Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Lovak and gus On the voice of the Capitol
Regions sports fan Fox Sports ninety five, nine and nine eighty.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
That was I was so distract I was watching TV.
What happened?

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Are we still here?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
It's the third hour?

Speaker 4 (00:15):
I thought we only did two hours. I'm in a
time Why are we in a studio?

Speaker 5 (00:20):
Mom?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
All right?

Speaker 6 (00:23):
What?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Okay? All right? Here's the thing.

Speaker 6 (00:28):
I what I can't imagine retiring from what we do. Like,
I mean, there's like there's a point where you get retired,
I think, right, like, if someone's willing to pay me
to sit here for a couple hours a day, even
not well, apparently I'm gonna keep doing this because it's
just it's not like it's not backbreaking.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
It's fun. You know. People people see me walking into.

Speaker 6 (00:50):
The local gas station, which, by the way, one of
them locally has gone way downhill.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I have to talk to their people about their staff.
It's not right.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
Uh, But also out here like a right from across
the parking lot. It's like, as long as I can
string a sentence and people care about sentence, I want
to keep doing this. And I'm not nearly as good
at what I do as Woch.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
The news been all over this the final Woch bomb.
If you've missed that story earlier table.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
You're so good at woatbombs, you drop your own Woch bomb.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
It's been trending all afternoon and now and into the evening.
I'll do the Adam Schefter tweet to give him credit
for what Woch tweeted earlier. Long report that ESPN senior
NBA insider Adrian wor Janowski has retired from sports reporting
and he's now moving on to become the general manager
of the men's basketball program at Saint bonavent Or, his

(01:44):
alma mater. His role will include name, image and likeness allocation, recruiting,
supporting successful Bonnie's head coach Mark Schmidt. So what people
talk about is maybe quite possitive.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
The idiot would go from talking about sports to running
a sports team or a department.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It sounds stupid. You do that now, bothful job.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Uh, we're stupid, all right, So let's discuss this.

Speaker 6 (02:08):
But he will get him on the phone. I got
to talk to him. Yeah, I used to have his number.
Then he wouldn't answer. I think I still have it.
He's it's a mistake. He's listen. It's way more fun
to talk about these things than actually work on them.
It's not I'm gonna be in Chicago for three days
next week, and I'm hoping it's gonna be good.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Let's throw some theories out here. I think there's about
four to three theories of why this happened.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Okay, theory in no particular order. Okay, I like this.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Theory number one. He loves Saint Bonaventer. It's true, he
loves Saint Bonaventer, loves his alma mater. If someone said,
what is your dream job, if you got to make it, Hey,
I want to work for the school that absolutely love
and they're gonna pay me and I have less stress
in my life.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
I would love it focus on my little window of
the world. Everything I feel like Terry positive, very wholesome.
That's theory number one. Okay, you three more that he
just has a job he absolutely loves. Theory number two.
He just didn't have the desire to keep reporting on
NBA stuff anymore. Like he ran out of gas. It
was a young man's game. He didn't even enjoy it.

(03:07):
He wasn't having a life. He just didn't want to
do that. At each take two am to report on
dwi's and stupid stuff. Yes, those two probably go. One
and two are probably hand in hand. Okay, I would
think if if I would think two would cause one
or one would cause two.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Number three, Uh, you know what a negative one?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Number three's got to be a negative.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I want to cross off number four because I feel
like number three is basically what I think the answer is. Okay,
could be wrong, but this is what I think sious.
Number three is. His contract was coming up. He was
going to get paid nowhere close to what he used
to get paid when he was signed over from Yahoo,
and his agent or whoever knew that while he felt
like I'm doing a ton of work, if not more
work than I've ever been asked to do in my life,

(03:51):
it's not worth it this point to not make what
I think I should make. I'll take a job far
less stressful in his world. I'm sure his job is
still be stressful. I just don't want to do this anymore.
For what they're offering to pay me, I'll go do
something else for the rest of my life. I'm basically
getting fired, but walking out on my own and doing
something else like es. Yeah, like I'm just leaving. My

(04:12):
contract's coming up. I don't want to do this anymore.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I'm walking.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
So this theory is we're gonna make you an offer
you have to refuse.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I would say, so that's my that's my feel So
I could say I'm wrong. But if I had to
put money int rivers right now of why I think
this is happening. He spent seven years there. He probably
signed a four year deal and then his next deal
was coming up. He's probably like, you know what, I'll
go do something else for the rest of my life. Okay,
I'm not doing this until I'm seventy and your final theory,
that's it. I just crossed off my fourth the fourth one. Yeah,

(04:42):
and this is the biggest long shot scandal.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
There's a scandal out there.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Oh Man's sandals number four, right, I said he My
number four was they actually offered him more money at St.
Bonaventure because they were going to find a scandal with
him and they didn't want to deal with.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
His issues anymore.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
You know. I was thinking, like he like, somebody's accused
woages of something and it's coming. It's good if he's
at ESPN, it might come out where if he's if.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
He's Bonnie Am I not? It's a mecha. Yeah, that's
the least likely one I've got.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Yeah, well he's hiding stories and there's some type of
burner account. That's scandal. Yeah, so scandal and payment of Hey,
we're docking your pay, we're finding you because he didn't
follow journalistic integrity. I'm not taking the fine.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I'm leaving.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
So behind the scenes, he's actually like Ron Burgundy. He's
not a he's like bottomless on a on a uh
the board.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
About it. I've got a watch bump for the ladies,
and he drops into the pool bad.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Here's Jeff George Carlin is one of the greatest stand
up comedians of all time. He has a bit about
the ten Commandments and he's like, it's it's ridiculous, it's
it's overdone that you if you literally get into it,
there's no need for ten, Like you can boil it
down to like two.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
I love that bit, one of the comedy bits of
all time.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
So like your theories, with the exception of the last one,
what you want to throw away, I feel like they
all go together and probably are they're probably all three
of them are the truth, Like the negotiations aren't going
well enough. You didn't blow me out of the water,
So there's so there's no reason for me to continue
to do something I don't love as much as I
used to do. And now there's this interesting opportunity that

(06:26):
I never thought I would like that. I never thought
I would get that. I get to go do like
I think they all kind of come together because if
if any one of those things isn't true, then you
probably I still love reporting on the NBA. Why would
I go anywhere else? You know, I still wow. They
offered me so much money, how do I leave? Or
you know, they didn't really offer me enough. I'm a
little sick of telling everybody about I'm sick of my

(06:47):
phone ringing at one thirty five am because Paul George
stubbed his toe.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
So let's go, let's go be part of the bonnie.
So let's have some pune with.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
This Sham's Charny has nipping at my heels. And you
know what, he might undercut me for money because they
can offer him three mil and offer me two and
eight and then two six.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Is like Riko Bosco at barstool thinks he knows more
than me, I'm good.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I'll go hang out and watch college basketball with a
position that real people don't really know what I'm gonna
do yet.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
And I'll use my name to make more money for
the guys who play for me.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Yeah, yeah, I think it all. I love I like
that one because he just seems like a universal good.
It would be funny if there was like an evil WOJ,
Like there's like a side of him that we just
none of us know about that he's actually just evil, Like.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Does that evil? Okay, evil's too strong, but enough to
ducks side. There are some reporters that if people found
out how they got their stories would say that was
an evil tactic or they did like wo just popped
off about politics before on social media. WOJ has probably
done something he doesn't feel great about doing in the past.
Like I said, he's probably done some unethical things, and

(07:52):
you can judge that how you want. You'd still be
a good person, but the way he found a story
may not be what you'd put on the fridge to
show off to mom and dad.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I mean, but everybody's got that.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
There we go. We're not judging, we're just saying no.
I mean again, he's too good. That's why I kind
of hope something's going on. And here's the here's the
other part of it. You can always go back and
you and literally like I'm retired from ESPN. Does that
mean he's not gonna go hey, by the way, this
just happened because people are still gonna call him like good,

(08:23):
good for woj good for just telling you though, bro,
Like just from me over here. It's so much more
fun to talk about running a team than running a team.
If you knew again, I would say sixty percent of
my job with the Albani Firebirds is the most fun,
the coolest things that you've evera But there's forty percent

(08:44):
of just pure darkness and cock that you have to
deal with. That's your job. That's that's what you do.
Like if you're if you're running a department and God knows,
because he runs the department here, you're realistically like your
title might be boss, manager, president, whatever, but realistically you
are the largest support role in the building because if

(09:05):
your people don't have what they need, they can't do
their job. You're the one who, when the copyer breaks down,
has to figure out why it broke down. You're the
one who has to make sure somebody gets from the
airport to wherever, because if it doesn't happen, they can't
do their job. The buck stops at your desk. I
like telling people why the bucks should have stopped at
somebody's desk way more than having the buck stop at

(09:26):
my desk. I love my people. I will go to
war for them. But if we could go back in
time and learn to write, I might still be working
for a crabby company.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
I think about this, if this AI chat GPT crap
was working back then.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
I hope that everybody listening right now, you listen, especially
whether it's on the podcast side, driving around the Capitol
reagion the iHeart app. I hope with LEVACTA said you
felt that to your core, Like if you're a teacher
here in the Capitol region or reereveren, I'm state New
York wherever. Like I love helping kids learn, I love
watching kids do develop. I can't I can't stand parents,
you know, like we've got seventy five twenty five's there.

(10:05):
I love being a police officer. I love helping people
continue to stay safe in community. This helps out so much.
I can't stand my boss right or what I mean,
asked to do in certain scenarios.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
I think we all live through that. I heard, right, Well,
there's a reason they call it going to work, you
know what I mean. Like, like, there's some younger people
in my life who when they talk about their work,
it's like it's always the negative.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And I'm like, I've fallen in that trap before. What
do you love about your job?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (10:32):
This, this, this, and this? Okay, well where else can
you do that? Well? Here and here I go. Will
you make money doing that? No? No?

Speaker 6 (10:39):
No, okay, Well just remember that that's the reason you
love your job. But it's still your job. Like you're
not going to fun, You're going to work, and it sucks.
Find the one that sucks the least.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Even the sports world, like, people will always want to work.
If you're listening, you probably have wanted to work in sports.
Maybe a son, a daughter, and heisa, a nephew. Hey,
you know what, I'm a big sports fan. Maybe one
day it'll be cool to work in sports. Okay, remind
them these things because it is cool, like percentage of
the coolness of this job. And for woaches getting talked
to all these athletes having these connections, you mentioned the
sleep the day what it looks like off days. So matchine,

(11:14):
if you're gonna work in sports, already give up all
your weekends. Like your weekends are gone. You're gonna work
Saturday or Sunday, that's a given. If your home game
and away game your traveling, so your weekends are gone.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
You have to find your time.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
If you're in the NBA, Christmas is gone. Christmas is
the biggest day in the NBA, So you not spending
time with the NBA NFL.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
It's gone. Exact college football's gone.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
If you're a college uh, let's say a basketball director
of operations. Right, well, Thanksgivings gone too, because the season's
gonna tip off in early. So now you've lost Thanksgiving,
Christmas with your family, and all the holidays and weddings
that I then like, look, I'm focusing on negatives right now. Yeah,
but that we bring up the Wach thing because this
is one of the most popular names of all of
sports media that has decided sports media is not the

(11:53):
game I want to play anymore. I want to go
do something else. I want to go do something different.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
And tell me one one young person getting into who
loves the NBA who loves basketball, who wants to cover basketball,
who doesn't go, Yeah, I'd love to be Wog one day,
like like like for like for baseball. For me, it's
I know there was people who love Peter Gammon's there's
people who love this one. My dude's buster, Like you

(12:18):
don't talk to me anymore, that's why, But like that's
my guy. I love the way he delivers the news.
I love the way he lives for it. I love
the way he loves it. Like I love that, like
I like I want that in my life now. I
would say that like my dream if I ever, if
I ever get to grow up and be whoever I want,
it's probably McAfee. That dude works his butt off, but
nobody looks like they're having more fun.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
He's having a great time. Maybe that's the future of
sports medium.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
And I think jumping into water and being part of
the WW I mean.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
I think you hint into this that even though WOJ
is gonna have this role as the Saint Bonaventure general manager,
you can still help young journalism students.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Well that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
Like he's gonna get people are still his sources are
still gonna go to him h to see. So if
you're gods, you are now you pretend to be and
once on the internet, so you're for for this your
Woach I send.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
You that, uh, Lebron's gonna retire.

Speaker 6 (13:11):
Well, no, Lebron is gonna demand to be traded to
the Knicks because he really loves what Jalen Bronson is doing.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
He wants to be a part of it.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
Do you do it? Do you kick it off to
somebody else? Do you ignore it? What do you do it?

Speaker 2 (13:24):
What I believe will happen?

Speaker 4 (13:26):
This would be cool if he did this because Scham's
who we talked about earlier. He learned under Woach. Malika
Andrews was hired by Woach because he went up to
her and like said, he read a paper or something
she reported on say hey, let's stay in contact. So
he's used the influence to help young And those are
just two examples off the top my head. Like, yeah,
I think he's gonna start handing it off to some
of these students and be like, you know, who's the
next to me? And maybe that's as important as to

(13:48):
his legacy. Gosh, this sounds real deep here. I think
that's really important. To him, and I think that's a
really cool thing. Like you mentioned people you follow, and gosh,
we're get real deep on this topic. Like I hope that,
like maybe when you're up in the Capitol region. I'm
sure when you want to get into radio. You mentioned
uncle Vito as somebody who inspired you, right, like or
got to under his way, right, it was awesome. I
always talk about Adam Shine and listening to six point

(14:09):
twenty the Sports Animal in Syracuse, Like I always wanted
to be Adam Shining because that's what I listened to
going to Pop Warner practice of my dad. But I
always knew, like I can't be Adam Shine because I'm
not Adam Shine. But the fact that I host the
sports radio show is pretty awesome. Like the fact that
you get to do this is awesome. Like I hope
people listen to this, like want to be WOJ or
do this career or play by play or whoever, Like, yeah,
maybe Woch will want that to be last.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
You have some similarities to Vito rules.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
Yeah, he has a lot of rules, Like there's rules
to do it right, and if you don't do it right,
PTO doesn't respect you.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
I might test you about those rules and before the
show ends, all right, I got to reveal some of
those later on of the show.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
Well, no, because I'm saying like there's actually you doing
you don't I'm trying to think you who's still there's
there's just there's things about There's things I learned from
him that I've never walked back from. And there's things
that I've learned from him that I know that if
we work together on a day to day basis, he
would he'd want to choke me because like I don't
he he loved I'm gonna I'm gonna break a big secret.

(15:06):
He like the open house party each Saturday night was
a mazing sound effects. It sounded like he was in
a bar the whole time. Sometimes he was, but a
lot of times it was me and him sit in
a studio Eno Pizza.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
No, how could you? The bag belongs in the Hall
of Fame a hundred percent.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
For if you think I even believe if I should
even be allowed in the door to view the New
York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame, veto belongs on the
wall because the Veno.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
You think about how Veno built his career. For those
of you who don't know.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
He was a caller on Picks, his morning show, Mason
and she In, and Mason loved his creativity so much
that he then he got Mason got him in the
building doing shows. He starts doing shows, they're gone, He's
still here and like and he can still be. There
was a point where at our old job, they put

(16:05):
a classic rock station on at one point and asked
me if i'd call him, and I said, I will
only call him if you promise you'll treat him with
the utmost respect, Like I don't know what the finances
are or anything, but the second you go like, oh,
you're just uncle Vito or your your day's are bed,
I will.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Not call it. And no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Ultimately I didn't call him because I was like, they're
not gonna do it. They're not gonna do it right,
They're gonna they're gonna go here. Because I'm like, he's
gonna want to play his own music. He's gonna want
to do this and this and this, and if you
can't do that, I'm not gonna bother calling him. Well,
the playlist will be set. Well, then you gotta gi
him a couple of songs an hour. No, no, okay,
I'm not gonna call him. And because he deserves that.
He deserves that respect. If you can't tell love, you know,

(16:48):
that's my guy.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Uh veto Adam shine Woch. We had a lot of
connections there that was good. We had coach where coming
up here. Yeah, speaking of great guys who deserve tons
of respect. He would he got poland like meetings.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
Yesterday, we're going to make the confirmed announcement about the
next flock you ooh for those of you who have
been waiting for us to do a flock university, the
next one is coming. It's coming very very soon. If
you've been watching our social media over at the Firebirds,
you know what it is. If you haven't, you're about
to find out when it is.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
What a tease levic.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Let's talk about Lillian, David Fine Juliers talking about rings,
talk about championships, coach we think or two about that
championships and his career. Lily and David Fine Jeelers can
help you find the ring that she's looking for. Guys,
the fall is officially here. Maybe you're off to a
fall wedding. I thought I wasn't going to. My wife
has told me differently that I'll be off to a
fall wedding next month, but those having been outlawed. But
a wedding band two for one wedding man sales guys,

(17:40):
Maybe you got engaged in the summer, you forgot a
wedding band's a thing and where Lily and David Fine
Jeelers can help you. Maybe you are celebrating that fall
anniversary that you made me mistake with years ago. Airings, necklaces,
anything that fits her style.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
She will hold on.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
Let me ask you this. So we're talking about our
great friends or Lily new Fangelius. If your wife told you,
if you marry me in the fall, I will never
get in the way of your team when it's when
it's having a winning season for the rest of our lives.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
One weekend again, and.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
Then, like you know, obviously, if your team's if your
team's like three and nine, all right, sweet, we're going,
we're going, we're going, we're gonna go pick a we're
gonna go get a Christmas trade, we're gonna go do
whatever you're you're giving me this weekend. But if your
team was nine and three, Mom, why doesn't Dad have
to go to church?

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Or whatever.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
It's we made a deal that don't have to be negotiation.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
One ring to rule them all. From Lillian David, it was,
but I won't get one wedding bands and.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
You work with that with David and Alyssa. Throw that theory.
Throw that theory out there to them and see what
they say there. They will help you. G will offer
some perspective. Tammy will as well as Lillian David find
you there's shops at Wilton and share that the.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Questions do they get it?

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Lillian David that they should never have received because of
us that like do you know that? Like I've studied,
like the the chemistry of gold, the cut, clarity and
everything of diamonds. I've been, I've been, I've been around
the world looking at different ways to make jewelry better.
And you're asking me about football schedules.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Football schedules, fallbacks. Fanny Packett says, here, what's the Lavack
and guys, the situation with push gifts and pushing off
your coach wears on the way in a few minutes.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
He's not listening.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
It's Lavak and Guys on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (19:28):
We are joined by you know this is an official,
not just not just friend of myself. A friend of
the show status goes out to head coach of the
Almani Firebirds, general manager of the Albany Firebirds, Uh Damon
Ware and also assistant coach of the Hudson Valley Vikings.
I'm sorry the four and oh Hudson Valley Vikings coach.
Where how does it feel to be undefeated yet again?

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Feels great? I tell people all the time it never
is old winning. So I will take every win as
they come, and every one of special in some kind
of way. But definitely happy to before and oh and
looking forward to this.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
Weekend's game now as a guy who loves the running game,
you know, ultimate respective defense, it's been a you know,
something you've been working on hard in the arena game.
Gotta feel good to hang sixty one points on somebody
in a college football game.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Yeah, you know. The weirdest thing is, God, the world
is so small. A friend of mine was coaching at
that college. I had no idea. I mean, it's all
the way from across the country and here in the
middle of math here he was, and coach Cooper was.
I turned around and we were like, what are you
doing here? What are you doing here? And it was

(20:41):
a fun little moment. But yeah, going up to math
was was a fun trip. I thought we had a
really good game plan together. Team played just outstanding. You know,
we were able to score to drive clock was running
in the second half. We probably could have put up
another twenty thirty points, but you know how those things go.

(21:04):
We're not trying to beat anybody into submission, but it
was good just to execute right before a real big rivalry.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
Game like sixty one is like an arena football score,
Like obviously you know, the arena game is why we
know you, how you've come into our lives. Do you
do you still learn something about the indoor game while
coaching the outdoor game. Do you ever pick up nuances
that you're like, oh, I want to do that on Saturdays?

Speaker 3 (21:29):
You know, occasionally you're going to run across something that
you know kind of you know, speaks you know a
little bit to you and it might spark some interest.
You know, footballs is a continually learning thing. And any
coach that just thinks that their system is set and
you never have to advance any further. Those the guys
that usually get beaten and get out of the business

(21:49):
pretty quick. So eyes are always open on things I
see or things we come across on film, or things
that come on through a game, just different techniques you try. Know.
It's what's fun about having the young guys is I
get to, you know, try some techniques that you know
that I've wanted to use at different different junctures, and
so you know, you really get You got a lot

(22:11):
more time obviously to spend with these kids, so able
to do some different things. So yeah, I mean it's uh,
football is a continual learning business, and uh, nobody loves
to learn more than I do. I you know, I'd
listen to anybody. If I'd listened to you for five
hours and learn one thing, then I think it was
a great conversation.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
What is that vibe?

Speaker 6 (22:31):
So you've listened to me for months, you may have
learned one thing. So finally, what is that vibe like
with your players right now?

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Because you you've seen a habit throughout your career, like
you come out of camp and those those tough days,
those dog days of the summer, and now you're into
September and you're winning in success, What is the vibe
like in the lockerroom with your guys.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Wonderful. Like I said, it's you know, it's rare that
that maybe a school like that has a coach that's
that's been at the levels that I've been. So they've
got to learn that process and understand just all the
details and things that I demand. And you know, so
it always starts off rocky year because I demand so much,

(23:11):
just you know, first grading. From the first scrimmage, they
looked and you know, eyes were wide, like, oh my god,
like you're gonna grede us like that. So just it
takes some time. But but I've got a great relationship
with with a lot of these young men just they
know I have their best interested hart as far as
learning the game and and putting those selves in a

(23:31):
position to move up to a you know, a four
year university. So we're working hard, and right now we've
got a big game that started. Obviously yesterday's practice had
a great practice, uh just you know, great execution and
and I think that spurred a little bit from from
the last weekend's game of just executing as well as
we were able to. And you know that breeds some success.

(23:53):
And so you know, obviously being four and oh helps.
You never want to get complacent just because you're winning.
But having Nassau, a team that under Coach Jones leadership,
they just haven't beat yet. And so in his five year,
ten year, they're zero to ten against Nasau and you know,
we got to change that for him. And so you know,

(24:14):
like I said, I told our guys, you know, these
are the games I'm here for. You know what I mean.
I will make sure that we put in the right
game plan. I'll make sure that we're ready to go.
I'll make sure we don't forget any detail. And so
we've we've had a really good week to start. You know. Funny,
like I said, Sean Brown, who was you know, one
of our offensive linemen, he actually went to Nasau as well.

(24:37):
He's from Long Beach. So you know, it's all, you know,
football such a small world. It's just you go so
many places and that's some areas that that come across
you from different individuals. So just having a good time.
But you know, ultimately it's homecoming. I think it will
be a great turnout this weekend. But I really want
to get Coach Jones this win, get that monkey off

(24:58):
his back, and uh, you least she can say that
that he's won and tim against Nassau.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
All right, so we got we got our head coach,
general manager of the Albany Firebirds, assistant coach to the
Hussey Valley Vikings. Damian Weather's right now a Fox Sports radio.
So just just so this is what this is what
New York does to you.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
You're nice enough to come and be a part of this,
and it's Albany and it's Nassau. They make they they
don't they do. We do this just so we know
that we still have something left to teach you. That's
all it is.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
No, I love it, I do it off just like
I said, being a full participant in this community and
just learning all the different the rivalries and the difference
between upstate and the city and just all those different things.
It's just always fun. I love to see all the
different different rivalries and cultures and want some dislikes and
all those things. So looking forward to this being my

(25:53):
first battle against Long you know, Long Island, and we're
going to get after it and have some fun this weekend.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
And NASA is also the homecoming game, so.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yeah, it will be homecoming. Gonna be a great game
one pm is to kick off right in the middle
of the day, give you a chance to do whatever
you need to do at night. We want to pack
the stadium obviously. Uh, you know, we need to support
you know, Hudson Valley's it's a it's a beautiful campus
for you know, for community college. It's you know, I've
been to many of them and this is just one

(26:25):
of the nicest ones. It's just you know, everything that
we have there is is just top quality and so
just want people to come out and support.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
Well, we've got a little extra news. We're gonna drop
on everybody. Guys been waiting for this one. Coach, we're
doing a little we haven't done it in a little while,
but we're getting the band back together. Let everybody know
about Flock You.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
It's time school needs to be back in session. We've
had our summer break. It's time to open up school
and start flock You. We will do our first Flock
You this Saturday morning at ten am right inside the
Hudson Valley Community College football field. It'll be great as
many people can come as as they want and sit

(27:07):
up in the stands. We'll be right there before the
big game. Versus Nassau. So we'll be there, smiling, happy
time to talk fire Birds football. Any questions about the
upcoming season, obviously with all the changes and all the
fun exciting news, you know, come on down and ask

(27:28):
your questions. We've also got some news about Hudson Valley
and and their sports programs, and we'll have some of
that and we'll actually get you know, special guests from
Hudson Valley. We'll get them on and we'll get a
couple of players from the team to come on and
give them a little bit of love and just really

(27:49):
excited to be able to kind of give them a
little bit of a vibe that we've created and get
some of our following down to support Hudson Valley.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
I love these Fox Sports exclusives. Please get me so
excited when coach were keeps it for us, I appreciate
that as always coach and who knows, look back, No
pressure on you and.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Coach and everybody.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
But next week I heard you have a little road trip.
Who knows, maybe we'll get a replay version on a
weekday on Fox during the afternoon. Joy, Maybe we'll have
another flock invasion, the Flock takeover like we had during
the season on some of those weekday shows, so no pressure.
If it's really good and might air again on Fox
Sports next week. Coach, there you go, he's taking.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Advantage of his coach.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
I know it is, but but you gotta love it.
You know, a great ideas and uh, you know, yeah,
let's have the flock invasion and uh, let's give you
the exclusive. Guys. We always appreciate you, so let's give
you the exclusive. We'll obviously be down in Chicago for
some more league meetings and coaches meetings and those kinds
of things, so we'll have plenty of great news coming

(28:49):
out of that and anything we're allowed to share, let's
just do it on Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
I got a.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Third son on the way in November. These diapers cost money.
These clicks help get there. I appreciate it. Thank you
very much.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Well, you know, congratulations and oh lord, I'm so glad.
I'm a year from being done and you're just getting started.
So good luck for you, buddy.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
Not only that, maybe you should like let coach his
kid babysit your kids for a little bit. Coaches kids
just got a massive scholarship.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Hey, congratulations, that's awesome news.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I appreciate it. My my little guy is he's a
great student. He's a four point zero student. He's at
a got a great just an academic offer that well,
we'll see what we can get from the sports side
of it. But super proud of him. He's done a
great job. He's also our water boy for the Firebirds,
so he's always there right with me. He's been there
my whole career. He's been, you know, as many games

(29:45):
as he could possibly go to. So just super proud
of him and can't wait to see what he makes
of his life.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Your son has a four point in average, get a scholarship.
I had to remind my Tyler yesterday he can't eat rocks.
So we're in different parts of life.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, we're definitely at different times. Like I said, good luck, he.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
Said, Tyler, it was actually himming out of your mind,
staved ware Man. All right, So so you guys take
it on NASA this this Saturday. But flock you ten
am right there on the field and it's the game.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Is is it free to the public.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
It is free to the public, and so doesn't cast
you dime, just cost you some time. So again, just
we appreciate the support. Uh you know, there's there's there's
just bigger things out there to do. But uh we
understand again just community college football needs the support. We're
having a great football season. We've got a lot of
great kids that deserves people cheering for them. So hopefully

(30:44):
I get all of the fluff Nation to come on
out support not only myself but these kids as they
look forward to trying to move on to bigger schools.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Love it, coach, Man, appreciate you. I will. I'll see
you tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
But then everybody will get to see you and myself
and and a lot of special guests this Saturday ten
am uh flock you, which will be available on all
the Firebirds social media and then potentially, if Gods needs
it again on Fox.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Sports Radio next week.

Speaker 6 (31:11):
Will you and I are in Chicago working on a
F one business man.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Appreciate you as always, sir, awesome.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I will see you.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
He said that I didn't haven't potted up.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
I screwed it up. You didn't know in my headpots
I hear him. I hear him. Tell gosgo eat some rocks,
all right.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
I love love coach where uh coach we're looking at
some fine vehicles over at Mohawks Chevrolet.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Of course.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
Andy Gelcher, one of the owners of the Firebirds, one
of the owners of Mohawks Chevrolet, just off extitly twelve
of the north Way and one of the guys you
just vision man like he's he sees it all and
he is a way to help get things done. That's
why you know Travis Horn, the GM, Katie Gettusso dunk In,
the assistant GM, Grayson Ben from the Dealership.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
It's a very Ben heavy episode of the Dealership this week.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Once you and I were both watching Grace ticked off.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
Like so our guy Nate, who handles social media and
everything for the Mohawk brands. Did you see Nate has
to like wait for her to leave, to hide, like
build it, to do the room he wants. Like Grace
is taken over. She's she's she's taken over.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
The dealership is still missing something. You know, me x Factor,
you and I.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
You et Rocks, you're not getting on that. You're not
gonna get a dealership. It's not it's not gonna happen,
all right.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Not Jerry, Yeah, I love Jerry. Listen if you don't
what we're talking about go check out the dealership.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
It is hysterical, it's viral, and it just kind of
shows you the family atmosphere that's going on over at
Mohawk Chevrolet right now. Speaking of family, how about your
Mohawk family helps you a little down payment action anywhere
from a hundred to five hundred dollars on vehicles you
find on Car Bravo. There's there's some restrictions that apply,
but they're worth checking out right now at Mohawks Chevrolet,

(32:56):
Car Bravo, Mohawks Chevy together, let's drive where they always
go out of their way to please you at Mohawks Chevy.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
I got a lot of the dumb here. Do you
hear what happened this yesterday involving the New York athlete
and how it sort of has a connection to our show.

Speaker 6 (33:10):
I probably didn't, but I would love to hear all
about it. I'll make it sound like by cheeseburgers. So
we got a long dump coming.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Up here now, backing guys on ninety five nine Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
You know, before we get into this, Yes, sorry about that, Levacca. No,
there's all these wild things going to my life. Turn
on the microphones. Well, I mean, that's like it was
almost over.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
Deal with it all in all sincerity, like if we
back in the day we were supposed to do it
was almost like a joint show. So our radio studio
would be hooked up to feed audio and video to
the Upstate Edge when Kelly O'Donnell hosted it, and the
idea would be like our final segment on certain days

(33:57):
would just we'd flip a switch and all of a
sudden we'd be live with him and we would do
the segment together and then he would erit that night
on the show. And I always love the idea because
there are two shows that happen at least sometimes six
or seven shows. People wonder why I need adderall Like
here's like there's the show during the commercials, then there's

(34:17):
the show you hear, and sometimes the show during the commercials,
like if you watch the Office or Parks and Recreation
and talk radio, you go back like all those like
you would like that show even more than this show.
More reasons to come see us live, because we do
that at live events as well. Yes, accidentally leave the mic,
hon you here it anyway, but no, it's man.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Sometimes.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
But every once in a while, like I'll go, why
why am I not losing weight? I drink a gallon
of water, I do this. I can't work out as
much as I want to. I bang my backup and
I just won't. And then I just spend the entire
show drooling over fifty cent double cheeseburgers at McDonald And
literally it's so. At one point I texted my daughter,
I go, dude, cheeseburger Day, fifty cent double cheeseburgers McDonalds.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Let's see how.

Speaker 6 (35:08):
Many we can eat. That's why I'm fat. That's why Austin.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Asked her boyfriend.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
And this is also why I'm fat, because he's I'm
hanging out with a twenty.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Two year old and a twenty one year old.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
Whose metabolisms could like could digest a water buffalout. And
I'm over there and Austin, my daughter's boyfriend, fire's back.
Is there a limit on how many we can buy?
I want a life to live, you know what I'm saying?
Why am I all that?

Speaker 3 (35:36):
All? Right?

Speaker 2 (35:36):
So there you go?

Speaker 6 (35:38):
So because somebody let me know if there's a limit,
we have to go to multiple Mickey days to get
a bunch of fifty cent double cheeseburgers.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
I love those days when they used to exist ten
or fifteen years ago, or you could just eat whatever
you wanted. Yeah, and I like, I want to speak
that into existence of like you know what, maybe we
could all have that metabolism come back, like maybe that.
But I'm gonna watch it very soon. In my household
with three boys, oh like week, it's how are they
eating this much? And they're only toddlers.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
We've already You're already there because every time you like
sit down and take a nap, your metabolism is going
not gonna digest that very fast.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
We'll just push that over to the hips. There you go.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
More on this nap term later. Tell me about what
napbar follow when.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
The kid naps on you, even though you know you're
not moving, you're not your station.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
There, I count that asleep. Now, all right, I'm gonna
break some radio rules.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Here, Lavack.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
You know, I've got these unwritten rules that don't really exist,
but they're in my mind. Usually when you hear a clip,
it's about a minute long or maybe less than that.
But something happened on this station Fox Sports tety five
nine to ninety involving a New York athlete in a
legendary radio host. If you haven't heard, here's the back
and forth involving what happened involving Saquon Barkley, a former
New York Giant, and Dan Patrick. It's a little longer

(36:50):
than usual. It's from this station. It's worth hearing because
I want to get your take on this.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Here.

Speaker 5 (36:55):
We were scheduled to have Saquon Barkley on, and as
soon as he dropped that ball, I said to myself,
probably not having Saquon Barkley on. And we talked about
this in the final segment yesterday. If the Eagles happened
to lose that game, this is the tough part. You know,
Fritzy's booking people. We can get somebody or they have

(37:16):
a game the night before, and this is a sponsored booking.
So he was going to be on because he was
selling a product. And then I said this morning when
I came in, I said, it's probably wise if Saquon
doesn't join us.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
I understood it.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
I understood it because you know, first of all, if
you're the sponsor and you're paying him to endorse you,
people aren't going to be focusing on the product. They're
going to be focusing on the fact that Saquon is
on a show right after this drop, right after this loss,
and he's selling something, you know, to America.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
I get it. I've been doing this a long time,
and we.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Just celebrated the twenty fifth anniversary of Dan Patrick Show.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
I could probably.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
On one hand tell you the number of times that
I've heard from an athlete who had to cancel. It's
very very rare. You hear from an athlete, now, you
might hear from a PR person, now you might hear
from a sponsor. But Saquan texts the show and said
that he was sorry and that he'll do his best
to make it up to us. I mean that's a

(38:25):
classy move.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
Wellvack, what do you make of those comments from Dan Patrick?

Speaker 6 (38:32):
It's yeah, I guess. I mean he knows the deal
because he said, like, it's not gonna happen, if this happens,
if whatever. But like of the places you could of
the places you could go and still be treated appropriately
even after that, I would think Dan Patrick would be
the place to go.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Like, like, Dan.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
Patrick's that dude who he's He's going to ask you
the question like, Hey, what went through your mind when
you off the ball or something like that or what.
But he's gonna do it in a very pleasant way.
And he's not gonna like Jim Brown's gonna attack you
sorting out like Colin Cowhard. Wait, so he's an East
Coast athlete. Colin Cowhard's gonna attack you because you're an

(39:15):
East Coast athlete. Like, not attack, but like they're gonna
treat you a little different. I think Dan Patrick's the
one place I would go after a drop.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
It's interesting that that is your take because when I
first heard this quote, I'm like, you know, what a
really cool story to share about Saquon Barkley that he
personally reached out to the show and said, hey, guys,
I can't make it. When I heard that, I'm like, wow,
And maybe it's because of what we've done for a
living that like that is super rare that the person
you've booked for the show will go out of the
way when they don't have to. But your take is

(39:43):
far more on the public's take of hearing that quote.
Because I looked at some of the replies, I'm like,
you know what, they're gonna show a lot of love
to Saquon Barkley, you're here the top five most popular
replies to that video and that quote we just shared
first one. That's not class to cancel. Lol, great spin
you clown.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
That dude just hates everything that's like you stupid clowns
and clouds and puppies.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
I hate you all, Comment number two, grow up face
the music, sae Quon Comment number three. This is why
your show's a joke, Dan Patrick, You entitled cowards?

Speaker 2 (40:20):
How are they entitled? They didn't get what they wanted?

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Comment this is real. Go look at the video comment
number four. It's got over six hundred and fifty thousand views.
How is it classic? A bail in an interview after
you played like poop? Just didn't want to answer the
question how you had your feelings hurt?

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (40:37):
By the way, you had a great game except well,
not a very good game except for that drop.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
But that was that was a big deal okay.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Comment number five. Wow, totally not understandable or acceptable. Aaron
Rodgers shows his face on McAfee every week, Win or Lose.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Public, hold on, hold on point of order. He's only
shown his face on McAfee was it recently? Three times?
After games?

Speaker 6 (41:02):
Yeah, but no, yeah uhuon the Blues, off the roads promise.
Saquon's sensitive, Like we're we learned this about Saquon, Like
he's he's not used to this, Like when he was
at Penn State, that dude you know walked on water.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
Now you know, since he's been in the pros, he's
had to hear it. You can see it. He wears
it on his face like people were crushing.

Speaker 6 (41:24):
Him for reaching out to Dale Jones, Like just move on, man, like,
hold on, he's been we've been backfield mates for years.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
It's seeing the worst combination of feels like a New
York sports fan was stabbed in the back. Plus you're
not performing well in Philly in a big game. Maybe
that's like the worst place to sit as an athlete.
New York fan mad at you and Philly fan frustrated
with you. That's the ben mix there. But the problem is.

Speaker 6 (41:50):
Like, all right, so he did drop that ball, Like
I don't want to like that was a bad drop.
I I told you yesterday, I felt like you want
that's why you lost that game. He dropped that ball.
But he's right, he's fourth in rushing yards, But isn't
he like is he like number one rushing touchdowns or
number two?

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Like he's playing as good as any running back in
the NFL not named Dalvin Kamara. Probably a second or
third best running back so far this season.

Speaker 6 (42:13):
Yeah, he's so he's second in rushing touchdowns. Its cive
for second. He's he's he's got three total touchdowns. I
think Alvin Kamara has four, right, Yeah, so you nail it, Like,
I mean, come on, like what just there's just there's
nothing but hate on the internet. Is there any positive comment?
Because again, I just my whole thought was if he

(42:35):
was about to go on, I'm trying to think of
like New York City show Boomer and Gail Well. Now
he knows that they're gonna give him extra extra cock
cock because he's an eagle. He dropped the ball. You know,
everybody's comparing his numbers to Devin Singletary. Singletary had the
same rushing yuards but got in the end zone, didn't
drop a game winning pass. Also didn't win the game.
But like I can see where he'd be like, you

(42:57):
know what, I'm good. The other thing we don't know,
And I say, we don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
You may know this. Why was he scheduled to go
on Dan Patrick a promoted sponsored interview. Yeah, that's that's
the other.

Speaker 6 (43:09):
So if I'm Doritos or whoever the hell's sponsor, Fanatics,
whoever DraftKings, whoever it is, Hey, We're we're gonna go
ahead and postpone this tour. Why because you dropped the
game winning pass. Uh So we're we're gonna save this
for when you make the game winning play, because it's gonna.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Look better for us.

Speaker 4 (43:33):
Your your number is probably gonna be more accurate than mine. Yes,
in your career multiple decades in the industry of the ouch. No,
that was a compliment may when Marconi and I figured
out how to make a radio. Of the agencies that
you've worked with, how many do you think would actually
do what you just said?

Speaker 6 (43:51):
There a lot of them. Oh really, Yeah, they spent
They spent a ton of cash. Like you think about
it almost every time that you're given. So like when
we do these interviews, like sometimes they go through the person,
sometimes they go through the agent. When they go through
an agency, and like Gosla, this is the one where
like when we call like hey, we're you know, we're
looking for Saquon Barkley, hold on, please tell him for Sakuon.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
He's finishing up another interview. You have ten minutes. Don't
say this, say this.

Speaker 6 (44:18):
Those are the ones that are going to completely control
it because they're spending per station. So like if if
I I don't, I mean more people are gonna be listening.
So maybe I keep it. But I think a lot
of them would pull. Based on the negativity.

Speaker 4 (44:31):
I would have went the opposite away. I would have
said probably ten percent of agencies would have actually reached
out and canceled.

Speaker 2 (44:38):
And the reason.

Speaker 4 (44:38):
And that's why I asked that question. I leaned towards
ten because I would think good agencies, you're right, like
the ones who understand what's going on here hyping athletes.
And I bring this up because if you might heard
Dan Patrick. Day nine to twelve, they celebrated the eleventh
anniversary of Matt Harvey's famous interview the qual Com, which
is still millions of views later in New York. Athletes
and fans might remember that one of how odd that

(45:00):
was with Tommy John. But I would say ten percent
because what you said, the agency is tied to the buy,
so they're like in this interview, in this promotion, I
as an agency will get paid at X percentage of
this running. Why would I risk buy money if we
don't hear this, My money's attached to this by it's
Aaron no matter what. Again, we've that with different agencies
through I would say about ten percent would have actually

(45:22):
pulled the plug and canceled. Maybe in the past it
was ninety eighty seventy say Quad canceled. It sounds like
to this but I I love it though, But like
back to the Internet real quick, about the scum that
is social media so bad? This is the example of
like certain people in your life cannot get on social media.
There's a scene, this is a random scene, We're gonna
do it and Ralph breaks the Internet. The sequel to

(45:46):
Wreck It Ralph, If You've got Kids, where Ralph starts
blowing up on the Internet. He starts going viral and
he's all excited about it. And then there's a scene
in the movie where he's looking at all the comments
and there's one slide that's just roasting Ralph and he
can't handle it. He's just like, why are all these
people mean to me? There was this story locally a
couple months ago. There was this aid or special It

(46:07):
was like a special aid somebody in a local school district,
and you can find this. And she wrote an editorial
about how she had gone back to school and then
all these things this school needed to fix for this
school to get better, and she got roasted in the
comments because she was so oblivious to life. There are
some things that the Internet will humble you with. You
might not agree, but there are other voices out there

(46:27):
that are usually more negative than positive.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
Oh oh, that's all.

Speaker 6 (46:30):
They are negative, like to the point where you know,
I almost want them to be Russian bots. I don't
want to know that a real person feels that way
about me. There's like three or four people out there
who anytime I post anything, they've got to say something
terrible and I block them and then they just wait
and they hear it on here and they say it whatever.
But like, you can't, you can't live by it. You

(46:51):
you really can't live by the Internet. You have to
you have to turn that off as much as one.
We just had a big meeting about like really expanding
your social media. I'm like, do you so you want
me standing on a ledge? Like that's what you want?
You just want me in a room crying in the
darkness is what you want, okay, all right, as well
as I know what you want.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
I had this really happened.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
One of the nastiest meatst comments that it was ever
wrote about me on the internet was from a Dolphin
fan and I still to this moment. Like I saw
somebody retweeted one of my post esterday with the same logo.
I'm like, oh, he's back, and I just thought of
it like, oh, a negative comment's coming, because I look,
I feel like we both do as well as we
can as human beings, but there are times where you're like, oh, no,

(47:31):
another one's on the way, a negative And Saiquon probably
read all this stuff today and it might effective, and
Dan Patrick probably read this stuff today. I'm glad we
use this for the dumb today because it's got that
New York connection, the Fox Sports connection, the NFC East connection,
social media connections. And I brought audio, so you know what,
I didn't know how I.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
Felt the Internet.

Speaker 6 (47:51):
I never pulled audio, man, I I don't know, like
I guess, Like I said, my only thing is this,
like if you're if you're looking for a soft landing
after a bad game, I would say, Dan Patrick's one
of the softest ones. You're gonna get we and we
would be two again. I was like your roll, I
hear her guests. You'll be treated like one as long
as you're respectful. But like again, if he was like

(48:13):
it was a New York City show, even like Pat McAfee,
I could see McAfee being like.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
You know, you're great whatever, but you drop the ball
that's going on. There's something wrong with your heads or whatever.

Speaker 6 (48:25):
You you missed you miss Dale Jones who throws a
better out pass?

Speaker 2 (48:28):
Jalen Hurts or Dale Jones like something like that.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
But it is more intriguing for that interview though, like,
like I am fully aware that somebody listening around is like,
wouldn't you rather hear Saquon talk about the end of
the game than him pitching doritos or whatever? Like yeah,
but it's a long term play. I guess maybe this
is where we're a little different when people listening to
this conversation, like, yeah, you can get eight good minutes
of content, which you think is good eight minutes, but
he also could get Saquon on five more times and

(48:54):
build that trust factor with him of hey, something he's
gonna say on this show is something he won't say
anywhere else, or.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
He's not canceling you.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Yeah, there's what's the way to do it?

Speaker 6 (49:00):
And we always get the question and like a lot
of times something like that, I'll warn them in the beginning, like, hey,
I got it. I'm gonna ask you about the end
of the game, just so you know, I have not
doing my job. If I don't do that. We don't
have to spend the whole time on it. You know,
as long as you answer it in a real way,
we'll move on. And then almost everyone we've ever been
respectful to that level has answered the question, and we've
moved on. Only one probab Keef lost his ever love

(49:23):
and mind showed him as much respective ever shown anyone held.
He did not return it one bit. We've since been okay,
but still that's that's what actually. You know, there's one
other one.

Speaker 4 (49:36):
You know what my favorite one is. You know people
that hate me? No, no, no, that that rule we
just did.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
There.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
There's probably young journalists out there. Our friend Tracy over
a nine to five the River teaches journalism class. There's
somebody heard that, and like what you get people heads up?
Sometimes yeah, because they're human beings and we're having.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
I don't want I don't want clickbait. I want I
want to have a conversation.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
We don't want a two minute or a two word answer.
My favorite one ever is Sean McDonough because we got
Sean McDonough on and he was I think he's joined
the show four or five times, but one of the
times we called Sean mcdonne. He was at like an
airport and we gave him the heads up. We're like, hey,
here's some stuff we're gonna ask, and I believe you
asked it very politely. Hey do you mind if I
ask you a question about John Cruden? And he's like,

(50:18):
do we have to? I don't want to talk about
John Cruden? And then he waited. He's like, you know what,
not only ask me about Goden. Can we lead it
off with Cruden? It's like, yeah, yeah, we can't, and
he kind of let him have it a little bit.
I'm like, yeah, you know what, sometimes it empowers the guests,
like a probably with this, he probably thought to himself,
he's just there's one place I can just vent my

(50:39):
Gruden venom.

Speaker 6 (50:41):
And get away with It's probably all but New York
like probably like like how many Raiders fans are there?
How many whatever?

Speaker 4 (50:47):
Earlier enough from sarahcuse that they're not gonna get Oh yeah,
the w a er legend Sean mcdonne. You know, I
let him have it a little bit and he's a
Raiter fan.

Speaker 2 (50:53):
All right, we can go.

Speaker 6 (50:55):
Like this that was We've had some fun, We've had
some good times and we've laughed.

Speaker 2 (51:02):
By the way, Sequon also not going to be on
this show, just so you're just to let you go.

Speaker 6 (51:06):
So yeah, and he did not cancel. He just never
actually agreed in the first place. I bet you I
can get his number. Yeah we could.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
I know you could. You just don't. Guys is weird.
Guy says rules on how he gets numbers I do,
which is so stupid. No, no, get them. You don't
have to use them. I just want to have them,
that's all. Guy's like, I will not crawling off someone's dbums.
I won't know it. Everybody does it. Now you can
do it.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
Stu Gott's has a book out called his Own Personal
Record Book. One day I'll write book. I'm working on
a book right now. I got a second book. That's
already thinking about Goz is unwritten rules of a career,
just things he's made up that he has to follow.
You just heard it fifteen minutes ago. I can't play
an audio clip longer in sixty seconds. Nobody knows that
except you me.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
So I'll make it.

Speaker 4 (51:49):
I'll make a book, the unwritten rules of radio.

Speaker 6 (51:51):
The amount of times I just like god'sly we can't
do that, And I'll just make a fart noise and
do it anyway you can't.

Speaker 4 (51:57):
I won't eat in studiout even though I have food
next back, I won't eat studio. I'm kno gonna door.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
Gone as well.

Speaker 6 (52:03):
It's gotta be clean. Like if you eat like well,
you shouldn't be allowed to eat in studio. That is
that is fair, because you do eat like like a
group of raccoons and a dumpster. Like you, you make.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Messes, a little small things like uh. I'll knock on
a door sometimes before I go into a studio, both
when the lights on and also but also when like
it's snowing outside, because you almost like brush your shoes off.
I've learned somebody where if you rub the door, the
electricity from your boots will affect. What Yeah, these are
Sometimes it start as shows I want I won't speak

(52:35):
before Levac says my name for the first time, or
like if I'm rocking the two, I actually won't say
a word. You can play that game later on this week.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Oh say do you think? Until he say do like
a Bill Walton, just go, just go. He doesn't say anything.

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Goss A rule to said he doesn't. What is that
a thing?

Speaker 2 (52:50):
The thing is? You know?

Speaker 6 (52:51):
Damn well, I I only do this, Like the only
thing I still love about this industry after all the
crazy it happen is the conversation. Like if you can't
have you can't do a conversation, even if it's like
someone messages us and we just respond to. The conversation
is what makes this job fun. So I wouldn't leave
you hanging too long, because that's like me monologuing. I

(53:12):
was that sounds like torture. That's like when you when
you have to go out because baby Einstein or whatever
the hell the kid's name is gonna be a well,
actually i'd probably say that for tomorrow enough baby Saquon
is born. Like I'm whoever sits in there, it's never
gonna be the same like back and forth. So it's

(53:33):
either gonna be they're gonna talk way too much, I'm
gonna feel like leaving, or they're not gonna talk enough
and I'm gonna feel exhausted.

Speaker 4 (53:41):
That felt like a marriage statement right there, you're exhausting.

Speaker 6 (53:45):
Eight years, we probably spend more time together than we
have spent with any of our significant others.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
Mark that, sales team, this is here eight of Levac
and gas. What's the gift for eight? What's the eighth's
That's a Lily and David fine Euler question I should
have done earlier in the show. Two years now, sales team,
we expect a massive party for ten years if we
make it though.

Speaker 6 (54:04):
Eighth anniversary gift. I want traditional gifts, traditional and modern.

Speaker 4 (54:09):
Okay, you'll get the Cavito and Rich, we promise.

Speaker 6 (54:13):
Hang on, we do what we want. Traditional gift is bronze,
so you know we get the bronze medal. Where's the
modern is linen?

Speaker 2 (54:28):
I got some shirt here, here's a shirt with a
bronze pin. Happy eighth or is.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
It really our eighth eighth anniversary?

Speaker 6 (54:36):
It's right, God, I put up with you way too
freaking long. You know what the show's over. I will
be honest, think about this. I've never had a relationship
go over a year. So you are you are it?

Speaker 4 (54:45):
You know when we turn off the minks and tug
each other.

Speaker 6 (54:48):
And we just broke up the show. Wash your hands,
don't touch your face. Hit that button and stay in
your room until I leave the building. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Come on, get away from
