Speaker 2 (00:32):
Ninety three point.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
One'd be nice to talk to Jason Aldean.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Well, he's calling in. I just got a message. He
wants to talk with you. Yes, he heard the Candace
join the morning show Michael J and Candace in the morning.
And he's like, well, no, no, let me in. I
want to talk God. Fog in Northern Baltimore County and
Rondo County. You're seeing fog too. What's going on?

Speaker 4 (00:51):
You are? PLO Culture Protein Boost.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
It's the brief on ninety three point one WPOC.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
We'll get to that in a minute.

Speaker 6 (01:00):
As for right now, a staffing shortage in the Bulnebere
County Police Department has led to a dispute over the
actual number of vacancies, with the FOP president claiming the
department is down three hundred and forty one sworn officers,
while the department reports one hundred and sixty two vacancies.
The discrepancy arises from including recruits in the count who

(01:20):
are not yet sworn officers. The shortages leading to concerns
about response times, officer burnout, and morale issues with officers
being pushed into overtime and struggling to get time off.
The union is supporting officers and acknowledging the challenges they
face in the current situation. Maryland lawmakers have passed a
bill increasing oversight of pet crematory businesses following a case

(01:44):
involving a fake business in twenty twenty five. Rodney Ward,
who operated the business, pleaded guilty in February to theft
and was sentenced last month to twenty years in prison
for discarding deceased pets and returning fall ashes.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
To their owners.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
Boldimer County Delegate Nick Gallen wrote the bill to increase
the regulations and record keeping requirements for crematory owners. Under
the new law, violations will be classified as misdemeanors that
could lead to jail time and a five thousand dollars
fine for the first offense. The bill is headed to
Governor west Moore's desk for his signature in the coming weeks.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
All right, get this.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Craig aalbna Is, the Orioles manager, suffered many fractures and
a broken jaw after getting hit in the face with
a foul ball on Monday. He was hit by a
foul from Jeremiah Jackson in the fifth inning of Monday's
comeback win against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Albernas was back at
Camnon Yards last night. He does have one big change.

(02:43):
He needs to eat baby food over the next six months.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Oh ye, baby cereal, remember that baby the baby cereal
where you just mix it with the milk and maybe
can he app Yeah, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Know, but that's gross.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
All right.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Petere Alonzo and his wife Haley the Alonzo Foundation. They
donated ten thousand dollars to Barks yesterday they visited the facility.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Shout out to be the ones.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Yes Yes, Michael Jay's music.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
City Minutes that was happening in country music is happening
in Michael Jay's music.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
City Minuette ninety three point one poc.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
All right, we got a big country star celebrating a
birthday today.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
We'll get to that in a second, but.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
First, which country singing star says no more kids from
his factory?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
He's done? Who you ready? Thomas Rhett? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren, after welcoming their fifth child,
a son named Brave, They're both like, you know what,
we are so outnumbered, We're done.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
She says, she's.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Got their hands.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Lauren says she's got the magic number of kids, and
she said it was always five. She always thought about it,
and she said basically she didn't want any more kids
than she's got fingers on one hand, because after that
she starts running out of fingers.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
So the couple, they value the surprise of not knowing
the gender and all that they've had so much fun.
Like listen, we're tapping out. We're done. Five kids, five
for Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren, whose birthday is
at Chris Stapleton. So make sure you if you see him,
say happy birthday, Chris. All right, And one other story

(04:21):
I've got to share in case you have any ties
to clearwater Florida. I used to live right down the
street from where this has gone down, right across the
Howard Franklin Bridge from Tampa. Country Thunder is going to
be there. They're changing course for twenty twenty six. Organizers
just confirmed a three day festival at Coachman Park in Clearwater,

(04:45):
May eighth, ninth, and tenth. Boy, do they have a lineup.
Caine Brown, Zach Top, Gavin Adcock. They joined the deep
roster that already included Randy Hawser, Max mcnow, Shaboozi, Gretchen Wilson.
You know that kind of sounds like our big old
iHeart Country Festival, doesn't it. Yeah, they're just going to
pick up the buses and move them from Austin.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Anyway.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
That is just days after May second, the whole party
goes down. And you know what, if you want to
be in Austin nine to twenty this morning, I trust
you're going to be listening with Michael J and Candace.
We want to be on your number one preset so
you never miss these opportunities.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Do us a favor.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yeah, we had another winner.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah we did.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
We're getting so many winners for these iHeart Country Festival
trips and here's how people are telling me. This is
how they do it. They put us on their number
one preset. So we're right there at your fingertip. All right,
do it in your car, do it on your iHeartRadio app.
Do it with Michael J ninety three point one. And
that is not a joke. That is not me being

(05:46):
you know all talking about WPOC. Now it is going
to be Candace ninety three point So what do you wear?
You're getting dressed right now. What do you put on?
What do you recommend? Do you have anything in mind?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (05:59):
Yes, today I wore long pants and a long sleeved
shirt in the afternoon and I was like, I don't
know how to dress. So today I thought, I'm going
to start off with the short sleeves. And I think
it's a safe bet getting into the nineties, right right.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I also think this is the time of the year
that we're all about the layers.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Oh. I remember being a kid in high school it
was skinned to win. So I just say, you know, hey,
don't be afraid to show a little skin today. You'll
be happy you did later today. Just use your son
black SPF thirty. Now, we were talking about snowballs on Monday,
which turned into orange crushes yesterday. And then Candice, I
come across a guy who was with Charm City Cooks,

(06:42):
and apparently these folks know how to cook in Baltimore.
I'm going to share with you a little recipe that
they're putting up for their.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Orange crush wings. Listen to this.

Speaker 7 (06:52):
You know, I just took the official drink of Maryland
and turned it into a wing. These are orange crush
chicken wings. If you've ever been to Secrets down in
Ocean City or Pickles for Nose, you've had an orange
crusher three starts with fresh squeezeed oj two shots of
vodka triple sick honey for that sticky ichy.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
And it wouldn't be.

Speaker 7 (07:07):
A crush without the sprite, hold the sandal. It's a
thick glaze and set aside.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
So listen.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
So what he's done so far is he's taken an
orange crush and he's got it on the stove with
a low fire and he's boiling it all right.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Now, here's the next step. That's wing time.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
And you know I had to come correct double fried
for that ultimate Chris factor.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Let these get lost in the sauce.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
So he takes his wings and he fries them, and
then he pours his sauce over top of him.

Speaker 7 (07:34):
Toss and let's plait him up, serve a celery and
Carris to make the doctor happy. And there you have it.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Ain't no thing but a chicken wang.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
Maryland recipes in the comments follow for more Maryland flavors.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Oh these look so good. I can't I can't explain
to you. I wouldn't normally have a chicken wing in
the morning for breakfast, but can just look at them?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Ava? Can you put the link to this up? All right?

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Yeah? And where can we find orange crush wing?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I don't know. I didn't know there was a thing,
to be honest, I just came out.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
I didn't neither.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Well, they look delish, delish. I'm like craving wings.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Now.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
I thought I was a Marilynd girl because I really
only like old Bay wings.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Right well, oh jo wings baby? Wait a minute, Wait
a minute, wait a minute. So do you know about
kisslings in Baltimore? I got to give it up. They
have Have you ever had their chicken wings?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Well, they're excellent, I have. Uh, they are out of
this world. They're really good. Trying to think where else
I get wings that I look, Oh, right next door
THHB or not THHB. But CVP CDP's got some rock
and wings. And I don't know which night it is
they do. I think it might have been last night.
I think it's Tuesdays. They have half off wing night,

(08:52):
so you know, for like seven bucks you get a
plate full.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
So I'm like all over that.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
I guess I'm kind of wimpy because least at CVP
when I get wings there, I just get the regulars
and they're really spicy for me, like I'm not. I
want to be able to taste the flavor of the chicken,
and I like it to be spicy, but I don't
want it to be like, you know, a five alarm
fire in my mouth, you know what I'm saying. Really yeah,

(09:18):
I mean I'm not over the top like that. I
know some dudes are like, oh the hot or I
want my nose to bleed, and you know, I'm not
into that. I like, I like a chicken wing with it,
you know, some spice.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
But come on now, Oh hey, have you ever been
to mister G's in Catonsville?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
No? I have not.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
You recommend those totally unassuming place all right to the
point where my daughter had a lacrosse game the other
day at mount To Sales and afterwards my girlfriend was like, hey,
did you stop there and get wings? I'm like, yeah,
I did, and they were awesome. They're like the whole wing.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Right, you're gonna try them? All right? Well, look, we
want to know where you think there's some wings. Hit
us up real quick.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
We're just trying to find out who's got the best
chicken wings in Baltimore and who's got the best wings
in glen Burnie too, Like where would you go on
Richie Highway root one? Right, Yeah, well you go in
Anarono County. I want to know best chicken wings. I'm
gonna call I'm ready to call it right now. Michael
Jane Candis, I am crowning Kissling's Tavern at twenty one

(10:22):
hundred Fleet Street in Baltimore. Based on my taste buds,
I say their chicken wings are are the bomb.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
They are so good.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Well, we got a text about it.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
Hey, Kisslings back in the day used to have quarter
wings and dollar beers on Sundays.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
I wanted to.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Bring that back, you know they do.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
And then Chuck from Pasadena. His favorite wings are from
the Hideaway. Okay, somewhere in Odonton.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Cat it all right, Michael k One, Yeah, yeah, go ahead.
I was just gonna say thanks for the Cadenceville shout out.
She says, that's my hometown. I actually went to Mount
the Sales Goes Sailors. What we love Mount des Go
Mount Yeah Go Sailors. This morning they have chicken wings
with Ella Langley.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
It's nice, imagine Matt.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Ninety three point one WPOC, Michael j and Candace in
the Morning. We were talking about chicken wings because a
dude came up with a recipe for orange crush chicken wings.
I have got to try these, Candace. The uh, the
recipe and the video that's gonna make you salivate is up?

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Ava?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Is that on our Instagram right now? Instagram and Facebook everywhere?

Speaker 2 (11:30):
You could? You please? We want to.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Invite you to follow us Michael Jay and Candace in
the Morning w POC as well on Instagram and Facebook. Candice,
look at the look at these with me, these these
chicken wings on there. Are they mouthwatering or what?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (11:48):
Well, and we're getting a lot of texts on different places.
So one texture says, hey, best wings, Looney bel air,
yard bird wings.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Do you know what a yardbird wing is?

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
I know what a yard of beer is, but I'm
not what is a yard bird?

Speaker 6 (12:04):
It's tossed in parmesan cheese, old day and traditional buffalo song.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Oh I didn't know about that. That sounds good, good, right,
I'll try it. Yeah, sounds awesome.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
All right, Chicken and Egg in Baltimore's city has the
best wings.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
We're going to try that out. I need to go
feel that.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
And then this texter says, Hey, Candice, there was a
place in Towson, Maryland called Cluck You Chicken. They knew
how to season their chicken. I ate Cluck You Chicken
growing up, like that was a place in college. Oh wow,
pluck you Huh, that's where you graduated. I'm still going

(12:42):
with Kissling's. I'm telling you if you know the place,
it's on Fleet Street in Baltimore. The reason I remember
it is that not only is their food just outrageously good. Uh,
they've got a huge bird painted on the side.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I don't know it.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
There's a whole story about it, but they're at the
end of the block. Uh is that Canton? I guess
it is. But all I know is if you've not had,
I got to take you there, Candace, is Fell's That's Nah,
That's Fell's point. It's between and between Fell's point, Canton.
If it's telling me off, Mike anyway, kisslings, I can't.

(13:19):
And again, they're not advertising. I just think they deserve
some love because you know, I look at all these
people in the food business who work their rear ends off.
You're in a hot stink what's that stinking but steamy kitchen?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
And you're sweating and just working and and and then
you got the guys doing the bus the bussing and
the cleaning the dishes. It's just so much, so much
work goes on behind the scenes and restaurants people don't
think about. And we need to be more aware, just
thankful for these folks because they're they're helping us.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
By brunettes.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Headlights on the flirt right now, if you've got brunette hair.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Candasy with me, you put your headlights on.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
You know, we could do like a home we could
do a whole little meet up on the Beltway while
you're driving headlights on.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
If you're seat non following. This is not a good idea.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
It's probably not.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
I don't think I ran this through security yet. We
do have Michael, Jay and Candace though on your drive
to wherever you're headed, and we're going to help you.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Are pop culture protein boost.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
It's the brief on ninety three point one WPOC.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Well, how about headlights on? If you love country and
candas doing the brief. That's what I'm doing right now.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Okay, let's see that.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
A staffing shortage in the Baldemore County Police Department has
led to a dispute over the actual number of vacancies,
with the FOP president claiming the department is down three
hundred and forty one sworn officers, while the department reports
one hundred and sixty two vacancies. The discrepancy arises from
including recruits in the count who were not yet sworn officers.

(14:53):
The shortages leading to concerns about response times, officer burnout,
m morale issues with officers being pushed into overtime and
struggling to get time off.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Marilyn.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Lawmakers have passed a bill increasing oversight of pet crematory
businesses following a case involving a fake business in twenty

in February to theft and was sentenced last month to

suffered multiple fractures on a broken jaw after getting hit

(15:51):
in the face with a foul ball on Monday. He
was hit from the ball from Jeremiah Jackson in the
fifth inning of Monday's comeback win against Arizona Diamondbacks. So
here's the deal. He was back at Camnon Yards last night.
But he does have one big change. He needs to
eat baby food over the next six months as he heals.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Goo ohs bring in the Orioles magic. That is your brief.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I think it might just be six weeks. If he's
got to eat baby food for six months, I really feel.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Bad for him.

Speaker 8 (16:21):
Oh wait, yeah, you're right. Okayways wait, but it doesn't matter.
The man took a baseball to the face. A's seventy
miles an hour in the dugout. Oh, good morning, Kelly.
Where are you driving at this very moment?

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Ninety five south?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Any place?

Speaker 3 (16:37):
So you're in traffic?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, you're in traffic? Or what's going on? Where are
you located? I want to help you out.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Are you moving shopa area?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Moving?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
You're moving?

Speaker 2 (16:48):
All right? You bet you are?

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Baby because you're Yeah, you're going to see the Zach
Brown band.

Speaker 3 (16:53):

Speaker 1 (16:57):

eight seconds. Anybody you want to send a shout.

Speaker 2 (17:03):

Speaker 4 (17:09):

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Watches used to tick, because mine doesn't tick anymore. Time
is ticking, But I'm not sure anybody knows about watches
the tick anymore?

Speaker 8 (17:18):
Apple watches don't tick. Do they know you had your
what was it your little car watch?

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Yeah that when I was a kid, I used to tick.
But I don't hear I don't hear him ticking anymore.

and Candace, I want you to listen very carefully to
would you? Maybe you ladies can hear better than me.
I don't know what Thomas rhtt said on stage in
this clip.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Listen to this. Did you hear what he said?

Speaker 3 (17:53):
We got five something?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Ava? Can you translate what he said? What do you saying?

Speaker 4 (17:58):
He said he got five kids down, We don't know
what we're doing?

Speaker 1 (18:00):
All right, Well that's the answer. He has five kids
and they have announced officially they are done. They're shutting
the baby factory down. Lauren, his wife, says she's always
dreamt of having a big family. Five kids is the limit.
They've run out of patients and bedrooms.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
So there.

Speaker 7 (18:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
We talked with.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Thomas yes recently, yeah, and he was saying that the
way that he gets through it is by telling the
wife that she's always right.
