what my genie just told me. Okay, Now I want

happy at Washington. But if he if he gets offered
to Florida job, he'll leave. If he gets offered the
UCLA JOBB, he'll leave. If if Laane Kiffin goes to Florida,
h he'll take the old miss job. Uh. You know,
if somebody fills the role to uh to to LSU
you know, Texas A and M whatever, he'll get. Like
there's like at least ten schools that he'll go to.

The genie just whispered that in your ear. Got me.
Now watch the press conference from yesterday and tell me
where's the lie. There's no lie, because he says, people
have no idea what's going on. That's true. I'm he's excited,
the youth, all the things, the money he put in,

things are true. And you know the idea that that
his his daughter in high school at Arizona would have
anything to do it, that's true too. So now he
didn't tell any lie. But you already know the genie

happy at Washington, but he's his head is on a swivel.
He's looking and he's just waiting for that next opportunity. Okay,

said that, Kaylen Dear. That's Jedfish in Tucson as the

to hear something. Now I'm gonna say this with an asterisk.
I'm gonna say I'm gonna quote Dan Lanning. Okay. He said, Uh,
if you're quote, if you're scared your coach is leaving,
then come to play for us. The Ducks aren't going anywhere.

what is the interest level in other jobs? One word?
Answer zero? Then said, yeah, I'm not leaving Oregon. Now. Clearly,
if let's just think for an attorney for a second,

Fish said. First of all, in layers of of of impact,
Fish's comments yesterday in this set that I'm about to
list are the lowest, okay. The next highest is Fish's
comments at Arizona, and the next highest is Dan Lannings
in terms of impact in terms of stating on where

they want to be. Let me repeat that again. Fish's
comments yesterday is the lowest. Fish is comments at Arizona
in the middle, and Dan Lanning's are the strongest. Agreed, Yes,
of course you agreed, okay, And even at that if
Lanning were to take the LSU job or whatever. You know,
he that's just the way coaches talk. So Lanning had

people who are somehow deriving some comfort. Look, if Jetfish
truly like the genie number one, If Jetfish's mindset is
that I want to say at Washington, his comments yesterday

that you know, he's got a lot of stickers on
the on the back of his passport, got a lot
of stickers on a suitcase. He's moved around a lot,
so he's that history is going to invite these questions

Washington and and which case that that it would be

kind of sad that he has to go through. Not sad,
it would be it would be predictable and and be
inconvenient for having to have it to do this. But
it's also consistent with the idea. Yeah, I like Washington
everything he said, I'm excited. Yeah, we got young guys,
all that stuff. But here's a list of five schools
that if they come calling and they they can match
or exceed my contract at Washington, I'm out here, and

some of them may be for family reasons. Okay, So
so I don't I don't know. I don't, I don't.
I don't really get uh. Have the attorney's way in
how about this? What's the text line trial attorneys? And
can we walk through the logic? Because I know that
a good trial attorneys when when he's sitting there listening,

he's he's listening to what is exactly that witness saying?
And is he binding himself into anything? Jedfish didn't bind
himself into anything. He didn't even bind himself to the
level that he had when he was on the Jim
Rohan Show and the and the Richild Show when he

can do. The fact is we don't have that genie.

of Florida offers him twillion dollars, do you think he's

after year or two this year, If we can agree

that there's some job that he would and it's actually
plural there are some jobs that he would take. If
we can agree on that, then we're just with Then
it's just a question is how big is the set
of jobs that he would take.

I look at this right now where I think this

probably at the behest of Pat Chun and the administration,
because he came out and they asked him about jobs.

is the greatest coach that ever lived, much more so
than Belichick. You know, in part because Saban won seven
national titles with six quarterbacks. You know, Belichick won six
titles with one quarterback, and when he didn't have that

one quarterback, whether it's at the Browns or pre Brady
or post Brady, anyways, that's not the point. The point
is that the very best and brightest have not been
able to navigate this land mine without stepping on on
bombs or at least stepping on rakes. Right as I'm
mixing metaphors. But the point is is that there has

never been a comment out of Jedfish's mouth that as
the Washington coach, including yesterday's, there has never been a
comment that has been as strong as the comments he
made when he was at Arizona. Now I understand so
well the things went wobbly with the contract and what have.
You can always, you know, be an apologist, but you

know clearly it's not as strong as Dan Lanning's comments. Hugh,
you're not one. You'd be nonsensical to say that his
denial is to the level of Dan Lanny. It's not close,
not even close. Hugh.

don't like to make predictions on games, and I respect

been there now in Tucson for two straight years, and

have a nice quality of life. And I to me,
I just have a premonition. I do not think he

and I if I put this poll out there, you know,
on Kate, you know, and get it out there on
kJ or Twitter, do you think Jed Fish will still
be the coach of the Washington Huskies in twenty twenty six,
I would guarantee. I won't guarantee, but I would predict
seventy plus percent people that would vote on that pole,
would say no, yeah, I have my opinion.

I then, well, you know, I'm an analyst, a former
you know, player, and so what is your gun instinctability? Yeah,
what is your gun Instee. If I'm just with my
frat buddies and at the Fiji hous of Washington and
we're just sitting around and somebody said, you know, all right,

I would say, no, all right, that's it. That's it.

would just say this, I think Jedfish did an admirable
job yesterday of doing the best he could to squelch things.
He brought up things in a way that seemed like
it was leading to a conclusion, which it really didn't.

the idea is that I'm I'm really excited about Washington

doesn't really answer the question. Yeah, yeah, you know, yeah,
the question is, yeah, you're excited about Washington. But how
many schools if they came to you and offered more
money he's making seven million, How many schools would you
leave for based on professional and personal reasons? How many
schools would you leave for for more than seven million?

And I don't I don't blame I don't blame the
media for not asking him that question because because I
know he wouldn't answer that question, and so so. But
but I'm the folly in my mind is is if
anybody thinks they gleaned anything from yesterday. And by the way,
it was good timing yesterday. Now he was right, he

was apt to address it because of the Newsweek article.
So I'm saying the timing he didn't pull the You know,
this wasn't like a Friday news dump where you raise
your eyebrows about the timing. But it was fortunate that
we got to stop talking about the Wisconsin game and
then talk about Jetfish's loyalty. Right, so, and again, Jetfish

did everything he should have yesterday. But coaches are in
a mind, and he didn't rise to the level of
Arizona of his Arizona comments, and he didn't rise to
the level of the Landing comments. Of those three, he
had the least impact and strength to his comments yesterday. Well,
I will say this, I could not blame him. If

he was offered the job to his alma mater, there's
something that hits different. And for a guy who's idol
and mentor gave him his first shot at being a
unpaid grad assistant with Steve Spurrier, I would have no issue.
Here's I'm looking at from Washington standpoint, and this is
the point that if he does go somewhere else, let's

just say hypothetically he does, and you and I our
intuitions and our suspicions are affirmed, and he does end
up leaving, which I don't think is out of the
realm of comprehension. Washington is now hitting the reset button
on a head coach for the third time and four years,
and that to me is just that's that sucks. I mean,

for any program, I think I think we've already taken
it to the edge of you know, appropriateness. Honestly, so
I want to I don't want to get into Okay,
now let's turn the page and say what is Washington
facing when and if that happens, I I look there
there there's a very good chance that we're wrong and

let's beat Purdue. Uh, let's go down and put a
stomp on U c l A. Which will be an
interesting because because Casey Washerman is the number one booster
at u c l A. And and and he has
relations in professional relationships so so so so you know

associated with U c l A, uh that may want
Jed Fish. That'll be an interesting game if if Jed

happy at Washington. But if he if he gets offered
to Florida job, he'll leave. If he gets offered the
UCLA JOBB, he'll leave. If if Laane Kiffin goes to Florida,
h he'll take the old miss job. Uh. You know,
if somebody fills the role to uh to to LSU
you know, Texas A and M whatever, he'll get. Like
there's like at least ten schools that he'll go to.

The genie just whispered that in your ear. Got me.
Now watch the press conference from yesterday and tell me
where's the lie. There's no lie, because he says, people
have no idea what's going on. That's true. I'm he's excited,
the youth, all the things, the money he put in,

how he you know, got a nutrition bar. All those
things are true. And you know the idea that that
his his daughter in high school at Arizona would have
anything to do it, that's true too. So now he
didn't tell any lie. But you already know the genie
told you that he's yeah, he's kind of he's pretty
happy at Washington, but he's his head is on a swivel.
He's looking and he's just waiting for that next opportunity. Okay,

So so it it there. There's nothing that he said. Now,
you and to further underscore that point, I'm gonna give
it you a quote. You you you paid Pin the
coach on the quote, okay ready, quote I have no
interest in going in anywhere on a uh uh in
the same interview, we want to be part of this

program for a long time. I couldn't do that to
my wife. She has made twelve's moves with me. Pin
Pin the the the coach on the quote, Okay, yeah
said that, Kaylen Dear. That's Jedfish in Tucson as the

Arizona coach. Oh, now you want to hear you want
to hear something. Now I'm gonna say this with an asterisk.
I'm gonna say I'm gonna quote Dan Lanning. Okay. He said, Uh,
if you're quote, if you're scared your coach is leaving,
then come to play for us. The Ducks aren't going anywhere.

I'm not leaving. Okay, Then asks Unrich Eisen. He says,
what is the interest level in other jobs? One word?
Answer zero? Then said, yeah, I'm not leaving Oregon. Now. Clearly,
if let's just think for an attorney for a second,
the difference between what Landing said at Oregon and what

Fish said. First of all, in layers of of of impact,
Fish's comments yesterday in this set that I'm about to
list are the lowest, okay. The next highest is Fish's
comments at Arizona, and the next highest is Dan Lannings
in terms of impact in terms of stating on where

they want to be. Let me repeat that again. Fish's
comments yesterday is the lowest. Fish is comments at Arizona
in the middle, and Dan Lanning's are the strongest. Agreed, Yes,
of course you agreed, okay, And even at that if
Lanning were to take the LSU job or whatever. You know,
he that's just the way coaches talk. So Lanning had

the strongest comments that a coach can make. I'm not leaving.
If your coaches, if you're scared your coaches leaving, then
come play for us, because I'm not leaving. Like, how
can you be stronger? Much stronger when Fish is ever
said at Washington or Oregon, and yet Landing still could could?
Uh Nick Saban, you know, Nick Dame. Like if Lanning

wants the LSU job and LSU is willing to pay,
he's gone. And that's just the way it is. So
people who are somehow deriving some comfort. Look, if Jetfish
truly like the genie number one, If Jetfish's mindset is
that I want to say at Washington, his comments yesterday
are exactly consistent with that, and and in which case

that's kind of unfortunate for Jed other than the fact
that you know, he's got a lot of stickers on
the on the back of his passport, got a lot
of stickers on a suitcase. He's moved around a lot,
so he's that history is going to invite these questions
and these topics Okay, but what he said yesterday is
very consistent with the guy who wants to stay at
Washington and and which case that that it would be

kind of sad that he has to go through. Not sad,
it would be it would be predictable and and be
inconvenient for having to have it to do this. But
it's also consistent with the idea. Yeah, I like Washington
everything he said, I'm excited. Yeah, we got young guys,
all that stuff. But here's a list of five schools
that if they come calling and they they can match
or exceed my contract at Washington, I'm out here, and

some of them may be for family reasons. Okay, So
so I don't I don't know. I don't, I don't.
I don't really get uh. Have the attorney's way in
how about this? What's the text line trial attorneys? And
can we walk through the logic? Because I know that
a good trial attorneys when when he's sitting there listening,

he's he's listening to what is exactly that witness saying?
And is he binding himself into anything? Jedfish didn't bind
himself into anything. He didn't even bind himself to the
level that he had when he was on the Jim
Rohan Show and the and the Richild Show when he
was at Arizona. Excuse me, not not rich Ilon. That
was that was landing the Jim Room Show when he

was at Arizona. So I was just on a Jim
Rome show last week too. Look, there's not much he
can do. The fact is we don't have that genie.
We don't know what is in his head. We don't.
We can we can make inferences. How about this, if
you're really, if you're certain that Jetfish is not going
let me let me ask you this. If the University
of Florida offers him twillion dollars, do you think he's

saying no, you know, absolutely not.

offers him twelve million to go be the coach of

job that Jedfish will take this year, I'm talking about
after year or two this year, If we can agree

that there's some job that he would and it's actually
plural there are some jobs that he would take. If
we can agree on that, then we're just with Then
it's just a question is how big is the set
of jobs that he would take.

I look at this right now where I think this
became a major thing. And I think he did this yesterday,
probably at the behest of Pat Chun and the administration,
because he came out and they asked him about jobs.

He goes, no comment.

that means. Doesn't mean you're staying. It doesn't mean you're going.
It just kind of means that. And by the way,
I'll even throw you one further. I covered Nick Saban
his two years as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
He explicitly said, over and over and over again, I
am not going to Alabama.

And then they showed a few days later he was
landing right there at Tuscaloosa International and.

Look, and I look some of the smartest guys that

is the greatest coach that ever lived, much more so
than Belichick. You know, in part because Saban won seven
national titles with six quarterbacks. You know, Belichick won six
titles with one quarterback, and when he didn't have that

one quarterback, whether it's at the Browns or pre Brady
or post Brady, anyways, that's not the point. The point
is that the very best and brightest have not been
able to navigate this land mine without stepping on on
bombs or at least stepping on rakes. Right as I'm
mixing metaphors. But the point is is that there has

never been a comment out of Jedfish's mouth that as
the Washington coach, including yesterday's, there has never been a
comment that has been as strong as the comments he
made when he was at Arizona. Now I understand so
well the things went wobbly with the contract and what have.
You can always, you know, be an apologist, but you

know clearly it's not as strong as Dan Lanning's comments. Hugh,
you're not one. You'd be nonsensical to say that his
denial is to the level of Dan Lanny. It's not close,
not even close. Hugh.

You're someone who doesn't get into predicting the future. You
don't like to make predictions on games, and I respect
you for that. Obviously, it's something I host the show

kJ or Twitter, do you think Jed Fish will still

I would guarantee. I won't guarantee, but I would predict
seventy plus percent people that would vote on that pole,
would say no, yeah, I have my opinion.

I then, well, you know, I'm an analyst, a former
you know, player, and so what is your gun instinctability? Yeah,
what is your gun Instee. If I'm just with my
frat buddies and at the Fiji hous of Washington and
we're just sitting around and somebody said, you know, all right,

we're all in this on a one dollar bet, you know,
I would say, no, all right, that's it. That's it.
So you got it. Yeah, that's all that I hope, hope.
That would mean fifty percent plus a feather, you got me? Yeah,
that that just means that it's more probable than not.

would just say this, I think Jedfish did an admirable
job yesterday of doing the best he could to squelch things.
He brought up things in a way that seemed like
it was leading to a conclusion, which it really didn't.
So we didn't really get much, you know. But basically,
the idea is that I'm I'm really excited about Washington

doesn't really answer the question. Yeah, yeah, you know, yeah,
the question is, yeah, you're excited about Washington. But how
many schools if they came to you and offered more
money he's making seven million, How many schools would you
leave for based on professional and personal reasons? How many
schools would you leave for for more than seven million?

That's in essence, let me just let me just tell me.
And I don't I don't blame I don't blame the
media for not asking him that question because because I
know he wouldn't answer that question, and so so. But
but I'm the folly in my mind is is if
anybody thinks they gleaned anything from yesterday. And by the way,
it was good timing yesterday. Now he was right, he

was apt to address it because of the Newsweek article.
So I'm saying the timing he didn't pull the You know,
this wasn't like a Friday news dump where you raise
your eyebrows about the timing. But it was fortunate that
we got to stop talking about the Wisconsin game and
then talk about Jetfish's loyalty. Right, so, and again, Jetfish
(16:56):
did everything he should have yesterday. But coaches are in
a mind, and he didn't rise to the level of
Arizona of his Arizona comments, and he didn't rise to
the level of the Landing comments. Of those three, he
had the least impact and strength to his comments yesterday. Well,
I will say this, I could not blame him. If

he was offered the job to his alma mater, there's
something that hits different. And for a guy who's idol
and mentor gave him his first shot at being a
unpaid grad assistant with Steve Spurrier, I would have no issue.
Here's I'm looking at from Washington standpoint, and this is
the point that if he does go somewhere else, let's

just say hypothetically he does, and you and I our
intuitions and our suspicions are affirmed, and he does end
up leaving, which I don't think is out of the
realm of comprehension. Washington is now hitting the reset button
on a head coach for the third time and four years,
and that to me is just that's that sucks. I mean,

for any program, I think I think we've already taken
it to the edge of you know, appropriateness. Honestly, so
I want to I don't want to get into Okay,
now let's turn the page and say what is Washington
facing when and if that happens, I I look there
there there's a very good chance that we're wrong and

right and so and and I think first things first,
let's beat Purdue. Uh, let's go down and put a
stomp on U c l A. Which will be an
interesting because because Casey Washerman is the number one booster
at u c l A. And and and he has
relations in professional relationships so so so so you know

who whatever, however big that that pool is of people
associated with U c l A, uh that may want
Jed Fish. That'll be an interesting game if if Jed
