on Instagram and everything. Riley Green in your Music City minute.
Come on on, Thomas, Rhet's got something to say.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
To your candids.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
There we go, Michael, Jay and Candace. I've never been
more proud of two people getting to be the voice
of w POC. This is a big deal. You just
have radio voices like you. You were built for this,
you were born for this. You can do no wrong.
And I just want to say thank you for your service.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Upprate, You're welcome. Did you hear that canvas? We can
do no wrong.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I just need to take it all. And hey, our
bosses need to hear that we can do no wrong.
Thanks Thomas.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, so take that clock on the wall and get
rid of that thing over there, all right? So so listen,
uh there, there's obviously, without having to get into the details,
we all know there is craziness going on in the
world right now. And I would I would venture to
bet that I'm not the only one who needs to
(05:02):
get away from all of the anxiety that is around us.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
It's like floating around.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Us and you can't you can't you feel at time,
it's like you can't get away from it.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But we need to get out.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Just when you go to a gas station, it's like
it's everywhere, it's everywhere, it's everywhere.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
How much more today?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, exactly, it's gas, it's groceries. But it's also every
time you hear the news, you just don't want to
hear it. I want to turn it off, not on right.
So we're looking, Yeah, so we're looking for ways to
really unwind and plug into, you know, relaxing. So I
found a woman named Claire Jeffries who wanted to get
(05:40):
away from the war in Iran and rising gas prices
and she just wants to commune with nature.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
So she treated herself to.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Something maybe we need to try a little forest bathing.
And when I first heard that, I'm like, what if
she got like a dub out there? What is going
on in the woods that I need to know about?
She says, well, look I'm here. It's almost like being
in nature is like a protective bubble around me. She's
a human resources director and she says amid the oaks
(06:11):
and the flowering magnolias. As long as you don't get allergies,
you shouldn't be good. See, because I'm allergic to rhododendrons,
So if I get to you near them, I'm like,
you're starting right backing up on me. So as long
as that doesn't bother you, she says, Like Sunday morning
this past weekend, she was led by a certified forest
(06:32):
therapy guide. See, I just mentioned rhododendrons, and I start
getting backed up.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
She says.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
They were in the woods and they meditated and they
did breathing exercises to commune with nature, and that is
how they are getting away from all the craziness in
the news. I don't disagree. I might try that. I
thought of different ways you could bathe in the woods.
But hey, well let's look at you.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Know, there have been right that say that focusing on
your breath is certainly helpful when it comes to relieving
and alleviating stress. And we know that there is something
to be said about nature and just being around nature,
So right, I could see how this could work. I
don't know that I need to go to the NCR
(07:19):
trail today and somebody, you take your shoes off bathing.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
I was told there's something called grounding where you take
you got it. Yes, you got to take your socks
and shoes off, and you got to actually have your
bare feet on the bare ground, right, and or you
can hug a tree is the other thing I've heard.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Have you ever heard of hug a tree? Hugging? I've
heard of the grounding.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Yeah, so we're wondering does anybody do this and does
it work for you? Because I got the breathing down.
Let's do six seconds in and six seconds out through
your nose?
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Are you ready? One?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Two, three four OCAs here we go, now, breathe out.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Don't feel like you're rushing.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Learning about hugging trees, bathing in nature, trying to find.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Ways to distress. How do you do it? Tech?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Seven seven nine six two start with hay or high
you can let us know. I think we all do
need some sort of stress relief right now. I tried
the breathing thing and it actually does kind of work
with Candice.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Is there anything you do to try to distress so
the breathing thing does work.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
I try to send my car for like five minutes
and just have quiet, right, moms, you got me.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
You understand. Actually, all parents they understand.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
So my daughter does aerial silk at a yoga center, right,
and it seems to be really calming, Like they have
five minutes after the actual yoga that they sit and meditate.
And I'm like, there seems to be something do that.
I could see it, hey, and it's you know, it's
(08:57):
at a yoga facility.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, look at this text that just came in side
note about grounding. Two Christmases ago, my husband bought me
a grounding sheet for our bed. It helps you go
into a zen sleep, deep sleep and stay asleep. And
there are a lot of days I will wake up
in pain because I'm in the same position that I
fell asleep and when I went to bed.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
So you don't necessarily have to go hug a tree
to ground yourself.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
But I finally slept through the night without waking up
thirty times.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
I'm a girl who needs my sleep. So there you go.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Maybe, okay, we understand, right.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
We'll get to a few more tips that are coming
in ninety three point one WPOC Michael, jan and Candice.
We've been getting a lot of text because we were
talking for the last few minutes about ways to cope
is how I'm putting it. With all that's going on
in the world, and you know, I don't need to
tell you what's happening in the news. We all hear
about it, and it's it's enough already, right. So we
(09:55):
came across a few ideas. One woman likes to go
in into the woods and bathe. But she's not actually
in a tub. She's calling it. She's calling it bathing.
She's bathing in the you know, with the trees over
her head. She says, that does it for her. Other
people are into grounding, where you take your shoes off
and you walk on the you gotta be barefoot, and
(10:17):
you walk on the you know, the dirt.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Hey, two or three times a year. Here's a text.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
I go to the boys and girls at Harford Air
Services LLC. We go fly an airplane for ninety minutes.
It fills my bucket up. Lets me deal with life
on life's terms for you know, another several months after
ninety minutes soaring in the air, life's problems don't seem
to be as big ABC at abingdon Well, you know,
(10:46):
what do they say, Rocky Mountain high. When I'm stressed,
I crank up Old Dominion on ninety three point one
WDPOC and that makes this exter happy.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I love that. Hey.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
My stress relief is called gun therapy at the gun range.
I relate to that because I go to guntry and
I like to shoot on the pistol range.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
And it does. You know what it is because you're taking.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Your mind away from all of the anxiety ridden things
that are around us, and you're really focusing on a task.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
And it does. It does relieve stress, believe it or not.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Hey, morning, sunlight, grounding, breath work, and don't forget cold plunging.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah, you know, I haven't tried that one yet.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
And I don't know about taking off my clothes and
jumping in thirty degrees. See Michael jan and Candace celebrating
our one week anniversary being together here. Yeah, being the
full time co host. Way to go, Candace, you are
pop culture protein boost.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
It's the brief on ninety three point one WPOC.
Speaker 2 (11:47):

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Much victims, businesses, and the state of Maryland ultimately recover.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
That is your brief.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Michael Jay's Music City minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
You don't know like you own music.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Row Well, does anybody remember the song the Streak? I
know it's going back a few years, but in fact, may.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I can let me see if I can do it?
I don't know if we have it in the system
or not. Oh, you know what we do.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
So here's just a little snippet of a song that
came out was a big hit way back I think,
like in the nineteen seventies, and it's called the Streak. Listen,
go ahead, take it away there, buddy, And he ain't
wearing the glow.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
I call it the street. Yeah, country music was a
little different back then anyway.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
That is Raised Stephens, and he is a Country Music
Hall of Famer and somehow this week he fell and
he broke his neck. I mean people always kind of
joke about I'm gonna break my neck. He actually did,
so we're sending prayers up for Raised Stevens. That's not good.
(13:50):
I mean, you end up, you know, paralyzed, and I mean, geez,
that's horrible. So hopefully they figure a way around that. Also,
in the Country Music News, we are counting down to
nine to twenty. I wanted to give you about an
hour's notice because at nine to twenty you're gonna want
to make sure you're listening carefully so I can send
you to the iHeart Country Festival. Got another trip to
(14:11):
give away for that. I don't know if you heard,
but Riley Green is going to be at our iHeart
Country Festival and he has been teasing new country coming out.
He put a post on Instagram with a little snippet
of an acoustic song he's working on.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
See what you think about Riley Green?
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Oh, letgend know. Surely only always on my mind. See
if there's a chance in hell you won't see me.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
I think he needs to work on that song a
little bit more. But that's him in the product. Well,
I'm just being honest. I don't think it's a done
project yet. It's it's a little raw and real.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
You know who, you make up your mind imagine that.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Oh you know what I'm saying right? That is your
country music minette.
