one of the best times of the year in San Diego,

Big fireworks showdown at the Bay.

The Big Baby Boom, which was flawless this year. It
really was flawless. Before we comment on the little kerfluffle
way up in Orange County where all the rich kids lived,
I want to talk about just how well done the
San Diego fireworks showing all of them.

I mean, everybody was so San Diego chill.

Nobody threw bottles, nobody threw trash cans in the middle
of the street and let them on fire. Nobody looted
to pavilions. Everybody just enjoyed themselves. We are more mature,
apparently than the rich kids up in Newport Beach. So
thousands of people had their eyes on the sky looking
at that right there, checking out San Diego's biggest Fourth.

What was what has done well in San Diego that
they they certainly did not do as well up in
San Francisco. You're firing off rockets off of the Golden

it was like watching a clear sky, but there was
so much boom.

in Harms County, and this is making a big news now,
the beaches were overrun because it was a TikTok meetup.

And this is what happens with social media is that
everybody knows where everybody is between Snapchat and TikTok. And
I only know this because I have teenage sons and
they are all connected, so you know, it's it would
be like a Pham tree to the tenth power of
all your friends or everybody that is in southern California

that's in your age bracket, telling them all in one send,
we're all going to be here at this pier, and
then everybody gets down there and it's just too many.
And that's what happened, and some people were getting a
little unruly. People it was buying large fine until sunset,
and then there's always a bad apple.

Big firecrackers into groups of people on the beach to
scare the girls. And that's dangerous, so the cops have
to move in, and then people push back, and then
the cops cleared the beach, which pushes everybody inland, and
the only place you can go is the parking lot
of the supermarket, and that's where things got bad.

We have new video out of Newport showing the moment
mounted police officers clashed with crowds during July fourth celebrations.
Things quickly spiraled out of control. More than three hundred
and fifty officers moved in to clear the area and
restore order to bubble a peninsula.

They say, the crowd engaged in.

Unlawful and dangerous behavior, including setting off fireworks, blocking roads,
fighting and looting, right.

And that's always bad. That's when it gets bad now

definitely disrespectful behavior.

It wasn't so much like when we hear looting.

We think about what the Black Lives Matter people do
to the target in Minneapolis, or what the Black Lives
Matter people did in La Mason, Like literally going into
the store and stealing as many clothes and.

There were some displays on the outside, you know how
like on the supermarket where the shopping carts are. Sometimes
they'll have firewood out there. Sometimes they'll have cases of
water bottles, and they had huge cases of watermelon, and
somebody threw a watermelon at somebody else and then I
had that person had to throw a watermelon back, and

that's stealing. You didn't buy that watermelon, and it became
a great, big watermelon mess.

So that's very, very disrespectful. And they busted four hundred
and three individuals.

Four hundred and three people got arrested with a police
force of three hundred and seventy five, which had.

Young people to just sit zip tide in the parking
lot of the pavilions in Huntington Beach up in Orange
County for the remainder of the evening, and you know
that was like getting their names and addresses and telephone

do that, let them sit there. So that was a

boot and there's lots of discussion now about where these
people came, because there's lots of everybody is a journalist
these days. Did you know that because of the iPhone,
every single person where there is an incident is a
broadcast journalist.

Somebody that is where the news is happening with a
cameraman and a microphone. So everybody's got footage of what
happened from every conceivable angle. And people were there and
they were reporting to TikTok, YouTube or whatever platform they posted,

lot of the people that were there that live there
were very upset and very disturbed that people that clearly
didn't live there don't belong there, and we're behaving in
a way.

For represented Newport Beach.

He lived in Irvine, but he was in Newport Beach
a lot, and they would always have, you know, patriotic
days and a great big fundraiser by some wealthy donor
out on the peninsula, and it was great to be
invited to such a thing. Well, I was staffing. I
wasn't really invited, but getting out of there was a nightmare.

And I just remember, if I'm gonna go, you gotta live.

In Newport Beach to enjoy Newport Beach. There areas of.

San Diego that are saying the same way, right, don't go,
stay in your own neighborhood.

and high school kids from all over Orange County and
they all descended upon Newport Beach and there was just
too many of them, and a couple of people got
unruly and started throwing fireworks in the middle of the beach,
so they cleared the beach, and that pushed everybody into
town and they all went to the pavilions and hung

out in the parking lot and got unruly, and everybody's
got a cell phone came.

clear that these people are not from Newport Beach. But

can't come to new Our Beach. You cannot shop at

way up in Orange County where all the rich kids lived,

San Diego fireworks showing all of them.

I mean, everybody was so San Diego chill.

Nobody threw bottles, nobody threw trash cans in the middle
of the street and let them on fire. Nobody looted
to pavilions. Everybody just enjoyed themselves. We are more mature,

thousands of people had their eyes on the sky looking
at that right there, checking out San Diego's biggest Fourth.

it was like watching a clear sky, but there was

everybody knows where everybody is between Snapchat and TikTok. And
I only know this because I have teenage sons and
they are all connected, so you know, it's it would
be like a Pham tree to the tenth power of
all your friends or everybody that is in southern California

that's in your age bracket, telling them all in one send,
we're all going to be here at this pier, and
then everybody gets down there and it's just too many.
And that's what happened, and some people were getting a
little unruly. People it was buying large fine until sunset,
and then there's always a bad apple.

Big firecrackers into groups of people on the beach to
scare the girls. And that's dangerous, so the cops have
to move in, and then people push back, and then
the cops cleared the beach, which pushes everybody inland, and
the only place you can go is the parking lot
of the supermarket, and that's where things got bad.

We have new video out of Newport showing the moment
mounted police officers clashed with crowds during July fourth celebrations.
Things quickly spiraled out of control. More than three hundred
and fifty officers moved in to clear the area and
restore order to bubble a peninsula.

They say, the crowd engaged in.

Unlawful and dangerous behavior, including setting off fireworks, blocking roads,
fighting and looting, right.

And that's always bad. That's when it gets bad now
to be I mean it is, it was. It was
definitely disrespectful behavior.

It wasn't so much like when we hear looting.

We think about what the Black Lives Matter people do
to the target in Minneapolis, or what the Black Lives
Matter people did in La Mason, Like literally going into
the store and stealing as many clothes and.

Nike shoes as you can.

There were some displays on the outside, you know how
like on the supermarket where the shopping carts are. Sometimes
they'll have firewood out there. Sometimes they'll have cases of
water bottles, and they had huge cases of watermelon, and
somebody threw a watermelon at somebody else and then I
had that person had to throw a watermelon back, and

that's stealing. You didn't buy that watermelon, and it became
a great, big watermelon mess.

So that's very, very disrespectful. And they busted four hundred
and three individuals.

Four hundred and three people got arrested with a police
force of three hundred and seventy five, which had.

Young people to just sit zip tide in the parking
lot of the pavilions in Huntington Beach up in Orange
County for the remainder of the evening, and you know
that was like getting their names and addresses and telephone
numbers and data. Burse the cops are no rush to
do that, let them sit there. So that was a

boot and there's lots of discussion now about where these
people came, because there's lots of everybody is a journalist
these days. Did you know that because of the iPhone,
every single person where there is an incident is a
broadcast journalist.

Somebody that is where the news is happening with a
cameraman and a microphone. So everybody's got footage of what
happened from every conceivable angle. And people were there and
they were reporting to TikTok, YouTube or whatever platform they posted,

lot of the people that were there that live there
were very upset and very disturbed that people that clearly
didn't live there don't belong there, and we're behaving in
a way.

out on the peninsula, and it was great to be

wasn't really invited, but getting out of there was a nightmare.

And I just remember, if I'm gonna go, you gotta live.

In Newport Beach to enjoy Newport Beach. There areas of.

and high school kids from all over Orange County and

too many of them, and a couple of people got

town and they all went to the pavilions and hung

out in the parking lot and got unruly, and everybody's
got a cell phone came.

And you have to imagine that these comps were engaging
in this level of stupidity four hundred and three times
on Saturday night because nobody was giving good answers. Judging
from his first three responses, like how much did you
have a drink tonight? And you're like fifteen years old,
you don't say not much? And I think he might

have been carrying a can of a of something in
his hand as he crossed the street. So he's going
to jail. That's a bad one. Okay, this guy, Uh,
he was almost off the hook. This is in the
parking lot of the pavilions. He was in a scuffle,
and I think from the footage that I saw, he

was trying to be the good guy. He was trying
to get people to stop stealing watermelons and throwing them
into the crowd. So the cop was kind of on
his side. But then he wouldn't calm down, and the
cop gave him an out.

Now, there was one play on the ground.

The airport getting I want I want to take you
to gisty and drugon public?

Or do you want to go home? Right? Did you
hear that? Listen to that deal? Do you want to

The kid had idea and he was within walking distance
walking distance of home.

Well, Uh, we didn't have any of these problems in
San Diego. We lived up to our reputation as a
community being chill and uh, you know, everybody had a
good time and nobody went to jail, at least not
four hundred teenagers. And I'm just very proud. I don't

know what they're gonna do now in Newport Beach. It's
clear that these people are not from Newport Beach. But
that's a tough one. Do you stand, you know, at
the coast of Masa Line on Jamboree and just check
IDs and say no, I'm sorry, you have to have
one of these eight zip codes all or else you
can't come to new Our Beach. You cannot shop at

Fashion Island. You just don't belong, You cannot be trusted.

There was some bad news, not locally, but this stuff
goes viral too, and it is a real shame. People
don't understand that. For the big fireworks, you really gotta
get away. You gotta lay it on the ground. Light
it with a good lighter, not not the big lighter.
The days of the big lighter are over. You can
go buy.

Yourself a torch, and go get yourself a torch, and
then once you see the fuse going, you got to
run away. And the big.

Fireworks that you find yourself in possession of the ones
that you know, go in mortar shells.

Don't be screwing with those. It's like ten PM nine.
Some guys go on fireworks.

You guys don't like them, and we're like sure, we
always like fireworks. So we let the first one it
was fine, and then the second one there was like
a broken piece.

Right, the broken piece, mister Finnerty would have been the
great big long stick. And these are like the kind
of fireworks that they fire off barges that cities fire
off barges. Wow, he's not fireworks, he's not bottle rockets.
And uh, he's showing the reporter that this this, this,
this rocket was broken. But we just went ahead and

lit it.

Anyway. No fuse by the.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Way, literally like milliseconds, just like in the explosion, had
no fuse or nothing.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Literally just like boom, no fuse.

So he's literally lighting the side of the packaging. Feel
for this kid, yeah, I feel so bad for me.
He just graduated high school, so it couldn't find the fuse,
so it's just lighting the packaging of his rocket.

No fuse or nothing, literally just like boom.

It was like that.

I looked down and like, obviously I don't see a hand,
you know, just ex flooded like sigrated.

So he looked down and didn't see a hand, so
he blew off his own hand, like.

This is real, right, Yeah, just graduated high school. Now

throughout Latin America. That was a great match, that was
absolutely exciting and it there was such opportun The Mexican
team possessed the ball like over eighty percent of the
time where I control of it and the British team

were down. I got a yet another one of these
red card events where the guy was tossed so they
were up a player. But and there was so many
fantastic shots on goal. It just it was an exciting.

Game or match.

And it was one of those that kind of put
me in the mood now for the rest of it
and certainly for tonight. What was fun about last night
was we could all freely root for Mexico. I saw
there was some criticism. I think Klay Travis was criticizing
Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona for wearing a Mexico jersey.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Well, was Mexico versus England. If you're gonna watch it,
you have to have a favorite.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Why wouldn't I root for Mexico in that matchup? I
really wanted Mexico to win in Mexico City. Did you
see how many people were there?
Speaker 2 (28:00):
That was great. That was one heck of a show.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
And the ratings prove that people are just embracing this
in the United States and in the West and in
North America certainly, and this was the right continent to
have the World Cup and we're great hosts and everybody's
happy and the viewing parties continue.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
And co goo's Phil Ferrar is that a viewing party
and he's going to join us. And the guy that
got read carded.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
They President Trump made a telephone call, I guess, and
it's all been squared away. And then this controversy over that.
Why is the president getting involved? It's the name, it's
the national team. Why wouldn't the President of the United
States call the head of whoever in the world of
soccer and say, as the president of the United States,

I hereby think that was a bad call, and I
support the appeal and the reversal.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
President should do that. I guarantee you other presidents do it.
They just don't have the juice that Trump has.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
And that's so what like people like well, you know
he used influence. Good trust me, they wouldn't have let
flow play tonight if they didn't want to.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
But it was clearly the wrong call.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
And I have no problem with the President of the
United States in this set of circumstances calling whoever, not
saying you know, if you don't reverse the call, I'm
going to have you arrested and have the IRS audit
your mom.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
I'm just saying, call and say.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
On behalf of my people. I think that was a
BS call. So that's gonna be. That's all gonna be tonight.
We're all gonna see Balagan play and how he's going
to be treated. A lot of these fouls, though, are
(29:57):
very u I mean, I'm sure it hurts to get
kicked in the shins, but I'm noticing they all have
shin guards, mister finnerdy, and they probably had better shin
guards than my kids had when they were playing soccer
when they were like eight. These are probably professional grade
shin guards, but they're very dramatic. Anytime anybody gets kicked
in the shin, they roll on the ground like they

have their leg amputated.
Speaker 10 (30:19):
I think that's their spotlight starring moment when they're playing
that they realize that this is their opportunity to really
play it up and come off like, oh, I'm so
agony that just killed me, because they know the camera's
on them.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
That and if they have successfully tugged at the heartstring
of the ref and it goes from a yellow card
to a red card, they get an advantage. They get
one man down for the rest of the match, a
one man advantage for the rest of the match. So
I think that's I think because I noticed they writhe
in pain, and then no penalties called and then they

get up and finished running around.
Speaker 10 (30:56):
Yeah, they overcome their pain so quickly, very quickly.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
But I will give credit to I mean a lot
of San Diegans that were rooting for Mexico.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
It was I mean, it was it was sad like
I really wanted them to win. I was really rooting.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
The stadium was alive, it was an active game up
to the very last second of the match. And in
my heart of hearts, I believe that Mexico had an
opportunity for a comeback, even though it looked, you know,
with thirty minutes left, it looked bad.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
But I think they handled it like adults. I really do.
It was not a whole lot of crying.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
And here's how one Mexican American in San Diego reacted
to it. Okay, England, Telus, that is you guys got
the victory, but after this World Cup, y'all still got
to go back home to British food.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
That's right. Good for you.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
You get the victory over Mexico, but now you still
have the eat British food.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
At least we have Mexican food.
