Tomorrow is National Cat Day... so does that mean Big Rich, TD, and Fletch are legally obligated to celebrate Kat? The guys debate the proper way to honor their co-host before cracking open beers from around the world for an International Beer Day edition of Bar Cart Friday. Plus, just when you thought technology couldn't get any scarier, AI is reportedly creating viruses that could become deadly. Speaker 1 (00:00):
Will the sun's coming up now? On that San Diego sound,
Big Rich, TD.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
And Fletch, the funniest bunch.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
In this town might not be the sharpest tools, but
they sure know how to make you grin on one
oh one five kg B. So tune on in and
let the fun begin.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
What you just said is one of the most insanely
idiotic things I have ever heard.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened
to it. Hey, God, Friday, Yes, and happy Friday to
those who celebrate.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
It's Big Rich, TD and Fletch.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I am Big Rich, I got TD, my companion, my dog.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
It's not just any Friday, though, Rich, No.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
It's a bar car Friday. It brought to you by
Keg and Bottle, ten locations all throughout San Diego. Tony Tanja.
We were texting with him yesterday. I'm sure we'll find
out at some point during the show or when he
walks through the door what we'll be drinking today.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Yeah, it's a mystery sometimes, and I kind of like
it that way.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I don't mind it. I do not mind it. Get
to Keg and Bottle again. They've got uh, They've got
ten locations in San Diego Keg the Letter and Bottle
dot com also to purchase your goods and wares for
your weekend plans.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yeah, you can get You can.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Get your whole weekend set up at a Keg and Bottle.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Oh, there's no doubt. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
And if you go to the one in Del Sara,
which is pretty close to the San Diego State campus,
they got K and bbstro right there. Uh, they've got
Del Sera Pizza next door now serving gelato. Is that true? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I went there and got pizza in his last weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
But then I texted Tony, I'm like, how come you
even holding out on the Gelatto stand here? What what gives?
And he said, I just got it literally the day before,
and that seems like a likely story.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I'm glad you brought up Gelatto because to start the
show today and we've got an ext show I wanted
to I wanted to talk about food and and sort
of the way I've interacted with it over the summer,
which has been really strange.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
And I do mean that like interacting.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's been more of an interaction than really feeding myself.
We haven't like really sat down to a meal in
our household in what.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
I would argue like two and a half months. Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Wow, that's a that's a pretty strong record the four
of us together. I don't think I've eaten a meal together.
And I'll tell you why this has happened. The schedule
has been so varied, and it feels like as soon
as everybody gets home, because we've done a lot together,
we'll go out all day long and spend the entire
day with each other. Roll into the house at like

(02:46):
six thirty in the evening and the boys want to
watch some TV Mom and Dad. They want to get
away from the boys, you know, I mean like it's
it's really one of those things where it's and then
bedtime rolls and you're like, ah, somehow everybody ate just
in different rooms. Sometimes a kid will just grab a
bag of Cheetos and crawl under, you know, a coffee

(03:09):
table or something and won't emerge until it's an empty bag.
Belly's are full. That's it.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
You've done your job. You've done your job.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Is gelato Italian? Gelato is? Well?

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Yeah it is Italian. What if they have it in
France so Fletch could have it?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, he's been doing his European trip all wrong. I
can't wait till he gets back here so we could
tease him about the things that he's been up.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
So many things, so many things. Speaking of so many things.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
We have so many things to get to today, including
a four pack of tickets twice this show. We've got
a four pack of tickets to give you for the
Oh shoot, Doobie Brothers Bros. Yeah, they're gonna be playing
at Chula Vista. We're going to do that in the
seven o'clock hour, the eight o'clock hour plus we got
a thousand bucks for you to win, and we'll tell

(03:57):
you how to win that next. So a little rain
in the forecasts around the county. We've traded notes this
morning in Pacific Beach, it was a dry night, a
dry morning. As I got closer and closer to work, though,
and as the sun came up, I went back out
to my car.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
I was looking up at the sky.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
It looked like there was a giant cloud just hovering
over this building, in this building alone. So we may
get rain, just at our build, at our studio.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
It may happen, may happen.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
I now look, it doesn't say it's supposed to rain,
but I don't think it's said. It was supposed to
rain last night at my house, and at maybe about
ten thirty or so, all of a sudden the sky
opened up for fifteen twenty minutes and meant a lightning
storm that was happening.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Was incredible, that's incredible. There was a thunder and lightning.
Yeah yeah, oh wow. It was out towards the east
of me. I guess so if you sat in my
backyard you could just sit back and watch it, watch
the show. That's crazy.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
But man, it was probably more lightning than I've ever
in southern California.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Now I'm just picturing TV sitting in his backyard in
a driving rainstorm, just watching the horizon.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Yeah yeah, just sipping on a cup of coffee. Is
rain splashed down inside of it?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
There come out? It is ten thirty at night.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
I will not that. It's about right. That's about right,
that's about right. She was passed out of sleep. My
daughter Haley, though, was up watching it with me.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Oh wow. The rainstorms. They they they're good for bees. Now,
not a lot of people know this about bees, but
bees need water for nectar. They need water for nectar,
They need water for reproduction, and the less water you see,
the less bees you're gonna see around. So drought time's

(05:44):
terrible for bees. Rainy times, oh honey, production through the
roof creat for bees. Oh dude, I think unbelievable. I
think all life needs water, all life needs water, but
especially bees. Travis, right, I'm trying to educate you on
this for many, many, many seconds already.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
I typically take care of the bees around my house. Usually,
how the hell take care of the bees? Well, I mean,
as far as I don't, I don't try to get
rid of them when I have flowers out I've got
I've got a groundcover that will get a flower once
a year for about a month. And then getting out
of my truck is interesting because there's lots of bees.
So actually every time I get out of the truck,

(06:23):
I'm like, hey, bees, I'm just going to walk through
here real quick because I've got some stepping stones where
they're where they're all buzzing around.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Well, I promise you that they don't understand the bees.
I think they do. What my uh my reading on
the subject is is they dance at each other. So
it's a it's not a thing dance fighting within the hive.
That's how they communicate. Uh they also uh they what
I didn't realize until doing further research on bees, they

(06:48):
actually take nectar and that's what gets turned into the honey.
All honey is is just basically dehydrated nectar. It's kind
of like what would you compare to like if you're
gonna like a simple syrup. You know, you start with
water and sugar, and then as you boil it it
gets thicker and thicker into like a syrupe.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
That's kind of what honey is.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
It's nectar that they get out of the plants with
their little little nectar tongue or that preboscus, and then
they suck it up and then they pass it to
each other, this bead of nectar around the hive with
their wings flapping to dry it out. And then they
stowed away. And that's how honeys made.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Look we could you know what.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Actually we're going to carve out probably an hour and
a half here to talk to strictly bees, go bees
and then and then into beans. Yeah, that's right. That's
a lot of bees.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
It's all. It's all bees all day here on bigger
it's tdum flegs.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
You know what I'm thinking, one thousand dollars. That'd be
the bee's knees that buy you a lot of honey.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
They'd buy you a lot of honey, a lot, a
lot less than you want though Farmers market honey. Now
it's like twenty dollars for sixteen ounces, which seems really ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Really is a premium.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
But if you want to win a thousand bucks, we
got a keyword for you to bring over to one
one five kgb dot com and it hits right now,
ladies and gentlemen. TD was just supposed to be keeping
the seat warm, but at this point he's changed the locks.
He's forwarded his mail and put the original host belonging
on Facebook Marketplace and for cheap damn right. What started

(08:19):
as a fillain has become a hostile takeover, fueled by
bigger takes, broader shoulders. In absolutely zero remorse. Somewhere in Europe,
Fletch is staring at his radio wondering how the hell
he became Wally Pip of his own segment, Long Live
the New Regime, Long LIVETD. Well, this is where Fletch,

(08:46):
excuse me, where TD talks sports on what sort of sports? Ish. Actually,
there's a there's a whole lot of sports that happened yesterday.
So the Podreys, they are absolutely back. They won last night.
Was it five to one?

Speaker 5 (08:58):
I think that was the final life and check while
it was in the bottom of the ninth, so I
don't know the ending, but I watched zero. Somebody just
blasted five in the in the bottom of the ninth.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
They won five to one.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
Okay, good who I forgot to double check that one.
But the past five games have been win loss, win loss, win,
So what's that six hundred ball that should get him there?
That should get him there, that should do it?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Padres after the trade deadline, I'm curious what they're going
to look like. They They went on a bit of
a heater leading up to the trade deadline. Obviously they
added Casey Mice, who got roughed up in his first
start as a Padre, but he's rolling off of a
good season, and yeah, sometimes it takes a second to.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
Catch your breath after a trade.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
So I'm gonna count that as you know, almost like
a mulligan, you know, right, I'm good with that shot
off the t box, but with that as well, We'll
see how they wrap up the season. Meanwhile, I watched
zero baseball because there was football.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
My goodness, Yes, there was the Hall of Fame game
last night. Now, I talking to you about this earlier,
Rich This game, This game may have been more exciting
than the Super Bowl last year. What the hell is
going on with the Cardinals and.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
The Panthers in preseason? Yeah, a lot of points were scored.
If you had the over on the game, you you
probably hit. I don't know what the line was set
at for the total, but holy smokes. It ended up
being a fun finish too, where quarterback came for the
uh the The Panthers ended up rushing rushing it in

(10:29):
Hans Haines King.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Haines Kings King. He rushed it in for it.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Who was an undrafted rookie by the way, and probably
will make a roster somewhere just for this moment. But
he orchestrated a fourth quarter comeback and the win at
the whistle. Final play of the game was a diving
touchdown run. It was. It was pretty fun.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Now, I will say, I don't know a whole lot
of people were trying to stop him on that diving
touchdown run.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, you know what, also I say this all the
time when you turn on preseason football, especially in the
fourth quarter, especially in a game where a lot of
starters aren't going to play in like the first game
of the season or the Hall of Fame game, especially,
you're seeing a lot of guys who are not going
to be playing professional football for very much longer.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
So yeah, it was like it was.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
It was Haynes king out there running around with a
bunch of trash cans, and you can move into defensive formations.
Well they won thirty three to thirty.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Who has a lot of points for the first preseason game,
but very nice. Also in the NFL, Detroit Lions, three
time Pro bowler Jamier Gibbs got a contract extension three years,
sixty seven and a half million dollars could be worth
up to seventy five and three quarter mill that includes
fifty one point five guaranteed, but that makes him the
highest paid running back in NFL history. And then the

(11:46):
Colts Jonathan Taylor yesterday got a two year deal worth
forty four million dollars.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
The running backs getting paid, yeah, they are, And I
think it's because offenses are coming around to this thought
process that we need to attack the intermediate area of
the field because there's so many defenses that are going
to sit in shell coverage, which means like they'll have
a couple of safeties deep and they'll try to take
away the explosive place from you, the big long downfield

(12:12):
shots to the receivers, and so they're kind of giving
up the middle of the field. They're kind of giving
up the run game a little bit, and so running
backs are getting a lot of yardage. All of a sudden, again,
there's been a little bit of a return of the
RB like it's the nineteen nineties.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
All over again. Yeah, I like that. Actually I did
do fun, kind of fun. And now in NBA news,
so the LA Clippers and Kawhi Leonard, there's been a
problems that's come out.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I think this was in June.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Maybe they talked about this was an endorsement deal that
they were paying him on the side to get around
the salary cap.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Exactly right.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
It was a twenty eight million dollar endorsement deal. So
it was basically, I think of it this way, like
you're not allowed to pay a player beyond the salary cap,
and the way they were getting around it was basically
with a fake company that was built just to pay
Kawhi Leonard and then disappear. That's what it looks like,
and allegedly that's what occurred.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Well, allegedly as of yesterday, they found another company called Daktronics,
which was the manufacturing company that installed the big old
four K halo board in.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
The new Clippers arena, the into It DOMEA.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah, that that company also was paying him on the
side millions of dollars.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
And I bet he did a ton of marketing with
them as well. TV.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, it was just because you know, what.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
All I do is hear about my Daktronics jumbo tron.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
Yeah, yeah, I'm sure, I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
It's it's really odd that all of this is happening
to a guy who we're so familiar with down here,
Kawhi Leonard, being an Aztec for life, playing for the
legendary Steve Fisher with the San Diego State basketball team
and then moving on to the NBA. It's very it's
very odd that he got wrapped up into this because
if you know the player, right, he is like the

(14:02):
quietest guy you've ever met.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
In your life, which you know, in my head, it's
hey this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna pay
you this, we're gonna pay you that, and maybe he went,
can you do that? And they went, yeah, oh yeah,
that's all.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yeah, it's fine. He will all right, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's just fifty million dollars.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
They're gonna rain down on you. No big deal, no
big deal, a big deal like one does. Also James Harden,
he had that gun case that was also back in June.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
It was dismissed yesterday.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
They chose for an alternative resolution agreement.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Trying to tie up some loose ends before the season starts.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
This this big story around the Clippers and how they
paid their superstar, that's gonna be a problem because again,
if the other twenty nine owners find out that that's
how the Clippers are getting around the salary cap, do
you think they're just gonna be like, oh no, that's fine.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
Well, absolutely absolutely, But it also makes me think are
other twenty nine owners going indeed, man, I hope they
don't look into our sony billboard that we put.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Oh man, it's gonna be bad. All right, let's get
back to some bea talk. It's big rich Td fletched
out tezy. But we do have some tickets to give away.
We'll tell you how to win them next big rich
TD and Fletch one on one five kg beam And
we just had a.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Funny conversation in studio here.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
TD. I want you to know if anything ever happens
to you and Sarah, we'll take care of your kids.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Thank you, Thank you my adult children who live with me.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
I'll live with you now.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Listen, I'm gonna tell you right now, Haley requires a
lot of Kirkland frozen pizzas.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
And Chick fil a be As it turns out you're
on the same fuel.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
I say, my diet matches a twenty three year old
woman's perfectly.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
That's really unfortunate.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
So so yeah, our will will uh, we'll give you
our children. Okay, Well we have one that's self sufficient.
And we had this whole dark conversation last night Annie
and I because like, you know, we got young kids,
and it was a little bit of like, hey, like
what ams the kids when we go? If we go?

(16:13):
You know, you never make plans to check out early,
but you know, life goes that way sometimes and so
you worry. And I was like yeah, we got to
get a dog. She was like, what will that fix?
I was like, I don't know. I just I didn't
I didn't know who to say to trust with our children,
so I just said that. I just I just wanted
to say something if.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
You get if you get a real reliable dog, maybe
a border Collie, they're smart, they want to corral things.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Well, yeah, and you know what, actually it would have
been really nice to have a border Collie to go
and pet. After I got kicked out of a conversation
between two people, I don't even know how that's possible.
She was like, all right, well, we're done talking about this.
I was like, what's happening? She was like, I was
talking about like what we would do if we died,
and you just said we should get a dog. She
was like, you completely changed the subject. I'm like, no,

(16:59):
I'm like, that dog will raise that. And then I
really got kicked out. I did not I'm having those conversations,
but honestly, I mean, what are you and Sarah doing
for the next ten to fifteen years, Like would you
be able to raise another set of kids?

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Or I mean I would do it if you ask,
because we're friends.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
But oh God, don't want to start over? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Why no, you're like halfway done. We're yeah, And it's
not like you're not gonna die today, right, Well, I
wasn't planning on it. Well, unless you guys are free
this afternoon, we got we got.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
If we could die after the weekend, that would be
more convenient.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
I got this concert I'm going to over at Sea World.
It gonna be a lot of rump shaking, so I
don't want to take the kids to that.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
You got it, You got it, you understand. It's it's SeaWorld.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Speaking of tickets, we've got those Santana tickets and Doobie
Brothers tickets coming up. They're gonna be playing in showl
of this later on. And we got a text message
from a friend. It's a little bit of confirmation on
what we're gonna be delving into today on a barkur Friday.
It's just the tip with Big writs Ah. Yes, it
is just a little advice. I like to pass out

(18:09):
your way. It's yours sort of taking if you want it,
if not, shove it back this way, no harm, no foul.
It's just a tip with Big Rich and today's advice
it's milk crates. I know, I know this sounds ridiculous,
but hang on, I don't know if they And there's

(18:30):
a lot of people who are saying, what did you
just say?

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Milk crates? Milk crates.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Now, these probably have disappeared from the imaginations of many Americans,
but I feel like when I was a child, I
saw milk crates everywhere. I feel like everyone had a
milk crate in the house, somewhere in their garage, in
their backyard. And I don't know how they acquired it. Okay,
so check this out. A milk crate, and I'm talking
about it's a plastic box that has like kind of

(18:58):
the cross lattice on the sides. It's got handles on
the long sides, it got it handles on the short sides.
It can carry the heaviest things in the world without breaking,
very very sturdy. Really, you though, oh hideous, ugly, But
if you have them laying around your garage, nobody would
ever be like, oh my gosh. But you can use

(19:19):
milk rate as a laundry basket. You can use the
milkrate to help your buddy move. You can use a
milk crate to move landscaping stuff, you know, dirty stuff
in the yard, or you could use it to bust
dirty dishes, you know after a party. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Absolutely, Although it does have holes in the bottom, that's
your busting dishes that things are gonna drip.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
That's a good point. You brought in a milk rate
this morning. It's sitting on the floor over there behind
you where you usually sit, but you're running the board now.
When I saw it, I went, my god, I'm like,
I haven't owned a milk rate since I'm a child.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
Yeah, I don't know how I acquired this one either,
but it does say on the side that if it's
supposed to own, be the owner that uses it.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
And I'm not the original owner.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
I can tell you that I don't know how this
was showed up at my house. I'm confident. Then. Now,
was this a recent acquisition or is this something from
years ago?

Speaker 4 (20:12):
No, No, we've we've had it for quite some time.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Okay, I'm going to start encouraging people to to steal these.
I'm pretty sure that that is at the law. There's
no way to pay for him, so you have to
you have to take them without asking.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
Honestly, I don't know how anyone would acquire it, even
the people who they're originated with.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Well.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
See, that's my point is nobody goes to a store
and buys a milk crate.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
You just happen into one.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
So I'm saying, if you're kicking around around a dumpster
out back of a large department store or grocery, you know,
if all of a sudden you find yourself taking a
leak behind the Krogers, now you can't do That's a
milk crate. I can't do that either. I'm just saying
that kind of feels like your milk cry now, So
one oh one, ever you ever hang on you ever
turned you're in a milk crate sideways and sit on.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
The short edge.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Yeah, yeah, I've done.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
That's a perfect school.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
And you know, if you had several milk rates and
you lay them, you know, long way on the side
and then stack them, now you have bookshelf.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
See, dude, this is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Now you're talking about it's so versatile.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
This is okay.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
I'm fairly certain you could get away.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
With furnishing an apartment outside of a television and a
gaming system just with milk.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
Crates outside of one no, because you could then put
those vertical maybe zip time together. Now you have not
only shelves, but shelter, the top shelter, the top of it,
the top of its where you put the TV.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Then you put all the games down below. See this
is good, This is really good.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
But again I don't know how you require That's all
I'm saying. You steal just a tip of big rich.
You gotta steal milk crate. All right, continuing along on
a very fast moving Friday, so far, a lot still
to get to us.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
It is a.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Bar card Friday, brought to you by and Bottle, So
we are going to be getting into some sort of
libation here in a little bit.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Very excited for that.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
But we got Mike from San Diego on the line
eighty to eighty five, seven oh one to one five.
That's the number to dial. Mike has something he wants
to tell us. What is it that you need to
inform us of here, Mike already?

Speaker 6 (22:21):
Yeah, it is on Saturday, International Cat Day and you
guys need to be aware of this.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
International Cat Day is tomorrow. Wait, so tomorrow, Saturday, August eighth,
is International Cat Day.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
And does that mean we have to put something together.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Well, no, this is what I'm thinking, like, maybe, yeah,
if Cat was here, she would be pissed that we
weren't aware of this already. That's true.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Throwing some sort of some sort of get together for.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
Portionanala International Cat Day. Hang on, let me, let's put
International Cat Day. What are you supposed to do?

Speaker 1 (23:03):
I mean, how funny would it be if we just
send her boxes and boxes of fancy feast to her house?

Speaker 4 (23:08):
I think that would I think that's what's necessary.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
All right, International Cat Day, man, I'm looking up national
days here. It's also oh, this is going to be
problematic for you, Rich, we got it's national and day
or any day and day eight nne whoa so on
Cat Day?

Speaker 4 (23:28):
Also any day?

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Okay, but check it out's name is spelled ann no
we oh no we I'm safe, okay, okay, okay, okay,
I don't have to worry about that. Actually, I know
it's International Cat Day and we should be more excited
about this, and Mike, thank you so much for the call.
But it's also International Beer Day, so I'm way more
into that tomorrow. And then also okay, National CBD Day, Okay,

(23:55):
I really want you to be numbed up. August eight
of twenty two TWI I'm not kidding. Is National National
Sneak Some Zucchini onto your Neighbor's Porch Day. It was
created by humorist Tom Roy to acknowledge the summer gardening
truth that myrcchini plants produce far more than any household

(24:17):
can consume. Why would they have a day called National
Sneak Some Zucchini onto your Neighbor's Porch Day? What?

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Why?

Speaker 4 (24:26):
Why not just National Zucchini Day.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
It all goes back to acknowledge the summer gardening truth
that zucchini plants produce far more than a household could
ever consume.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
It.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
I thought you were listening. You have to sneak it
on your neighbor. I came to hand it to them
because nobody wants zucchini. You need a sneaky zucchini. You need, Yes,
you need to hand somebody the old sneaky zucchini. You
know what. You might want to leave it on.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
The back porch, maybe they maybe they'd rather have it there.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
I don't know. I do know.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
You know what's really funny about it. A lot of
people will be like, you know, I'll always.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Exc at zucchini at the front door, but a lot
of people will lie. We didn't tell them that they
that they don't want it at the back door because
because it's there's like well, I guess maybe on holidays,
but but I mean, the back door might be a
better place for the zucchini because maybe it's it's not
sunny there, right.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
It's shady air.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah, so that might keep the zucchini in better shape longer.
I will say, I kind of kind of want to
celebrate Sneaky Zucchini Day.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Sneaky Zucchini Day is going to be a fun day
for most for both oh Man, well, Mike, anyways, thank
you again for the call.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Uh, we appreciate your service.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
We'll be celebrating a bevy of holidays here tomorrow. Man.
We uh were kind of bummed and that was a
good phone call.

Speaker 7 (25:47):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
That was pretty informative because we realized that it's a
Sneaky Zucchini Day tomorrow, International Beer Day tomorrow, and actually
there's a little bit more on that front just a moment,
and also it's International Cat Day tomorrow. But you just
we play a little Jack and Diane there from John

(26:09):
Mellencamp don't call him cougar. And you you realize that
National Chili Dog Day we missed it. We missed it.
It was at the end of July.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
It was July thirtieth, and next year will be on
the twenty ninth, because apparently everyone knows National Chili Dog
Day is the last Thursday of every July.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
It's like Thanksgiving. It does kind of bother me. It
does kind of bother me that we missed it. Now,
and here's the reason why I don't eat enough chili dogs.
I've been saying this for years. I've complained to Annie
about it, my wife, it's much. You filed a complaint, well,
just because, like I think part of the reason why

(26:50):
my hot dog consumption is so low overall is because
Annie despises hot dogs. So that was my wife. She
won't touch Sara now. Sarah does not even want to
watch me eat a hot dogs. Say, see, if a
hot dog is being cooked anywhere within the vicinity of
our property, she'll like make that face like that like
where you're like all of your face gets scrunched up

(27:10):
because the scent is so alarming to your system. I
can't like, I'm like that smells delicious to me. I'm
fine with it as well. In fact, that one time
we went to go get lunch, we couldn't decide on
what we both wanted. She wanted some bagel sandwich thing
at someplace. We went and got that, and then I
drove over to a circle k and grabbed a hot dog. Yeah,

(27:31):
and she she about lost her mind. I had to
eat it outside. That's my point. I've only ever eaten
hot dogs outside of baseball games, not since I was
a kid. I haven't eaten a frank footer or a
hot dog indoors. And I only call it that because
my grandma used to make frankfooters in.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
Sauer kraut on her stove.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
She would boil it in the sour crowd. Yeah, I mean, dude,
by god, and by the way, the house, I mean,
the paint on the wall would be peely.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Yeah, I mean if the guest that was exchanged, if.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Your wife has a problem with just a smell of
hot dog, dude, boil that thing in sour kraud.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
My god, it was nuts. She was an old, old
German lady. But but yeah, when it comes to chili dogs,
I mean similar to Thanksgiving. You I'm glad you mentioned
that TV like, I only eat turkey one time a year,
it's on Thanksgiving, So we got to start celebrating National
Chili Dog Day here in studio otherwise I'm gonna lose

(28:28):
my damn mind.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
Well, we have almost a full year to prepare for it.
At this point, your your hand is in or your
head is in your hands. At this point, you're that frustrated.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
I'm pretty upset about this, but we'll get to it
next year. You know what we'll get to on this
show here today is since it is International Beer Day
on Saturday, we got a text from Tony Kanja, owner
operator of Keg and Bottle ten locations all throughout San Diego,
and guess what he's bringing in for the boys today?

Speaker 5 (28:57):
Tell me it's beer, A couple of brusky Yes, Oh,
come on, come on. I like this a lot. I
like this a lot. So we're going to figure out
how to get your weekend all set up. Weekend ready
here all thanks to Cake and Bottle. Love it, absolutely
love it.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Also five minutes away from your next chance for one
thousand dollars, be listening for that keyword right here on
one on one five KGB.

Speaker 7 (29:19):
One oh one five kgb trending with TD well.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
San Diego's new e bike regulations officially take effect today,
just days before students head back to school. Under the
new ordinance, which was approved in June, kids under twelve
are not allowed to ride e bikes, and there's also
higher regulations on helmet requirements and passenger limits, especially if
the bikes have a second seat built in an additional seat.

(29:45):
So if it has an additional seat, wouldn't that mean
it's for a passenger?

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Yeah? Yeah, what about peg? Yeah? So what's interesting about
this is it sort of feels like e bikes are
going to become so what's the word overregulated that you're
going to see less and less people on them. Like,
think about how many bird and Lime scooters right you
used to see? Right? They were ubiquitous. They were everywhere,

(30:13):
they were among us. They were being left on our
front yards, especially in neighborhoods, coastal neighborhoods like Pacific Beach
where I live. I mean we would wake up, I
would wake up for work because I'm the first out
of our driveway probably once a month, and have a
bird scooter parked behind one of our cars.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Man, when I was thirteen fourteen fifteen riding the bike around.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
I was stupid. I mean dumb.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
I can't imagine having a e bike that. These things
are fast and like a little motorcycles.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
They'll go like twenty four to thirty five miles per
hour and in an instanct they're booking. Yeah and yeah.
There's there's got such high torque right because the wheels
get action immediately from the electric motors.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
They're dangerous.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
I think kids should be forced to ride a pedal bicycle.
They know the trials and tribulations of trying to get
that thing up a hill or maybe the pedal swinging
around hit me on the shin.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
You got to burn it.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
To earn it.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Like if you want to go to the UTC.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Mall and you're you're, you're leaving, You're you're leaving, like like,
I don't know noon to make a twelve thirty movie. No, no, no, no,
I want you to be pedaling from nine am at
until you get there. When you get there, you're sweaty, yes,
you are sweaty.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
Yes, man, this is pretty cool Universal Studios, which is
also I can't believe I'm talking about Halloween time right now,
but Universal Studios.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
They have their their Halloween Horror Nights. I know exactly
what you're about to say.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
If this kicks off September third.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Is this the Ozzy Osbourne Haunted House?

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Okay, so guess who told me about this?

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Is this? My eleven year old son?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
What?

Speaker 1 (31:47):
He goes? Dad? He was like, they have an Ozzy
Osbourne Haunted House at Disney And I'm like really, And
so I'm like, I guess they must have like added
his bus to Haunted Mansion. And then I look it up.
It's at Universal Studios. It's the Ozzy Osbourn.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
Ozzy Osbourne Prince of Darkness Haunted House for Halloween Horror Nights.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
How have they not done this sooner?

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I don't know. But they're going to celebrate his entire career.
It's gonna be Ozzie's music.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
It's gonna be creepy demons and ghouls that you've seen
on stage.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
I can't wait for it. I feel like I want
to call somebody and we should be there doing the
ribbon cutting for this.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
I'm going to petition our sales team here at iHeart
San Diego to have a live remote from Universal Studios.
In Hollywood to usher in the Ozzy Osbourne era Universal Studios, Hollywood.
It's a wonderful place. And that's a really cool exhibit,
very cool, very cool.

Speaker 5 (32:40):
And there is a new Internet superstar, Internet sensation.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Her name's Tony Bratton. She's a QBC host.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
You may have been thumbing through your Internet apps or
whatever you have Instagram, Facebook and seen her. But she
was on the air yesterday. She has a wig line
that is called Fabulous. Her Fabulous is her wig line.
So she was wearing a wig and she was showing.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
It off and she was just going on and on
about the texture and the wavy pattern, and well, what
she wanted to say is it looks so good. It
looks like you gotta blowout at your salon.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
But instead it sounded like love to.

Speaker 8 (33:18):
Show the texture and this wave pattern again. It looks
like you went and got a blow aft, your blowout
at your salon, and it looks beautiful.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
All right. So everyone's laughing now, I mean, it's completely
making fun of her, and she has now turned towards
the camera.

Speaker 5 (33:43):
She's laughing. She's hiding behind the desk. Oh Live Television
is great man.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
A little bit of a Freudian slit there.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
Now but a fabulous one apparently if you get this wig,
I have bought as mini as I can.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Yeah, I'll tell you now, yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
Uh metal metal menu.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
It's gonna be crazy how many of these wigs sell
around Father's.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Dad, absolutely everywhere, like, oh, it's bigger, it's.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
TV of Fletch one one five kgb. We are an
hour and a half, less than an hour and a
half away from kickoff of Barkurt Friday. We had kickoff
of the NFL last night. We briefly covered it during
the fletched on where TD talks sports, but the NFL
was back in ernest last night. We saw the Carolina
Panthers at the Buzzer beat the Arizona Cardinals in the

(34:43):
Hall of Fame game.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
The reason why they played against each other.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Part of the reason is Luke Keekley, who's a linebacker
who was in the NFL during my time playing. Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
He was inducted or will be inducted.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
To Canton and Larry Fitzgerald, who is a receiver for
the Cardinals and a teammate of mine. He was or
will be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
And what dawned on me while I was watching this
and seeing the cutaway shots to Larry to Fits we
call them, and Luke Keighley was, I'm getting old when

(35:19):
your teammates are being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Like, yeah,
you're officially old now.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
Luke Keighley looked like he could go play today. Yes,
he could just step back on the field. He's still
in pomal Incredible.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
It was.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
It was actually shocking, but you know, very cool. I
think it's very cool.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
What was very odd is I think it was ninety
five or ninety six at my house yesterday, sun starts,
you know, to go down, lowering on the horizon. Football's
on the TV, and I thought that feels like fall.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
It does.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Yeah, all of a sudden on August sixth, I'm telling you,
summer's almost over corn long time that as soon as
July starts to tick down, fall falls arriving. Well, what's
crazy about it? Also is a new face to the booth.
It was an NBC game. You have Chris collins Worth,

(36:14):
who's the color analyst. He sits alongside the voice of
NBC Football, which is Mike Tarrico and they're bringing you
the sights and sounds of the game. And guess who
drops by former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who
stepped off the field during the playoffs and into the
broadcast booth. And I gotta tell you, I really enjoyed
his commentary. It was actually a fun watch.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
I love him. I love him so much. I just
I just wish he could be here and just make
fun of us. Yeah, I just wanted to yell at me.
His one liners were great. I think he's going to
be fun to watch all season. But how about it,
Football's back the fall, It's upon us man. Okay, it
is a Barcar Friday, brought to you by Keg M.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Bottle here on Big Rich TDM Fletch. But you brought
up something that I thought was really funny. When you
were a kid, did your parents Did your parents always
have a giant plastic jug of either water or iced
tea or a juice of some sort inside of your refrigerator.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
All the time.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
We had a that it was the Tupperware picture, didn't everyone.
I don't know if these were issued when you got
married in the seventies. I believe they were it was
a topwear picture. It had that that top, that lid
that you had to press down with your thumb in
order to get it out.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
And that thing was always filled with kool aid. You
had kool aid. It was always kool aid, always, and
it was either a tropical punch or great okay. So
we too had the giant cylindrical tupperware plastic picture with
the top but which, by the way, our button on
top of that picture never worked.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
It was it was.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
It was just just yanked the thing. Yeah, it was
just on and off that.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
And and what we would have is always lemonade and
iced tea, okay, always okay. So we would have Country
Time lemonade out of the jug that you poured the
powder and when the kids were we were set with
the with the parameters to make the lemonade.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
The lemonade was clawingly sweet, right. We made it as
sweet as we buck we could.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Then we also had iced tea, now iced tea buried.
It would be lipped in sometimes out of the can.
It'd appeel the little aluminum foils top off of after
you peeled the plastic top off of it, or it
would be or it would be country time. You would
dump the ice tea mix into the water.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
Same thing our iced tea always always because we had
another jug. It was it almost looked like a giant
mason jar made a plastic Oh you know, it had
the little spout at the bottom, and that was always
just the lippt in tea bags. You fill it with
water and then it sat outside in the sun for

(38:56):
at least a day.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Your parents made sun tea every.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Time it was. It was just sat out in the sun.
And then we when it came in it was rocking hot.
So what's crazy is we would have this iced tea
in the fridge. We'd have the lemonade in the fridge.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Never, not once in my entire life did I ever
take the two picture pictures and mix them together. And
then all of a sudden, Arizona iced tea came out
with the Arnold Palmer. Yeah, and it blew everyone's mind.
I was like it was sitting there in the refuge
root of the whole time, in front of our faces. Yeah,
I can't believe it. Wait, a millionaires, we would have

(39:31):
been We're staring you down the yellow in the brown forever.
They shall be a part and they never insered mixing.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
Man, if only you came up with a cool golfer name.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
No no, if I really screwed it up, I could
have blew it, things would have been different for us
TD Yep, things would have been different. It's big red
cdum flets one on one five kgb Okay, So a
couple of items to check off the list. One, are
we set up for some beer drinking in here, because

(40:03):
that's happening in an hour.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
We're not quite ready. Actually, I've got to do a
few things. I gotta spruce up the place. Okay, we
had some work to do there.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
We also have more of those Santana Doobie Brother tickets
to give away. Also, we've given away technically two separate
opportunities for you to win one thousand dollars so far today,
and we're gonna have another opportunity in just less than
fifteen minutes now. All the while, I'm thinking about weekend
plans here for folks, and every single website I go

(40:36):
to to just see what's happening in the news is
talking about the new Spider Man movie. It's kind of
incredible how much money this thing is making. And you
know what, we've seen it before. It was Avengers End Game.

Speaker 5 (40:49):
Ye did the same thing, and in fact, actually it
got to a billion dollars worldwide, maybe a day or
two quicker than this recent Spider Man. But I haven't
felt a buzz about a movie long time. And what's
wild is there was so much build up for The Odyssey,
which is also a massive, massive blockbuster of a movie,
but literally in one week there was another movie that

(41:13):
has dwarfed it. And because I think The Odyssey is
sitting around nine hundred million worldwide and Spider Man is
about one.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Point three, it almost feels like.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
I don't know, I've always said this about bars, or
nightclubs or restaurants. Even lines make lines like when you're
walking down a street and you see a bar on
one side of the street where it looks like nobody's
in there, and maybe six people bellied up to the bar,
a couple of TVs going, and a waitress out front,

(41:48):
you know, mopping off one of the tabletops with a
dirty rag. You're thinking to yourself like, all right, hey,
I'll go in there for a cold beverage. But then
you look to the bar across the street to your
right side and there's a line six people deep, and
the place is jamming, and there's people laughing and there's
music playing, Like you want to be there, Yeah, Like
you sort of have this feeling like, well, I don't

(42:09):
want to miss out on what's going on that side
of the street, so you hop in the line. You'll
wait for six people ahead of you to go into
the bar to see what's happening, as opposed to bellying
up and getting a drink right away at the other
place across the street. So like, I kind of feel
like the Odyssey may have helped Spider Man brand new
day because it got people in the mood. Yeah. Maybe

(42:29):
you know, maybe they had already showed up to the
theaters a week ago and they went, well, let's do
that again.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
The fastest film ever to cross the five hundred million
dollar mark domestically at which rate it's over. It's over
five hundred million dollars domestically in seven days, is what
it took. It is at one point one five billion globally.
That was as of yesterday. Now, the last Spider Man
that came out total grossed one point ninety two billion worldwide,

(42:56):
so nearly two million dollars was the Last Spider Man.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
This one's gonna blow it out of the water. What's
killing me a little brazy? And you've seen the movie,
I haven't. Is Tom Holland in my head he's not
like a leading man. He's still I mean, he's a
he's a man. He's obviously he's an adult. He's a man,
but like, I don't I see him as a boy.

Speaker 5 (43:20):
So we literally had this conversation before we went to
go see the movie. I was actually talking with my
kids talking about Tom Holland and they were saying, he's
the biggest star in the world, which technically is true.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
But my my problem was, he's not a Tom Cruise. No,
he's not a Brad Pitt. No, I mean, and if
you put Tom Holland's name on a poster, I don't know,
I don't care. Like even okay, so even Tom Hanks, right,
like Tom Hanks, I mean, is he is he the
most handsome man in the world. No, but like he

(43:52):
has like like you you say leading man and oh yeah,
he made that makes sense when you say, like, I
don't know, Burt Reynolds, when you when you think of
some other of like the biggest names in mel Gibson
for a time, right, right, right, These guys.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
Look like right men.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Yeah, so that's st alone. Arnold swore things. They commanded
you to go to see this movie, even if you
had no idea what was happening. I feel like Tom
Holland is the kid who like, you're in your halloway,
you know, the hallway outside of eighth grade algebra CLO class,
and all of a sudden, the locker opens up next
to you, and you're like there was a person inside there,
and Tom Holland comes stumbling out. He goes right, fellows

(44:34):
from uh Pe. They decided to dispense of me in
this this whole way locka any any spray, I'll see
you in algebra. Yeah he does have an English action. Yeah,
he does have an English act. And the other thing
is I feel the exact same way. But I love him.
Oh yeah, I love him. Everything he's been in I've enjoyed.

(44:55):
I love him as Spider Man. He's the best Spider
Man to me, and he is arguably going to be,
if not already, one of the richest most successful leading
men in all of film. All Right, we got a
thousand dollars for you to win. Just for listening to
one one five kgb and it's pretty simple. You take

(45:15):
a keyword to bring it over to our website one
to one five kgb dot com. Put in there for
your opportunity to win off thousand dollars and that keywords
hitting in exactly seven minutes.

Speaker 4 (45:26):
Keep it right here. It's big rich TDM fletch.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
You know how sometimes people will they'll complain about things
and then somebody will come over the top with kind
of ultimately the uh the the They'll they'll just be like, ah, well,
we're all going to be dead one day. It doesn't matter,
you know what I mean, Like, you know, yeah, it
sort of takes big problems and it minimizes them in

(45:48):
the grand scale of things. Like sometimes when I'm really
having a hard day, I just think about the fact
that we are on a rock hurdling billions of miles
per hour through space and time, trailing a star that
is doomed to explode at some point like a like

(46:10):
a years. Oh yeah, no, it's true, but but I mean,
but ultimately nobody will ever remember me. Everything is for
for not yea and life and life as we know
it is just a fleeting like a a a the
tip of the whisker of the giant cat or or
puma or space mountain lion.

Speaker 5 (46:32):
That that is the universe. It's it doesn't matter if
you want to get real dark. So after your kids
unless they have grandkids that know you, who's going to
talk about you?

Speaker 4 (46:44):
No but right, nobody ever.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
And so so it's a good way to sort of
minimize yourself and make the big scary things that happen
in your life seem so much smaller and easier to handle,
because why not take the risk on the thing because
it it's all had in the same place. Anyways. Look,
the point, the same place is the end is the end.

Speaker 4 (47:07):
The reason why I bring this up is the end
is nearer than we think.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
In the next installment of Terrifying Scientific News, AI is
now being used to create its own brand new novel, viruses.

Speaker 7 (47:26):
Destructor.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
That is a perfect perfect movie. Click play. That's when.
That's when the gold Husters meet Jules and she says,
choose the foam of your destructor. And then all of
a sudden, the state puffed marshmallow Man comes bounding down
the streets of New York. Because I couldn't help, but

(47:49):
she's popped in there because Ray he couldn't help himself,
and Egon's pissed and doctor Frankman's piston. Winston is saying
the state pub marshmallow man, what did you do? Ray?
What did you do that? I wish it was the
stay puff martinals Man. Instead, it's coming in the form
of so AI. What exactly did these these these scientists.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Stanford University, I think that did this.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
They they went to AI and they said, hey, we
would like to look at these antibiotic resistant viruses and
see if we can come up with the way to
battle them.

Speaker 1 (48:28):
Should they come up again?

Speaker 5 (48:30):
So they asked whatever their AI model to make viruses,
and they said, you know what, let's try sixteen different strains.
It successfully made sixteen different viruses to.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
Sicken.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
I wouldn't I don't think they were made to kill
the human race, but that we can't fight the thing
just created them. So, I mean, in a petri dish.
A lot of people would say, why on earth would
you ever do this? Why would you create a novel virus?
A lot of people would say that, yes, the argument
for this is, well, you create a novel virus so

(49:08):
that you can create an any body or a vaccine
to fight that virus, because if you could replicate it
in the lab, if it happens naturally in the normal
flora and fauna of the world as we exist in,
you have a better chance of fighting it. Here's the problem.

(49:28):
Sometimes those viruses get out and has been proven after
twenty twenty that's exactly what happened.

Speaker 5 (49:37):
Yeah, and then now you have experts saying, wait, hold on,
if the thing can just make a virus, what if
it gets mad at us?

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Yeah. So the other problem with artificial intelligence is they
call the area with safeguards that artificial intelligence plays within
the sandbox, and they keep artificial intelligence is that they're
testing in the sandbox to to disallow it from going
rogue and doing things to us. But they're doing the

(50:05):
same thing with AI. They're telling it, hey, threaten us,
try try to try to manipulate us, try to coerce
us into doing things, and it'll it'll make up allegations
about incredibly awful things adultery, pedophilia, et cetera, and it'll

(50:26):
it'll it'll try to find ways to twist your words
and make you feel sorts of ways. If all of
a sudden, we teach artificial intelligence somehow to hate us,
and then we give it access to building viruses.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
We're doomed. He got about twenty years.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
District, twenty years, twenty years. We've chosen the expirations on
the side of the milk cart. I hope you've got
big plans over the next two decades.

Speaker 5 (50:52):
That's all I give us. Yeah, I would say, mark
the tape. I can't disagree.

Speaker 7 (51:00):
One oh one five kgb trending with TD.

Speaker 5 (51:03):
Well, congratulations to the first three graduates of the San
Diego Humane Society's raccoon nursery at its Ramona Wildlife Center. Well,
I didn't know they even had a raccoon nursery, but
apparently they've returned these little little orphaned raccoons that were
found out Ocean Beach and Twulivisa and Santee back to

(51:26):
the wild. Which all I want to do is own
a raccoon. I just want to find a baby raccoon,
which I think it's against a law to have one.
So if I just become a wildlife center.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
Okay, yeah, yeah, the Travis Dale Wildlife Center of Valley Center, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (51:44):
Yeah, yeah, I just want one baby raccoon.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
That's all the TDWC of VC. It's uh, if you
open up a wildlife center, I would visit because I
know the array of animals that you have come in
contact with over your life. You've caught a lizard in
our pocket parking lot. We named it Biting.

Speaker 4 (52:06):
Got a lizard at the movie theater on Tuesday, did
you really?

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Yeah? He was outside, just a little guy, this one
that you caught here. Kat forced us to free otherwise
it would have been the show pet. Yeah. Yeah, he
was real angry. Yeah, he was an alligator lizard. He
was an alligator lizard. He'd bit a lot. Was not
very friendly. That guy got released into the wild. You
used to feed a hawk that dropped by your neighborhood

(52:31):
in the last neighborhood you lived in. Yes, that's correct, correct,
you would feed it try tip Yeah, yeah, just so okay.
It wasn't like I went and got a try tip
and slice the thing up for it. He was I
was you know, when you when you're when you're trimming it,
you're taking the fat off. It still has some meat
on there a little bit, and then so then I

(52:52):
started to just save it every time I had a
try tip.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
So when he'd come by. I'd go out there and
feed it to him. Feed the hawk.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
Yeah, you also askued one of your cats in your
house is a rescue cat from the mouth of a
Saint Bernard next door.

Speaker 5 (53:08):
It was two doors down. Yeah, that's Gus, Gus the cat,
Gust the cat.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
The dog came running over to your property and what
do you got in your mouth?

Speaker 5 (53:16):
It was the neighbor actually pulled it out of the
dog's mouth. That's this little, this little tiny it was
a little bloody kitten. He was he was gotten mulled
a little bit, and he was about a day old.
He had an umbilical cord when he came to Oh
my gosh, it was. It was crazy. Gostily bottle fed
back to life.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Gus the cat will never know how good he has it. No,
he's probably very entitled. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll
ever see straight either. He's crossing. That's incredible. That's also
that's also strangely adorable. Wow. Raccoon Wildlife said, yeh, yeah,
so that's coming to Valley Center soon.

Speaker 4 (53:53):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (53:54):
A medical scare involving a member of Earth Wind and
Fire forced the Lionel Richie concert up in San Francce.
This go to be postponed last night. Fans were already there.
They were they were piling into the show. And then
right before seven twenty pm, and I think the thing
was supposed to start at seven thirty, they said there's
a medical emergency involving a band member.

Speaker 4 (54:15):
We have to cancel the show. And everyone freaked out.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
They were like, oh my god, LI know Richie.

Speaker 5 (54:20):
And they said it's someone from Earth Wind and Fire
and they said, ah, all right. They didn't they didn't
release a name of who it is.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
That.

Speaker 4 (54:28):
I really hope everyone's okay.

Speaker 1 (54:29):
I think everyone. I'm it sounds like somebody got sick.

Speaker 4 (54:33):
Yeah, hopefully it's not bad.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (54:36):
It's really annoying though, like.

Speaker 1 (54:37):
When people are in a hot fuss over something about
you and then they find out, oh no, no, no, it's
it's it's rich We were talking about rich and then
they're like, ah, Nevermney.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
Yeah that's yeah, that's kind of what happened. Yeah, yeah,
we thought this was a real emergency. Away so I mean,
some line, okay, come out?

Speaker 1 (54:54):
So, uh is that is that still happening? Oh it
is okay, We're all good.

Speaker 4 (54:59):
We're all fun.

Speaker 5 (55:00):
Fine, man, I didn't know that they even made this flavor,
but apparently fans of dan And yogurt are very upset.
So much though, so they're starting in a petition to
get this flavored back because it's been canceled. Coffee flavored
dan And Yogurt has been discontinued.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
I've had this before.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
You've had coffee flavored yogurt, and nobody should complain that
it's going on. Well, was it a goof? Was it
a bet?

Speaker 3 (55:26):
No?

Speaker 1 (55:26):
So I had, So this has been going on for
a long time. Danan started making coffee flavored yogurt when
we were actually TD you were probably twenty five ish
what I was probably later in my high school years.
And I remember my sister came home with it the

(55:47):
first time and she was like, did you know that
they make coffee flavored yogurt? And I'm like, I'm like, no,
I did not, nor should anybody know that? Why those
two flavors should never Why a cross? Why would that
be chosen? And so she opened it up and she
had a bite and pretended to like it. Because my
sister did this a lot when we were younger. She
tried to pretend like she had really like eclectic tastes,

(56:08):
so she'd be like, this is delicious and exotic. Cat.
Oh yeah, cat doesn't all the time. So I took
a bite and my reaction was near vomitus, and so
I said, that is discussing. I'll never eat that again,
and I never have ye and now nobody gets it.

Speaker 4 (56:27):
Good.

Speaker 5 (56:27):
Yeah, thank you Dan, and thank you. Also, did you
create tricks yogurt? Bring that back? Yeah, dude, Yeah, that's
that's the way to go. Dannon or Yo play that
started making tricks yogurt. Either way, it's delicious, absolutely, you.

Speaker 1 (56:42):
Know what it was also delicious A nice cold beer
at a Santana concert. And if you want to go
to cheulavist In see Santana play you gotta be called
her ten at eight and eight five seven oh one
on one five. Huge congrats to Carrinne and Joshua who
both won tickets today for Santana Doobie Brothers tickets there

(57:02):
they're going to be going to the show August eleventh,
so this show is quickly coming up.

Speaker 5 (57:07):
Corin, by the way, earlier does a shout out for
kat Oh wow, no, no high to us Rich that's cool.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 5 (57:14):
Shout out to Kat and then Joshua Joshua, I believe
listen on the Free I radio app. He's up in
the ie in Montclair. He he's out towards La listening.
Oh no, kidding, well, very cool.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
That's a long ride of chill of this and my
friend Pat it's worth it. Yeah. Absolutely for Santana, I mean,
who knows how long he's going to play for I mean,
Santana has been playing music for a long time.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
That's gonna be a fun show.

Speaker 5 (57:35):
Santana and the Dewey Brothers are both bucket lists you
gotta go see in a concert, make sure you're there.

Speaker 4 (57:41):
You gotta see him once.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
And to be able to check both of those boxes
with one show is pretty great.

Speaker 4 (57:46):
Absolutely, I'm gonna read a headline to you.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Okay, US companies AI lets Ukraine's cheap kamikaze drones track
down targets on their own. So we just got finished
with Stanford Edison. We're doing who are allowing artificial intelligence
to build their own viruses like they're playing with legos

(58:08):
and now now, okay, so we've been aiding the Ukraine
side of the war against Russia that has been going
on for years now. Now we're allowing artificial intelligence drones
to attack Russian targets on their own. So these drones
take off, they're given parameters. I'm sure you know it's

(58:31):
told here's what Russian military vehicles or here's what. I
don't know. Russian military soldiers look like, go find some
and kill them. And they're they're bombarding these targets on
their own.

Speaker 5 (58:44):
I guess where my concern lies here is we are
really hand in computers the keys here. I mean, just
do whatever you want. Type of a situation where it's
like the Simpsons where robot Bart loses this mind and
everything he sees is kill, kill, kill.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
That's what's gonna happen here. So here's the first two paragraphs.
To do with this information what you will. Ukrainian drone
operators have destroyed many Russian armored vehicles on the ground,
even military hop helicopters in mid air during the course
of the armed conflict, using four hundred dollars shrike drones
with explosive payloads. Now, thousands of such drones are getting

(59:25):
a major upgrade with AI system capable of autonomously tracking
and honing in on moving targets. In mid July, the
Ukrainian military received Shrike drones made by the Ukrainian company Skyfall, which,
by the way, how ironic that we're borrowing names from

(59:47):
Bond movies. I's gonna say. With AI powered autonomy hardware
and software developed by a US company called.

Speaker 4 (59:56):
Artarion Auto reON, it does matter.

Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
The company's plan to deliver fifty thousand drones equipped with
this sky Node s strike kits coming in months. That
strike kit is the autonomous ability to track and kill
targets on their own.

Speaker 5 (01:00:15):
I wish that we were building Kid from night Rider. Yeah,
I make that, make that the drone?

Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Yeah? Could that be the artificial intelligence or yeah, we're cooler.
I mean, I guess hal was terrifying, but at least
it was just a glowing red light in a wall.

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
True, that's true. Yeah, he did kill everyone.

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
He did.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Man, we just got confirmation that Tony Kanja Kegan Bottle
he is going to be coming in on this Barkar
Friday with a bucket full of beers. So that's gonna
be fun. Because tomorrow is International Beer Day? Is it
international or just national international? The world, the whole world
gets to celebrate beer tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (01:00:52):
That's incredible. That's incredible. So are we doing beers around
the world. We don't know yet.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
I think he said he was going to do something
fans see, You're gonna do something crushable, something sessionable.

Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
Yeah, damn no, I hope that's uh.

Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
I hope that's all happening all. You know what. Honestly,
I'm gonna be any any.

Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
Beer I'm okay with.

Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
I've never really met a beer that I'm really turned
off by.

Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
In general beer. I don't love a Guinness.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Oh wow. I really enjoy a Guinness on Patty's Day
or around about, you know, like once the March, the
month of March hits and you start seeing the end
cap displays at all the grocery stores, I'll drink, and
not a ton of Guinness. I don't drink a lot,
you know. Really, Friday's here maybe one other time during

(01:01:41):
the week on average obsdays usually just Fridays though here
on the show. But during the month of March, I
will crack open one of those tall Guinness cans and
I love watching like the bubbles, you know, go from
the top to the bottom.

Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Oh nothing makes me happy. I mean, I like to
watch that. I just don't like to taste it, which
I think the only time I ever have one is
when you forced me to drink one on Saint Patrick's Day.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Otherwise it's it's kind of muddy. It's almost it's almost
like I love it so much, almost like you took
coffee grounds and distilled them. Speaking of grounds, you know
how we're all obsessed with little ground powders and potions
and libations. Not on a barcroft Friday necessarily, but just

(01:02:25):
in our life, our general life. Like they tell you,
I'll drink this, you know, drink or scoop this powder
and put it into water, and it's gonna make you stronger, better, faster,
better looking, all those things.

Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
I don't do any of that stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
I know you don't, and you might be on the
cutting edge of the newest research. Check this out, laziness,
check this out, Okay. Protein powders, protein yogurts, protein snack bars,
proteins everywhere, supermarket shelves, social media full of messages to
encourage to eat us.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
To eat more protein.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Right but now, new review over three hundred and fifty
studies suggests that eating less protein may be linked to
healthier aging by slowing down the biological process of aging
in cells.

Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
I look so good these messages.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
And can sometimes feel confusing about how much protein you
should eat. But they're saying that this data that they
saw suggests that these people who are overdoing the protein
are actually forcing their body and their cells within their
body to age faster than those who take in a
lighter protein diet.

Speaker 4 (01:03:29):
I'm sure, I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:03:30):
Well, you know what we should do is compare pictures
of me at forty to you at forty and just
see see how they look. I promise you we're going
to question science.

Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
I've said this our whole time knowing each other, and
I mean it when I say you're the most photogenetic
person I've ever met. You're aging like a fine wine.
I look like a wrungout sponge. At forty, I looked
like they found me in Egypt underground. It's time to
pruves into the weakends. You can't appear. When I'm in
San Diego, I'm always hanging.

Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
Out with Big Rich TD and Big Rich TD and
flesh present bar card Friday.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Now, let's pour some drinks.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
Let's pour some drinks.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Indeed, it's a Barkart Friday, brought to you by keg
and Bottle, ten locations all throughout San Diego. And we
got Tony Kanja live on microphone in studio. Good morning, Tony,
good morning, good morning here and the operator of Keg
and Bottle. Great to have you as always. And you
brought with you a bucket, a bucket.

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
You know, I was like International Beer Day San Diego,
Keggan Bottle style.

Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
Good.

Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
So you bought you brought three hundred beers.

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
You know. Oh man, there's so much in it's crazy.
I'm just going I'm just going to a bunch and
just starting rattling off name.

Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Look at this. We've got Specifico.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
We we had it pay homage, sir, Mexican neighbors.

Speaker 4 (01:04:58):
We've got Guinness.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
This one is called la fin dumont lament.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
It means the the the hands of.

Speaker 4 (01:05:07):
The world close. I think it's close.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
The end of the world. Whoa unbelievable man, I thought
it Man forty eight ouncer that thinks it's a big.

Speaker 4 (01:05:17):
Boy, that is a big bob. We'll give you a
little story.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
I mean, back in the day, we had fifteen hundred
different international beers. So we were well known for me
one of the best beer houses in town. But with
the Sandi beer craze, that all kind of went away
and it all became San Diego Craft.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Yeah, but it's making a resurgence, which you just pulled
one out there, Rich San Diego Craft.

Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
Sandio Craft.

Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
We got a salted Crewe from Cornatto Brewing Company because
that's that's kind of been my go to beer.

Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
We've had him in studio. Oh yeah, that's right. It
was his named Rick Smith. No close, Rick Smith, Rick
of the world, rich of the world. Yeah, I'll think
of his last name, great Rick. Yes, yeah, yes, that's
the one.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
Oh man, we have a we have a San my
San Miguel, Oh Sam Miguel.

Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
Is that another Mexican beer?

Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
No, no, no, that's tie. I believe in the bottom
right corner where you're.

Speaker 4 (01:06:09):
Wow, this is international.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
What in the world It says premium beer. It is
a premium beer, which is good to know. How this
is a tie beer. This is a Singa Singh Singha Singh. Man.

Speaker 5 (01:06:22):
I'm glad that's you trying to say these are not me.
I would I would absolutely dis say beer Moretti beer
Moretti Italian. Okay, we got Italian.

Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
Since the kids are in Italy right now, you know,
yeah for them.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
The kids.

Speaker 5 (01:06:35):
The kids are in Italy, the kids, the kids being
Fletch and his wife. Actually, I don't even know if
they're in Italy. Did they go to Italy? I know
they went to France and they're eating Italian food. Yeah,
a pizza port brewing company.

Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
Yeah, yeah, we did some local favorite, got.

Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
The mango double ip a like that.

Speaker 5 (01:06:51):
I like that, man, So you you used to you
said he used to have fifteen hundred different beers at
KEG and I still do.

Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
But they were probably merrily Belgian and international beers man
back in the day, and now they're you know, mostly
San Diego craft beer.

Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
When I'm parched and I'm in Seoul, I reach for
kieran ikeba. Oh damn it is this is this Korean?

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
Yeah, okay, it is very good, dude. When you go
get sushi, you do a little here or sporo, and
it's a good way to go.

Speaker 5 (01:07:26):
There's legit, ten different beers in front of Rich right now,
and there's still a bucket a bucket for we haven't even.

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Gotten close to the bottom, but we are spanning the globe.

Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
Pills there or cal Now you said that one right?

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Well is this way?

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
This was German?

Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
That's check?

Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Oh check? And that was one that's the original buttweizer.

Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
All right, that's crazy, that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
We have Japanese beer, tie beer, Belgian beer. We've got
what is it? Would you say? This one was again
check beer?

Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Belgian beer made in Canada. So that's Canadian beer. Oh
and this is Japanese beer made in the USA. This
kieran ichban. We've got beer Moretti. That's Italian.

Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
We've got, of course, good old us of A with
the Coordinato Brewinco and Pete Sapport. We got Ireland represented
with Guinness. We've got Mexico represented with Pacifico.

Speaker 5 (01:08:20):
My god, man, so you have I mean there's ten
keg and bottle locations all around San Diego County.

Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
Do all ten locations have this many beers?

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Oh? Yeah, that's you specialize in very nice.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
We'll get that nice.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Get that? Can you say?

Speaker 4 (01:08:32):
Can you say this one?

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
Should I mess with you?

Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
That says? Why? Some Heina?

Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
That's close? When Stefana? Why is that Austrian?

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
German? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
German?

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Damn it man?

Speaker 5 (01:08:45):
I haven't gotten to one right, We're gonna sing one
right when you start tasting.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
Well, I'll tell you what we're We don't have enough show.
We're gonna have to We're gonna have to crack open
a lot of beers and drink them really quickly to
say thank you Santa, Tony, thank you. It's a Barker Friday,
Big Rich td of Flatt. It's a barkar Friday, one
on one, five kgb and we have an array of

(01:09:16):
beers in front of me right now and a bucket
to my left. Thank you, Tony Kanja, owner and operator
of Keg and Bottle. They're all stacked in front of
you like you just opened up a present on Christmas morning.

Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Look on a face that's like Christmas. We haven't cracked
one open yet. You're just staring at him in alle. Okay,
I'm gonna move my hand.

Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
You tell me when it's up. I got the cure
and each bottle.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
Along across the studio.

Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
What it's up?

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
It's again? All right, Tony, your turn, man, it's a scene.
I'm drinking the We're in Premium lagger found at all
ten locations of Keg and Bottle, all throughout the county.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
Don't don't mind the nose thrown.

Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
The guinness is.

Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Open and that screwed it all over.

Speaker 1 (01:10:13):
That's fine. Just one smells good, Hey, buddy, cheers This
one smells good too. Cheers cheers across the room with
the cure and Ichiba. International Beer Day tomorrow. Let's give
this a sin. It's International Beer Day. Eve.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
Very refreshing.

Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
This is this is tasty, is all get out. Holy smokes,
it's crisp, it's clean. So kuran Itchiban, Uh, that I
think is Japanese. It might be Korean, but that's that's
made in the USA. If you look at the bottom
of the can, turn it upside down. Oh no, it's

(01:10:52):
a product of the US.

Speaker 5 (01:10:53):
Oh yeah, So I don't know what that means, but
it's made here and it's just made with the the
same And what does it taste like?

Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
Like ninjas?

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
It's good, you know, it's uh it tastes like a
a beer. Yeah, but it's a it's a it's a
very crisp, refreshing almost that Coors light kind of a
you know that Logger sessionable, Tony, how would you describe
a taie beer?

Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
The singh ha, So the Singha has given me an
essence of Mexican beer. Oh whoa, yeah, yeah, like I'm getting,
you know, like a Lagger style Corona Na Medello style beer.

Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
Holy smokes. The Guinness, I feel like, is perfectly suited
for how I start my day. I at four point
thirty in the morning, porta bowl of Lucky Charms. So
I so I they were left out last night because
that's what my son's Sebastian had for dinner. And I'm
it's sitting there on the cutting board in the kitchen.
I'm like, that probably sounds pretty good right now. And

(01:11:55):
then you hit me with a Guinness. I might finish
this day with some soda read and some corned beef
and just call it Saint Patty's perfect. I'm really living
my bag.

Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
I like Guinness. It's you know, people it's underrated. People
think it's dark and heavy, and yeah it's an easy
drinking logger. Dude.

Speaker 5 (01:12:11):
Yeah, I am not a Guinness fan, So I'm happy
he cracked that one.

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
Hoping you do that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
And I'm telling you, though, if you drink.

Speaker 5 (01:12:17):
Them, no, you just change well yeah, I mean if
I drink anything by the second or third I changed
my mind.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
I think we should give TV like three or four
guinnesses right now. Yeah, you know what happened? Nothing?

Speaker 5 (01:12:30):
Nothing coolsy down on a hot day like pounding a
few Guinness. It's just a couple of stouts. No, Honestly,
I agree with Tony.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
I would say that one of the misnumbers about Guinness
is it's going to be like this heavy, like you're
gonna have a meal in a bottle.

Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
But it is a lighter stout. It's a lighter stouts,
easy drinking. I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
Yeah, Well pound for FIFA.

Speaker 5 (01:12:50):
That's how I feel about the the kiran Ichi bond.
One of these what twenty ounce cans? Nineteen point two?
That's the new hot size.

Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
If you notice all those cans I brought you there on.

Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
Two nineteen two.

Speaker 5 (01:13:02):
Wow, it's a weird number, it is. Does it translate
to something else overseas?

Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
No, it's just been the cool size because you know,
twelve ounces is too small, twenty four ounces a little
too big.

Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Gets warm.

Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
Yeah, nineteen two is the way to go. That makes
a lot of sense all of a sudden.

Speaker 5 (01:13:18):
All right, this one, I'm I'm drinking by the pool,
I'm loading up the boat with these ice down.

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
Come on like.

Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
I like the way you think, I like the way
you talk.

Speaker 1 (01:13:27):
I like everything about it. It is an International Beer
Day eve here on a bar card Friday, brought to
you by Keg and Bottle. By the way, you can
get this delivered to your front door at Keg the
Letternbottle dot Com. Any of the beers we try today
so far here in Echaban, a little singh ha from
Thailand and Againness, we're gonna be cracking open. More beers

(01:13:47):
coming up next. This is the best day of my life.
The bigger at Citia Fletch what five KGB one O.

Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
One five kgb trending with TD Well.

Speaker 5 (01:13:59):
The NFL Hall of Fame game was last night. He
had the Carolina Panthers against the Arizona Cardinals, and the
audience was pulled for the best part of the broadcast,
people asking you know, what did you like most about it?

Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
What should we change? What should we do different?

Speaker 5 (01:14:14):
Mike Tomlin's debut on TV was the highest rated.

Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
Portion of the game. Yep, no question, no question about it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
So Mike Tomlin, former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Tony Kanja joining
us Keg and Bottle on a bark car Friday, Tony,
did you watch any of the game? I did not, Okay,
so I turned it on just for the second half,
and that was the portion where Tomlin jumped on the microphone.
Former head coach he coached last year announced his retirement
from the NFL. I guess he did some pregame as well.

(01:14:43):
I didn't see either. I didn't see it. I can
promise you though, from what I saw the interview that
he did in the booth with Chris Collinsworth and Mike Turrico,
he was fabulous.

Speaker 4 (01:14:55):
He sounded concise and fun and entered.

Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
Jetic and enthusiastic and smart and witty. I mean, he's
gonna be a huge addition to NBC's broadcasting. Man.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Do you think they break off a check and he
stays a broadcast professional or does he go back to football.

Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
There's a lot of football left in Mike Tomlin. He's
a young guy in the coaching game, you know, he's not.
I don't even know if he's in his mid sixties yet.
I think if he might be sixty two, I mean
we we'd have to look up his age.

Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
You think it's I mean, you being in the industry,
you think it's a funner job of a coach or
be up in the booth.

Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
Uh, It depends on your personality.

Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
For me, it would be a broadcaster. But it's just
because of the stress. Being a coach is so stressful.
You got to worry about your roster. I mean, you know,
as a business owner, the business ever sleeps. Yep, Well,
neither does coaching. You're you're worried about everything. All that
tenant's your neck on the line. It's exactly right, even
it's not your fault.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
It's your neck at the line at the end of
the day. So it's nothing's guaranteed in that position, right.

Speaker 5 (01:15:58):
And I know Tom Brady has the name, I understand,
one of the greatest athletes of all time. But man,
Mike Tomlin gave me that that Pat McAfee kind of energy,
you know, where I just I just want to hang
out with him.

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
Yeah, yeah, see what he's going to stay now?

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
Yeah, it was great.

Speaker 5 (01:16:11):
I look forward to more of that staying with the
NFL here justin Herbert and Madison Beer they announced their engagement.
I think it was last week, last Tuesday maybe, and
then earlier this week they were out of training camp.
Just having a picnic out on the field while people
did drills around him. Madison Beer showing off her It
sounds like I'm making that up. I'm not showed off

(01:16:31):
her wedding ring or her engagement ring.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
Rather well, did you see the post where he's got
her on, you know, he's holding her over his shoulder. No, no,
that was I think how the announcement that was the
post I saw?

Speaker 5 (01:16:40):
Well, well, the engagement ring. Just a million dollars, dude,
I mean, what's the rule? Three years?

Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
Imagine if it was a third of a single year's
pay for Justin Herbert, because that's what it's like, a
third of your annual salary is what you spent on engage,
right right, like so whatever that is like four months,
four months of your your salary.

Speaker 4 (01:17:04):
Well once even get paid forty million dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
Yeah, yeah, I said, just cheap, just ten million, just
ten million. So yeah, he did really really skate by
here on a million dollars.

Speaker 4 (01:17:16):
Man oh man.

Speaker 5 (01:17:16):
And tomorrow is International Beer Day and Sandy Aggan's everywhere
are rushing to any of the ten keke and bottle
locations all throughout Sandygo County to grab their favorite bruskie.

Speaker 1 (01:17:27):
Maybe you want to get your hands on a wis
and stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
In high oot?

Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
Is that what we're having right now?

Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
When's the fun?

Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
You're poured it in a glass like I'm like, I'm
at a restaurant.

Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
This is a German helf, okay, right, and so it's
got the bases of wheat beer.

Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
It's got a hell of my nose.

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
Sometimes called a wit but yeah, it's I don't know.
I like these. You can't drink a ton of them
for me, it makes me feel unfloaded. But the taste
is spectacle.

Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
This this is way different. So I've had this before
because I used to go to h I realized that
where I had it.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
I used to go to a German restaurant in Germany.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
No, in Pennsylvania because a lot of Dutch live in Pennsylvania. Right, Yeah,
you have Pennsylvania Dutch out there and they serve this
and spottan spottan spot. There was a beer called the
Optimator from Spotting that I used a bunch of. That's
a really good one as well. They're really good. And
now I go to this place where I've been once,
I should say, in Ocean Beach. It's a German brew

(01:18:29):
house where you could get schnitzel and all this German
fair and they they serve uh was.

Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Again wine, stefinal win wind stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
That's a good one. The movie three, I think, was
also about spotting. Yeah, that's true. The spotans there. Yeah,
there are three hundred spots. They faced the Persians at
the in the Battle of Thermopoli. Actually at the Yeah,
it was the the Gates of Hell. There's so much knowledge.
It's insane.

Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
It's actually it's it's do it's yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
I think being hit in the head a bunch of times,
did you go right?

Speaker 1 (01:19:03):
I also can speak fluent Japanese. That's not true, but
we will be opening a Japanese beer on International Beer
Day eve on a bark our Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
That's next.

Speaker 1 (01:19:14):
It's just a tip with Big writch Ah, Yes it is.
It's just a tip with Big Rich. A little advice.
I like to slide out your way to yours for
the taking. If you want it, if not, send it
back this way, no harm, no foul.

Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
And today's advice is pretty simple.

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
Get over to a keg and bottle here in San Diego,
ten locations all throughout our fair County and get your
hands on some beer because tomorrow it's International Beer Day.
And right here in front of me, I got it.
I got got a little San Diego Mission Brewing. Here
we go, and this is a a shipwrecked double. I

(01:19:52):
p A.

Speaker 4 (01:19:55):
Nine point two percent?

Speaker 1 (01:19:56):
Is that what? I nine point two five? You that
point two nail the abb that's good. I'll tell you
right now. If you drink an entire nineteen point two ounce,
that's all you need for the week.

Speaker 5 (01:20:07):
Yeah, that's a that's that does a body good or
something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
I think that's I think that's San Diego beer, so
you know, yeah, that's why I had it. Even though
it's international, we're part of that international.

Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
But it's got a it's got a pirate logo on there. Yeah.
First of all, the front you got the little nautical
star behind, you know, kind of in the inlay. On
the can, you got the the little uh jolly Roger
wearing the pirate's cap with the eye patch missing a tooth.
Of course, I'm gonna tell you right now, if I
finished this can, I'm sleeping here. Yes, perfect. This is

(01:20:41):
also the fourth beer you've opened.

Speaker 4 (01:20:43):
This is a shockingly smooth double.

Speaker 6 (01:20:46):
I p A.

Speaker 1 (01:20:46):
What's amazing about this is I mean, this should hit
you like a hammer, and I mean I this this
is like dainty, it's it's tasty, and.

Speaker 4 (01:20:57):
With the pirate I feel like it goes international and Internet.
That's a good point where there are no rules.

Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
All right, I'm gonna just crack open another one.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
I think they say no rules just right.

Speaker 1 (01:21:06):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:21:07):
That's just like a steakhouse.

Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
I what's this one? What'd you just crack open? What
got me?

Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
How did you.

Speaker 4 (01:21:14):
Spray it all over your face? Swam showering in the
bath of the steve?

Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
You know how I get?

Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
Man? Oh, this is the Pizza Port.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
Oh, this is the Pizza Port Double.

Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
I pa.

Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
It's the Mango double I pa from Pizza Port Brewing Company.

Speaker 4 (01:21:33):
Two things about Pizza Port.

Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
One, awesome place to have some pizza, so it's not
just a clever name.

Speaker 4 (01:21:39):
They serve good pizza, great place for beer.

Speaker 1 (01:21:42):
But the other thing I love about it, it's like
picnic tables with benches. So you go to any of
these Pizza ports, you have a big crowd. I mean
you throw the kids at one end of the table,
you go to your other side of the table.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
Everybody eats pizza. The adults have a good time because
the kids are.

Speaker 1 (01:21:56):
Over there, going yourself a double Iba without the nuisance
of having a you know, eleven year old or an
eight year old being like dad, crazy Dad.

Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
Yeah, I feel like I feel like this is experience.

Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
What we think about that?

Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
Whoa, what's your number one so far?

Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Probably bucket, the bucket, the bucket, which is still with beer.

Speaker 9 (01:22:22):
So much like bucket. I love how I don't even
call the bucket. It's just budget bucket, bucket, bucket. Yeah,
that's cool. That's really cool. On International Beer Day. It's
not by any keg and Bot location. There are ten
of them all around San Diego County. And you know what,
maybe you're listening on the free Heart radio app and
you're in Santa Barbara.

Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
Don't worry.

Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
There's one there soon to be soon to be Michigan
over an Ana Archians opening next week.

Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
You've got a couple in Chicago. Oh gosh, They're everywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
And if you don't have this in your neck of
the woods, the beers will ship them right to your door.

Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
That's right. If you want a Mango double I p
A and you live in Saskatchewan, dude, Actually I'm not
sure if that's true.

Speaker 4 (01:22:58):
You guys delivered to.

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Canada, not Canada. Damn it. Never mind.

Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Sorry, sorry Hawaii.

Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
If you live on South Paolo Island and you want
a mission brewing company a shipwreck double I p A.
We got you, right, ton we got you. Oh my gosh.
It is International Beer Day Eve and we are beering
internationally today. It may have been overserved. No, I'm just

(01:23:29):
I just, I mean, we're like, we're like, we're like
four and forty minutes the bucket.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
The reason you're overserved because you kept serving yourself your
bucket and you drink and you drink. Listen, listen, all
I know that licensed can't do that, Finn Dumont.

Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
Is that a French beer that happen?

Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
You have to do?

Speaker 1 (01:23:54):
Lets Tony do this.

Speaker 4 (01:23:55):
This just got like a champagne cork.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Champagne cork uh is Canadian from the brew brewing company,
and but it's a Belgian style and look at this
and pop in the champagne.

Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Wow across the room.

Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
And so this is a big, big oh.

Speaker 4 (01:24:14):
I guess well, I'll finish my glass here.

Speaker 1 (01:24:18):
This is perfect, Tony. I love Friday so much because
of you.

Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
By the way, one of my guys is on vacation
this week some covering for him, so I had to
get the cover to the cover to the cover to
cover so I could be here for yeah, because I
love Friday's.

Speaker 5 (01:24:36):
Wow, this is this is really good.

Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
We this is a Canadian Canadian beer the end of
the world. By the way, you guys don't have the
bottle in front of you. So what's the alcohol content?
Hang on, it doesn't feel like it's that high to me.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
Are usually three percent.

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
Yeah, but I guess that's it's hot. I'm got a
nine percent. You're asking me because it's high. It's very high, right, right,
that's the clue. It's very high.

Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
I'm gonna I'm gonna say it's I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
But say what it's seven.

Speaker 3 (01:25:13):
Say what it tastes like.

Speaker 4 (01:25:15):
Because that's it tastes like it's a three or four.

Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
I would say it tastes me. I'm naming it where
I think it should be. I'm gonna say it tastes
me like the similar strength of like a normal I
p a so like a seven percent ABV maybe me
too many?

Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
No, to me, it tastes like a four or five.

Speaker 1 (01:25:29):
Yeah, I do all the time. It's pretty smooth.

Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
It's a nine.

Speaker 4 (01:25:33):
No way, Yeah that heavy, that'll do it.

Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
Just taste delicious.

Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
Oh dude, like the end of the world.

Speaker 4 (01:25:42):
That's a good point. That's a good point.

Speaker 1 (01:25:43):
It's coming for us all because AI is making viruses.
Now we talked about that earlier.

Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
Really fun, really fun. Life is gonna get real strange.
So drink more beer.

Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
Keg and Bottle on the bar card Friday, big Rich
TD and fletch h Lafindmond of course, a you to Brown.
I'm very uh is that what this brewer is called? Brow?
But you know, available at any Keg and Bottle location
or keg the letter in bottle dot com. So that website,

(01:26:12):
by the way, I was just uh, I go, I
go on your website every week when you come in,
and you guys do such a good job changing things
to like the times and so a lot of tequilas
are being prominently displayed. But also you have these soccer
ball tequilas which are so impressive, hard to come by,
by the way, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
It's still available. Yeah, it's a little FIFA action. And
then also the nineteen forty two FIFA Oh yeah, this
special release cake and Bottle exclusive not exclusive, but you
can only get at my website. Cool Bottle is also
hard to come by. But we've done this is fantastic. Well,

(01:26:50):

Day Eve. Today we've to work. We wrapped up a week.
Yeah you're gonna have to work.

Speaker 1 (01:27:03):
What do you call it? Gave away Santana tickets and
they're playing with the Doobie Brothers give you one thousand
dollars every hour the potential winners, and of course enjoyed
bark Our Friday here with Keg and Bottle and Tony Kanja.
So man, I guess there's nothing else to do but
to say goodbye, good bye. We got We've got big
things happening next week.

Speaker 4 (01:27:23):
Make sure tune in Big rit Citi fletch out.

Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
It's so berner by bye.

Speaker 4 (01:27:51):
See later.

Speaker 8 (01:27:52):

Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
Oh, somebody lost this kayak
