Speaker 3 (00:56):
A Baltimore Police officer was transported to a local hospital
after a bar hit him during a footchase last night.
Officers responded to the fifty seven hundred block of Riserstown
Road around eight to fifteen in search of a forty
two year old man who police say was wanted for

chase hit the officer who was in the process of
arresting the suspect. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital.

School police officer and high school football coach has been
sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison
for submitting fraudulent overtime slips totally more than two hundred
thousand dollars during the COVID nineteen pandemic. Lawrence Earl Smith
claimed more than three thousand hours of fraudulent overtime between
(01:42):
January twenty nineteen and August twenty two while living a
life of luxury. Smith was found to have falsely claimed
tax exempt status, filed to failed to file state and
federal income tax returns, and evated taxes totally more than
sixty thousand dollars. Ocean City officials approve a one year
pilot program to step up enforcement of beach rules, including
(02:05):
limits on oversized canopies and open alcohol, while also easing
restrictions on a canopy size. Under the plan, as six
member task force will patrol from the inlet to the
Delaware Line, working shifts from Memorial day through Labor Day.
The city council also voted to expand the allowable canopy
size to fifteen feet by fifteen feet and adopted new
(02:26):
spacing requirements mandating up to six feet between structures.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Can you put a grill under there?
Speaker 4 (02:33):
No, that's your brief.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
It is going to be so hot today you're gonna
spell hot with two teas? The high ninety three point one?
Come on, does that mean you can wear your bathing
suit to work? Which country star would you guess? Has
been recognized by Time Magazine as one of the best
of the year.
Speaker 2 (02:55):

sixty seconds. You don't know like you own music?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Grow?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
So?
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Which country Star has been recognized by Time Magazine as
one of the most influential people of twenty twenty six.
I'll tell you before the end of this Music City Minute,
But first, Thomas Rhett is dropping more details about his
next album. He called me in Kanvas the other day.
He did give us a few tips. Here's what we
(03:25):
can tell you. There's only going to be ten songs
on this album. A lot of artists are coming out with,
you know, albums with twenty and thirty songs, right, Thomas said,
I'm just gonna give you my ten best, So I
guess it's going to be a no skip, which is
what you call it.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Do you think that his wife will remember the name
of bet them?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
She better he can't remember the names of the rest
of them.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
If you didn't see the video Thomas was, he was like,
I'm e milliating, my wife can't remember the name of
any of my albums. Well, anyway, they're very much in
love and very cute together. She's busy with all the
kids running around. Ella Langley is enjoying the success of
her new album, but she's already looking ahead to other projects.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Listen to this.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
She says now that she wants to be the music
guest on SNL and.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
One day she wants to host Saturday Night Live Wow.
She has her site set.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
On selling out stadiums, and she wants to start acting
in the next year.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I'll bet it all happens now.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Who is Time Magazine recognizing among the most influential people
of twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Luke comes, Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Luke has made it everyone's saying over the years, you know,
he's moved from album to album and tour to tour just
keeps evolving. He's a great country star and he's also
a great human being. That is Michael Jay's Music City Minute.
Well we've got four let's see what we've got today
and tomorrow. Right, so we've got six more trips to
give away, and that's it.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Can't believe that show's coming up May second, it's right around.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
The corner, two weeks from Saturday night. Your next chance
to win the trip this morning at nine to twenty.
And let's say amen and I have a little prayer
for parents who are going crazy right now running their
kids around to all of these sports activities.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
There are so many games.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yesterday, Kim, who works in our office, she's like, Michael Jay,
love you, but gotta go.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I got a softball.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Game, my daughter's in and you're running around crazy with
all your activities.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yes, it is a busy time, especially here in Maryland.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I mean with lacrosse being so big, right, this is
such a busy time. Leagues are an effect at this point,
and certainly the school games as well. And then you know,
so Kim was going to a softball game, right, So
it's like all the sports and everybody wants.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
To be outside. Everybody wants to go and watch the game.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
And you know, the other pressure of it, I'll just
bring up that is coming up. I've mentioned before. I'm
talking to the therapist and stuff, and I'm like, it
comes up. It's like, you know, Michael, you weren't at
your son's little league games enough.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Oh there is the game pressure.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
That And I don't want this sounds sexist to say this,
because it's not just dads, it's moms doill. But it
is so difficult for parents to be at every single game,
and you want to be, but they make these games
the craziest hours.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
And then when I look back on my childhood and
I think of all my games, I'm like, oh, yeah,
my parents made it work, like they were able to
make it happen right, And that carries on for me.
I'm like, I need to be there, you know, whatever
puzzle pieces you have to fix to make it all work.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Now I feel horrible.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
You can't make all I try.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
I really do, but it is so freaking impossible to
make every game.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
It's difficult.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
And the other thing is, you know, it also puts
the pressure on the children. I mean, some of these
children I know after some of our practices we don't
get home until ten o'clock at night sometimes practices, and.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
When do you have time for homework and.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
All that kind of right, So there's a whole lot
of pressure on both parents and children. But then everybody's like, well,
it's for the love of this sport, So you know,
what are you going through?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
We want to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Yeah, text to seven to seven nine six two, start
with hair high and let us know how it's affecting
your life, for the good or the bad.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Love to hear from you.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
But it's definitely a busy, busy time of year with kids.
If you hit up Michael, Jay and Candace on Facebook,
you'll see Luke was trying to teach me how to
do that sexy dance he does.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Trying. Yeah, keyword, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Very good at it, I'll confess.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
We're talking about how parents are running around taking their
kids to every sport this time of year.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
There's so many sports.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
And guess who's on the phone, Miss Candace one little Gianna,
your daughter.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
You know, I got practice right now, Jana.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Oh it's Jihannah. Hey, let me ask you this.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
I really want to know this Gianna, And for full disclosure,
you are Candace's kid. How much do you really care
if your parents are at your games? Like when you're playing,
are you even thinking that your mom or your dad
or whoever is is there? Or do you just go
into a different world and you're playing the game. You're
not paying any attention anyway?
Speaker 2 (08:09):
I mean.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Right, so this periods of time, you're like you don't
even know that they're there because you're focused on what
you're doing.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Oh no, I like I always make sure, like I
always look.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Oh so you want your mom to be there?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Do you want your mom to go? Go Gianna?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Do you want us to call out and scream for youa?
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Just shea she like cares about her sister, is screaming
for her.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
But I shouldn't do.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
It really so it embarrasses you if she screams out
too loud.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Shouldn't do that, thankfully.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Did you see the bool water truck at the game yesterday?
Speaker 4 (08:47):
I did so.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Dad likes to use as an advertising opportunity in addition
to cheering on his daughter.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Is that is that what's going on?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Dad likes to try to just get some sort of
sleep and some sort of anything, so it looked like
a ball.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
You I hear you're going around the clock these days,
filling pools and stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
It's crazy, isn't it.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Yeah, I don't even know where I am right.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Well, maybe we should get off the phone so you
can drive carefully.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Okay, I'm here all right.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Bye, have a good purpose, have a good day at school.
My kids hate when I do that.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Oh yeah, clearly mine too.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Hey, so we're getting a lot of text on it too.
I just want to read one real quick. My husband
is a way for work Monday through Friday, so I'm
basically a single mama week. I work a full time
job and three days a week I'm an hour from
our home. My son has a cross game three days
a week and practice the other two. I made it
a point to be a game at all the games.
But I've still been able to do the laundry, clean
(10:02):
the house. I'm exhausted. But we do it for our babies.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Yes we do.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
And when we're not able to be there because of
other responsibilities, the guilt is so heavy.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
It's real.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
It really is. So parents, we understand.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
How about this, Candice, I coach middle school baseball and
travel baseball. We're on the ball field pretty much every
night of the week. My wife brings dinner and we
make it work for our kids. Kim had to go
to a softball game and baseball team. Her son is
on the travel team and he pitched a gem last night.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Mike and Recer Generations.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
That is awesome.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Your parents getting it done, your pop culture protein boost.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
It's the brief. On ninety three point ONEPOC, a.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Just don't mess with the size of my cooler.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Hey man, thank you, Breeth.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
We're throwing open that ticket window for Michelle from lynth
that coming.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
What did you do, Michelle? You had us in your
call log.
Speaker 4 (12:32):

Speaker 2 (12:49):

Speaker 4 (12:50):
She knows out of work the system right now, it's
paid off.
Speaker 2 (12:53):

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Final question, I got to ask you, Michelle, if you

see him sing Toe's.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
I'm always a hot pin.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Oh hot pick me.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
I am Oriole's orange. Those are some toes, let me
tell you. And we've got what you're looking for from

Williams Paisley sat down with Kelly and Mark yesterday to
reveal how she originally hooked up with Brad Paisley.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
He stalked me, Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
It so it could have been like, you know, marriage
or jail, and I was like, marriage seems easier.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Oh see, that's how he got her.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Brad Stokes, Kimberly Williams Page. I think she was kidding anyway,
very cute interview. You can catch the whole thing yesterday
with Kelly and her husband. Thomas Rhett is dropping more
details about his new album, and there's going to be
one big difference from all of his other albums the
number of songs on it. We're not calling it an
EP because that will only be a few songs. But
(14:18):
it's not the usual Thomas Rhett album because in an
interview he revealed with US earlier this week, he said
that the new album Do later this year will only
have ten songs on it.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
We're still looking forward to it.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Ella Langley is revealing that she is hoping to get
on Saturday Night Live. She wants to be a musical
guest and hopefully one day she wants to host. She
says she has her sight set on selling out stadiums
like M and T Bank, where she's going to be
