What a great show, even though he left me hanging
when he walked through the crowd. So I understand from
a whole lot of folks when he went out in
the crowd and up to uh, you know, get to
closer to the people.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
On the lawn.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
There were a lot of hysterical people running around trying

If you were there, you saw it. Wait a minute,
what is going on now?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Ava is walking back in the studio and I wanted

I just want to know when when Thomas Rhett was
walking around you know what I mean? When who went
out towards the lawn. Yeah, people were running like Christy, people.

Were running to like nuts. And the guy standing next

need to be a part of it.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Well, some people felt like they were left hanging.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Oh they didn't get it. They didn't get a chance.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
So anyway, congratulations to you to even get close.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
HI one tickets from you. Thank you so much for.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Giving my sixteen year old daughter and me a great night.
Can Thomas Rhett sing? Favorite part of him singing solo
with his piano player Lauren and Arry Hall.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Hey, the concert was great, lots of fan interaction. The
piano set was beautiful. We are hearing about let's see
who is this? Somebody else just texted and said what
I loved about Thomas Rhet's show is he was very
engaged with his fans. He walked down the aisle and
we were able to get very very close. We even
gave him high fives. Candice, high five, Thomas Rhett, Did

(09:34):
you give him a high five? No, we gave him
an orange crush.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
That's what we gave to Thomas Read and I think
that that was the best way to welcome into Maryland.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
I am a little less than impressed by the orange
crushes that we gave him. I think we need to
give him a little bit more diversity. Okay, I'm thinking.
I'm really thinking hard yacht O. I love heart yacht
and you love to on tavern.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
They were on standby to bring him down, and we
found out that somebody else was making them and we
were like, all right, well we'll give them a try.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
But you know everybody has their favorite place right across.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Well, we're going to have another opportunity to get him
some more crushes, because every artist that comes in, we've
got to give them the Maryland State Drink ninety three
point one wdpoc All right, Michael, J and Candace, we're
together on a Friday morning. This is going to wrap
up all of this. I believe extreme over. I don't

(10:31):
even know how to put it in words, just too
many nice things in.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
One way and fitting for all.

Speaker 1 (10:36):

all the years. Have fun, live it up. Thank you, Dustin.
He's a very cool guy. Yeah, he has rocked Merriweather.

(11:43):
Like Thomas Rhett did last night, Dustin Lynch has done
the exact same thing. He comes out and he's like
a ball of fire. So I love that well.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
And he was here to celebrate when the Michael J
and Candice Morning Show began.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah, so it seems fitting.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
He kicked us off. Yep, I'm my official announcement. So
you got another one.

I got another friend of yours.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
All right, this is like opening Christmas presents. Here we go, Michael,
Keith here.

Speaker 4 (12:45):

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Did you hear the fountain in the background. It sounded
like it was like some exotic hotel.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
There's birds here, were sitting in the studio.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
It's probably in his bathing suit. I haven't seen the
video for this yet. This is all going up on WPOC.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, so make sure to check out all the social
media pages.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
A lot of video has been going up there.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
And then Michael, jan and Candice in the morning gotta
follow us.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
There's you can top how do you top? Keith Urban?

Speaker 4 (13:08):

to the next one.

Speaker 1 (13:12):

Speaker 4 (13:14):

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Who's number three?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Hey? What's up?

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Michael j Jason Alden here man, and I just want
to say huge congratulations on your Hall of Fame induction.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Man, that's killer, that's so cool.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
So congratulations, well deserved and I should be very proud man.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Congrats, but thank you. You know I have been a
Jason Alden fan too from the very beginning. Do you
remember his very first big hit, big Ticktown, Midtown Baby Hicktown.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
So so that is number three and there's another one.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Yeah, yeah, but we're gonna wait, why are you torturing?
We're gonna wait all right, we got one more.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
And there's some sort of package they want me to
there's a little bit of a surprise, so I put
it right near Michael, so he's ready to open it.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
All right, sort of presentation going on here.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I don't know what's about to happen, so you'll excuse
me as we do this together. I honestly have no
idea what's about to happen. I got cameras in my face,
I got Candas who Candas? I said, why are you
getting so dressed up on a Friday? She's like, I
got things to do. So Michael Jan Candas ninety three
point one WPOC wrapping up Hall of Fame week. It

(14:26):
was a complete Let me just say this one more time.
I can't think of anything that's been more humbling in
my entire career than what has happened in the last
couple of weeks, being recognized by people that I've worked
with for I've been in country radio since nineteen ninety four,
so we're going on thirty years, and I did pop

(14:47):
and rock before that for another ten years, so I mean,
it's been a long time, and so for this to happen,
I've met a lot of folks and they were all
together and it was you know, it was very heartwarming,
you know it was. It was overwhelming really, So, so
here we are today. Y'all have done an amazing job

(15:08):
getting all of these artists to check in. I know
that took a lot of coordination, a lot of work,
a lot of back and forth and emails and video files,
and I appreciate that more than you know, well good.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
There were a lot of meetings that were like, hey,
get Michael over there so that we can talk over here.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
The last night, a big head you had my head,
My head was blown up.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
It was like, I mean, obviously, if there's anybody that
has a bigger head after becoming the off, it's Michael.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yeah. What they say, if you've got a big head,
you also have a big uh hat?

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Right?

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Right?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Right?

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Can we play to say one please?

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Big feet?

Speaker 1 (15:44):
All right? So number four, this is the fourth and
final star to check in for Hall of Fame week.
I have no idea what we're about to hear, so
let's listen together. Hey, Michael J it's Brad Paisley. Congratulations.
Nobody deserves this more. I'm telling you you have had
such an amazing career. More than that, you are so
fun to talk to, You fun to be interviewed by,

(16:04):
fun to listen to, and you have built an incredible
legacy and it's.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
So exciting that you're going in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
I'm honored to be your friend and have a blast
and enjoy this moment.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
You deserve it. Wow, I don't even know what to say.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
First off, you know, Brad has been like he's been
with us for so long, and he's been he's so cool.
He called me up and he said there's no one
else in the country that he would want to introduce
him in LA for a iHeart Theater show that we did,
and then I flashed back. So I get to LA

(16:40):
to introduce Brad Paisley. I'm thrilled to be there because
Brad is an awesome guy. And I walk in this building,
I'm like, I been here before. So when I was
a little kid, like maybe nine ten years old, we
had a family trip that we went to California, and
we used to sit around our kitchen table and go,
where can we go on vacation? And we would save

(17:00):
for My family would save for a couple of years
and we'd go away and we went. We're like, Dad, Mom,
wouldn't it be cool if you could go to Hollywood?
And we went and I remember trying to call Casey Kase.
I wanted to see the studio. And while we were there,
we went to Johnny Carson and the Tonight Show and
we sit in this this studio and we watched.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
It to Night Show.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I can still remember Manhattan Transfer was the musical artist
on Anyway. So fast forward, you know, I don't know
how many years Brad Paisley's a get out of here.
I want you to introduce me. I walk and I'm like,
this is the building where Johnny Carson.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Used to do this to Night Show full circle moment, and.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
I stood right where the star was where Johnny Carson
came out every night to introduce. Brad pays, I'm just
and then and to hear him, I'm just wow.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
That's what comes back to me right away. Wow.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
You guys have done a lot of good work throughout
the years as well.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Brad does a lot of good work.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
He has the store in Nashville, and Brad and Kimberley,
his wife, I think what they do is unbelievable. They
give away free groceries to families in need, and they
pay absolutely nothing for the food that's delivered and and donated,
and then the families get it, and then it's just
a way of giving back. And then at Christmas time

(18:18):
they do the same thing with Christmas presents for kids.
So Brad is a hell of a nice guy. I'm like, wow,
what a week.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
See I told you, all right, one last surprise.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
All right, there's something that I put right behind you
there over that chair.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Go ahead, and I want you to open this now.
Be careful because it's glass, it's fragile, and.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
My big head is in it.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Or what you Your big head is on top of
his shoulders. What am I going to sue?

Speaker 6 (18:44):
Ah?

Speaker 4 (18:45):
All right, here we.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Go, Yes, all right, here we go. So there was
a there is a magazine called Country Weekly. I think
it's called Our Country anyway, Country air Check, and so
they have.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Framed Uh, this is awesome.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
It's the great big full page ad that iHeart put up.
And then an interview that I did with the magazine
and some old pictures, very very cool, and look there's
Brad Paisley right there. Very FA's sitting in la at
the place I was just telling you about huh. Well,
there you go. I don't know how you got you
guys have outdone yourselves.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Well, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
We're it's it's well deserved, and you have a bottlely champagne.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Yes, here's what I'm gonna do with this bottle of champagne.
All right.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
This was last night we went to see Thomas Raett.
Thomas gave me this bottle and I thanked him profusely,
and I said, here's what I want to do with it.
I want to put this in the fridge here at
the radio station. We're not going to open it, all right,
and it's gonna say Michael Jay's please don't take if
anybody steals it, bad karma.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I want to I want to put it.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
We're gonna put it in the fridge, all right, and
we're gonna keep chilled until we have something really exciting
to celebrate here.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Okay, that sounds wonderful.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Well, I'm glad that we had the celebrations that we
had throughout the week.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Well deserved.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Congratulations Now all of us here in Baltimore and seams
across the country.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
