Speaker 1 (00:01):
Not tomorrow November fifteenth, So be the tenth caller every
hour when Christopher Kidd plays that, sound Hugh Millin, All right,
you Rashid Shaheed for a fourth and sixth round pick.
Get right into it, like it yet? Good move, bad
move or just a meh move? What do you think?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Probably closer to the ladder. From my perspective, since the
trade went down, I have looked at all sixty six
of the targeted plays to to Shaheed from this season.
A couple things. First of all, just let's just go bio.

(00:43):
He's five to ten and five eighths at the combine
one hundred and eighty five pounds. Now, I think he's
added weight. He looks he looks thicker. I think he
looks closer to you know, certainly north of one ninety
one ninety five is so uh he's that there's no
forty time on him. So I'm just going off with
the speed that I see on the tape. He turned

(01:03):
twenty seven on August thirty first of this year. He's
in his fourth year now. As as for you know,
his profile, I would say, given what I just said
about is his size and thirty one inch arms and
everything I would project him. Normally those type of guys

(01:24):
are slot receivers. But this year he's got one hundred
and eighty snaps in the slot and two hundred and
forty six out wide, which are mostly distributed left and right.
The year before, when Clint Kubiak was the offensive coordinator
at the Saints, again see he'd had seventy snaps in

(01:45):
the slot two hundred and fourteen out wide, and then
the catches from this year and last year are more
or less commensurate with those proportions. So so he has
been more of an outside receiver, both in terms of
snaps and his catches. Uh. In looking at him, I

(02:06):
think there's a there's a the quickness with his feet.
He's got a sewing machine quality to his feet at
some of the top of his brakes. I think his quickness.
Now he's got pump returning kickoff return. I haven't really
delved into that, but just looking at the numbers. So
he's got he's got kick return quality aspects to his

(02:28):
to his game. And you know, they run bubble screens
to him, they run the rocket sweeps to him and
what have you. I think he's good, not elite in
that regard as an outside receiver. I think his long speed.
Now he had a he had an eighty seven yard
or on a high corner route against the Raiders, I believe,

(02:50):
but but perfect time, eighty seven yard touchdown and I'm
waiting for I'm just kind of watching his long speed,
who's catching up to him and what have you? And
I liked it. I thought it was good long speed.
His quickness, I think is is again a good not elite.
His toughness, Uh, they run a lot of slant routes.
Uh you know, I think I think there's times I don't.

(03:12):
I don't think he's an elite a contested ball guy,
but he did show on a number of snaps some
toughness where uh you know, I think with the quarterbacking
that the Saints have had, Uh, there there's some late
balls in there. There's some dirted balls, so don't look
at the catch rate. But there's times where where you

(03:33):
had Spencer Ratler throw the ball in late. One of
them was against the Seahawks Tyocotta. He took He's taken
some blows going over the middle, and I would say
I would give him a good report in that regard.
So I'm I'm a little bit surprised. I did not
like hearing that it was a fourth and fifth round.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I know, I didn't like that either, man, two of them.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, I when you know, I'm I was actually studying
the and and the tape that I'm watching is is
the inner cut. It's the same stuff that the Seahawks watch.
It's the coaches copy from the NFL beat. And so
I'm watching on on one screen, I'm looking at the
all twenty two, the sideline copy. At the other end,
I'm watching the end zone copy. So I'm you know,

(04:19):
I'm I'm ascertaining these these observations based on those tapes.
And and as I'm watching, you know, the news breaks
that it's a fourth and f fifth and and that.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Kind of sar you a little bit. You it did
for me.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I lie, yeah, I mean, you know, I I spent
a lot of time studying the draft in my years
at kJ R. And so I think I'm gonna like
it the pick this Sunday. I don't think I'm gonna
like the pick in the third week of April, if
that makes sense. So he'd better do something between now
and the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Well, by the way.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I don't I don't like how I said that.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
No, I like what you said there.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
You don't have to prove anything to me. Well, you
don't have to, but but for me as a fan,
I think there's gonna have to be you know, some
good production, some real good production before I'm gonna be
happy about giving up a fourth and a fifth round
or for him.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Hugh Millen here on MJ in the Midday Sports Radio
ninety three to three kJ RFM, I do like what
you said about you're okay with it now going into
Sunday's game against Arizona more than you will be the
third week of April, which is the NFL Draft, and
I'm with you. You'll be like, we gave a fourth and
a fifth round pick for Rashid Shahid. That's what we're

(05:38):
gonna be saying on April twenty fifth and twenty six
next year, Hugh, That's what we're gonna be saying. I mean, like,
why did we do that? Now that being said, what
would you do if you could get your druthers one
or the other. Now, let's just assume that you Chennannuosu
will sign off on making a deal. Oh, by the way,

(05:59):
blockbull two, the Jets are trading three time pro bowler
Quinn Williams to the Cowboys. So the Jets are are
absolutely cleaning freaking house right now.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
They yeah, they should, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
So that they thal Sauce Gardner then Quinn Williams. It
is It is just crazy. So would you You could
do one or the other? And you're John Schneider and
you're in a catbird seat, and you could get Wyatt Teller,
providing that the locker room doesn't have an issue with
him and Mike McDonald doesn't have an issue with him
after that cheap chop block in pre season. Okay, all right?

(06:37):
Would you want him or Trey Hendrickson?

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Oh? Boy, well, I assuming you have to give up
more for Hendrickson, right, a guy who led the NFL
in sacks a year ago, and he's he's I know
he's on the wrong side of thirty. But isn't he
just thirty or is he thirty one now?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Or thirty one? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:56):
So you would take Teller? Is that it?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
I haven't I haven't studied them enough. I don't want
to talk out of my ass, which I would be
if I said, I here's what I can say where
I don't feel like I'm talking out of my ass.
I think that the the the weakest position on the
team is right guard, and so if you can if
you can upgrade that, uh, then you know, and and
and obviously there's some injury questions that surface. Obviously we

(07:24):
now wonder about uh Cooper Cup what is what is
this acquisition of she Heed? What does that say about that?
You know, Tory Horton was you know, seemed to be
putting a stake to the idea of of an emerging guy.
So I didn't I was surprised by the she Heed

(07:45):
uh acquisition and again fourth and fifth round, it seemed
that seems about as steep as you'd ever want to
pay UH in that regard. But we'll see what they
do with it. But but getting back to.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
The right guard, Uh yeah, I mean, I mean, now, I.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Anthony Bradford had his best game the other night, but
the matchup, I mean, he was going against one of
the least uh, I don't know, the least dynamic defensive
tackles in the NFL. I mean the week before, you know,
he had a seventy nine passer grading. Pass block grading
by PFF. Just so you know the way PFF does it.

(08:22):
They start at sixty six to zero on every play
and then and then you got to get points either
plus or minus from sixty and that determines your grade.
So so if you have a seventy nine grade, you
had a lot of plays that were thought to be
above average plays because if it's just an average play,

(08:42):
they levey at average and then you stay at sixty.
So a seventy nine grade is great. Here's the problem.
He had a fifteen grade the week before against the Texans,
won five, and against Tampa Bay he had a zero
grade against on thirty nine past. I didn't know you
could get to zero when you started, Well, hey, you

(09:06):
know you, I know you can go.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
I'm kind of making a radio crack, but.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
That's not I love it. I love it, but.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
I'm being little like I didn't know you could get
to zero from sixty. Wow. So so so I'll maintain
it now.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Now, this is not the week to bang on Anthony Bradford.
He had his best game of the season, maybe of
his career. But you know you can't, you know, you
can't be influenced by that when it comes to the
trade deadline.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Hugh, I'm gonna give you credit on this. If I
recall my memory, you know, it's it's a blessing and
a curse, but it's a steel trap. I remember when
the Seahawks got MVS. We were all talking about, Hey,
this is a guy, he's going to be a number
two to JSN, who's going to go to number one?
And if I'm I'm not mistaken, I think you're the

(09:58):
one who said after they signed him that don't be
surprised if this guy's cut in training camp. If I am,
I right on that.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah, you know I I studied the tape all day
and night when they acquired MVS. You know, Ashley had
asked me, can you go come on with Chuck and
Buck tomorrow morning? And I said yeah. So I wanted
to do my diligence, and I wasn't happy about the conclusion.
After watching the tape, I knew what I was going
to say. I was kind of in a bad mood.

(10:28):
I had a pit in my stomach because I didn't
want to come on. I don't want to douse the parade.
You know, people were saying, Okay, this is the this
is the replacement for DK. This is this, This is
your ex receiver with speed. Okay, we're good. We got
that handle. And I said, look, don't be surprised if
he gets cut in training camp. They haven't invested much

(10:49):
like this is you know every as well, it's he's Clink.
He played for Clint Kubiak. Kubiak knows. I said, that's
not what I'm seeing on the tape. And and so
clearly this acquisition of Shaheed, don't kid yourself. This is
not a John Schneider. This is a John Schneider final. Uh,
you know he signed off on it. But the guy

(11:10):
who had to stand on the table for this was
Clint Kobiak and who coached him last year, right, And
so you know that's just how can I say that?
I just say that's basically how NFL teams operate. And
so I don't think there's any question that John Schnyder

(11:30):
said said to Clint, Okay, you're if you're telling me
that's that he's worth a four. And now maybe they
didn't talk value, but if you're telling me he's that good,
and then they arrived at the fourth or fifth round pick,
you know, I mean he's twenty seven years old. You're
getting maybe three years out of them. And so that's
why teams when they are reluctant to give up draft picks,

(11:51):
it's because of that and a fourth and a fifth
when you consider kJ Wright was a fourth and Richard
Sherman was a fifth, and you know, I don't need
to go down the list of all the you know,
the great you know, Cam Chancer was a fifth. Like, like,
you know, you give up a chance to get one
of those guys for a player that you've already seen
four years of tape with in the NFL and you've

(12:13):
coached him, you jolly well better get really good production
in my opinion, because of everything you're giving up and
you're only getting three years of good production out of them.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Yeah, I do remember. So my memory did serve me
correct on this one. Okay. So I didn't get a
chance to talk to you since Sunday Night. What was
the hum millin Red Pen? I would imagine a lot
of ink came out of that red pen after Sunday
Night's performance thirty eight to fourteen over the Commanders. Obviously,
from my standpoint, the running game, Hugh, why is it's

(12:45):
still an issue but let's get to the good part.
Sam Darnold, now we're talking. I mean, Lewis Riddick came
on yesterday. I'm going to replay that in forty five minutes.
He said, there's no doubt he's an MVP candidate. Did
you have this on your bingo? I know you nailed
the mvs, but Hugh Miller, did you have Sam Donald
as an MVP candidate going in a week ten?

Speaker 2 (13:08):
No?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
No, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
But but the only thing, and I chose my words carefully,
what I said is I don't know what Sam Donald's
going to be moving forward from twenty five. And but
if you compare the twenty twenty four seasons of Geno
Smith to the twenty twenty four season of Sam Donald,

(13:32):
and people say, well, Sam Donald had good protection. Okay,
that's the biggest myth in football if any when anybody
says that, because all you have to do is look
at all the injuries and I'm not going to go
over them that's a year ago. But just how how
Sam Donald played the position. Clearly a significantly better quarterback

(13:53):
by NFL standards in the year twenty twenty four than
Gino Smith. I mean, I'll just I will you know,
Diana Beats on that proclamation, but I didn't know, you know,
I said, look, it's a it's it's probably a higher ceiling.
We've seen less of Sam Donald. Then we had a
pretty good idea about what Gino Smith was. There's more

(14:14):
of a variance as what we could see from Sam Donald.
But he's absolutely an MVP candidate. And and I'll and
and I'll tell you, uh here here's here's a thought
for what Sam Donald's doing. Remember now he was he
was drafted as a twenty year old UH by the
New York Jets, and he gave up two years of
eligibility at USC and the two first two offensive coordinators

(14:38):
that that he played under, including Jeremy Bates, a former
Seahawk offense coordinator, they were done and never got an
NFL job after that. Do you know how rare that is? Tonight,
get like a tight end coaching job somewhere, so so
and and and and I'll close with this on where
he is. If you take the hit. Now, this is

(14:58):
the six stee starts are more in the history of
the NFL. There's only three quarterbacks who've won seventy five
percent of their games autogram Darryl Lamonica and Pat Mahomes.
Tom Brady won seventy four point nine percent, so he
misses it by point one percent. Okay, so now we've

(15:19):
established what seventy five percent is. Now, admittedly, let me
repeat again. This is over sixty starts. But Sam Darnold
is six and two as a Seahawks quarterback. Obviously seventy
five percent. He was eighteen and six in his prior
twenty four games prior to being a Seahawk, which is

(15:41):
seventy five percent. And so now he's sitting there at
twenty four and thirty two. He in his last thirty
two games, he's won seventy five percent of his games.
At some point, somebody's gonna have to say, hey, this
guy's just figured out how to play professional quarterbacking.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Oh and he's doing it. And how about this you,
I'm gonna give you one I think you appreciate. In
NFL history, only four quarterbacks have done the following over
their team's first eight games of the season completed seventy
percent is passes thrown for two thousand plus yards, thrown
for fifteen plus tds, taking fewer than ten sacks. Those

(16:20):
quarterbacks Drew Brees in twenty eighteen, Peyton Manning in two
thousand and nine MVP, and Tom Brady's historic single season
passing touchdown record in seven on the team that went
eighteen and one. And there's one more player, Sam Darnold
twenty twenty five. That's pretty good company.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah, no, I love it. I mean he is. He
is playing a masterclass in what I call the sophisticated,
refined parts of quarterbacking. He's using his eyes. I mean
he was moving Bobby Wagner around that. Bobby's manning the
hook zone. Think of that like a shortstop, our second
basement in an infield. Uh when when man coverage, he

(17:03):
was the lurk and and you watch the end zone
copy as I have, and Darnold was just moving him
like a joystick like it was like it was Madden,
and and then finding the windows to throw right in
behind him. And so that that process of of saying, Okay,

(17:24):
I know exactly where I want to go with the ball,
but I know the timing down to the tenth of
a second. I'm if I look here, I know I'm
going to be throwing down an analog clock. I know
I'm throwing to one o'clock. But if I put my
eyes at eleven o'clock for exactly the right amount of time,
then I put my foot on the ground and then
throw it back to one o'clock, that hole is going

(17:46):
to be open for me. It provided I look at
eleven o'clock for exactly the right amount of time. I mean,
he's doing that kind of stuff. I liken it to
a five hundred level class in you know, when you're
getting your major, if you're in grad school, you know
it's you know, it's not one hundred level quarterbacking. He's
five six hundred level quarterbacking. And you know the numbers

(18:08):
that you shared reflect that.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
No question. So, Hugh, before I let you go, how
concerned are you about this lack of running game consistency?
And what do they have to do? They're not going
away from it, but you just look at the numbers
after the game, You're like, man, how does this team
keep winning when the fact that they're just not able
to establish the run?

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Well, I'm very concerned, And if you had to ask me,
I mean, let me let me just talk just common sense.
First of all, the the whether it's Vegas or just
your rationale, you're guntel the Seahawks are probably not going
to win the Super Bowl. Okay, they could. I think
they're in a group of contenders, and and they're absolutely

(18:55):
you know that, they're they're you know, and billboard, they're
with a bullet right their rising. So I'm not dampening anything.
But but you know, Vegas, you say, Okay, would you
rather bet the Sea actually win the Super Bowl or
you get the field? Obviously you get the field, right,
So the probability is that we're going to be doing

(19:15):
an epithaph of the twenty twenty five season when it
finally ends. Maybe it's the morning after the Super Bowl
and they lose it, but whatever it is, the probability
is they probably won't win it. And when we write
that epithaph, we're going to say the inability to run
the football was their biggest undoing. And I think that

(19:37):
the close cousin of that is going to be when
you face a really good defense, might beat the Eagles. Now, hell,
they're you know, they're they're acquiring Pro Bowl level defensive
ends for third rounders right now, you know, but it's
going to probably be associated with you couldn't run the ball,
and you had a poor day protecting Sam Darnold, and

(19:58):
the combination of those, because they are related, is probably
going to be their undoing. So yeah, I'm concerned as hell.
Now on a bright spot, the two thousand and eleven
New York Giants, they were just a wild card team.
They got hot. They weren't really even great defense. They
got hot defensively at the last three or four games

(20:21):
of the regular season. They got hot defensively in the playoffs.
They beat the Patriots twenty one to seventeen, held obviously
Brady under twenty points. They won the Super Bowl, and
they had the thirty second.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Ranked running game.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
And I'm talking about the twenty eleven Giants. So it
can be done. It just doesn't happen very often. So
you know, that might be the template for the Seahawks.
But yeah, it's a big concern. And you know, doc
to Anthony Bradford, if they were able to replace him today,
I think that an even better day.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
No question.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Hugh.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Always appreciate Tuesday Tuesday, appreciate your insight and analysis. And yeah,
right now, the Seahawks are still second to last in
yards per carry in the NFL, the only team behind
them the San Francisco forty nine ers. So that's an
interesting thing to keep an eye on.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Hugh.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
We'll talk to you again on Tuesday. Thanks again.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Always good to be with you.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Mark you yes, sir, Always good to have you too, Hugh,
kid Factor Fiction next be the tenth caller two six
two eight six ninety five ninety five. You're the tenth coler.
You want a pair of tickets to see the crack
and play November fifteenth against the San Jose Sharks. Appreciate
everybody letting us know on the text line. Apparently there's

(21:44):
some static out there. We're working on it. Okay, we
got the people up on the tower. We're working on it.
But thank you for letting us know.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Though.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
We really appreciate everybody letting us know. So we're just
going to continue to work and do what we do
as if there's no staf. So I'll make a corny
joke here, some of you will prefer static to me,
So there you go. I mean, now you get your
wish so, but we are working on it seriously and

(22:13):
we hope to have that problem fixed very soon. We
can assure you all right. And coming up next man
and the next segment. Uh oh, there's an owner in
pro sports right now that is in deep ish really

(22:34):
really really bad and it's only going to get worse.
It's bad. And the smoking gun has bullets coming out
of it right now, really bad. So we'll get to
that coming up next. But nonetheless, kid, you should have
won on that Bengals Bears. You should have won.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Yes, I should have one. There's nothing I can do
about it but move forward and hopefully, hopefully this man,
hopefully I can get some luck on my next role,
which is coming up Factor fiction.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Hey, guys, you know you know I want to say
you want you want to you want to say hi.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
But here's the thing. The Bengals have the worst defense
in the NFL this side of Dallas, Indy. They blew it.
You had the cover at Flaco Play and it wasn't
Jake Browning.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
You know, I've gotten very unlucky this season.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
I'm not here to make excuses, but I got a
guaranteed winner for you in about thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
You put the G word on it. You're gonna guarantee
this gear.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
How does Charles Barkley say, gear run to America. I'm
going with it. But twenty seconds. You guys text in
four nine four five one fact. That's all you have
to do. You don't have to worry about fiction because
it's gonna be a fact.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
Oh wow. He's calling his shot like Babe Ruth in
the World Series. He's pulling the right field like the
Notatch Robert Redford the Now. Actually he's pointing a right
field and he say it's gonna go there. All right,
here we go. It's time for fact or fiction. Where's
that to go? Glad you're with us.

Speaker 7 (24:09):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's fact door fiction, probably
presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and hotel where every day
feels lucky. Fact door Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJR FM.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
All right, mister guarantee, let's go.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
You know, I probably shouldn't have said that because Charles Barkley,
I think, is like zero to one thousand when he
says it's guaranteed. But anywhoy go ahead and give me
the Baltimore Ravens minus five at Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
It's do or die.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
This team is they're looking for a chance to get
into the playoffs, and you know where it starts.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
You have the guy, Lamar Jackson. He is phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
He showed it last week Thursday Night Football. He did
his name and he went back home, right MJ. Back
home to Florida for yes, South Florida. Yeah, yeah, you
put on a show.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Pompino Beach, Boyton Beach.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Lamar Jackson back, Kodak Black, that's his guy. Yeah, Kodak
Black baby back.

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Indeed, So go ahead and get me.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
The Baltimore Ravens minus five at Minnesota should be a
good game. But I think Baltimore with Lamar Jackson, I
think the defense maybe he can get a few stops
here and there, But other than that, I'm banking on
Lamar Jackson being Lamar Jackson and leading his offense to victory,
scoring thirty plus points and just lighting up floor is.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
I think that's what's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
So if you agree with that pick, you're going to
text in fact to four nine four or five to one.
If you disagree, you're gonna text in fiction to four
nine four or five one. The pick is in Baltimore
Ravens minus five at the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Well, the Ravens are. The Ravens are now about to
go on a run and take this division.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
Well, they have to do well.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
But here's the thing, the only thing I will say,
Oh did you see what? Did you see what JJ
McCarthy and the Vikings did on Sunday at Detroit.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
And here's the thing about JJ McCarthy, I don't understand him.
Nobody looks less impressive winning games than this guy. And
I'm going back to Michigan and his college stays at Michigan.
I don't get it. He looks like crap. He sometimes
he throws like crap, and yet he finds a way

(26:16):
to win. They won at Detroit, not at home.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Yeah, but it's a big game for both teams obviously.
But I like Lamar. I think Lamar gets a don
I think he's he realizes what's at stake. I think
him and Derek Henry have a really good game and
they go out there and show why they should be
feared getting ready for the postseason despite their defense being
what the defense has been this season. So again, the

(26:40):
pick is in Baltimore Ravens minus five at the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 5 (26:45):
Text.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
In fact, if you agree to four one four or
five one. If you're saying, nah, kid, you're gonna text
in fiction to four on four.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
Or five one.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
Baltimore's just a different team with Lamar. I'm not saying
I like your pick, but I'm just saying they are
a different team of Lamar, and they're so much better.
And you can see this is why. This is why
when before Sunday Thursday Night's game against the Dolphins, before that,
the Ravens were the odds on favorite to win the
AFC North Division because people know when the Mark comes back,
Daddy's back, Daddy's home, and that's basically what it is.

(27:16):
So there it is fact or fiction. Coming up next,
This owner is in a lot of trouble, and there's
a player right now who's very disgruntled at his current situation,
and he doesn't mind letting everybody, including the media know it.
Lewis Rinnick at Noon Don't Go Anywhere has a smoking

(27:36):
gun on La Clippers owner Steve Balmer. And this is
about to get really bad for mister Balmer.

Speaker 8 (27:44):
So the thing that I'm going to show you right
now is a new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles against
Clippers owner Steve Balmer. And it was filed by eleven
Aspiration investors who alleged that Balmer used the company, which
is now called Katona to quote secretly fin millions of
dollars to star NBA player Kawhi Leonard, paying him more
than allowed by the NBA's salary cap rules. Using screenshots

(28:08):
from the complaint in this video right now, they go
on to say, quote Balmer was complicit in and aided
and abedded co founder Joe Sandberg's fraud for his own
self serving purpose to evade the NBA's salary cap. The
lawsuit is on to say, quote, plaintiffs would not have
invested and or kept their investment in Aspiration if Balmer

(28:29):
and Sandberg had disclosed the true nature of Balmer's investment.
And I just spoke to Aspiration investor Skip Miller, who
provided a statement. Skip Miller is the plaintiff's LA based
council as well as somebody who had money with the company,
and what he tells Pablo Torre finds out is that quote,
a lot of people have been hurt here. This lawsuit
is being brought to recoup their losses. We look forward

(28:51):
to our day in court where everything will be aired
out and justice will be done. And the lawsuit says,
in particular here quote the whole extent of Bamber's transfers
of funds will be ascertained in discovery.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
He's in trouble, a lot of trouble, kid, mister Microsoft,
Steve Balmer Man, this does not sound good.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
I mean, listen, how much money can he throw at
him to make it go away? Now that's it? Because
it's sounded like a Kawhi Leonard somehow is like, oh right, yeah,
if we did pay him under the table, we just
had a few other things going on and it all
worked out. But now this is even bigger. So Balmber,
what are you willing to cash out to make sure
that whatever is going on doesn't see the light of day.

(29:37):
Although Pablo's doing his job and is he's making it
very difficult here. He's has journalism behind him. So this
is gonna I think this is gonna be something that
might stick, But I guess we'll have to wait and see, right,
I'm jay.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
Oh wow, you I just think that we all know
where this is going. And you know, the amazing thing
was that as soon as these accusations came out a
few months ago, Balmber goes to ESPN Sports Center La
Studio and he just does what every rich, successful billionaire does, deny, deny,
deny emphatically. You have to. So he does that hoping that, hey,

(30:10):
maybe we can do some settlement. And now it's all
coming out in the wash and this is not Now
I'm looking at down the road. What does this do
for him and his standing as a current NBA owner?
Can they I don't think they can. They can't. Donald

(30:33):
Sterling him.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Oh probably, he's He's a well liked man, right, Donald Stern,
All right, stuff came out right, They got him out
there exactly.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
But they can't. I mean, I don't think that would
that would really I don't think they could force him
to sell the team. But I'll tell you this right now.
Too many tips on the board.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
I don't think they can force him.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
But that's what I'm I think the owners.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Kind of run the NBA.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Like I know, Adam Silver is the big guy, but
behind the scenes, all the owners are kind of making
the decisions here.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
They just have a puppet.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
If that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
Yes, I hope you know.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
I'm going with that. I think owners tend to run things,
and yeah, you have this middleman here, But is he
really running the show.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
So Bomber, he might be in a position where he's like,
you're not getting out the league.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
You see what I've done.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
He would make the case and I'm sure his lawyer
will probably just like, this is what he's done for
the NBA. You're not about to kick him out of
the league for words solid as they would put it,
that's coming out now.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
I just but it is explicitly against the US for
an NBA any professional sports owner, you know, like it's like, uh,
you know, Jody Allen, Trust can't say, Hey, Jay said,
we're gonna set up this thing. We're gonna be subtle
about it. We're gonna call it, uh buck guy something.
It's gonna be you know something. Uh let's go buck eys.

(31:58):
And you know, I'm sure be a little bit more
subtle than that. And we're gonna pay you on the side.
You can't do that, man, that's like against the I mean,
I don't know if it's against the law, but it's
certainly against the rules. And for Bomber, you really put
everything on the line for Kawhi Leonard and he hasn't
even gotten to an NBA Finals. That's even worse. All right,

(32:21):
speaking of not getting them a finals, we have time
to play the jaw. John Morant who got suspended for
conduct detrimental to the team on Friday after his game
last night, here's the postgame scrum in the coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
That little talk about for Friday and l Yeah, I
ask that question, what about for you? I know the
answer to that. Do you feel like everything's going to resolved? Don't?

Speaker 6 (32:47):
Well?

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Yeah, but from you? Obviously they can go and tell
you all something. Mind sir, you fee if you get
this joy right now that you used to see it
from you, why not.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
What can be done to get it back?

Speaker 2 (33:03):
We'll see. Did you think you have a good relationship.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
With the franchise?

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Ja?

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I told you I didn't say anything about that. I
had a good relationship. I wouldn't talk to him about
all you've had our combo. You think he regrets about
the way you played on Friday night in the second half?

Speaker 1 (33:20):
He said, what do you think he regrets about the
way you played in the game?

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Talk about the hall?

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Wrong question?

Speaker 2 (33:27):
It's not like a bag question.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Wow, sounds like a bait. Is that your home wrun question?

Speaker 6 (33:34):
Kid?

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Sounds like a big quest. I mean, I gotta admit, man,
he was a little surly there and then hey, I'll
just tell you this, Jaw and I was always a
fan of him. I don't know, Somewhere along the line
things losing, losing, But it's also like, here's the thing
about Jaw. Just thank your lucky stars that you're in

(33:55):
dealing with Memphis media and not New York, Philly or
Boston media, because they would make your life a living hell,
an absolute living hell of monumental proportions. So thankfully you're
just getting a couple a couple of fastball buzzing the
tower questions. But man, you know John Moran, obviously I couldn't.

(34:21):
I could see him being traded before the February deadline
to somewhere else. All right, if you missed our interview
with Lewis Riddick from ESPN, you're not gonna want to
miss it. Next he this was yesterday, right after the
Seahawks Commander's game on Sunday night. He talks about Sam
Darnold and where he could be. Is he an MVP candidate?

(34:43):
Leonard Williams, are the Seahawks legitimate Super Bowl contenders? We'll
get to that. Lewis Rick next, MJ and the Midday
