Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up sell? How are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
What's all your headphones?

Speaker 3 (00:02):
Man?

Speaker 4 (00:03):
Man, I just don't feel right, don't feel right. And
I noticed it's crazy. When you come into a place enough,
I'll put the headphones on. And so it was like,
these aren't the normal headphones. These are different. I looked
and then David and said, no, they're not the normal headphones.

Speaker 5 (00:16):
Dave's broke was like last year sometime some like it
had like one year off.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I have a photo.

Speaker 5 (00:22):
I almost changed it to your profile photo for when
you call me, but I had this photo of you
with like the dangling headphone ear and you're just smiling.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I think we turned I think we turned that in
to get fixed. We did, and I'm expecting I'm expecting
an answer here pretty soon.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
When when was this?

Speaker 5 (00:40):
I mean, like I looked through my photos, but it
was easily last year, like summertime.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
I think, listen, you know, let's not be impatient about this, right,
you know what I mean? I figured like by it
was last summer, So this is this summer. I think
by the end of the year, which would be like
eighteen months, I think the work order at that point
we should be pretty much answered and good to go.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
It makes sense. Good. Yeah, good to see you, guys.
I was good to see you too.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
You say, like, you know, twenty thirty, I think, you know,
start the next decade. But it was so much fun.
This weekend obviously a great sports weekend. You got the Masters,
you got the NBA sort of wrapping things up. Do
you hockey, by the way, congregate the eleven eleven champions When.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
They scored in the third period, I think they had
five I know, tough Wisconsin guy, five shots on goal
when they first scored to tie it at one.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
I was watching it atview House and my heart got
broken at the same time, and you know, congratulations to
do you.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
It was a hell of a game.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
And that right there the shows you're never out of
it until the clock goes to zero because they got
outshot well double, you know, two to one.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
They got doubled up against Michigan two. Michigan had I
think fifty six shots on goal and d you finished
with twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Except do you finish with the wind?

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah, So it's not about how many shots you get,
it's about how many shots.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You can make.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
To you, as Johnny Hicks and you guys, don't I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
You can't say you guys like I played hockey like
I am. I'm a Wisconsin guy, don't get me wrong,
but you see me out here, I talk Nuggets and
Rockies and all this other stuff. So I'm a different
guy too, So congress it to you.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
It's it's so hard, it's hard. It's hard.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
I was wondering if you were going to come in
like in a jersey or something like that. You know,
read Wisconsin. I am Milwaukee. But you know nobody's paying
attention to them. By the way, doctor Rivers cow who
told you?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Well, I say, but I don't think anybody from Milwaukee
or from Wisconsin, or anyone that supports the Bucks are surprised.
I think the sentiment I've heard, and it's not necessarily
what I think, but the sentiment I've heard is this
a year too late. And now if you look at
that team, it's hard to find positives other than the honest.

(03:01):
And Giannis is already one foot out the door. So
you already traded all your assets. And so now obviously,
if you are going to trade gi honest, if you
are going to trade couzmane, if you're going to trade
these guys, it's not necessarily about trying to be competitive anymore. Now,
it's just about getting assets so that you can start rebuilding.
And as we all know, that's what rebuilds can take,

(03:22):
five six, seven, eight, nine, ten years.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
So it must be really miserable for the Bucks because
usually in a season in the East of thirty two
and fifty record to actually get you into the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
What are we talking about? Oh my, are you really
about to sit here and act like I'm all right?

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I can't help it? Man saying you want the championship?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Bless room, Well, the ol glaovea city thunder in the
year before.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
The Celtics. Celtics, Yeah, the East.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
And then and then it was the Nuggets before then,
and then it was the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So it's been pretty even, has it not? Okay? All right,
so I guess this year is the battle of the
East versus West.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
I say you're coming in with the I was like, oh,
you're celebrating the end of the season.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Coming with no clothes on because I just grabbed this
shirt and put it on. Now I vote, know, I'm that.
I mean, I just get a vote my voice?

Speaker 1 (04:12):
No, all right?

Speaker 5 (04:14):
That that carries a lot of weight for me too,
So please, Well, if I.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Can't wear this, you can't wear flannels, So what are
we going to do?

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I vote knowing that too.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
I don't have enough clothes. Okay, I feel fair enough.
Rory repeats fourth player ever to repeat the Masters?

Speaker 1 (04:32):
You usually watching it that day I did. It was fun.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's just amazing how how great
those guys are, you know. I mean, it's just they
hit some shots. It's like they're just unbelievably gifted golfers.
And there's a whole bunch of them. But he was
I mean, listen, he he had I think a six
shot lead after Friday, and so you thought maybe he'd

(05:00):
kind of coast and then tried to give it back Saturday,
and then tried to give it all back Sunday. In fact,
did give it back, but to his credit, was able
to kind of right the ship. And and he played,
you know, from from whole eight yesterday.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
He was he was pretty damn good. Well on the
eighteenth holes, you couldn't even find the ball.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
That was ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
And I think that for a guy who, you know,
I grew up watching golf, believe it or not, my
grandma watches golf, my mom watches tennis, and so I
watched like all these these auxiliary sports, as you could say, yeah,
and it's it's interesting though, and the most important hole
of the whole masters you can't find the ball and

(05:44):
it's literally like no one knows where it is. And
then that right there is like you're losing so much
juice from that. Like everyone's like, all right, like how
do you not find the ball in this situation? And
as at very begin our golf for myself, if I
was in that situation, the whole point they always tell

(06:05):
you is keep your head down. Other people will fuck
the ball. That was obviously not true at that moment.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Yeah, it was one of the most dramatic moments in
the entire tournament. He hits his drive into the trees
on eighteen, and his approach, which which seemed to clear
the trees, just gonna get right because he hit it
so far right, he's able to go around, and the
CBS goes to the shot and nobody's got the ball.
And then they did the same thing with Cam Young too,
his approach. They just got the shot. We're all looking,

(06:32):
We're like, where this is the most dramatic moment in
the entire tournament.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Did he just hit a bounds? Where is that?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
That was not the first time CBS kind of cutaway
or failed to in this case follow the leader. Did
he not have a I'm trying to think of what
hole it was. They got to it a little bit later,
but it was a replay. I mean, I mean, most

(07:00):
most of the majors, especially on Sunday, you're never leaving
the leader. I mean, the leader is going to have
every single he's going to be live every single one
of his sixty seven, sixty eight whatever.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Shots of the day. But I mean CBS did that
like twice they missed. I don't know, that was very weird.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
This isn't It's crazy that we just said sixty eight shots.
For me, it's like one hundred. And I think that
that's the difference between these guys and the average Joe's
that we all that we all consider ourselves when we
go on the golf course.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
And but they also don't line up as a three
tech and try to dislodge the guard either.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, but they also don't practice that either. I at
least practice golf if you once in a while, and.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I'm Rory may get down to the three point. I
would love to see that one day. I would love.
I would love and.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
I've always said this, I would always love to see
guys from different sports have to go try to compete
in a different sport. Everyone can start to really get
an appreciation or how hard everyone else's sports really are.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
There's actually some controversy coming off the Rory McElroy win.
I don't know if you saw, but I guess he
played that course played Augusta for like two.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Three weeks before practice.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
He practiced it for like two to three weeks, so
he basically just stopped playing other tournaments and went straight
to Augusta and played it over and over and over again.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
And so some people I was even leg though he's.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
A lifetime member now, so he won the green jacket.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
It is legal, but there are some and I think
this is a little bit of a reach, but they're
not out there saying it's an unfair advantage because not
everybody else is a lifetime member, So some of the
other golfers that are going to be obviously competing, they
don't get the same allotted opportunity to practice the course
for three weeks and even after the route said oh yeah,
it absolutely helped me. He's like, I knew exactly where

(08:52):
even if I was in a bad spot, I knew
where I could hit it and be okay from everywhere
on the course. And I did that for three weeks,
and so it's like, I don't think it's that big
of a deal, but I also could see where it's like, hey,
if you're somebody that doesn't have that, that you show
up and you've got to play on Thursday, or maybe
you had a practice round of that week, it's not

(09:13):
the same.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
It's just not Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Know if I mean, I don't know if they'll do
anything about that, if the PGA will come up with
some sort of rule.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I mean, the holes are moved right, the conditions at
times we've seen can be can be challenging, So I
don't know. I mean, every other champion could do exactly
the same thing if if he wanted to.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I never really thought about.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
I suppose the more familiar are you are with course,
you know, the more comfortable you would be.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Well, I've said this before, and I've always wondered this before,
is why haven't more people done that, and and the
situation where obviously, you know, this year is actually where
I learned about all the perks that you get when
you win the Masters, and includes the lifetime and being

(10:09):
able to go golf there. My favorite thing was you
need to choose the menu, and I think that.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Was actually pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
But you know, I think obviously it's something that's wanting
to go. It's want to be talked about going into
next year about is this not let's say legal, but
is it ethical or is it fair to everybody else
that you get all these practice rounds for three weeks
leading up into this tournament, and that makes it pretty
much a home It's like a home field advantage. And

(10:35):
I just believe that he did nothing wrong. If you
had every if it's just from the rules and you
got a perk from winning last year, use it. And
he's not in a position where he has to play
every tournament, that's right. So he went and prepared for
this one.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Anyways, a lot of fun, a lot of drama, especially
on the eighteenth. I actually thought he gave it away
early on when he had the double bogie on three
and then but he he clawed back and justin Rose
is fun to watch too. There's a lot of really
good golfers at the top the leader board on Sunday, yesterday,
the Nuggets before we get to Ian rapport here at
the bottom of the hour, the Nuggets now know they're
going to be playing the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, it was

(11:16):
so interesting day because Friday night when Friday night and
Sunday night games and the Nuggets opted for health, right,
they opted to sit their starters down to Kola Yokich
course played yesterday because he needed to qualify with the
sixty five games, but otherwise they sat all of their
starters and they ended up winning both games. Yeah, it's
an interesting spot too because on one hand, it was

(11:38):
not guaranteed they were gonna get the three, like until
yesterday really because the Laker was gonna beat Utah. If
the Nuggets would have lost to the Spurs, they were
the four.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, I couldn't. I think the reason they.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
I mean the reason that they beat they played Oak City,
they played Portland, and then they end up with the
San Antonio right. The reason they beat Oak City was
as much as I mean, the Nuggets rested everybody sold
at Oklahoma City, so it was just you know, our

(12:11):
set of i'll just call them new guys just happened
to play better than your set of new guys. Portland
is actually a pretty good game. Portland jumped out and
give the Nuggets credit. You know, they they battle back,
but they played, They played all their guys there. Last
night was was crazy as I getting ready to sit

(12:32):
down and watch the game. The I mean, I thought, Okay,
the Nuggets they don't want to be four, do they do?
They want the Rockets instead of the Timberwolves. And if
they're four, then they would conceivably get Oklahoma City in
the second round and have to beat both Oklahoma City

(12:54):
and again, if it's Chalk the wins, san Antonio, you
got to beat them both.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
You have to beat them both anyway, if the Chuck wins.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
So yeah, I couldn't and I couldn't understand, really, san Antonio.
If san Antonio didn't want to see the Nuggets in
the second round, that's what I think they were trying
to do. San Antonio played most of the most of
their guys. Women and Yama didn't play, but they played
all the other guys. Nuggets just we were better. They

(13:27):
shot it better. San Antonio couldn't knock down shots. I
would say this the kid from CSU, David Roy Roddy.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
And I know it's one game. I'm just telling you.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I've always thought you need a guy on your team
if you can get a guy like that that is
rooster strong. He's skilled enough, he can shoot the ball
pretty well, he'll battle inside. He's not real big, he's
probably six y six. Get a few rebounds. I mean,
I don't know, is Spencer Jones going to be completely healthy?

(14:03):
I would I advocate right now David Roddy, And again,
I don't know if they can bring him up and
he can be on the playoff roster. I'm not sure
in terms of all the rules and regulations. I just
think he brings them some toughness and some really good
basketball acumen and can score a little bit and will
work inside and bang and rebound.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Man, give me that guy. Believe it or not. He's
six four? Is he sixty four? Six four?

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I just looked up he's six four. No, But this
team fifty five and sixty four. You know, come over
here and play d and you know where you're supposed
to be at. But I think the craziest thing and
I think the best thing that happened for the Nuggets is.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
They saw that their guys are still ready.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
The guys that don't necessarily play thirty minutes a game,
you know, every game, they're ready. H Look, Julius Strauther
went out there thirty four minutes, twenty five.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Points, shot the ball really well, shot the ball really well.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
And this is what you want to see going into
the playoffs. Bruce Brown seven for eight, You know what
I mean, Like these like these guys who will end
up eventually having to play a little bit of minutes,
and it gives you a lot more hope if you're
David Albman, because now you can distribute minutes a little
bit throughout the playoffs. You don't just have to go

(15:17):
to a seven man rotation, eight man rotation. You have
guys that really can play. And that's that's very exciting
for this Neuggets team going forward, especially against a Minnesota
Timberwolves team that you know, we all we all know that.
Like we've said before, it's Ryan's favorite team, well second
favorite next to the Thunder.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yeah, and so it's one of his favorites one, it's
one of them, it's one of the favorite knocked that off.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
Right now, I've already said the Nuggets are good where
they're gonna beat Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I feel great about that matchup.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
What do we think the series is gonna go?

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I say Nuggets and six right now.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
I just can't believe you'd actually say that.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
But you can't believe I'm very consistent. You your last
couple of months, You're.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
You're consistently inconsistent.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
You root for Minnesota and Oak City, and you pick
the Nuggets to beat them.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
In six, Nuggets in six.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Okay, listen, I'm good with that. I'm good with it.
But I think back to the point that Shelby was making. Yeah,
I think you you you got some pretty good performances
last night. You know, Tias Jones, is he going to
be a guy that you can count on? He's a
smart basketball player at the point, But then you have
to start thinking, Okay, when you get into a playoff situation.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
All these guys were talking about.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
And as as the coach, if you're David Adam, when
you're like, okay, fellas, so whose minutes do you want
me to take here? You want David Roddy to play
twelve minutes?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (16:48):
So is that Christian Brown. You may take Christian Brown
out of the game, do you, I mean, where does he?
All I'm saying is a body like.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
That and a guy. He's got really good.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Basketball instincts and he is not scared sc art.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
He bangs in there.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
He plays like he's about six'. Eight you, know he's getting.
Rebound he had double ditch rebounds for a six or
four dude because he separates bodies. Inside i'm not advocating
that anything happened to the, starters But i'm just, saying, Man.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
I'd keep that. Dude i'd keep him ready to go
just in.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Case, Well i'd be really interested to, see you, know
A roddy versus A Julius, randall just because of the
Way Julius randall. Plays you really can't try to bully
right like. That he has the, girths he has the.
Size so that's where you could find matchups for him
to find playing. Time but like you, said the who
you're taking the time, from and we all know playoff

(17:50):
time is not the time to really be playing around
and trying to figure out your. Lineup you kind of
want to have that figure out what going into.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
Us it's something that text line pointed out that two
way players cannot play in the, playoffs and SO i
looked at it up and it, says, YES nb a
two way contract players are not eligible for THE nba
playing tournament or the.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Playoffs so that SO i SAID i WOULD i didn't
know the rules and all, That so that just takes.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Care that takes care of.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
That but your point is a great, one because often
times you tend to shrink your bench a little bit
in the.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Playoffs so you're.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
RIGHT i, mean if you're your your top, eight maybe
even top nine, guys you're probably not taking minutes away
from that from a guy that even if you liked
what he saw him the.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Last couple of.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Wins so, yeah, yeah it's it's so is t Is
Tias jones a two way player as well.

Speaker 6 (18:33):
From Iowa state is a two way. Player he shot
the ball, well, Yeah Tias Jones jones two. Way, No,
no he's he's in the middle of the.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Year just as a as a. Body.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yeah and also we saw the, disappearance, yeah a little
bit in the second half of the season of a
backup post. Player you, know when he's had chances to,
play he gives you a big, Body he understands how to.
Play he is a good, passer he'll bang, Inside he's

(19:09):
got a decent. TOUCH i, MEAN i would think there's to,
me there's got to be twelve minutes of action in
basically every single playoff game to give, joker you, know
they were he lost some time When Spencer jones became
the guy that kind of came in and sort of
changed the. Dynamic Spencer, jones you, know good defensive, player tough.

(19:31):
Inside But valanciunis is six' eleven and wide body and
has a. NICE touch i would think he has earned
at least just Watching every, NUGGETS game i would think,
he's earned, you know twelve to fifteen minutes a game in,
the Playoffs starting, game one.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
At least at least because also you could switch them
In With. Aaron gordon you don't want To Run aaron
gordon too the ground at. Least, early yeah you KNOW what,
i mean because that's one guy who is going to
be critical to, your success especially with the way. He
plays he's. The epitome, you know he literally is. Playoff
basketball that's how, he plays diving for diving on the

(20:13):
ground for, loose balls, you know really like setting his
team up in the. Right direction and so that's why
you will need to give him some blows every once in.
A while and you're gonna need jokers. On man you
have the size to. Do it and so that's my.
One thing do Not run Air and gordon into. The
ground you need him if you are seriously thinking of
being a, championship, contender.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Well especially in this.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
MATCHUP too i mean you've Got To, Julius randall you've Got,
nas reeds You Got. Rudy gobert you're gonna need some
of that size against. These Guys, All right we're often
rolling here On, a monday very excited to be here.
With You, Dave logan, Ryan Over. Shelby harris when we
come back, in rapport.

Speaker 1 (20:46):

Speaker 7 (21:02):
Guys doing we're?

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Doing great getting fired up for the draft here in
about a week and, a half, of course has lost
a little bit Of Luster for, Broncos.

Speaker 7 (21:08):
Fans i'm, gonna say does it feel weird a?

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Little?

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Bit man, you know because you're sixty two is their.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
First pick so there's, this like, all, right well let's
get fired up about, the draft knowing that it's gonna
be a very long wait on Even intil friday nights
Before the broncos.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Do, anything yeah it's.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
It's weird, and like, you know for the teams that
you know make these big trades and obviously you know
it was a cool trade and you know you can
chill and waddle the sort of long awaited number. One
receiver it's like that's. All good but then draft that
you're still feeling a, little weird. You know and teams
will always sort of, joke, like oh we're gonna watch, you,
know highlights but think they might because that's the only

(21:46):
way to kind of make you feel better about not having. A,
pick hey You're gonna shelby here us here.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
We are we've been hearing a lot more about the cop,
pick formula about teams really trying to hold on to
all we are more teams playing the compic forma and
the more now, than BEFORE because i feel like for
our listeners Out in denver and, EVERYWHERE else i don't
feel like a lot of people know about what's going
on when it comes to this. Compic, form, look.

Speaker 7 (22:14):
Well first, of all the actual formula is quite. The
mystery SO like i would agree that most people don't
actually don't know what's going on because it's like a very.
STRANGE thing i think the main thing is like if
you lose more than you, bring in then you sort
of get the league kind of makes it up. TO you,
i mean that's that's basically the gist, of, It RIGHT

(22:35):
so i, would say if you're a team that's that
knows you're going to lose some high priced, free agents
well then you, might say you, know what let's just
not bring, in anyone or at least not bring in
anyone Until after may, you, know second or whatever the,
deadline is and then get the compis in, you know
a year. From, now now it takes a while and

(22:58):
it's sort of the, long GAME but i think, we've seen,
you know good teams have success. Doing this you just,
you know obviously you got to make sure to hit on.
The picks and it also kind of takes away the
incidentt gratification of signing a bunch, of guys, you know
during free.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Agency makes a lot, of sense, you know rapping we're.
JOINING us i keep, hearing. RUMORS reports, i mean we'll
never know until it. Actually happens there could be a lot,
of movement a lot, of trades AND and i sometimes
feel like this is always about that time of year
when there's a lot of things being planted. Out there
are you hearing anything about this? Specific draft and maybe

(23:35):
in part because of the perceived level of talent after
the top, ten picks maybe a lot. Of, trades, YEAH.

Speaker 7 (23:41):
See i haven't heard that there's going to be a lot.
OF trades i MEAN maybe i think a lot. Of teams,
you know what does happen is a lot of teams
want to. Trade out and, YOU know i certainly expect
that to be. The case is, you know you get
to like the back half of the. FIRST round i
think there's going to be a bunch.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
OF teams i.

Speaker 7 (23:57):
Want, to say you, know WHAT if i could just
bail and and take some second, round picks You know i'll.
Take them so but, you know there has to be
someone willing to, come up it's like which player is
good enough where, YOU'RE like i have to trade up? For,
him so, YOU know i think it's sort of easy, to, say,
like hey it's going to be a lot, Of trades

(24:17):
BUT what i think people don't always remember is like
to do, a trade there has to be two people
who want to. Do IT but i, do think, you know,
there's like, YOU know, i mean the weight it's going
to be Weird for, broncos fans but is a year
where there aren't a ton of like true first rounders
and probably not, a great. Great draft so, you know

(24:39):
if you're going to trade a, first round it's not
actually a bad year to, do it especially when you
get the, you know guaranteed really good player in.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Jail and model, you uh you might have just sort
of answered the QUESTION because i think most people you
you just, mentioned it we all have heard the. Same
thing might not be the, deepest draft might not be the.
Greatest draft and so are we going to see more
teams because, of that trading out of first, round possibilities
trying to trade back or even, you know multiple picks

(25:11):
doing something.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
With THOSE and i think.

Speaker 7 (25:14):
You know teams, will try but, it's like, YOU know
i think everybody would like to acquire twenty twenty. SEVEN
picks i mean that draft seems to be one that's,
really good and so, it's like, all, right, well great
let's get picks for.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Next year but then.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
There has to be someone willing to give that. Up
TOO so i, just think, you know you can. DO it,
i mean you can definitely come up with a trade
if you, Want to but really what you have to
figure out is like how badly do you want to
trade and what do you, you know are you willing to
take a bad deal just to load up on picks
for twenty. TWENTY seven i think that's kind of the
most to me interesting issue because, you know next year's

(25:51):
draft is supposed to be really good and everyone knows
that and we've all been talking. About it so it
does sort of heighten the, awareness of, you know. Possible.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Trades uh going.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Back obviously we've been talking about teams trading out or trading.
Back in one of those players that teams might want
to trade back in for Is. Ty simpson and so
what have you been hearing about the Interest In? Tys
simpson because if you look at the bottom OF the.
Nfl drift most of those teams don't need, a quarterback
so it would have to be a trade situation for

(26:23):
him to go to the bottom of The first what
have you been Hearing About ty simpson about where he could?

Speaker 7 (26:29):
Possibly, GO yeah I mean i think if he goes
in the, first round it would be in that scenario where,
a team, You know arizona still needs a franchise quarterback
obviously got Rid. Of kyler, you know could they trade
up back into the first round from the second round,
and go you, Know what i'm Just gonna i'm just
gonna get. My guy Could the jets?

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Do it jets for?

Speaker 7 (26:51):
Thirty three, you know Could the jets? DO it i
think that certainly. That's possible but that's, you know that's
probably what we're thinking for, you Know For. TY simmson,
I mean i don't, YOU know, i Know the rams
don't have a franchise Quarterback After. MATTHEW stafford i don't
know that they come out of here with. One either
so it's, really just, you know like, you said who's

(27:13):
gonna end up trading from the early second round into
late one to try to get? Their guy?

Speaker 5 (27:19):
All right last one for me and appreciate the time,
as Always, ruben bain, you know this report came out
over the weekend about an instant that he had where
a woman lost her life in a.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Car accident so you could tell us.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
What KIND of, i mean what you've heard about that
and what maybe that might pertain, to him because he's
expected to be drafted inside the.

Speaker 7 (27:37):
Top, ten yeah and, YOU know, i well first, of
all just not, INCIDENT wise i think there's still a
question about whether or not he's a top. Ten tick
and then the, ARM length i know people can talk
about how like it's not it's, not meaningful it's, you
know and that could be, all true but it would
be a historic. Arm length so we'll see if that

(28:02):
ends up affecting things and and. All that but, you know,
the incident it was a twenty twenty four. Car accident
he was cited for careless driving and then it was
dismissed by. A judge it, was going according to the,
police report under the, speed limit but it was at
four in, the morning so, you know it's it's a. Tragic,

(28:22):
thing obviously. It's awful teams have, been aware but they
have been able to talk to him, about it and,
you know they're going to have to judge is that
the kind of character that he has. Or not my
belief based on The people i've, spoken with that it
won't affect his, draft stock mostly because this is something they've.
All known but, you know really only the only way

(28:47):
you can find out is really to see what happens on.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Draft night, No, Doubt ian we will check in with
you next week on. Draft week we really appreciate the time.

Speaker 7 (28:54):
As, Always, man okay, thank you.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
THANK you i that is obviously very, tragic situation but
this is about that time every single year where something
comes out about, a guy especially at the top of,
the draft and you sort, Of, wonder okay when something
like that, comes out is that being put out there
intentionally to maybe help him fall to a.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Certain.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
TEAM yeah i think with respect TO The, nfl draft
all that sort of. Stuff happens information gets, put out
sometimes false information gets, put out and usually the information
is put out with a purpose. By somebody it's one

(29:36):
of THE things i think THAT the nfl over, the
years and maybe maybe they're a little bit better now
than they used. TO be i think teams have a
prototypical sort of feel for what a player should look
like at every, single position and now that's modified.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
A bit let's say at a.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Few positions is the, quarterback position because we've seen some
shorter quarterbacks that have been drafted and, you know have
done done pretty dog. On well But Like ruben bain
with his short, LITTLE arms i mean you either you
either watch film of him and say that that dude is,

(30:19):
a player or you watch film of him, and, SAY
MAN i i don't. SEE it, i mean he just
gets engulfed when. He plays when he plays bigger tackles
that ARE like nfl sort of looking and, playing dudes
they just swallow.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
HIM up i don't think that's.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
THE case i think he's played pretty dog on well
against Everybody that miami played. This year and so maybe
would you like his arms a little? Bit? Bigger sure
would you like the quarterback whose hands were a nine
and a half to? Have eleven yes? You would but
can he play or can an? Not play and stop

(31:01):
trying to, Project, guys hey what they're gonna, be, like, seven,
eight nine ten years? From now project them what they're
gonna be like three years. From now, rookie year, second year,
third year.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Maybe maybe the.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Fourth year because most guys that you draft are not
gonna be ten. Year guys you got to try to
get what you can from them in the first three
or four years of their career if they make.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
The team especially in the context of every thing we
just Talked about ian where teams want to get more
draft picks for, next year it just seems.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Almost impossible this draft is getting worse by. The MINUTE
and i say that only because as we start to
get closer and closer to, draft day you hear more
and more people talking. About that and for the, most
part information that is gathered from people who put together
mock drafts and people who, put together.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
You know sort of what they look at.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
The draft that information in a lot of cases COMES from,
nfl people and it's what those people.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
TELL people, i mean that's that's the.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Only thing don't think for a minute that every single
mock drafter is sitting down and looking at every single
Throw That ty.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
Simpson made they're. Just not so they'll look at enough.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
That they have, an idea, you know what kind of player,
he is and then they listen to.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Other whether podcast.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Or whatever they listen to people that, they trust and
then they may have, you know a handful of contacts IN.
The nfl they reach out, and, say hey, author record
tell me what you Think About. Ty simpson and you
start to do that for a number, of players and
so you start to hear that theme that has been
pretty consistent right from, the start this is not a.
Good draft if we could trade out of, this thing

(32:53):
we would definitely.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Do IT and i think that was the most interesting
Thing that. Ian said, pretty much it takes two. To,
tango yeah you got people that want to, trade out
but not many people want to trade. Back in and
or also nobody wants to trade their assets for, next
year which is going to be considered a. Better draft
And so i'm even the Thought Of. Ty simpson the

(33:16):
teams will be more than happy to, jump out but
it's the asking price is going to be too high
for for teams to come. Back in especially these teams
that are rebuilding and the ones that are going to
Want To. Ty simpson they need those picks to really complete.
Their TEAM so i don't know really what a lot

(33:37):
of teams are going, to DO but i think teams
are growing these veterans that are on the, MARKET now
i think they're being smart because teams are not going
to get what. They expect teams are not going to
get what, they want and so then they're going to
come back Calling, these vets and Then the vets will
get the price that they actually have been trying to
get the.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Whole time Yea and DAVID and i were talking about the,
other day is you get to the back half of
this first round and none of these teams obviously. Any
quarterbacks so it may be a little bit of a
game of chicken if you're Saying, the jets who don't
want to take him at the top of, the draft
but it would be nice To Take ty simpson potentially
at the beginning of the, second round or you've got
a way out what teams might try to leapfrog you

(34:17):
if you're in the cases That the.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
CARDINALS are i think also in.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
That, CATEGORY yeah i THINK it's, i mean IT'S a,
i mean the draft is a hit or.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Miss thing we all.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
KNOW that i think that in the case you just,
brought Up, the jets you're not going to take him
as sighs as.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
They have but your, thought, is hey if we, like him.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
We do we think it's going to be around when
the second. Round starts probably not because and, then you As,
the jets have to identify what two or three teams
do we think might be willing to, trade up and
how far would they, trade up and which teams would
be most interested in trading down out, of this and
how much do we really Like?

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Ty simpson because if you.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Wait and You're, the jets somebody else trades up late
first round and Takes, ty Simpson And tyson simpson turns
out to be a pretty good player for. That franchise
then you're sitting there holding the Bag of dodo and
your fans.

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
