Speaker 1 (00:00):
Absolutely astound and I didn't see it. Vegas didn't see it.
They had this team at seven and a half wins
for the better part of the spring and most of
the summer, up until about August, where it went to
eight and a half wins. They're seven and two on
the season and the number one seed in the NFC

(00:21):
if the playoffs start today, which of course they do not,
So kudos to everybody. I mean Tyree Knight jarring the
ball loose and making Jacoby Bursett fumble not once, but twice.
And then DeMarcus Lawrence, who had two touchdowns his entire
previous twelve years of his career and had two yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Off really was the same play.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
And a lot of people out there, I'm seeing this
on the textlan Oh, don't forget. We've got a chance
for you to win a platter of boards, said Sandwiches.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
This is this hot take Monday.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
She go to the three the iHeartRadio app and you
got thirty seconds to rant away. You can leave a
tribute to Lenny Wilkins, talk about the Hawks, talk about
how bad and pathetic that Husky's loss on Saturday was.
You name it, whatever you want to do, you can
do it right there at the free iHeartRadio app ninety
three to three KGr. Chrystal will get it. If you swear,

(01:21):
he'll beep it out. If you don't do that, we
will open up the phone lines coming up at noon
at two o six two eight six ninety five ninety
five and you can rant away. I'm seeing this a
lot though on the text line. So far, Seahawks haven't
beaten anyone. They haven't beaten anyone. That's what you That's

(01:42):
a lot of people are saying right now. I okay,
all right, fair enough, I get it. They lost to
the two best teams that they've played on their schedule.
I'll admit that, the Bucks and the forty nine ers
they have. But let's find out because they are going
to play someone on Sunday, so we'll see then. We'll

(02:07):
find out then if this is an over rated record
or if they are legit. We will find out on Sunday.
That's what we'll find out. This Chris said what I
sent in last Wednesday. It's why for over a decade
we've said in Schneider we trust he was being held

(02:29):
back in the draft by Pete Carrold somewhat. The influence
is long gone. Let me ask you, Mark, who the
f are opposing defense is going to cover now that
we've added Shaheed, Mike's defense is clicking on all cylinders
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
L fgh.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
If Clinton's your guy, Clint Kubiak, how come this year
you were talking about replacing him with the coach from
the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Well because I got sick and tired of the trick plays.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
But Trick Kooby has gone back to Clint Kubiak, so
he's not Trick Kubiak anymore. Mark, You've been pretty good
luck to Seattle sports since being in town. So far,
so good, Marcus says, I agree with Softie. We are

(03:17):
a baseball town. Growing up, all you saw was Mariner gear.
I'd say people didn't really embrace the Seahawks like they
do until our first Super Bowl run and the NFL
overall seems like it got bigger since betting became more prevalent.
Fair enough, Okay, all right? So I also want to

(03:37):
say one thing too. Former commissioner of the NFL, Paul Tagliabu,
passed away at the age of eighty four, So I
look back at commissioners throughout the course of history. I

(03:58):
think in my lifetime, Taglibou was my favorite commissioner if
I had to rate one of them all. He didn't
do anything. I mean, yeah, the Browns left Cleveland and
went to Baltimore, but what happened three years later? They

(04:20):
came back to Cleveland three years later, So it wasn't
like a Montreal Expo Seattle SuperSonics thing where once they
were gone, here we are twenty near twenty plus years
later and neither one of them have come back. I
think Tagliabu the league increased from twenty eighteen to thirty
two teams, and I think overall he did a pretty

(04:44):
decent job overall, and he wasn't a pushover, but he
wasn't an ironclad dictator as well. He was just a
guy that did his job and eighty four years old old.
What a life?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I mean. Wow.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
You know they say bad things happen in threes, right,
So Paul Tagliabu, Lenny Wilkins, Oh Jesus, I don't even
want to think about somebody else going away. I don't
even want to think about that at all. But they
always say bad things happen in threes. So we had
two that happened yesterday, And for those of you that

(05:26):
are under the age of thirty three, thirty six, a year,
or thirty five, Lenny Wilkins was arguably the greatest coach
in Seattle sports history, and some people say inarguably, and
he led this city to its first world title. And

(05:49):
as promised, joining us right now to talk about the
life and legacy of coach and player Lenny Wilkins. The
X Man Zavor McDaniel x man. Great to have you back,
and I've just got to ask you, what was the
your thoughts as soon as you heard the news yesterday
that Lenny Wilkins had passed away at the age of

(06:10):
eighty eight.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Well, lit disappointed a great guy like that gonna pass.
You know, we all got inspiration date, but just did
not know he was sick or anything. So it was
kind of a shocker when the alert came across my
phone and said Lenny Wilkes and then I just did
hear a little. I put something on Twitter thanking him
for bringing me to Seattle, because I know a lot

(06:35):
of people wanted there in the Shrimp and he brought
me to Seattle and made me a part of the
Seattle community. So I just wanted to send thanks to
him and his family, cadoles to him and his family.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
What was your relationship like with with Lenny Wilkins. He
didn't coach you, but he did draft you, So what
was your relationship like with him?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
It was it was cool. We had a great relationship.
When I chel Seattle, him and Frank mccatto are the
ones and break mcowsy one took me out and any
time I needed to talk, he was always there. Even
when I left Seattle and went to Phoenix and he
was at Cleveland and when he was in Atlanta. I've

(07:16):
always talked to him. And even when you and Kevin McHale,
not Kevin McHale, uh Kevin uh Willis would get into it,
he put me to the side and talk to him
and said let it go. And that's what I would do. Uh. Uh.
He's a respectiful, god great guy. I enjoy uh, you know,

(07:36):
playing in Seattle because of him, and uh the reason
why I came there, you know. Uh, And I've always
appreciated that, you know. Uh you see my tweet and
put me in the game as far as uh changing
the life of my family and and uh coming from college.
But not having nothing because with no NL back noon.

(07:57):
So I just wanted to say thank you coach and uh,
resident peach.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
What do you think also that he meant to Seattle
and and everybody here and you know, naming it obviously
back you were here back in April when they named
it Lenny Wilkins Way with coach George carl And and
you Dale Ellis, and you were here back then when

(08:24):
they did that. What was what was that like for
you when you when you saw him there and now
knowing that hey, here we are seven months later and
he's no longer with us, how special was that moment
now for you looking back?

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Uh, it was a great time. Like I said, me
and coach always had a great relationship. Even though he
coached me, he drafted me, like I said, with other teams.
When he seen me, he gave me a hug, he
said he appreciate me coming. And I said, Coach, I'm
glad to be here. I'm just glad to be here
with what's going on with you. Uh told him, I'm

(09:01):
just I'm just proud of him and things that he
accomplished and stuff. So I've always had a lot of
respect for Coach Wilkins.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, were there anything you know, did like when you
left Wichita State and you're drafted here and he drafted you.
What are some of the things this maybe not about
basketball x man, but just in life that he was
able to kind of convey to you that have stuck
with you since then.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
I'm not gonna really say nothing. I think I've been
pretty pretty much standing out a couple of little issues,
but I think that coming in at twenty two, I
was already well arounded. I feel like these kids today
they're coming into high school, they're still immature. I was
already mature. The only thing he wanted me to do
when I got drafted make the Sonics relevant again. And

(09:51):
you know, with myself and Tom and the others coming in, yelling,
coming in, we did that. And even though he didn't
draft Nate. I think I'm not sure if he drafted
Nate or not, but he left in that at the
end of the eighty five eighty six Seeds and that's
where Nate McMillan came in for his first year. But

(10:15):
we just made the Simons Reveland. He loved the silence
and I any prayer talked to you, you need to
make sure you go down to Descibron clinic could do
some work with them. Everybody did that myself and I
would Jered Henderson, Ricky Sobers, we all went down to
a Decibron clinic. It's want time put money, you know

(10:35):
for you know people for Christmas and Thanksgiving and things
like that. So he wanted to make sure you got
out in the community and did the things that you
needed to do in the community.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Also, Yeah, and you look at Atle's career, I mean
think about this. He came here and I believe you know,
sometime in his first season they asked him to be
a player coach from nineteen sixty eight to seventy two,
and you know, he reluctantly did it, then left and
still was a player coach, and then when he came back,

(11:07):
was a coach and led this team and the city
to his first ever world title in a major sport
and beating the Bullets in nineteen seventy nine and West
unselled after losing to them the year before in seven games.
And you know that shaped and I think X Man,
I think we can say this is that when you
look at Seattle as a whole, before there.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Was the Mariners.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
There was the Seahawks, and before there was the Seahawks,
there was the Sonics, and the Sonics were first here.
So at its core, Seattle's a basketball city.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah, I would agree that. I mean you can look
at sun of the athletes to come through there, Doug
Christie for Warre, Tamar Crawford, and you got some other kids.
The Twins that played at I think they played it
right there, beat some turn taking it, sim and Sam.
They've had a lot of great Nate Robinson. Uh see,

(12:03):
I had a lot of great great players. Jawan Howard,
Uh not Jawan Howard or Juwan.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
O'hamm well currently in the league, Jayden McDaniels for the
t Wolves.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Jaden Yeah, yep, my little cousin. I'm not sure we
can't about it, but uh yes, playing with Minnesota, they
got a lot of talent, a lot of talent in Seattle,
and uh he could probably say that he's responsible for
a lot of that, you know, because I know growing up, Uh,
coming out of high school, I didn't know nobody from Seattle.

(12:37):
They playball, you know, Uh, Kent Richister. I wound up
realizing that he was from Seattle and a big guy
and Big Boodham, James Eltwards. But I didn't really know
a lot of people, so I could say that could
be contribute basketball to coach, coach.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Henry Wilkins, Xavier McDaniel, x man joining us here on
M Jay and the Midday Sports Leader ninety three three
kg R. And you look at what he did after,
Like he ended up becoming at one point he was
the NBA's all time winning his coach, you know, and
then he was surpassed by Don Nelson and then Greg Popovich.
But that's unbelievable. And then to be part of that

(13:14):
original dream Team staff with the late great Chuck Day
and Mike Krzyzewski and PJ. Carlesimo and Jim Beheim. I mean,
think about that, Like he's not only in the Hall
of Fame as a player and a coach, he's also
there as part of that dream team. So I mean,
you can't even you can't. You know what they always say,

(13:35):
x Man, you can't. If you can't tell the story
of a sport without mentioning that person's name, that tells
you how much of an impact and legacy they had
on that game. You can't tell the sport of basketball
without saying the name Lenny Wilkins.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Right, He's had a big impact on basketball, just not
in Seattle, but in the whole world basically because he's
done it all as a player, coach, Olympics, All American,
you name it, he has done it. So when you
say basketball, you got to put Nannie Wilkes in there.
Plus he's also one of the top seventy five best

(14:14):
players that ever played the game.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yeah, yeah, Adam Silver.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Adam Silver came out and just said he's one of
the only person to be named top seventy five best
players in top fifteen best coaches. No one's ever no
one's ever had that, but Lenny Wilkins.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
He's had a he got a great legacy. He's done
a great job just you know, being a coach, basketball, player, husband, family, man.
I mean, he's done it all, so you can't take
anything away from he's done a great, great job, man.
You know, like I said it before, a coach rest

(14:51):
in peace. I think he's enjoyed and I think everybody
should should embrace what he's done for the city LC
out of the state of Washington.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Xavier McDaniel, x man, how tough was it to face him?
When he was coaching the Calves or other teams.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
It really wasn't that hard. Like I said, when you're
playing basketball you're a competitor. Yeah, so hard. But you know,
I had a job to go out and do it.
I just tried to do it at my best. And
like I said, I loved coach Wilkins because, like I said,
he took me when everybody said take that love, he
took me. And to me, I told him, I'm gonna

(15:30):
prove everybody right because, like I said, in the nineteen
eighty five draft, Patrick Ewan might have been the best
player in the draft, but I was the best ready
player in the draft at that time. Unfortunately, I messed
my knee up, and my knee and I never really,
I'm not gonna say recover, but I was never the

(15:50):
I was never the same athlete that I was before
I hurt my knee. But like I said, I love
coach Wilkins. Man, he's a great guy. And uh, you know,
I'm just sorry to see that he's moved on.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Exce man, I get asked this question all the time,
and I got to ask you this too. Well, obviously
you've seen about this whole gambling scandal with the NBA,
So like, what are the Sonics coming back here? I mean,
do you think they're really coming back? And if so, when,
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
When, I'll be glad man. I think see how deserves
a team. It was wrong about how everybody went by
it the first time, with everything that went on, But
it's time for them to grant a team. And I
don't know what to hole up here as far as

(16:47):
them announcing, you know that the team, you know, you know,
they keep saying they're gonna do it, they're gonna do it. Well,
the other assignment the meteorite, So let's go ahead and announcement.
I think set to be one.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Of those teams, right.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
I'm just I just don't know what the hold up is.
I don't know. I just don't know what the hold
up is. And unfortunately, you know, they have announced it.
But I'm hoping that when they do announce it, they
see how to do get a team.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Yeah, we all do.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I just I was hoping and praying that would be
two years from now, in twenty twenty seven, and now
I just heard certain things and then with his gambling scandal,
I think the biggest hold up to is the fact
that they want to do two at once. They want
to do thirty one and thirty two. They don't just
want to do one, they want to do two at once.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
So I don't know what I mean. If you're going
to make if you're going to do it, you should
just do it. In it.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I agree, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
It's it's you know, hey, as much as people and
I understand why everybody here, you know, hated David Stern.
If David Stern wanted an expansion, he got expansion.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Right, And I just think I got saying unfortunate things happened,
and you know a lot of people dropped the ball
on this. But it's time in this and and bring
Usonic's bag.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
No question, x Man, Zavor McDaniel. Always appreciate you making time,
x man, and hopefully next time we do talk it'll
be under better circumstances. And rest in peace to Lenny Wilkins.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yes, sir, thank you.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Thank you, x Man. Xavier McDaniel. I watched a documentary
last week on Who killed the Montreal expos And it's
it's just heartbreaking because it's you know, it's a lot
of it is a little bit similar to what happened
here in Seattle, a.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Lot of it.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
It's and it's Staben without for twenty years now and
Seattle in June of twenty twenty six, it'll be eighteen
years exactly.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
So it's both of them.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
And you know, I mean, I don't care about Montreal,
but I would love for them to get the Expos
back one day. That would be great, but not before
we get the Sonics back, that's for sure. So a
very sad day. And but we you know, here's another
thing too, having lost my grandfather recently at ninety six
and a half eighty eight, that's a celebration of life too.

(19:23):
As sad as it is, we have to also look
at the you know, the wonderful things, the absolute wonderful
things that Lenny Wilkins did here and the life that
he led and the legacy that he left behind, not
only from basketball but just as a human being. This

(19:43):
guy was. He was as good as it gets. There
was just no doubt. So thanks to x Man for
joining us. Don't forget hot take Monday your chance to
win a platter of bor said sandwiches hit Now you
can go to the free iHeartRadio app ninety three three
KJR and ran to if you want to leave a
tribute to coach Wilkins, then you can do that.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Or you want to talk about the Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
You want to rant about the Huskies poor win, excuse me,
poor game on Saturday and Jamon Williams, man, you can't
turn the ball over in your own red zone. That
can't happen. And how much did that win? That loss
on Saturday set this team back. I thought they were

(20:27):
guaranteed nine and two going into the finale against Oregon
and that's not going to happen now. So we'll get
to that, and what does that mean for this Huskies team?
In the rumors abound about Jed Fish and his future.
We'll get to that coming up at eleven forty five.
We've got fact or fiction coming up next right here

(20:50):
on MJ in the midday. Don't forget, we'll open up
the phones at noon right here in Sports Radio of
ninety three to three KJR FM. There's no way Wisconsin
should have been even on the same field. I mean, Wisconsin,
I don't understand about them. There were two and six
going to that game. They should have been working on
a bio and they actually gave Luke Fickle an extension,

(21:14):
which tells you the expectations and where they see that program.
You're giving a guy with who's two and six an extension.
Really okay, but it's time now. There's a lot of
rumors out there about Jedfish Florida Ucla. I don't know

(21:37):
why anyone would want to consider that garbage job. Okay,
you're in LA, but why you're like, you're the redheaded
stepchild to USC football.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
You've always been that way.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Ucla can barely get fifteen and a half thousand people
for their home games at the Rose Bowl. It's a joke.
So I don't understand. Like, to me, Florida, I could
see it because it's his alma mater and heartstrings and

(22:15):
all that stuff. But here's my question about Jed Fish,
and it's something that we all need to start asking
right now. Would that be such a like hypothetically, I'm
just asking, I'm asking, would that be such a big
loss to you, dub if he goes somewhere else. He's
one in seven on the road in the Big Ten.
In two years. He's only won a singular road game

(22:38):
at Maryland and they were down by like twenty five
points in the third quarter to come back and win
that one. He's two and seven overall on the road
in two years on Motlake.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
That was pathetic, man. That was a bad showing. And
I felt like this was a format. This was a
foregone conclusion on this team gonna win three straight again Wisconsin, Purdue,
and UCLA going into the final regular season game at
home against Poor again, but instead nothing nothing.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
I I'm just befuddled right now. And how piss poor
pathetic performance that was on Saturday. Bad really bad one
in seven on the road in the Big Ten. And
here's another question I want to ask too. If he
does leave now, I don't think it would be a

(23:43):
really big loss to you, Dub, considering what he's done here.
And if he does, the one thing that does suck,
you're hitting the reset button on having to find a
new head coach for the third time in four years.
And that's the worst part. And then it's the mass exodus,
and then you got to bring in a whole new
two So you're going back to square one from where

(24:04):
you were when Kaylin Debor went to Alabama, But like
if UCLA, if he's looking at that job, please stop it.
That's that's a major You talk about regressing. Oh, that's
like going from Jenny McCarthy to Melissa McCarthy. Stop it.

(24:27):
All right, Now it's time for fact or fiction.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Where's that to go? Glad you're with us.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented
by Lucky Eagle Casino and hotel where every day feels lucky.
Factor Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point three
KJR FM.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
All right to the NFL Monday Night Football.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
I this game. It was sort of like, oh, kid,
good pick for you by you on the Chargers. That
was dominating performance last night. Good job on that one.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
And the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Yeah yeah, yeah, they're back. They're both back Chargers though
I had them last night. But then I I did
it in a parlay with Justin Herbert. To get over
two hundred and twenty five plus yards passing. You would
think that would be easy. He's leading the NFL in

(25:40):
most passing yards per game.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Kid.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
He ended at two twenty two twenty. So there's that
I mean bad beats. It happens tonight, Eagles Packers. This
is going to be a high scoring affair, especially after
what happened to green Bay last week and at absolutely
piss poor, pathetic showing in the lost to Carolina. Yeah,

(26:03):
that actually did happen. It's Monday Night Football tonight. Joe
Bucks in the house, Troy Aikman, ESPN, ABC. Eagles on
the road, they score points and they give up points.
Remember that game that they had at Tampa thirty one
to twenty five. At home against the Rams thirty three
to twenty six. How about the game on the road

(26:25):
against the Giants thirty four to seventeen. They lost that one,
the game against the Vikings twenty eight to twenty two,
and then their game last week at home thirty eight
to twenty over the Giants. This is this has over
written all over it. Eagles five and three on overs
this season, green Bay four and four. But this is

(26:48):
a must win for green Bay. Detroit won yesterday, Chicago
won yesterday. You needs you can ill. You cannot afford
to lose this game. And if you're gonna win this game,
you're gonna have to put up a lot of points.
Against Jalen Hurts Saquon Barkley in this Eagles team. So
the number right now as it stands is forty five.

(27:12):
So I'm gonna go over on that one. Give me
the over on Eagles Packers tonight over forty five if
you agree, text fact to four nine four or five
to one. If you disagree and you want to lose,
text in fiction to four nine four, five to one.
I think it's an easy cover, a very easy cover.
Eagles Packers way over tonight. I am personally betting it,

(27:34):
so I'll let you know that one right now, and
I always do that any picks I usually get out
in the air that I'm pretty much betting than myself.
I think this is an easy overcover tonight in Green Bay,
and I think both teams are gonna put up a
lot of points. I expect high scoring, even perhaps in
the first half. So if you know, for those of
you out there that might want a little extra action

(27:55):
aside from factor fiction on the first half is twenty
two and a half, you might want to Yeah, you're
feeling spicy, you might want to do that as well.
Over twenty two and a half. There you go, Eagles
Packers tonight. If you agree, text in fact to four

(28:16):
nine four or five one. If you disagree, text in
fiction A four to nine four five one. Bad loss
for the Huskies on Saturday. That one, I mean, listen,
losing to Ohio State. There's no shame, even losing to Michigan,
even though I thought they would have won that one.

(28:37):
It's a road game that those are understandable losses. Saturday
was inexcusable, unacceptable, and pathetic. And I'll tell you right now,
I got a lot of friends down in the Sunshine State.
Jetfish is not in their top three, and some of
them not even in their top five. He's a safety

net choice to succeed Billy Napier with the Gators. They're
not exactly Oh we gotta get Jetfish. No, they're not.
So let's just see what happens this moment forward. But bad, bad,
bad loss on Saturday. Inexcusable. All right, coming up next,

a platter of freshly made Boresaid sandwiches courtesy of q FC,
made exactly the way that you want. Boresaid committed to

(30:23):
craft since nineteen oh five. Yes, Studs and Duds. I mean,
for the first time this season, both Hawks running backs
K nine and Charbona. They performed at a high level.
And the amazing thing about it is that they're getting

(30:44):
stellar run blocking as well, which is and they did it.
It was nice to finally see these guys perform at
that level because we're all winning for it and we're
all like, I mean, the Seahawks are not a picture
of perfection by any stretch of the imagination, you know, running,
I mean, they were second to last in yards per

(31:07):
carry going into yesterday's game in the league. So it
was nice to see that this team actually have a
game averaging over four yards per carry and they did
so that was good. And like you said, Kenny Walker,
he doesn't fumble, which is huge. Jackson Smith and Jigba

(31:29):
forty three yard touchdown. I mean, I wish they would
have fed him more in the second half. They went
away from it. It's why Sam Darnold only threw twelve
passes in the game.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
But what can you say about him? Light work?

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Five catches, ninety three yards and a forty three yard touchdown.
Light work for him and the defense Tyree Knight, DeMarcus Lawrence.
I mean they it wasn't bad enough for Tyree Knight
to strip sack Jacoby Burssett the first time and to
Marcus Lawrence recover it and run it back for a touchdown.
They needed to do it twice. That doesn't happen. That

(32:06):
never happens. So those guys, and with no Ernest Jones,
you got to see what they did, and that was awesome,
and hey, Mike McDonald, man, I here he is. I
I was going back and forth with a buddy of
mine in New England. He's like, yeah, Mike Rabel Coach

(32:27):
of the Year, and I go, well, Mike McDonald might
have some saying he said, but the difference is the
Seahawks won ten games last year and the Patriots were
trash and that's why they were in the top five
of the draft. Again, So when you're that bad and
then he wasn't there, Mike Rabol, and then he gets
there and he turns him around immediately and they right

(32:49):
now might be the best team in the AFC. I
have to concede defeat on that one. But Mike McDonald
is him. You know, when we talk about finding a
successor to a Hall of Fame coach like they did
in New England from Belichick to Vrabel, now we're seeing
it now here in Seattle with Pete Carroll to Mike McDonald.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
They got the guy. They got the guy. He is him.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
And Clint Kubiak stays away from the trick plays and
he just seems to have this knack at doing things
and calling it at the right time. And you've seen it.
And the thing is, Kid, for me, this team all
season long, from Week one against the forty nine ers

(33:40):
and that disappointing loss that they gave away after Week ten,
this team has gotten progressively better every single game. There's
been some bumps along the way, but they've gotten better
and that, to me is the most important thing, and that,
to me is the sign. And this is why Kid.

(34:01):
The Seattle Seahawks, if the playoffs started today and Monday,
November tenth, would be the number one seed in the NFC.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
How about that, apples.

Speaker 5 (34:10):
It'll be fun to see what the Eagles do because
if the Eagles win tonight, then they're right there there.
I think I think they have to look at who
has the better conference record, But nonetheless, the Eagles win tonight,
a Seahawks and Eagles right there one and one. So
this is a big game coming up tonight. And yeah,
if the playoffs started today, that would be cool, and
there's a long way to go, but there's not really

(34:32):
a long way to go, if that makes sense, So now.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Sews can really rover halfway there.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
The Seahawks can definitely put a stamp getting through this
practice week and then going up against the Rams, because
that's going to be a really fun and good test
for them to see how they are against Sean McVay,
who has beaten Mike McDonald quite a few times. I'm
not counting last year's game at the end of the
season when Jimmy g and Mark James and myself were playing.
That doesn't count. Now it is a big match that matters.

(35:01):
It's going to literally say when you if you win
that game, you're pretty much locking up.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
You're the NFC West.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
You I don't know just yet, I would you want
to know, but you've beat you have to beat the
Niners again. I'm pretty confident everyone's gonna say, yeah, I
see what you mean.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
You swept the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
But you know, but what happens if the Rams win
on that Thursday night game and now up here, So let's.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Say you win that game, we split, then you split, right,
you need to win all your other games.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
Then that's the importance. Yeah, and there's there's a lot
listen at Tennessee. Should be a win. I know that
this team's had a really good season. I'm not worried
about the Colts at home and Minnesota. I'm not worried
about them at home either. So those are games that Oh,
by the way, here's another team. I'm not worried about
the Falcons. I'm not worried about the Falcons anymore either.

(35:52):
I just don't want to count on winning the rest
of your game. You just got to take care of
business in your division. But yeah, if the Packers win tonight,
then it so as today, as of right now in
the NFC, Seahawks are the one seed, Eagles are the
two seed. Packers are the three seed. So the two

(36:13):
in the three seed right now are playing each other tonight,
which is great. Bucks are the four seed, Rams are
the five seed, Lions are the sixth, and the Bears
are the seventh, with the Niners, Panthers, and Vikings on
the outside looking in. So with a loss on Sunday
to the Rams, you're talking about going from the one

(36:33):
seed to probably the five seed where the Rams are
right now. That's how big this game is. Oh, by
the way, you might ask, what's the line. The Seahawks
are a three point dog on Sunday over total forty nine.
Opening line Seahawks three point dog. All right, hot take Monday,
