's let's detail some of this because I mean, I've
heard people when they discuss this, they say, yeah, this
is happening in red states too. It's happening all over,
but particularly where Democrats are in control, because this is
part of really the apparatus as scam of how they
(22:30):
they operate on a larger level. But this, you make
a good point. Don't wait for the Feds to come
in and point it out and then the money just
sort of disappears. We have a chance right now to
get proactive and get at ahead of it.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
It sounds like, yeah, I mean, finding affordable childcare is
one of the greatest challenges facing young Michigan families right now.
We know this, and every textile or loss to criminal
fraudsters really makes it more difficult for law abiding families
to get the childcare that they need. Michigan's childcare programs
are meant to assist these low income families to the
(23:05):
cost of childcare. The state's spending over a half a
billion dollars a year on this The program operates with
support of some federal grants and state assistants. But what
I'm asking is that the non partisan office the Auditor General,
which was instrumental in detailing.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
The immense size and scope of.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
The eight and a half billion dollars lost the unemployment
candle a fraudu mis manager under Governor Whitmer's reign of
the Unemployment Insurance Agency. I'm asking the Auditor General to
investigate Michigan child development and care program operated within Governor
Whimer is what they call the mi LEAD program, the
Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential Department.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
I mean, just their call service.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Last fall was called ineffective under the Auditor General when
they just did a slight a small audit of just one.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Of their call centers. And what I do know if.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
Foreign scammers and criminal frausters stealing text third dollars from
Michigan stylecare program, we need to find out, we need
to end it. We need to make sure people held
accountable and go to jail for this.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
What do you make of of, you know, some of
the things that we've seen. You know, we just had
this story and it's funny because a call from the
Midwestern or the Midwestern or Dot News mentioned it today.
But this massive pothole in the middle of this bridge
here in West Michigan. Folks, folks, they're looking at I'm
looking at the picture, going, I don't know if I
want to drive on that road. And here we are
(24:30):
eight years later, and the governor said, yeah, yeah, yeah,
we're going to fix We're going to fix the roads,
and we're still dealing with this massive issues to our
whe our infrastructure. You know, the costs go up every
every day you'd have to drive your car on these roads.
You deal with maybe having the you know, pay some
expenses from potholes. It's similar to what you mentioned with
(24:54):
the cost of childcare. I mean, real life, everyday people
here in Michigan. I don't have to tell you, but
you I mean, we're dealing with all of these things.
It's like a slap in the face when you see
money flying around, but it never seems to really the
land in our favor.
Speaker 6 (25:09):
I have a neighbor who's had a cracked windshield for
the last year and a half. He's like, I'm not
going to spend the five hundred dollars to fix it
because I know it's just going to get cracked again
on these on these roads in Michigan. And and this
is the challenge with Governor Whitmer's administration over the last
seven years.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I think you're exactly right.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Last seven years, government's grown by forty five percent in Michigan.
And I don't know anybody who's got a forty five
percent pay increase. It's it's it's it's ridiculous. And you know,
when government expands and grows this quickly, there's gonna be fraud,
there's gonna be waste, there's gonna be abuse, and we
have to work and route route that out. I mean,
just last year, discovered forty five hundred ghosts employees that
(25:48):
were being paid for by the budget, eliminated half of them.
But there's a lot more work to do. And this
is why I'm running for governor, is that we have
to on day one as your next governor, I'm going
to work and row about the waste, fraud, and abuse
that's in the Michigan budget, making sure that whatever is
wasteful spending, we do away with these regulations coming down
(26:10):
from Lansing, preventing job creation investment from happening. And then
our education system. I mean, you look at it. We're
third and highest unemployment the nation. We're bottom ten state.
And education we're a bottom ten state.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
And per CAPP and income growth.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
And family incomes. I mean, the average family in Michigan's
making nine thousand dollars less per year than the average
family nationally, and yet we're spending more on energy and electricity,
spending more on insurance, spending more on government. I was
talking to a guy in Grailing just a few months ago,
and that guy up there told me, he we.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Moved from Tennessee to Michigan. You don't find too many of.
Speaker 6 (26:50):
These people to move from a no income tax state
to income tax data, a right to work state to
not right towards state.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
But so he added up, just.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
This cost of living here in Michigan, electricity, insurance taxes
is it's just the privilege of living in Michigan. It
costs them five thousand dollars more per year. And I
don't know about you, but five thousand dollars is a
lot of money for a farm boy like me.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
And you look at it.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
Day after day, we're making less, we're spending more. It's wrong,
and it's been tough to make it in Michigan. And
this is why I'm doing what I'm doing this because
we need to make it easier for families to make
it here in Michigan. Our small business owners need to
make it easier for them to invest and grow, and
most importantly, for our kids. We need to make sure
our kids are able to make it here. And it
starts with making sure every kid is able to read
(27:37):
by third grade.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Derek has been running for governor Cinemaonori Leaders Republican and
here in Michigan. You know, you know, to your point
about Michigan and making it in Michigan, I see the
state as really the kind of perfect example what the
nation really is. Right now, we have an opportunity. So
many people said that the country's lost, it's too far gone,
(28:02):
and in particularly in the last four years under Biden
in the way everyone in the Democrat Party, those folks
are really trying to sell us down the river. But
I think Michigan's the same way. You know, She's got
some scars, right, she's got some issues from battle, but
at the end of the day, Michigan can be revived,
(28:22):
just like this country. We're watching the president do it
right now. We just got to have the right leader
in place to put Michigan back on the map.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Well, you're Zach right. I mean, Michigan has such great assets.
Our parks are lakes. I mean, you look at Indiana.
They've grown by a million people in the last twenty
five years.
Speaker 6 (28:38):
Michigan's hardly grown and we're starting to shrink again. And
so Governor Whitmer and the Democrats and Lansing have made
it harder, way too hard for working families and small
businesses and our farmers to make it here in Michigan.
We have the rising cost of electricity, energy insurance, the
insane amount of red tape coming out of Lansing. I mean,
when I talk to a manufacturer just all in Holland,
(29:01):
seven hundred employees a boat manufacturer. That's seven hundred people,
families that that that that are supported by this business.
They're trying to replace their docks on a lake and
they're four and a half years in a million and
a half dollars of legal and engineering costs just replace
their docks for manufacturing company. Because of Whitmer's bureaucrats, we
(29:22):
need the insane amount of red tape coming on of
lands and needs to stop.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
Take a you need to take a blow.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Torch the bureaucracy. We're losing jobs or Number one expert
U see cars now, it's jobs and the cost of
insurance is way too high. When I'm up in the up,
you see cars parked the neighborhoods with Wisconsin places because
it's cheaper to get insurance in Wisconsin than in Michigan.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
It's only a matter of time until they moved to Wisconsin.
This has to end.
Speaker 6 (29:46):
We need to build an economy that allows families and
businesses to make.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
It here in Michigan. Lower the cost of living, burn
the pile of red tape.
Speaker 6 (29:53):
Stand with President Trump to bring back MAIDE in the USA.
We need to bring it back to maid in Michigan.
Lower costing insurance. That's why I'm running for governor.

on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine af A.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
Are your headlines from the Midwestern or This Friday, January ninth,
I'm Robin Hoffman. Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow is blasting
efforts to remove criminal illegal aliens as security theater. Her
comments following the shooting in minielis she, of course, is
ignoring the fact that numerous Michigan residents right here needlessly
(31:06):
have lost their lives to criminals living in our country illegally.
Vice President JD. Vance reacting to how the mainstream left
wing media is covering the incident in Minneapolis, he tells
reporters at the White House.
Speaker 7 (31:18):
The way that the media by and large has reported
this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts
our law enforcement officers at risk every single day. That
ice officer nearly had his life ended dragged by a
car six months ago, thirty three stitches in his legs.
So you think maybe he's a little bit sensitive about
(31:38):
somebody ramming him with an automobile.
Speaker 5 (31:40):
For these stories and more, visit the Midwesterner at the
Midwesterner dot News.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
It's just weird. Hang on, folks back on the air.
Speaker 7 (31:54):
By the way, if you can't spell learning, maybe you
shouldn't be in early childhood education.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Cheney events yesterday the Vice president there in a bit
of a racus press conference inside the White House. We
got more on that in an after show you won't
want to miss, and to grab some phone calls for
try and get to you coming up in just a moment. First,
(32:21):
thanks to the folks at the Good Feet Store pounding

need you in the battle, and we need you to
be on your feet ready to go. And if you're
like me at worker place sometimes previously, you know, it's
kind of been a bit of a hassle. Not anymore,
not since I experienced a comfort from the Good Feet Store.
(32:41):
You can walk in and see for yourself today on
twenty eighth Street right there in front of Costco or
in Portage on Westnage in front of Cole's and see
what I've been renting and raving about for years now.
You know, I got two little girls that I'm chasing after.
Whether you got kids or grandkids, you know you want
to be a part of their life and all be
ready to go. That's part of what it is. Matters
(33:04):

and do it in comfort. You can now with the
good feed stores. So thanks to those folks helping us
stay on the air and get things rolling each and
every day. A couple of quick calls, let's go to
grab some folks on a free for all Friday. Norman
is on the line. Norman, welcome in. You're on Westernskin.
Speaker 8 (33:22):
Life, justin.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
How are you fantastic? Sir? Thank you.
Speaker 9 (33:27):
I'm a follower and a first time caller. I just
gotta I want you to help me understand this about
how can the Republican side to renew three more years
of Obamacare if there was so much broad waste and
abuse in this situation?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
All right, So what you're talking about, and it's a
really good question. There were just a handful of Republicans
that voted to renew the well the expand the expanded
Obamacare credits. Just vote just took place in the House
the other day, mostly Democrats, and Trump is not happy
(34:12):
about them. By the way, this is one of the
reasons that the government was shut down, and we went
through all of that, and he said he's gonna vetol
this if it makes it. I don't think it makes
it to the Senate.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (34:24):
But there were discouraging to hear.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Seventeen Republicans, so the more than a handful. But out
of those Republicans who voted for that, uh, let's see
if there's anybody you would recognize Sanlos, aren't Affordham. Maybe
I don't know. Nobody's. Nobody's name from Michigan. I can
tell you that much. There's some Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania,
New York. I don't know. Maybe maybe part of this
(34:48):
vote was and I don't know because I had to
dig in and find out a little bit more about
what exactly went on. But maybe the part of the
vote was they knew it wasn't going to pass in
the Senate, so they didn't want going to go anywhere,
but they could vote for for it. Sometimes they they
play those games and understanding that the vote would look
good on their record back home. I don't I can't
imagine why this would. I mean, you're you're right. There's
(35:11):
fraud only the fraud and driving our costs and a
healthcare up every day. This is a problem we got
to get to fix in front. I stand President Trump
has has an idea how to do that, but that's
to your point. He's not happy about it either. So
I'm glad you brought that up because it's something that
kind of is one of the things that's happening in
the squirrel of chaos that we're dealing with right now.
Speaker 9 (35:33):
Yes, absolutely, And and touch base on that pothole. That
pothole was truly a joke if you looked at they
did a full shot at the bridge and they must
have fixed every pothole through that. It needs to be
replaced completely. He's talking that he's just going to fill
(35:56):
that hole up.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, yeah, that thing, that thing is as a monster.
I don't know if I want to drive. That's kind
of like when you drive down the Macanon Bridge and
you can see right through the grades down to the
little spooky Norman. Thanks for the call, my friend, appreciate it.
Speaker 9 (36:11):
Thank you, justin you got it.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
God bless all right, let me grab another one while
we can. We still got time on a free for
all Friday it is. Let's see Bill in Grand Rapids. Bill,
good morning, you're on Westminskin Live.
Speaker 8 (36:24):
Thank you, justin how you're doing.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Fantastic, sir, Thank you.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
You know, I've been thinking about this, the fraud that
in Minnesota has experienced with the welfare system. I think
that we really need to be looking at us in
the United States. I think there's a group, a very
organized group, that's been stealing money for at least two generations,
and that would be the American people. And the scary
(36:50):
thing about that is that that second generation is now
teaching the third generation how to steal the money as well.
So we really need to spend some time internally in
our own health.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Oh yeah, no, you're listen, Bill, You're absolutely right. I mean,
the problem is anytime you're giving away so called free money,
people are going to find a way to take advantage.
None of these things, welfare or assistance in any sort
of way, we're ever meant to be permanent. They're always
meant to be sort of fixes to help people get
(37:22):
to the next level of being able to step up
and that's the issue. Unfortunately, you know this all too well,
I'm sure, and thank you for your call. What we're
dealing with, what we're seeing a root here is what
we wrestle, not against flesh and blood. This is a
this is a heart issue. This is a problem inside
the spiritual health of this country, the moral fabric and foundation.
(37:45):
And that's that's the only place that gets fixed. Got
to start in the home and in the hearts of folks.
But boy, we don't have time for that full conversation,
although that would probably be the best conversation we could
all have. We'll take some time maybe during the after
show to jump into that and so many other things.
I got that from the press conference and Vice President
(38:07):
Vance yesterday. I got some clips I got to play
from there, plus lots from Minneapolis and Minnesota and the
just the whole thing gone off the rails. We'll talk
about that and so much more coming up on the
after show next Facebook, Twitter XS, rumble Getter and locals.
We'd love to see you jump in, whether it's the
iHeartRadio app or wherever you download your podcast. You can
(38:28):
take us with you wherever you go, live or archived
in the meantime, the Glenn Back program is next. I'm
justin barklay Back Monday. Make it a great day in
a great weekend. God bless
