Speaker 1 (00:00):
So my boss, he was talking to me about how
many sick days I've taken.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
And I was like, you know, don't go there, you know.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
But he kept on about wanting to see some kind
of a doctor's note or something.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And I said, look, I'm seriously serious. You don't want
to go there.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
But he kept talking and talking, being such a nag.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
And then I just blacked out. I blacked out. And
when I woke up, I was standing over him and
I was screaming, I told you not to go there.
I told you not to go there.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Is Cat feeling better? You'll soon find out. Did Rich
make a return?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Oh, did he black out?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
The TV fix his dryer that was on the fritz.
How's Fletch's secret project?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Is he calling it quits?
Speaker 3 (00:54):
It's been decided the guys need that Kentucky waterfall. Don't
tell Fletch his is just a skullet, cause it'll.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Make him feel.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Small cat's got AC, but it only cools her house
to about 85. Pass on her mushroom risotto. You may
not survive. In other news, can anyone tell me? What
happened to the girl who sang Call Me Maybe? She
(01:33):
reminded me of a little elf From Lord of the
Rings Or one you'd put on a shelf Let's jump
in and get this going Who's here today? There's no
way of knowing If you call me man, first call
(01:54):
me bat.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Hey, look, it's Big Rich TD. Fletch and Cash.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Guess what today is?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
It's hump day.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
What?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
What?
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Happy Wednesday to those who celebrate and happy hump day
to all. It's Big Rich TD and Fletch on this
beautiful Wednesday. Now, we are a full cast of characters assembled,
but I would say it's three and a half men.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Because, Kat, you are putting on the show to not
go to a work event.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, you really do not want to go to this
sales slash programming Padres game today.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
No, I don't. Well, I did want to go, but
I don't feel 100% or maybe even 80%.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
I would say 50% is where I have you. So
the three of us, we are engines revved. I mean,
look at us full red blooded American man, just.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Ready for action.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
As long as it does not include physical activity, everything
you throw at us, we will be able to handle. Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Do you want to, the three of you want to
go in my place to the Padres game? My headphones
cut out there for a minute.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I think it's a one o'clock game.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I'm not programmed. I have COVID-26. I don't have COVID.
I went to the walk-in yesterday. I got tested for
the flu. for COVID and for stress. Oh, excellent.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
And everything was negative. But me and TD went there
and we have tuberculosis.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, how about that, huh?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
They mentioned TB to me and I was like, I'm
pretty sure I don't have TB.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Yeah, we walked out of there like Civil War soldiers
coughing into a rag.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
And they said, yeah, they have consumption. They should be
gone in three to seven days.
Speaker 6 (03:56):
The tuberculosis shot is bizarre because you end up with
like a pill in your arm for three or four days.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Oh, yeah, yeah. They put the little prick needle.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
It's weird, man.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Oh, the TB test.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
The TB test.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
And then they ask if you've been out of the
country or around chickens or something. I've been around chickens
my whole life. Yeah, I can answer yes to one
of those. Chickens. Breasts, nuggets, thighs, tenders. All chickens.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Well, so to answer your question, Kat, we can't go.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Because nobody wants tuberculosis. You ever get the chicken McNuggets
and look at the shape of them?
Speaker 5 (04:37):
They are not quite ovals. They kind of look like eggs. Yeah,
one looks like an egg and the other looks like.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Almost a foot.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
So I'm assuming one is supposed to represent dark meat
and the other white meat?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I used to like the ones that had the little
end to it. Like it almost looked like a boot.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
That used to be my favorite chicken nugget. I didn't
even think of this. The McNuggets have stamps there.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
So they're just stamping the ovular ones and then the
foot-shaped ones. But is one supposed to look like an
egg or a boob? You'll have your answer coming up next. Well,
we have an answer to the question and it's actually shocking.
But I typed into Google's AI model. How many different
(05:22):
mold shapes are there for the Chicken McNugget, and why
are they different shapes? McDonald's McChicken Nuggets comes in four
different shapes, as it turns out.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I can only think of two. What are the shapes
they're supposed to be? So, the shapes have names. This
is shocking also. Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
The ball, the boot, the bell, and the... Bone, also
referred to as the bow tie. Okay, okay. I don't
think that the bow tie or the bell exists anymore.
Not at a McDonald's I've been to lately.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
So the reasons for the shapes are they're shaped this
way because of consistent cooking.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
All four shapes.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
have a standardized size and similar surface area. This ensures
that they cook evenly and maintain strict food safety standards
across all restaurants globally.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Why wouldn't they just make them all boots? That's a
good point.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
I guess so that there's variety when you look at it,
because not every piece of chicken that you eat that's
not manufactured to the nth degree is the same shape,
so they're trying to replicate that in the McNugget science.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Fun dipping. So check this out.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
McDonald's designed these distinct forms to be fun for children
and adults. They strike the perfect equilibrium of dippability and fun.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I do find, back when I used to eat chicken nuggets,
I did find dipping the boot to be fun. Okay, interesting.
Just specifically the boot. That was my favorite one. I
like that McDonald's said we need different shapes.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Carl's Jr.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Nah, stars. All of them.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, they do not care. They're like, and guess what?
Speaker 5 (06:59):
You put them for a second too long in that
frying oil, you're going to have some burnt feet on them, starfish.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
They're hard, man. Real hard. The Goldilocks number.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
So according to the company, the four shapes were chosen
because three would have been too few and five would
have been way too many.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah. This all makes sense.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
This is a crazy amount of thought put into.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
These three guys.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm sure they have like test groups. This is great.
Speaker 7 (07:23):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
And then the manufacturing process. So ground chicken meat. We
don't want to talk about that. It's pressed out using.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
I've seen that documentary. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Right, right.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
It took me almost 24 hours to not eat another one.
Speaker 7 (07:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
So apparently they, they lay the ground chicken meat in,
in a long, like almost like Matt shaped, uh, off
a roller. And then the stamps come down and it
knocks out all of the shapes and then all of
the leftover in between the cuts.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Kind of gets thrown back into the hopper and it
comes back through once again.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Pretty cool. It's pretty cool. It's like they're going like
a pastry bag.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
They're just a goo. Oh, that's right. Oh, yeah. But
they're delicious.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
They are very good and we're big fans. Man, I.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I could use some right now. Absolutely correct.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Wash down those chicken McNuggets with maybe a little soda
or maybe a little water. We've got some taste testing
to do later in the show.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
We'll explain all that. But before we get to water,
we've got to get to the flood zone. It's going
to be a humid one, and it's next.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Ladies and gentlemen, the Secret Project has officially hit a
snag because he discovered his new couch and is apparently...
capable of rendering a grown man unconscious in three.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Hours' time.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Productivity is down, naps are up, and whatever was supposed
to be building is now shrouded in mystery. But between
REM cycles, he's found time to conduct a completely normal
amount of online reconnaissance on the new Padre's owner. So
close your eyes, close your laptop, fluff the pillows, and
(09:00):
clear the browser history.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
This....
Speaker 1 (09:05):
The Fletch Talk!
Speaker 6 (09:07):
We're Fletch Talk Sports. Speaking of the Padres' new owner,
hang on just a couple minutes. We got some juicy
details coming up.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
All right, all right.
Speaker 6 (09:14):
All right, Leah Shetkever is not a name you've heard
of before, but she has done it again. She's from
the United Kingdom, and she has reclaimed the Guinness World
Record for.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
fastest burrito eating time. I watched this.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
She finished a 1.35 pound burrito, which is the standard
weight for the record.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Congratulations to Leah on this stunning achievement. This is a
unisex achievement.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Men can win this too.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
How long did it take her? It took her 32
point something seconds.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
30 seconds? I have it somewhere.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
She eats a burrito like my golden doodle. One bite, swallow.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
One bite, swallow.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
It's amazing what she's able to do. It's 30.75 seconds.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
It's insane to watch. Insane.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Did you guys all watch it? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Except for Judy and I watched it yesterday. I watched
it yesterday as well. Kat was actually in the room
while it was on, but she didn't watch it.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I saw part of it. I've never been more.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
You know how sometimes you see a magic trick and
your brain goes, I know it's a trick. what is
the trick because the corridor's gone that's exactly how i
felt watching her eat a burrito i was.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Like an entire mouthful of food into her mouth and
then it disappeared it just immediately takes another bite you.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Don't even watch her like her neck's not really moving
that much so i'm like where does it go it
looks like you made an ai video of someone eating
a burrito correct because it's.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
It's like doesn't quite look right it's impressive.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
It's impressive congratulations leo we're all we'd love to have
you on the show anytime absolutely All right, I've taken
it upon myself to force AI to simulate the entire
2026 NFL season and the playoffs to give me the
eventual playoff bracket and eventual Super Bowl champions.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
The question leaves TD. Is AI maddened football?
Speaker 6 (10:55):
No, AI is just Chad GPT's thoughts and feelings about
how this NFL season is going to go. Now, I'll
tell you, the reason I did this was because of
the Del Mar horse races over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
AI turned $ 100 into $ 200 for me.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
Incredible. So AI started to get good at this whole
prediction thing. Now, here's what AI spit out. In the AFC,
the Patriots, Chargers, Jags, Broncos, Bills, Steelers, Ravens, Texans, and
Chiefs make the postseason phenomenal. the chiefs of the team
who advances to the eventual super bowl.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
Interestingly enough, the Patriots were the one seed, which I
don't think a whole lot of people outside of rich
Ornberger think is going to happen.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
I think they're pretty good in the NFC.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
The Rams are the one seed, the Vikings bucks, commanders, Eagles, Packers, lions, Seahawks,
and Niners all make it to the playoffs. The Rams
are the team who make it to the super.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Okay. So chiefs Rams in the super bowl and the
final score is 27, 24. The Kansas City Chiefs won
the Super Bowl. What? According to AI. Okay.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I could see it. I could see it, by the way.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
And I also think if we took a closer look
at the bracket that it built, I bet you there's
a couple of really strange teams that have caught on
at the bottom of the wild card.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
And some teams you expected to be there that are
knocked out.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Because what AI does better than anything, I mean, I
guess outside of human brains, is it gets smart to
the fact that, okay, statistically, not all the teams that
made it last year can be back.
Speaker 6 (12:17):
Right, like it has the Steelers in it this year,
which is a little bizarre. Nobody really thinks the Steelers
are making the postseason.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Another team that, again, I think because of Mike McCarthy
going back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers' final season,
it really feels like the last kiss goodbye.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
And that defense, they still have a really, really good
defensive line.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
I think they could sneak into the postseason, but.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Man, AI is going to take all of our jobs eventually.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Well, I'm curious.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
Like, should we put money on this? Because if we do,
we can make a lot of money right now. Actually,
if we put Chiefs, Rams, Super Bowl, final score 27-24,
and that actually ends up happening, we're rich.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
That's a good point.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
That's a good point.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Kat, do you got 20 bucks on you?
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cool.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Let's do it. Kat seems just drowsy enough for us
to take all of her money.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
We're all in.
Speaker 6 (13:01):
Finally, open up your phones, please, and head over to
Kwanzaa Jones' Instagram account.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
She is Kwanzaa? K-W-A-N-Z-A.
Speaker 5 (13:09):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Just the rest. All right.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
Kwanzaa Jones, along with her husband, Jose E. Feliciano, have
purchased the San Diego Padres. They've taken over ownership, and
they're there. And I was at a game that they
were at, and they were cheering to the whole crowd.
It's a whole thing. Kwanzaa Jones, I think it may
be her second post down, posted a picture of the sidewalk.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Now there's blue paint. There is yellow paint on the sidewalk.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
And in her caption, she says, sometimes it's a matter
of perspective. Mindset always matters. Some people see a sidewalk.
I stopped because I see so much more color, texture, composition.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Possibility.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Key in on that word possibility.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
Then Shimo goes on to say, I've always moved through
the world in this way, intensely curious.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
It's not always about what's there. It's about what else
could be there. Okay.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
Here's to seeing differently, lightning bolt emoji. Those are Charger's colors.
Does it not kind of look like a Charger's helmet
with a lightning bolt emoji? In a lightning bolt emoji,
is Kwanzaa Jones trying to tell us that she and
Jose E. Feliciano are trying to bring the Chargers back
to San Diego?
Speaker 2 (14:09):
If they do, I would listen to all of her music.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Same.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
If they do this, they are the greatest people in
San Diego history.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
I would say.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
What if, and I'm just throwing it out there, Chargers
are in L.A., She takes her now new team to
Los Angeles where the charges are. Shut your mouth.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I'm just saying. Shut your mouth. Check this out.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Stan Kroenke right now has Dean Spanos renting from him
for like a dollar a year at SoFi Stadium, and
he's pissed about it. Imagine if Kwanzaa Jones and Jose
Feliciano not only will pay $ 2 for rent per year,
but To Stan Kroenke, but also they'll move the Padres
(14:51):
in with.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
The Angels in the newly rebuilt Angel Stadium.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
So it'll be the.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
San Diego Padres of Anaheim of the greater Los Angeles area.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
And it'll be.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
And then Jose.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Oh my gosh, can you imagine? You guys just took
something very hopeful and exciting.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
When Justin Herbert's running onto the field and you hear,
the electricity, the electricity of the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Here's the issue is that there's not even- That's Quince Jones'
newest track, Electricity. There's not even a stadium in San
Diego big enough for an NFL team.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Correct, but there is room. There is room in Chula
Vista by the Gaylord Pacific. Wait, you know where else
there's room? At the 52.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
And the 15.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Going up north?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Right near the, there's tons of land. There's nothing there.
There's literally nothing. Now, it may be military land, but.
That's a good point.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
So, we do know that there is lots of room,
and it has been looked at before, and it is
actually zoned for an NFL-sized stadium down in Chula Vista.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Really?
Speaker 2 (15:52):
If Kwanzaa Jones brings back the Chargers. We're building a statue.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
That's what's happening. She is the greatest San Diegan. Yeah.
If that happens. Without a doubt.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
We're going to win. We're going to win. We're going
to win it all.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
We're going to win it all. All right.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
Speaking of artificial intelligence and great, great job, Fletch, I
think that is really fascinating. I'm curious to see where
the storyline goes. He'll cover sports every morning for us
in the Fletch Zone. But speaking of AI, just a
tip with Big Rich, how to make even more money
with artificial intelligence.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Just a tip with big rich.
Speaker 8 (16:29):
Uh yes it is just a little advice i like
to slide out your way it's yours for the taking
if you want it if not push it back this
way no harm no foul it's just a tip with
big rich and today's advice it circles around everything that
fletch was talking about in the fletch zone story too
which is about artificial intelligence.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Now, he simulated an.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Entirety of a football season, and he got some playoff results.
He got the championship round, which is going to be
played between the Rams.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
And the Chiefs, and he said Chiefs win 27-24?
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yep. Okay. That's what AI said, not me. I would
hate that Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Now, don't get me wrong.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
I think it would probably be an exciting season if
it ends up being one of the teams who would
have to have a huge bounce back on the AFC side,
an NFC team that has built up the best roster
money can buy in today's NFL.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
It would be fascinating. However.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
The reason why I'm not balking at the opportunity or
really I am balking at the opportunity to make fun
of AI is because of how good it has been
when I ask it for betting advice specifically around football.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
So check this out.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
I've been telling everybody, but literally at the Del Mar racetracks,
it was 10 minutes before first post. I said, hey,
make my entire betting schedule for today.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
I have $ 100.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
It showed me everything to do in the exact verbiage
to tell the people at the.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Counter that $ 100 is now $ 200.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Wow. And it was all AI. I did not variate
off the path at all. So what it does is
because it's a large language model, it can literally... go
through every single relevant piece of literature that's posted to
the internet, including social media and decipher whether it's valuable
or not.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
In fractions of seconds.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Whereas we would have to spend days, hours, months, time
that you don't have in between NFL scheduled games or.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
College football games.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
So anyways, I've been asking it like one at a
time to give me the best bet that around a
specific game and around a specific prop line, which means
like whether or not a running back is going to
have higher or lower on their rushing yardage or quarterback
higher or lower on passing yardage.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
It's taking every number it can find, crunching all of
them and then saying, hey, for your money, you're going
to make the most back with this one and you
have the best possibility of doing it.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
And so the way you prompt it is you say,
I want you to take the deepest dive you.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Can possibly take.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
And so.
(19:19):
I'm doing it right now for tonight's game. I'll let
you know what I get. Yeah, and it'll scour the internet.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
It'll find every available piece of data. And if you
don't give it a time restriction, if you don't say, hey,
get this back to me quickly, it will really.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Take its time.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Wow. And it's been hitting, I'm not kidding, at something
like a 65% rate on these.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
Maybe better than that. For weeks. It's kind of mind-blowing.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
For weeks.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Maybe months. You've been saying.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
don't trust the computer.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
And now that football. season's here, you're saying, give it
access to your financials.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Well, hang on.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Hang on.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
So, yes, that is what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
You can do, by the way, with some of the
new AI, you can give it access to your computer,
and it can go into your banking app and control your.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
401k. I would suggest you do that.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
It's making people tons of money. I would say there's
nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Honestly, if you just open it up to an open network,
what could possibly go wrong? Trust the machine.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
I also have reached out to AI on numerous occasions
to be like, Hey, Remember this banking password for me.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
And I'd be like, no.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Problem, Rich.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
I got you covered. Don't ever do anything fishy with that.
And it's listening to me like, I would never. And
I trust it. This guy named Jacob Coxon, he's an
anthropic AI researcher who just quit anthropic. He went public
last night and then tweeted out, the people building AI
earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the
(20:51):
end of the decade.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Okay, so check this out. I saw this tweet. By
the end of the day? Decades. That's four years. But
by the way, yeah, the decade's almost over.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
Let's read Jacob's entire Twitter thread because it is alarming.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
We'll do it next. All right, so check this out.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
Jacob Coxon is an AI researcher, and he tweets this.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I resigned from Anthropic today.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
I spent the last three years doing pre-training research at
both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. These
are both AI companies, by the way. OpenAI is responsible
for ChatGPT. Anthropic responsible for Claude. Those are open to
the market to use. They're racing straight to self-improving superintelligence
(21:39):
and gambling with all of our lives.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
More thoughts below.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
So he goes on this long thread that says, do
not underestimate the power of this technology. These will soon
be superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field
overnight and acquire real power and resources. We've all witnessed
the progress in each of these domains, and the progress
is not slowing. The people building AI earnestly believe that
(22:04):
it could kill us by the end of the decade.
That means in four years or three and a half years, really.
This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives
and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in press sounding reasonable.
But I hear the same people express fear privately. No
other human activity poses this level of danger. A common
(22:25):
response is, if they truly believe this, why are they
even still building it?
Speaker 2 (22:31):
At OpenAI, many.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
Have not deeply internalized the civilizational stakes. At Anthropic, the
stakes are well understood, but they are locked in a
race to get there first. They believe that no one
else will act responsibly, so they must do it themselves
despite the risk. Accepting this race and entering this quote-unquote
endgame is hubristic... It's a gamble, and it should not
(22:56):
be launched from a private company's slack.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Attempting to speedrun.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Alignment should require extraordinary confidence, and there are no better
trajectories available. I am optimistic about the potential for coordination.
Warning shots like the hugging face attack have made the
pacing agreements between U.S.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Labs more viable.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
I don't feel like we're on track to prevent a
global race, which may require costly actions such as temporary
ban on improving model capabilities. If you're a lab researcher,
I urge you to consider the next few years and
what they'll actually feel like.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Shut up, science nerd.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
Do you want to kick off super intelligence RL run
without a rigorous understanding of its mind? Should you put
your head down because it's quote unquote not happening anyway
or take this moment to call for different conditions?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
So this guy leaves Anthropic and then starts tweeting about
how Anthropic or AI itself is going to kill everyone
on Earth, which kind of feels to me like He's
kind of mad that he was either let go or
was going to be let go. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
He said that he left.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Well, okay. So check it out.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
How many people do you know that left? Yeah, right.
Some of these.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
AI researchers are literally programming themselves out of jobs.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
And they don't realize it while they're doing it.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
But as the AI models are self-improving, you have less
need for human resources. And so that's probably part of
the reason why Jacob Coxon said, is now tweeting instead
of working for OpenAI.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Now, apparently this Anthropic Alignment Science lead, a person who
still works at Anthropic, his name is Evan Hubinger. Said,
Jacob is correct here. We really do earnestly believe AI
could kill all humans. I personally think it's greater than 10%
within the next decade. Samuel Marks, Anthropic Scalable Oversight Lead,
(24:44):
also said, AI developers believe their technology could cause human
extinction or similar bad outcomes. I mean, people are agreeing
with him who do work at Anthropic. No, and I'm
with you. I have a theory about all of this.
I'll unveil it after you two next. Okay, so who
is Jacob Coxon and who is Evan Hubinger?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Nerds. Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
So Jacob Coxon is a former OpenAI employee, former Anthropic
employee who started tweeting yesterday and already has amassed over
130,000 followers on Twitter in less than 24 hours. He
announced he was resigning from Anthropic, and he left this
long Twitter thread that we just read on the show.
(25:31):
So listen to our podcast, Big Rich TD and Fletch,
if you don't want to read it yourself. We'll be
posting that after the show. Evan Hubinger backed his stance.
He currently still works for Anthropic. And so that's curious.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
That's curious.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yes. A high-ranking Anthropic employee is backing a gentleman who
just resigned from Anthropic publicly about how AI is going
to kill us all.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
It feels like you'd be fired for doing such a thing.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
But he's not.
Speaker 5 (26:04):
There's been no news that Evan Hubinger has lost his
job with Anthropic.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Well, it just happened. He's losing his job today.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Are you saying there's some collusion?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
What I'm saying is it's not even collusion.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
He literally, Jacob, did in his post say, this is
in some marketing stunt. You know when you know somebody's
lying when they say.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I'm not lying. Or, hey, let me be honest with you.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
It's like, oh, because all the rest of the time
you're talking to me, you've been lying? No, this is
a marketing stunt. So what Anthropic's trying to convince you
of is that OpenAI is irresponsible.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
And they are the ones who need to be federally regulated.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
And federal regulation, if it is done appropriately, can create
a monopoly or an antitrust situation without anybody calling foul.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Wait, this is Coke and Pepsi, but AI. Well, it's
more like Microsoft. It's more like Apple.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
It's more like when you have something so big it
can no longer fail because if it fails— All of.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
The systems fail with it. PlayStation and Xbox.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
They talk smack about each other all the time. That
does sound plausible.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
To me, this is a ploy. Jacob Coxon, by the way,
may not even be a real person. If you look
at his little Twitter picture, he looks AI. Look at that.
No way.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Look at that picture.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
You're telling me that guy has the keys to our future?
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Get out of here.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
All right.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
Yeah, I think it's all a hoax just to make
sure that everybody invests in Anthropic and starts getting away
from ChatGPT because Claude numbers are down.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Forget that. From now on, I'm getting all my AI
from Mexico. Cheaper. Better.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
And his avocados as well.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
They're from Peru. Okay, very good. 101.5 KGB. Trending with TD.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
It's hot outside.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Real hot.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
And doctors and emergency departments across San Diego County are
saying that this relentless two-month stretch of 90 degree plus
heat and high humidity and all these repeated heat advisories
are taking a toll on more than just our bodies.
It's also affecting our minds. Organizers of the county's heat
and human health service organization. Summit at UCSD Health and
(28:14):
San Diego Foundations are saying that hospitals are seeing a
lot more patients with psychiatric conditions as the heat wave
drags on.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Well, yeah, I mean, the heat can drive you crazy.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
I guess. I mean, there's actually yeah, there's a heat related.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
I don't want to say psychosis, but there there there
is some sort of like mental breakdown that people will have.
As a result of the heat, I forget what it's called,
but I mean, it was a lot more prevalent before
air conditioning, obviously.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
You mean heat stroke?
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Well, yeah, you can obviously have. I mean, that'd be
a physical condition.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
This would be a mental condition, which I mean, no bueno,
but you would think cold would do the same thing.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah. You can always put more clothes on, though. You
can always get warmer, but if it's hot.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
And you're hot.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Once you have hypothermia, don't you start getting naked? I
feel like that's a thing, actually.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
There comes a point in hypothermia that sometimes they'll find
people who are stuck on mountains or stuff like that
or go out hiking, I don't know, Kat, in blizzards
on Mount Rainier, for example, who they'll find them naked
because there comes this moment where you have this insane
hot flash.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
And like, you're like, oh, I got to get all
these clothes off.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
And then, so they'll find, they'll find victims of hypothermia
or freezing to death that completely normal.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Interesting yeah the u.s open is happening the 146th edition
of the u.s open happening out in new york city
however it's not what's on the courts that are making
the headlines it's what's in the concession stand a 38
sandwich is now going viral taking over the u.s open
lines at the u.s open are literally hours long. People
(30:03):
waiting to get the sandwich. It's called the... I can't
even see the name on this thing. Something to Frank.
It's a French dip sandwich. Dry-aged prime rib, provolone, caramelized onions,
horseradish on a baguette.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Salt Hanks is the name of it.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
That's the one. That's the one.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
And it's served with au jus and matchstick fries, and
it's $ 38, and they cannot make enough of them. It
looks amazing. Oh, my God. So where exactly is this
place located? It's the U.S.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Opens in New York.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Correct. The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. I think
it's in the Bronx. Oh, my God.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
It looks like they have a couple of standalone stores
in New York that are also incredibly popular, but they're
also selling at the U.S.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
Open.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Ah, so it's like Hodad's.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah, exactly right. Got it. Got it. This sandwich.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Look at this thing.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Oh, my God. Yep. Yep. So what's funny is the
headlines were a $ 38 sandwich at the U.S.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Open.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
They're out of their mind. They should have charged $ 40.
People are literally saying it's worth every dollar.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Well, the U.S. Open is known for having at least
one viral food or beverage during every tournament. I think
last year it was a specific drink.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Everybody was seen.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
With this beverage.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
And all the dudes were stacking the cups up. You
remember that?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
The frat culture at the U.S. Open was being fancied
about last summer.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
They've got the lockdown on the food and bev there.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
You want one more or you want to do a giveaway?
Give me one more quickie.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
One more quickie. NFL season kicks off tonight. And this afternoon,
I guess, is when it truly kicks off. Everybody's still talking.
What is going to happen at the Super Bowl halftime show?
Who's going to be the headliner this year? The odds are.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Jay-Z at 43%.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I saw Miley Cyrus was way up there. She is
now making the surge here. She's coming in like a
wrecking ball. That's right. As of yesterday, she was only
one point behind Jay-Z. She was actually the odds-on betting favorite.
There was so much money being put on Miley Cyrus.
She's now dropped back down to 36%. When is that announced?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Any day now.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Any time now, yeah. Did you know that in third place?
Guess the band. Drake.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
No, Motley Crue. Motley Crue.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
And you could go check out Motley Crue, Tesla, and
Xtreme at North Island Credit Union Amphitheater. That Friday, September
18th show is the one we're talking about. Now, you
can go to Ticketmaster.com for information or tickets, honestly.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Yeah, there he goes. TD is already there.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
So much information here.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
It's so good.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
Or you could call 888-570-1015 at exactly 737 and get
your hands on those tickets yourselves. Be caller number 10
and you're heading to crew. Water, we need it to survive.
It's all around us. It floats in the air as
we speak and breathe. We're exchanging. You know, the water
vapors as you wake up in the morning and you
(32:53):
start your coffee pot. I mean, that's what's being filtered
through the roasted coffee beans that have been ground previously
or currently being ground up for that hot bean water
that we like to enjoy. Water is what we cool
ourselves off with in heat wave conditions like we're experiencing
here in San Diego. whether it be pool or ocean,
(33:13):
and also it's what we drink now mostly out of bottles.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
I have a.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
Feeling in our time we're going to see a lot
of the plastics be dispersed of. I'm sure most companies
will move to aluminum cans as plastic is starting to
get some bad headlines. But I would say the most
important distinction that a lot of people argue would help
us water when it comes to the plastic bottles versus
(33:37):
aluminum can is the taste.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
A lot of people say they can taste the plastic.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Oh, it's the plastic that they say they can taste?
Speaker 5 (33:44):
Now, that's what people say.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Now, I don't know if I necessarily... I feel like
I taste the aluminum way more. Is that true?
Speaker 6 (33:50):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I think it's just the water.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
We'll try to.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Get to the bottom of this.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
We'll try to find out what's the best, at least,
amongst some plastic bottle selections because TD has been kind
enough to rally up I would say, what is that, eight?
Speaker 2 (34:05):
I'm eyeballing it here. Eight different types of water?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
That's correct.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
We have bottles of what brands, TD?
Speaker 2 (34:12):
So with this kickoff on Monday, right?
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Monday. I don't know how it was brought up in
some manner. I think, Kat, you mentioned Dasani. Fletch, you
fired back with Dasani's terrible.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
It's the worst.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Kat then fires back and says Arrowhead is the worst. Yeah,
it is.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
And then you said Arrowhead's the best, Fletch. Second best.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
And then I said Kirkland. And then we all said
Kirkland's great. And then it became a thing.
Speaker 7 (34:33):
So.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
I got some arrowhead number one i got.
Speaker 7 (34:36):
Some kirkland okay aquafina dasani right avion yeah smart water
yeah crystal geyser and fiji okay so if i were
going to and i'm saying this is just eyeballing what
waters you have here i'm a little bougie when.
Speaker 5 (34:53):
It comes to water every time i go to the
airport i either get a big bottle of avion or.
Speaker 6 (34:57):
Fiji okay i do like fiji and i like the
square bottle But here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
I get them because I like the bottles.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
Evian invests in the bottle that has the little mountain ridge.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
I think that's really cool. And also the square bottle
for the Fiji.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
I also like the fact that on the back of
the back panel, it has what looks like ocean water.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
It's lighter at the top, and then it graduates to
a darker.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Deeper blue.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Wow, so you really care about the packaging, Chris.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Oh, 100%.
Speaker 5 (35:23):
And the clear label in front. So you can see
through to that graduated lightness to darkness. I think it's really,
really visually appealing.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
The Avion, the Smart Water, and the Fiji all have
crystal clear bottles. That's correct.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
So it looks like the water is very, very clear.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
And when you look at the other bottles, now don't
get me wrong, Smart Water has its own aesthetic. It's
supposed to look a little bit more athletic. You know
what I mean?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
It's almost shaped like a missile or a bullet.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
You look at some of these other bottles. Kirkland clearly
is going for the discount.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (35:57):
This looks like something that you would find in the
bottom of like underneath a car seat.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
And you go, oh, man, there's still a sip in there.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Aquafina.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
I've always looked at the Aquafina bottle, and I think
they're trying to replicate what the ocean looks like. So
there's like a sand bed down here, and these look
like waves up the top.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
But all of them have their unique shapes and sizes bottle-wise.
Arrowhead has a definite lean to it while it sits on.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
The counter there.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Yeah, that's true, too.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
I wonder if that's done intentionally. I'm not sure. I'm
going to guess not.
Speaker 5 (36:27):
But the bottles are one thing. It's the taste we're after.
So who wins the Great Water debate? We're going to
put this all to test, and we'll find out the ultimate,
ultimate prize. That's coming up later on Big Rich TD
and Fletch. 101.5 KGB. It's Big Rich TD and Fletch.
We are going to rate some waters now. We've waited
(36:49):
long enough.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
I didn't realize that people had such an opinion about water.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
There's no question.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
So we haven't posted anything yet to one, one, five
KGB on Instagram.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
We're already getting DMS. Somebody said, tell Kirk from Kirklandia.
He's an idiot.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Dasani is the best.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Now, I didn't realize that Dasani had as much support
as it does, but TD stated earlier this week that
Dasani's his favorite.
Speaker 6 (37:18):
I don't know why, because Dasani's a Coke product. We
go Kirkland at our house.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
So do I. Then I would say we buy Dasani. Now,
I don't know. I haven't even had some of these
other waters. I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Well, we're going to try all of them. You've given
us four cups so far, TD. You're in control of
the rating system. And I had mentioned that I could
also rate you. Maybe we'll do it later in the
show where I give you the eight cups. I mix
up the waters and I have it written down. In
a secret, what do you call it? Code on my
(37:50):
own side So you can't see it This way we
can have all four But in the meantime, let's just
do Do you not want me to taste the waters?
Don't taste them We'll mix them up later on Okay,
here we go Fletch, Kat, myself Let's all grab cup
number one Let's take a sip Are.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
We doing a swish?
Speaker 6 (38:11):
I feel like you probably gotta do a couple sips
Gotta clear out whatever's in there.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Now And also, write down from 1 to 10 your rating,
10 being the best, 1 being the worst.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Also, write down which one you think it is. Weirdly,
I think I know which one this one is.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Really?
Speaker 1 (38:30):
All right. You guys are really tasting these things. I mean, Fletch,
you are looking up at the sky just contemplating.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
You know what's throwing it for me is that you
can actually taste the paper cup. I knew there'd be something.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Yeah. You know what would make this better is a
little honey drizzle.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
If it was warmed up with butter.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
A tea.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
We're doing out of 10, right? Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:54):
One being the worst, 10 being the best. All right.
Do we have to divulge? Yeah, I guess we do.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
You got to give me a number.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
So number one, I'm going to give it a seven
out of 10. Okay. That's what I said.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Oh, wow. I had seven written down on the cup,
and then I scratched out and went six after my
second taste. Okay.
Speaker 5 (39:11):
I do feel like, okay, let's move on to number two. Now,
water number two, I'm going to say, looks a lot
like water number one.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
As I poured them in the cups, I thought, these
are all crystal clear. They all look the same. Significantly worse.
Rich doing a swish here. Significantly worse. That's Aquafina. Okay.
All right.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
And what would be your grade on that?
Speaker 1 (39:33):
A four. Okay, I guess that's significant. That's a five
for me. Okay, a five for Kat.
Speaker 5 (39:39):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
Now, that's interesting. That taste is very, very.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
You know what? It's interesting that you found a different
taste right off the get-go. Significantly worse.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Yeah, I agree. I don't know if I believe it's worse,
but you know what?
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Hang on.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
I'm going to go back one last time.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
All right.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
This is now your third or fourth sip. And swish. Yeah,
I'm going to go with a six and a half
on that one. It is worse. I wouldn't say it's
significantly worse. I feel like a lot of these grades
are going to be really close for me. All right,
let's go to number three. Can somebody hand me cup
number three? I can't reach.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
Is this three?
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Yeah, that's three. I really hope number two wasn't Arrowhead.
I'm going to feel like a real jerk if it is.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Now, I smell all three of these waters first, and
I have to say number three smells like nothing, as
did number one.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
I'm liking number three. Three is giving an eight for me.
Might be a Fiji.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Wow. Okay. I'm going Evian on that one. All right.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
I'd give that a nine.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Wow, a nine.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
That's an extremely high score.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
That is a very high score from Kat. That is
nearly a perfect 10 on the water. That one's Kirkland. Watch.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
All right, that one, I agree.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
It's my favorite so far, and I'm going to give that....
Speaker 2 (40:50):
I'm going to give that a nine also.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Wow. Wow.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Scoring very, very high. We're pretty unanimous in our low
versus high scores.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
You guys want to do a fourth here, and then
we will finish up on the other side.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Let's do that.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
All right. Fourth is standard. Fourth feels like the level
playing field. I'm going to say this about the fourth.
This one, when you swirl it. And you look at
its viscosity, it's identical to 1 through 3. Incredible.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
7.5.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Water is water.
Speaker 5 (41:17):
7.5.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
I'm giving that a 7.
Speaker 5 (41:18):
Okay, a 7.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
All right. Wow.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Rich is really thinking about it. I like that, too.
I'm going to give that an 8.5. Wow. Very high
grades on the water. I didn't think anything would be
over a 2.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
Our water rating continues next.
Speaker 6 (41:42):
1015 KGB.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Trending with TD.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Two Western lowland gorillas recently joined the San Diego Zoo
and San Diego Zoo Safari Park as part of their
breeding and conservation program. Oh. Yeah, Kitoko. He's a six-year-old male.
He's at the San Diego Zoo. He came from the
Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Hang on, TD.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
I got something for this.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Wait, what do you got? There we go. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
He got brought in for one reason and one reason only.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
That's right. Kitoko. Six years old from Seattle. Coming down
to San Diego. Going to be part of the bachelor
program here.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Going to do... Some breeding. Yep.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Meanwhile, at the Safari Park, 33-year-old Matumaini. Matumaini? She came
from the Sedgwick County Zoo in Kansas. She's one of
the silverback gorillas. Going to be hanging out with them.
in the gorilla forest family.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
Troop man these nuts coco the ladies loco it's about
to get cray cray and soco man i cannot wait
to see the pups the the fawns what do they
call baby gorillas like just babies they do i don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
What you call them the kids are they chimps No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
Chips are chips.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Chimpanzees. Different species of monkeys.
Speaker 6 (43:10):
It's important that you know that chimpanzees are different than gorillas.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
I do know that. But what do they call a
baby monkey?
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Probably just a baby monkey. A monkey.
Speaker 7 (43:22):
Cat?
Speaker 2 (43:23):
I've never even thought of this. I've never thought of
this before.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
An infant?
Speaker 2 (43:27):
A juvenile?
Speaker 1 (43:27):
A baby monkey?
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
It's just a baby monkey?
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Just an infant.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
They just call it baby? Because they're that close to us,
I guess. That is so crazy. Yeah, Google says it's
called an infant.
Speaker 5 (43:35):
Weird.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Google's lying. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
Check, champ. We should have a better name for it.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yeah, we'll come up with something after we figure out
this water situation we got going on.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
You're taking so much time.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Live Golf and its related entities have filed for Chapter
11 bankruptcy. That's good times. The league indicated it had
between $ 100 million and $ 500 million in assets. However... $ 500
million and a billion dollars in liabilities. Those liabilities include
all their top golfers.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
They were paying $ 600 million to people. Tiger got offered
a billion to join. He turned it down, but still.
This probably, my guess, was the plan all along. Either
this is going to win.
Speaker 5 (44:19):
We're going to topple the PGA or we'll just file
for bankruptcy and not pay anybody.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Right.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
And so that's what's happening.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
It does look like they cut checks at least initially
to the top golfers, but they still.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Owe them cash. that equal a billion dollars i was.
Speaker 5 (44:36):
A part of a defunct sports league uh i was
a broadcaster for the alliance of american football trust me
nobody is going to be made whole here that was a.
Speaker 6 (44:46):
Really fun like five weeks though that we spent together
that was pretty.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Cool top market investor peter levin he's a founder of
a venture firm griffin gaming partners is saying that Pokemon
cards are going to become the currency after we have
an apocalypse here on Earth. So you've got to make
sure that you collect them all. Why would that be
the currency? No, no, no. Because.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Because... Because he has a 500,000 plus card collection. That's why.
Speaker 5 (45:15):
Because Charmanders, they will survive the eternal fire that the
robots will set ablaze.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
Peter Levin will be the richest man on Earth. Because
those fire Pokemon, they're immune to fire, Kat.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Dummy. Actually, I think if Pokemon cards become currency after
the nearly certain apocalypse that AI is taking over, I
think Post Malone will be the richest man on Earth.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
That's true. Or one of the Paul brothers. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
That's right. That's right.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
I believe they're both involved. Heavily invested. And I think,
you remember that show, Pawn Stars?
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
On the History Channel?
Speaker 6 (45:48):
I think one of the younger kids, not the one
who passed away, unfortunately, has a deep collection.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Wow. Is it the one with the lisp? Yeah, Chunk, Chub,
Chub something. Chungs?
Speaker 2 (45:58):
Chumsley?
Speaker 1 (45:58):
Yeah. Chumsley. I don't think he's part of the family,
is he? No, no, he was a buddy. He's just
a buddy. He's just hanging out. But he's got a
bunch of Pokemon cards? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
He's going to become the world leader? I'd honestly vote
him for.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Chumlee. Chumlee. Chumlee is going to become our world president
slash king? He's got a pretty deep collection. What? This
guy's holding all the Pokemon cards.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
I believe in him. Alright, well listen... Do you think
he's a Motley Crue fan? I hope. I hope because.
Speaker 5 (46:27):
Well, actually, he's got enough. He's got all the Pokemon cards.
He can buy his own tickets. I mean, Motley Crue
probably plays live at his... Humble apartment in Las Vegas.
That's true. Right outside the gold and silver pawn store.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Just observing his hologram Charizard. Print one. So dynamic. Cat,
you should probably slide into the DMs. That's all we're saying.
I'll look him up. You would not be interested.
Speaker 6 (46:56):
He's a little greasy, but he gets them in his
own way.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
We got those Motley Crue tickets up for grabs.
Speaker 5 (47:03):
You got to call in at 839 to get them
at 888-570-1015. Call or 10. We're sending you to Motley
Crue in Chula Vista. In the interim, TD, you got
to taste test all these waters I poured for you.
You got a special ninth glass in front of you.
That one's a surprise.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Right.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
So the ratings are officially in.
Speaker 5 (47:25):
We taste tested eight different bottled waters and TD is
in control of all the data.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
I inputted his. He had a blind taste test as well.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
So that's four different people who have taste tested eight
different waters. So 32 different sample glasses are floating around
the studio right now.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
This was very scientific. We did not cross-contaminate.
Speaker 5 (47:46):
We made sure everybody got an individual glass and rating sample. So, TD,
without further ado, what is the worst bottled water?
Speaker 2 (47:55):
Let's start there.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
So, we sampled Avion, Smartwater, Crystal Geyser, Fiji, Arrowhead, Aquafina, Dasani,
and Kirkland.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
The lowest score on the list... coming in with a
total of 18.5 points. Smart water. That came in last?
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Smart water.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
You know what's so funny?
Speaker 5 (48:19):
That is one bottle of water I can say with
certainty that I have never enjoyed. I've never felt refreshed
or hydrated after drinking smart water. And they say it's
like supposed to be electrolyte rich.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
That's actually the one that I reach for. If I'm
buying a water out, I get smart water. I can't
stand it. I've always hated it. And now these ratings
are out of 40 possible points. And we collectively gave
it an 18 and a half. That is true. That
is true.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Now coming in second to last with a score of 20.5,
Arrowhead Water.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
Disappointing. Arrowhead.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
Now, I will say, can we throw out a caveat here,
an asterisk? Okay. It was the warmest water we tried. Yeah,
but it had a weird aftertaste. But I think it's
because it was warm.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Arrowhead is typically my least favorite water. If it was
ice cold, it would have performed better.
Speaker 5 (49:07):
Maybe. Maybe. I want to give it its fair day,
so maybe we'll do this again tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Yeah. Coming in third to last with a score of
21 points. Avion.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Avion water. That shocks me.
Speaker 5 (49:23):
Now, Avion water, I'll buy at the airport or Fiji,
but it's always my second choice.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
I usually get Fiji first.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
Now, I would say that it may, if you had
somebody who'd like to drink water, may have ranked it higher.
That was my, by far, the worst performing, my score.
Speaker 2 (49:40):
I gave it a one.
Speaker 5 (49:42):
Which one was it on our list of hours that
you had a sample?
Speaker 2 (49:47):
Which one was it for us? I'm sorry. What's that?
The Avion. That was the first one you sampled.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
Oh, it was. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:54):
I gave it a three.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
No, no, no. You gave it a three out of ten.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
I gave it a seven. You gave it a seven.
Fletch gave it a six. Kat gave it a seven. Okay.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
So that may have ranked higher, but for some reason,
that tasted terrible to me. All right. What did I
leave off here? So now we're sitting in fifth place. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Looks like fifth place.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
Is Aquafina with 25 points.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
Aquafina, which I thought would have performed worse.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
Worse.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Aquafina is not good for me.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
Okay. So we've got a few interesting ones left, including Kirkland.
Oddly enough.
Speaker 5 (50:27):
Tv it was originally a three-way tie and aquafina was
in your top three.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
Yeah i gave that a 3.5 out of 10 which
was a shockingly high score coming in in fourth place
fiji fiji water 26.5 points try to double check myself
here that is correct fourth place fiji the water i
reach for at the gas station Wow.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
That's Fiji. There it is. Interesting.
Speaker 1 (50:52):
Now, what was my grade on Fiji? Fiji, you gave it.
That was the fourth water you sampled. You gave it
an eight and a half. Yeah. You liked it a lot.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
That makes sense. I gave it a three and a half.
That was one of my top scores.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (51:02):
Well, gee, your scores are so low because you don't
like water or the taste of it, generally speaking.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
It felt like if you would have put tap water
in all those, I wouldn't have known the difference. Oh, wow.
Not at all. And it could have been all the
same tap water. Coming in in third place, with a
score of 27.5, Dasani. Dasani Water takes the number three spot.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
I like that we like Dasani. That's easy to get.
It really is. A little bit cheaper.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Rich and Kat both gave it an eight. Fletch, your
second highest score, you gave it an eight and a half.
I can't believe that. Wow. And then I gave it
a three, which is a pretty standard score for me.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Which was also your second highest score.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
That is true. That is also true. Coming in, let
me just say first place. So first place. Who are
the last two? You've got... Kirkland left and Crystal Geyser,
which is the least expensive.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
Water on the whole list.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
That's incredible. Crystal Geyser and Kirkland. There is a one
and a half point difference between the two of these.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
I love this so much.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
The number one water ranked and will forever be the
number one water, apparently.
Speaker 2 (52:17):
Kirkland with 30 and a half points.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Congratulations. Congratulations. I'll tell you what, Costco does do it right,
but Crystal Geyser, are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (52:28):
Crystal Geyser got 29 points. You gave it a nine. Kat,
you gave it a nine. That was your highest score
on the Crystal Geyser.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (52:35):
Yeah, my highest score by far was the Kirkland Water
at a nine and a half.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
Shooketh am I.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Unbelievable. Incredible.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
We do the hard work.
Speaker 5 (52:43):
We do.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
So you don't have to.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Seattle. Washington.
Speaker 5 (52:48):
A state where two of the four hosts have recently been.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
I went for a wedding.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Kat went for almost an early funeral. But that will also.
Speaker 2 (52:58):
I actually was just there too, randomly.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
You were touring the Boeing plant. TD, you're the only
one left. I've never been there.
Speaker 6 (53:05):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (53:05):
You're not missing much. No, you're missing a lot. Seattle
kind of sucks. No, it's great if it's June, July, August.
The other months do kind of suck. 75% of the
time it sucks. That's correct. Perfect.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
So make sure you thread the eye of the needle
there and you land not only in one of those
days during those months, but also on a day where
it's not overcast the entire day or raining or overwhelmingly
unbearably humid.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
Perfect.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
And then the place really shines. But it is going
to be the site of a wonderful occasion.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
The NFL is officially back.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
The Seattle Seahawks hosting the New England Patriots, the Super
Bowl rematch that nobody.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Was asking for.
Speaker 6 (53:54):
Can you breathe it, though? It's like we've just woken up.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
From the hibernation, and we're back in group text that
you haven't talked to people in years or months even
or just back on your phone.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
This is a good.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Time of year.
Speaker 2 (54:06):
Okay, I've got a weather report out of Seattle right now.
It is cloudy and 60, but today they will see
a high of 75. mostly cloudy you know.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
What and good news uh seattleians what are they called.
Speaker 5 (54:18):
Seattleites good news seattleites you'll see the sun again next august.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
It's gonna be fun all right um so what do
we like who do we like in this game uh
seahawks minus three and a half seahawks are favored by
three and a half points which is a little more
than a field goal who do they play again they're
playing super bowl.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Rematch And Soundgarden is doing the halftime show. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Almost.
What's left of Soundgarden?
Speaker 1 (54:46):
Half Soundgarden? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
Just Garden.
Speaker 1 (54:49):
I mean, I think it's just because of what I
would like to see happen.
Speaker 2 (54:52):
I want the Patriots to win. Okay. I'll go Patriots.
Do I get the points? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:56):
Plus three and a half.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Take the points, yeah, if they're offered.
Speaker 5 (54:59):
Yeah, I think Pat's plus three and a half is
a good bet.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
Look, you know, Here's the deal.
Speaker 5 (55:05):
It's hard to beat the same team twice, especially when
you play them back to back.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Now, technically, they are playing each other back to back.
Speaker 5 (55:12):
Yeah, there was about four and a half, longer than that,
seven months in between these two opponents matching up. But
a lot has changed on the Patriots side since then.
They've added receiver A.J.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
Brown.
Speaker 5 (55:24):
He came over in trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. And
the Seattle Seahawks lost Kenneth Walker, their star running back,
who really helped them to the Super Bowl last year.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
Yeah, but they drafted his replacement.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
He's a stud.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
Jadarian Price, I think that's his name.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
You don't know until you know. And he's a rookie,
so we'll find out. And then they lost some help
on defense, which that Seattle defense was tremendous last year
under first-year head coach.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
So we'll find out what happens tonight.
Speaker 6 (55:51):
Also, changed ownership of the offseason.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
That is true.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
A lot of weird changes. I'm going Hawks 34-27.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (56:02):
So you're giving us the final prediction as what was
the score, the final score?
Speaker 2 (56:08):
34-27 Seahawks. Okay. So she's also taking Seahawks minus three
and a half.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
Important to note, Patriots star running back Travion Henderson not
playing in this game tonight, dealing with an injury he
sustained in training camp. So it'll be Stevenson, his backup.
Ramondre Stevenson will be the starter. He's got a bit
of a fumble problem. That's his whole career. Not this year.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
And by the way, the Patriots offseason, we mentioned how
much Seattle lost. I mean, Patriots, there was no news
on anything Patriots related.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Except for the head.
Speaker 2 (56:35):
Coach waiting in the reporter. What? Who? Mike Rimmel, Diana Rossini. No,
I didn't hear that.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
That's weird.
Speaker 2 (56:42):
What?
Speaker 1 (56:42):
Shocking. Revelatory even. But 100% true.
Speaker 5 (56:50):
We're waterlogged because we did the investigative work.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
So you didn't have to taste testing waters to.
Speaker 5 (56:57):
Find out what bottled water has the best taste, the
best flavor, the best viscosity, the best mouthfeel, the best
water overall. And it's shocking to find out that in
first place, Kirkland water, which you can buy like a
36-pack for $ 4.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
Is it 40-pack? I believe it's $ 2. 99 for 40. No way.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
But then, you know, in California, you got to throw
a nickel on 40 bottles.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
Oh, so you get charged like an extra dollar.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
And then you get it back if you return the bottles.
It's such a racket.
Speaker 5 (57:30):
Crystal Geyser came in second place. So literally the two
cheapest bottled waters that are available.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
In the state of California. I mean, you are.
You are our winners. I don't know if it says more.
Speaker 5 (57:45):
About the water industry and how much more some of
these fancier bottled water companies spend on marketing and less
on water, or if it says something about us, that
we've been conditioned to like the cheaper stuff.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
I don't know. We did get a message asking if
our favorite bottle of water had sodium in it. And
so I'm holding the Kirkland bottle and it says ingredients,
purified water, potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium citrate, sodium chloride,
and magnesium oxide.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
So I guess so, yes. Well, trace elements.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
So I would assume since it's spring water, those are
trace elements that come from the spring.
Speaker 6 (58:25):
Shocking and alarming. I thought water was just water. Not
that all the ingredients were hydrogen and oxygen.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Yeah, no, it's like mineralized. Yeah, yeah. All those things
you'll find in a lot of... Now, don't get me wrong.
Speaker 5 (58:37):
You could remove all that through filtration. There are certain waters...
I think they do in tap, yeah? Well, actually, so
they remove a lot of those trace elements, and then
they'll add things to it like fluoride. They'll add things
to it like cleaners and detergents to make sure that
it gets rid of bacteria.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
My tap water will smell of chlorine about once a month,
which is when I like it the best. It's like
I'm swimming in it. I mean, they all have basically
the same thing in them. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
They all say the same stuff. Yeah, because I'm assuming
once you get it from.
Speaker 5 (59:09):
a you know a spring i'd imagine also a lot
of these companies get their water from the same spring.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
It could be is the spring a hose bib on
the side of some commercial building yeah because that's where
i imagine they fill it the building just says spring
on it Yeah, that's the one.
Speaker 2 (59:26):
Oh, man. But I will say this.
Speaker 5 (59:28):
It does shock me a little bit because for years
and years and years, I thought like Smartwater, I didn't
like the flavor of it. This taste test we did
proved it. But for years and years, I thought I
liked Avian. I gave Avian one of my lowest grades.
Speaker 1 (59:44):
Man, the Crystal Geyser bottle looks like the Circus Circus.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
Of water bottles. You've got some showgirl feathers on the bottle.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
It really does. By the way, those are Geysers.
Speaker 2 (59:57):
Those are Geysers.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
I've looked at these bottles. I've made a lot of determinations.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
You really have. Do we never do this again?
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
No, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
I feel very, very water-intoxicated. I'm going to die. You
guys drink basically 16 ounces of water and you act
like it's a big deal. I have to pee again, Kat.
Speaker 5 (01:00:12):
And I will right now while we're playing a little
Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Coming up after that, we have Training With TD.
Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
And then coming up on the other side of Training
With TD, we got to give away these journey tickets.
Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
You understand?
Speaker 5 (01:00:24):
We got a four pack to a show at Pechanga.
You'll find out how you win next.
Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
Well, Apple is supposed to unveil their new item starting
at 10 o'clock this morning. It's the Worldwide Developers Conference,
and there are some last-minute Apple event rumors that have
come out here. They're saying that Apple will definitely release
their first foldable phone. It's going to be called the Duo.
It's going to have Apple Pencil support if you're into that.
(01:00:54):
Shipments will begin as early as October. Unclear if pre-orders
will be earlier than that. It'll be white and dark blue.
It'll start at $ 2, 000 for the lowest storage option. It'll
have a 48-megapixel camera, no telephoto lens. The iPhone 18
Pro and 18 Pro Max should be released with a
special dark red color and have a longer battery life. However,
(01:01:17):
the iPhone 18.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Probably will not be announced.
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
They're supposed to announce that the first part of 2027.
A new Apple Watch coming out as well. And AirPods 5.
At today's Apple event.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
A really big deal. The AirPods 5.
Speaker 5 (01:01:34):
My curiosity is if they are going to make them
harder to lose. I've had now two sets of AirPods.
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
You lost them both?
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
I lost, and I did it the same way each time. Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
I lost one, and then I held on to the
other one for a very long time. Then I lost
the other one. I know how you can solve that. Yeah,
how do you do it? Put wires on them. Yeah,
but then they're not wireless. That's the dumbest thing you've
ever said. No, it sounds like you just need some
wired headphones. No, no, I have those too, but okay.
(01:02:09):
Harder to lose.
Speaker 5 (01:02:10):
That is true, but I actually have been searching for
a pair of wired headphones around my house for the.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Past three days. That you lost? I have no idea
where they are. When you lose the wired headphones, you
lose them both. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now I don't have any.
Whereas before, if I lost one wireless, I would have one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Aunt Becky is about to be single. Lori Loughlin has
filed for divorce from her 29-year-old.
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Husband, Mossimo Giuliani.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
So she's citing irreconcilable differences.
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
They got caught up in the college admissions scandal.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Oh, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Yeah. That was like 10 years ago. She was putting,
didn't she do a little jail.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Time for that?
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
I think that was 2019.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
A little light sentencing.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
A couple weeks in the slammer.
Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
Yeah. Man, there is a painting that's going viral. It's
90 years old.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Prison really changed Aunt Becky.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
It would change me too. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:03:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
A painting that's going viral. It is 90 years old.
It's called Mr. Pinchon and the Settling of Springfield. It's
by an Italian-American muralist, Umberto Romano. It depicts an indigenous
man alongside other tribesmen, an early English colonist in the
17th century in Springfield, then part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
(01:03:30):
The reason it's going viral is because the indigenous person
in the painting is.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Is clearly holding an iPhone.
Speaker 5 (01:03:40):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
I mean, this, so you hear of these things, of
how could this happen? You know, you see photographs of,
is this a time traveler? This one looks like an iPhone.
Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
That Native American is, he's taking a selfie where he's saying, hey, Siri,
when's the first Thanksgiving?
Speaker 6 (01:03:59):
It's like when you see the, like the, what do
they call it? The cave drawings of UFOs. He's talking
to you. Yeah, Siri's talking.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
It's going to be on November 26th. Yeah, I mean, it's, yeah.
It looks like he's got maybe an iPhone 5. Probably
needs to upgrade.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
One of the newer, older models.
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
5S maybe. It looks a little longer.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
Yeah, that was definitely, well, it could have been like
a stone tablet he was looking at, but he was
holding it.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
He's just staring at it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
It's like, oh, I found this cool rock. Very rectangular, square,
rounded corner rock. TD, when was that picture from? 1937.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
Yeah. 1937. 90 years old.
Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
Highly, highly suspicious.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
I'll tell you what isn't.
Speaker 5 (01:04:45):
Journey's playing Pechanga Arena for their final Frontier tour date
that's here in San Diego. That's going to be September 14th.
It's a 7.30 show. And if you want to be there,
front row when the doors open at 6.30.
Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
Well, are they front row tickets?
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
No.
Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
Fletchers?
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Well, we have tickets. I mean, you could. We're going
to get you tickets in. If you want to be
front row, just run down to the front.
Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
That's a good point.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
They're going to haul you out of there. We have
four tickets for you somewhere in the arena. And you
can make them.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
Front row if you try hard enough. But they're yours
and they're up for grabs at 937. Call us at 888-570-1015.
And we're going to have caller number 10 in. Take
those journey tickets. Again, Final Frontier Tour at Pechanga Arena
for a four-pack of tickets.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
Call us.
Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
Man alive, we've had a busy day today. Thank you
to TD for bringing in eight different types of bottled
water for exhaust. All of us do a blind taste test.
And it all boiled down to one winner. If you
want to find out what winner that was, we've mentioned
it throughout the show so you can listen back to
the podcast, Big Rich TD and Fletch, on TV.
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
iHeart, that'll be posted in just an hour after our show.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Or go to Instagram, 1015KGB on Instagram, and you could
check out who ranks the highest out of these eight
bottled waters.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
And we, I mean, Fiji, Avion, Dasani. Every water I
think there is. Aquafina, Crystal Geyser, Kirkland.
Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
Smart water.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
The results are different than any of us thought that
they would be.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Shocking. Shooketh.
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Really, really good stuff. Also, I just checked it out.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
The world's sexiest nose belongs to Natalie Portman.
Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
She does have a nice nose.
Speaker 5 (01:06:32):
Coming up tomorrow's show, we're going to be taste testing noses.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
We've got four in the room.
Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
We're going to need at least six more. Keep it
right here at 115 KGB. It's Big Rich TD and Fletch.
One final time on this Wednesday. We'll see you tomorrow
on Bar Cart Friday Eve. Our Thursday show of this
or that Thursday.
Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
Stick around for Allie next.
Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Bye, Mom. Bye.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
See you later. I'll pick you up at a quarter
to three.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Okay, bye.
Speaker 2 (01:07:28):
Shampoo is better.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
I go on first and clean the hair.
Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
Conditioner is better.
Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
I leave the hair silky and smooth.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Oh, really, fool.
Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
Really.
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
Stop looking at me, swan.
