Speaker 3 (00:40):
We're all feeling that warmer weather, but a part of
winter is lingering.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
I'll have the details and how it can affect you
coming up with the breath.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Oh No, ninety three point one WPOC lke coms is incredible,
just incredible. Michael J and Candace in the morning, getting
yours started.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
You are puck culture protein Boo.
Speaker 6 (01:00):
It's the brief on ninety three point ONEPOC.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
We're feeling the warmer weather, but a little bit of
winter is still here. At the Old Town Parking Lot,
crews spent yesterday moving and spreading what remains of a
massive snow pile. Wow, it's been there since January and
now it doesn't look like snow. People are saying it
looks like a dump. The pile is dark, it's packed
with dirt, gravel, trash, debris, and it's about twenty feet tall.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
But this has led to many issues.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
A local real estate developer claims several of its properties
experienced water leaks in the days following the pile's arrival.
Department of Public Work says a broken pipe beneath the
pile was repaired last week.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
However, they don't have.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
An estimated time for renewal for the water loss, so
they can't share a timeline of when the pile is
expected to be fully melted or be removed. Buttimore County
Police announci arrest of fifty seven year old Randy Nelson,
who they allege ordered food and drinks before leaving with
out paying. Nelson's court record reveals a slew of charges
(02:03):
for skipping out on the checks, stealing alcohol, and drunken
disorderly conducts spanning three Maryland counties. He charged with running
out on his check at Mazzoni's and El Salto and
stealing snernoff ice from the grape and grain in Nottingham.
In Enrondo County, the county has protected forty seven acres
of land near the Annapolis Mall, contributing to the goal
(02:24):
of preserving thirty percent of natural land by twenty thirty.
The newly protected property is part of the Saltworks Creek
Natural Area and adds to a larger two hundred and
seventy seven acre block of protected forests. It was originally
planned for townhome development, but the land is now permanently
protected for conservation and public access.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
That is jibrief.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Hey, real quick, can we give a shout out to
cavern Let's do it cavern snowballs. We had people showing
up yesterday getting their free snowballs over here.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
Joined a nice free still bowl, cavern stew bowls and
here Pasady in Maryland.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
Support your little radio station WPUC.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
There you go, give us two minutes, just two minutes,
we will give you a country star who's originally from Hawaii,
who doesn't like to wear his shoes, loves to be barefoot.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Baby. He's from rinkin Georgia, where he was born.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
There, but he spend a lot of time in Maui
and at Kula Pay.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
He has mister Hawaii.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Ye, I'm learning all new things today.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Billy Carrington, he loves Hawaii. Okay, whenever he's not on
the road, he's in Hawaii.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
I've never been. Let's take our show on.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
The road before we jump into Michael Jay's Music City Minute,
a shout out to Baltimore, Maria, Baltimore, Marie. She says
she has never seen so much dirty snow. It's making
Baltimore look nasty.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, and she says she calls it a dirty frosty
other people Karen is talking about. Did someone say snowballs
chocolate egg custard mixed with marsh Hey.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Good morning, Happy Tuesday, Happy wedding week to my sister
Morgan and her fiance.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Noah, congratulation. All right, that's hot in from Parkville. I'm
still relatively new to the area. Can you explain what
exactly a snowball is?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, stay tuned here, we're gonna tell you all about
that music.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
City minute in sixty seconds.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
You don't know, like you own music road.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
We'll get to snowballs again. The update at six point thirty.
But right now, Michael Jay's music City Minute, let me
just say it all in one word, Ella imagine that. Yeah,
so listen, Ella has done it again.
Speaker 7 (04:35):
She is.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
I mean, what can I say on her album that
she just dropped last Friday, which is the number one
album in the world, number one country album. Her song
Choosing Texas just spent its sixth week atop the Billboard
Hot one hundred. I'm not talking about the country charge.
I'm talking about the one that's got all the hip
(04:57):
hop and hooptie dews on it. Right. Yeah, this is
the number one song in the world, according to Billboard
Hot one hundred, and it extends her reign as the
longest running country number one single by a woman in
Hot one hundred history, totaling six weeks. Now you can
compare her to all the rest. No one else has
(05:19):
beaten her, okay, which she's done so far. This is
truly something record breaking that she's doing. Now you might think,
what about Dolly Parton? Well, what about her? The University
of Massachusetts Lowell conducted a survey about a lot of
public figures and their favorability scores. The results showed that
Dolly Parton is the most beloved person in America. Oh,
(05:41):
I believe that she has a plus sixty five score.
The most shocking thing to come out of the survey
is that six percent of the people's surveyed.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Had never heard of her.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Huh, six percent said, who's Dolly parton ninety.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Three point one WPOC traffic as him?
Speaker 4 (05:59):
It's not inside of two ninety five.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
The activity right near one ninety five it is stop
and go traffic from Nursery Road. And then there's also
an accident out along this upense side of one thirty
six at Chuck's Road that's in Harford.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
County, on a loops out of the belt Way.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Seeing that volume now Harford Road down through Providence Road
west side stretch from seven to ninety five, down through
the triple bridges and eventually up towards forty in Caytonsville.
And then twenty nine is seeing the volume that's filtering
in but at least running without incident.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
I'm kenda stole him. That's your traffic.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
So since Ala Langley's number one, can I get an amen?
Should we play it next?
Speaker 7 (06:31):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Of course? By all me.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
I'll tell you, I'll make a deal with you.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I'll get to play Ella, and for you, I know
you want equal love time, So I'm going to give
you the man who was voted best chest in Country Music,
Best Him, Best PX in Country Music, Tavy Tim He's
on the.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Way in a minute the awards at the CMA's later
this year.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I predict right now in November, put this down so
we can play it back in November. She's going to
be album the Song of the Year, Single of the Year,
Female Artist of the Year, and who knows what else
could happen, I predicted all a ginormous elbration.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
I don't know who needs to hear this, but Ella
is coming to Baltimore July eighteenth, and if somebody can
please make sure that this man, Michael j interviews Ella
when she comes here, that would be much appreciation.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I'm no longer saying that Ella is opening up for
Morgan Wallen, Morgan is closing for LS. Oh my goodness,
it's an elebration you okay, all right, Michael, Jay and
Candice in the morning here at ninety three point one WPOC. Now,
we just want to catch you up with what happened
so far this week. It has been a snow asis
around here. It started because the weather, you know, today
(07:42):
again and we're going up to ninety right.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
My daughter wanted a snowball over the weekend, and I'm like,
I don't even know where to go, Like what snowball
stands are open?
Speaker 4 (07:49):
So then we put that out yesterday.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
And the first thing we got to do before we
do any chit chat about snowballs and what this is
going to morph into, we want to send a shout
out to the guy who just moved.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Here, Jason in Jasonville.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, Jason, where he.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Says, I'm so relatively new to the area, can you
explain what exactly a snowball is.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
I've heard people talk about them, but I haven't tried
one yet.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Well, listen, Jason. First off, welcome to Parkville. You're living
in a great place. There's so much right around you
that I love. Your radio is just the right one.
You found ninety three point one WPSC, so obviously you're right,
and you moved to Baltimore. Step two, bing, bing bing.
You're doing everything right. A couple of things. There's a
great little farm, like a farm met I call it,
(08:32):
right in Parkville, where I know you take the girls
Gianna jobs.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yeah, Weber's Farm.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yes, yeah, yeah, we just went there. And for Eastern
that's great fun.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
That's fun for the fall, it's fun for pumpkins, it's
fun for East anyway.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
So you got that right in your backyard.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
You got what's the el salto you mentioned, Yeah, that's
my go to to go grab a cold survey.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
So it's a making food, huh. It is right there.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
There are a lot of snowball stands are down right,
So a snowball is.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
So let's describe crushed ice.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
But it's not so fine that it's like what other
parts of the country consider as snow cone.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, no, it's it's not where like here's the difference,
in my opinion, it's where the ice doesn't melt hard
into a ball. It stays crushed the entire time. Okay,
and and and and so then they take the coup,
they fill it with ice, and if it's a good snowball.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Stand, put a hunk of marshmallow down the bottom, all right.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
And then they just take that bottle of flavoring and
they hold it upside down and just let it run
into the cup because you want lots of liquid, as
Sherman says.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Right, and you don't want it to be ordered down,
as Sherman says, right right, right right, You.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Want your flavors. And that's what makes it unique.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Baltimore started back in the day, we had like sky blue,
we had vanilla, we had spearmint. I'm just doing this
off the top of my head. I'm sure this probably
a lot more.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
By Custard has been around.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Ay, Custer's been around from the beginning. But the it
started out, as I remember, with maybe eight to ten,
maybe twelve flavors.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I mean that was about it.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
And now it's it's blossomed into this cottage industry of flavors,
of all the flavors.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
I mean we even heard yesterday there's like Breezy's peanut
butter cups.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
So anyway, it's mainly just the ice and the flavor.
That's how it all started, right, Like people weren't adding
in ice cream and all these fancy fixing is taking
it to a new level, right, And so we got
a text yesterday that said that they have egg Custard crushes.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Oh, I gotta get one of those.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
I didn't know of this, I've got to get it.
Now we're like, who has the best orange.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Crush, right, And let's take it one step further. And
here's where we're going today. Before we play the man
with the Best chest in country music, we want to
know what bartender serves the best orange crush, right. And
I'm not talking about orange brush soda might the other day.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
