Speaker 1 (00:01):
I do want to. I guess we haven't done this,
of course nine to eleven today or remembering nine to eleven,
and I was, I was very early in my radio
career and I was actually born up on the Howard
Stern Show at that point, and I remember we had
been out the night before because we had some event

(00:22):
I don't know, and I was almost asleep in the
studio because you know, starting would talk for like thirty
minutes at a clip, and I remember him saying, like,
you know, a plane is hit the World Trade Center
and I was like, whatever, here we go, what's this bit?
This is stupid And look up at the TV and
churn off. That's that's what's happening. And I find it

(00:44):
very intriguing that after last night where we watched maybe
the craziest debate for the president I've ever I've ever
seen in my life, and how divided we all are,
it was amazing how united we all were twenty three
years ago today. So maybe maybe maybe we can all
just remember that for a little bit and treat you
to like humans, no matter whether we're right, left, red,

(01:06):
blue or whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
But well, said my friend.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Thank you, And it's weird saying that in the WGY Studios.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
America's station.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
You look back in the history of in WGY, the
oldest radio station in New York, there's a lot of
history that's gone through, what's happened in the country, whether
it's this station covered nine to eleven was there, and
I'm talking about WI the studio we're sitting in right now.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
So if you told me that, even at any point
in my real career, at some point you're gonna do
a show in the WGY studio, you're out of your mind.
They never let me in there, and now they can't
get me out. All right, So Tyreek Hill's story continues
to expand. I found it weird how the Dolphins have reacted.

(01:54):
I thought the Dolphins would kind of throw some support
and then kind of step back. The Dolphins now Tyreek Hill, everybody, Uh,
they want the the was it Deputy Torres? I think
that the guy's last name is Taurus, the one who's
been suspended. The officer has been spent. They want him fired.
He's not a minute of administrator leave. They want him fire.

(02:15):
They want him fired now. I I was really hoping
this was gonna be one of those cooler heads prevailing
because I know I said this yesterday. I know there's
gonna be somebody listening right now going Yet you're a
white dude. You don't understand the stress of being a
black man getting pulled over for drive while black. And

(02:38):
you're right, I don't like, I don't know that. I
just so I can only speak to how I've handled things.
I only speak to the officers that I know, and
then I can speak to that looking at that situation,
Tiger Hill did himself no favors by the way he
addressed the officers. He did, and he escalated in the beginning,

(02:58):
telling him don't knock on my wind, doesn't rolling the
window up. Once he was out of that, that that
his McLaren. They the police officers, now it's their job
to do. They escalate it if they can. So I
think there's enough blame to go around. I really really do.
I don't know how so much as you. I don't

(03:20):
know if this is a fire situation though, Like for me,
I think this is one of those ones where if
everybody took the like, there needs to be training, there
needs to be learning, there needs to be like this
would be a great time for the Santus is the
governor of Florida. Right, do a peer summit like Obama
did back in the day. Do something where you get here,
everybody together, have a conversation and see if we can

(03:41):
find a happy like uh something, because this could get
worse if you keep posturing and calling for people to
get fired.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
What I at times loose perspective of is what's happened
and how a story like this could have been handled
not just in the sports where but locally, regionally, nationally
twenty years ago, differently, thirty years ago, differently, forty years
ago differently, because when I think about scandals and sports,
and look, this is not hit scandal level, but it's

(04:13):
dominating the national headlines of here's what's happened, here's video.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
How do we handle it? Like there was a time.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
It's gonna sound like an on comparison, but I think
you're gonnaunderstand what I mean by this. Twenty plus years ago,
Bobby Knight was under investigation by Indiana Basketball and people wondered, like,
what do you mean there's a player accusing Bobby Knight
of hitting them Like this was the old way. There
used to be parents who used to hit their kids
all the time and grandparents hit their kids like no,
Like coach Knight's a great coach, he's Indiana basketball.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
But that was a story that's still went by.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I've heard the term traditional media, legacy media, pre social media.
But then the video came out of him strangling the
kid and put his hand on his throat, and then
it was different.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I was like, oh, we got video now.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah, And I'm sure there were stories thirty and forty
years ago if here'say versus this and that, like street cameras.
Oh my gosh, I'm blanket on a story that happened
like in the eighties involved oh gosh, the five I'm
trying to think.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Of and I know it was brought up a debate yesterday. Yeah,
but like, how differently would that story.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
You have been if there were street cameras and what
had happened and how we cover these stories. The fact
that the video's out there for Tyreek Hill alters all
the ways in which we think about this and the
way we cover this story is different. And I know
I'm giving a lot of thoughts to the media here,
but this plays a huge factor in it. I'll bring
up this example, does it really matter for the police station.
Hey we got fifty.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Angry calls Central Park five.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Thank you, thanks forl Park five.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Thank you, fifty angry calls one hundred a thousand because
we've watched police stations. Whether it's the story there in
Wisconsin making it a murderer, remember, like everything that happened
there with Wisconsin became a national headline and wanting to
get a Kirk Menahi and everything he does with the podcast,

(05:58):
Like sometimes cases because of national spotlight, everything changes, it
turns the narrative, all these things, like Scotty Scheffler. It's
almost as if how popular and how much will people
care about this case for the next few weeks to
see the results that are being requested. If people are
still talking about Tyreek Hill in two weeks, somebody might

(06:19):
lose their job. If Tyreek Hill is catching one hundred
and fifty yards and two touchdowns against Buffalo on Thursday
night and he's not going to get suspended by the league,
this probably goes away. And I don't like that that's
the answer, because the crime didn't change, the event didn't change,
the video didn't get doctored because of how much everyone's
covering the story. But the end result really might be

(06:40):
altered by how many people continue to keep eyes on it.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
And I don't I don't think Tyreek Hill should be punished.
I don't think he's like and I think that again,
I think he escalated the situation while he was in
the vehicle. Is Danny Torres is the is the Miami
Dade Police officer who has been put on a ministry
of leave. He he escalated it out of the vehicle.

(07:03):
He made it a very physical situation. So I guess,
like I said it kind of, you know, jokingly yesterday,
but if this is on a football field, this is
offsetting penalties, then it never happened. And obviously you can't
do that. There's got to be discussion, there's got to
be learning from it. But just thinking about where we

(07:25):
were twenty three years ago, thinking about where we were
four years ago, where you know, we're defunding police and
everyone everyone hates everyone, and like I just I think
this is this is a great opportunity for both sides too.

(07:45):
I'm obviously you probably have to sign a disclaimer first
that you're not going to sue the other side or
you're not gonna be you know whatever. I'm not gonna
be sued to go. Hey, I definitely could handle that better.
I definitely, you know, Harry kill, Yeah, I was mad.
This is why I did what I did. That's why

(08:06):
I said what I said. I could have I could
have I could have handled myself a little differently. Hey,
you tended windows freaked me out, you know, I I
I pancked a little bit and I was over aggressive.
I could have handled myself better, and then we could
maybe just figure it out a little bit instead of

(08:27):
the Miami Dade Police Department going to war with the
Miami Dolphins one you know, one side saying the dude's
gotta be fired, the other side saying, like there's attorneys suing,
asking for and threatening legal action if if Torres does
not get reinstated. So, like, the one thing I found
kind of great and amazing is how quick we got

(08:49):
the body camps. Because normally you gotta go through you know,
you gotta submit it, you know, a subpoena for him,
you gonna ask for him and do something to get
them that. Miami Dad clearly was not shy on this one.
They're like, no, here you go here, You're gonna get
them eventually, and we don't think, we don't think we're wrong.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
The oddest part about the Tyreek Hill thing is that
it seems like the video has shown that he wasn't
in the right, wasn't in the wrong, but as you said,
the punishment probably won't be as severe. This should be
noted that somehow Trouble keeps fighting Tyreek Hill, and some like, oh,
that's unfair. Gods like you can't do that. This is
a totally different scenre. I guess like Tyreek Hill has

(09:28):
got a long list of things that have happened in
his life now, and maybe you could say that's an
unfair comparison. But gosh, the people who continue to find
themselves having issues with the law, how do they keep
finding themselves having issues with the law? They could just
are they being tracked? Are being monitored? Is there a
magnet like it? Just I feel like that point should
also be addressed. And now I'm gonna feel like Tom

(09:49):
Brennaman here with the awkward, really serious conversation into what
just happened in baseball?

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Just see what just happened.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
The Mets were three outs away from being no hit.
Francisco lindoor home run to break up the no hitter
and to tie the game Mets Blue Jays now one one.
Francis was three ounces away for the Blue Jays throwing
a no no against New York and the Hank Aaron Award,
the Offensive Player of the Year and the.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Nash MVP not named Otani. That's well, good good news
for Mets fans. Like you said, I I just wish
there was a way, because again, I look at I
look at this situation, and I can I can understand
why each side would be upset with the other side,

(10:35):
But I don't. I think I think we kind of
we probably got lucky that it wasn't worse on either side.
We probably got lucky on that, on that token of it.
But at the same time, like demanding people be fired,
and and you know, and again, maybe it's a bigger
race issue than I realized because I am I'm a
white guy, like I I know, I know people don't

(10:57):
always realize that what I know. I know, God doesn't
see color. That's I had to.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I saw it coming to you, like I don't know, yeah,
but the door in the ninth.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
But I just I would love to see cooler heads
prevailed for once. I would love it. Last night last
night's debate, I texted. I texted guys at one point,
I'm like, I'm just sad. I'm just sad because neither
like I. The most valuable part of a of a
of a presidential debate, in my mind, is you telling

(11:34):
me something about your campaign. I didn't know that convinces
me you're the right person to vote for. Like, that's
what I That's why I would I would love to
see that in a debate. I don't think anyone changed
their mind after last night's debate.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
For those who may be joining in the show and
don't know about my hometown, you might know I'm from Syracuse,
but I'm really from Solving, New York. And it was
not a good night last night to be a resident
of Solving, New York. For those who don't know, yeah,
you're their urban legend. Yes, yes, that's.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
The way I'll describe it.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
That the Tyrollians of Salve used to eat cats allegedly
allegedly maybe, And.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Then that is what is being said about certain immigrants
coming into the country right now, whether they be legal
or only whatever that was brought up during it, and
that again, I could not help myself I now know
who Godz is voting for because he's from Salve. I
could not help myself on that one.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
There are a lot of texts I've gotten from people
today and then he realized do that thinking about Salve.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I've been lading up my phone today about that.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
The amount of people who posted the marks safe from
having pets eaten last night. I've heard that story, but
I've heard it debunked and then I've heard it double
down on that. But I mean, the fact that that
became part of a presidential debate last night was mind bottling.
It was I told you you started using mind bottling more.
I like it. Yeah, it's good. Jew Rosenhou's brought it

(12:58):
back as part of the Tyreek Hill like mind boggling.
But I's just like, I don't I don't foresee either
side of leadership shutting this thing down. You can say
what you want about Obama, Clinton, you know Bush whoever,
Like I Obama did that. He had that beer summit
where he had the officer and they got together in
the Rose Garden and you know, they had a beer

(13:20):
and they talked like they talked like men, you know,
like old school, just two dudes. Hashing it out. I
really really wish somebody would try to do that right now.
I don't know who the person is in Miami that
can do that is like you know, it would probably
would have been Jimmy Buffett. I don't like. I don't
like like. I don't know. I don't think the Santus
is that guy. I don't know enough about politics in

(13:41):
Florida either, But just I think that there's enough blame
to go around, and then that we can actually learn
from it. Like you can learn a little bit and
I can understand a little more. You can understand a
little more and we could be good. But no, it's
gonna keep going until somebody's fired.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Who should I pander to?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Now?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Whatever candidate you thought to dwell last night, you're absolutely right.
Don't let anybody change your way or that's what I'll
you know, I'll stick with that. Take whatever you thought
happened in the debate last night, you're absolutely right to
ignore the Internet and anybody else that tells you any different.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Well, that's what that's all that came out of last night.
I the I I'll get a little I'll get it.
We're in at U. I see you. I love that
she forced him to shake her hand. I thought that
was I thought that was a good look. I thought
she was She did one thing I I thought was
very intriguing. She got him to start talking about him,

(14:32):
like how popular his rallies were, which is like, that's
as somebody's trying to figure out, like how the vote
and if it's the right vote whatever. I don't care
many gop go to your rallies or why. But like
if you told me that she was a little more
prepared for it based on things and whatever, I would
believe that too. There was there was nothing about last

(14:53):
night that I think. I think if you went into
last night you say I'm voting Harris or I'm voting Trump,
I don't think anything happened last night where you went
I'm changed my mind. And that's what sucks, because that's
the best debates are the ones where you go into
it and go, oh I was right, or oh I
gotta I got a little time, I got to reevaluate.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
I sweat a lot of fouls up there. I thought
about that.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
It was like the first wasn't that like a very
historical moment, the first ever televisised presidential debate. One of
the I wanted to say it was Nixon, but that
might not be right. One of the candidates was sweating
up there, like, oh gosh, it looks like he's under
pressure with the lights. It's going to change the election.
I'd sweat so much.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah there, and then once you know you're sweating, oh
even more.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
See, I've developed the theory. You know what I would
I would you that would be the best.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Use it as gel for my hair.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Freel Let's talk about Lillian David find Julius. We can

up there, and listen a seconds.

Speaker 1 (16:09):

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Yep?

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Push gift? Will I make it three for three tomorrow?
Push gift? If your wife is pregnant, you have a baby.
I got wonderful news about our baby in mid November.
The exit dates beIN heard you?

Speaker 1 (16:51):
I heard a pep a pig pendant you're gonna wear
on your neck?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Is that Lilian David find you? There's that's a lot
of peace to you. Nail though, very good.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
If anybody would be able to help you find it
to be a.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Listen, stop in there, ask about pepa peg, ask about
push gifts. There you go, ask about Paul weddings being out.

Speaker 1 (17:09):

is our good friend, Damon Ware, the man who hates
free time. How are you doing, coach? What's it like
being a college coach?

Speaker 5 (19:21):
All of a sudden again, It's been fun, I said,
Being around the younger guys and just giving some knowledge
has been fun. I do feel like I probably should
have taken a little break, but I love the game.
I love to be around it.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Him.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
We're off to a great start and so can't complain
about any of that.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, three and oh so far took down Montclair State
last Friday. You got a road game coming up this
week against Nichols College. At this level, like you you
mentioned before, it's hard to scout the guys that you're
actually going to play against. Do you know enough about
Nichols to feel like you've got the right game plan
or is this just one of those deals where you

(20:02):
put your best effort out there and let them deal
with it.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Yeah, this is definitely a pullet that obviously I've been
able to scowl them. You know, going forward, pretty much
every game from here on out, we'll be able to
get a true scouting report. So yeah, like some of
the JV games, like I said, you you know that
you play early in the season, you you watch their
their varsity team, and uh, so you have no idea

(20:28):
who shows up. It's it's you know, the bus pulls up,
a bunch get off, and it's like up there they are.
So it's it's an interesting and for a person like
me that uses a lot of high level analytics, it's Uh,
it's been interesting to to scout some of those uh teams,
But like I said, we've been able to do enough
to to continue to win, and uh, I am looking

(20:51):
forward to having some legitimate film here the rest of
the way so I can truly kind of go through
my process to get ready for a game. So uh
exciting times.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
We discussed this.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Little last week, but I feel like it's away going
to be the fun part of these conversations. With your
transition from professional to college ranks in less than a
calendar year, continue to do this, said, practice has got
to feel so different for you because you've got guys
in your team that might be taking biology one on
one or communications one on one, they have class. They
are truly student athletes. How if it all is that
student athlete part impacted practice for your players.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
It's different. Obviously, they've got their school load to go
through during the day. So we've transitioned from maybe a
little bit early practicing to now practicing in the evening
time and doing our meetings and getting our lists all
that stuff, you know, cramming that into the evening hours.
So it's it's challenging. And obviously, yes, they've got to

(21:44):
go and partake in the student experience as well, and
that's obviously an important part of college football, and so
there's a lot more, you know, things to do during
the day. So time management's very important, you know, keeping
these guys focused, and you know, a lot of these
kids getting fresh out of high school. You know, it's
a it's a different experience when you have a lot
more freedom. They give you syllabus at the end at

(22:07):
the beginning of the you know, the semester, and you've
got to actually do a lot of things on your
own for the first time. So a lot of that
transitioning from being a you know, a young man in
your parents' house to being a young man on your own.
It's there's a lot of learning to it, and so
just seeing a lot of the kids embrace the process
and some of the kids who struggle with the process,

(22:28):
it's it's always an interesting thing. But know at the
pro level, I don't have to deal with any of that.
It's you know, grown men doing grown men things, and
so yes, it's a very different level. A lot of
these kids are you know, we kind of joke about it,
this is this is you know, grade thirteen. So when
you pick of it that way, it's you know, you're
one year removed out of high school. And so again

(22:49):
a lot of these kids are fresh out, and so
there's a lot of differences. But that's also the fun
of it is I get to deal with a lot
of grown men and those kind of things, and the
challenges are different, and you know, getting back to to
you know, being a steward of helping these kids along
their journey and hopefully helping some of these kids get
to some bigger schools. It's all the networking of it.

(23:10):
It's been a it's been a fun process.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Demionware, Guys Fox Sports Radio, have you caught yourself at
all being you know, head coach of the Firewards Damon
ware to these guys from these students from Hudson Valley.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
You know, I don't change too much, you know obviously,
I you know, I don't. I don't get in anybody
else's way of what they've got to do. But but
I am me, and I you know, I bring a
lot to the game and have a lot of experience
and knowledge in it. So like I said, I'll give
it where I need to. And uh so it's been
you know, it's it's been fun. And you know, at
this point, most of the kids, you know, understand what

(23:47):
I do, uh you know, full time the rest of
the year, and and I think they've embraced that and
having somebody like me around is probably pretty incredible. Like
you know, I laugh and joke at it all the time.
You know, you're really not supposed to have me as
a coach. It's it's just one of those things. But
it just all fell in, you know. Again, we frightened

(24:08):
them at Hudson Valley and they were a gracious host
and building some of those relationships with the people around
there is what kind of led to me being a
part of this and Uh, like I said, I appreciate
just all the networking that gets done just throughout the
course of the year. So I appreciate them greatly, appreciated
them for reaching out and looking for my assistant. And uh,
you know, Coach as the head coaches. You know, he's

(24:30):
a great guy and he's been there several years, and
so it's been fun to just put it all together,
you know, put our heads together and figure out ways
to help build this program up for the long haul.
And uh, you know, but uh, you know, I laughed
quite often, you know, with my guys, and I'd say,
I'm sorry, I'm your coach, because me knowing better is

(24:51):
just I'll never accept anything less. And so that's the challenge.
And they're starting to get it. And you know, they've
dealing with the discipline that I put, you know, in
the that I that I coach. It's funny because I
just don't let up and they know it. And now
they know it, and now they just don't make a
lot of the immature decisions that they used to make
because they realize I tell them I'm not going to

(25:13):
change for the whole season, so you might as well
get used to it and just the discipline of the
game is I just I can't. Why would I ever
let up, you know, whether this is professional or whether
this is you know, junior college, why would I ever
let up. I'm gonna give you the best of you
every day, and I expect you to give me the
best of you every day. And that's the way we've
built it. And so no having a good time. And

(25:33):
I hope these kids are learning a lot.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
I'm sure with those conversations you're having with your players,
you talk about accept it. Guys, I am your coach.
I'm sorry you're coach. But early on, I'm sure because
they are teenagers and they're young, and they're learning as
college athletes do, there might be some frustration. But when
they figure that out, it's got to be so exciting,
so a great payoff for you. You're like, hey, guys, like,
when you do actually listen to me, you do get better,

(25:57):
you do learn, you do improve.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
I'm sure you've had those moments to see and already
where it's.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Like, I do know what I'm talking about, teenagers, I
do know what I'm talking about. Guys, Look at this
is happening because I'm coaching up has that happened so
far over the course of the last month that you're
seeing these guys listen to what you're saying and actually
see the improvements.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
Yeah, that's especially for the returning guys. And you know,
not to pass me dispersions on anybody that's been there
before me, but you know, some of the guys that
have been there just like, you know, wow, we've never
had this much attention to detail or this many drills
and things we do on a daily basis, or watch

(26:37):
film the amount of time that we do. And so
a lot of the older guys really know the difference
between what they've had before me and what they have now.
And so and the young guys too, coming out of
you know, coming out of high school, they realize the
different level that they're at on the jump that it
took them from being on the high school team to
being on the team now. And so it is fun

(26:59):
to watch these kids realize. And it's really fun to
be able to watch things that happen that you teach
them and be able to see it on film. And
and that's one of the biggest challenges is, you know,
we do all this work, but the difference between you
guys and a pro is when we go over the
stuff at the pro level, I know I'm going to
see it on film because that's the business that we're in.

(27:20):
At this level. I could show you a bunch of
things and you still think you know it all and
don't use them. And so and we've had, you know,
some of our players that don't use proper technique or
these type of things. But again, as the season goes
and they start to use stuff and they start to aha,
have those aha moments. It is fun when some of
them may be talk to me after meeting by coach,
you're so right when I did this, and you know

(27:42):
when I caught that ball, and you know, yes, I
realized I'd need to listen to what you're saying. You know,
it's it's fun and that's that's the exciting part about
being a coach with younger guys is seeing those aha
moments and watching them transition their game from from where
they are to a higher level. And so, you know,
I actually had one of my guys tell me, you know, like,
oh my god, I was bragging at my parents about

(28:03):
you and that we have you here and the difference
between last year and they're so excited for me and
you know, so that stuff is always fun. But at
the end of the day, I just as long as
I can help some of these kids, you know, achieve
the goals that they have for themselves. As far as
from a football standpoint, I'll leave you know here at
the end of the season a happy person.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
The man loves the coach. He is the head coach
general manager of the Albany Firebers. He's now he's with
Hudson Valley Vikings. And you guys got a big game Sunday,
but that homecoming weekend is coming up Saturday at twenty
first one pm. Guys, coach and I might have a
surprise for you that will unleash and everybody next week. WHOA, Okay,

(28:42):
you want to save it the next week, coach, you
want to what do you think?

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Yeah, yeah, we probably better favor it and give out
all the details. But definitely we're going to We'll give
a teaser. We're gonna smash a couple of programs together
and give some great insight into into both levels and
we'll tie all that together and uh and do that
on the homecoming weekend.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Look at this coach has done enough radio hits with
us now that he's setting up teases for next week,
crumbs like a long term story time.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Coach.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I think we're starting to rub off on you in
positive ways.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Now.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
You guys do a great job of that. And I've
learned a ton from Jeff just watching him with the
mic around here, and hey, I love what you guys do.
You guys do a great job.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Now I'm gonna cry. Okay, fine, coach, I see you
at the office tomorrow. Use coach David Ware. Make sure
you check out Hudson Value Vikings. Man. That offense is
getting things done. They're three and oh, hopefully going four
and oh and then uh, a little surprise for everybody
coming up next week, Coach. Maybe get some downtime today,
maybe just you know, not coach for fifteen minutes.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
I'm trying. I really am trying to build that into
my day.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
All right, Well, we'll leave you alone so you can
get to that. Coach man. We appreciate you, Zoe. Good
luck at practice today.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
Thank you appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
You dirty dogs, look at you too, teasing away dirty
thirty birds thirty after the debate yesterday. Okay, we got
the dump coming up here.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
A little bait.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
But but before we talk about the dumb it, all the
things we missed it, and some about our friends over
moahaw Kanda. What a great time it was yesterday live
in Glennville and Mohawkanda, where they always go out of
their way to please you. Saw everybody from Greig Johnson
Lindsay heard it. It is busy in the fall. Those
are great things though. It shows the Capital region and
upstate New York how many people continue to go back
to mohawk Kanda.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Whether it's that first.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Vehicle, maybe for the teenager in your life, maybe you're
looking for an upgrade, maybe you're looking for a certified
pre owned vehicle. The pilots to see our vs. The odyssees.
Our engineer Dave was just walking around. He's just like,
look at how nice the vehicles are. Yeah, mohawk Hoda
will help her. He's like, you tell he's into it too.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
He's like, well, it's this kind of transmission, which I've
always been more of a fan of this. So I'm
looking at this vehicle versus I'm like, what the hell
are you? What are you mister Honda over here?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Calm down, well, haw Kanda will help you find that
ride today. I know for experience.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I love my CRV the Odyssey, my wife drives around.
I'm finding out, as they shared on social media, and
Levaca is God to deal with this now almost daily
for the last four days, I will be apple picking
this weekend. I will make sure to take the apples
out of my vehicle. Mohawkan it can help you get
to wherever you want to go this fall, whether it's
the Big game or apple picking with your family, because

(31:27):
you haven't thought of.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
An excuse to get out.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Yeah, and you and Howard on Twitter have guilted me
into it and saying it's gonna be a wonderful time.
You're actually gonna like it, be true.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
I know.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
I love Mohawk Kanda, where they always go out of
their way to please you. Dump time coming up next
year on Fox Sports twenty five.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Got it not any.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Oh you feel that, Levac.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
He's just like you're just running today. I like, this
is the this is the God Show. I'm out.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
I'm just I'm just a hyped man. We had so
many great things coming up.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
I know this is a dump were growing cold in here,
this little cold to open, We're gonna be live the
next two days our final time in the GT Toy
studio Toys with the Z We're out live for the
start of our high school football premium package, the Plus
package Game Day Plus. We got about five different names
we're doing this. But the coolest part is we're spot
light in Section two football games.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Something to really love that. What do you think about?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
We really haven't done something quite like what we're taking
on here every Friday except Tomorrow's Thursday. It's a little
different Thursday and the rest of the season for Fridays,
you're gonna see that full schedule up on Fox Sports
ninety dot com. Coach Preston from Colombia is gonna join us.
And then on Friday, we're gonna be back with our
friends Chad, Chris, Tim and the whole gang, this time

(32:39):
over at McGregor's links up in Wilton on Friday.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Yeah, it's you. You're definitely overworking me. I'm gonna neat
a gas card. I think at least poor scard Joe's Thursday,
she'd like more to drink. It's the high school part.
The high school football part is always so it's so
fun to me, but it's so difficult to me too,
because I know we have coach Preston, who's gonna join us.
You know what I talk to whoever it is, if

(33:04):
they love the game, if they love their athletes as
much as like I love football, and I get wrapped
up and I know, like, we can't like unless it's
like Colony, because obviously I went to Colony and I
pay taxes for Shakers, So I feel like I can
root for either one of those schools I'm allowed to.
I can't root like I can't root for one or

(33:25):
the other. It's just not right, you know what I mean?
Like maybe after maybe I'll be like my dad when
I was growing up, Like, hey, Dad, who do you
want to win? I'll tell you after the game. Maybe
that's maybe that's how I have to do it. I
have to go like old dad jokes on this thing.
We can we can be even want our support with
some Stuart's milk and maybe some of those Stuarts fresh
cider donuts that might be good.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Look, we know it's all about the kids, we know
all that.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
But maybe you come by Stuart's when we're close to
the home team's school that week and you give us
something I can easily be skewed into what we want
to think that day.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
It's yeah, it's it's it's exciting, something different, something we
haven't had a chance to do before. Thanks to Stuart's
for howp helping us make it happen. And then of
course as far as McGregor lights go fired up, but
as far as the dump goes normally, you like just
try to dominate it. But I feel like you're I
feel you're cleaned out today. I feel you're you're a

(34:17):
little light.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
No, I got to how do we do it? How
do we do it?

Speaker 3 (34:21):
All the time that we continue to find wasted references
to the Dump, our sales team does want more of
the dump. I had a real conversation this week that
people are interested in being a part of the dump.
Have you had a chance today to read the headline
front page big story from big ging journalist don Van
not a junior today about Robbert Craft.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
I have not.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
I not only read this entire story today. I had
other things going on today, and I feel bad because
I was doing a production taping for one of our
weekend shows, our sister station w G I.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
They were fine, They've done a bunch of things.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
They were fine, I have like this. By the way,
make sure you listen when is this one air?

Speaker 2 (35:00):
This one's gonna air eleven o'clock on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Okay, listen because they might have slipped a swearword and GUZ
was not its must listen to radio.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
It is Pier O'connoran Strauss, Brent Stack Esquire, Oh he
wont he's a pro. He's a Hobart alum as well,
a lot of D three stuff, good people, Hobart.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
What happened to you? Anyways?

Speaker 3 (35:19):
While that conversation was going on, there's a huge piece
from don Van out of Junior about Robert Kraft's Hall
of Fame quest, and I thought about this a couple
of years ago, Like, wait a second, Jerry Jones in
the Hall of Fame doesn't have as many Super Bowls
as Robert Kraft, and neither does a lot of owners.
But a second, we're talking about one of the most
successful owners ever and not just NFL history when you

(35:42):
talk about championships. Robert Crafts in the discussion, is one
of the most accomplished owners in professional sports history. So
why is he not in the Professional Football Hall of Fame?
It is very interesting if you've ever thought, like, wow,
there's always been that power struggle between Bill Belichick and
Tom Brady and Robert Kraft. This story basically blasts Robert

(36:02):
Craft says, like the whole thing about the dynasty, that
Apple plus thing, Yeah it was the dynasty. Yeah, they
was called that was all controlled by Robert Craft. Because
Robert Craft also had the rights to the movie if
it ever becomes a movie, and he also had creative
control over the book.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Basically, like a lot of Patriot.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Content that has come out over the last twenty four
to forty eight months has really been skewed to make
Robert Craft look great so he gets in the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
It's really interesting how it was he.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Is the argument why he shouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
He gives the he doesn't take it a big j
journalist credit don Van out of Junior. He doesn't give
any side. He just says, here's the information. Think what
you want to think, here's what I've heard. Here's why
Robert Craft is failing to get in the Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame voters think, what had with the Flake
Gates one of the biggest spy get I should say
spy Gate Flaygate and the massage parlor, but more so

(36:54):
in this Art of the League talk about Spygate that
some of you that is one of the biggest cheating
scandals in NF history. Well, he's associated with all those things.
Why would we put him in? Well, aren't they successful
because of Bill Belichick? Aren't they successful because of Tom Brady?
It is a fascinating read. I would go and after
reading it, I'm actually more convinced he's not going to

(37:15):
get in. You and I worked with a guy named
Stacy James. I don't know if you remember that name,
but Stacy has worked for the Patriots for thirty years.
When we worked with him covering camp a few years ago,
could not have been nicer, walked just around the camp.
Remember look back you had opened gates. I'm like, fck,
that's Stacy James. Why is he doing this for us?
We don't even cover the team. He could not have

(37:37):
been nicer, But he talks about like how he became
the guy to get Craft in the Hall of Fame.
It is worth the read if you're a Patriot fan,
if you're a Patriot hater, awesome stuff. I find the
Pro Football Hall of Fame discussion as one of my
favorite ones now in sports, Baseball's is done because it's
not rational anymore. The NBA has the college and it's

(37:57):
the Basketball Hall of Fame, so it's international, so that's
hard to grade some times. But Hall of Fame discussions
for pro football, I think it's so much fun and
finding out a legacy like this that's not in the
Hall of Fame, got a little juice, got a little
tea to it in this one.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
I do find it weird that he's not he's not in.
Just again, you think about what I always I like
this benchmark that was given to us by some guy
I don't know what, pretend his name was Buster, because
it was. Can you tell the story of the sport
without that guy? And how do you tell the story

(38:31):
of the NFL without Robert Kraft? I mean, yeah, there's
definitely some sponges on that story, But how do you
can't not tell it? I mean, Lawrence Taylor is in
the Hall of Fame. There's a lot of guys in
the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Ojy oh, Jason, Oh Jason.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
The Hall of Fame, as to my knowledge, craft hasn't
killed anyone, right. We know they think we have never
seen the people behind the scenes from any of the scandals. Again,
they're missing, they are still missing. I don't know. I
think I think he belongs in. I think I think
it's easier for me to say that now that the
dynasty's kind of over too, you know what I mean,
Like the dynasty's over all. Right? Go ahead, Crafty, you

(39:07):
get you tuck us in there. Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
It's odd that two people who have covered and owned
two different cities and sports and a sport are both
not in their Hall of Fames? Is there a lot
more parallels between Robert Kraft and George Steinbrunner than we realize, Like,
George Steinbrenner went through a bunch of scandals, George stein
Runner has won multiple championships. George stein Runner is not
in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Wow, maybe him and

(39:31):
Robert Craft are far more close than we realized.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
There's two major differences. And this is as somebody who's
a fan of George Steinbrenner and I remember being fed
up with him. Craft is likable. Steinrunner didn't care if
you liked him at all. And there are a lot
of people who feel like the dynasty from ninety six
on for the Yankees never happens if Steinbrunner wasn't kicked

(39:59):
out of baseball for a while. So, like, you know,
for him, not for him to not be there, for
you to build the farm system, and to not trade
Jeter away and not do all the things that he
wanted to do is the reason the dynasty came to be.
So like there's I sadly say, there are better arguments
against Steinbrenner being in a Hall of fame than there

(40:20):
is against Craft being a hall of fame. Then again,
there's no massage parlor in No Sime's history as far
as we don't.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
As far as we know, I'm sure there are some
players who have accused George Sunbrenner of how he's acted.
I'm sure he might have some controversial things to bring
up in his past for sure.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Yeah, he hired a private detective to get art on
David Winfield.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
You said something there along the talk of the stein
Rener Hall of Fame Fannessey that I don't want to
pass over because it actually plays a huge factory. He
wasn't likable and didn't care. Well, hang on a second,
that actually, sadly does play a factor in some of
these people's decisions. Yeah, you know what I mean, like
the writers, the media members. It's a little different for
the Pro Football Hall of Fame because you have people
present your case in front of a group of people.

(41:00):
But when you are not likable in those people that
you treated poorly for decades, get side that actually plays
a factor sadly in this discussion.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Actually, just bringing up the whole Hall of Fame thing.
I'm just like, I both appreciate you and I get
angry with you because of the Hall of Fame. I
never once thought that I would make my way to
the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame until you
started telling me I belong there. And I still don't
think I'm ever going to get in, just because I
don't think enough people like me. But like you put

(41:32):
it in my head. So like all these people telling
craft like you should be in the Hall of Fame,
he's probably sad there going oh even thinking about it. No,
now it's like you're God's put it in my head
and I'm still never getting in.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Well, no, hang on, I got two more minutes here,
hang on, I can't. Here's the thing I'm not saying
this because you are my co host. I'm not saying
it because I'm your friend. I'm saying it because I'm
evaluating like I would evaluate anybody else. Like I said
that to Sean McMaster I got the I was I
hope I'm the first one.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
Sean always thought because he.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Did as he did. But I said it to Sew
and Sean got in. And when Sean got the notice,
he left to be a really nice question. He said,
you called it like Roger's gonna get his call one day.
He's probably got to wait two or three. Roger Wine
will eventually get in the Hall of Fame. Doug Sherman
might be in next year's class. Like if I'm doing
my job as a sports radio host evaluating resumes for
Halls of Fame.

Speaker 2 (42:23):
Which I really enjoyed because it's fun. Like it's a
fun discussion. It's what this. You are gonna be in
that discussion, Levac at some point if you.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Both said that I belong in there too, or no,
they don't. They told me I was a big part
of them getting in.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
You've got a long way to go, though, Like waiting wise,
you've probably got another ten to twelve years I.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
Don't even know what to do another ten. What you're
talking about? I might, I'm a fade away.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
I'm gonna have that was it Chris Barnwell who did
like projecting the Hall of Fame class for the Pro
Football Hall of Fame. In baseball, I'll be the only
one who does the New York State broadcast.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Putting my name down there like no, it's not happening.
You know what I can get into is a CDTA bus. Okay,
