Like one of Jack's French girls, they'll give you a sketch.
Here's a warm mug of Big Rich, TD, and Fletch.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
Ah!
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Hey, where are the white women at?
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Happy Tuesday to those who celebrate its big, rich TD
and Fletch.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
There it is. You've heard from the horse's mouth.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
It is September 1st, which means get used to seeing
pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts and baked goods galore,
oversized sweaters and boots.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
It's fall, y'all. And you're going to see it all
over a white woman's Instagram.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
I've got to say, everything you said there sounds pretty awesome.
I'm not mad at it.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Happy Halloween, guys. Can we get some nice new pictures
for the bathroom that have cursive writing under them with
maybe a quote from Susan B. Anthony?
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Susan B.
Speaker 7 (02:07):
Anthony.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
That's what your quotes are?
Speaker 6 (02:10):
I figured you would say, you know, something autumnal themed
and it says gather.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, yeah. Or just farmhouse. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
Oh, man.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
It is finally here, guys. Can you feel just the
snap in the air?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
It's crisp. It's cool.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
It's only like 85. At its high today.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I will say that as I rolled the window down,
as I got off the freeway, as I do every morning,
it was a little cooler today.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
It was in the 60s. It was drizzling on me
on the way to work, too. Wow, wow, wow. God,
my things have changed, y'all. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
It is fall.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
Yeah, that intro song, by the way, TD has quickly
elevated himself to being my favorite music producer. He used
to be DJ Khalid for so many years.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
Well, it was DJ Khalid and then it was Quans Jones. Yeah,
that's right. That was short-lived, though, Kwanzaa Jones.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, she's been usurped by the king, and it is TD.
We're going to win.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
We're going to win. We're going to win and win
it all.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
I'm going to say right now, and maybe we'll get
to it in the Fletch Zone, but there are some
interesting things happening that I saw Kevin Acey write about.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
There is very interesting. Yeah. Young Gun. And I thought,
is this the work of Kwanzaa Jones? Because if it is,
I love it. I love it. I mean, let's do
something cool. I don't even want to say this out loud.
My mother just texted, said that was TD's best song yet.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
Mama Fletch, she's up early hanging with us every day.
And so are you. And we're going to reward you
for your efforts because we're sending in a motley crew
not once but twice this show.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
We have two pairs of tickets to give away coming up.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
Also, we have a Power Tool Tuesday brought to you
by Frontwave Credit Union.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Get your hands on a $ 100 gift card.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
To Ace Hardware just for listening to Big Rich TD
and Fletch and a mystery prize you'll find out about
on the other side of Fleetwood Mac.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Good morning, San Diego.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
San Diego State, the Aztecs, they're going to be playing
their first football game this Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium. The
college football season is upon us in San Diego, folks.
Speaker 8 (04:20):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
Yeah, it snuck up fast, to be honest. It felt
like it was so far away, and then all of
a sudden it's here. I agree.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
It's amazing.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
I have a fantasy football draft coming up on.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Friday this week.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
We, all three of us in this room right now, Fletch, UTD,
and myself, We're all in an I heart league and
there's a, there's a lot of fantasy drafts going on
everywhere you look. And so it just sort of steers
your mind back toward the football season. There's going to
be tailgating opportunities. There's going to be, you know, a
(04:58):
barbecue and party opportunities where people are going to be
coming over to your house. You're going to be turning
on the big screen. You're going to be serving up
some food and some drinks. So maybe we'll give you
some ideas of how to make that a little bit
more festive. But, you know, Fletch, you had mentioned earlier,
you had mentioned earlier, you already had two fantasy drafts.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yeah, a dynasty one where you only pick rookies. And
then last night we had like a real official one
with Smack Talk and everybody on FaceTime with each other
and talking. you know what, for the upcoming season.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Someone did pick Josh Jacobs and we all did laugh
at them.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Very fun.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
I think I avoided all the injured people and arrested people.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Jail time.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
But those are tricky things like there, and there are
some fantasy apps. You got to be careful. If you
try to pivot out of the app, open up like
Safari or whatever web browser you use Chrome and, You
try to log on to find out some injury news or.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
You know, an update about somebody's.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Prison time perhaps or a suspension-related absence from the field.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
It's cool that you would have to do that before.
before your draft but.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
The app sometimes the fantasy app that you're using will
time you out and then you have to like log
back into it to get into the draft and then
all of a sudden time's up on your draft clock
so man you know maybe gotta.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Go separate screens i would say have a your phone
ready to go for the googling of things and have
a computer dedicated to the draft that's that's dedication well
you just auto draft td so.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
But where do you watch Bravo?
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, exactly. On the TV in the back. Come on,
you got to have everything lined up. Come on, come on.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
It's almost like when all the planets line up. It's amazing.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
It's amazing.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
Oh, you know what else is amazing is we are
giving away Padres tickets.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Woo!
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Uh, we have the Yankees coming to town here in
San Diego. So the mystery prize today is we're going
to be sending you to a Padres Yankees game. All
you got to do is keep listening to big, rich
TD and Fletch one-on-one five KGB. We're going to tell
you exactly how to win those tickets, the Motley crew tickets,
and we're going to get into this power tool Tuesday,
(07:07):
all of that ahead. But first we got to head
to that warm, humid place.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Called the Fletch Zone, where Fletch talks sports next.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
115 KGB, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
He walked into the room with the confidence of a
man who just 24 hours away from the most anticipated
arrival of his adult life. He's going to meet a
sectional that will support thousands of future hours of sports,
video gaming, snacks, and unconscious mouth open napping.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Tonight he sits in silence.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Tonight he sits dreaming of lumbar support and decorative pillows.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Clear the loading zone. Prepare the living room.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
This is the Fletch Talk.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
The Fletch Talk Sports.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Speaking of mouth open napping, who did I take a
doozy the other day? So after getting home from golf
with all the humidity and everything, it was just on
the bed, mouth open, snoring my ass off. Kendall has
a video of it. Not very flattering. What a day.
Rich mentioned it earlier, but Aztecs football is back on Saturday.
630 kickoff against Portland State at Snapdragon Stadium. I had
(08:18):
a conversation yesterday with Caleb Davis, who's the general manager
of Aztecs athletics. And while we talked a lot about
the new players, the new faces come to the Mesa,
some of the returners, the third time captain Tano Latuli,
just the second or third in program history. What he
really wanted to emphasize with fans, ticket prices have dropped dramatically.
(08:38):
So the move to the PAC 12, what that means
for everybody else is the Aztecs are getting more money
in their program with the TV deal. and a bigger
slice of the pie in terms of the conference money
that they get. So they're turning those savings to you.
There's going to be promotions for four packs of tickets
for family four packs for 75 bucks this year. I
was looking online yesterday. You could get into this game
(09:00):
on Saturday for under $ 25 and students are getting them
completely free. At least for this first game. That's cool, man.
So very, very cool what they're doing. I love it
when somebody takes the savings they're getting and they're turning
it right around to their customers in the business world.
And it seems like that's what the Aztecs are doing
right now. Go Aztecs.com. That's where you go to get tickets. Bingo, baby.
They also just unleashed yesterday a bunch of new tailgating
(09:23):
packages where they could have the tailgate set up for you.
And you just roll into the parking spot in the
tent and the tables are already there for you. So
check it out. They're figuring it out. That was like
the Raiders did that, didn't they? Yeah, and a bunch
of NFL teams do. I didn't know they still did it. Yeah,
with a little bit of the parking situation at Snapdragon
is going to change this year because of some of
the building that they're doing. So they're trying to make
(09:45):
everything a little easier on the front end so that
once you get there, it's just park it and go.
Speaker 6 (09:50):
Yeah, the family pack deal, I just Googled this. You
can buy a four game promotional pack for seventy six
dollars plus fees, which includes parking and then single game
tickets for the Aztecs. You can buy them, obviously, from GoAztecs.com,
but there's other distributors as well. You can get the
get in price now is is great. For under $ 100,
(10:14):
you can bring a family to an Aztecs football game,
which is what it should be, which is a great price,
and it's going to be a great season. I mean,
they're rolling off a successful campaign last year, and rumor
has it the offense looks really solid. They've got a
lot of pieces returning defensively. This is going to be great.
(10:35):
A really fun season. I can't wait for it.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
And Rich and I are Pac-12 broadcasters now, TV, so
get ready to deal with our big heads. I've heard that.
You guys have mentioned that several thousand times. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Only several thousand. All right, Padres with an eventful day yesterday.
They get a 5-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. How
about Manny Machado, who's been absent from the lineup over
the last couple weeks? It feels like he's been dealing
with a finger injury. But Manny Machado, big night, fought
(10:59):
four hits in the game. Diamondbacks also lose yesterday, so
the Padres retake the lead in the wildcard race. Here
we go. The big news of yesterday is Ethan Salas,
20 years old, has been the Padres' number one prospect
in the minor league system for the last several years.
He's officially getting called up. A little September call-up, which
every year this happens. They do this on September 1st because...
(11:22):
It will not impact his rookie eligibility for next year,
so his contract situation stays exactly the same, but he's
going to get big league experience, and he's going to
get it during a race to the postseason. Who knows
how much he's actually going to play? They are for
sure going to get him some at-bats, but this is
just so that the future of the franchise, which they
believe he is, can have some big league experience in
(11:42):
his 20-year-old season, which is crazy.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Well, they did this a couple years ago with Jackson
Farrell Merrill.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
They sure did. It worked out. We've been waiting to
see this here. Ethan Salas has been a name that's
been floating around the Padres atmosphere for about three or
four years now. And people are very, very excited.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
The Padres farm system is really good. And the reason
why you know that is there's been plenty of trades
for the Padres over the course of the many seasons
that AJ Preller has been in.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Charge of the personnel.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
And many of those trades have included Padres prospects and
many of the major league baseball teams, which have all
stars on their roster include former Padres prospects.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
The Washington nationals basically are a team that's built out
of former Padres prospects.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
So it's, it's just kind of one of those things
that Here in San Diego, if there's one thing A.J.
Preller has done a really nice job of is had
an eye for talent, bringing them into the system, getting
them good enough to either trade them off to bring
in other assets or to farm for our team. That
has been less so. You know what I mean? We
(12:52):
haven't had too many farm system guys make it to
the roster.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
We'll see about Ethan Salas. All right, finally, and Rich,
I want your opinion on this. Aaron Donald unretires from
the NFL. After two or three seasons where he's been gone,
there's a chance he doesn't play in week one. Now,
I'll tell you why the speculation is mounting. Sean McVay,
the head coach of the Rams, was asked about this yesterday.
He said, oh, yeah, absolutely. There's a chance he doesn't
play week one. That could be a possibility. I wouldn't
(13:17):
rule anything out yet. Now, they're saying it's because of
the uniqueness of the Rams week one game. It's not
just his first game in three years, but it's the
first ever game played in Australia. The Rams are also
traveling out the day before the game to try to
make it just as business trip-like as possible, but they're
not going to get acclimated where the Niners are leaving
tomorrow for this game. So is there a chance that
(13:38):
Aaron Donald actually misses week one after all this pomp
and circumstance?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
It is possible.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
And it's actually something that I was thinking about for
the Rams sake. I think putting him on a pretty
strict pitch count to start his season should be the
way he goes. I mean, think about it. He's barely
warmed up his pads in training camp. He's barely played
football over the past three seasons at all. And so
with that kind of limited work, you've got to hit
(14:06):
yourself into shape a little bit. And Aaron Donald's got
a ways to go before he gets himself into hitting shape.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Now, do I think he's going to be effective?
Speaker 7 (14:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
But if you use them for if you don't use
them week one and then use them for just situational
snaps week two, maybe get them. a dozen or so
snaps and then you use them for 20 snaps in
week three and you build them up gradually maybe you
hover around having them in for about 30 to 40
snaps a game all season long and then when you
(14:35):
need them in the games that matter the most in
january well he'll be available and.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Healthy for you they're doing the dodgers thing yeah exactly.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Correct well he's on the team he's collecting a paycheck
so i would expect he he either has to answer
phones in the meantime Or maybe he's going to run
and grab food for the team.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
By the way, the way his contract is set up,
$ 10 million is already in his bank. That was a
signing bonus. $ 10 million is his base salary for the year.
He can get an additional $ 10 million if they just
go win the Super Bowl. That's all they have to do?
Speaker 6 (15:04):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
That would be pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
So it's like he gets $ 1. 5 million for the first
round of the playoffs, $ 1. 5 for the second, $ 2. 5 for
the third, and then $ 2. 5 for the Super Bowl. Whatever
it is, it adds up to another $ 10 million.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
I sort of feel like they should just do that
so he could get all that money.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Listen, they expect him to play. And if he's not
going to play, he's going to work. That's all I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So tend to the grass or something.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Or start scooping mashed potatoes out of chafing dishes.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
One of the two. We'll see you at the Rolling
Stones concert. He'll be picking up tater tots.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
Coming up next, speaking of football, we're about to elevate
your tailgate with the new gadgets, toys, and necessities that
you need to make your game day right.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
That's next.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
It's just the tip with Big Rich.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yes, a little advice.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
I like to slide out your way. It's yours for
the taking. If you want it, if not, shove it
back this way. No harm, no foul. It's just the
tip with Big Rich. And today's tip is if you
don't like the name of something, just rename it.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
No big deal.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
If there's a gulf in your life that you thought,
I don't like the name of that gulf, change it.
If there's a lake somewhere where you're like, man, this
lake is superior, but that name's taken. It's got a
name I don't like, so I'm going to change it.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
So, do you have to have approval at all, or
you just change it?
Speaker 6 (16:25):
No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
You can just change it.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
So, this has.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Happened multiple times over the course of our administration here
with our current president. Mm-hmm. And it's given me the thought, like,
we all have that power in our own life. If
you don't like the name of something... You just.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Call it something different.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Yeah, just call it something different. That's what Kat does.
Force people to get.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Kat just leaves letters off of things.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
She calls the grocery store The Grosh.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
And by the way, we all now know what she's
talking about, even though we've made fun of her incessantly.
It's come to the point where she does it so
often we can't even tease her anymore.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
It's just the way she talks.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Now, her problem is like when two words can be
the same thing, like the microwave and the microphone are
both just mic. Yeah, that doesn't that doesn't make sense. Yeah,
that's that's tough. It's tough.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Well, I mean, we got a dog and the dog's
name was Birdie. And we're like, no, that dog's named Dakota.
And so now we have a dog named Dakota.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
But you still call it a dog.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
I mean, yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
Well, but we could call it, instead of dog, you
could just call it big cat.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Oh, my God. It's changed on Google Maps already. You
could do that. You could do that.
Speaker 9 (17:35):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
I see that.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
You're talking about the lake?
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
It is Lake America now.
Speaker 9 (17:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
And by the way, it is also the Gulf of
America now.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
But that's my point. Like, why are we wasting our time?
Why is it the Pacific Ocean should be the American Ocean? Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Well, but that one, I guess so.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
It borders our country, TD.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Stop. Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
I guess. So does the Atlantic, though. Just also call
it the American Ocean.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
But saying the Gulf of America is in our country,
I mean, that would be North or South America.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Well, same with the oceans.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
I suppose. Yeah. But I guess it's also the.
Asian Ocean.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Yeah, but why are we... Dude, dude, dude. Wait, what,
are you worried about offending people?
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Change it. If you don't like it, change it.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Don't be a jerk.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
The dog's name was Birdie, TV, and I say Dakota,
so now you call it Dakota. I'm sorry, what, the
big cat? The big cat that used to be named Birdie,
which this is all getting very confusing, is now Dakota.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
If you go to the Grosche and you're thinking to yourself,
I want to bring the big cat Dakota with me...
There's a bunny out there, or as I like to
call it, smaller cat fluffy tail.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
Everything is a cat in some manner?
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, that's right. Okay.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Anyways, cat's going to be back tomorrow, we think.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
We're going to change her name?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Yeah, and now she's going to be dog.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
58 tailgating season is upon us as the NFL is
about to return in just days. And the college football
season has already kicked off last weekend and we'll continue
here in San Diego state with the Aztecs kicking off
this Saturday. That's going to be a six 40 kickoff.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
All right.
Speaker 6 (19:24):
So if you want to get into how to tailgate better,
that's what you're into. You know, there are some advances
that really are turning my head. For an example, if
you live in a small place in San Diego, many
people do. Apartment living is pretty popular and you don't
have a lot of storage space.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Coolers can be pretty inconvenient.
Speaker 6 (19:45):
So Coleman came out with something called the Snap and
Go 35 quart cooler. where it it collapses down to
about the size of a normal cooler's lid snap.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
And go i've seen these cooler.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
It's the world's first collapsible hard-sided cooler it snaps open
in seconds holds ice for up to 42 hours and
collapses flat for easy trunk storage. So you can leave
it in the car or after you tailgate, you can
put it somewhere in a closet, you know, hallway closet,
something like that in your apartment.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
These are nice. I know you said 42 hours and
I think my buddy has one. I don't know if
it's Coleman. It did not hold ice cream.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
It did get melty pretty quick, but you're giving some
up to get a lot, right? Having the cooler that
fits in the size of a bookshelf is pretty great.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
It collapses down. It's under five inches tall.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
It's crazy.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
And it's got 4.6 stars on Google with 230 reviews.
So it's relatively new, but if it holds water, at least,
if it proves to be waterproof and Where you're not
going to have leaks, man, that's a pretty good deal
for something that's going to save you a lot of space. Also,
this I thought was really cool. These are called the
(20:57):
QB54 chair football game sets. And basically, they're chairs you
can sit in, but they turn into goalposts.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
What?
Speaker 2 (21:07):
That's nice.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
They come with little mini footballs, and you can play
games where you have field goal kicking contests.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
In the tailgate parking lot.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
That's cool. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
How much are those?
Speaker 6 (21:20):
$ 169. Now, that's going to set you back a little bit.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
We get them for the studio. Instead of sitting in
our office chairs, we sit in those chairs. Yes. Now
you're talking. Cool.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Staying with the chairs.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
GCI Outdoors has what's called the Freestyle Rocker. So this
is one of those collapsible, foldable camping chairs, except this
one's a rocking chair.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Oh, yeah. I saw that at the Costco the other day.
The Tommy Bahama one? I saw that, too. I don't know.
I don't know who made it. Tommy Bahama.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
Got it, got it. It was like a little swinging thing.
It looks really nice. Now, we have one of those
that you're describing. It's almost like a pop-up camping chair.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
That's a sling.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Oh, yeah. This is different. This is actually like a
rocking chair you're talking about.
Speaker 6 (22:03):
It actually has the rocking chair mechanisms, and so.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
The sides stay sturdy.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Even though it's collapsible.
Speaker 6 (22:10):
And then it even has a little side table that
you can fold up and fold down for your beer
or your ribs.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
How handy.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Now, speaking of ribs or grilled items, Blackstone has come
out with a 22-inch griddle that comes with the feet
and everything.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
For only $ 99. What? Yeah. Yeah, I'm looking at it here.
Speaker 9 (22:30):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:31):
Oh, wow. It's a portable tabletop griddle that gives you
a massive flat-top cooking surface for burgers, eggs, brats. You
can fold it all completely down and you can transport
it wherever you need to go.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Not to poke holes in that one. And I really
do hate to be this guy. What's going on? When
you tailgate, the assumption is you're going to something right afterwards.
With Blackstones, you kind of need to clean them right away. Otherwise,
they're a real pain in the butt. You got to
heat them up again. You got to re-oil. You got
to do a lot of stuff afterwards. So, it's just true.
What do you got to do? Get you something.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Oh, I'll give you another one.
Speaker 6 (23:06):
So you're setting up TVs at your tailgate. You know,
some people will just show up to a tailgate just
to tailgate. They don't even got tickets to the game.
They now sell these solar power generators. Oh, yeah. So
you put these solar panels on top of your car.
You connect the wire down to your generator. The thing
is quiet, whisper quiet. Actually, I mean, there's no, it
(23:27):
might have a fan that keeps it cool. You can
plug anything you want into it. TVs, mobile hotspots, anything
that requires electricity and an electrical receptacle. You can plug
into your little power station there.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
I saw they had these Bluetooth projectors for about $ 85
right now on sale. You could stream it from your phone.
Just cast the image on whatever you could find. A wall,
a sheet, the side of your car. Now, we've experienced
a heat wave here. The last one I'll talk about.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
Is the Shark Flex Breeze Hydro-Go Misting Fan. This is
a cordless, chargeable fan that you fill a water reservoir,
you turn it on, and it blows a misting, cooling
mist at you as you sit there at your tailgate
and you roast in the sun and get just roasty
red from the lack of sunscreen you're wearing.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
I'm fine with that. I would want that. We have one.
I would choose one of those.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
You have one of the misting fans?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I have the handheld one.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Oh, I got you. This one does it for you.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
It's the handheld. You're like holding it like this, but
you fill it up with water and it kind of
sprays you with mist.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
And this feels like a Labor Day sale because it
originally priced at $ 150. The Shark Flexbreed HydraGo misting fan
available for $ 80.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
These are a lot of items you have to carry
around with you.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
You're going to need them all.
Speaker 6 (24:45):
And then call us because we're going to come to
your tailgate.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Big Rich TDM Flat. I was going to say her name,
but you know what? I don't think I'm going to
say her name.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
She was indicted in Forth County on three counts of
murder and one count of conspiracy. After a multi-agency investigation
found evidence, she worked with the two teenage shooters to
record and disseminate a live stream of the attack. I
guess out in North Carolina, you can be tried as
an adult at 17 and also just aiding and abetting.
(25:31):
You are also tried with the counts of murder.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (25:36):
Good.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
Yeah. Same.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
I think that the less of this and good for you, TD.
I don't know if I would have thought of it,
but I think a lot of the mental illness around
this and that's not an excuse for murder, but is
is around attention seeking. I think there is a certain
aspect to this as they profile some of these horrific
(26:00):
crimes that these people want to become famous or remembered
for their actions.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
They're horrific actions.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
And so by not speaking their names, hopefully that leads
to less people interested in doing these.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Types of things.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Even if it makes one.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
Disinterested. I suppose we help. But man, it's a pretty
twisted world at the moment, it feels like. But also
Lionel Richie. Lionel Richie in the ICU. But he checked
himself into the hospital. We got the headlines yesterday that
Lionel Richie was in the ICU and things were dicey.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
It looks like he's OK.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Like I said, he checked himself into the hospital over
the weekend following a show in St. Louis while he
was performing at the Muni on Saturday night. I guess
he appeared to one point lean on the piano for support.
This was according to a video that was shown online.
Fans also said he asked for a chair to sit
down for the final number of the night all night long.
It was after the show that he checked himself into
(26:54):
a local hospital to have some tests done, potentially for
slight dehydration, which seems to always be the thing that
stars say when they're in the hospital.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah, it's interesting. Hopefully, it's just that.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
Hopefully, he was feeling faint because he didn't have enough
water or whatever it might be. Yeah, these.
These aging rockers, though, they're staying on stage because the
more we speak to folks, obviously, we interview rock stars
all the time on one on one five KGB.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Touring is where you make your money.
Speaker 8 (27:29):
Right.
Speaker 9 (27:29):
But.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Does Lionel Rich need to make more money? I got
that American Idol money, dude. I know.
Speaker 5 (27:35):
And Lionel Richie, you're a star. And you feed off
of it. And you love being out there. And you
love performing for the fans. So I get all that.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
But man, I hope at 77 I can retire.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
I know.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I hope I'm not out on stage. He only has
an estimated net worth of $ 200 million.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
See, and that's my point.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
He could probably use.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
He could probably use... He's got another $ 300 million.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
I was going to say probably a few hundred million more.
I would say $ 300 would probably satiate his appetites, all
of his worldly delights.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
But he needs to work.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
When.
Speaker 6 (28:07):
Lionel Richie hangs up the microphone for good, that means
he's depriving the world of Lionel Richie.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
This is true. This is true.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
And we don't want that. We don't want that.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Now, we'll say it took him 77 years to amass
$ 200 million, so he has to work another $ 100 million.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
80 years or so. We'll see him soon. Check it out.
Speaker 6 (28:26):
With inflation, he could probably get there by 2047. And
I mean, maybe this sounds selfish, but I don't want
him retiring until he's at least 120 years old.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
He also makes $ 10 million a year doing American Idol.
Does American Idol gross $ 10 million a year in profit?
That's just him. That's one of their hosts. Who else
is a host? Is Randy Jackson still there? No, I
don't think so, but that'd be cool. It's Katy Perry.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
It'd be funnier if it was Rampage, Jack.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Luke Bryan? Yeah, I think that's it. Man, the good
old days. Simon Cowell, Pal Abdul, and Randy Jackson.
Speaker 5 (29:01):
Those were the days with Seacrest up there on stage.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Seacrest is still the host, right? I have no idea. Actually,
I think he is. I think he is. I thought
he was Wheel of Fortune guy now.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
He is.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
He's that too. He's that too. He walked away from
the live show out in New York so he could
do Wheel of Fortune.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
But man, man, also the toys are back in town.
The iconic toy retailer Toys R Us is opening up
a new location out in Northridge, the Northridge Fashion Center
in the San Fernando Valley.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
There was a Sephora.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
The Sephora closed and there's a sign out front that
says Toys R Us coming soon.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
I'm so glad. I think all the 90s.
Speaker 6 (29:40):
Things that we grew up with are coming back around.
Pizza Hut. There's a franchise owner who's involved with Pizza
Hut who's completely transformed all of his mostly Midwest locations
of Pizza Hut back to what.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
They looked like in the 90s.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
There are lines wrapping around the building to try to
get into Pizza Hut.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
You open toys or Russ's, you are going to have
kids lined up down that Northridge mall.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
All right.
Speaker 9 (30:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
And I don't want to grow up people like, yeah,
because I'm a Motley Crue.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
If you want to be.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
Lined up outside of snap dragon stadium, getting ready for
that show, September 18th, when they play with Tesla and
extreme at North Island stadium, Credit Union Amphitheater. Sorry, not Snapdragon,
but down in Chula Vista. You want these Motley Crue tickets,
you know what to do. Call 888-570-1015 and call at 737.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah, 737. Caller 10. You're getting those tickets. Tailgate Foods.
Speaker 6 (30:39):
How do you upgrade what's really hard to upgrade? Maybe
the unupgradeable. But we'll try our best. I found an
article at a website called Serious Eats. which says that
you got to use these recipes at your next tailgate
to really elevate the flavors.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Before you say anything, Rich, I just want everyone to know,
tailgate food is already perfect.
Speaker 9 (31:01):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
And tailgate food is what you think tailgate food is.
There's not very many rules, but I will say, if
you just wrap everything you're doing in bacon, you already
upgraded your tailgate. That's a good point. That is true.
That is true.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Now, are you actually talking, you are out in a
parking lot cooking this food, or are you just calling
it tailgate food, but you're making it at home?
Speaker 4 (31:17):
See, now.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Tailgating's wherever you... It's a state of mind. It's not
a location.
Speaker 6 (31:22):
I agree with Fletch, but I also do agree with you, TD. Like,
this all could be circumstantial. So I'm going to say...
For the sake of this list, it's just get it
in where you can fit it in. If these sound
good to you, give me a yes. If they don't,
say no. It starts off strong, and this one's a
little obvious and on the nose, but it listed buffalo wings.
(31:45):
All right.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
It's like, yeah, obviously, yes. That has to be part
of your tailgate plan.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
I would agree.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Quick question. Ranch or blue cheese or both?
Speaker 5 (31:54):
I would always go ranch, but I think blue cheese
is absolutely foul.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
I would always go blue cheese, and I love blue cheese.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
And me, I'm a both guy.
Speaker 6 (32:01):
Like, legitimately, I've been known to dunk them both, you know, like,
and just go back and forth.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
And I don't mind. One after the other. You know,
I was at Dirty Birds this weekend, and I got
a whole mess of blue cheese. And I was the
only person there who was eating the blue cheese. Everyone
kept saying it smells like feet. I love blue cheese.
I don't love feet. I like the funk on the
blue cheese. The funk is where it loses me. It's
a little vomitous.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
By the way, yeah, it is a little. I do
agree with that.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
When I was a kid, I remember saying it smelled
like throw up to me. And as an adult, I'm like,
I don't know why that's appetizing to me now. That's
really awful. Number two, this is kind of, again, along
the same line, miso caramel oven fried chicken wings. So
it's like a lot of brown sugar, fish sauce, miso paste, garlic.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
It's more Asian style wings. Does any of that sound appetizing?
Speaker 6 (32:53):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Well, I mean... I don't know. You lost me at
fish sauce. If you just didn't tell TD any of
that stuff was on it, he would like them. They're
basically teriyaki wings.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Imagine oven fried wings with golden brown sesame seeds on top.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
I would probably be in on that. But don't tell
me how you made them. I will not. Okay, check
this out.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
I know how TD's going to feel about this. Fried
pickle dip.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Yeah, I'll see you later. I'm also out on that.
That sounds awful. Wait, is it made of fried pickles? No,
it's fried pickles that you dip in like ranch. Well, no.
Speaker 6 (33:27):
So it's ranch dressing mix, sour cream and mayonnaise, and
then the creamy tangy base.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
With some chopped pickles.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
On top and then you hang on and then you
add fried like scallions or fried onions on top of
that and you say oh god that sounds so good
to me oh all right moving on a creamy corn
dip with feta mint and tomatoes that's a huge.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
Pass man oh man yeah i mean who's making that
is that this is for cat's tailgate corn dip with
mint this sounds incredible Deviled egg dip.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
You dip a Ruffles with Ridges chip in deviled egg dip.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Yeah, I would do that. I would do that too.
Deviled eggs are the worst. People just make up the
fact that they think they look good. They suck.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
They're so delicious. I love deviled eggs. They make me
want to vomit. Here's what I do not understand. If
you made me eggs, I would eat two, maybe three eggs.
My normal, when I make eggs for myself, scrambled eggs,
four eggs.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
And I'll be honest with you, after I'm done eating them,
I'm pretty full.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Right.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Deviled eggs? I could probably eat a dozen eggs. Thank you.
That's great. Restaurants here in San Diego, the Riviera and
La Mesa, their appetizer deviled eggs, for one, by the way,
is like seven eggs.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
I remember one time- It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Kendall gets it every time.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
I don't eat any of them. I went to a
brunch buffet, okay, one time.
Speaker 6 (34:52):
There was a cooling chafing tray out on the buffet
with deviled eggs.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Whoa.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
I ate all. They were there.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
They were there. It's their fault. Let me scroll down.
Eggplant and pepper dip. No.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Save your time. Oh, hot jalapeno popper dip. Yes, please.
And then again, you scoop that up.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
It's just all the best things of a jalapeno popper
just stuffed in a skillet.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
It's a lot of dips here. Maybe just use your hand.
Ultimate sliders.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Now check this out.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
It's basically taking animal style sauce on a pork slider.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Pork slider and animal sauce. The animal sauce is a
Thousand Island dressing. Yeah, basically. On a pork slider?
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Yeah, I'm telling you, the way this picture makes it look.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
It's like a Reuben. No, it'd be like pulled pork,
like a pulled pork sandwich with animal sauce.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
But I mean, a Reuben isn't a Thousand Island with sauerkraut.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Maybe I'm wrong.
Speaker 6 (35:43):
Maybe I'm wrong. No, I guess it's Reuben's sauce. Muffle
lettuce-style sandwich is basically eggplant, not a big.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Oh, actually, is it? Is it eggplant? Why is there
so much eggplant?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
Who made the list? The Eggplant Coalition.
Speaker 6 (35:56):
Buckeye brownies, which is basically a peanut butter cup.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Brownie style.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Cornflake marshmallow treats instead of the Rice Krispies.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Bring it on. What are we talking here?
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Finally, we're getting to the good stuff.
Speaker 6 (36:09):
If you want to check out this, it's the top
12 upgrades to your tailgate on SeriousEats.com.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
If any of those sounded good to you, that's where
you find them.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
Yep. We need your DIY disaster stories.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
It is a Power Tool Tuesday. We do it every Tuesday.
Presented by Frontwave Credit Union. We have a $ 100 gift
card to Ace Hardware up in Oceanside. Up for grabs
for our Tool of the Week. That's the person who
calls in with their best DIY disaster story. So if
you've done it yourself and it didn't go well, we
want to hear from you today. 888-570-1015. We got Pete
(36:46):
on the line from Point Loma.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Pete, what's going on, man? What's your DIY disaster?
Speaker 9 (36:51):
My do-it-yourself disaster is currently ongoing in that I'm having
a pest control problem, specifically ants.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
It is really, really hot outside right now.
Speaker 9 (37:02):
So all the ants that were perfectly content... doing whatever
they're due outside, are now trying to get inside to
my apartment. And I have been trying relatively unsuccessfully for
the last two weeks to keep them out. And it's
sort of like something like that scene in a James
Cameron movie, Aliens, where they're already inside the apartment.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
They're behind the walls.
Speaker 9 (37:23):
At one point, they came out of the electric socket
in the kitchen.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Oh, no. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (37:29):
So at this point, I'm willing to take any suggestions.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
Any advice.
Speaker 9 (37:34):
I've done peppermint.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I've done cinnamon.
Speaker 9 (37:37):
We've done household raid.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
We've called professionals.
Speaker 9 (37:41):
I'm at the end of my rope.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Whatever you got, give it to me.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Arson or sell the house. I mean, that's the only
two choices.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
You can burn it down. Insurance fraud.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
You know what?
Speaker 6 (37:52):
Honestly, what we did when we first bought our property,
we realized we had ants. We had a big crawl
space where we still do under the house, and we
didn't know where they were coming from.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
So we just left the house and bug bombed it.
Speaker 6 (38:09):
We legitimately just had it tented and said, hey, if
you could find the most vicious gas that you can
release under the circus tent from hell to kill all
the ants. And somehow it worked. We haven't had a
reoccurrence since. You said you're in an apartment, Pete. Are
you upstairs or downstairs?
Speaker 9 (38:28):
I am upstairs, but we're also directly across the street
from a public park that has a softball field.
Speaker 8 (38:35):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
You know what? I mean, honestly, they have these little
taro ant baits. They're little liquid baits. They're flat. You
cut off one end of them, and ants just swarm
to them, and then they bring it back to wherever
the nest is or ant apartment or wherever they live,
and then it's supposed to kill them.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
But they seem to work for me. I use those.
Try those.
Speaker 6 (38:57):
Now, are these ants on your side or your wife's side?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
No, I'm teasing. That's the uncles you got to watch
out for. Yeah, honestly. Because they get drunk at parties.
Speaker 9 (39:08):
Oh, man.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Well, hey, Pete, we appreciate the call. And you're in
the running now. That's how it works.
Speaker 6 (39:13):
You call in with your best or worst DIY disaster story, depending.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
On how you look at it now. We want to
hear from you.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
888-570-1015.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Best story wins $ 100 gift card. to Ace Hardware.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
If you're our tool of the week on a power
tool Tuesday brought to you by Frontwave Credit Union.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
1015 KGB. Trending with TD.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
I'm a little shocked here because I think she's currently
the queen of... These afternoon talk shows. Kelly Clarkson is
done with the Kelly Clarkson show. Yesterday was the last day.
She closed up shop after seven years. She has a
singing bit that she does called Kelly by Request. The
very last song she did was her latest single, I'd
(39:55):
Be Lying. And then she chatted with her kids on stage,
said thanks, and see you later.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Interesting. Interesting. You know what?
Speaker 6 (40:02):
I will say that daytime television feels.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
I mean, almost.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
As antiquated as TVs without remote controls.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
Like, it's a thing of the past. I don't know
how many people tune in for those type of shows anymore.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
I don't either, but I know that the clips from
her daytime television show were great.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Going viral almost every day. Yeah. It would be like
you Kelly to song and she would like take someone's
song and make it better. It sounded better when she
sang it.
Speaker 6 (40:31):
I mean, if you think about it from her standpoint
or even the studio standpoint, like what's the cost benefit
of it? You know, you're, How many people does it
take to run a show that size? I mean, you
could just move all that promotion to social media alone.
She could do covers of songs and for very low budget,
you could get massive amounts of followers and views and
(40:53):
clicks and all those things. Right.
Speaker 5 (40:55):
Man, if we had $ 7 million, does anybody have $ 7 million?
Speaker 8 (40:59):
Not yet.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
I forgot to ask that.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Not liquid.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Just let me free up some assets.
Speaker 5 (41:04):
If you can move some things around, we can own
an entire town just an hour away from here. The
city of Campo, or town of Campo, is for sale
for $ 7 million. A historic unincorporated community and former World
War II military base.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
It's actually $ 6.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
6 million, 15 and three quarter acre property at... 431
Jeb Stewart Road. So about an hour east of here.
We could own it, guys.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
Rich, here's the thing. The mayor-governor thing that you were
trying to do wasn't really working out. Let's make you
a king.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
This is your campaign manager, by the way. You are
the new King Richard. Okay.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Isn't that already a thing? That would be pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (41:46):
However.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
You're going to be king of the town?
Speaker 6 (41:48):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
He owns the town.
Speaker 4 (41:50):
King.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
King is a tough term for a lot of people
these days.
Speaker 6 (41:53):
I kind of feel like we were onto something when
we were trying to combine the words governor and mayor
into either movener or gayer.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
I don't think either of those actually ended up working.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
Right.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
We did do those tests, and nobody liked either.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
Well, you'd own the town, so you could just choose.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Oh, I'll be— oh, yeah, that's a good point.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
Oh, man. I guess you could think about it. You
have time.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
You have time.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
You've got to— You've got three or four minutes to
think about it. Yeah, you've still got to free up
your assets.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
And you say it's in Campo?
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Yeah, you've just got to move savings to checkings and
work some stuff out.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
You've probably got to call the bank to say, hey,
I'm going to be making a $ 7 million purchase on
my card.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Imagine all the points. Just let that go through. No
big deal.
Speaker 5 (42:38):
Burning Man is apparently underway again. Now, Kat had a
friend who went to Burning Man last year and had to... Well,
I guess she went MIA because her phone didn't work or.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
She lost the phone. Yeah, I don't think there's service
out there.
Speaker 5 (42:50):
But there was high winds last year that blew all
kinds of tents down and.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Well, here we go again.
Speaker 5 (42:56):
The the orgy dome out at Burning Man has fire
threat and the winds are picking up and now attractions
are leaving Burning Man once again.
Speaker 6 (43:06):
So it's.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Not gonna work out again i saw a pretty cool
uh statue they have this year was like a eiffel
tower that's like broken it looks very post-apocalyptic it's like
life-size eiffel tower like kind of half buried in the
ground it's weird i saw i saw some weird spider-man
looking thing.
Speaker 6 (43:22):
I just sort of feel like same conversation about kelly
clarkson just apply it to the orgy dome like why
have all of this pomp and circumstance surrounding the kelly
clarkson show if all she's doing is covering.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
Other people's hits on social media. You could do that anywhere.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
Why go out to the desert and build an orgy
dome when there's so many large backyards in San Diego?
Speaker 1 (43:44):
You could build one in, I don't know, Campo. Now
check this out.
Speaker 6 (43:49):
As the captain of Campo, I think I'm going to
first enact a rule that says, guess what? Yes, orgy
domes are acceptable. Is it actually going to be a
dome though? Because this one's just a square tent. I
want it to be geodesic.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
I want it to allow a lot of natural light in.
Speaker 9 (44:05):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
And I want some of those weird hanging wicker chairs
for people to use as they will.
Speaker 4 (44:10):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (44:11):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
That makes sense. That makes sense.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
Are there going to be any of the go-go dancer cages?
Speaker 1 (44:15):
There are going to be poles. There are going to
be cages. There are going to be.
Speaker 6 (44:18):
Platform shoes with fish bowls inside of them. I'm not
sure how they get the fish in there or how
they feed the fish, but I want them swimming.
Speaker 4 (44:25):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
And a lot of swimming.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
I get that.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
I get that.
Speaker 5 (44:28):
I'm going to start looking for a property now.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Are you going Captain of Campo? That seems kind of late. Ooh,
Captain Campo? That's what he said. Captain Campo is pretty cool.
I missed it. I missed the title.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Captain of Campo or Captain Campo.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
But like C-A-P apostrophe N.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Yeah, like crunch. Look, he's one of my favorite captains.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
Anyways, we ain't capping here. We're sending you to Motley Crue, dog.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
888-570-1015.
Speaker 6 (44:56):
If you want those tickets, we got a pair for
you up for grabs. Call or 10 at 888-570-1015.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
You're going. You got to call right now.
Speaker 6 (45:06):
815-KGB, give us a dial and give us your best
do-it-yourself disaster story.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
You can win.
Speaker 6 (45:14):
$ 100 to Ace Hardware and Oceanside, all presented by.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Frontwave Credit Union on a Power Tool Tuesday.
Speaker 6 (45:20):
You could be our tool of the week with the
best DIY disaster story. We got Kelly from San Diego
calling us. She says she's got a good one. What's
your story, Kelly?
Speaker 8 (45:30):
Okay, so I had a day off from work. And
I thought, this will be a good day to do
some yard work. I was working on a gardening box.
So anyhow, I put a conditioning treatment in my hair.
Because I said, well, I'll be outside in the yard.
Nobody's going to see me. Put a plastic bag over
my head. Not over my face, but you know what
(45:52):
I mean. Covering the hair. So I'm out there pulling
weeds and throwing them in the recycle bin.
Speaker 5 (45:57):
Blah, blah, blah.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
And then.
Speaker 8 (46:00):
I'm done. I get up to move the recycle bin. Well,
it's all top heavy at this point from all the weeds.
So I pull it. It topples over on top of me,
and I'm trapped under the recycle bin with a trash
bag on my head. My cell phone is across the yard.
(46:21):
Nobody else is home. I got nobody to help me
at this point. I'm stuck under the recycle bin.
Speaker 6 (46:29):
So.
Speaker 8 (46:30):
I finally squirmed my way out from under the recycle bin.
I can't move my arm. It's, like, severely painful. Turns
out that I broke my wrist.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 8 (46:46):
To go to the hospital. Remember, I still got the
trash bag and the conditioning treatment on my head. So
I had to get in the shower and rinse off.
But I only had one arm because the other arm
was broke. So anyhow, that was it. I got to
the hospital. I got my first cast in my late 20s. And,
you know, it was purple cast. And I own that cast.
Speaker 6 (47:09):
Kelly, that's incredible. I'm going to be dead honest with you, Kelly.
If somehow you didn't make it out from under the
recycling bin, can you imagine how confused the police would
be when they arrived on the scene? Like, how on
earth did she actually die? We don't really understand. I'll
(47:30):
tell you what, Kelly, we've heard enough.
Speaker 8 (47:31):
But you know what?
Speaker 4 (47:32):
Listen.
Speaker 8 (47:33):
I would have had the shiniest, prettiest hair at my funeral.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
It looks so good. It looks so good.
Speaker 6 (47:38):
Well, you're going to have a shiny, pretty $ 100 gift
card to Ace Hardware up in Oceanside. You have won
the tool of the week presented by Frontwave Credit Union.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Kelly, congratulations. That was an awesome story.
Speaker 8 (47:56):
Thank you. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (47:58):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (47:59):
Well, stay on the line. We need a little more
information from you. And we do it every week. That's
exactly how it works. Call in with your best DIY
disaster story. You can win a hundred bucks to Ace Hardware,
just like Kelly did. All presented by Frontwave Credit Union
on a Power Tool Tuesday. September 1st, all of a
sudden the leaves start changing and people start thinking about
(48:22):
hopping on maybe a clothing shop website and buying a sweater.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
I put a flannel on this morning and thought, there's
no way I'll make it through the day.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
There's no way. How did it feel, though? It felt
real nice, Clark. I bet it did. It felt real nice.
I mean, that's where I'm at home.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (48:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
Flannel feels good on....
Speaker 6 (48:44):
On me.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Flannel feels good on a naked man's body.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
You ever see... And if I know TD, he was wearing...
You ever see the movie Gladiator TD?
Speaker 4 (48:53):
No.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
What was that? You were Donald ducking it with that flannel,
weren't you? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I just wanted to
test it out.
Speaker 5 (49:00):
You know, got out of the shower, toweled off, walked
into the closet, put it on.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
This would be fun, but not today, flannel. Not today.
Put it back on the hanger.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
All right.
Speaker 6 (49:13):
So at the start of fall, what you're going to see,
train your eyes to Instagram and other social medias, the algorithm.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Is going to start feeding you.
Speaker 6 (49:23):
The standard women of Instagram pictures and photo collages. Which
typically include things like gourds in open hands.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
There you go. Things like that. Candles. Oh, candles. A
good wicker basket.
Speaker 6 (49:39):
Ooh, nice. Ooh.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
Anything wicker.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
Everything wicker.
Speaker 5 (49:42):
Or maybe a mug with, if they can capture the
steam of the hot cocoa coming out.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
With some little marshmallows on top. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
And the mug says something fall-like.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
Oh, right.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
Like, tis the season.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Whatever. Whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
Or fall, y'all.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Or like... like boutique or something but it's b-o-o.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
Oh yeah oh i like oh bougie what is the
men's equivalent of the white woman's instagram yeah let's start
listing some of our uh you know little fall items
that's next so if uh if instead of like the
standard women's fall preview instagram posts What would, like, the
(50:24):
guy's version of that look like come the fall?
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Like, what would be.
Speaker 6 (50:30):
What would be like, because, you know, the Bo Burnham song,
it's a white woman's Instagram.
Speaker 5 (50:39):
That was so viral that September 1st is now white
women's Instagram day.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
It's hysterical.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
If you haven't seen it, it is a genius work
of art. It really is. One specific song. You can
watch the video on YouTube.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
He's a genius. It's him in.
Speaker 6 (50:56):
fields of wheat it's him wearing mittens it's him holding
a coffee cup with two hands the little dandelions over
his eyes poking fun at all the things that my
wife enjoys.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Seriously that's what made it funny you hit the nail.
Speaker 6 (51:11):
On the head somebody else throwing leaves up above you
and then you posing as the leaves are falling.
Speaker 5 (51:17):
We have a family photo of us doing that it's
awful awful I mean I love it So what's the
male equivalent of that?
Speaker 1 (51:29):
Yeah, is it Jimbrow stuff? Is it like for fall? Yeah,
I guess it would be more.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
It's football and morning beers, man. It's morning beers. Morning beers? Yeah,
that 9 a.m. Coors Light during the Sunday football slate.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
How about a fish, like holding a fish you're proud of?
Speaker 2 (51:46):
100% that. You took out of the lake. 100% that.
Speaker 5 (51:50):
It's the smoker, the Traeger, something you've thrown on it.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
Carhartt season?
Speaker 9 (51:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
Carhartt season. Yeah, absolutely. Even the men in San Diego
where it doesn't get lower than 60 degrees. We all
have a negative degree coated 32 ounce, like a big
Carhartt jacket.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
But the photo's just up close.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
You just see buttons and part of a logo.
Speaker 6 (52:10):
How about just like almost like the steam rising off
of the golf course.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
In the morning? That's real nice.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:19):
A real low shot, though, so you see blades of grass. Oh, man.
And then the caption is just like, needed this. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
Or just hashtag the boys.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Right, right.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Boys day. Boys day.
Speaker 5 (52:35):
I would say a picture of just a random American flag.
Speaker 9 (52:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (52:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
I like that a lot. Especially around Labor Day.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (52:44):
How about like a dark whiskey next to a glass,
a dark cigar next to a glass of whiskey?
Speaker 1 (52:51):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (52:51):
Yep, that's there for sure. That makes sense to me.
Or maybe you're at one of the breweries here in town,
so you just have a craft IPA.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
You see the condensation coming down the side. Yes.
Speaker 6 (53:03):
Guys, fall Instagram sounds way cooler, but I'm also a guy.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Ooh, campfire picture.
Speaker 4 (53:09):
That's nice.
Speaker 6 (53:09):
This campfire picture, all you just see is other boots around.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
And it's pretty dark, so you barely see the boots,
and the fire is very, very bright.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
Now, part of the white women's Instagram thing is they're
doing things that they don't usually do, so what if
it was just a picture of me, like, looking off
into the distance, holding onto a guitar? Like, I don't
play guitar, but Instagram doesn't care. No, I think that's good.
I think that's good.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
On the tailgate would really amp it up, because you
do want to have some truck pics.
Speaker 9 (53:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (53:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Yeah, any picture of your truck.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
Right, right.
Speaker 6 (53:42):
And it's got to be a truck. You can't take, yeah,
I mean like a small SUV.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
That would be lame.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
Yeah, Rich, get a truck. We've been telling you for
years now. Let's say Fletch goes and gets new tires.
He takes a picture of those new tires, and it's
just captioned, new shoes. Don't we need to do that soon?
Isn't California going to stop us from buying tires? That's
in a couple years. Okay, so we got some time.
We got some time. And you're going to have to
get them from Arizona.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
Yeah, you're not going to be able to get them
retreads anymore, man.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
You're going to have to get them. Can you imagine
my truck with little wimpy tires on it? Changes the
whole thing.
Speaker 5 (54:16):
I don't know what it's going to shake out as,
but yeah, it looks strange. So you got to get
your Instagram photos now.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
Oh, a dog? We got to get a picture of
a dog.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Oh, a picture of a dog.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
Oh, a mountain cabin. A mountain cabin in the snow.
You know what I mean? Yep, yep, yep. This all sounds... Awesome.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
This is the right way to do it.
Speaker 6 (54:37):
Really?
Speaker 1 (54:38):
This is the right way to do it.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Honestly. Yeah. The ladies have it all wrong.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
They really do.
Speaker 6 (54:43):
Well, you know what we should probably do is put
together an Instagram account just collecting all the coolest things
about being a dude.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Bow and arrows?
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Being a dude guy.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
I don't go bow hunting. Just random?
Speaker 4 (54:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
I don't hate it. I don't hate it at all.
It's America, man.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
As long as you're wearing a quiver.
Speaker 6 (55:02):
A Nevada woman was left bloodied after being mauled by
an otter while swimming in Lake Tahoe.
Speaker 5 (55:11):
She says that the weasel-like creature was ruthless, and that's
in quotes in The Vicious Attack. The Reno swimming instructor,
her name was Lynette Bellen, 51 years old.
Speaker 6 (55:21):
She needed.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
38 stitches after being attacked in open water. She said
that she was trying to fight him off, but he
was relentless in its attack towards her.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
I watched this interview, actually, and she said it basically
started at her toes. And the otter was just attacking
her feet while she was trying to swim away. And
then once she got on land, the otter didn't stop.
If you see her face, it's all gashed up. It's awful. Yeah,
it's terrible. I can't help but think it was her fault. Like,
otters don't do anything. That's what I thought. What did
she say to this otter?
Speaker 4 (55:50):
I know.
Speaker 2 (55:51):
Otters are perfect, and they're the most adorable little creatures.
Also found out... There's otters in Lake Tahoe?
Speaker 8 (55:57):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
Also, are you allowed to swim in Lake Tahoe?
Speaker 4 (56:00):
Yeah, dude.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
I thought you weren't allowed to touch the water.
Speaker 8 (56:02):
Oh, no.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
You're allowed in there.
Speaker 6 (56:03):
Oh, yeah. That's probably the lake I've swam the most
in my life. People set up on the beaches down there.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
This needs to be a movie. Like, do you remember
the movie Lake Placid? Oh. With the shark that got stuck.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
In the New York lake?
Speaker 7 (56:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (56:19):
This needs to be like Tahoe Terror or something.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
They got to make a movie.
Speaker 2 (56:25):
Or like there was a cocaine bear. We could do
cocaine otter. Do you think this otter was on cocaine?
They had to be out of its mind. They're sweet
and cuddly. Almost all otters are on cocaine, dude. Yeah,
don't you know that? Especially in the Tahoe water. That
used to be the dumping grounds for the mob.
Speaker 6 (56:39):
Just Nevada in general. Nevada otters especially.
Speaker 9 (56:42):
Hi.
Speaker 5 (56:43):
Everyone knows that. Well known. Waymo officially launches driverless rides
today in San Diego. They'll start accepting new riders on
a rolling basis. That's according to a Waymo spokesperson, Annie Smith.
She says if you want to get in line, you
need to install the Waymo app, which.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Pretty self-explanatory, to be quite honest. I had the app
installed and ready to go, but now I need an
invite code because they're only letting certain people do it?
It doesn't say that. It doesn't say that at all.
On the app, it says I need an invite code.
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (57:15):
It says the starting service area will be 50 square
miles stretching from the beach to the 15 covering Mission
Bay and downtown, but not much north of the 8th.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
So cars.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
Oh, it says cars that also won't be going to
the airport or drive on highways right away. But those
services will be coming soon in a few months. Amazon's Zoox,
which I thought was Zoo X, also started.
Speaker 2 (57:39):
Testing today in San Diego. Zoox are cool. I've been
in one of those in Vegas. What a dumb name.
Speaker 6 (57:44):
You're going to see a lot of these on the road.
You're already seeing a lot of them on the road.
I've probably passed by a dozen Waymos already.
Speaker 8 (57:51):
No, really?
Speaker 1 (57:51):
It's going to get even more busy.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
But we didn't get the cool Waymos. We didn't get Jaguars.
Speaker 6 (57:56):
You know, they say the core advantages of these are, like,
the complete privacy, the predictable driving behavior, the fact that
you don't have to tip the robot driver anymore. They
also say they're cleaner, like the consistency of the cleanliness
inside of the cab of the Waymo. I think that's
more related to the fact that you don't have to
put up with whatever filth is happening in the front seat. Right, right.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
Like a robot driver.
Speaker 6 (58:20):
Doesn't fart on you while you're going to the airport
at 530 in the morning.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
How often are you getting farted on by Uber and
Lyft drivers?
Speaker 6 (58:26):
Have you ever been in an Uber or Lyft where
the driver did let one crack?
Speaker 2 (58:30):
No, I've been in them where the driver stinks.
Speaker 8 (58:33):
Oh, dude.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
I haven't witnessed a fart.
Speaker 6 (58:34):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
Oh my gosh i did have an uber driver one
time get we were stopped at the you know the
train tracks when you're going downtown to the airport yeah
we were stopped at the train tracks and the uber
driver got out because he was like this is an
emergency got out and went beat on the building down
the street i traveled a lot on my we got
our money back for that right like for sports related
broadcast so i'm going places on my own a lot
(58:56):
and so i uber and lyft a lot and i've
been in some Like there are certain drivers who it's
their own personal car. Obviously, it's not just a business car,
but man, you're like there was one time I got
into the backseat.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
Of a lady's Uber and I had to sit in
between the car seats in order.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
To get where we're going. That's insane. Yeah, absolutely insane.
Speaker 5 (59:20):
There was an Uber I took one time that every
cup holder, every cup holder had a burning candle in it.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
I lit candle. It was crazy.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
That's how you know you're about to be a human sacrifice.
Speaker 2 (59:33):
Well, I made it home. Shocker.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
Your soul might not have.
Speaker 2 (59:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (59:39):
We have a major surprise giveaway. We tipped you off
earlier this morning, but it's time. We must do this.
very shortly. If you want to go see the Padres
versus the Yankees at Petco park, well.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
We got tickets for you coming up.
Speaker 6 (59:55):
The next time you hear our voices right here on
one-on-one five KGB, but here's the Scorpions.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Good morning, San Diego. It's big, rich TD and Fletch.
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
It's Just the Tip with Big Rich.
Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Some people say, Rich, you're crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
You're crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
Crazy like a fox. It's Just the Tips with Big Rich.
A little advice I like to shove out your way.
You can shove it back this way if you don't
like it. No harm, no foul.
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Just the Tip with today.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
The advice, it's chopsticks.
Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Chopsticks? Like the song? Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Speaker 6 (01:00:29):
No dude not like the song It's cool though Like
in big I always wanted to try it I thought
the floor piano Would be much cooler in real life
than it was I know.
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
I tried it at FAO Swartz One time.
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
Just to do the slide thing Yep Didn't work But
chopsticks dude You gotta keep some in your glove box
And here's why I made a strange And wonderful discovery
recently I go.
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
To In-N-Out Burger.
Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
Okay. All right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
So follow me here. The boys want, you know, Ty
is like, oh, I want a hamburger. I'm like, you
got it, buddy. And a vanilla shake.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:01:11):
Bash, what about you? I want fries and a vanilla shake.
You got it, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
And then I'm like, what does dad want? Dad just,
I didn't feel like a burger. You know what I wanted?
I wanted animal fries. I wanted, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Messy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
So yeah, they come with the cheese.
Speaker 6 (01:01:26):
They come with the animal sauce and I get the
fries obviously well done. So they spent a little extra
time in the fryer anyways. So they serve it up
and it comes in the little clamshell box. Super excited
about it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
Open it up. Realize I don't have a fork. I
don't have a spoon.
Speaker 6 (01:01:39):
I don't have any sort of like you know, utensil
that I can eat with. So I dig into my
center console And I'm looking for a fork, a stray
fork somewhere, you know, one in the clear plastic.
Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
I find chopsticks. I'm like, oh my gosh, those will work.
This is actually great.
Speaker 6 (01:01:56):
Dude, I bust them open and I'm sitting there chopsticking
animal fries. And I'm like, oh, this is what chopsticks
are supposed to be for. We've been misusing them for sushi.
They're for animal fries. Animal style fries at In-N-Out Burger.
Why isn't the tip just to keep a fork in
the car?
Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Honestly, the fork doesn't work that great for animal fries.
Chopsticks are better. A fork works better than chopsticks on everything.
That's not true.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
No, they slide off.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
You just don't know how.
Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
To use chopsticks.
Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
I don't ever use chopsticks. Self-conscious over there. I'll throw
that right in the trash. There's no reason for that.
Speaker 6 (01:02:32):
No, no, no.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
If you fork an animal fry, sometimes you're getting too
much of the sauce. Sometimes you're getting too much fry.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
You're not getting the right combination.
Speaker 6 (01:02:38):
Also, you're ordering your animal fries wrong if forks work
with your animal fries.
Speaker 8 (01:02:41):
I know.
Speaker 6 (01:02:41):
I don't ever order animal fries. I order animal fries
well done. If you try to stab a fork into
well done fries, you know exactly what happens.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
It breaks. The tines, they split and they get stuck
in between.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
Get a metal fork.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
I also only order the fries light. I'm not bringing
a metal. You're a sicko. You're a bad man. I
don't like them crispy like that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
That's gross.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
I like them soggy.
Speaker 6 (01:03:03):
By the way, In-N-Out Burger, kind of awful fries.
Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
Unless they're well done.
Speaker 7 (01:03:08):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
I agree. I agree.
Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
And you've got about 45 seconds to get those fries down.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
What if they're real good?
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Now, if you get them light fried, you are a sociopath.
Speaker 6 (01:03:18):
I really think that there's something we need to examine
about you. Sometimes I don't even order the fries. And
I don't blame you for that. They're not great fries.
But when you get them animal style, chopsticks are literally
made for the job.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
They are absolutely fantastic. Was it the wooden ones that
you get from the... Oh, yeah. I can't imagine even those...
Touching my lips. Why? The feeling of it gives me
the creepies, the heebie-jeebies. We're going to win. We're going
to win.
Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
We're going to win.
Speaker 6 (01:03:45):
We're going to win it all. Oh, you said it, Kwanzaa.
And guess what? You're going to win. You're going to win.
Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
You're going to win Padres tickets. We're going to win.
We're going to win it all.
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Oh, say it again. I'll have what she's having.
Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
They got the Yankees this weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:04:01):
They're coming to town, and you're going to see one
of these games. All you got to do is call
this number, 888-570-1015 at 945.
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
945.
Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
You got a minute, and then you call that number.
If you're caller 10, you're going to win them all.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
We're going to win.
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
The whole pair. We're going to win. We're going to win.
Speaker 6 (01:04:19):
Win it all.
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
We had... Way too much fun today. Tons of giveaways.
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
Congrats to our winner of the Frontwave Credit Union Tool
of the Week $ 100 gift card to Ace Hardware.
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
Up in Oceanside.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
That was Kelly, I think.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Yeah, Kelly.
Speaker 6 (01:04:39):
She told a good story there. Also, we are going
to do that again next Tuesday. We have those Padres
tickets up for grabs.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Tomorrow along with those Motley Crue tickets.
Speaker 8 (01:04:49):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:04:50):
And Motley Crue, two more pairs available on Clint August's
show later in the station day.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
And will Cat return?
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
We'll find out.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Hiking, biking, Big Rich TD and Fletch out.
Speaker 8 (01:05:24):
Bye, Mom.
Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Bye.
Speaker 8 (01:05:26):
See you later.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
I'll pick you up at a quarter to three. Okay, bye.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Aww.
