You can still visit the Apple Store at the Mall
in Columbia. Applelat It is April tenth for ten day,
and Oriels are taking advantage of it, introducing their new
City Connect uniforms, which they'll wear on Friday night games
starting tonight.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
They're fancy, bet you brief.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
I like the new City Connect a lot better than
the old City Connect for whatever reason.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, I don't know. I didn't like the black.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I like the they have green in this new jersey,
which is a little different, and I.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Like the insignias and everything. I like the be more.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I'm okay with that on the front and hopefully it'll
bring better luck because it seemed to me I never
did a you know, a scientific cap. You know, I
didn't look at if they won more or loss. I
think we lost more games wearing the old City connect.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
So let's keep tracks starting tonight. It's better when we're.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Together then when we're not here in the morning on
ninety three point one WPOC because you bring calm to
the world. You know other people, and I'll go back
and I just want to revisit why I think that
you got the final rows above all the other ladies.
Because no, because when they did the traffic, they just
did the traffic. When you do it, you make me
(02:54):
feel like I'm gonna be all right because you can
tell me which way to go.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
When you when you take the workaround.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, when you do the brief, it's different than anyone
else because you share and you share and care at
the same time.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I just want to say that. So that is my
song for you.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
I appreciate that, and I'm happy to be here with
a great to have you go this runch.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Music sitting minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
If you don't know like you own music road.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, and the women of iHeart Country, you'll be very proud, Candice,
they're taking over. And here's why yesterday it's not just
Ella Langley with their new album out today. It's all
of the ladies of iHeart Country. They are dominating the
Academy of Country Music Award nominations. I put together all
the statistics and I want you to know that women
(03:42):
hold down the four top spots with the most nominations.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Can you believe this?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
So here's ladies.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, the ladies really did Rockys or Country? Should I say?
Here is what happened.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Ella Langley and Landy Wilson were tied. They both had
seven Academy of Country Music Award nominations, so that ties
them for third most. All right, so you got Ella
and Laney, imagine this in your mind this morning. Why
you're driving The second most popular lady in iHeart Country
and at the ACM Award nominations Miranda Lambert. Miranda got eight,
(04:20):
She got eight nominations. And are you ready for the
woman who got the most Academy of Country Music Award
nominations yesterday with nine nine? And what a coincidence? Her
album is called Cloud nine. So Megan Maroney posted Instagram
after finding out about all this. She says nine seems
(04:41):
to be a good number, thank you, not only because
it's their album Cloud nine.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
But listen to this.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Here's here's what Megan Maroney is up for now Amazing Artist,
Songwriter of the Year, Visual Media of the Year as
the director for eight months later, video for Artist of
the Year for six months later I met six months
later or eight months later six months later right music
event for you had to be there with Kenny Chesney.
(05:09):
She is nominated for Single of the Year for six
months later. She is nominated for Song of the Year
for writer on six months later, Song of the Year
for Artists on six months later for Female Artists of
the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. So happy for
several reasons. One, let's run down the reasons to smile
this morning at six thirty four here on ninety three
(05:32):
point one WPOC one.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
It's Friday two.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
The Orioles are home after a three game sweep of
the Chicago White Sox.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Yes, can we hear for the orial?
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yes, yes, it is. The Third thing that we're excited
about today is we're heading into beautiful weather next week.
I know we might deal with clouds, but listen, Candace,
after the weekend, we're going to be in the eighties
every day next week.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
So starting Ellelujah.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, starting Monday, we're gonna hit eighty today, We're gonna
get up to around seventy seven something like that, sixties
for the weekend, and eighties starting next week. And if
you need one more thing to smile about today, we
have got the news that the Orioles and you shared
this in the brief a little while ago, the Orioles
are introducing their new City Connect uniforms today.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Because it's four to ten day. Are you down with
the four ten?
Speaker 5 (06:32):
I'm down with the four ten.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
It's April ten, right right, So listen to this. This
is an honor that we're about to experience.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
We have got the one and only Baltimore Maria, who
wants to tell you about her excitement with these new
City Connect jerseys.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
You're happy, aren't you? Maria?
Speaker 3 (06:48):
It's good.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
You know when I talked about the jersey, you know
I had to call in because you know, b more,
Bob more, Maria all that. I love that jersey.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, I love it too.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
Several Daddy ordered one. I's already won in place coming.
But if you go on Fox forty five, it breaks
down everything about the jersey.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
All right, Well, can you give us a rundown on
everything that's new on these New City Connect O's jerseys,
Like there's.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
The home run tatcho in there. How they have the
things at Utah Street where everybody hits the home run
and they have them like the centers that Sexton viols
is that they have the name Beanmore represents every neighborhood
in Baltimore. And then there's a jock tag. It's like
the three decades of history nineteen seventy seventeen scoreboards. And
(07:34):
then their trim is orange and then also green was
represented seat metal seat that were green. That's what they're
green for, right, and I love that.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
And in the.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
Camden B stands for eighteen ninety Baltimore Baseball Club, so
that it's awesome bossable when they put together forret.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Well, thank you very much for that explanation there, Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Maria Candice with the breakdown of the new O's City
connect jerseys, we got to get well.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
And I also like how it says from the stoop
to the yards.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yes, so Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yeah, that's it, and we're going to go from the
stoop to the yard to watch the O's take on
some National League teams starting tonight.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
So we've covered the Orioles new jerseys they're going to
introduce for the City Connect tonight. The other big story, Candace,
that I'm hearing about is this story about Apple closing
down their store at Towsontown Mall.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
So this is gonna significantly impact me. I feel like
I'm in there often. But this brings me to think. So,
you could go to the mall in Columbia, right in
Howard County, and then you said that you stall a
post that was telling people to go to Delaware instead.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Well, there's a there's a mall called the Christiania Mall.
It's up near you. It's not far from the University
of Delaware, and I went there a few times.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
In the month.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Traffic all day.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
A lot of traffic to that mall.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
But okay, there is no But one guy was like, well,
you can get a better experience at Christiana. I'm like, well,
but we used to just go to the Towson mall.
But if you're in Glenn Burnie, I guess it's good.
You can shoot over Root one hundred and go to
Columbia and now you don't have to go to Towson.
But starting in June. They're shutting down this and you
said in the brief that Apple said that there they
(09:22):
are doing this because other stores have left the mall
and their traffic is done.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Yeah, so departure of several retailers and declining conditions.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
I don't know if I believe that, because I go
to that Apple store in the Towson Town Center. I
just got an iPad there about a month and a
half ago, and every time I'm in there, it's packed.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
I mean, I know, I agree, and that's what people
are saying.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
And then the union representing the workers in towsand they're outraged.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
But this also brings about the fact that.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Okay, so if you don't want to go to the
one of those stores, or you don't need to, you
could call in.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
But then that's a well you know, right, Well don't
you think that a lot of folks are probably buying
Apple products online?
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Now? And they don't.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
I mean, but see, I'm kind of a slow person
who needs to get a little help, and I'll go
in and for example, real quick, when I was picking
out my iPad, I didn't know which one I wanted.
There's like six different versions you can get and I
needed someone to explain to me, No, for your purposes,
this one is better. And I think that's kind of
the truth. With a lot of the stuff, the accessories,
(10:28):
maybe you can order online. But every time, I swear,
every time I've been in the Apple store, it's crowded,
and I mean they've got security watching everyone.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
That's that many people in there, so.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Right, I've often experienced a line and I went in
there and did the same thing.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
I just bought a computer in December. It was the
same deal.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
I wanted to see it, feel it right. Like you're
spending thousands of dollars on a device, you want to
be able to see it before you buy it online.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
So do you think there's any truth to what people
are saying that Apple's trying to break that union?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Is that what's causing that?
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Because they union on l anyway, the big news Apple
pulling out of Towson Mall and in June as a
matter of fact.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
That's coming right up.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
So if you've got anything you want to say about it,
shoot us at text. We'd love to get your two cents.
Michael J and Candas and Candace. Every time I hear
mister shaboozy I get more and more excited that we're
giving away more trips for our for our iHeart Country
Festival at nine twenty this morning, be listening, good luck,
trying to keep you covered on everything you need to
know to get your day started. Here at ninety three
(11:31):
point one WPOC with Michael J and Candace, We're gonna
have clouds a high in the upper seventies today, sixties
for the weekend, and then the eighties are gonna sock
it to you starting on Monday.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Can yeah, all right?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Eighties all next week?
Speaker 5 (11:46):
So excited.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
We're excited about the Orioles at home tonight, We're not excited.
We kind of discussed this and people are talking about it.
When it broke yesterday afternoon that Apple is pulling out
of Towson Town Center. That is that to me, they're
more important to that mall than even the anchor with
the nordstrooms.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
And the what is the heck Company?
Speaker 1 (12:07):
And may Yeah, because I think that's why I go
to the mall is to go to the Apple store,
to be honest, and yeah, I mean wow, I just
said wow when I heard about that.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
I think that's a big deal.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
I don't think you're the only one.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, so that's the first thing.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And then we want to just you know, to touch
base with you on the text seven seven nine six
too if there's something going on that you want us
to cover or something you need to know about. Just
got this text. Congrats on the new co host position, Candice.
Just you're still getting high fives, So I wanted to
let you know that's coming in.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Thank you, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
And I posted this on my Facebook page and I
was saying, it's been really great to hear from people
in Baltimore all the way to the stars in Nashville,
and our listeners really mean the most to me.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
So I do appreciate and I read all of them.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Right, But you also should be completely honest in full disclosure.
We're all actually second in line behind h Well this comment.
Speaker 7 (13:13):
Hey, everybody is Kenny Chesney and you're listening to Michael
J and Candace in the morning on ninety three point
one w poc Ye.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Just hearing Kenny checking in, and that's all Candace really
wants to hear it, to be completely honest.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
I played that to myself a few times.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, if we call her voicemail, you know what, you
hear it now used to say it, used to say, Hi,
Candace here, leave a message.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
Now you hear Hey, everybody's Kenny Chesney and you're listening
to Michael j and Candace in the morning. On ninety
three point one w POC.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Right, Kenny, all right, all right, a salute to Burnette's everywhere.
What do you think are there more Brunette country fans
or blonde country fans?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Candace? What do you think?
Speaker 5 (13:54):
Well, we did a poll Ella versus Meghan.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
And Meghan did not win in our poll. But boy
did she smack down yesterday. Meghan Morons, she did. Meghan
Maroney has the most ACM Award nominations with nine, just
like Cloud nine her album So Appriate. Yeah, way to go, Meghan.
And we're getting ready to roll here, not only with
Tim McGraw concert tickets. We'll get to you right after the.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Brief, your pop culture protein boost. It's the brief on
ninety three point ONEPOC.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
The artem is.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
Two astronauts returned to Earth today and they face one
of the most risky parts of their mission. Orion will
perform what's called a lofted re entry, dipping down into
the atmosphere briefly, kind of like a stone skipping across
the pine ones before sinking beneath the water. Splashed on
is expected at eight o seven pm and this does
(14:48):
include Marilyn Native Reed Wiseman reads alma mater, Delaney High
School is hosting a splash down party and if you
want to join in their auditorium doors will open at
seven pm.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
No admission is required and all are welcome.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
The Apples Store will soon close its doors inside Towson
Town Center. Apple announced the closure yesterday, setting departure of
several retailers and declining conditions. The union representing the workers
in Towsond say they are outraged.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
Doors are set to close on June eleventh.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
You can still visit the Apples store at the Mall
in Columbia. It is April tenth for ten Day, and
the Orioles are taking advantage of it to introduce their
new City Connect uniforms, which they'll wear on Friday night
home games starting tonight.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
That's a brief, all right, It.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Is Tim time. Anybody excited about Tim McGraw. All right,
here's what we're gonna do.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
We're gonna call today, tell a friend Friday if you
if you would like to go to see the Tim
mcgral concert, and you have a friend that you would
like to take with you. You need to be the
ninth caller because trust me, it'll be very easy for
you to win these tickets if you get ahold of
us eight hundred three two one thirty six ninety three.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Because it's Tim time.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Before we jump on the Music City minute, real quick,
we want to help out a text and Candice, you
got the text there where we have someone who has
a batman issue.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Yes it's batman neck, and they're saying that they've had
for the past two weeks. Can't turn to the left.
Now what should I do? Please give me your recommendation.
So my girlfriend works MedStar and so let me get
some advice from her to help you out. It can
be caused by any poor positioning, typically like stretches, voltaire
(16:40):
and jel and anti inflammatory. There you go, as long
as there's nothing else going on related to neck mechanics, right, so.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
As long as your neck's not broken, you haven't had
an injury. If you just kind of slept wrong, and
she calls it batman neck. So if you have Batman neck,
So again, the recommendation is anti inflammatories.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
And what else a little massage, light stretches and volterran jel.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
All right, voltaran gell.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Yeah, it's a gel. My daughters, you can have it
for like authritis. You might need to know about this
in a little bit.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Michael Jay's Music City minute and sixty seconds.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
You don't know like you own music crow.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
I think I need something stronger than volterran shell. Right now,
here's what we have, and this is very good news
for all of the ladies and country music. Boy did
they take over the Academy of Country Music award nominations yesterday?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Here are the top seven most nominated country stars in order.
Number seven, Cody Johnson, he had four nominations. Number six,
Zach Topp he has five. Number five Chris Stapleton, he
has six ACM nominations. Then tied for number three. So
(17:59):
because they're two ladies, there's no number four. Actually it
goes right from Chris at five to tied at number three.
Ella and Laney they have seven nominations each. Number two
is Miranda Lambert with eight nominations. And let's hear it
again for the number one most nominated star by the
(18:20):
Academy of Country Music Megan Morony. So it's a big
day for Megan. She is up for everything, everything, but
Male Artist of the Year.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
That's about the only thing she would begin to.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Well, She's coming to Baltimore June fifth, so I mean,
you know it's gonna be like we're in the presence
of royalty.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
And big news from Oklahoma Governor Stitt. The Oklahoma Governor
declared July eighth, twenty twenty six, Toby Keith Day in
the state. The proclamation was part of the Oklahoma Film
and Music Day twenty twenty six at the state Capitol.
The day would have been Toby Keith's sixty fifth birthday,
(18:59):
but we lost him a couple of years ago now,
so we'll be remembering Toby on his birthday with Oklahoma's
Toby Keith
