to give you the backstory really quick. Here at ninety

My son has a car and it's in my name
because it was purchased when he was underage. He was sixteen,
all right, but he's paid for it. It's his car.
Even though I have titled it's titled in my name.
He had a ticket in February in Baltimore City, which,
you know whatever. We talked about it and he got
the ticket. We paid the ticket. Tickets paid, however, because

either paid it late or whatever, it got a flag
on it. So his registration expired March thirtieth, and there's
this flag, so we can't get the registration renewed.

It's now expired.

He's now driving around on an expired plate, which I
probably shouldn't be saying on the radio, but here here's
the deal. So I get involved. I'm like, we got
to take care of this. I call the City of Baltimore.
They say we'll get the flag removed. I'm like, when
in the next twenty forty eight hours. Call back forty
eight hours later, when's it going to be removed. We'll

see and then it'll be later today. And then I
call back again in thirty minutes at YadA, YadA, YadA.
So finally gets the point where Baltimore City says we're
removing the flag.

It's going away today, right.

So I call MVA and I get on the phone
and I explain this whole situation to a lady. I
finally get a human and I say to her, we
have a flag from Baltimore City. They say they've removed it.
I need to renew this registration. She's like, oh, you
need to go to Flags, and I'm like, okay, send
me to Flags, which is some mother department.

I guess. She puts me on hold. This was at
three thirty Friday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
At five point forty five, I was still on hold,
no answer two hours and two minutes later, and.

I was said, Michael, I was drying. I was driving
to Ocean City.

I'm like, I got nothing better to do than listen
to this man come on every forty second and say
thank you for your patients. Please hold, someone will be
with you as soon as possible.

So I guess I'm not the only one who's dealt
with frustration at the MVA. We've been trying to get
our kids the registration on the on the tag which
has expired. It expired March thirtieth, and here it is

June and we still haven't been able to get it
updated because of a flag that Baltimore City says they're removing.
But until it does get straightened out, the MVA is
no help. And I called the MVA Friday afternoon again.
It's like this has been going on for two months.
The most recent time I was on hold for two
hours and two minutes and I wondered if anybody's got
it worse.

I think they all went home. Yeah, it was on
a Friday night. I called Candace. I'm like, should I
stay on hold?

It's five forty five now and there anyway, Hi, I've
been on hold three maybe four hours. With the Pennsylvania
unemployment it is absolutely horrible. I go through it every
year as I work in a school district in the
kitchen and I can claim unemployment during the summer. It's
just horrible to be on hold it is, well, I
mean hold for I think a realistic whole time, five, ten,

fifteen minutes maybe.

the estimated wait time is, and then it's completely skewed,

My son has a car and it's in my name
because it was purchased when he was underage. He was sixteen,
all right, but he's paid for it. It's his car.
Even though I have titled it's titled in my name.
He had a ticket in February in Baltimore City, which,
you know whatever. We talked about it and he got
the ticket. We paid the ticket. Tickets paid, however, because

either paid it late or whatever, it got a flag
on it. So his registration expired March thirtieth, and there's
this flag, so we can't get the registration renewed.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
It's now expired.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
He's now driving around on an expired plate, which I
probably shouldn't be saying on the radio, but here here's
the deal. So I get involved. I'm like, we got
to take care of this. I call the City of Baltimore.
They say we'll get the flag removed. I'm like, when
in the next twenty forty eight hours. Call back forty
eight hours later, when's it going to be removed. We'll
(02:09):
see and then it'll be later today. And then I
call back again in thirty minutes at YadA, YadA, YadA.
So finally gets the point where Baltimore City says we're
removing the flag.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
It's going away today, right.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
So I call MVA and I get on the phone
and I explain this whole situation to a lady. I
finally get a human and I say to her, we
have a flag from Baltimore City. They say they've removed it.
I need to renew this registration. She's like, oh, you
need to go to Flags, and I'm like, okay, send
me to Flags, which is some mother department.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I guess. She puts me on hold. This was at
three thirty Friday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
At five point forty five, I was still on hold,
no answer two hours and two minutes later, and.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I was said, Michael, I was drying. I was driving
to Ocean City.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
I'm like, I got nothing better to do than listen
to this man come on every forty second and say
thank you for your patients. Please hold, someone will be
with you as soon as possible.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I had very little patience.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Yeah, well no, I'm just like, I'll talk about this
in the radio next week. And I wonder if anybody
else is having the same wonderful experience at the MVA.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
He's been bottling this registration since last Friday?
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Well don't you think two hours and two minutes is
too long to be on the phone on hold?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yes? I agree?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
And here's my question, and here's my only question. I
want to know A if anybody else has dealt with
this seven seven nine sixty two, you can tax start
with A or high or call us at eight hundred
and three two one thirty six ninety three anybody else
dealt with it? And B if there's anyone listening who
works at the MVA, is it possible that y'all just
go home and leave people on the phone just like

I mean, can you imagine if we just left and
there were people calling the request line and we couldn't
you know they were in?

But they weld?

And it's not just for the NBA, it's I think
in general. Where have you called that you've been on hold?

And a ridiculous amount of time has customer service left
us eye and dry? Okay, all right, that's my question.

I'm just curious, am I the I can't be the
only one, but two hours and two minutes.

Unless you show up in person with your umbilical cord
and the declaration of independence. Nothing will get done at
the MVA, my goodness. Obviously there's frustration around. So the
question is overall with customer service lately. Who is spent
too much time on hold?

We have heard about some doctors that kind of give
you the run around.

Right, I mean it's not just the MVA, it's it's
across the board.

Hey, I've been on hold with the Post Office and Exfinity,
both of which I cannot call it anymore.

Me tax seven seven nine six too? Where have you
been on hold for a ridiculous amount of time? And

Yes, I was there for his whole American idol journey
start to finish.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Six forty nine, Michael Jay and Candace is going to
be a beautiful day sunny tempts up into the mid seventies.
So I guess I'm not the only one who's dealt
with frustration at the MVA. We've been trying to get
our kids the registration on the on the tag which
has expired. It expired March thirtieth, and here it is
(05:34):
June and we still haven't been able to get it
updated because of a flag that Baltimore City says they're removing.
But until it does get straightened out, the MVA is
no help. And I called the MVA Friday afternoon again.
It's like this has been going on for two months.
The most recent time I was on hold for two
hours and two minutes and I wondered if anybody's got
it worse.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I think they all went home. Yeah, it was on
a Friday night. I called Candace. I'm like, should I
stay on hold?
Speaker 1 (06:02):
It's five forty five now and there anyway, Hi, I've
been on hold three maybe four hours. With the Pennsylvania
unemployment it is absolutely horrible. I go through it every
year as I work in a school district in the
kitchen and I can claim unemployment during the summer. It's
just horrible to be on hold it is, well, I
mean hold for I think a realistic whole time, five, ten,

fifteen minutes maybe.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Well.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
The other thing that annoys me if they say, you know,
the estimated wait time is, and then it's completely skewed,
and I'm like, huh, right, I'm still here.

Call me back when you can. That's what I said.

Hey, not on the phone with MVA, but I want
to renew my registration about three weeks ago and I
still have not received it. It wouldn't let me print
the paper that you put into your window so it
looks like I'm driving on expired DAGs. Oh boy, you
know you do not want to get pulled over for
exploit texts. They'll take your car now.

Every year I get laid off for the summer because
oh that's the one we just had. Another a few
years ago, I got audited by the IRS. That was
a nightmare of calling multiple times and on hold forever.

I've been on hold with the post office in Exfinity,
both of which I.

Cannot call anymore. Just isn't good for my health?

Yeah, it is stressful. It is absolutely stressful. Hey, Michael J.
I get it being on hold, but you should have
just paid the ticket right away instead of waiting till
the last minute.

And this is my son's deal and I'm not skirting responsibility.
But he got the ticket and I we had that conversation.
I'm like, dude, here's an example of why you need
to pay it right away. It didn't know you're going back.
All I know is it did get paid. But yes,
there's a flag on it. So whether it was because
he was paid late, I probably was paid late. You're

And again, this isn't just with the MVA. We've known now,
it's just being on all right, I mean, it's just
in general.

AI driven workforce. Maryland State Department of Education leaders will
