on Hot Take Monday. Hello James, Hello, My.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Ramp is when you have things happening. We're several weeks
in advance. I've then at a local grocery store the
other day. They were already playing Christmas music, the veryer
first christ Christmas music. Another thing I go to local
national sports talk show and they're doing in twenty twenty
six NFL mock draft. Well, let's see. I think with

(01:38):
the first round first picked, the New York Chess are
gonna pack Mendoza. Let's say in round thirty, I think
the Rams are gonna pick blah blah blah. I'm not already.
We don't need mock drafts until February. We don't need
Christmas music to at least the day after Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Okay, And that's that's what yah. I'm with you on
the mock drafting. I don't mind the Christmas music after Halloween,
but I'm definitely with you. You're talking mock draft on
November tenth. That's just bad and lazy. I'm with you
on that, James, all right, thank you, all right? Two six,
two eighty six ninety five ninety five. Brent is up

(02:18):
next in Seattle.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
What's up, Brent, Hey there, I'm fifty three years old.
I believe Softie as I do, went to religion school together.
But I remember in nineteen seventy eight I was in
kindergarten and the Sonics were playing for the NBA Championship,
and I remember being heartbroken when they lost there. So
I clearly remember remember Lenny the seventy nine when they

(02:41):
won the championship, I went nuts and when jumping in
a kidney pool, and I was the only one in
my kindergarten class that had the attention span to watch
the entire game. Softie doesn't remember it. I do. And then,
of course I remember when he was coaching here. I
was reading when Lupa Cabs I was I remember when
they were one game short the NBA Finals, when he
was with the Raptors. I spoke to him a number

(03:03):
of times, and he's truly going to be missed. I
do give myself some solaces that he knew in his
heart that when the NBA is ready to expand whenever
that might be, Seattle will get a team one percent.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Okay, Brent, I hope so, I hope that's sooner than later,
because I'm sick and tired of waiting. I've only been
here nine months, and I can't imagine any of y'all
who have been here and have to endure this issue
for the last seventeen years, and it'll be eighteen next June.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I just my thing.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
When people ask me, all I can say is not
anytime soon. I will happen eventually. Yes, I do believe
it will happen eventually. I just don't see it happening
anytime soon. Unfortunately, that's where we're at. I think the
NBA right now, especially with that gambling scandal, Adam Silver
the commissioner, being subpoena to Congress on Capitol Hill. Yeah,

(04:01):
I don't think expansions exactly. At the top of the
NBA's priority list right now. Self preservation, trying to somehow
preserve what little integrity the game has after being marred
and a gambling scandal because of Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups,

(04:21):
Damon Jones, and god knows who else. I just don't
see it being at the top two O six two
eight six ninety ninety five. All right, we'll go to uh,
We'll go to the voice texts that you leave on
the free Iet Radio app ninety three three KJR.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
What do we got?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Lenny Wilkins probably the best coach and the greatest coach
in Seattle history, first coach to ever bring a championship
to the city. He brought passion. Never one did he
take credit for it. It's always about the team. He
was passionate about the city. Our ip, Lenny Wilkins, recipe peace,

(05:01):
Thanks for all you did.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
That was really good, really good. That's that's a great tribute.
I appre I don't know your name, but I appreciate you.
So yeah, he did. He did, And now's the time
and and and somebody else's textan earlier and is like,
it's good that he got to see the street right

(05:24):
there outside of CPA Climate Pledgerina being named after him.
It's good that he got to see that, you know
what I mean? Like when ESPN did this amazing tribute
in the first game day of the college football season,
and they said, you know, Lee Corso came out and said,

(05:49):
it's like I'm watching my own funeral service, and you know,
and he is. But the difference is he's still alive
to see it. So I thought ESPN did an unbelievable
job on that, And I thought King County in the
City of Seattle putting Lenny Wilkins way out there the timing.
He got to see that, and he was all smiles,

(06:12):
and he got to see a lot of his former
players when they did that in the spring.

Speaker 7 (06:16):
Next first off, rest in peace, Lenny, Thanks for all
the memories. The Seahawks in the second half need to
go to the progressive backup plan for the quarterback. Locke
you're in. It's either that or Sam needs to quit
drinking so much. Dumb ass at halftime. You guys have

(06:39):
a great day.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
There's certain things that we can pick apart the sloppy
turnovers that's happened, all right, one of them wasn't his fault.
I'm with you, kid on that one, but like happen.
And I know Bradford got bull rushed against Nick Bosa
in the first game of the season, but that had
How about how about the one that should have happened

(07:03):
against the Bucks in the end zone?

Speaker 1 (07:05):
You know how lucky he wasn't that wasn't picked?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Remember that, kid, I remember, and that would have been
a pick six game over which you know, so you
just just tighten up, tighten up. That's it got to
tighten up. Garrett in Arizona. Hello, Garrett, Hey brother, how.

Speaker 8 (07:24):
Are you doing good?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Garrett?

Speaker 9 (07:27):
Hey, I know I can't win the boards, said, but
I had to give.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
A tribute to Lenny.

Speaker 9 (07:31):
I mean, we all know he was a great player,
we all know he's a great coach. But do you
understand how cool the man was. I mean out there
in the bell bottomed pants and the elevated shoes, the
leather jacket, the shirt like three three buttons unbuttoned, the
little gold chain. I mean, I was a six year
old white kid and I wanted to be Lenny Wikins.

(07:52):
So God bless you, Lenny, love you. We'll see him
having buddy.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Oh that was.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Good, Garrett.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I appreciate the phone call and he not even knowing
that out of state, knowing that you know, we can't
get them. There's no qfcason Arizona. So but that was
really cool, Garrett. I appreciate that. Two six two eight
six ninety five ninety five. Will go back to the
voice text, what's up.

Speaker 10 (08:14):
MJ kid, This is Roberts from Kuala. I just wanted
to say that I've been so pleasantly surprised with my
Seattle Seahawks. Honestly, barring a few fluky incidents, we could
be a to no. But I will say that next
week's test against the Rams will show us how well
we will do in the playoffs, because every team is
going to be on that level. But I'm looking forward

(08:35):
to seeing the Hawks continue to show up and show out.

Speaker 11 (08:38):
I'm so excited.

Speaker 10 (08:39):
This is just as good as the Lob days.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
All Right, Robert and few, Allum, Yeah, we're not there yet,
but this team's on his way. And I'm not going
to argue with you that they haven't beaten, you know,
other than Houston, and they haven't beaten anyone.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Great, I'm not gonna argue that with you. It's fine.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
But they also didn't lose to anyone bad either like
the Rams did. The Rams lost at home in Jacksonville.
That Jacksonville is not the bottom of the barrel like
most years. But that's a game you can't lose, so
we'll find out. We'll find out. I can't wait to

(09:21):
see the chess match between McVeigh and Mike McDonald Seahawks
defense versus Rams offense, and what they're gonna do to
defend Puka Nakua and Davante Adams and Higbee.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
I can't wait for that. That is gonna be masterful, masterful.
Next hot take, here's one.

Speaker 11 (09:42):
Nobody wants to participate in this contest because if you
win and you get these sandwiches, nothing will ever taste
as good again in your life. Your whole life will
be ruined. Don't do it, all right, man, I appreciated them.
Sandwiches are fine.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Did he win before? I'm yessing he did?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Oh all right, yeah, Well you know it's it's they're
tough to beat.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
They're tough to beat, my guys.

Speaker 8 (10:10):
Oh boy.

Speaker 12 (10:11):
The Seattle sports fan in the last week, I heard
Tarreik Wallen was comparable to Sauce Gardner.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
I heard Sir mix a Lot was a dope rapper.

Speaker 8 (10:20):
I heard Maclamore was a dope rapper.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I heard a bunch of white guys jumping.

Speaker 8 (10:24):
Around in overalls in the rain.

Speaker 12 (10:27):
Was an electric atmosphere that's about as.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Electric as Jed Fish's visor.

Speaker 12 (10:32):
And don't even get me started on Utuh my gosh,
step it.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Up, Joel, you are not wrong.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
I did not wake up Saturday expecting that Huskies team
with that talent and one of the most explosive offenses
in college football with Demon Williams, Jonah Coleman, Muhammad Boston
Vines Bright. I did not expect that team to even
have any issue use whatsoever with Wisconsin none, And that's

(11:05):
a bad look.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Man.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I don't know, but I'm sure the powers that be
Pat Chun and and everybody the you know that the
decision maker is over on Motlake. I'm sure they're looking
at what if this happens, What if Jed goes here?
What if Jed goes there? They you know, the key

(11:30):
to the Huskies is that finding a coach. And I've
noticed a pattern here that you know recently, and you know,
coaches have success and then they want out at you Dub,
not the Seahawks, but at you Dub. You got to
find someone who is obviously great at being a head

(11:52):
coach in the nil era and someone who doesn't want
to leave as soon as he has some success.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
But listen, you know, life's about upgrades.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
But I can tell you, like hypothetically speaking UCLA, that's
not an upgrade. That's like going from Washington in the
penthouse to UCLA and the outhouse. UCLA is one of
the worst power for college football programs in the country,
and they have been for a long long time. The

(12:27):
only thing they even sucked when they had Chip Kelly.
The only thing I remember is the late nineties they
had some success there with Cade McNown and Danny Farmer,
and prior to that, a running back named Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
They had some success in the late name UCLA football

(12:50):
is garbage. It's garbage. So but then it becomes who's next?
Who's next here? And will that person stay?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
All right?

Speaker 13 (13:03):
MJ. My hot take is this. I remember when you
got here and a few months into it you started
talking about boresaid and then you found out it was accessible.
And as I say, the answer is no, Cap you
need to be the spokesman because that's the most genuine
promos I've heard by anybody.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
So yeah, keep it up. I think we have a
leader in the clubhouse now. That was good.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
No, And and one of the reasons as well, why
I asked Patrick, can we do something to give back
to the audience, because it wasn't for the audience and
the text line you know, Bor said, wouldn't be a
partner and sponsor of this show in the station, and
what can we do to give back to the end,
He's like, yeah, we do a plattered bor said sandwiches.

(13:53):
Once a week there we go, and we're doing it
throughout football season. So we appreciate everybody's participated. It's been
great and everybody who's gotten them and you've all gotten them.
One thing I will tell you that we deliver and
Patrick make sure that everybody gets their Boor said sandwich.
Is not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

(14:14):
And everybody's loved it and they you know. So it's
been good to give back to each and every one
of you, especially if you want to share it with
your family, your office, or.

Speaker 14 (14:25):
You want to just keep them to yourself. I don't judge,
hell I would you know, I keep it to myself.
I know that sure, eat a couple, save a few
for later. No, we don't judge. So I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
And Lenny Wilkins is gone, but he will never be
forgotten and his spirit will live forever, not only here
in Seattle and throughout the PNW, but across the NBA.
And if I was Adam Silver, there is no SuperSonics

(15:03):
franchise right now. I petition this, kid. I just thought
about this live on the air. I petition this. They
should put the initials LW on every player's jersey in
the NBA for the rest of the season, on every team.
That's how much lame Lenny Wilkins. Yes, biggest impact Seattle,
no doubt about it. But Cleveland, Toronto, the Knicks, the Raptors,

(15:29):
in just the game of basketball as a whole. How
can we commemorate that? Put LW on every single player's jersey,
mandated starting immediately. Will it happened? I won't hold my
breath because I don't trust the NBA, and you know,

(15:53):
and I hate you know, it's not that I hate
answering the question, but when people ask, like, do you
think they're gonna kind of it's like, at this point, man,
not anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
But do I think they eventually will come back?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, it's just here we are, man, and it's seventeen
years later, and there's no light at the end of
that tunnel. It's been dark for seventeen and a half
long years in counting. So, you know what, I just
don't trust the NBA. But I also brought up now

(16:29):
with the NBA being in at the epicenter of a
horrific gambling scandal that's rocked the league worse than Tim
Donnie he ever did nearly twenty years ago. Maybe you
kind of do the don't look over here, look over there.
Maybe you start to to expedite expansion. Hmm yeah, yeah,

(16:54):
Seattle in Vegas, or Seattle in Mexico City or wherever.
But it's gonna be Seattle in somewhere else, and Seattle's
got to be first and foremost. But I don't trust him,
and I don't know. And Adam Silver comes out with
his empty rhetoric word salad. Well, we have a piece

(17:15):
of pie and it's slicing thirty pieces, and if you
divest the equity, then it's gonna be sliced in thirty
to Oh, shut the f up and just give us
our damn Sonics back. Will you stop with the empty
rhetoric corporate BS word salad, stop, just do it. Your

(17:40):
predecessor did hey gout listen, say what you want about
David Stern when he wanted something done, it was done.
NBA Finals on tape delay, not anymore. Go to CBS
Magic and Larry then NBC Michael in the nineties. You know,
it's just it's like, here's the bottom line.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
I look at life like this.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
If somebody wants to do something, life is predicated on
free will. If somebody wants to do something, they will.
If they don't, they won't. It's pretty simple. So until
the NBA gets their act together and gonna make something
happen to me, they're saying they don't want to expand

(18:30):
that's how I'm gonna take it.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
That's it. They could do it.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
They don't need majority approval, They don't need any of
that crap. They don't need to worry about James Dolan
with the Knicks holding it up. They want to do
what they can. James Dolan's a little troll, that's all
he is. He's a billionaire troll who was a charter
member of the Lucky Sperm Club, who inherited everything from
his family.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
But he's a troll.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Nonetheless, they don't need his approval if they want to
do what they could. So let's just see when they
if they will, and when they will, that's it, all right.
What do you say text to the day coming up next?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Kid?

Speaker 3 (19:04):
I don't know about you. If you have the number
on the last guy. I'll go with him, we do.
I don't have his name, but the fact that you
kind of put a Boresaid thing to it. You're the
winner of a platter of Boresaid sandwich. Do you know
his name, kid or no?

Speaker 8 (19:21):
I'll get it when I call him.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
All right? Cool sounds good.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Congratulations, you are the winner of a platter bores said Sandwiches.
I appreciate everybody who joined in today. Calls and voice texts.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
What do you say? Text of the day brought to
you by Boresaid Text.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
From the R and R Foundation Specialist broadcast studio Now

(20:12):
That's Seattle Autoshow dot com. Hawks have had a decent schedule.
Keep in mind who was enactive for the Bucks game.
A lot of guys on defense and defense also play
extremely well against ammobile quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
I'm interested to see how they play against Stafford and
if they can get pressure in his face. If they do,
I think the Hawks win by six plus points.

Speaker 15 (20:35):
All right, we'll go to you deb football. Jetfish knows
a lot about offense, but he's a bad coach and
doesn't do a good job of preparing his teams.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
He certainly looked that way on Saturday. Does nothing argue
with there? You know, it's certainly you know it's uh man, Mark,
You've been pretty good luck to Seattle's sports since being
in town. Well, apparently not good enough luck for the
Huskies though, so that hasn't you know? I was hoping
they're gonna be a I literally didn't even look at

(21:10):
these games as being any They were just formalities.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
That was it. And yeah, man, I don't know that's
what happened.

Speaker 15 (21:20):
The chess match worries me regarding the Seahawks and Rams,
because the game is set up for the offense to win.
So Donald and the right side of the line will
have to come to play.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Amen.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
That's not Seahawks football. It's Mike McDonald football. It's a
new culture. He has created. Exclamation point. I agree with that.

Speaker 15 (21:44):
If I was to tell you before the game, the
leading passer for Wisconsin would be the kicker, would you
have taken it?

Speaker 3 (21:50):
I wonder how often that has happened. Oh, their QB
sucked Carter Smith. I mean, oh my god, he was horrible, horrible.
I don't even I don't get it, dude, I really
don't get it. Mj you're still new here. Seattle is
just as much a baseball town as football or basketball.

Speaker 15 (22:10):
Okay, fair enough, mj U double losing to Wisconsin wasn't
a bad loss.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
It was an embarrassing loss.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
No doubt, shameful, everything, any bad like adjective you want
to use, that's what it was. I'd love to hear
the people that were against getting rid of Gino for Darnald.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
I know one of them. He's right across the glass
from me.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
Or against it.

Speaker 15 (22:34):
I said, it's simple, if you don't think Luis Riddick
said it perfectly.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Geno Smith can throw a great, beautiful ball.

Speaker 15 (22:41):
If he has no line, he's gonna look bad, and
he's thrown some really bad passes this season. Not to
make all the excuses and say, oh, he's offensive. He's
thrown some really bad footballs. But last time I checked,
did you not lead the league in passing touchdowns? He
had a really good year in twenty twenty two. He
can throw the football if he has the pieces around him.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Yeah, but in the NFL, that's that's an eternity. You go, right,
I turn to go.

Speaker 15 (23:04):
But I don't think that if Sam Donald had what
he has right now with the Seahawks, he would struggle.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
I don't see that being an issue. I think he
would be just as good.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Well, but kid, he wouldn't be because he had dk
JSN and Tyler Lockett. Look at what Sam Darnkald is.

Speaker 8 (23:19):
To my point, the offensive line was trash. They didn't.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
I mean, it's better now.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
I wouldn't exactly sit as far better, right, But like
we're putting, you had a guy retire mid season. Yeah, no,
I got it. No, it's been trash. I got let's
not make it seem but I mean Geno's been trash
with the Raiders too, That's my point. I literally has
been bad this season.

Speaker 15 (23:39):
I'm making excuses, but you're telling me he can't join
the Seahawks today and do what Sam's doing.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
I don't think he could. I don't think I think
he could be better. No, I don't think he can better.
He could be doing what Sam's doing, if not, maybe
a little worse. Maybe he has a couple of turnovers
here and they're fine. Cool, But I dude, he's one
of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL right now.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
I mean he's taught everything I get.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Hey, listen, he wanted the money, he wanted the money,
he got it. Be careful what you wish for. Yeah,
I don't think he's a bad quarterback, like he's bad
this year. Okay, that's right to the point that I'm
making that.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Here's the thing. He's not better than Sam Darnold.

Speaker 13 (24:15):
Pure one.

Speaker 8 (24:15):
I did not say.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Okay, all right, all right, well let me get to
I love to hear people that were against getting rid
of Gino for Donald, or trade and DK to make
JSN number one, or signing Cup. So many people doubted
the Seahawks offseason moves, including national analysts. Those there were
professionals predicting five wins. Oh, I know, we got receipts.
We got receipts. I don't know about y'all.

Speaker 15 (24:38):
But I really cannot stand Joe Buck and Troy aight mean,
mostly because they always seem to talk down about the Seahawks.
But they get caught on a high mat hot mike
saying that there wouldn't be any more flyover flyovers if
I don't know, Biden was elected in twenty twenty, saying
anything like that is so wasteful.

Speaker 8 (24:55):
Get him out of here?

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Did they? What did they say? Can you read that
part again?

Speaker 8 (24:59):
Basically say that if Joe Biden was elected in twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
He was elected in twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Hey, you know all right? Read that whole thing again.
I'm missing this part. I want to hear this again.

Speaker 15 (25:09):
I don't know about y'all. Saw to be the last part. Yeah, oh,
where is it at all?

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Right?

Speaker 15 (25:14):
Being caught on a hot mic, so they weren't saying
it over the air, stating that there wouldn't be any
more flyovers if Biden was elected in twenty twenty, saying
it was wasteful.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Oh, I think they meant twenty twenty four because he
was elected in twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
I think he met last year.

Speaker 8 (25:32):
Hey whatever, okay, yeap?

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Oh did they get caught on the mic, saying that.

Speaker 8 (25:35):
There's some Madio yep act Yeah, I think I don't remember.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Wow, probably wow, Yeah, I don't like to get political,
and next said, wow, I gotta if you can find that,
find that, I'd love to hear it. You gotta give
up the the Sammis to the first dude from the
Sammis the sandwiches from the first dude from Tacoma. Horrible take,
but bro sounds like he might take a long nap
if he doesn't win those sandwiches hashtag Tacoma virgin Well

(26:01):
you didn't win them.

Speaker 15 (26:04):
Let's see if the Seahawks do win on Sunday against
the Rams, should I book my Super Bowl tickets?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yes? Ah, they I'll tell you man.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
You it's like I'm not gonna guarantee anything, but it's
did they look like it's tough to be tough to
beat if they went on Sunday. And by the way,
let's do what all opposing fan bases, including the Steelers
did last night to the Chargers. Let's make that lumin
Field South down there, get down there and take that
place over.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Seriously, they're there.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
They're spineless, they're plastic, superficial and pretentious sports fans down
in LA. They're a joke. Lenny Wilkins will be missed.
My mom had a Lenny Wilkins mirror for her car
for the longest time. That was a big seller in
the eighties here in Seattle. Oh that's great, that's great.
Last one from me. I think the Rams and Niners

(26:56):
game is a potential to be the best game for
the twenty twenty five season, without a doubt. To the
best defense is going up against one another, Sam Donald
and Matthew Stabbert playing at elite levels.

Speaker 8 (27:08):
This is down to be for sure one of the
best games. Well, he meant Ram Seahawks. He said, Rams Niners.
Oh yeah, yeah, Ram Rams Niners.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
That were all right. It wasn't that. I mean, it
wasn't good yesterday. The game before that was decent, But
Ram Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Let's see anyway you can find out how to make
a donation to the Odessa Brown Clinic. I think we
as listeners can honor coach Wilkins and his legacy by
donating to a cause that he was passionate about.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
I think overall, Fish is a very average coach, based
upon everything.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
I have seen.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Let's see here, jet Fish knows a lot about offense. Yeah,
you got that one. He's a bad well similar but
similar to what you said. Bad coach could prepare of
a team that's kind of similar but different to what
you said. Appreciate all the people texting in facts. Let
me see, kid, you're out of your mind on this one.
Geno's trash. Come on, Chris, I live in Vegas and

(28:07):
it's not the O line's fault. Kid, No wonder why
you were oh for however when you made your twenty picks. Yeah,
that's the thing too, kid. You don't mention Gino. And
Mayor has mentioned this a bunch of times. He had
he got a bad attitude in the last few years.
From everything that I've heard from people around here, he
wasn't the Gino that came in here originally and got

(28:29):
this whole place behind it. So bad attitude equals bad
locker room equals no equals bad chemistry. So you can't
take that out of it as well, you know. Yeah,
So anyway, the kid had people, uh, well you just
see that. I don't need to tell you there. They
let's just say they're tonice. They do not agree with your.

Speaker 15 (28:50):
Gino and I could care less gotcha fair enough the
end of the day. I just think if you ask
Lewis Riddick that question, I'd be curious to think if
he's trashed, and I bet you a million dollars he
would not say he's track.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
She is not a bad quarterback? Is he playing bad football?
One thousand?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (29:03):
But his twenty twenty two season shows how can you
go back three years?

Speaker 15 (29:07):
Yes, and you can say about that, I mean like
three years, fine, three hour go back as many three
years three years ago. So in ten years, we'll look
back at Sam Donald's career and we'll take his best years.
We'll talk about how great he was, but we want
to talk about his bag years. I got it, No,
but Donald? But Donald? What what kid? What has he
done last year?

Speaker 1 (29:24):
In this year? What is Gino about?

Speaker 15 (29:26):
Ten years, we'll just point out the three years Sam
was hot and will ignore everything else.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Just the same game. But by the way, you know,
he was with the Jets just like Gino. Gino's sucked
to the Jets too.

Speaker 15 (29:35):
Like you said, we'll just ignore the two years that
Gino had that was really good.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
You look at the bat one that's fine. Fine, but
let's go the last three. Then who's better. That's fine,
you can take Sam fine, well, I mean he's better,
it's not. I'm not just taking him. He is better,
and he's certainly better.

Speaker 8 (29:49):
Think you know is a good quarterback.

Speaker 15 (29:50):
He's playing like crap this season, no excuse now if
and or butts about it, he's bad. I don't know
what you want me to say. But he can throw
the football. He is one of the best scorers of
the football in the league easily. I mean you know
what else could throw the football.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Anthony Richardson and you were high on him and he
lost his job at Daniel Junges.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
All right, but he could throw the football. No, no, no,
But but like he could throw the he's.

Speaker 15 (30:09):
Probably on the NFL far he has no accuracy, has accuracy?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Well, he leads to the league interceptions, so here he's bad.
And by the way, he led the league of interceptions
last right, he can throw that football for sure. All right,
thank you? Someone text in the audio of Joe Buck
and Troy Aikman. I appreciate that. Now I gotta find
out how to bring that text line and check it.
I will check that out. Uh, yeah. By the way,
Hey Seattle, I want you to know, before I ever

(30:35):
got here, I've always hated Joe Buck and Troy Akman.
I want you to know that I think Joe Buck
is so smug that, oh I can't stand him.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Now.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Is he a Hall of Fame announcer in baseball and football? Absolutely,
I can't argue that he is. And Troy Aikman just
as Captain obvious. He tells you what you've already what
Joe just described. I think they both of them are overrated,
But what are you gonna do? Fox loved him and
now ESPN loves him even more. They stole them from Fox.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I will listen to that audio, all right, the mayor
coming up next? Thing to Xavier McDaniel for coming on
today tomorrow, Hugh Millin Tuesday, Tuesday, and PJ. Carlissimo will
join us tomorrow. All right, I in forness coming up next,
Mayor Lenny Wilkins. You remember the nineteen seventy nine what

(31:27):
just how much did he mean to you?

Speaker 12 (31:29):
I think he meant a lot to a lot of
us that are you know, probably fifty five plus maybe,
I mean, I mean, that's a long time ago, seventy nine,
but I do remember it. I mean, it was you know,
but Lenny was so much more than that obviously, just
in the community.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
You know.

Speaker 12 (31:44):
I think even if you don't remember seventy nine, you
know who Lenny Wilkins is. I thought George Carl had
a great line he said, you know, even when I
was coaching the Sonics, I felt like Lenny was still
the coach, you know, which is an interesting line from
George Carl, because George Carl, for for many people, George
Carl is the guy. Yeah, like you know, they took
him to the final and all that, so, you know,
did all stuff in the community. You know, the statue
that they unveiled. Luckily, I'm glad they did it last year,

(32:06):
and I know this year this year rather Yeah, it's
I mean, the obvious elephant in the room is is
that he didn't get to see the NBA come back,
which is just in criminal, right.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
I know, I know, I know that's horrible. I mean
it's horrible. And I brought up something. I said, what
do you think of this idea? The NBA for the
rest of the season should put a patch LW on
every player on every team. That's how much he meant
to the game in basketball.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
Well pretty much coacher played for almost every team right
he played. You know, everyone had a piece of Lenny.
I mean, uh yeah, I don't know. I don't want
any part of Lenny Wilkins Seattle, Lenny Wilkins on the
NBA currently until we get a team back.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
That fair enough.

Speaker 12 (32:51):
But I'm a very very petty individual. So okay, now,
if he was a talk remember talk going on right now.
But yeah, I don't know. It's just it's that's the
unfortunate part, is it. You know, Lenny didn't see it
come to fruition to have the NBA back in that
building under that roof. You know, that's that's the roof
that he played under. That's the roof that he coached under.

(33:12):
And you know, I know, some of us for a
while we're like, who cares about the stupid roof? And
but I'm glad the roof's there now, you know, and
things like this happen and you kind of think back,
and it's that I the iconic Seattle Center Coliseum roof
later Ky Arena, which was far from iconic, But yeah,
I'm glad the roof is still there because under that roof,
Spencer Haywood, Lenny Wilkins, Gus Williams, et.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Cetera, all played under that roof.

Speaker 12 (33:41):
X X played for Bernie for the most part. Mostly
Bernie Bickerstaff was Ex's guy.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, well on to day he was he
was sad. He was sad. And well that was the thing.

Speaker 12 (33:54):
Like even guys that didn't play for for Lenny that
were part of the Sonics organization, he meant something to
them exactly right. So that's just kind of tells you
all you need to know right in that regard. Yeah,
I mean it's that's sat.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Well, where does mal Rushmore of Seattle's coaches, Yeah, oh yeah,
no doubt.

Speaker 12 (34:10):
Well he won a title.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Yeah, him and Pete?

Speaker 12 (34:13):
Yeah, I think yeah, him and Pete. You know most
people put Don James on there. I get that. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I mean I think that's winning the titles. As has
been proven in this town, it is hard to do.
It's very you know, we have two now, all due
respect to the Storm and the Sounders of the major sports.

(34:33):
Of the four major sports, we have two, and one's
an NBA championship with seventy nine obviously. The other one's
Super Bowl forty eight, So you know, I'd always think
about Homegren. He elevated that franchise to the levels that'd
never been before as well.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
So yeah, he's.

Speaker 12 (34:49):
Lenny was Lenny was one of a kind so and
just a huge part of the community.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
No question. Yeah, he definitely was.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Seahawks yesterday unbelievable back to back started off game twenty
eight nothing twenty nothing leads back to back.

Speaker 12 (35:03):
Man, that defense is something. Huh, oh my god, it's
you know, we got Hugh coming to hardcore football. I
think that's crazy, is that they they're doing it with,
you know, with backups like the middle. You know, I
don't know, I'll ask you this. I don't know if
the middle of the defense is like the middle of
a baseball team. But you know, defensive tackle Jerren Reed,

(35:25):
middle linebacker Ernest Jones, and safety and Julian Love all
out middle of your defense got it. And you do
that to those guys, And I don't care if it's
Jacobe Brisatt or Tom Brady in his prime and nobody
getting those two passes off, nobody. Good for Tyree Knight too, man,
Like I'm glad he I'm glad he spoke after the

(35:45):
game and talked about the health battles he had at
the start of the year, which they kind of kept
under wraps at the heart and then the knee and
all those things, because you know, he had been basically
pushed aside for Drake Thomas and and uh but then
lo and behold there he was. So yeah, good for him, good,
good effort. Now it gets I think a little harder next.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah, oh yeah, as as uh.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
The greatest play by play wrestling announcer of all time,
Jim Ross, would say business is about to pick up.

Speaker 12 (36:12):
Well, I think I think it's I just I think
they are the two best teams in the league.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
I really do.

Speaker 12 (36:17):
I think those are the two best teams in the
league right now. I know people have like Seattle in
some number one power rankings. I until they beat the Rams,
I'm not going to go there.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
I got to say this that it's crazy, but winning
on the road at Buffalo in Tampa.

Speaker 12 (36:31):
For the for New England. Yeah, but they're eight and two. Yeah,
I mean they have an absolute crap division though right now.
I mean, yeah, but they beat they want to have
Buffalo Tampa. I mean that's I think the FC is
my I think the a FC is way down this year.
And what what probably would be worrisome for all the
teams in the a FC is there's one team that is

(36:51):
starting to climb back up, and Baltimore well them and
Casey and Casey. It's like the usual sucks, so you
better enjoy time while you can, and there you go.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
So yeah, exactly, I see, and I see what you're
talking about in terms of best in league. I think
you're looking at it as you're talking about in January,
which is that that's that's your thing, not just now. Yeah,
you're talking about two months.

Speaker 12 (37:17):
If I was if I if you said you can
you can take you can take New England or Kansas
City or Baltimore or Buffalo. I'm saying, I want to
see you if we're talking about like the big game
that that that's when you would see them in February.
I take New England all day and every day, all

(37:37):
day and every day.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
You would take New England over them. I would take
to play. It's for Seattle to play. Oh yes, super
Bowl forty nine pretymatch. Yeah all right, Hugh and who else?

Speaker 12 (37:47):
Tom Brady's not on that team no, thank god, and
Russ isn't here right?

Speaker 1 (37:53):
But who was I?

Speaker 12 (37:53):
We got Hugh coming up in the Mike Sander talking
things from the All NFL. He wrote a great story
on the NFC today. We'll get to him. I'm up
at ten two oclock as we can.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Be all right to may Or coming up next. Things
the kid, we will see you tomorrow right here. He
will be on with me tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
PJ.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Carlostimo as well, right here on MJ. In the midday
