Farm Stadium. We saw what happened that night and how
the cards came back at the end, and Marvin Harrison
really turned into the guy that everybody there in that
state has been waiting for him to turn into. In
the second half, he really torched Witherspoon.

Big win by the Cards on Monday night against the Cowboys.
Huge win there, and they decide finally that they're gonna
go with Jacoby Brissett. Kyler Murray is hurt, but is
I'm gonna ask you, first and foremost is the do
you believe that the Kyler Murray era is officially, well

unofficially over in Arizona.

Yeah.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards that way. I mean, obviously, when
you're coming into year seven, you've only got one playoff
appearance and it's not a good one. You don't have
a playoff win under your belt. That's just not the
makings of a successful franchise quarterback. And I think he
understood that coming into this year. It was a make
or break year, third year under the current regime. And yeah,
the first five weeks looked completely different than the last
three weeks, which in Kobe's perseet running the show, they're

setting you know, season marks and total yards, passing yards,
points per game with the backup under center. So that
right there tells you that this system just doesn't fit Kyler.
And beyond that, it's just time to move on. It's
it's been too many seasons of not enough success and
now you're kind of seeing the end of the line.
And that's just how I put it. I mean speeding
towards a point of no return. That's what I put

just seems like it is towards the end he obviously
he's gonna have. If he could come back in four weeks,
that only gives him five games to play and really
show that he's still the guy. Do you even want
to roll him out at that point? You've already seen
five weeks already this year, if you've seen what he
can do last year and it's just not living up
to what I think this team can do offensively, And

either way, if Jacoby Brissett can continue to do what
he's doing, you're not gonna want to go put Kyler
back in the mix. You've already seen what he's done.
And then the other side of it, if they go
out there and lay flap the rest of the season,
do you really want to try to hurt his value
of trying to get him out there and doing too
much and possibly re injure himself, Because hey, if they
want to move on this offseason, they're gonna look at
an avenue of trying to trade him before outright cutting him.

There's gonna be a lot of dead money associated with that.
But you look at what the Denver Broncos are doing.
They I mean, Dan Graziano spelled it out perfectly the
other day of they had eighty million of dead money
that they took on with the Russell Wilson cut, and
they look like a better team for it. So I
could see a very similar situation going on with Kyler,
and honestly, I think.

It's right for both sides.

Let him go try to be the next Baker Mayfield,
Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, and let the Cardinals go try
to reset and really get this regime who they want
in under center and go from there.

better with Jakobe Burssett? Is Is it just the system
or is it just the fact that he's a guy
having been an understudy for Tom Brady in New England
and ben around the league a lot.

Love kind of thing of let the guy learn behind
you a lot to where when you need to make
the change, it's not so drastic and you just gotta
throw a guy in there, you know, drinking out of
a fire hose. So you know, I would love to
see Jacoby Brissette hanging around another year or two just
because of the mentorship, the leadership that he brings. I mean,
talking to Marvin Harris in the locker room, that's one

of the things that stands out is just his leadership
that Jacoby's bringing. So would love to see them bringing
a younger guy. But also, yeah, you've got to keep
Jacoby in town too. And he's also got the relationship
with Drew Petzing and Israel Israel wolf Fork from their
time in Cleveland, so that's only helped the foundation for
Jacoby to kind of come in and really get go.
And it comes down to, you know, the big thing
is just the under center play action passes that he

can get done. That's gonna be the big thing that
I've been seeing through these last couple of games compared
to what they've been doing with Kyler under center.

What do you think it is if you could go

be the one thing? Maybe more and more, probably more
than one thing. Where did it go wrong for Kyler
Murray because he came in the league they hit the
reset button one year after they made the mistake of
taking Josh Rosen. They take Kyler Murray number one overall, like, okay, great.

Not many franchise would hit the reset button so quickly.
They obviously knew Josh Rosen was out of the league
in less than three years. That was a good That
was obviously a great decision. Where did do you think
that it kind of hit the wall and went wrong
for Kyler Murray in Arizona? If you could pinpoint a
time and why, when and why?

Yeah, I mean I think just the the kind of
divorce that we saw with Cliff Kingsbury and that I
mean that was one of the big reasons that I
think they went out and got him. They wanted to
have a head coach paired with a quarterback that they
could really dial up things like they could in college
get the air raid going. And once that kind of
fell off, I think everybody kind of started seeing, like, hey,
can he do the traditional offense that this NFL is

going back to.

And right now I think we're seeing the results of that.

I think this is much more a traditional run first
offense than what Kyler Murray's been in and you're seeing
kind of the results, and you're seeing the discrepancies between
him and Jacoby. Like I said, Jacoby's being under center Moore,
he's staying in the pocket Mohere, he's letting guys get open,
whereas Kyler he's got to do a lot with his feet.
And that's nothing to take away from him. That's one
of the parts that makes him great. But when you

can't stay in the pocket and deliver time and time again,
and you've got to get out of the pocket, you've
got to try to find things, and you've got to
go off schedule more times than not, things are gonna
happen the wrong way. And I think that's kind of
what we're seeing now is the avalanche of that and
where yes, he can still get things done and he's
still an electric player, but in this system and in
that traditional football offense, it's just not looking the way

that it should. And when you have Jacobe and there six',
FOUR i think the height is a definite part of.
That he can stay in there and. Deliver he's a
little bit bigger, Too so it's just all of those
factors go into, it and it just LIKE i, Said
tyler is an electric, player but when you are not
one hundred percent with that foot injury, too you're really
going down to have to stay in the. Pocket And
kyler just isn't that.

week just because of the players they don't, have AND

i think it just really comes down, HONESTLY i love
what the head coaching he's doing right.

they've definitely exceeded the EXPECTATIONS i had for the.

said they've had the number and it comes down to

clarity that, hey at Least COBE's gonna be the guy
for the next at least four weeks and should be

OPINION i think that that's kind of like the next.
Chapter let's see what this looks like, now because they've
obviously had to deal with the guy that they did
not get the hand. Pick, Obviously Jacoby brissett came over this.

Offseason he was a guy that when they were going
through the whole torn acl With Kyler, MURRAY i, Thought,
hey bring Over Jacoby. Brissett he's got that familiarity With
drew With, israel they can continue to move forward that.
Way obviously they went With Josh, dobbs but when they
added him this, offseason a lot of people got upset
because that was the biggest offensive move they. Made but
we're starting to see that it was clearly worth the

money from what he's putting on. Tape so it's very
interesting BECAUSE i do think this next stage of The
gannon era is going to be really really something to,
watch just because he's built the. Foundation he's built the
culture that is a for sure. Thing he's got the defensive,

closely and then you head it in next. Year and,
REALLY i, MEAN i think that's going to be the
make or break year for him is can he continue
to lead this team in the right direction or are
they gonna fall? Flat and then it's just gonna, be,

you're coming into year seven, you've only got one playoff
appearance and it's not a good one. You don't have
a playoff win under your belt. That's just not the
makings of a successful franchise quarterback. And I think he
understood that coming into this year. It was a make
or break year, third year under the current regime. And yeah,
the first five weeks looked completely different than the last
three weeks, which in Kobe's perseet running the show, they're

setting you know, season marks and total yards, passing yards,
points per game with the backup under center. So that
right there tells you that this system just doesn't fit Kyler.
And beyond that, it's just time to move on. It's
it's been too many seasons of not enough success and
now you're kind of seeing the end of the line.
And that's just how I put it. I mean speeding
towards a point of no return. That's what I put

on Arizona sports dot Com the other day. Of it
just seems like it is towards the end he obviously
he's gonna have. If he could come back in four weeks,
that only gives him five games to play and really
show that he's still the guy. Do you even want
to roll him out at that point? You've already seen
five weeks already this year, if you've seen what he
can do last year and it's just not living up
to what I think this team can do offensively, And

either way, if Jacoby Brissett can continue to do what
he's doing, you're not gonna want to go put Kyler
back in the mix. You've already seen what he's done.
And then the other side of it, if they go
out there and lay flap the rest of the season,
do you really want to try to hurt his value
of trying to get him out there and doing too
much and possibly re injure himself, Because hey, if they
want to move on this offseason, they're gonna look at
an avenue of trying to trade him before outright cutting him.

There's gonna be a lot of dead money associated with that.
But you look at what the Denver Broncos are doing.
They I mean, Dan Graziano spelled it out perfectly the
other day of they had eighty million of dead money
that they took on with the Russell Wilson cut, and
they look like a better team for it. So I
could see a very similar situation going on with Kyler,
and honestly, I think.

It's right for both sides.

Let him go try to be the next Baker Mayfield,
Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones, and let the Cardinals go try
to reset and really get this regime who they want
in under center and go from there.

better with Jakobe Burssett? Is Is it just the system
or is it just the fact that he's a guy
having been an understudy for Tom Brady in New England
and ben around the league a lot.

Love kind of thing of let the guy learn behind
you a lot to where when you need to make
the change, it's not so drastic and you just gotta
throw a guy in there, you know, drinking out of
a fire hose. So you know, I would love to
see Jacoby Brissette hanging around another year or two just
because of the mentorship, the leadership that he brings. I mean,
talking to Marvin Harris in the locker room, that's one

of the things that stands out is just his leadership
that Jacoby's bringing. So would love to see them bringing
a younger guy. But also, yeah, you've got to keep
Jacoby in town too. And he's also got the relationship
with Drew Petzing and Israel Israel wolf Fork from their
time in Cleveland, so that's only helped the foundation for
Jacoby to kind of come in and really get go.
And it comes down to, you know, the big thing
is just the under center play action passes that he
(05:06):
can get done. That's gonna be the big thing that
I've been seeing through these last couple of games compared
to what they've been doing with Kyler under center.

What do you think it is if you could go
back to one thing, Tyler Drake Arizonasports dot Com joining
us right now on MJ in the midday, what would
be the one thing? Maybe more and more, probably more
than one thing. Where did it go wrong for Kyler
Murray because he came in the league they hit the
reset button one year after they made the mistake of
taking Josh Rosen. They take Kyler Murray number one overall, like, okay, great.

Not many franchise would hit the reset button so quickly.
They obviously knew Josh Rosen was out of the league
in less than three years. That was a good That
was obviously a great decision. Where did do you think
that it kind of hit the wall and went wrong
for Kyler Murray in Arizona? If you could pinpoint a
time and why, when and why?
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Yeah, I mean I think just the the kind of
divorce that we saw with Cliff Kingsbury and that I
mean that was one of the big reasons that I
think they went out and got him. They wanted to
have a head coach paired with a quarterback that they
could really dial up things like they could in college
get the air raid going. And once that kind of
fell off, I think everybody kind of started seeing, like, hey,
can he do the traditional offense that this NFL is
(06:19):
going back to.

And right now I think we're seeing the results of that.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I think this is much more a traditional run first
offense than what Kyler Murray's been in and you're seeing
kind of the results, and you're seeing the discrepancies between
him and Jacoby. Like I said, Jacoby's being under center Moore,
he's staying in the pocket Mohere, he's letting guys get open,
whereas Kyler he's got to do a lot with his feet.
And that's nothing to take away from him. That's one
of the parts that makes him great. But when you
(06:43):
can't stay in the pocket and deliver time and time again,
and you've got to get out of the pocket, you've
got to try to find things, and you've got to
go off schedule more times than not, things are gonna
happen the wrong way. And I think that's kind of
what we're seeing now is the avalanche of that and
where yes, he can still get things done and he's
still an electric player, but in this system and in
that traditional football offense, it's just not looking the way

that it should. And when you have Jacobe and there six',
FOUR i think the height is a definite part of.
That he can stay in there and. Deliver he's a
little bit bigger, Too so it's just all of those
factors go into, it and it just LIKE i, Said
tyler is an electric, player but when you are not
one hundred percent with that foot injury, too you're really
going down to have to stay in the. Pocket And
kyler just isn't that.

obviously had to deal with the guy that they did
not get the hand. Pick, Obviously Jacoby brissett came over this.

Offseason he was a guy that when they were going
through the whole torn acl With Kyler, MURRAY i, Thought,
hey bring Over Jacoby. Brissett he's got that familiarity With
drew With, israel they can continue to move forward that.
Way obviously they went With Josh, dobbs but when they
added him this, offseason a lot of people got upset
because that was the biggest offensive move they. Made but
we're starting to see that it was clearly worth the

money from what he's putting on. Tape so it's very
interesting BECAUSE i do think this next stage of The
gannon era is going to be really really something to,
watch just because he's built the. Foundation he's built the
