DJ Squizzy in the Hiszy and they're loving it.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Listen to you. What was the DJ's name again? DJ
Squizzies in THEE. Nice. I see how you work.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I didn't realize Grant was saving some of those. Oh,
we've got an archive and a lot of stuff, A
folder on you.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I had to wear the diaper. I would do it
all right. Now we can start the show playing the hits.
It's good. It's good. Nice nice shirt there, COTTI that's
good man. Yeah, I'm a motorcyclist, are Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Last week's not even a minute to the I can't remember,
you know what? This is the thing about that I
just the first congratulations?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Did I wind you?

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Know? You?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
What?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
You you texted everybody? After what? I assumed you text everybody?

Speaker 3 (01:05):
No, I think I texted Grant too, Okay, okay, yeah, alright,
so then I texted Rick.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It took zero creativity on your part.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
And I texted Rick's wife, what do you.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Mean it took?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
It took balls the size of a water buffalo to
pick the rockies and under and then, by the grace
of the Good Lord, hit both.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I'm done.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
I just want to make sure. I couldn't remember. But
now that you brought it up, what a glorious moment
for me. All right, I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
All you did was fitned me. All I did was win.
It was the only chance I had to win. I
did all the work, That's all I'm saying you. How
do you figure you did all the work.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
I did all the work. I picked the two options
that ended up being both wrong. And then all you
did was just do what everybody should do.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
The guy the mile the mile race, and you just
kick everybody's ass for three laps.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
And then what you did.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
You came around the final turn and you put your
finger up in the air, and then the bear jumped
on your back and you tightened up and you got.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Caught right at the finish.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
It was like Jonathan Taylor the Colts Broncos last year,
before he crossed the goal line to celebrate.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Let the ball go, Go, Ride and let the ball
go Sean Jackson did Sean Jackson multiple times?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Another let the ball go guy.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
But you did more than once, so you are now
let the ball go guy.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I like that. That's a good nickname. It's not. It's
not a good place to be. Congratulations, I like it.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Thank you this one you finished second.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
It's not bad.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
First loser. Second. The Masters, you make money, you do.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
How about showing the morning you Nope? Nothing you remember?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Do you get remember?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Look at a ceremonial plaque like they do a Wimbledon No, okay, hey,
speaking of Wimbledon.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I'm not really a huge tennis guy, but I will.
I don't know if you guys watched the men's singles yesterday,
those two guys Center and Alcarez, and you talk about
shot makers, I'm like, oh my gosh, the hand eye coordination,
the ability to run down shots to slide, I mean,

(03:22):
unbelievable athletic ability and shot making ability.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That was.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I mean that was I'm not sure how long it was,
but four sets and a center with the championship. Yeah,
tremendous athletes. The men aren't as popular as women in tennis.
Who says they're not? Women have ruled for a long
time says. It says me, go back to Martina, never Tulova.

(03:46):
The Williams sisters. They may rule in your house. Oh yeah,
of course they do. I'm smart, Dave. I'm pretty smart
about that. You are, No, I don't. I don't think.
I don't think they outratings. I think they do, but
it could be wrong.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I know.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I wouldn't say that I follow the sports. It's like
soccer close enough to say that. But I will agree
with Dave as far as a big Alcarez fan, love
watching him. He's incredible and Center has been nothing short
of phenomenal. Playing the French Open what like a month ago,
a little over a month or.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Two the final and Center really had the thing won.
It was done and then.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Wrapped and then went over five hours the two of
them playing, and it was one of the most Again
you talk about the drama of sports. It is high
drama watching that stuff, and it was great yesterday. There
was a moment though, when you said again thought Center
had it wrapped up, and I'm like, I don't know,
Man al Charez, he just don't really go away.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I just I mean, I don't think you have to
be a huge fan of the sport, and I'm not,
but I am a fan of great athletes and the
highest level of competition.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Man, that thing, I mean, and then I'll get off it.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
But that thing yesterday, I mean, I thoroughly enjoyed that match.
And there were I mean, there were volleys back and
forth where you think one of them is said a winner,
and the other one runs it down and then it
looks like he's got a winner, and then I mean,
it just was an unbelievably skilled display of hand ecke
coordination and athletic ability.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Center with that shot between legs. Yeahid reminded me of Rick?
What part of it between?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
According to AI, the women's final of the US Openers
outperformed the men's in terms of viewership five out of
the past seven years. Oh, I sort of look at
the two years, those two that's what you're focused on, right, Yeah? Okay, Nay,
Who's who who won the one women's final? I'm going
to test your women's tennis knowledge? What what year this year?

(05:50):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Cocoa golf?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
No, mister women's tennis fan, And it wasn't Martina Navertolov No,
she's yeah, obviously, and Chris Evert.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
And King.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Now you're going even back further. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
It was it was six, it was six love six love.
I know that. Swy Tek Oh yeah her, Yeah, get
the hell out of it. I'm a fan, very athletic.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
And and the American says the Mova or not as
Anissa Mova. She knocked off the world's number one in
the semi finals and then she didn't win a game
in the finals.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
So is she the biggest US woman?

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Honest to goodness, I mister US women's tennis fan. I
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I'll ask you grant or Crackstaff says Cocoa golf by
far Coco.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Okay, she's got the coolest name. Coco was a great name.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
What I love about this conversation is this usually me
the steps in it that usually says like something regulous.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I know you enjoy you enjoy when I command because
he kind of focuses over on me.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
A little bit more.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
But I'm right here, fellas, Yeah, I'm right here. What
do you what do you mean? Usually the spotlight is
buried down on the enjoy it, enjoy.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
It all this with love, all of this mob sweating
because of the flannel. But my goodness is here, and
then you are you are in flannel again? Well, you know,
we can we can start to focus in on that.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
I don't want to let you down.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Although the wife questioned my decisions today as is walking
out the rest like are hot?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Really? Yeah? She usually she just lets me go. Does
hey you even wear flannel?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
You like wear in flannel, But today she's like, it's
a little hot from flannel, does isn't it?

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Seven to nine three five? Can we leave Ryan's balls
out of this? What does that mean?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Well, you you were talking about your balls? Yeah, I
don't think I was just talking about water buffalo. Actually
water buffalo fall yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Nine seven four six six.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Actually water buffalo have a fairly small scrotum in the
bovine world.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Lol. Okay, you know what I got to say, it
didn't know that. There you go. We're off to a
good start today. Geographic that this is right my wheelhouse.
You just want to keep going with this. My mom
and dad kept every national geographic in the world.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
He did, Oh my gosh, my grandparents did still have
them really, like like just unbelievable pictures, like you know
that that's sort of how we traveled.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I'd go down to the basement. Look National Geography. Yeah,
I mean yeah, but there were some cool, cool things.
She's still you still had the collection.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
So you collect everything I collect sports, National Geographic.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah I'm not. Oh boy, okay, I'm not your house.
You have your old high school bicycle. What is that?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
No, I don't here you do. It's up in your ground.
It was not my high school bicycle. I thought you
said it was your high school bicycle. No, No, that
was my dad's bicycle. You're gonna make fun of that.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
I take that back, take that.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yes, yeah, no, I think it was I think it
was a shwin.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
But maybe it was your dad's.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
But now, yeah, I mean I I would probably tend
to keep more things than I give away. Yeah, you're
one of those guys. Yeah, I mean you used to
have a baseball card collection. And I mean mom, I mean,
I don't know, my mom loved me, kept all my stuff.
You my mom didn't love me like that. No, apparently,

(09:28):
if that's the standard, there would be no.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
No.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
I just kidd all your baseball cards. He gave them away. Well,
that's what I mean. We moved so many times. All
of a sudden, the baseball card collection and football card
collection disappeared. Didn't think they mattered to little Rick. And
see that's where she made a mistake, huge mistake. Yeah, yeah,
I need some therapy for that. Hugged at the brain though.

(09:53):
It is seriously hot in here. It's like the inside
of a cow. I mean, I mean it is warm
in here.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I think the high point was what you said he
was a hoarder, and I just watched his face like,
I'm not a hoarder.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
No, I mean, kid, So I can't kept my I've
got my high school bike which is still functional, and
baseball gloves.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I think I kept my baseball gloves.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
I don't have that, and I kept baseball cards and
sports illustrated in National Geni collectibles.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
I don't have any of my bib overalls or Puka shells.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
See, we just have a little different taste in things
we wanted we want to collect. It be a different
is a good thing. Agree, Not everybody's the same, Dave. Oh,
I know that, and I and I'm good with that.
I've learned to a break embrace.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
You.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Thank you. Let me check this. I don't think the
service services when do we go.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
On the air.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
By the way, hey, congratulations to Kara Wilson. Did you
see Garrett Wilson getting paid big four years, one hundred
and thirty million, ninety million guaranteed. Yeah, price tag only
goes up for Courtland Sutton, not that he's gonna be
in the Garrett Wilson category or the Broncos even thinking
about that, continue to wait on these things.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
It's not like it goes down anytime soon.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
So that was my answer to your first thought would
be Garrett Wilson's contract impacts Courtland Sutton.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Not at all? Okay, do you don't think Courtland Sutton
looks at that and goes no, I didn't say that.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I think it might impact Courtland as he looks at things,
but I don't think it will impact his contract.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Because of Wilson's age coming off rookie contract.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Okay, Yeah, they're gonna get that done and expected Sauce
Gardner to get done as well before the season starts.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
So if you ask, I mean, what do you think
the take would be from Let's just say the sixteen
AFC gms. Fifteen of those take George Payton out if
you ask fifteen, the the fifteen other gms of AFC teams.
If you had your pick today, would you take Garrett
Wilson or Courtland Sutton.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Well, it probably depends on what you're looking for. But
I imagine Garrett Wilson on You.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Even had to qualify that.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Well, I fortunate I had to qualify that because why
because there might be a little bit of like what
am I looking for?

Speaker 2 (12:22):
What do I need my wide receiver?

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Garrett Wilson, Courtland they play wide receiver, but they don't
they do They don't play it the same way you
You have a choice between Garrett Wilson, dash or Courtland
Sutton period.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
For the same money.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Yes, I think Garrett Wilson has a higher ceiling. Okay,
in Cortland, I think, and I like Courtland, but I
think he's probably hit or close to his ceiling. I
think Garrett Wilson still got an upside. I'd go Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Regardless of what your team make up is.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
If you need a vet in the locker room, if
you are looking for a big exit, contested catch guy.
But he's taller than Garrett Wilson. Garrett Garrettison's six foot,
one hundred and eighty three pounds. Like again, he's a
really talented receiver.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
It depends on what you're looking for the rest of
your room. But no, it doesn't take you. Thank you,
Rick Lewis, Listen, I appreciate reason coming over. Nobody.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
None of the fifteen gms would ever take take Cortland's
name out of this.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
They take Garrett Wilson's name out of this.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Not one guy is going to say, I have a
choice between these two players, and this one over here
is a better fifty to fifty ball catcher coming from
a fifty to fifty ball catcher.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
What do you think Sehn Paygon would think. I think
you take Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I think because I think he's got people that he
feels like at least could be close to duplicate court
Courtland's production. And I listen, I hope court stays and
I hope they pay money. I mean, I I don't know.
I don't know if they're gonna pay what he wants.
I'm just saying I don't think. I don't think Garrett
Wilson's contract affects the situation.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
With the Broncos in Courtland.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
You think somebody's gonna pay Courtland though, if the Broncos
don't yeah, I mean I think it's not It's not
that I don't think Courtland can play.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I do.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I do think he can play, but I don't know
that he's going to get what'd you tell me? Wilson
got four years, four years guaranteed, ninety guaranteed. I mean,
that's a lot that ain't happening. I mean, I might
not even have done that for Garrett Wilson. But they
did same, you know.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
I mean they had a chance to take Matthew Golden,
very similar wide receiver to Garrett Wilson, and they decide
not to pick.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Any I think the reason the Broncos because the Broncos
passed on Matthew Golden too.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
I think they looked at him and said, and we've
we've got our speed guy. We get two speed guys.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Well, listen, I like Er Wilson a lot. I think
bang for the buck. You could talk yourself into one
of the over the other. Maybe Courtland Sutton. But yeah,
I mean, you're talking about a guy that has three
straight seasons to start his career over one thousand yards,
and you consider the quarterbacks that have been throwing to him,
Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, Aaron Rodgers, sort of the tailend
of Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Out of the Devil's advocate would say, look at look
at who Courtland Sutton's had thrown in to him.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's a great points. Yep, that's a great point.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
The more I look at the Broncos wide receiver situation,
the more I'm starting to think they believe Marvin Mims
is going to step into that number two wide receiver role.
It be the speed guy, the take off, the top guy,
based on how we played the last eight games of
last year, and maybe they see something at Troy Franklin
two in that role, but I think there's a good

(15:47):
chance Marvin Mimmes is going to get a big opportunity
to be that guy.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
What do you thinkbou Jwan Jennings, I want to answer
your question about Marvin Mims. What do you think about
Jwhan Jennings just as a player?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, as a player, I think he's and I hadn't
studied every single tape of Jennings, but I think he
is similar to Courtland, big.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Body, h he will he will block.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I mean that's one thing about Kyle Shanahan's receiver is
much the same I think, as Sean Payton here, you're
going to play in this offense. You know, in cut
split situations, you're going to go dig out the safeties,
you're going to block him and Jennings is that. I've
seen Jennings, much like Courtland, make big catches.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
At times he appeared to be covered.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
So I think he's a guy that, uh, you know,
I think they're I think they're similar.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I really do. Is he it for a deal? He's
unhappy with his situation? I don't have any idea what like,
what's he making? You know all looked that up.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
I mean, he's just been he Today report came out
that once again another San Francisco wide receiver because was
Devo before, it is Brandon Ayuk, another San Francisco wide
receivers out there saying he's not making enough money.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
I don't think Jennings is making Courtland money. I don't
think so either. Let me see here pulled up side
and I didn't have his contract.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
He signed last year, a two year, fifteen million dollar contract,
so he's in the final year of his contract again.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Is it seven and a half million?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:12):
But s Portland is making what are seventeen Yeah?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
That's right, that's right. So, yeah, he's it's got a
weird kind of structure to it. They put a ton
of void years on the end of this thing, so
he's got a thirteen million dead but his cap it's
only four and his base is only one point one.
So it's a weird contract. But yeah, he's he he's
looking for more money. I was just kind of curious
if you think that he would be an upgrade to

(17:37):
the room if you decide to trade a late round
pick or something like that for him. But you like
Marvin Mims's wide receiver too on this team.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, the more I look at it, and I feel
like they do too. I feel like they they found
something in him last year and how to use him
and get the most out of him. And I think
they still believe he's got an upside and we're probably
going to see that.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
They're going to try to get more out of him
this year.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
I think he ends up being wide receiver too. Beyond Courtland,
playfake for Nicks in the pocket, starts to break down,
throws a.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
Ball on around that by us, caught in the end zone.
That is a Denver touchdown. In that is Corton sudden.
What a great job coming back and stepping.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
In front of the defender.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
That defender was Shamari Corn ten yard touchdown strike Nicks
to Sutton. Sutton gets up and gives the mile high
salute to the south end zone and now trots to
the sideline, throws the screen route left.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Side and miss is swoom guy to run. This is Vince,
he is loose, Vinsen said.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
The forty it's out the thirty five fay races grabbed
from behind by a jersey and Derwin James hung on
with both hands the back of the white jersey of
number nineteen of the Broncos and just pulled him out
of bounds.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
But it's a gain of fifty four yards. Crawl and
Lil Jordan Humphrey with great blocks.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Love to look forward to good call. I like that.
How do you feel about Memes ascending? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I I mean they need him to right, I mean
I think that. My guess, and it would be a guess,
is he's going to be given every opportunity to be
that other guy because he, you know, he provides, he
provides a different, completely different look, body type and skill

(19:31):
set to Courtland.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
So you know you don't want. I mean, you want somebody.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Like Courtland, who, as we've talked about, is fearless.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Is going to go in the middle and catch the ball.
Is a fifty to fifty.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Catcher at times, can body you out of position and
catch the ball. Real good red zone receiver. And then
you've got mims who can blow the top off. And
you keep teams very honest with what they can play.
They've got to be aware of where nineteen is. If
you have two guys like Courtland, if you have if
you have Courtland and Devon Veley, not that they can't run,

(20:08):
but now now you you know, defensively, you can gamble
and shrink the field a little bit, right.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
So, and if you have two guys.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Like Memes, if you have Memes and Franklin, then you
start thinking, which one of these guys is going to
catch the ball in the middle.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Maybe maybe neither one of them.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
So now you start adjusting, you know, And and that's
that's up for those the schemes and the calls and
the players to understand that and you know, be able
to defeat it. But I think I think Memes is
going to be a key guy this year.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
So different types of body. Probably not.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
I'm just I'm guessing that when you get done with
that question, my answer is probably not.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
But go ahead.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
What I was gonna say, you want to have different
types of bodies as your receiving corps.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Not body body types.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
No, not body types, body types and material really ye,
skill set.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
It really sounded like you said body type small skill sets.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
But I equated body type the skill set in the
example I was giving.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Okay, I just came back, do you agree with that
our Garrett Wilson conversation?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I just said, I just said, everything's even.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Do you take Garrett Wilson or Coreland Sudden and you
qualified it not once but twice. You can't believe everything
that everybody text in. This is the mistakes. Our textures
are very smart. Careful here, okay, careful. Our textures are
very smart. They're very knowledgeable about these things. And they
have Google just like we do. So I imagine they wouldn't

(21:37):
have sent that in. Well, how do you google what
size or water buffalo's balls? You can do that on
the computer here. I'm not touching that one.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
That's on you.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
I'm doing it right now. Yeah, good for it. Yeah,
on my log in yeah, it's on your login. Actually,
everything we do is on your log in.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
I do see once in a while when you were
spot it, says our Edwards at the bottom of.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
You know, try it out loud. Ah, No, the texture
was right, mail.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Water buffalo do possess testicles, as they are essential for reproduction. However,
compared to taurine cattle, water buffalo have proportionately smaller testes
and a less pendulous rot them. I don't know why
that's funny to me, really, this is AI talk. I'm
a little embarrassed. But yeah, anyway, all.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Right, well, well for that, for that analogy. In the future,
we'll try to find something else. Uh speaking speaking of
clearly some of these topics that are part of All
Star Week, which is what this is.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Training camp starts next week.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I want to give a big shout out congratulations to
Ethan Holiday, the newest Colorado Rockies drafted fourth overall last night,
son of Matt Holliday. We are going to try to
effort to get Ethan On at some point here during
the course of the week.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
But very excited a young shortstop.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
You know, back to back week seasons years in the
draft for the Rockies taking these mashing an outfielder last
year and now here an infielder and shortstop with ethnology.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Pretty cool stuff. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Second, I believe, I believe that is Matt's second son.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
He was the he wasn't.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
But there were eight shortstops drafted in the first round yesterday.
The first pick in the draft was a shortstop who
was seventeen years old. That's the youngest first pick in
the draft I think since back in the eighties.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
But yeah, I mean, I don't.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Know anything about him except he's he's been raised in
a baseball household for sure. His brother, Jackson is in
the bigs now right, the Ools, Yeah, plays with the Orioles.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
So that'd be a cool story.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
If this kid right to develop and turn into the
everyday shortstop for the Rockies.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Here was ethanology last night on being drafted by the
Rockies and how much means to him.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
This is a really incredible opportunity.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
I'm just I'm so driven by faith, and I'm so
I'm so grateful and the Lord has really been the
centerpiece of my life, and I really I'm just I
don't know, I don't even I don't know what words
that I can put to this, but I thought Rockies organization,
I'm I'm just so so thankful, and obviously with.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
The family and the background.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
And my dad being drafted by them and that just
adds such a cool, cool thing and knowing everybody in
the organization since I was born.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
So I'm just I'm super thankful.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Yeah, And you know, matt Is is one of the
beloved former players of this town, right. I mean, we've
had him on the air a couple of times, and
hopefully we get a chance to chat with him as well,
because we had him on right after Jackson was taking
number one overall a couple of years ago. So I
can't imagine, man, you got you got two sons. Now
they're gonna be playing in the big leagues. You know,
It's it's some tough because I know a lot of
people were like, oh, well, the Rockies are what they are.

(24:48):
But I tell you what, you know, you have a
couple of drafts.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
I I tend to still have belief that one day
this thing sort of turns itself around, but I'm not
exactly sure how they get there.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Well, I think that's I mean, that's that's a question
and the answer is is fairly arduous and rather complicated,
to tell you the truth.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
But I was just thinking about the Holiday kid being.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
The first pick in the draft, fourth overall for the Rockies.
Other than Griffy Junior and Senior playing together, but they
played together, I believe it was in Seattle and that
was at the tail end of Ken Griffy Senior's career.
I don't think he spent a hell of a lot
of time in Seattle. I mean, Griffy Senior was Red's

(25:35):
and other teams. But other than the Griffies, what other
father son combo ever played in the major leagues for
the same team.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Well, I know Cal Ripkin, I think his he played
for a little while with his dad. Oh, Billy Ripkin
was also in the league for a little while with
his brother.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Oh, I don't. I don't think.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
I'm not the Boones Bob Boone at the end of
his career, maybe with the Phillies with one of his sons,
I believe.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I don't think the Ripkens. I don't think the Ripken dad.
I don't think Cal's dad played with Cal.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Now the Ripken dad was the coach. Maybe that washen
Cal played. Yeah, now that that happened with the Orioles,
right with the Orioles. Yeah, because he.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
But but as former as a former player, and you
would say that Matt Holliday was a great Rocky, was
a great Rocky. So and now his son is the
first round draft choice of the Rockies. I'd have to
we should do some research because I couldn't, off the
top of my head think of any other father son

(26:38):
combo that played for the same franchise. Yeah, check out
Bob Boone. That's the only one I can think of.
Maybe Bob boone son Bratt Boone. Yeah, there's He's got
a couple of sons that played in the Bigs and
and also managed Ray Boone. Ray Boon's another one. Well,
Ray Boon, Bob Boone's son. Yes, Bob Boone's dad also,

(27:00):
I believe was a big league player, Daniel Daniel Boone. Yeah,
you gotta go way back for that one. David, Yeah,
he played. He had a different kind of baseball hat.
He had the hat with the tail on the back.
You know what I'm saying. Yeah, Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Seeing if I can find you that played together. But
I can't remember off the top of my head other
than the Griffies.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (27:20):
No, I just when I hear Boone, you think of
Daniel Boone.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I do you know? You know?

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Tim Rain Senior Tim Rays Junior were briefly Team Montreal
the Baltimore in two thousand and one.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Well, again, that's sort of like the Griffies.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Yep, right, I mean that's that would be at the
tail end of Tim Rain's senior career. But his career
I think was most well known in Montreal, right, very true?

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Nineteen ninety four, Yes, Bob Boone's Dade.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Bob Boone and Brett Boone played for the Breads in
Night Full thing. Rick, you ever covered this man?

Speaker 2 (28:05):
You're going way back for some of your audience.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
This is like probably a show our dad's watch because
a kid people in a wheelchair, right, I mean behind that, Yeah,
I could lay it on a beat that with that

(28:28):
stay in the pocket hit don't get out of the
pocket on this song, He'll train wreck the whole thing.
So what else do you have besides the Rains that
played the same team.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
That's it really is the Griffies in the Rains played for.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
The same franchise.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
I mean they had to play on the same team
the same same time.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Let me let me do a little more research. We'll
get to that. We have more commercials. Lord, you know,
death taxes and commercials. I got a text from her boss.
Are you guys drinking? I said, transpversy know or not?

Speaker 1 (29:07):
There is alcohol in the vicinity, But no, they're not alcohol, Okay, no, no, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
I wonder why she would say that with a big
bottle of arts of tequila.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Why would anybody fit that.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
She's like walking by and and us thinking that was
related to Daniel.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
Boom other than that you singing along and you know,
I've never really asked what your TV shows in your cup,
but you decided to go with the not not Luna,
see you.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
He speaks, take us the quil It's tequila, although I
will say full disclosures they're not a sponsor of the
show at all, but they're a local company and you
know what, it's good tequila.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, you're an aficionado when it comes to tequila. I
do like you.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I do like good, good tequila. Yeah you know you
like it, don't you? Good tequila?

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Yes? Well, I mean I'm not trying to get you
to drink bad tequila.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Plenty of bad tequila in my life, yeah, I mean
in my earlier you and what do you think?

Speaker 1 (30:16):
I just love that he put himself it was to
get out of the spotlight. Yes, good tequila, I love it.
Bad tequila, that's so much. Yeah, no, I'm with Ricobett.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Who in the world wants bad tequila? A college kid?
You know?

Speaker 3 (30:30):
If I said, oh, yes, I'm a I'm a big
fan of vodka, and then my friend said, man, I
like really good vodka, but you know, bad vodka not
so much. I mean, what are we talking about here.
I do like cheap beer. I don't like fancy beer.
I like the cheap beer, like like what oh like
the typical domestic CBR.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Yeah, oh yeah, I like PBR. I'm not a craft beer.
Natty light. I'll go Natty light with you. Sure.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Yeah, you know what I've never had. Am I missing something?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Well, you can drink a lot of them.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
They can tell you that it's like drinking water, beer
flavored water basically.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Okay, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I don't think you've missed much in your life by
by skipping down.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Really, but they can get one on the road this year.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
I just said, I think it says a lot about you,
And I mean no offense by that.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
It says a lot about you that that's your that's
your beer choice. I was to say, because you said
it says a lot like what.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Well, he's a working man, you know, he's blue collar,
he's one of the guys.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
That's how you're looking at it. That's right. Yeah, it's
a compliment. Yeah, I just never liked the craft beer.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Everybody else goes like, I like this, I p A
and I like this, really fancy this. No, like I
like fancy beer.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Cheap beer for me, okay, domestic typical cheap lagger.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Do you walk up to a bartender saying, hey, what
do you have there? Going for? Cheap lager? Give me
the most domestic beer? Remember generic beer? Remember? Oh yeah,
I just said beer on beer. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
People still sell that absolutely. I wonder if the question
is did you ever drink that?

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Oh? Yeah? Did you really? Yes? Just because you're like, well,
I know what I'm getting as a joke. You know,
my buddies and I would go out and we'd order it. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
We thought it was funny walking around a bar with
the can that says beer on it. That's funny to
me and plus Rick is one of my best friends.
But I mean he is, and I say this in
an admiring way. He is frugal. Look at him. He
could hardly say that with a straight face. Have another
shout at tequila, though. Listen, I'm tempting.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
I'm not sure I can make Dave.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Yeah, yeah, all right, we'll come back. I have a
question for you, guys. Are we dismissing the potential impact
of the Bills loss in the postseason for the Broncos,
especially if they start out slow?

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Last that question we'll answer next
