actually a battle. Kirk Cousins, Michael Pennick Junior, not a battle.
You know who starts game one? Kirk Cousins, What if
he's not healthy? I would say he wouldn't start that.
I believe I would think I would think that the
Atlanta Falcons when they made that move, had understood that
Cousins would be healthy by week one. Now that's a

big assumption by me, and maybe falcon Fan is laughing, like, yeah, guys,
that would seem like the logical thing.

I believe. Fontinet is his last name, the GM off
the top of my head, where he is the one
who decided to go Drake London, Kyle Pitts, Jon Robinson
and Pennix Robinson the year after they league in rushing
them in the Eagles. Kyle Pitts, which is almost a
rarety to take a tight end that high now, and
Drake London, who got hurt at USC during COVID. Like
he's building a fantasy football roster. I would assume that

he's going to be Cousins the starter. I would not
call it a battle, no, not yet, at least Jaden
Daniels Marcus Mariota, that's a battle. That's a battle now,
That to me is a battle because Jayden Daniels is
the number two overall pick. But there are a lot
of changes going on in Washington. They had a new staff.
Ron Rivera was no longer there. He's got to learn
the offense. Mariota a gosh, I want to say, ten

years in the league, he's gotta be getting close to
a twenty fourteen. I believe he was drafted twenty fifteen
something right around there. So you got a ten year
veteran who probably twenty fifteen. Okay, so he can get
you through about a month of the season and not
knowing how much of the offense he's picking up, I
would say that's a bet. I would be far less
shocked if Mariota starts than Michael Pennix.

Mario is weird, because remember Mario, he was fiery in Oregon.
He looked at he was having fun. Now he looks
like the lights are on, but no one's home.

I don't get what happened. He was so good at Orgon.
I don't know if it's the Titans offense that threw
him off. Maybe the Pac twelve and may would have
been the Pack ten back then, just didn't have enough speed.
Maybe he relied too much on his athleticism, which happens
a lot with college quarterbacks. But he looked like he
had it all at Orgon and is never especially the
tail end of Tennessee, ever been able to rebound since.

Plus or minus four and a half games, everybody's healthy.
How many games does Drew Locke start for the Giants
plus or mis four and a half?

because if they are all healthy, the Giants would plan
on taking Jones for all sixteen games. This is not seventeen.

When Eli got benched, they decided to go with Geno
Smith rather than Davis Webb to find out he's the future.
There is no benefit of you starting Drew Locke in

week fifteen because everyone knows it's either going to be
Daniel Jones for the future or a first round traffick
in the future. Like if you're having that conversation in
week fourteen, it should be Locker Jones. Either two things
have happened. Either the Giants have been so bad this
season they're already going for a first round draft pick,
and they think Locke's actually worse. To improve the spot
or they're in contention, and this is gonna be like

a Doug Flutey starting the Music City Miracle game against
the Titans, where it's like, we actually think we can
win and you're so bad we need anybody else but you,
and we can make a deal to the deadline. I
think it's more likely one than two, so I will
take the under in four and a half games. I
don't think you'll start any games if they're healthy. I think.

I just something about the way they went after him
leads me to believe they like him, like I think
if he responds to practice better than Daniel Jones and
Dale Jones is you know, let's say he comes out
and drew Lockleys like a crazy win in week five.

set that up made me think, man if Lavaca changed

fans of imagine if they have a young quarterback who
leads them to a crazy win and starts getting their
respect in the locker room and is young enough where
they have to make a decision on his future. Isn't

I don't think de Vito is in the mix.

versus Sam Howell. This is the most confusing one with
any of these. Geno Smith had a complete career turnaround
when he got to Seattle. I mean, statistically, what two
to three seats. I think it was three seasons ago.

He was a different quarterback. He was in the playoffs mix,
They were in the playoff mix. Last season he back
at West Virginia. And every year everyone's like, well, Geno
Smith can't be in the future. Gino Smith CAMPI in there.
We just continue to write off Geno Smith because he
was so bad early in his career for both the
Chargers and the Jens that someone has to get us own.
Sam how had every opportunity in Washington. He was a

pick that they thought could be the future, projected early
as a first round pick, didn't get the job done
in Washington. Now, Ron Rivera didn't know how the playoffs work.
Did that ever helped Sam Howell? They brought him in
for a reason. They're not that far off. If we're
playing mad at did ratings, they're probably within two to
three points overall. Gino Smith's done nothing to lose the
job in Seattle, besides people saying his name is Geno Smith.
So I'd go Gino Smith maybe twenty twenty five Seattle.

In similar fashion in New York, though, finally says we
got to get a first round QB.

I think I think Gino Smith's toast. I think it's over.

England Patriots. Who's gonna be starting Game one? Guys Drake
May or Jacoby Brissette.

Jacoby Jacoby Drake May. Although it seems as if the
clips we've seen from Hard Knocks is a great football mind,
it seems as if New England's roster is going to
be so bad that they don't want to rush Drake May.
That almost as if it's it's one of these scenarios
that we see sometimes in pro sports where the GM

and head coach might have their careers extended by waiting
to play a young player, like, hey, we didn't play
May yet, hang on, give them time. It almost seems
like this is a long term play by Mayo and
company to Elliott Woolf is the decision maker now to
when it comes to the rosters. They don't want to
play May yet because they don't want to be exposed,
So I would go Jacoby over May. Hmm.

It's it's such a weird team because they keep re
signing the players that made them not good before, Like
they're re signing everybody from last year, or at least
all the defense. So well, the defense is okay. But yeah, Jacoby,
he's not collegiate anymore, is he.

He's he actually been bad in his career. He's been
like fairly average right everywhere he's gone.

The problem with him is he doesn't lead, like he
doesn't not with his path. Like if he throws the
ball so freaking hard, he throws it where you are
and it gets there maybe a little behind you. But
if he ever learned to throw a little bit of touch,
he'd probably be a legit starter.

I always put him with maybe a quarterback yere aback.
You know, I won't say the other quarterback because there's
another one I think here about it. I feel like
he and Gardner Minshew are very similar. Okay, there you
have to have a quarterback who's quarterback thirty four or
quarterback thirty five, Like there are thirty two positions to
start as a quarterback in the NFL. Someone's gonna be
like right there at the fringe every year. And it

feels like Jacoby Brisette and Gardner Minshew, are those like
thirty three and thirty four?

See I look at a different I look at it
as there's really only like twenty four guys good enough
to start in the NFL, and then there's eight other
jobs that have to be filled. My dudes, who's just
there and that's who they are.

The difference for you between quarterback twenty five and forty
is so it's offense, it's skilled players, it's coaching, like
there's really it's such a small fraction of a difference,
it's just.

But between twenty four and twenty five it's the Grand Canyon.
It's a massive cravasse. All right, Well, if you want
that one, let's do it. The Las Vegas Raiders Gardner
Minshewe versus eight and O'Connell.

It's almost the opposite of what you let off here
talking about with Daniel Jones and Drew Locke. Of there
is much more of an incentive for a O'Connell to
look good as a young player under a controllable contract
a lah Brock party in comparison to Gardner Minshew, Because
what do you do with Minshewe. Let's play this out, okay,
Let's say Garner Minshew starts Week one and he's great.

But then, like you got to figure out a contract
situation with a veteran gardner, Minshew is gonna make forty
million bucks, what are you gonna do with them? So
it really is difficult for the Raiders to financially to
figure out if he's good again. I'm taking the wins
and losses out of it. Obviously those are the most
part where we're talking finances here, ain't O'Connell being good
is far more beneficial for the Raiders because of the contract,

because of the future. And I know he's an older
rookie because he did five I think he did six
years in Purdue. Actually, gosh, no, no, he's twenty five. Okay,
Man Covid was weird. Uh, he's an older rookie. We
know that. However, he's not first round picks. So on
it has two years left after this year, exactly right.
O'Connell should be the answer here, but I'm grouping them
in with the Seahawks and Giants. O'Connell dot dot dot

just gonna walk away with it. I really do.

I think I gave you the most pushback on this,
was that Jared sit him at some point we get

To be that smart, that quick and that efficient with

him for? For Sean Payton, it should be a slam dunk,

should be smarter about this because they have two veterans
and a rookie. Are they going to keep three quarterbacks
on the roster? So let's play this scenario out right.
Let's say it's Nicks, So who goes? Jared Stiddam's gone,
Zach Wilson's gone? Are they gonna try to trade one

of those two? If it's Nicks, you would think it's Nixon.
Stiddaman Wilson would be the odd man out. But if
it's Stidham, then it's Stidham Wilson Sometimes Nicks like the
combination of what the Bronco quarterback room looks like. I
don't know who they're gonna deal off or cut. I mean,
Wilson stinks, but why'd you go get him? If you
think Stidham's the guy, then why'd you get Nick? How

we got to this scenario doesn't make sense of what
the next step would be unless they're gonna keep three
quarterbacks with this new rule. If you're gonna have a
third stringer, just sit the bench and make a lot
of money. Good job to whoever that their trigger agent is.
So that's why this is hard. I didn't make my pick.
I would go Stidham. I would go Stidham and then
Nix at some point, like drake Man comes in during
the season.
