Trevor called in to tell us about his first date with Melissa, who he met online and immediately impressed by loving beer, nachos, and Pixar debates. They hit a San Jose brewery, swapped favorite road-trip stories, and Melissa even got Trevor to admit he still sleeps with a fan on full blast. Effortlessly funny energy, great chemistry, and some very solid first-date vibes, so why did she ghost?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
All right? Got my guy Trevor on the phone, and
he is smitten.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
He's sprung. I hope you don't mind him talking about
you like you're not here, Trevor. But Melissa, I wrote
it down. She loves nachos, she loves beer, and she
has a great sense of humor. We need to figure
out what's going on, because you said you got hardcore ghosted.
Does that correct. Let's figure this out. Go ahead and
meet your phone and we'll give her a shout.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Right now here we go? Hello, Hi, may I speak
to Melissa? Please?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Yeah, this is Melissa.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Guys you calling Hi Melissa. It's Marcus calling from Star
one O one three. Good morning.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I work for Star one O one three. It's a
radio station out of San Francisco. I don't suppose you
listened to the show.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
No, I don't really listen.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
That's cool.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Sorry, what's this about?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Sorry?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I'm wondering if you have a minute to discuss a
date you've been on recently. So we do something on
the show called second Date Update. And I'm calling on
behalf of a guy who says he just took you out.
He's feeling like maybe you ghosted. I'm trying to figure
out what. Frankly, nine point nine out of ten times
somebody did something wrong. So did he do something wrong?

(02:58):
His name is Trevor. Would you mind talking about your
date with Trevor for a sec?

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Ooh do I's going to be like on the air.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Yes, Yeah, that's so.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
He called you guys to talk about the date.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yes, can you tell me about it?

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I feel I don't really like to talk bad about people,
you know, like behind your back or whatever. But I mean,
what do you do? Yeah, we did. We totally, We
totally went on a date. Yeah, we had been texting
and things were feeling pretty good. I'm not he's not
like like a monster. I'm not gonna be like He's like,
that's fine, it's pretty good. I don't know what he

(03:37):
told you, but yeah, we did go to this like brewery.
We got some we got some food, and conversation was
going pretty good. She got like a little weird.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
He pulls out his phone and he's like, hey, do
you want to take this compatibility quiz?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
And I'm sorry, compatibility quiz? How do you mean?

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yeah, see if we're like compatible as a couple, I
guess I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I used to take those a like BuzzFeed.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Or whatever, Like that's the kind of saying things of
like what what house?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
And Harry Potter or you whatever.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I don't know. But he's like, yeah, take this quiz.
This thing must have been like a hundred questions. He
was crazy. And then I'm going through it. I'm like
trying not to take it too seriously. Because of like,
all right, we're just like waiting for more drinks or whatever,
and he kept savings like, oh wow, like we're really aligned,
and oh yeah, this seems like I can see this

(04:32):
being long term, like your answers are like still on point.
And then so there was that and I'm like, all right,
they like once this is done, like we can just
kind of move on. But then he had the weirdest
eye contact. I don't know what, but it was freaking.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Me the hell out.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Yeah, he was like texting me after I don't know.
I sent the one text to lem not like I
got home okay, but then after that I didn't really.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Got it.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
The other part of this is that so Trevor is
actually on the phone listening again. Sorry, trying to create
teachable moments.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Here, Melissa. It's science. It works. It's the did you
I red you? The thing?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You're hot right now, you're a little hot, so to
take it down, you're to ten.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
The thing is, it's like it's a built in conversation starter.
So I think, I mean, it's basically you're basically playing
that game would you rather? But you know, but as
well as that, it's like, you know, wouldn't you rather
know that instead of wasting your time, you know, you
might be with the right person instead of the wrong person.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Uh huh, Yeah, I don't really believe in that kind
of thing. It was a lot at one, you know,
I got it, But I think you could totally find
someone who is into that and like wants to take
quizzes together.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, Trevor, I feel like this is a little aggressive
for a first date.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Maybe like a third Yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Well, here here's the thing. First off, thank you for
calling her, and I just want to officially say, you
know what, Melissa, I don't think we are a match.
So I'm glad we got that settled. And you know what,
I think we're there. I don't even I don't need
this science to prove that because here we are.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
All right, hang on, then that's not happening. It's a
second date update. There you go.
