Speaker 1 (00:01):
There's a breaking ball shadow right, Sugar going up. Castiano's
(00:23):
coming on, chim Chick.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
This is Luke and I on the Phillies, brought to
you by Fox Sports The Gambler. Woo.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
That will get the juices going here on a Wednesday night.
Good evening, everybody. We got the four Horsemen with you,
and of course it is a special episode knock on
Wood edition. Here the Phillies one game away magic number
to clinch a playoff for twenty twenty four season. Let's rye.
We're currently in the ninth inning. One will ballgame, Philler
(01:01):
Phillies in a Brewers here, all tied up all right
around the horn. Allow me to introduce I am Sean
Brace as always Luke Rcaney. He is Luke. He is
our Phillies insider, all things m ob read him at
Crossing broad dot com.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Hello, Luke, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Sean?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
I was saying before we got on here.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
This this has all the feelings of a walk off
home run in the bottom of the ninth.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
But wait what we're well, that's not a good thing.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Let's let's let's let's hope not don't feel great about
the rest of this game.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
But hopefully, well, we'll see what happens. We are in
the top of the ninth one out to to count.
Luke is extremely ahead of all of us, so he
promises not to spoil it for for us.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Here when I'm gonna hit like a five second pause.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, no, you are right. When Bryce is stock goes
yard bottom right hand corner of your screen. Tyler, he's
a new addition here to one of our Gambler streams,
but he's been on the Daily Ticket before and he
runs a phenomenal Twitter page X page. At Phil's tailgate, Tyler,
I apologize. I know your last name is starts with
(02:10):
a P. How do you say your last name?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
So, yeah, it's poetroush. I appreciate being on here. It's
great to see everyone here, and yeah, hopefully we cannot
get the win, but it feels like it's gonna head
to extras.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
I'm not going for the walkoff home run here.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
I think we'll get it.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Listen, I'm not either, just just kind of feels like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Tyler, great stuff, man, And as I said, continue kicking
ass over there at Phil's tailgate and our returning champion
bottom left hand corner from somewhere in the States, Parts
unknown driving. I love it. Mark Henry Junior.
Speaker 7 (02:48):
Hello, Mark, I this is my last night in the
hotel for at least two weeks. I'm very excited to
get back in the good, sweet northeast of this country.
But you know this is going eleven or twelve in
since we went on this sea. You know this is
gonna be one one in the top of the twelfth
(03:08):
when we throw out Colorado would be in the bottom
of the twelfth.
Speaker 6 (03:13):
One one.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Let the magic happen? Where they putting you up? What
type of hotel are you in? Are you in a
nice one?
Speaker 6 (03:20):
On a holiday in?
Speaker 7 (03:21):
I'm almost always in a holiday And you get yeah,
so that's yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Well you know, look they're they're around, you know, they're
all over the damn place. So that's understood, all right,
holiday in, Mark Henry Jr. All Right, boys, let's go.
Let's get the people caught up on what they might
have missed. Uh Luke, I'll come to you. Rehys Hoskins.
Huh pretty good. That was that was a bomb.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
I think Mark might has either lost power or the
automatic lights.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
Yeah, that was that was a top and running.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
That was.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Really that was the one bad pitch in iron throw
on uh, and Reee Hoskins got every single ounce of it. Luckily,
there was a nice homer earlier in the game from
Alec Bowm. So we do currently still sit one one,
top of the ninth, two outs, one two count, Devin
Williams on the mound.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
At least it's a one two count for me. I
don't know what it is for you.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, I've actually had one too. Yeah, well manhead of
you right now? How about that? Yeah, Tyler, I'm a
sick of Why did I mention Reee Hoskins going yard
before Alec Bohm. That's that's on me. What's matter?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
No, he's one of the boys, and uh it's tough
to see him have success somewhere else. But if anyone
on the Brewers will you know, I'm happy it's him,
just wish it wasn't now we're against us, but uh, yeah,
you know, it's tough with all these strikeouts that we
keep having though, you know we're going to.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
The bottom now bottom nine. Did he strike out the side?
Speaker 7 (04:54):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
He geez.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, we're up to sixteen strikeouts on the game.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
That's a good that's our that's our lucky number that
five and oh this year when they strike out sixteen
or more times?
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Uh so is that a real stat? That is a
real stat.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Someone pointed it out the other night. It's either four
hour or five and oh but that's sick.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, that's a six stat. Nasty stuff. That is.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Like mitchkov Manias said here, that is now thirty two
strikeouts in the last eighteen innings.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, get the comments rolling in. We got plenty of
hands on deck so we can be involved. We want
to definitely obviously rock out as long as it takes.
We're here, baby, and hopefully three Martin. Who's coming in
for the bottom of the night.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
It should be that's who at least was warming up.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I don't believe he got the bullpen can at the
camp at the house.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
No, say that he's for sure coming in, so gotcha.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
The eyes are a mark.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I want to ask you a question. Yeah, Phillies best
record in baseball? Are they the best team?
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Though they're one of the two or three best teams.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
I think it's are they the best team?
Speaker 7 (06:19):
I think you can make a strong case for them
or the Dodgers. I would probably lean towards the Dodgers slightly, But.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Is it one two National League for you above all
with the American League.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:31):
I was actually me and Luke were kicking around, uh,
just who kind of our fear rankings for the Phillies
of teams in the NL, who scares you the most?
And we were kind of running down the list, And honestly,
the only team in the AL that I think is
all of that good.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
Is the Yankees.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
Maybe I'm discounting the Orioles a little bit too much.
I just don't think they have enough pitching. I don't
think the Twins have enough in the lineup. I don't
I know, Cleve, it's been unbelievable all year. It's just
tough looking up and down the roster to understand how
they're getting such good production from especially for rotation.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
And Houston.
Speaker 7 (07:11):
It's I guess it's like Houston and the Yankees are
really the only two teams from the AL I'm taking seriously,
and Houston's probably a little bit of like retro bias nostalgia.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, yeah, Mark, what are your thoughts on Cleveland? I
know you're not as high on Cleveland as a lot
of people.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I think they're good.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I don't think they're kind of like you said, I
don't think they're better than.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
I'd say probably Houston.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
I thought they played way above their head in the
first half. And then we open up the ninth ending
with a double to the gap or.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
It is a triple.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Oh went on third, guys, this stream might end really quick.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Wow, tripled to the corner to get it started.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Hello, this one, this one might end quick.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I'm sure good.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
They have those three hitters for Cleveland, and then they
really just I mean.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Noel's really stepped up, so I guess you could throw
him in the next too, But they really just don't
have a lot of depth in that lineup, and their
rotation is like shockingly aceless. They have an amazing bullpen.
They're a little bit like the Brewers, except I take
the Brewers a little bit more seriously. I think the
Brewers have a little bit more pop in the lineup.
I know Jose Ramirez is uh whose Ramirez is probably
(08:36):
the best player on either team, But I think the
Brewers are a little bit of the rich Man's Guardians
in my opinion.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
I take a little bit.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Well, let's get Tyler a question before this game ends.
So Tyler rank them American League. Anyone who scares you
the most? Is it the Yankees above all? Or is
where you are?
Speaker 4 (09:00):
I think I'm still going with the Astros, and that's
really just because of their postseason success. They continuously keep
making it to at least the Alcs. I think that
the Yankees currently have more talent on their team, but man,
that Yankees bullpen is.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
Just pretty rough.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, and I'm just more afraid personally of the Astros.
Cleveland keeps finding ways to win, as you all said,
but I don't know, There's just something about the Astros.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
They just never go away.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
They would be my biggest concern in the AO.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
And it feels like they're always the team every year
that they don't always have the best regular season like
they've They've obviously had really good ones, but like they're
a team that the second you get to October, it's
just like a snap of a finger and they're just
like an immediate thread.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Again, Hey let me, let me, let me get to
the game. Sorry, but real quick, why not walk him
and load the bases up? As he just struck him out?
But I'm just what why not?
Speaker 7 (10:00):
Now?
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Why not walk and and load the bases up, curious.
Sorry to cut you.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Off, because they're not going for the double play. If
you turn a double play, the game is probably gonna end.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
If you're trying to roll to the man on third
is gonna score?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
No, Yeah, not double play force at home.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, like the matchup, that's a matchup thing. I'd probably
say right now.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Right now, William Thomas.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Yeah, and the other one was Garrett Mitchell. So I
think it was worth not walking in.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
I could have seen them doing it with a Domis.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
But yeah, I'm not and I'm I'm not going to
say the stack because that'll it'll be a complete chinks.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
But he's not. He's not fared well.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Great, So right now the plan of attack for the Phillies,
and this is obvious, is to strike him out, right, Like,
is that? Is that how they're assessing this right now?
With the matchup.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah, I mean they're definitely in They're they're definitely in
field in.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
If I mean, obviously you would love a strikeout but yeah,
if any ball on the ground, they're obviously coming. Yeah,
they're going home. Yeah, Bone's playing a little farther back,
he is, he has some more time.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
But yeah, I mean they're they're, they're, they're mainly in.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Let's see what you've got to too, Uh, one out,
second and third, William Domas at the plate, Carlos Estevez
on the mound.
Speaker 6 (11:27):
He just pitch off.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
I don't know how our times are matched up here.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
If you can manage to strike him out, that would
be huge.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah, that would be ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
And and even even a walk here is it wouldn't
kill you. You'd rather a walk than a ball and
play for sure.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
But I think Bowers is in the top like ten
or fifteen of double plays too, so they probably would
pinch hit for him.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
But yeah, and then now and then now obviously, like
you said there, Sean, if he does walk, you'd probably
go middle middle infielders back to try and roll it
in the middle.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I would say, corners would probably still be up.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
But if he does get on, they'll probably try and
go for the double play up the middle.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Hopefully he does that.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Leave believe they did just walk him.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
You're a full pitch ahead of me because he just
missed that pitch or he just filed it off, same
right down the middle.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Yeah, I just got the walk.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, so faces loaded one out.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I believe.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yeah, it is hours at the plate and on deck
is Reese Hoskins.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Oh man, Yeah, that's great. He's got a double on
the night too, right or is it there was just
a single?
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (13:00):
He is a homer and a double.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Esteve is not a top four reliever on this team.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
And there's a ball down the first base line and
the yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
All right, well.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
What why for that ninth U screenshot?
Speaker 7 (13:21):
It obviously garbage ninth after eight innings with the Bruce
score in one run, you.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Get one run, four runners. That guy he's not that good.
I know he look good a couple outings in a row.
He is not the guy who.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
She's got some heating him.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yeah, I mean I don't fully trust him. I still
think he's like a pretty good picture.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
But he is.
Speaker 7 (13:49):
He's fine. I trust Strom and Hoffman far more than him.
I trust Kirkering more than him at this point. I
think Kirkering is nasty.
Speaker 6 (13:59):
And the hot take for me is I I if
we're going stuff for stuff, I like Ruiz more than
I like Steves. I trust Ruiz more when he's out there.
I know it's been a lot of low, low leverage spots.
It's been a bit more high leverage lately.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
But I would take ruiz In spots over Staves, to
be honest, which isn't great if we're saying is our
full time ninth guy, and I think he's our fifth
best reliever.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
So you're putting Alvarado though, right.
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Yeah, at this point, I mean, Alvarado could work himself
back into that, but and he's starting to it seems
like it, but uh, his stuff doesn't.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Look they're they're they're going at it here a bit
with the umpires. I believe it's Rob Tops and Caleb
Cotham and Estevez.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
I don't know what about.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
But well, I just hey, I just put the tweet
out that I was joining you guys. So but see
if we get any action on that. That's funny. It was.
It it ended so fast. I didn't even get an
opportunity to do put a damn tweet out. Stupid there.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
I want to know what they're yelling about.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
Are you guys watching on.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
I'm watching sports.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
They showed him they were, they were kind of they
were going at it with them a little bit.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
So, yeah, the Brewers did drop some confetti.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Obviously, they didn't need this game to clinch the Central.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Uh, but.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
They did now, so they are probably gonna go party,
I would assume.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I think they have a big party ahead of them,
and now the Phillies will look to clinch in New York.
Go to the Mets tomorrow night. I believe it is
who's on the mound tomorrow night for the.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Walker yea, perfectly, we got him. We got them right
where we want them tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Taiwan against the Mets. You guys see that said, I
think you tweeted it ty Uh. Walker's e r A
this year against the Mets is I believe a three
flat and every other team it's like a six seven
or something like that.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Like it's absolutely bizarre.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
Yeah, there was another one.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
I looked at like his last five starts against every
team in the league, and he was like three something
against the Mets and everyone else was like four plus.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
It's crazy.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
If they can figure out a way to get tomorrow's game,
move to London, I think Taiwan Walker will probably have
a good idea.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
No, let's never go back to London ever again.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
My first reply, Here we go, let's all settle down.
The ice cold skid is upon us. Will be a
few days before they clinch it. If they clinch it all,
I guess Braves and Mets losing could save us.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
That was my first reply.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
Give me a break, I'm correcting, Bob Bankle, Bob Blankle
great tweet. By the way, my guy said, I really
like the Phillies bullpen mix, but they appear to be
heading into October with their fourth best reliever in games,
and I'm gonna reply and let him know that it's
the fifth and to not disrespect those.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I don't know, I don't. I don't know what they'll
do there.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
I mean, if you get to the bottom of the
ninth of a playoff game and you haven't used if
you somehow haven't used Hoffman, Strom Karkering, I mean, I
think I won all three of those guys at least
out there, Like I don't.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
I'm not the type of guy who like has to
supplant a guy in the ninth. I don't really care
about that. I'm fine with Rob picking matchups throughout and
you know, when the lefties come up, you throw strama
out there.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
When the righty's come.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
Up, you throw Hoffman out there for the toughest, you know,
whatever high leverage spots of the game are. I'm fine
with that, but it seems like they have supplanted as
that ninth guy, which feels weird to do to me.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
So I guess, I guess I got one one coming
up tonight tomorrow. But we are going to be going
live a lot. Yeah, over this playoff run of course,
clenching all that. I even have somebody showing up at
Luke's house dousing him with champagne when we clenched the division.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
I would love him awesome. That'd be freaking awesome.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I know people in Jersey, especially at the Strip Clubstead
are next to the gas stations totch out. Yeah. Hey,
one baseball question, because I heard this on my way
home yesterday or today and I was like, yo, that
is incredible. Will want Soto go down as the all
time home run hitter when he's all said.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
And done, What is he on pace for?
Speaker 1 (18:37):
He's twenty five, he hit his two hundredth I don't
even think he's twenty five. Is he twenty five? I mean, yeah,
he's twenty five, ten twenty five, so he actually turns
twenty six, it'll be twenty six. He's got two hundred
home runs right now at the age of twenty six.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, So I mean, so you also have to think
about it this way though, that he's done that in
seven years.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
So you would have to tell yourself he would need.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Fourteen more years at this pace just to hit six hundred.
I mean, And that's what's crazy to think about the
bonds thing, right is, like Juan Soto would have to
do what he's already done two more times, right, he
would have to get to twenty one years on this
(19:24):
pace just to get to six hundred. That doesn't include
the other one hundred and sixty three he would have
to get to to break it. So I mean, if
the guy plays twenty five years in the league at
this pace. But I mean, if he played twenty five
years in the league at this pace, he would go
down as the best baseball player ever. I mean, if
(19:45):
he played twenty five years of baseball where he's I mean,
he would finish with fifteen All Stars, thirteen Silver Sluggles,
five batting titles.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Like it's two hundred at the age of twenty six
A lot, or am I at? Like I think it's
a lot, right, that's.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
The issue is two hundred at the age of twenty
six is a lot. But you got to think about
when he debuted. He debuted when he was nineteen, so
I mean most guys don't debut at their nineteenth year.
Speaker 7 (20:17):
So I think Brace is saying that that gives him
a chance at these numbers even if he isn't hitting
sixty eight year. It's kind of like a Hank aaron situation.
If you go look at Hank Aaron's kind of career,
he was hitting thirty five to forty just like ten
fifteen times and because he hung around so long, So
Sodo kind of has that longevity because he started so young.
(20:40):
I mean, Sticky and Yankee Stadium would be a good
start if he had to wonder.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Twenty three years for Hank Aaron, Yeah, I'm.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Looking at the list right now, and I mean I
think he would be the next realistic option to even
get close because once he hit three hundred home runs,
the youngest person's thirty one, so and I didn't realize
how many home runs Carlos stan had.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
But he's a four to twenty seven, yeah, which he's.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Gonna hit the He's gonna he's gonna be in the
five hundred club.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
It's gonna it'll be close to see. Does he have
like three more years left in him?
Speaker 1 (21:17):
He's gonna get signed that body.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
What does he have this year?
Speaker 7 (21:22):
He's like twenty something, right, yeah, twenty five, twenty five?
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah, I mean if he can give you, can he
give you four more years in the league as a
good bat?
Speaker 6 (21:34):
How old?
Speaker 1 (21:35):
What is he?
Speaker 2 (21:36):
He's thirty four, He's he's about that, he's about to
turn thirty five. I mean, if he can play till
he's forty, then then then I would. I mean, he's
definitely gonna break it if he can play till he's forty.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
Can't now, No, I always.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Forget that he won MVP.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
He's always and he is uh and he is on
the All Flavor Savor team. He is still still rocking
it to this damn pro Flavor Savor had for a
long time in my life. Shout out Chase Utley. Still
rolling with it. But yeah, g Carlo stand well, I
(22:13):
would like to do this again. Uh. In the words
of Dan l Captain over here, yeah this sucks. It
does suck. Dan, we lost. We were ready to uh
pop some bottles and have some fun and talk about
some possible playoff matchups. All that they can't hit.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
By the way, you just mentioned possible playoff matches. We got,
we got our guy powers sending whatever these.
Speaker 6 (22:38):
Chat Let me just put it on the record and
you can click this.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
If we lose to them, I inject into my veins
the Mets in the NLDS. I am begging to the
Baseball gods to hand me the New York Mets in
the NLDS. They are so much worse as a baseball
team than these other teams, and I understand what they've
been since the All Star break. The Padres are way
(23:03):
better than the Diamondbacks, are way better than the Breeves.
Even still without all these pieces scaring me more than
the Mets.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
I wanted to throw that out there. I desperately want
to play the Mets in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
I agree with that. Yeah, he's the one weasel in
the chat that continues to fire Mets memes and pictures
and it's like.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
Said, we are the new Braves for the next twenty.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Uh yeah, yeah, he's sitting on some sort of veno tonight.
That's for damn sure.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
I'm getting some crazy comments is this going to be
the first team to get no hit in the playoffs twice?
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Whoever said that, I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
That's great, That is great. Yeah, what do your mentions
look like after this?
Speaker 2 (23:47):
We got I got forty one k's in three games
in playoff atmosphere games, and you aren't worried about this offense.
I hope you're right about not going cold in the playoffs.
I mean, I don't know what. I don't know what
you think a play off atmosphere is. But twenty nine
thousand people at the Brewers game last night is is
nothing close to.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
A playoff A well, same tonight. That place was empty tonight.
I said it earlier.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
They had twenty nine thousand people in a game last time,
they could have clinched the division.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Yeah, and they did clinch today.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
And we're doing free parking today to to try to
get more people out.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Wow, Beef might be drinking all the poison the night.
Speaker 7 (24:26):
The Phillies are fifth in the MLB and in runs
like I understand, Like, yeah, the offense could go cold
like their top five offense.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
If we're just going pure production.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Get them up in the get them up in the
box and the big moments, those guys will rise. Look,
I mean at the end of last year, of course,
we know what happened in that series and that their
bets did go cold. It's the playoffs. Like those pitchers
are good. They get in the moment, you know, like
these we're talking about professionals. I don't know. Is it
considered cold if they don't hit for a series? Yeah,
(24:59):
but I don't foresee that happening. I see a couple
of bad games and hopefully Wheeler and Nola and the
boys can hold him down to a run or two runs.
And I love the bullpen. This is the most confidence
I've had in a bullpen in a long time.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I wrong on that, No, I mean this is far
their best bullpen over the last three years. They have
they have six They have six guys who can get
big outs.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
I think it's our I think it's our lifetime, or
at least.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
At least top to bottom.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yeah, I mean you have you have six guys at
the top Hoffman, Strom, Kerkering, Estevez, Alvarado, Ruiz.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Those are six guys that can really get you out.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
And I mean even when you get to a guy
like Tanner, Banks, like he's not gonna he's not gonna
pitch the eighth inning of a playoff game. But I
think that's a guy who can get you some outs
in the in the playoffs. I I'd rather have Tanner
Banks this year than Craig Kimberl from last year.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
I'll tell you that raise it up.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Raised, the banner, raised, the cup, cheers to dreg enjoyed.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
I wonder if do you think the team tries what
tries to tries to grab him?
Speaker 1 (26:14):
No, no, no, he is he's absolutely.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Do you think he just retires like he's he's gotta
call it like he he had an unbelievable career and
two really bad last year's. I don't I don't see
a reason in trying to extend an already Hall of
Fame career like that dude is getting into the.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
These dudes, they can't help themselves. Man, You don't you
think they don't want to get down to Florida in
February and ramp it back up, like you know, it's.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Just like one of those guys that you know, when
he's not closing, it's not there, like the energy's not there.
Kind of reminds me of paple Bon at the end,
you know, he lost closer job.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
It's just done.
Speaker 7 (27:02):
I have a bit of a take that people will
not like. People will not people will not like this take.
People will get upset about this. I so there was
a certain picture once upon a time here in Philadelphia
had an incredible season as a reliever.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Oh alrighty already, I already know what you're gonna say,
and I completely agree with you.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
The perfect, perfect season four is better than Brad Leedge's
two thousand and eight.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
If we're oh, never mind, that's not what I.
Speaker 7 (27:30):
Jeff Jeff Hoffman currently has a one to seven three
e R. Bradledge had a one to nine to four.
Brad Lidge had a two point two war Jeff Offfmins
already had a two point four.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
We have a couple of weeks left in the season.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Just say, wait, wait, wait wait wait, Yeah, but we're
talking about two different situations.
Speaker 7 (27:50):
Right, was used in the highest leverage situation possible every game.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
I mean there's a difference though. Was he used forty
five times or whatever it was, and was he perfect
forty five times? High pressure? Well you're going out there
and he is the closer. Mark yeah, you you.
Speaker 6 (28:08):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
I don't agree with it. I don't, not that I
don't like it, but I I think just the pressure
is so much higher for a closer and something like that,
where shoot, like, hey he was that was it. I
don't know, Lids was seemed pretty cool. But at the
end of the day, there was plenty of times that,
you know, look, even that last game he had to
(28:33):
come through and get that double play up the middle,
you know, and and the end of the regular season.
I don't know that's a take though. How long are
you sitting on that one?
Speaker 2 (28:42):
No? I literally just thought of it though it now.
Speaker 7 (28:47):
We were comparing the bullpens and I was like, you know,
I want to take a look here because I know
Hal's having it. I mean that one seven three e
r A for like the top reliever in the bullpens.
Pretty insane stuff, whether or not only all these ten saves.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
But anybody have any anybody have any bets as far
as one seeds or anything like that. I have a
bet for the overall one spot in the National League.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
I have the Phillies win the East, plus I don't
necessarily have I have the East, though.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I gave it out in July on The Fantastic Sports Show.
And oh, by the way, I will be on that
show tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
So how about that you will also be on?
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah, I'll be on Bright and Early with John Marks
eight o'clock in the morning. I gotta drive the Center City.
I gotta drive somewhere in philadelph I don't even know
where I'm going, but I have to be there for
eight o'clock in the morning. I'm doing it for him,
but that is early. Yeah, that is early. My ass
is getting out of bed. I gotta be rolling out
of here like six thirty. I'm like, good grief, let's go.
(29:51):
So busy day, but a lot to get to obviously,
with everything that's happened in the world of Philadelphia sports,
let's do it.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
The bet I'm tracking it is d Backs to make
the playoffs. I had a huge bet on that from
the preseason, but I would happily sacrifice that bet to
totally avoid Mark.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
You were you were very high on the Diamondbacks in
the Yeah, we we did the one live the one
night it kind of going over futures and stuff, and
I think a good amount of hers were Diamondbacks.
Speaker 6 (30:23):
Yeah, a big bet on.
Speaker 7 (30:25):
I have a big bet on them to win the
NL that I don't want to hit.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
I'll start to go fund me to pay you that
for the to get them out of the.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Y they offer you a cash or no, I gotta
let it ride. But that was what me and Luke
were talking about. We were like, there are only two
games up here in Atlanta, Like, if there's you know,
two games up, intend to go.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
If there was any way to.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
Get Arizona out in Atlanta, in which sounds funny to say, uh,
but that would be awesome.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
I think all fans agree.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Who do they have?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
I mean, Diamondbacks don't have an easy they have. They're
in Milwaukee for four, then their home against San Francisco,
which is a dud, but then their home against the
Padres too, and I mean the the Padres are still
going to have something to play for. They're going to
be in but I mean they're definitely going to be
(31:19):
in there for Seeds still. And then as far as the.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Braves, I believe yes.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
So they have one more against Cincinnati tomorrow and then
they have Miami, New York mets Kansas City. Kansas City
is in Atlanta. Kansas City will probably be in. So
I don't know, Man, the Braves rattle off.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
A few I would, I don't, I don't. I don't
root for the Braves, but I would.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Gladly welcome them getting into the playoffs over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
Are you with me there?
Speaker 6 (31:53):
Ty?
Speaker 4 (31:54):
I cannot do the diamond through that again, they just
seem to have our number.
Speaker 5 (31:59):
But I did do some.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Preseason bets for who was going to win the divisions
and it's not going too well.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
But I did pick the Phillies.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Nice so.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
The Reds and the Diamondbacks.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
So yeah, I think I think a good amount of
people were on the Reds.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I know Mark was very heavy on Milwaukee.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
Yeah, that was my big preseason kind of swing because
they were seventy six and a half at their win total,
and my whole thing was like, yeah, I know that
they lost their manager and they lost colorban Burns, but
this is they didn't lose seventeen wins from the year
before when when they.
Speaker 6 (32:37):
Won ninety three or whatever it was last year.
Speaker 7 (32:40):
So I was on Milwaukee and Arizona were like my
two big the market had fallen too far on teams.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
What did the Phillies number lock at because I had
ninety plus. I had ninety plus and ninety five plus.
I don't know what their actual line locked.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
At, though, something around like ninety and a half.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
And a half. I think their money came in at
the end, right before when everybody was starting to bet,
and I think it popped up some spots to ninety
one and but ninety and alf was the number, and
so yeah, I do. Let's get out of here soon though,
in just a minute. But it's funny I type Phillies
in the search bar just seeing these tweets people, just
the ridiculous things that they're tweeting. I did click on
this dude. Somebody said if the Phillies win the World Series,
(33:23):
I'll eat a cup of salt. I clicked on the
guy and his bio reads as follows grounded and honest,
Nicks slash Celtics, slash Nuggets fan, Embeid hater all to
count Chief out of Sosa. What is the matter with
these people? Bro awesome matter?
Speaker 7 (33:43):
Did you guys know the Tigers were a half game
out of the playoffs, sneaky. I knew that they've been
winning games. I thought it was still like two or
three out. I didn't realize it was a half game out.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
They're they're eight and two and they're like as ten.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
They just completed a sweep of the Kansas City Royals, stupid,
and now they have to go three to Baltimore. But
then after that, the last six games raising the White Sox,
Yeah they might.
Speaker 6 (34:17):
Matt Erling leads this team in at bets.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, babe, nay. Wow, he's had a good year for him.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
He had a really good, pretty good.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
He had a really good first half.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
I know the second half hasn't been as good, but
I mean he's hitting hitting over to sixty.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
It's easy to win when you play in a division
with the Chicago White Sox.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
I mean, how many times do they have to play
the White Sox every year? Twelve thirteen like that?
Speaker 6 (34:47):
That's the Red Sox went five and four against the
White Sox this year.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Is that what the White Sox have won? Thirty two
wins and four of them or against the Red Sox.
Speaker 7 (35:00):
Sucks would have just played the White Sox normally, they'd
have like they'd be in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
This is uh, this is funny right now because every tweet,
mostly every tweet is somebody bitching about the Phillies costing
them a leg in their parlay. I'm not lying to you.
Pretty pretty funny.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
I got one more with the White Sox for you here.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Bring it.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
The Braves are seven fourteen against the Reds, Nationals and
White Sox this year.
Speaker 6 (35:27):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Wow. I love that.
Speaker 6 (35:29):
Wow. By the way, this is like a shameless self
plug here. Brace.
Speaker 7 (35:36):
Brace asked me for a fantasy plug last week when
he was going on SETH Joyner's show, and I only
said I from getting this notification right now. Uh, James
Connor was one of.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
The players of the week from a fantasy.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
How about it? Yeah, So dude, last week they roll
it was only likeation right then on that's on that
same ship, Oh, I said fade Marvin Harrison Jr.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Well, the Cardinals put up like eighty last week.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
Yeah, that's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Alright, boys, before we get out of here.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
This American League, these divisions are toast, Yankees four and
a half up, Guardian six up, and.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
As a four and a half up.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah, Luke Hadland, I had I had Minnesota in the division,
and Luke had the Orioles. I had the Yankees, and
so we split there.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
I did have Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Their bullpen is just absolutely hot garbage. It does say
a lot because I know he was really bad, but
like Kimberl has like at least a bit of experience,
Like it says a lot for them to d f
a a guy like that, even with how bad he's
been pitching. Like they need all the arms they can get.
(37:01):
I mean, Sir Anthony Deminguez is is is he is?
Speaker 1 (37:04):
He?
Speaker 2 (37:04):
I mean he's one of their best arms. Probably he's
gotta be. It's it's a really bad bullpen, like really bad.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
Is Oriols Royals? Like the weirdest playoff matchup of all time?
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Is that? Is that?
Speaker 6 (37:20):
What's it's gonna be? For sure? I mean as long
as I guess not for sure?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Only again I might take the Royals.
Speaker 7 (37:30):
Yeah, it's not crazy. Baltimore's pitching is not like it's
not that good at all.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Yeah, so what it would just keeps finding new ways
to lose. Yeah, so what it would be Yankees Guardians
get the buye and yeah it would be Astros twins.
Speaker 7 (37:49):
Which I feel like we've seen four times and the
Astros win in three or five or whatever.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
And then and then this all. Does this all set
up for them going to No, it doesn't. I was
gonna say, if they matched up against the Yankees again
in the second round, that would just.
Speaker 7 (38:05):
Well, could the Guardians are only a game? I guess, yeah,
They're only a game back of New York.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
So, and then right now I guess for.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Uh National you.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Know you need to take a flyer on right now?
Is the Tigers to win it all on.
Speaker 5 (38:25):
One?
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Throw a dollar on it, right like, dude, a team
that's streaking like this, why not? You never know? Last year,
mark the tape, I gave it out all right.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
What's Arizona right now?
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Jean Brace?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
If the Tigers win it all, I will eat a
cup of salt.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
Exactly Arizona right now? Twenty five to one. That's not no?
Speaker 3 (38:52):
What are real quick? What are the Royals?
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Royals Kansas City are twenty eight to one, and then
the Braves thirty to one, Mets thirty five, and then
it goes Tigers one to one.
Speaker 6 (39:02):
What about the Twinkies?
Speaker 1 (39:04):
The Twinkies are twenty two, twenty two to one. That's
brew Crew fifteen to one, Padres thirteen to one, Orioles twelve,
Astros nine Guardians eight fifty Phillies five to fifty Yankees
for Dodgers plus three ten.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
I won't actually this value.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
I don't think I was mark. I was just gonna
say Ashers they're nine.
Speaker 6 (39:25):
To one, because I I just think.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
If we don't if we don't think the Guardians are
that good or not that good, but if we don't
think the Guardians are like elite of the elite of
the al and the Ashers end up matching up against
the Yankees again, I think it's just another own.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Like I I just see the Ashers winning again.
Speaker 7 (39:47):
I do have to say it, and I hate the
Yankees more than anybody, but it does feel like this
has more juice going into the definitely go season with
the Yankees being this good soda like we and the
Phillies obviously being what they are add some juice to
it as well.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
The Mets are in New York team that's a big market.
Speaker 7 (40:08):
Like this, there's a lot of juice going into this
postseason in a way that even with the Phillies being
in the last two years, I don't know if it's
felt like this. Uh, and you know, the Dodgers are
there every year, so that's not different, but it feels.
Speaker 6 (40:21):
Like there's just a lot of lot going into this postseason.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
I'm with you, and I'm with you for.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
The Marlins making it.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
I mean like it just felt like they barely made
it and there was no steam to it.
Speaker 5 (40:33):
And now there's an actual race for the wild card.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, I would look at he I'd look at Houston
with the starters right like they could. They could definitely
tangle with that lineup and shut them down. Because that's
that's what goes to my mind. Again, It's it's easier
said than done, and it's so difficult to win in
advance in in the postseason, but that lineup is ferocious. Dude,
(40:56):
Like they they could go back to back to back
in a play off game.
Speaker 6 (41:00):
Like that's just stupid, you know.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
So I will say this Yankees, Philly, Sorry, Phillies. Astros
World Series on DraftKings right now is seventeen to one.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
And Phillies Yankees is nine to one.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
Yeah, Yankees.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
The Yankees are plus one eighty to win the American
League Guardians plus.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
Three forty Ashers plus four to twenty five Baltimore five
to one.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Getting at a Zach matchups, good luck. Like in baseball.
Good luck, there's somebody's getting knocked off, right, Like, let's
be for real, somebody's getting knocked off. Oh yeah, it's
not gonna be Dodgers Yankees. We know that. Well, I
mean shit, the Mets are excuse me, the Phillies could
(41:49):
be the one seats. So what am I telling me? Yeah,
I don't.
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Say the Dodgers have enough starting pitching to make it
that far right.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Mark, say, from a lineup standpoint, do you think the
Dodgers have more juice with show Hey, Mookie and Freddy
than the Yankees? Still with Judge and Soda, it's really close.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
I also think Dodgers you have to actor in.
Speaker 6 (42:19):
Taoscar too and Will Smith.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
And I think that's a really good four to five. Yeah,
Yankees lineup, they're just very top heavy.
Speaker 6 (42:29):
Like the Dodgers lineups way better.
Speaker 7 (42:32):
Yeah, you bring Will Will Smith in, you bring ta Oscar,
even bring Lucks in.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Dodgers pitching is horrendous months.
Speaker 7 (42:40):
He's also been hurt a lot this year. I still
think Monky's a pretty good player. I don't even know
what his stats look like on the season, but he
was hurt for most of the year.
Speaker 6 (42:49):
So he's back now. That's a that's a big addition
for the Dodgers as well.
Speaker 7 (42:53):
But the thing about the Yankees I wanted to bring
up earlier when we were talking about them as like
a contender the Bullpends a pro album.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
But the interesting thing with them is they have so.
Speaker 7 (43:02):
Many kind of starting arm options that it's going to
be interesting to see how they kind of play the
play the playoffs out with Nester under a four era
Rodin who's been pretty good this year, Stroman's been fine,
Gil has been up and down, but he's been really
good lately. Garrett Cole really up and down, but he's
(43:25):
still Garrett Cole. Like, that's five arms there. You have
to imagine they're going to have one of them as
a bullpen guy. I think that that could kind of
help the pen if maybe you have one of them
as a full time bullpen guy and one of them
almost like like Ranger esque in twenty twenty two, if
you use like a Nester in that type of role
where you can bring him in as a reliever and
(43:46):
maybe a four inning starter. I think the Yankees have
a lot of options, even if the bullpen right now
doesn't look great.
Speaker 4 (43:53):
I got that testing Stroman out in the bullpen recently.
Speaker 3 (43:58):
That's the guy.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
That's a guy that he feels like if it's he
feels like the bullpen.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Guy to me.
Speaker 4 (44:05):
And he doesn't seem too happy about it.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
No, he can't, like I mean, I don't.
Speaker 2 (44:09):
I don't think anyone's will ever be happy about going
to the bullpen. But he yeah, wow, man, I will.
I will say this.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
The Brewers are party.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
Yeah. Well he This just leads me into me my
take here. And since this is the first one that
we're seeing open the bottles of champagne, I am going
to see how this plays out. But I'm gonna bet
versus every team the following day that pop champagne the
night before. We'll see what happens here. We're gonna come
up with a crafty name for.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
This them to win or lose.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
No, I'm gonna bet against them that I'm gonna take. Yeah,
so they pop bottles, all right, So this is like
the anti party play here. I'm in. We're gonna roll
with the Diamondbacks tomorrow minus one ten Brandon Fat on
the mound? Uh Fat? How do you say his name again?
I don't know. Yeah, yeah, tell me about it. Minus
(45:01):
one tend though, we're rolling with him.
Speaker 6 (45:02):
How do you not remember that in your nightmares?
Speaker 1 (45:06):
Well? When I said it wrong three times.
Speaker 7 (45:09):
A week, no question, he said the name and a
joke went down my spine chills.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
So we're rolling with that. I had one other thing, Oh,
does anybody see anything on the timeline of what they
were yelling about? Still wondering, I haven't, No, I don't.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
I don't know if you saw anything.
Speaker 5 (45:31):
Time, but no, I know that, Rob.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Oh, here we go from from Nick, from from Nick picone.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
I wanted them to acknowledge me as their tribal chief,
he said. Rob Thompson was arguing about so stupid.
Speaker 7 (45:50):
Wait real quick, Shoan Brace this is my I was
comment and yelling at you in your in your Daily
show today.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. I saw you're a fire and
I'm like not.
Speaker 6 (45:59):
To switch sports. By the way, I like agree almost
one hundred percent with what what.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
I got over the top. I know, kill me, he said.
Speaker 6 (46:07):
I don't see the Eagles win an either game against Dallas.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
I was like, I don't right now. I don't like
Dallas is thirty dude, and like it's so the hour
after the show, I started talking myself into the Eagles
are winning this week in New Orleans.
Speaker 6 (46:22):
I don't even know. I'm actually worried they're not.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
Yeah, I was talking myself into it.
Speaker 7 (46:29):
No, yeah, yeah, I don't know if I think you're
still I don't still think I don't.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
I don't know if this is a weird take, and
it might be based off the first two games. I
feel better about the Eagles in New Orleans than I
do in Tampa Bay.
Speaker 6 (46:43):
Well that we have the House of Horrors in Tampa Bay,
It's like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
That's kind of where I'm there. He is off the
poison powers.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
There we go, Yeah, get out the poison put the
bottle down power.
Speaker 7 (46:54):
Yeahsis go indoor MVP, even though he has like one
hundred and twenty point oh ps lower.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Than so like to get on a national show like
I'm embarrassed for some of these people to write a
column like we're talking about with Shoheo Tony right now,
what he's done has never been done in baseball history,
in the history of the game. No one's done fifty
forty eight and forty eight, and this dude's gonna go
fifty to fifty and you got the balls to say
(47:22):
somebody else deserves it.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
We're gonna say, well, it's the Mets fans and their
love for f war.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
It's it's the only stat they know.
Speaker 4 (47:30):
There's a one people that just don't want a DH
to ever win.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
And it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
Yeah, but like you can't say that now, Like you can't,
especially since the DH went universal, Like you you can't
take the position out of the award, Like.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
It's not like these dudes are beer or you know,
softball Beer League players, right, or it's like these dud's
out there stealing bases. He's hurt, you know. And I
wanted to pushback. I heard was somebody said, Okay, well,
if he wins it this year, you know, you might
as well just name the award after him, because once
he starts pitching going through, well that's fine, then do it.
(48:08):
Just the greatest baseball player I have ever seen, he's
a freak.
Speaker 7 (48:12):
Absolutely, brace asks me every preseason where he's like he
always asked me for m v P odds one time
on the show, or we're talking futures and you'll you'll
you'll ask me the odds question on the m v P.
And every year I'm like, you know, I'm not the
biggest fan of the fact that I think show he
just has the MVP carved out for him every year.
(48:33):
I think it's a boring kind of it takes away
a fun storyline of baseball.
Speaker 6 (48:37):
But but doesn't mean we shouldn't give it to him. Yeah,
because we're bored. But yeah, it's ridiculous, but.
Speaker 7 (48:46):
It is true, the fact that he wanted this year
without pitching, and now he's gonna be pitching going forward.
Speaker 6 (48:51):
He's never not gonna win it. He's gonna he's gonna
win just he's gonna have ten m vps. I will
now three already going into the see.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
Yeah before yeah, probably, I mean what I mean you
can say.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
You think he's going to win ten m You know,
there was some idiot that said before he came over here, like,
I don't know if his game is gonna translate man.
Speaker 3 (49:26):
Speaking of F four won seven.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
Speaking of F four, Francisco Lindor has a seven point four.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
F four has a seven point zero.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
Doesn't play the field, he doesn't steal all those bags.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
He's not the mv point well, he's point four behind
the F In F four, when Francisco Lindor has hundreds
of innings in the.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Field this year tell the whole story.
Speaker 7 (49:55):
He's going to become the second player in MLB history
to win more than three piece.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
Yeah, that's nuts. That, that's that's nuts.
Speaker 7 (50:06):
Only players there's a few with with three Yeah, rout
like Schmidt uh or more.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Bonds sprout poolholes a Rod Schmidt.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
Well I'm wrong there too, Yeah too, I thought that.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
Yeah, it's too Yogi b Stam usual Damaggio, Jimmy.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Fox, Kyle Schwarber press conference. Let's go all right, boys,
I gotta run.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
Well, I appreciate all the way around the horn here,
Tyler Phils Tailgate, you're the best. Luke Arcaney, great job
