Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now it's seventeen woars Beat on the Street with Natalie
Migliori and a very good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
It is Monday, Natalie mcgleory, Good morning too. Camera's ottow
in for Larry. By the way, Larry had Lil car trouble.
So what do you got today?

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Good morning, Ken, good to talk to you. Well what
do I have today? Once on Music Moguls, Sean P.
Didy Combes is set to face a jury in his
federal sex trafficking and racketeering case today. Opening statements could
get started as soon as nine thirty this morning, a
little over a half hour away. To have people been

(00:39):
paying any attention since did he landed in custody more
than half a year ago.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I got my own concerns.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
I'm not really worried about him.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Never really was much of a fan, so it's all
the same to me.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
It's disgusting really when you think about it, that men
would do something like that to women.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
If it's true, if they all of that is crazy
because everybody will listening to women and all that.

Speaker 6 (01:00):
So to viocus as sex traffick, he needs to do,
you say.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
You know, he played a very big staple for the
Black community. He was. He's a public figure. He's a
person with money and I think for the generation that
he helped kind of bring up, it's real. It's a
real big disappointment.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Did He, also known as puff Daddy, previously bleeded not
guilty to charges that include sex trafficking and transportation to
engage in prostitution. Combs's ex girlfriend Kathy Ventura, is expected
to be a witness for the prosecution, along with an
unknown number of victims. However, the outlet Deadline reports the witness,

(01:39):
who goes by victim number three, was nowhere to be found.
Just hours before opening statements.

Speaker 6 (01:45):
Switish suspicious was going on. I guess they got to
get more info and try to find out which this
person is located at, because he's definitely hiding something.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
It's questionable hoppen how people go missing around the person
that's been on trial. They're probably getting paid off or
you know, suicided.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
That trial is just for me is like wow, crazy
because it's like they have people and then it's like
they take some people away because the hot way he
been doing and everything, so it's just like mom blowing.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Well, jury selection is supposed to be solidified this morning.
Those twelve jurors will probably have to prepare to have
their minds blown. Prosecutors say they have a lot of evidence.
New Yorkers saying, yours are probably nervous to sit on
this case.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Probably there's probably like a lot of pressure and also
just a lot of like weird.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Stuff going on, So it would be a little nerve wracking.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
I think, yeah, it's.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Possible, but if you do a lot of bad things, it'll.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Catch up to you.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
I mean, there's somebody who is a public figure that
had their their car, you know, tampered with. So I
would definitely be afraid for myself if I was somebody
who's just like a regular person.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, what that New York is talking about. There are
accusations that Diddy blew up Kid Cutty's car more than
a decade ago. Those surfaced in Cassie Ventura's allegations in
her twenty twenty three civil lawsuits. So the fifty five
year old has denied more than one hundred assault allegations
and lawsuits, taking to social media before he was taken

(03:19):
into custody to say he would fight for his name
and his family had me wondering if people think Diddy
will beat the charges.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Not come out of it on scathe, but I think
that he won't see we won't see the justice that
he deserves because he's that big of a figure.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Honestly, that is my concern. That is definitely my concern
because he is a person of power. But honestly, I
do think that times are changing and for the evidence
that is presented, I'm hoping that justice will prevail.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
That's just the way it is when you got money,
a lot of things to go underneath the copy until
the truth comes out. Unfortunately, I think, yeah, eventually at
the end, he will do time. The trip will come out,
sooner or later.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
The people that was doing things with him is like everything,
everybody just splurs their own ways so they don't have
nothing to do with him. Why he's going through what
he's going through because they don't want to get in
trouble like him.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yeah, well, this could be as long as an eight
week trial can. So we'll just see if opening statements
get to that point today, if they fit, the jurors
and swear them in, and it could take eight weeks,
if not longer, to see what side this comes out on.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Can I just say you get you get the best
most informed New Yorkers. I love their opinions and you
just you literally find the best. I think if all
my years on the street, I can never find the
best people like this, So just kudos to you.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
They're greats.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
I love the fact that these people have such their
awesome opinions. But always a pleasure. Thank you so much,
Datlie for that. It is now eight point fifty nine,
you bet, Always a pleasure to be with you.
